TIME TO BID FAREWELL TO THE MOUNTAINS...

Heading back to Florida early this morning.  Our time here, in the mountains has been absolutely amazing.  So many lessons learned and such a restful / refreshing time with the Lord.  Had the wonderful opportunity to share the Word of God in a warm, very well established (184 year old) congregation yesterday morning.

A good example of simple, Christian love was late yesterday evening.  It was 25 degrees and falling.  Peter, Ariana & I had been preparing to depart since we got home from Church.  Oh, had dinner with Bill & Judy, our new neighbors & long time members of the Church.

Cranked up the old motor-home and....the brakes felt "soft".  Not good, here in the mountains.  Called Bill and he and another Brother came right over.  We simply needed a little extra brake fluid.  Between the long descents and the cold, we were just down a bit on the fluid.  Praise God for simple solutions and strong and caring neighbors.

Well, it's time to get the kids and bundle them up for the winding ride back to Florida.  Going to miss the breathtaking views, the cold mornings, the early morning fires with my Bible and a good cup of coffee.  This time in the cabin in the mountains has also shown us how to live without electricity in the cold....very valuable lessons in the event of a disaster.

Time to hit the road.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious love, prayer and support!

PS - If....things go well on the road back to Florida, Peter and I will head to Dogs-R-Us this evening for a certain Bowl Game...LSU against Clemson in the Chik-Fil-A bowl.  Should be a great game.

WINTER STORM FREYR (RHYMES WITH FLAIR) CAUSING HAVOC - FORECASTERS UNDERESTIMATING EFFECT

Freyr is causing forecasters to "scratch their heads", certainly in this neck of the woods of Northeast Tennessee.  The temperature was supposed to be in the "40's" and instead, the temperature this morning was 19 degrees!

And....there was "No snow" in the forecast and yet, last night, we had the most beautiful "mini" snow storm.  Peter and I just watched the snow flakes fall like little star flakes.  It was just beautiful.  This morning, we have a nice layer of snow but....not enough to snow board but...the day ain't over yet!

Usually, the Forecasters are quite accurate, at least we've found that with Summer, tropical stuff.  But these Winter Storms seem to quite tricky to forecast.

At any rate, it's nice to have a "roaring fire" in the old wood stove.  Again, this device would certainly come in handy in the event of an electrical failure.  There seems to be quite a bit of that as a result of the ice and heavy snow from Winter Storm Freyr.

The Northeast is being "hammered" again by Freyr causing major traffice / travel problems.  If you have to travel the road in this region, be sure to pack extra provisions (BLANKETS, FOOD, FIRE-STARTING STUFF, ETC).  Best count on delays and real jams.  Remember those "Wise Virgins" in Matthew 25.  They had a little extra oil.  Not a bad idea!

Well, we're up early this morning and getting ready to visit a 184 year old Baptist Church.  Been invited to share our testimony this morning.  Love to share "The Story" of God's Amazing Grace in our lives!

So, it's time to throw another log on the fire and get ready to slip and slide down to church.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!  Stay warm and safe!

U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT ISSUES TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR THOSE GOING TO HAITI - NOTE:  HAITIAN THUGS DO NOT DISCRIMINATE....ANOTHER WINTER STORM....FREYR....WHO COMES UP WITH THESE NAMES?

Just saw this updated U.S. State Department Travel Advisory (issued 3 hours ago) on Haiti and will post it:

State Dept. warns of travel hazards in Haiti

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department has issued a revised Haiti travel advisory, warning Americans planning to travel to the Caribbean island nation about robbery, lawlessness, infectious disease and poor medical facilities.
"U.S. citizens have been victims of violent crime, including murder and kidnapping, predominantly in the Port-au-Prince area. No one is safe from kidnapping, regardless of occupation, nationality, race, gender, or age," the department said.
The new travel warning was released Friday to replace a less strongly worded advisory issued in June.
In recent months, travelers arriving in Port-au-Prince, the capital and largest city, on flights from the United States have been attacked and robbed after leaving the airport. This year, at least two U.S. citizens were shot and killed in robbery and kidnapping incidents, the State Department said.
"Haitian authorities have limited capacity to deter or investigate such violent acts, or prosecute perpetrators," the department said.
The State Department also noted that while the incidents of cholera have declined, the disease persists in many areas of Haiti. Medical facilities, including ambulance services, are particularly weak.
"Thousands of U.S. citizens safely visit Haiti each year, but the poor state of Haiti's emergency response network should be carefully considered when planning travel. Travelers to Haiti are encouraged to use organizations that have solid infrastructure, evacuation, and medical support options in place," the department said.
Note:  Emphasis added in red by me.  Joe
Looks like things are heating up a bit in Haiti, enough to warrant this new State Department Warning.  You may recall, that Air Mobile Joe does not publish our actual Travel Itinerary because most of these attacks occur near the airport.  For that reason, we do not transmit information that could bring harm or loss to our mission.
If there is any bright side to this (sic), it is that the Haitian Thugs DO NOT DISCRIMINATE!  My weak attempt at humor this blustery, rainy morning in the mountains of East Tennessee.  The bottom line is:  When traveling to Haiti, one should give extra vigilance to safety precautions and PRAYER!  Though Haiti is very dear to our hearts and we do travel there quite often, we realize that these missions carry a fair amount of risk.
Often, folks will want to come with me on these missions and we are blessed that so many want to go and do something to help.  But, I would encourage those wanting to go to "count the cost" and realize that there is significant risk on these missions.  Now, we've been doing this for 35 years and....we're still alive, though....we have been robbed, beaten and attacked numerous times.
Well, here we are, in the mountains of Tennessee, in a snug, warm, comfortable cabin and just chilling out for a bit.  Knowing that soon, our little get-away will end and we'll be heading back to Haiti pretty soon.  Often, in this "Rambling Blog", I THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support.  I am convinced that often, your prayer has protected our team members while we've been in Haiti.  Again, I say THANK YOU!
Wow, three in a row.  The latest Winter Storm - Freyr (Who comes up with these names??).  As you can see, we're right on the tail of the storm here in Northeast Tennessee.  There is just a very, very slight chance that we'll get a bit of snow.  That would make Peter VERY happy but....we just can't get that temperature down 2 degrees....it currently 34 and raining.  So close.  Oh well.
Today, we'll have another lazy day in the Cabin.  Been asked to speak in the local Baptist Church tomorrow morning.  It's a "New Plant".....Established in 1829!  Been around for a while.  Well, time to go "stoke that fire" and get that second cup of coffee.  Again, THANKS for wandering down this little blog today and THANKS for your prayer, love and support!

ANOTHER WINTER STORM BREWING - BRINGING MORE SNOW THIS WEEKEND - LEARNING A GOOD LESSON FROM AN OLD "KNOTTY" LOG

That old winter storm, Euclid, just may grow into another winter storm this weekend.  More snow is expected and here in our neck of the woods of Tennessee, we might be right on end of the snow line.  We'll see.

Between Winter Storms Draco and Euclid, over 65% of the U.S. received snow.  That certainly makes up for the lack of snow last year and....the winter storms aren't over!  There's more to come.  Good time to work on staying warm, that's for sure.  I suppose all of this snow is the result of "Global Warming"......

Well, woke up around 4:30 this morning and the cabin was getting a bit chilly, so after putting on the coffee, commenced to starting a nice fire in our trusty wood stove.  Selected, what I thought was an ideal log to get that fire going.

It had a beautiful knot that made a nice little cavity that I could put the "kindling" and get the fire a blazing.  Not so..... I kept adding kindling and blowing and adding kindling and blowing. It just wouldn't burn.  Mmmmm, I felt a good lesson coming on.  Oh, it's not very spiritual, but rather practical for future fires.

I finally just put more kindling on top of that old "knotty" log and placed another log on top and finally, got the fire really burning hot.  Now, here's my simple lesson.

When selecting my logs to burn, I'll put those "old knotty" logs aside and use them at the end  of the evening, just before going to sleep.  Place those on last and we'll get a nice, slow burning fire that just might last the night.  Will give it a try this evening to see if it works.  I suspect it will.  It took nearly 2 full hours to get that old "knotty" log to finally burn up this morning.

You know, our time here in the cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee is yielding many lessons on self sufficiency and survival in the event we have a major disaster.  If we lose electricity, for example,  what would we do, especially if we're in a major winter storm?  Just learning how to make a nice fire and keeping it going is valuable information.

Yesterday, had a productive day in meetings and just sharing our vision of bringing clean water to a thirsty world.  There is good interest from this community in seeing the Air Mobile Rescuer made here.  We'll continue to pursue the opportunity.   Also visited our dear friends from Florida, Richard and Teresa Suarez.  They too, have a little cabin in the woods and are not too far from us.  Good to see them and great having them for neighbors.

I invited them to our cabin for some bean soup (it's really gotten good with time).  Looking forward to having them over today.

Meanwhile, Peter is simply waiting (and praying) for that snow to fall so that he can try out his snowboard that he got for Christmas.

Oh, I spoke with Barbara in Haiti yesterday.  All is well and things are somewhat quiet there (for the moment).  We're discussing our "next mission" down to a "warmer" part of the world.  This will likely occur in early 2013.  Wow, 2012 is almost over.  It's been quite a year.  We have seen our Lord do some great and marvelous things!

We expect 2013 to be full of opportunity, challenges and His amazing Grace!  May you be blessed today and if you're in the path of those "wicked" winter storms, stay warm!!  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

KEEPIN WARM IN THE CABIN THEN TO A LITTLE 184 YEAR OLD BAPTIST CHURCH ON A BLUSTERY, SNOWY NIGHT

Peter, Ariana and I had the privilege to attend a wonderful church service last night.  First of all, Winter Storm Euclid dipped down and brought in some very cold, windy, wet air and we had a beautiful dusting of snow with a fair amount of ice.

We spent the day in the cabin, keeping the fire "a-goin" and that big old pot of bean soup just kept getting better and better.  We read some and napped and just had an easy, lazy day.  Our Cindy is back down in Florida taking care of inmates in jail.  She and her Dad hit the road and worked around winter storms to get back to Florida.

Folks all across the Midwest to the Northeast are dealing with Euclid who is brutal.  Major snow fall is occurring all throughout the region.  Certainly not a good time to be traveling.  Thousands of flights have been cancelled.  Pray your electricity stays on so that you can keep warm.

Our old wood stove has been keeping the cabin snug and lets us cook some tasty meals at the same time.  Very thankful.  Looks like Winter Storm Euclid is going to be around for a while.

Back to the good service last night.  Pastor Charles delivered a solid message on "The End".  Well, he spoke of how 2012 is indeed coming to an end and we're about to enter into 2013.  Things do indeed come to an end.  Very thought provoking and poignant message.

He went on to the talk about "Opportunities" that we have today....that we may not have tomorrow and how we should "take advantage of the opportunities" that are before us because....one day, or the next hour, they may be gone.

Today, we have some business to attend to.  This "neck of the woods" would be an ideal location to build our Air Mobile Rescuer...in addition to building them down in Florida.  Don't want all of our eggs in one basket.  Should a strong storm, or flooding occur down in Florida, it's good to know that we can build these "life-saving" units in the mountains of Tennessee.

I hope to meet with the Mayor of our little town and some of the other Officials to discuss this possibility.  We've already heard that they are very interested in our project.  One thing we've learned after doing disaster / relief work around the world for over 40 years is that things can certainly happen and they can happen quickly and unexpectedly.

Thus, our exploration of setting up other manufacturing locations.  Please pray that our Lord leads us and gives us His favor today.  This goes back to the message that we heard last night from Pastor Charles.  We should "seize the opportunities" that are set before us.

Well, it's that time of day.  Time to head out into this day that "Our Lord has made", let us rejoice and be glad in it.

We pray you stay warm today (if you're in Euclid's path).  Ask our Lord what opportunities are before you and what you should do about them.  Close out 2012 with Victory in Christ.  Tell someone today about our Savior.  There is no better time to accept Him than "Today"!

As always, we so appreciate your prayer, love and support and THANK YOU for wandering down ths meandering blog.  May you be blessed today!!

BRRRRRR - WINTER STORM EUCLID DROPPING SNOW AND BLIZZARDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA SIERRA'S TO THE NEW ENGLAND - TREACHEROUS TRAVEL

Since when did they start naming Winter Storms??  Hmmmm, just recently.  This one is called Euclid and it has brought snow, blizzards, tornadoes and very treacherous travel conditions from the California Sierra's to ultimately New England.

If possible, the best thing to do is stay in....if you can and avoid traveling the road if you're in that big wide swath of nasty winter weather from Texas to New England.

We, in our neck of the woods / mountains of Northeast Tennessee have gotten a lot of rain and temperatures just a "smidge" above freezing.  Wanted to see some snow, but sure don't like that bad road conditions brought on by snow and ice.

Yesterday, after a superb Christmas Dinner, we put on a pot of bean soup with the hamhock and every bit of vegetables and anything else we could throw into the pot.  We put the pot on the our wonderful wood stove and just let the soup cook throughout the evening.  I got up a couple of time and threw a log on the fire.  By this morning, ahhhh, a delicious pot of bean soup on a chilly, rainy, windy morning.  True "Comfort Food".

We pray you have a blessed, safe and warm day today.  We truly appreciate your love, prayer and support.  God bless!!

MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here it is, Christmas Day!  There is a lot of hoop-la surrounding this day, but we know the real reason that we celebrate.  The birth of our Savior and the most amazing expression of God's Love imaginable.

Was up very early, got the fire going and just read His Precious Word and Love Story to us while awaiting Cindy and Kids to awaken.  Love that quiet, peaceful before the sun rises.

Once awake, we first sang, "Happy Birthday Jesus" and read the story out of Luke 2 (remember the Charlie Brown Christmas Special?).  By the way, our Christmas tree looked amazingly like the famous little tree in the Charlie Brown Special.

Our gift exchange was wonderful.  Peter got a Snow Board, Ariana lots of Princess things and Cindy and I....a Keurig Coffee Pot for our Tennessee Cabin.  Now, that is a great and useful gift!

Well, it's cold and rainy here in the mountains of East Tennessee.  The weather forecasters are calling for another severe snow storm to from Texas to the Northeast.  Stay warm and be blessed today as you ponder the Amazing Gift of Jesus!

THE LITTLE RED STOOL

I caught a glimpse of the forlorn red stool behind the out-cabin.  I went back in my mind to the fifties.  My Mother had one just like it.  The top would fold up, making the stool a perfect little step ladder for the kitchen.

Cindy has been dehydrating / canning for months now. We had so many beautiful Mason Jars full of long-life food and we needed to get them up on a high shelf.  We needed a step-ladder.  I sent Peter out to retrieve the Little Red Stool.  He had some rags and cleaners.  I was working on another project and wanted to see how Peter would handle the task.

Within minutes, he returned with a "that old stool is beyond hope", just throw it away.  I smiled.  "We'll see about that".  I headed out with some more cleaning supplies and a sponge with Scotch-Brite and went to work.  The white seat cleaned up and looked brand new.  The mildew came right off of the little red legs.

Soon, we had the most beautiful "Retro" Kitchen stool / step ladder you've ever seen. Even the color matched our kitchen to perfection.  You know, every time we come up here to the mountains, our Lord just gives us another blessing.  This time, it was the "Little Red Stool".

In many ways, we're like that "Little Red Stool".  Often, when we come to the Lord, we're a mess, generally pretty beat up and not very clean.  He comes into our lives and makes us something beautiful, certainly to Him.

Well, it doesn't look like we're going to get our White Christmas unless....the weather does something completely unforecast.  Today, it's foggy and rainy and just a few degrees above freezing.

Here we are on Christmas Eve and having a lovely time in the snug cabin to reflect on the "Wonder of Christmas".  There is so much more to the story than most get.  Our Lord loved us so much that He sent His Son into this hurting, fallen world to bring us New Life!  Praise His Name!

May you blessed today and try to spend a little time on the beauty and wonder of Christmas.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and precious love, prayer and support!!

PS - What a great lesson for Peter.  He'll long remember the "Little Red Stool".  Joe

"CHILLIN" IN THE CABIN IN THE EAST TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS

Peter, Ariana & I had a "lazy, chillin" day in the cabin.  We cooked a whole meal (Hot Dogs, Chili, Toasted Buns) on the wood stove top.  Man, does that thing work well.  The temperature outside never got above freezing.  The kids did go out for a bit and have a minor snow fight, but soon found themselves sitting in front of the fire and taking my example of "just chilln".

I pulled out a Louis L'Amour Western Novel and introduced my kids to the Sackett Family.  This novel was about a tough & smart 16 year girl, Echo Sackett.  Interestingly enough, her fictional family settled in the Clinch Mountains of Tennessee...right in our neck of the woods.  It really brought the story home.

Well, hour after hour, between occasional snacks and quick food, I read and read.  About 9:30 last night, the kids were drifting on me and I put a mark on the page.  We only have about 15 minutes of reading to see how this very brave, little girl gets back to her beloved Tennessee mountains with the family fortune.

I got up about 4:30 this morning.  Already on my second cup of coffee, had a good time reading and studying out of the Book of Revelation and just thinking about how our Lord came into this world on a cold winter night in Bethlehem.

It's about 18 degrees outside and the sky is crystal clear.  The fire is burning and the cabin is warm and snug.  Cindy and her Dad should be winding up the hill to our cabin early this morning.  Life is good and it's very nice to just "Chill Out" for a bit.

I pray that you are extremely blessed today.  It's a good time to think about Jesus and how He came into this world to save us.  Nice thought this morning.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful love, prayer and support!

CHILLY TREK CROSS COUNTRY - KEEPING WARM - ANSWERED PRAYER

Woaa - cold & windy drive from Florida to Tennessee.  Several times, the Old Bounder was almost "blown" off the highway but late yesterday evening, we rolled and "slid" up to our cabin in the woods.  Now, here's a cool (pun intended) answer to prayer.

We'd been running our on-board heater to stay warm.  I watched the propane level predictably going down.  Did not plan for Winter Storm "Draco" to bring such fierce winter winds & snow along our route.  What would happen "if" we got stuck somewhere (remember, we're driving in near blizzard conditions) and we ran out of propane to run the heaters.  Mmmm, sounds like we needed to top off and soon.

So, we stopped in a little town and made inquiry about it.  The store manager had a troubled look and informed me that there was nowhere in his town or the next or the next that he knew of.  So, our little "survival prayer chain" began in the Old Bounder.

As we prayed, I urged my "Co-Pilot" Peter to keep a sharp eye out.  Where would we find propane?  Suddenly, there it was, a little shop with a brand new sign saying (WE NOW FILL PROPANE)!  A quick turn around.  It was 5:03 on Friday Afternoon on "Christmas Weekend".  Were they still open??  The lights were just being turned off when I ran through the front door.  "Got a little Propane for some cold folks in an old motorhome?"

A warm smile and a slightly hesitant "Sure".  Ahhh, our Lord truly answered our prayers!  For you see, any Motorhome operators reading this "rambling, chilly blog" knows that finding "Propane Refill Places" is not always an easy task.

But here we were, on a small mountain road in the Virginia /Tennessee mountains getting "topped off"!  With joy, we asked our accommodating attendants to snap a shot of our little, shivering team.

Where, might you ask, is Cndy?  She and her Dad are working their way up here in our Ford Escape.

Well, it's a "brisk" 18 degrees here at our little cabin and there's quite a bit snow still on the ground.  This is unusual to get such a fierce storm at this time of year.  Draco is still causing problems in the Northeast.  But, forecasters are expecting it to warm up a bit in our neck of the woods.  Looks like "No White Christmas" for the Hurston's but....you never know.

Up early this morning.  Got that good coffee going and started a fire in the "Old Wood Stove".  You know, there's an art to starting a fire.  I spent about an hour this morning just watching that beautiful fire.

It's kind of like watching a good movie....ok, I know that's a bit crazy, but there's something so "warming" and comforting watching a nice fire, particularly one that keeps you warm and lets you cook a great meal at the same time.

I'm sitting in the one little spot (about a 3 foot radius) that "captures" the illusive internet signal.  We're looking forward to a few days up here in the beautiful North / East Tennessee mountains.  Not only is this extremely relaxing and "re-creating", but it's also an excellent exercise in surviving during hard times.

So, here we are, the day after 12-21-12.  Cindy and I suspected it would turn out like this.  However, many, many (billions around the globe) pondered what would happen if..... I'm thankful that the Mayan calendar "ran out" on 12-21-12....well, it's time to get a new calendar!  Remember, this is the day that our Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

May you be blessed today.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support.  Stay warm today.

AHHHH - THE SUN IS ABOUT TO RISE....ON SCHEDULE / A BIT CHILLY / WE'RE HERE!

We hit the road yesterday evening, heading up to our Tennessee Cabin to celebrate...hopefully a "White Christmas".  We're in the "Old Bounder" and life is good!

There has been a rather severe Cold Front that has raced across the U.S. and is just about to exit out over the Atlantic leaving very chilly temperatures in its wake.  Glad the heaters work good in our old coach.  By the way, doesn't the U.S. Doppler Radar Summary look strange...kind of like a tornado funnel cloud....mmmmm.

Just as Cindy and I had hoped and prayed, the "Old World" is still here.  We figured it would be...but, remember, it's never a bad idea to Prepare for hard days ahead.

We're hearing reports from Russia that an alarming number of folks have died from severe temperatures.  Apparently, a winter storm hit certain areas with such speed and ferocity, that people didn't have time to prepare and were caught in unbelievably low temperatures.

Winter Storm Draco has left the U.S. very, very cold quite quickly. So, it's a good idea to bundle up and stay warm.

I'm going to make this an abbreviated "Rambling Blog" this morning, as it's time to get the "Old Bounder" rolling through Georgia and on to Tennessee.  Pray you have a blessed and "warm" day today.  God bless!!

IN 17 HOURS - 7 MINUTES DECEMBER 21, 2012 WILL ARRIVE (EASTERN TIME) - IT'S A GOOD TIME TO SIMPLY PLACE OUR TRUST IN THE LORD

One thing is for sure, the future is in the Lord's Hands....so if we place our trust and our lives in His hands, whatever happens, we will be with the Lord.  That's simple.

Folks, Cindy and truly do not believe that the world is going to end in 17 hours.  What we do believe is that our Lord Jesus said very clearly that cataclysmic events will occur in the "Last Days".  Are we in the "End Days"?  Sure looks like it, according to the Bible.

There are many scientists who are predicting that unusual and yes, cataclysmic events may be in our future, some are saying in our immediate future.  What ever happens, the future is in our Lord's hands and we will trust Him and seek to serve Him with all of our hearts.

As one looks around this earth, there is clear evidence of cataclysmic events from the past.  Could they happen again?  Of course.  Could it be tomorrow, of course.  But then again, the day could dawn, just like any other day, and end the same way.

Deep in our hearts, we do not believe that tomorrow will bring about the end of the world.  Again, what we do know is that our Lord is in control and we are in His hands.

I do pray that as you read this little "rambling" blog, you will ponder and consider these things.  Whose hands are you in?  This is a very good question.  Remember, if God be for us, who can be against us?

Here, take a look at this wonderful scripture.

Romans 8:31-39

New King James Version (NKJV)

God’s Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”[a]
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So, here we are, on December 20th, just hours away from a day that many greatly fear.  May I urge to fear not, for He is with us!  If you do not know Him as your Savior, there is not a better time than right now.  Simply ask Him to come into your heart.  He loves you more than you could ever imagine!
Now, it's time to get on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made.  May you be extremely blessed today and as I always share, we are so THANKFUL for your precious love, prayer and support!!

GETTING "BIG STUFF" TO BARBARA (BLUE DRESS) - 12-21-12...RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER....SOME THOUGHTS FROM AIR MOBILE JOE

So appreciate Church at Viera (CAV) and Ed Schults.  Ed's been to Haiti many times.  Our "Little Donkey" is really quite small and we can only bring in things that fit through our door or go into the small cargo pod.  So...how do we get "Big Stuff" to Haiti?

Ed and CAV and Barb have found a shipper down in Miami that loads our oversize loads on a ship and eventually it gets to Haiti.  So, yesterday was a "Big Load" day.  Ed and I loaded 10 beautiful baby beds, mattresses and other good stuff to be shipped to Barb.

So, here we are, just 2 days away from December 21, 2012...a very interesting day.  So much has been said about this day beginning thousands of years ago.  What do you think is going to happen??

Well, Cindy and I have been dealing with "Disasters" for most of our adult lives.  So, we've taken all the "hoopla" about this day and used it as an opportunity to do some much needed "Preparation" just in case anything happens on or before or after.... that day.

For you see, Natural Disasters do not discriminate against rich or poor and can occur most anytime (Man-made disaster is another story).  Our best strategy is to just have some extra food and water etc. just in case.  Believe me, this is ALWAYS a good idea.  Remember those wise/foolish Virgins in Matthew 25.  Remember, the main difference between the wise / foolish Virgins is that the Wise Virgins went and bought some extra oil when the stores were still open and the oil was readily available.

Do we believe that the world is going to come to end on 12-21-2012?  Not really.  We believe that the sun will rise right on time and that the sun will set right on time.  We hope it will be a nice day.  We sincerely believe that on the morning of 12-22-2012, we'll have a nice cup of coffee, give thanks for another day and we'll get on about the Lord's business.  The "Bottom Line" is:  Our Lord is in control!!

There, that's "my story" and I'm sticking with it.  Now, it's time to get out the door and get Peter to school a bit early, as he'll be playing in the school band early this morning.  Hope and trust that you have a blessed day and....as always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

A CALL FROM JIM...CLEAN WATER DESPERATELY NEEDED IN ECUADOR - WATER MULES IN ACTION....KEEP ON MARCHING!

Jim Haddock was on the line.  There was a desperate need for clean water in Ecuador.  Folks were getting sick there.  What could he do?  I suggested he just get in his car and drive up to the Air Mobile Hangar and get an Air Mobile Rescuer.  He did!

After Jim's arrival (by the way, first met Jim in Haiti about 2 weeks after the terrible earthquake) we went right to work with a training session on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.  Soon, Jim had the process down & was ready to get that Rescuer into Ecuador.  I love it when our Lord moves like that!

Earlier yesterday, met with our incredible team of Air Mobile Water Mules at our Assembly Plant in Merritt Island.  So THANKFUL for such support.  Doug and Steve, who can make about anything, were coordinating with Rob, our Chief Rescuer Builder, on the new "Plant" layout to allow us to quickly and easily build Rescuers.  Good to have this team together.

Have the feeling that we're going to be needing MANY Rescuers.  Can't say exactly what is "coming down the pike", but have that internal sense that very hard days are ahead!

It seems everywhere we turn, there is the need for clean water... and for those that currently have clean water, things could change very quickly.  As you know, I've been sharing our need to be ready and prepared should disaster strike.  Folks, we don't know what the future holds, but we know Who does!

As we read the Bible, there is clear evidence that a day is coming when this world will be in great turmoil.  Could that day be approaching??  All one has to do is to read Matthew 24 (and  Mark 13 and Luke 21) to read the words of Jesus as He describes, very clearly, what the "End-Times" will look like.  Folks, looks like we're rapidly approaching those days!

May I also urge you to simply read the Book of Revelation.  Our Lord promises to bless you, even if you just read the Book.  There are many pictures contained in the Book, but I urge you to simply read it and let our Lord reveal to you the things are that happening in this world and those things written in the Book.  You'll be astounded!

Meanwhile, our excellent aircraft mechanic, Paul, has been steadily completing our scheduled inspection and maintenance on our Little Donkey, Ti Burik.  We're getting ready for our next mission.

Yesterday morning, I shared with you that my heart was heavy and that reading the Headlines can be pretty discouraging and depressing.  I asked you to pray with me in that regard.

Well, headed out into the day yesterday morning, not knowing what the day would hold, and the phone rang.  It was Jim.  Clean water needed in Ecuador.

I also received another call, moments after hanging up with Jim, from a Pastor in Tennessee.  We had spoken several months ago about some missionaries in Venezuela that desperately needed clean water.  Now, his Church is ready to fund a couple of Rescuers!

What I am trying to say is, even though I was "wrestling" with discouragement, our Lord just urged me to keep on "marching" and look to Him and serve Him.  Soon, the discouragement lifted and I simply "got back to work" in the Kingdom.

So, here we are.  Another day and another opportunity to see what our Lord will do today.  THANKS for praying!  As always, so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!

WITH GOD....ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE - JESUS SAID, "COME UNTO ME"

Was awake early this morning.  Have so many things on my mind and heart.  Came down, pushed the "magic button"....on the coffee pot and opened the Word of God.  The message that keeps coming to me is..."With God...All things are possible".  With God!  I am so thankful for the Lord and His love and grace!

I am reminded of our Grand Christmas Party yesterday in the Hospital for young people.  This year we celebrated our 15th year of ministry to young people who are "locked up".  Our Peter was only 7 months old when we began this new Adventure.  He is now 15 and 6'1" tall.  How we grow...with God!  These last 15 years have been an awesome experience.

Our team of volunteers showed up and within minutes, we transformed the Hospital Cafeteria into a beautiful Party Room.  There were Christmas lights, poinsettias, cake, punch and presents and....we were able to share the wonderful story of our Savior coming to earth as a vulnerable baby born to a young girl and a faithful husband.  We shared the message of the love of God and....the true meaning of Christmas to a "packed house"!

At the end of our service, we prayed for a number of young people.  One young man told us that he was about to commit suicide and he felt that the Lord was urging him to come to this hospital for help.  He did... and we had the opportunity to pray with him.  With God....all things are possible!

As I scan the news headlines this morning, the world is filled with "hopelessness and grief".  The dreadful news and images from Connecticut, grim economic news, violence and war is on many fronts and there seems to be a spirit of "mocking God".

It is easy to become discouraged and depressed by the things going on all around us however...Our Lord Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 "All of you who labor and are heavy laden, come unto Me, I will give you rest".

OK, we've been going through a tough patch here.  Two weeks ago, we lost a young mother in our Church, then several days later, I lost my double-first cousin, Harry and then the day of the Connecticut Massacre, news came about our dear friends losing their 19 year old son, Joshua.  Sometimes, tragedy just "takes one breath away". So, with a broken heart, this morning, I come to our Lord and ask Him for grace and strength for this day.

So, here we are on a Monday morning.  So many things to do.  We are facing so many challenges and I must remind myself again and again, "With God....All things are possible".  I come to our Lord Jesus this morning and ask Him to guide me and lead me this day...that He has made.  Now, I open my heart to His joy and direction and go forth.  As I always share, THANK YOU for your precious and much needed prayer, love and support!  God bless!!

QUALITY TIME....CATCHING A ROOSTER, PRAYING FOR A NEIGHBOR & BUILDING A "PALACE"

I have found one of the ways of dealing with grief and sadness is by looking around, taking inventory and giving THANKS for the things that we have.  Yesterday, had a few chores, errands to run and a bit of "office work".

First up, Peter and I spent the morning "catching the rooster".  That's not an easy thing to do.  During our last batch of hatched chicks, we had a couple of roosters.  So, it was time to get them out of the hen house.  Wish we had the video rolling during our hunt.  Well, one of the roosters simply "flew the coop".  And, with great care, we caught the other one.

While Peter and I were chasing the roosters, Ariana was in the garage getting "things" for her little Palace at the hangar.  More on that a bit later.

The guy that owns the feed store has a great deal for his customers.  If you get some roosters and don't know what to do with them, as was our case, simply bring them in.  He'll keep them and for no charge, if anyone needs a rooster to "fertilize some eggs", they're free.  So....our rooster was headed to the rooster "Stud Farm".  Not a bad future.

Once we had Mr. Rooster in the cage and ready to go....we made a grand breakfast of grits, eggs, Louisiana Hot Sausage, gravy and ham.  Mmmmmm.  Love a country breakfast on a Saturday morning with the kids.  So much to be THANKFUL for!

Ariana & I headed out to drop the rooster and stopped by our great neighbors, Clyde and Pat.  Folks, we are so blessed to have such neighbors.  Our mission was, however, to pray for Clyde.  Recently, he laid his motorcycle right down on his ankle....ouch!  Ariana & I stopped in to PRAY!  Ariana is a little prayer warrior.  That little one has powerful faith.

After praying, we all rejoiced in the blessings of the Lord.  So glad that Clyde has Pat to take such good care of him and he has a very comfortable chair to sit in and the meds really knock out the pain.  Even in the midst of trials, there is so much for which to be THANKFUL!

Ariana and I dropped the rooster and then headed to the hangar.  Now, one might say, that a hangar could be a pretty boring place for a little girl.  Not my Ariana!  This little one has an amazing imagination and she can have so much fun with so little!

While Peter and I were "catching the rooster" Ariana had gathered some really cool things for "Ariana's Grand Palace".  Among her treasures, an old string of Christmas tree light that didn't work, but she insisted that Dad get them going.  I did.  Also had some candy cane boxes that make perfect chicken coops.  She had little packing "air bags" that make perfect trampolines and the list goes on and on.

So, upon arrival at the hanger, Ariana and her vivid imagination went to work.  OK, so did mine.  For a little while, I was transformed back to the little boy, picking up sticks and bits of trash and making "forts".

We began on this "doll house" about six months ago.  We just keep adding to it and it's truly becoming a Grand Palace.  In addition to the "things" that Ariana brought from our garage, the hangar is a Treasure Cove of additional furniture, and borders and ramps and so forth.

While I did my paperwork and answered e-mails, Ariana played for hours and hours on her "Grand Palace".

You know, all of our hearts have been broken by the senseless and evil tragedy that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  We all have to deal with a whole host of difficult and painful emotions.

Yesterday, through the normal course of chores, errands, praying for a neighbor, answering e-mails, etc., I found comfort in just looking around and "inventorying" all of the wonderful things that our Lord has blessed me with.

Just watching Ariana "build a Palace" out of old boxes, bubble wrap, tape, an old discarded string of Christmas tree lights and bits of debris and play for hours with her vivid imagination brought great comfort and solace to my own soul.

I suspect that Ariana will long remember her little "Palace" at the hangar and so will I.  Folks, this, for me is "Quality Time".  As we approach this wonderful event, the Celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, may we simply look around and identify and give thanks for the many blessings that our Lord has bestowed upon us.

Today, our Air Mobile Team of volunteers will go to the Hospital and have a grand Christmas Party.  We're expecting a full house.  Because of the generosity of friends, we have been able to buy over 100 gifts and above all, we will share the wonder and Amazing Grace of Christmas.

May I encourage you to look around today and identify your blessings and then, simply give THANKS to our Lord.  I can certainly say, THANK THE LORD for you, our faithful friends who stand with us with love, prayer and support!  God Bless!!

A VERY SAD DAY IN AMERICA....

Yesterday started out like most other days.  We began going about our business and then....the news began to trickle in.. an unimaginable massacre in a small, sleepy town in Connecticut.

Soon, the entire nation was tuned into the horrifying details of the deranged gunman taking the lives of 28 innocent victims....20 children between 5 and 10 years old and 8 adults.

Very hard to grasp, it literally took my breath away.  At times, I could barely stand up, so many emotions flooded through my heart.  I can only imagine what the parents and families must be going through.  I grasped at the little acronym that I recently discovered....A.S.A.P. (Always Say A Prayer).  I prayed throughout the day.

Our Lord Jesus NEVER said that we would WOULD NOT have tribulation in this world, He did say...."In this world, you WILL have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world".

I am left this morning by holding onto Jesus and asking Him to pour out His comfort and grace on those who mourn.  There are many things that I do not understand and it is ok to ask why.  The fact is... In this world, bad stuff does happen....Jesus promised to be with us until the very end.  May I urge you to simply hold onto Jesus and pray for those whose hearts have been broken.

To add to my own grief yesterday, several hours after hearing the news about Sandy Hook, another call came in.  Our dear friends, Don and Patty Prouty lost their son, Joshua, 19 years old, to a robber on Thursday evening.

Josh was shot and killed for his cell phone and some cash.  Josh had just gotten off of work and was attacked in the parking lot.  Folks, again, our hearts are broken and all I know to do is go to our Lord Jesus.... Please PRAY for the Prouty family and... for those who lost so much in Connecticut.

Today, we all pick up the pieces of our emotions and go forth.  There is not a lot more than I can say this morning.  As emotions sweep over your heart, may I urge you to: A.S.A.P.

ROGER MILLER (EXCELLENT WATER MULE) RECEIVES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - TI BURIK'S INSPECTION GOING WELL - AIR MOBILE "WRAPPERS" GATHER - METEORS "SHOWER"

Had the wonderful privilege to attend a beautiful Award Ceremony for Roger Miller.  You may recall that Roger, an Emmy Winning Director, traveled to Haiti with me in July to complete a wonderful Mini-Documentary on Air Mobile.

Yesterday, Roger received another Award from Parrish Hospital here in Titusville for his wonderful and gifted contribution of sharing his remarkable "film-making" talents with our Community.  It was a blessing to share this precious moment with Roger, a true Trooper and Excellent Water Mule!

The routine Inspection of Ti Burik is going very well.  Both Paul and Joe, our excellent mechanics, were going through the systems getting our Little Donkey ready for the next mission.

Was able to order more components for our Air Mobile Rescuers yesterday and...picked up the new Air Mobile Rescuer Caps that were "hot off the press".  By the way, if you're interested in one of these beautiful caps, simply make a donation of any amount and request one with your address and we'll gladly get it to you.

At the end of the day, got home to a house full of Air Mobile Volunteer "Wrappers", not the singing kind, but the gift-wrapping kind.

Every year, Air Mobile has a Christmas Party for the Children at University Behavioral Center (UBC) where we have been the Chaplains for the last 15 years.  We had over 100 gifts to "wrap" and the team did it in record time.  "Many hands make small work"!

After the "Wrappers" left, Peter and I headed out into our back-yard and awaited a spectacular Meteor Shower Show.  We were not disappointed!  We saw some beautiful meteors, compliments of the "Geminid Meteor Showers.  We counted so many falling stars in just minutes.  It was awesome!  What a nice way to end the day.

Today, we'll be continuing our inspection of Ti Burik and gathering more components for our Rescuers.  Will be meeting with Larry, AKA, "Mr. Wizard".  Larry has been an invaluable asset to the Air Mobile effort to bring clean water around the world.

Larry knows "electronics" better than anyone I know and his task is to provide the DC Ballast boards, the device that causes the UV light to light and do it's wonders on purifying the water.  We'll be ordering more components for more circuit boards resulting in more, life-saving clean water for desperate people.  This is a noble mission and one that touches the heart of our Lord and Savior, Jesus!

So, have a full day ahead and it's time to head out into it. Pray you have a blessed day today. Remember to ponder Preparation and do a little something today for a possible "hard day" tomorrow.  You'll be glad you did.

As always, we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts here at Air Mobile!  We truly appreciate your faithful love, prayer and support!  God bless!!

PAT & HIS PANTHER - COUSIN HARRY PASSES

Immediately following the terrible Haiti earthquake of 1-12-10, a group of pilots stepped forward and flew incredible, heroic flights.  Among those pilots, Pat Roth with his Piper Panther.  I met Pat at the Port-Au-Prince airport multiple times, often carrying broken and very ill children for life-saving rescues.  Pat was simply amazing and only our Lord knows the depth of his service and courage.

Yesterday, on a stormy, rainy afternoon, Pat flew his beautiful Panther up to our airport to have a cup of coffee with Air Mobile Joe.  We shared some gripping memories of those early hours following the earthquake.

Just prior to Pat landing, Barbara, from Haiti (AKA "Rambo in the Blue Dress"), called and was just thrilled to hear that Pat and I would be getting together.

Pat offered again to lend a hand (and his aircraft) as needed.  Folks, I can't begin to tell you what that means.  It's friends like Pat that help Air Mobile to do what Air Mobile does!

We'll likely load up Pat's Panther and Ti Burik, our Little Donkey, and fly in a good load of formula, baby beds, diapers, medicine, Rescuer parts, Christmas presents for the kids, and the list goes on and on.  Barbara, during her call earlier, was giving me her "wishlist".  It means so much to have such good support from friends with "big hearts"!  Thanks again, Pat!

Yesterday morning, I received the very sad news that my "Double First Cousin", Harry Hurston passed away.  I say "Double First" because Harry's Mom was my Mother's Sister and Harry's Dad was my Father's Brother.  So....we were very close to being brothers.  Harry died peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack.  Harry was only 57 years old.  He will be greatly missed.  Please remember to pray for our family as we deal with this sad loss.

Well, it's bright and early.  My Cindy has already "canned" more dehydrated Veggies and Fruit.  Everyday, we do a little something toward "laying up in store" some food and supplies.  Remember, PREPARATION is a GOOD THING & "By the inch, it's a cinch, by the yard it's hard".

Once this food is dehydrated and put into the glass jars and air is removed, they will last for years and they do not require refrigeration....only a little water to bring them back to life.  Of course, that's another reason why having a source of clean water is so important during any disaster.

Also, thank you for praying yesterday regarding Cartridge Source of America (CSA).  We are operating this company by faith and we believe that our Lord will bless our efforts.  After all, CSA has a big commission... to build Air Mobile Rescuers!  With the turbulent days that lie ahead, a lot of Folks will need clean water!

Time to get on with this day.  Though my heart is heavy from the sudden loss of Cousin Harry, I am encouraged in the Lord and seek to walk very closely with Him today.  Will be continuing that inspection of our Little Donkey, Ti Burik and gathering more supplies for our "Next Mission".  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

NEED YOUR PRAYER....STANDING FIRM

This morning, I have a very important meeting regarding our company, Cartridge Source of America (CSA).  As many small businesses here on the Space Coast, CSA is going through very difficult times but....we hold out hope and stand firm.  We believe that with our Lord, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

CSA was formed 14 years ago, primarily to service contracts at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in behalf of NASA.  During the course of this business venture, we expanded into other areas, but KSC was still our main thrust.  KSC (NASA), since ending the Space Shuttle Program has laid off thousands and literally hundreds of small businesses have "gone out of business".

Of course, CSA, in coordination with Air Mobile has manufactured the amazing Air Mobile Rescuer.  This is a great hope for CSA.  So, again, I ask you to lift up CSA today and ask our Lord to give us wisdom and grace.  THANK YOU!

Meanwhile, we continue to prepare for our next mission.  Paul, our mechanic, is inspecting Ti Burik and all looks good.  We continue to order components for more Rescuer's as our funds allow.

There is increasing "anxiety" world-wide as 12-21-12 approaches.  Cindy and I are holding "steady the course" and preparing as we are able.  ABOVE ALL, we are simply praying and asking our Lord for His direction and wisdom.

Personally (and hopefully / prayerfully), we pray that 12-21-12 arrives and 24 hours passes without incident, and on the morning of 12-22-12, all will be well.  You know, no one knows what will happen on that day....except our Lord.  So, let us go to Him, put our lives and our plans into His hands and let us follow Him!

So, again, here we are facing another beautiful day that our Lord has made, armed with His peace, wisdom and grace.  That is certainly good reason to "Rejoice & be glad in it"!  As always, we're so THANKFUL to you for your precious prayer, love and support!  Thanks again for praying for CSA today!!

THE HONDURAS RESCUER THAT INSPIRED A WONDERFUL MODIFICATION

After some great flight training yesterday, rushed home to meet Jennifer, a local school teacher.  Jennifer recently went on a short-term mission to Honduras to work in an orphanage.  She and Marvin, another team member, called with a "Rescuer Down".  The venturi assembly was clogged.

We talked through the fix and it was rather tedious and quite complicated.  Shortly after that experience, received an e-mail from Uganda.  Same problem.  Mmmmm, what could I do to "expedite" the repair?  You see, the Air Mobile Rescuer, just like any machine, is subject to mineral "build-up", particularly when the unit sits for a while unused.

Suddenly, while sitting in my "Air Mobile Hangar Office", just like a light bulb turning on, the "Solution" came to me.  Put in a "T-Connection" just before the critical "venturi" giving access to the "clogged area".  Inject a little CLR and the problem goes away.  No need for complicated dis-assembly.  Well, since that day, been on a mission to upgrade every Rescuer that we have with this wonderful modification.

Well, yesterday, Jennifer, the teacher who inspired the repair, came to our home to get the replacement "T-Connector" to upgrade the Honduras Rescuer.  It was such a joy explaining to her how to repair the unit with such little effort.

The best part of this whole deal is that the modification components costs less than $3.00 and it takes about 1 minute to upgrade the Rescuer!  Just goes to show that good ideas & modifications don't have to cost "an arm and a leg"!

I am thankful to the Lord for giving me the wonderful solution.  There is a scripture in Proverbs 8:12..."Our Lord gives 'witty inventions'."  Thank you, Jesus!

You see, our goal is to make the world's finest portable water purifier. We're continually upgrading and improving the unit.  This latest modification is an example of making a great machine better.

By the way, spoke with our NASA Scientist yesterday regarding the continuation of testing the Rescuer and things look quite encouraging.  We hope to hear the results of our presentation later this week.  You may recall that last week, I shared how NASA has been testing our Rescuer for possible usage on-board the International Space Station.  Truly, the Adventure Continues!!

Today, will be heading up to the hangar to work with Paul, our aircraft mechanic, who is doing a thorough inspection of our Little Donkey.  The aircraft is flying beautifully and these routine inspections keep it that way.

So, it's that time.  Need to go feed the chickens and get Peter to school on time.  As always, THANK YOU for standing so faithfully with us with your prayer, love and support.  May you be blessed today!

FLIGHT TRAINING CONTINUES....

My first airplane ride took place at the tender age of 10.  That was it....I was never the same again.  Been flying ever since then and I love it.  Flight training is just a part of any aviator's career.  It's good to keep "current".  Of course, Aviation, as any profession, is ever evolving.  There are new methods of training and I'm "in school".

There is a distinct difference between "Knowing how to fly" and "Teaching someone to fly".  I've been blessed with an excellent "Team" of Instructors.  This morning, I'll be "monitoring" an actual "Check Ride".  Hope to learn valuable lessons in preparation for my own "Check Ride" that will be coming up pretty soon.

This flight training has been invaluable in helping me to become a better pilot.  Of course, working in time for flight training while "juggling" a very busy life is quite challenging.  I'm thankful for my flexible and dedicated instructors!

We had a wonderful day of ministry yesterday.  Enjoyed our service at our Home Church, Redeemer, and then we brought some new "Team Members" to the Hospital where we are Chaplains.  Next week will be our 15th Annual Air Mobile / UBC (University Behavioral Center) Christmas Party.  We, and the young people, are looking forward to that.

All this year, we've been studying the Book of John.  At the end of our service yesterday, Cindy asked how many wanted to accept Jesus as their Savior.  We were surprised and blessed to pray with 22 who surrendered their lives to Jesus.  Folks, this is what we live for!

Well, here we are, time to head out into this wonderful day that our Lord has made!  Pray you have a blessed day!  So appreciate your precious love, prayer and support!!

PHILIPPINES:  HERE COMES TYPHOON BOPHA....AGAIN!

Recently, the Philippines suffered a terrible blow from Typhoon Bopha.  The death toll is over 500 and hundreds of thousands have lost their homes.  With relief, residents watched Typhoon Bopha leave the Philippines and then....a slow turn and now, Typhoon Bopha is heading back and may strike the northern Philippines.

We're certainly monitoring this crisis.  I recall, several years ago, that the Philippines had 4 Typhoons in 4 weeks.  We went to there to lend a hand.  The Filipinos are, without a doubt, some of the most courageous, resilient people we have ever worked with.  Please remember to pray for those who have been devastated by Bopha and for those still in the path.

Well, it's Sunday morning in the Hurston Home.  Time to go have that wonderful cup of coffee with my Sweetheart.  We'll be heading to Church and then to the Hospital to minister with those young folks.  We pray you have a blessed day today and.....ponder PREPARATION!  If you're new to the blog, read on down to yesterday's blog for more details.

WHAT DOES 12-21-2012 MEAN TO YOU?  SOME THOUGHTS ON THE DAY...

Much has been said and there are many speculations about a day coming up in 13 days, December 21, 2012.  An ancient Mayan Calendar has sparked a broad range of ideas and even panic.

Cindy and I believe that the sun will rise on that day, we hope that the day is beautiful, and the sun will likely set, on schedule, as it has for many years.  We will likely have a nice cup of coffee on the morning of December 22nd.  However.....

The idea and even lifestyle of "Preparation" is not a bad or strange thought.  The fact is; DISASTERS HAPPEN!  It could be an earthquake, or indeed a Solar Flare or a strange twist in weather spawning tornadoes, a dam could break... and the list goes on and on.  Should such a disaster strike...suddenly, what would you and your family do?  How would you react / survive.

One thing is certain, the Government (any government) will likely not be able to save you.  Governments don't run very efficiently and for the most part, it's not a good idea to depend too heavily upon the government for help.  It's just the nature of Bureaucracies.

So, what should we do?  My simple suggestion is, begin with PRAYER.  By that I mean, simply ask our Lord what you should do.  It's very easy to just go into denial and say, "it probably won't happen..to me".  It certainly can and has around the globe again and again.

I suppose that one of the "advantages" that I might have in this matter is that I've traveled the world for over 45 years and seen and worked in some of the most terrible disasters in modern world history.  Indeed, "DISASTERS HAPPEN".  I have too many images of "unimaginable" destruction in my head....hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunami's, flooding, war, typhoons, tornadoes, nuclear melt-downs... and the list goes on and on.

So, we go back to, what should we do?  May I make a few simple suggestions?  Begin with the basics.  After prayer, which is paramount, think about food and water.  Now, folks, I could elaborate here, but there are so many excellent resources for this available both on and off line that we'll just say, have some extra food, water, flashlights, batteries, etc.

One thing that you don't want to do is "wait til the last minute".  Right now, stores are open and pretty well stocked.  Prices are not at the "gouge" level.  So....do something today toward "Preparation" for an emergency that might lie ahead.  There, that wasn't so bad.

Oh, I'd like to add this.  One of our faithful "Water Mules", Delta Rose called me recently and asked, "How do I keep the bugs out of the rice".  I had earlier suggested that one simply throw a little extra rice in a bucket.  Well, Rose is exactly right.  If you just put the rice in the bucket and leave it, certain other things will "grow" in that bucket.

There are some simple steps to follow in putting food away for "long term" storage.  If you're reading this blog, you can "Google" in the question and you'll have a host of possible solutions.  Thanks Rose for bringing that to my attention.

I'd like to add this.  If you live at or around "sea level", as we do in Florida, have an Evacuation Route in mind.  Have an escape plan.  Now, I'm not saying that Florida is going to go under water but....it could.  You see, I've seen the effects of Tsunami's around the world, some as high as 60 feet!  The are not pretty.

Florida is basically a big "Sand Bar" (at or below 30 feet above sea level).  A big wave would simply go right over the state.  Now, I don't necessarily think that that is going to happen tomorrow or even on December 21st, but remember "Sandy".   The folks in New York City and the surrounding areas didn't expect to have "water front" property from a low-level storm.

Now Folks, I certainly don't want to stir up thoughts of panic or alarm.  Simply want to share my heart on the importance of being "Prepared".  I know that for many reading this blog, it's a struggle simply providing enough food for the day.  There's not a lot, if any left over, to go out and buy a bunch of extra supplies for something that "might...or might not" happen.

However....if you're going to "err" on any side, err on the "prepare" side.  Remember that wonderful Parable about the 5 Wise Virgins and the 5 Foolish Virgins.  The main difference between them is, the Wise Virgins went shopping when the stores were still open and the oil was readily available.  They were prepared!

A wise, dear Pastor once told me, "By the inch....it's a cinch / by the yard, it's hard".  Next time you go shopping, leave the ice cream and buy a couple extra cans of soup...or rice or beans.  OK, I'm done "preaching" for the day.

Last night, had our Church Life Group over.  We do this every Friday.  Love to get together with our Church Family.

Today, we'll be attending a Memorial Service for one of our young mothers who suddenly passed away.  Please PRAY for the Hancock Family as they process the grief of their tragic loss.

It's time to get on with this beautiful day.  As always, THANK YOU for "wandering" down this daily blog with me.  We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support.  Be blessed today and....do something to be a little better prepared, you'll be glad you did.  God bless!!

RESCUER IN OUTER SPACE.....MAYBE / MORE SUPPLIES FOR HAITI / 71 YEARS AGO TODAY....LEST WE FORGET

I attended a wonderful presentation at NASA Headquarters yesterday and the subject - The Air Mobile Rescuer and funding for more testing!  The presentation went very well.

Now, there are many details that I cannot give, but I can say this.  The testing thus far has gone very well and....the testing will likely continue.  To me, this means, that the unit has truly gotten the attention of some of the best scientists in the world and we're very, very thankful for that!

Who knows, one day the Rescuer may even end up on the International Space Station (ISS).  One thing is for sure, they need clean water up there and they need a machine that is small, light, powerful and efficient, mmmmm.  Sounds like a Rescuer!

Though, we've come a long way on this project, we still have a long way to go, but....so far, so good!  The Adventure continues!

From NASA, met with Jama and Michael.  They are good friends of the ministry and just love Barbara (Rambo in the Blue Dress).  They brought down a bunch of baby beds, mattresses for the Village.  Took a few minutes and explained how the Air Mobile Rescuer works and also shared the good news about the good NASA Report.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, Peter, our 15 year old has Tae Kwon Do practice. By the way, Peter is very close to getting his Black-Belt.  During his practice time, Ariana and I head back to the Air Mobile Hangar Office.

I have taught (didn't take much) Ariana to use her imagination and make toys out of old things hanging around, like boxes, tape, bubble wrap etc.  Her little doll house has grown into a 3 story "Dream House".  Notice the 3rd story is a "Kids Against Hunger" box and the second story is a "Duckies" diaper box.  Kind of cool.

This time, she wanted a little pond for her ponies.  Just happened to have a mixed fruit container that worked just fine.  We also added an American Flag.  I know that "Toys-R-Us" hate stories like this....

Now, on to other news for the day, I am reminded that 71 years ago today, our nation was attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor.  Wars happen and will continue to do so.  Our nation lost many men and women on that infamous day and the war with the Japanese was long and bloody.

Everyone reading this blog was and is still effected by that brutal attack.  I am glad that we are now allies and friends with the Japanese.  Our Lord surely heals wounds.  Every year, veterans return to the Pearl Harbor memorial.  Fewer and fewer come, as the average age of the survivors is approaching 90 years old.  May we remember those who are remaining today.

Well, here we are on a very foggy Friday morning in Florida.  Time to go out and feed our chickens and get Peter to school.  No telling what our Lord will do today, but it is the day that He has made and I'll simply rejoice and be glad in it.

You know, I mention that because every day I read the headlines.  The news around the world, Folks, is not good.  Economies are collapsing, wars seem to be breaking out all over and it seems that more and more people are just "shaking their fists" against God.  Often, it appears that people are just "getting away with murder".  Things are NOT getting better.

The truth is....reading the news can certainly be depressing but....I remember, in the End, our Lord WINS!  HE is a faithful and just judge.  Folks who think they're getting away with stuff will be in for a rude awakening (Remember Psalm 37!).  We simply need to remain faithful and seek ways to serve Him each and every day.  This chases depression and discouragement away.  There, my little "devotional" thought for the day.

May you blessed today and as always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!  Remember, to seek to serve HIM and be a blessing to others today and....your day will go better!

BACK IN THE U.S.A. - RESCUERS READY "TO THE RESCUE"

Just like any "mission", there comes a time to come home.  Yesterday was the day our Little Donkey, Ti Burik, transported our team back to the U.S. and.... we gave a free ride to a couple of very tired missionaries.

We were up early, did a final check on the weather, filed our flite plan, loaded up and eased the throttles forward rolling down the long runway and our Little Donkey leaped into the air beginning our journey home  We put on our Oxygen masks and climbed to 14,500 feet for a smooth ride over the beautiful Caribbean.

Our Barb, had asked us to give a couple of missionaries (Sandra & Jane) from a neighboring orphanage a ride back to the U.S.  These young ladies had been "going through it".  Seems like everything was breaking and they were in desperate need of a little break.  So glad we had a couple extra seats available.

Just before departing our "Village", snapped a shot of the Rescuers that were ready for Action!  Again, so thankful for good Team Members.

Marvin did a superb job of helping me to refurbish units.  Barbara Jr. * also did a great job of piloting Ti Burik!  Folks, I was able to get some serious sleep on the journey home.  Barbara Jr. flew heavy military tankers / transports and flew 747's for United Airlines.  Nice to have such capable and well trained "Water Mules"!!

A couple of my very friends and fellow missionaries, Fred & Susan Morrissette sent me a donation recently and asked if I could find a single Mom or widow and bless with the gift.

I asked Barb (Rambo in the Blue Dress) if she knew of someone.  Immediately, she told me of Mademoiselle Davidson.  She is 15 years old and had a baby.  She desperately wanted to go school and complete her education.  Barb had been taking care of her.

So....Fred's & Susan's Gift will help pay for her school year.  When she was presented with her tuition money, she could hardly contain her joy!  She was dancing around 'like a little school girl'....which she is.  Praise God!!

So, here I am, back home and already heading back into the "thick of things".  This morning, will be presenting the Air Mobile Rescuer to a team of NASA Scientists/Engineers.  They just can't get over how well our Little Rescuer works.  Who knows.....one day our unit may even end up on outer space!!

Time to head out.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support.  Where would we be without you and so many folks that stand with us in this noble mission of bringing clean water and the Love of God around the world!!

* We refer to Barbara as Barbara Jr. because her name is also Barbara Walker.  So, we have 2 Barbara Walkers, both tough and capable missionaries.  We're blessed!!  Joe

AIR MOBILE DEPLOYS UNIT #325 - ORPHANAGE GETTING CLEAN WATER! - MARVIN BECOMES A "WATER MULE"

Our latest Air Mobile "Water Mule", Marvin, got his "Certification" yesterday.  While I was in town in meetings and deploying another Rescuer, Marvin was back at the Air Mobile Base Camp repairing and...learning a great deal about our remarkable "Rescuer".

It means so much to have folks like Marvin able to keep clean water flowing!  Not only did Marvin bring Rescuers back up to "Service Level", he discovered some neat things about the unit that will help us with future repairs. I love that!

Had several encouraging meetings with Civil Aviation Officials.  We're moving closer toward "New ATC Radios"!  So many pilots who come in and out of Haiti are praying for this!

After those good meetings, headed out to another orphanage that had a very serious need for Clean Water.  After the training was accomplished, did that famous, "First Drink".

Soon, the kids were lining up for that clean, good tasting water.  Again, Folks, as I write this, I am overjoyed with this amazing privilege to be able to bring clean water to...."The least of these" (Matthew 25).

At the end of this long day, I presented Air Mobile Rescuer #325 to Pastor and Mrs. Sincere, the Directors of this Orphanage.  What a joy!

I see the first rays of the morning sun coming over the Haitian mountains.  The roosters are crowing and it's time for that second cup of coffee.  Here we are, entering into another day that our Lord has made.  Let's see what He has for us today!

As always, I'm so thankful to you for your precious prayers, love and support!  Be blessed today!!

CHURCH AT VIERA (CAV) TEAM BLESSES "THE BARBARA" & "THE VILLAGE"

A number of years ago, I brought Joe Prussel to meet Barbara in Haiti.  He was one of our first "Water Mules".  Joe has traveled the world with Air Mobile.  He went back to his church, The Church At Viera (CAV) and told them about Barbara, affectionately named "Rambo in the Blue Dress" and the rest is history.

The CAV sends teams to the "Village" on a regular basis and... are these guys & gals GOOD!

They headed back to the U.S. yesterday, after one of their "whirl-wind" trips. Every time they come, they leave behind something really great.

Recently, not this trip, they had just arrived and I was about ready to fly back to the U.S.  They were asking, "What can we do"?  Suddenly, the idea hit me....."Make a Bridge".  You see, Barb has built quite a little "Village" with mulitple building.

Each building, of course, has a roof. The idea that came to me was to "connect" the buildings with a series of "bridges" and we would then "capture" PRIME REAL-ESTATE for meals and fellowship and training etc..  So they did!

Can't even begin to tell you how nice it is to step from one building to the other, crossing the bridge and then you're on a gorgeous deck with railing.  The air is cooler, the view is spectacular and it just lends itself to super fellowship and great meals, and spectacular, star-filled, cool evenings!

On this last trip, they made a major, huge picnic table (could easily seat 20!) and benches.  Of course they did scores of other "little things", but the picnic table is a huge blessing to us all.  THANKS CAV!!

Yesterday, had another good day in town.  Had a very productive meeting with the Director General of Civil Aviation, Captain Flambert.  We're continuing those good "on-going" discussions about the need to upgrade the Air Traffic Control radios and equipment.

In Haiti, "often...things don't happen fast".  This is the case.  We're continuing to lay the groundwork for a major equipment upgrade.  PLEASE PRAY that this happens soon, as it will dramatically improve the flow and safety of every single aircraft arriving and departing Haiti.

Meanwhile, Marvin, Bab and I will be refurbishing Air Mobile Rescuers to keep clean water flowing and stopping cholera "in it's tracks".  This is a noble mission.  Well, time to get on with this beautiful day.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love & support!!

TRAINING "WATER MULES" - DEPLOYING UNIT #324 IN HAITI

One of the greatest joys that I personally experience is in "handing over" an Air Mobile Rescuer.  Yesterday, I experienced that joy!

The day began in the Air Mobile Rescuer Refurb facility.  Keeping the 323 units in operation, in Haiti, is no small deal.  Years ago, Air Mobile pledged to support every unit in Haiti "for as long as we could".  With a lot of prayer and your help and support, we have done that.

Barbara Walker the Second, AKA "Bab" or Barbara Junior, not only helped to fly the Little Donkey to Haiti, she was in training yesterday learning how the remarkable Air Mobile Rescuer works.  This knowledge helps to "trouble-shoot & repair" units world-wide.  Also in the training process was Marvin, a solid "Fellow Aviator" and long time friend.

Barb, AKA - "Rambo in the Blue Dress" had found a nearby orphanage that desperately needed clean water.  This humble facility is located right in the "Cholera Alley", a zone subject to the dreaded disease.

So we loaded up and headed over to meet Pastor Bastien and his wife. They have built a clean and neat orphanage right in the middle of the area where literally hundreds of thousands of Haitians fled following the terrible January 12th earthquake.

As we passed through the gate, we could see that this oprhanage, Munib Foyer des Enfants was well run.  The Pastor's wife worked very hard to keep the kids clean and neat. The children, 14 of them, played and looked on with great curiosity as I trained Pastor Bastien.  The electricity for the unit will be provided by the Orphanage Truck.

Barb and Bab had obtained a list and size of all 14 children and they were handing out new shoes to each child.

Once the training was completed, the other moment that I love, "Taking the first taste". This simple act, completely convinces the "soon to be recipients" of the Rescuer that this thing really does make very dirty water clean.  The proof "is in the pudding".

Immediately following that "first taste", I asked the Pastor if he'd like a sip.  With a big smile, he joined me for that refreshing drink.

Soon, every single kid in the Orphanage had lined up for a cool, delicious drink of fresh, clean water.  Several kids came back for more.  Now, folks, this is the moment that we work so hard to reach. Again, the scripture found in Matthew 25 says it so clearly, "I was thirsty and you gave Me to drink....when you have done it unto the least of these....you have done it unto Me".  This touches our Lord's heart!

At the end of the training and the tasting comes the moment of Presentation.  With great joy and with your help, love and prayer, we presented unit #324 to Pastor Bastien and the Munib Foyer des Enfant orphanage in Bon Repos Haiti, a machine that will likely save many lives in the days ahead!  Wow!!

Well, that second cup has been joyfully consumed, the sun has risen and it's time to head out into another adventure in the Lord.  THANK YOU again for your faithful and precious prayer, love and support!!

"SEASON AIN'T OVER YET....INVEST 91-L BREWING IN ATLANTIC - NORTHERN CALIFORNIA STILL BEING SWAMPED BY THE ATMOSPHERIC RIVER & ......AIR MOBILE SLIPS INTO HAITI

First of all, you'll notice that this blog is coming to you from our Air Mobile Base Camp in Haiti.  Yes, we slipped into Haiti early yesterday morning.  Had a perfect flight, though we had a few little showers to work around.  Our Little Donkey, Ti Burik, is just absolutely amazing.  Did we have a load!!

Our team, Marvin, "Bab" and Air Mobile Joe met early, long before the sun rose, and finished "topping" off Ti Burik with fuel.  We had an amazing load of baby food, diapers, little baby beds, Christmas presents, Rescuers & parts, a big TV, printer cartridges, baby blankets and so much more!  Of course, I paid our "Airport Personnel" with Kids Against Hunger food in which they will now be able to share with others.   Love it....!!

"Bab", who is also "Barbara Walker", is an amazing pilot.  Bab flew heavy tankers in the Air Force and then flew for United Airlines (747).  It was such a blessing to be able to "hand the controls" over to her and I actually slept for a while on the flight.  We came in at 15,000 and could see a bit of "Instablility" in the atmosphere all around us.

Wow, the U.S. West Coast is still getting "swamped" by that massive "Atmospheric River" (AR).  The rains are expected to continue through the weekend.  Flooding & power outages are already occurring throughout the region.  This is not a "Super Storm", but a very long, very wet storm.  So many are in for a very hard time.  Please remember to pray and ask our Lord what you can do to help.

Meanwhile, to add to this strange weather season, we're watching the tropics and what could be the formation of "Valerie"!  The storm has been identified as "Invest 91-L", a large wave in the Mid Atlantic.  This storm, should it form, will likely (and prayerfully) not affect land or people, but it is, most unusual.

Hold on....I thought the Hurricane Season was over.  Well, Hurricane Season is a man-made period that covers about 97% of all storms.  So, for a storm to form this late in the year is quite unusual.  We've already had 19 Named Storms this year.  Remember Sandy.....how could we forget?  So, the "Season Ain't Over Yet"!!  We'll continue to watch and monitor this system.

We have a lot of work to do while we're here in Haiti.  As you know, Haiti does not have FEMA (even though many complain about FEMA, it's better than nothing), or the National Guard etc.  So, after prayer, we thought it wise and good to "Slip into Haiti" and lend a hand.

Barb (Rambo in the Blue Dress and the "Original" Barbara Walker) is doing great.  We also have another wonderful team here from The Church at Viera (CAV).  Ed, who is leading this team, told me that this is his 24th trip to Haiti following the earthquake.  So glad for folks like Ed and Bab and Marvin and hundreds of others who reach out to the "Least of these".

Well, the sun has risen.  The second cup of coffee has been joyfully consumed and it's time to get on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made.  THANK YOU for standing so faithfully with us in this mission of bringing clean water, food, medicine and...the Love of God to those who are suffering so.  God bless!!

AN "ATMOSPHERIC RIVER" (AR) PUMMELING THE WEST COAST

Up early this morning, checking the weather and see that the West Coast, primarily California, is being inundated with heavy rains & high winds.  San Francisco has reported winds of 50mph and along the Sierra Ridge, winds up to 120mph!  This is some nasty weather.  Better close those hatches tight & keep them closed because this weather is expected to last throughout the weekend.

As I mentioned earlier, all this rain will certainly replenish low aquafers, but too much of a good thing can be a huge problem.  There are multiple reports of major flooding and mudslides.  Our hearts go out to those in the midst of these terrible storms.

We continue to prepare for our "Next Mission".  Have some good friends coming to meet me and lend a hand this morning.  Time to dash out.

As always, truly appreciate your prayer, love and support.  Hope you have a blessed day and weekend. For those folks in California and the West Coast, you're in our prayers!

A "KIDS AGAINST HUNGER" STORY

The other day, fellow pilot, Chris Hall made a trip to see Bob Bostic, Director of Kids Against Hunger (KAH).  Bob is a very good friend and has a true heart for Haiti and folks who are hungry!  KAH has a wonderful history of getting very nutritious food into hungry folks quickly and efficiently.  Well, Chris picked up a good load of this incredible food for Haiti.

Now, here is where the story gets interesting.  Each of these boxes contains 30 bags of food. Each bag will feed 6 people.  So, each box contains 180 meals.  Chris picked up 30 boxes.  Our Little Ariana is sitting on 5400 meals.  That's a lot of food!!

Chris, on his next flight to Haiti will bring some of this great food to hungry folks.  We "top off" Ti Burik with these meals on every flight we make into Haiti.  As you probably know, there is a group of young men who help us unload Ti Burik every time we land in Haiti.

Well, I "pay" them with food and....give them so extra food.  Over the years, I've gotten to know these men quite well.  I've encouraged them to each think of people who are hungrier than themselves.  They all know folks who are suffering more than they.  So, this crew has become part of our "Food Distribution System".  This is a true win-win-win situation.

Bob has planted this food into Air Mobile, who then plants this food with the airport personnel who in turn, finds hungry people to give wonderful, nutritious meals all in the Name of our Lord Jesus.  In addition to giving some of this food to our "airport personnel", it also goes to orphanages, schools and churches.

Now, this load of food will go a long way toward fulfilling Matthew 25, where Jesus said, "I was hungry and you gave me to eat".  Air Mobile is particularly blessed because we also bring in Water as well as Food.  I can't begin to tell you what a blessing it is to be an instrument in the Hands of the Lord and you are a partner with us with your prayer, love and support!

Well, it's that time of the day.  Time to go feed the chickens and head out to see what our Lord has for us today.  God bless and THANKS again for standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!

FINISHED PRODUCT (DEHYDRATED) - A MUCH NEEDED GIFT FROM THE ALTERNATIVE PREGNANCY CENTER - CALIFORNIA BRACING FOR WIND / RAIN / FLOODING

Thought I'd follow up on that dehydrated food from yesterday.  Cindy put the food that she "prepared" in re-useable glass jars and now, we have long-life, beautiful vegetables, when needed.  If you're new to this "rambling" blog, simply scroll down to yesterday to read about the wonderful "Dehydrating" process for smart & economical "Prepping".

Spoke with "Rambo in the Blue Dress (our intrepid Barb in Haiti).  Food is quite scarce and hard to get in Haiti due to recent storms.  She really needs baby formula so....I made a call to our great friends at the Alternative Pregnancy Center, an outreach of First Baptist Merritt Island and....they came through with a nice load of formula and blankets and books and baby clothes.  Love those folks!!

We also received a nice load of food from our good friends at "Kids Against Hunger".  It's such a blessing to have folks ready to help!  Bob Bostic has been to Haiti with me and we so appreciate his heart to serve and lend a hand.

Just checking the weather and the rains have begun to fall in California.  The weather condition is referred to as an "Atmospheric River".  Sounds pretty intimidating.  Northern California is bracing for lots of rain, big storms and possible flooding.  We're watching and praying for those folks.

It is good when we can "track" a storm and have adequate time to prepare.  Many in California are bracing and sand-bagging, etc.

Unfortunately, many disasters are not so easy to track.  They just happen like an earthquake or a solar flare or a terrorist attack.  These are the reasons that we need to have a "Plan of Action" and some extra food and water!

As you read this "meandering" blog, you might think, "Why does Joe go and on about this stuff?"  Part of the reason is for 40+ years, I've "worked disasters" and seen what happens to the "unprepared".  Folks, you don't want to be "unprepared"!

Speaking of "Preparation", it's time for me to head out into this beautiful day and "make hay while the sun shines".  Remember, it's relatively "easy" to prepare BEFORE the disaster strikes.  Also, there's plenty of stuff available at pretty good prices if you shop it right and use those coupons (I love coupons!!)

Time to finish off that second cup of coffee (coffee is a gift from God!).  By the way, have been stocking up on extra coffee....just in case.  Have a blessed day and THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

SIMPLE PREPARATION - BIG FLOODING MAY BE COMING TO CALIFORNIA / WEST COAST

So glad to have my Cindy back.  Whoa....has she done some driving in the last 7 days.  First to Tennessee, then to Boston then to Cocoa.  She drove into our driveway yesterday evening road weary, but safe and sound.

She is up early this morning getting ready for work, but....before heading out, she was preparing more food for storage.

Dehydrating is an extremely economical & simple means of "Preparing" long term food.  Simply buy some frozen vegetable (on sale) and place them in the dehydrator.  By the way, we bought the dehydrator on E-Bay very cheap.  My Cindy is a true "Proverbs 31" Woman!!

So, after spreading out the frozen veggies, she simply inserted the tray into the Dehydrator and voila, by this afternoon, we'll have fresh, frozen vegetables all dehydrated.  We'll only need fresh clean water to bring this food "back to life".  The dehydrator does not require much electricity, so it's very economical.

There are so many ways to "Prepare" for the days ahead and....it doesn't have to cost "an arm and a leg".

Tomorrow, I'll show you what the "finished product" looks like.  It's very cool.

Now, here is another reason for you to consider getting an Air Mobile Rescuer.  Fresh, clean water WILL be a problem following most any emergency.  Storing bottled water, though good for very short term emergencies, will soon run out if the disaster turns into a long term matter.

So....having an Air Mobile Rescuer will not only provide your family with fresh clean water, but the whole neighborhood.  A single Rescuer can provide fresh clean drinking water for about 500+ people per day!

Folks, you can make a lot of friends by having such a device.  There is so much more that I could share with you.  We've brought clean water around the world and have never been "attacked" while doing so.  Seems that the folks getting the clean water will stand and protect the ones that are providing this "life-saving" service.

If you want to know more about the Air Mobile Rescuer, simply give me a call.  I'd love to tell you all about it.  My cell phone is:  321-544-7757.  We're so thankful to our Lord for putting this amazing device into our hands!

Now, just checking the weather and it looks like California and the West Coast are in for some pretty serious rainfall.  Could develop into major flooding.  This weather condition is referred to at the "Pineapple Express" and is forecast to bring a LOT OF RAIN!

A bright side to this is, many drought areas will be replenished with fresh water.  For now, we pray for those in the path of these torrential storms that are coming.  Again, PRAISE GOD for good forecasting.

Meanwhile, our two "Premier Water Mules, Dennis and Doug were diligently putting Air Mobile Rescuers together getting ready for..."The Next Mission".

Again, Praise God for folks who stand with us in this noble mission of bringing clean water to thirsty people.  This mission is dear to our Lord's heart.  Remember when Jesus said, "I was thirsty and you gave me drink"?

Well, it's time to head out into this wonderful day.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!  God bless!!

ARIANA'S FIRST DIARY

When I picked up Ariana at the bus stop yesterday, she informed me that she wanted a Diary.  After some discussion, it appears that she wants to write about the things that are going on in her life.  Mmmmm, wonder where she gets that from??

To those of you who are new to this "Wandering, Rambling Blog", Cindy and I adopted Ariana from Haiti several years ago.  She has an amazing story.  When we found her in Haiti, she was near death with a severe medical condition.

After critical surgery, funded by very generous anonymous donors, we brought her back to Haiti.  Her Parents, with tear filled eyes, asked Cindy and I to take her and raise her.  This was an amazing act of love.

Well, we've had this precious bit of joy for nearly 4 years now.  Can't even begin to tell you how sweet and loving and compassionate she is.  Surely, our Lord rescued this little one.  Cindy and I are blessed beyond measure!

Ariana loves to come to the hangar and play.  We've made many things out of boxes, tape and bubble wrap etc.  Her imagination is amazing.  It only makes sense that now, she wants to "document" her thoughts.  So, we gladly went and picked out her first Diary and now, she's beginning a new phase of expression.  I must tell, this little one has an incredibly deep love for our Lord and she knows His deep love for her!

So, as I worked in my little hangar office, Ariana began capturing her thoughts on paper in her little journal/diary.

Well, it's a beautiful day, here in Sunny Florida, though just a bit chilly this morning.  Spoke with Cindy and she's on the road, on her final leg of the journey from Boston.  We expect her home later this afternoon.  So glad that she and Juliet had that good time together and that Cindy was able to visit with her Mom.

Two of our "Premier" Water Mules, Doug & Dennis, will be building Air Mobile Rescuers today.  We're getting ready for our next "Mission", most likely to Haiti.

Time to go feed the chickens and get Peter to School.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and precious prayer, love and support.  May you be blessed today!!

PS - Just a thought....if you go shopping today, REMEMBER to buy a little extra food, i.e. beans/rice/oil/grits etc.  Pick up a couple of 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot / Lowes / Ace and pack that food away.  Pretty soon, you'll have a couple of months of extra food.  Also, pick up some bottled water (on sale).  Put this stuff in closet or something.  After a bit, you'll feel a bit more secure and ready.  It doesn't take much money to do this.  You'll be glad you did!  Just an idea, from Air Mobile Joe

PPS - Remember to write the date and contents on that bucket.  In that way, you can "rotate" your supplies.  I'll write more later on this.  Joe

INTERESTING ARTICLE ON A SOLAR "MAXIMUS" - A MUST READ - BACK AT HOME BASE

We have been sharing with you the need to PREPARE for the days ahead.  The Earth is entering into a very vulnerable period of time and....we have NO CONTROL (Except PRAYER) as to when a Massive Solar Flare could occur.

This we know, according to Scientists, we are in the season (from now until the end of 2013.  Came across this very comprehensive article on the Blaze yesterday and thought I'd share it with you.  SOLAR MAXIMUS COULD BRING CHAOS!

As you read the article, note the things that will happen should such an event (Solar Maximus) occur.  Also, realize that such events have occurred in our recent History.  In 1859 a  Massive Solar Maximus occurred affecting the entire earth.  Much more recently, we have had Solar Flares that have knocked out power and communications to large areas.  So....can it happen? Absolutely!  Will it happen?  Most likely.  What should we do?

One thing is for sure, we cannot depend upon our government, or any government to help us because, such an event will be so massive.  Our communication system, via satellites, is extremely fragile, often made up of aluminum foil and very thin and light structures.  So, the bottom line is....should such an event occur, it will be difficult if not impossible to get food, water, fuel, electricity, etc.

Just last week, a massive Solar Event occurred and fortunately....it was not pointed at the earth.  Thank the Lord.  However, this only strengthens the fact that we are definitely in the "Season".  A good idea is to, while you can, begin to lay up some extra food and water and consider a plan for a long term disruption to our electricity & food supply.  Take a look at this NBC Story - NBC ON MASSIVE SOLAR FLARE

Well, yesterday evening, our Old Bounder rolled into our driveway.  We were expecting to arrive in "Sunny, warm Florida".  Well, it was in the high 30's this morning.  Brrrrr.  It'll get warmer today.  Will be heading to the airport to get ready for our "next mission".  Will likely be back down to Haiti.  Been in touch with our intrepid, Barb, aka, Rambo in the Blue Dress.  All is quiet for the moment in Haiti, but they are in need of supplies.  So, we're getting ready.

I've been sharing, lately, a bit about those 10 Virgins found in Matthew 25.  Five were wise and 5 were not.  The main difference between the two sets of Virgins is:  The 5 Wise went to the store, while it was day and the prices were good and bought some extra oil.  The 5 Foolish Virgins waited....until it was TOO LATE!  Mmmmmm, a very good message for us today.

Please consider, even today, buying a little extra food such as rice / beans /oil /etc.  Put it in plastic bucket with a top.  Each week, add a bit more to it.  This need not be a big, complicated, expensive thing.  Believe me, you won't regret doing this.  Be sure to put a date on the bucket.  Pretty soon, you could have several months of extra food.

There is much more that we could say about this, but my best advice is....start doing something!  Above all, may we encourage you to PRAY and ask our Lord to lead and direct you through these "turbulent" days that lie ahead.  HE will surely guide you and lead you.

Time to head out into this day beautiful...but chilly, day.  As always, we so appreciate your prayer, love and support!  Be blessed today!!

OOOPS!  ON THE ROAD & FORGOT TO BLOG THIS MORNING!!

Just spoke to our good neighbor, Pat.  She and Clyde have been taking care of our chickens.  She said, 'Where's the Blog"??  Oooops....While driving well into the night and stopping in a truck stop somewhere in NC, I got up this morning and just started driving.  Simply forgot to write my "Ramblin Blog" this morning.  Well, just like my Momma used to say...."Better late than never".

So, I put Peter behind the wheel and immediately turned on the generator in the Old Bounder and at 60mph on I-95, here's my latest, to date, blog.

Well, another reason I forgot to blog is that we passed the Mighty 8th WWII Museum in Georgia.  Since we didn't have to get back in Florida at any particular time, we just went on in and spent the day in one of the most amazing museums honoring the brave young men and women who fought so valiantly for our country.

Part of our tour was conducted by Bud Porter.  Bud is 91 years old and SHARP AS A TACK!  He was a belly gunner on a B-17 and flew 11 missions over Germany.  Oh, folks, it was just like a ride through the History Channel.  Bud brought tears to our eyes with just a few of his remarkable stories.

This was, without a doubt, the most dangerous position on that mighty bomber.  Bud shared some very funny stories about his journey(s) over enemy territory with bullets and flak everywhere.  So glad we stopped and yes, I can understand how I got so distracted.. & simply forgot to blog.

Well, we're approaching some traffiic, so I'll relieve Peter, who, by the way, is doing a great job of driving.  I also spoke with my Cindy this morning and she and Juliet have already arrived in Boston.  So, better wrap it up.  Will be sure to check in bright and early tomorrow morning.  God Bless and THANKS AGAIN for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

KEEP THAT OLD WOOD STOVE BURNING - PLANTING FOR SPRING

Brrrrr....25 degrees and the old wood stove is working like a dream.  Got up throughout the evening and "threw on a log".  OK, I must admit that watching the fire is "almost" as good as watching a good movie.  We don't have Netflix or cable up here, so....watching the fire can indeed be quite relaxing and "therapeutic".

Meanwhile, I did read some stories about "Rampage" taking place at "Black Friday" sales events across the country.  Ahhh, nice to just sit and watch a fire burning in an old wood stove.  By the way, that wood stove keeps the whole cabin warm and snug.  It's nice that one can also cook on that stove.  It's much more efficient than a standard fireplace.  Nice feature in our "Retreat Cabin".

Cindy and I and the kids did quite a bit of planting yesterday.  Our first thing to plant was garlic.  Now, garlic does so many wonderful things, even though it does give bad breath.  We also planted quite a few bulbs that will give us beautiful flowers (tulips) in the spring.

Then, in the afternoon, Peter and I headed into a nearby town and found a big screen TV and watched LSU play a very sprited Arkansas team.  Just barely got out of that one.  LSU prevailed, but it was exciting until the last play of the game.

Up here in the mountains, signals just have a hard time getting through.  Early in the game, we lost the satellite signal, but Peter and I were not deterred.  We managed to get the game to "stream" on the I-Phone....big TV/little TV.  Eventually, the signal found it's way back into the mountains and we finished watching the game and it was a thriller,  The Arkansas quarterback was incredible.  Thankfully, that last play fell incomplete.  Final Score - LSU 20 - Arkansas 13.

Well, today, it's time for us to pack up and head home.  Cindy and Juliet will be driving up to Boston, where Juliet is in school.  Cindy will also be able to visit with her Mom.

Peter, Ariana and I will head back to Florida in the Old Bounder.  Have to get the kids back for school.

We've been gathering up supplies for Haiti, so we'll be winging back down there in the near future.  We hope and pray that you are Blessed for the rest of your Thanksgiving Weekend.  So appreciate your prayer, love and support.  God bless!

A BEAUTIFUL FIRE!

Got up early this morning, put on the coffee, lit the fire to warm the cabin and just couldn't leave the wood stove.  Have you ever just watched a fire in a fireplace / wood stove?  It's just so beautiful.

Cindy got up, we shared a cup of coffee and read from the Book of Revelation.  Ahhh, lazy morning.  Couldn't even imagine breaking this tranquility with a mad dash to a "Black Friday" store!  Besides, here in the mountains of East Tennessee, there aren't any stores nearby.  So glad!

Because of school and work, we'll only spend another day up here.  It's always too short a time.  But, we're so thankful to have a "Retreat Cabin" in the woods.

We'll just hang out and hike and enjoy ourselves for a bit.  The pressures and desperate needs of the world will soon be calling us back. But for now, we'll just chill out and enjoy ourselves.  Hope you have a blessed day and weekend.  We're so appreciative for your prayer, love and support.

TURKEY ABOUT TO GO IN THE OVEN - CRYSTAL CLEAR, STAR FILLED SKY - FIRE GOING...GOOD COFFEE - SO MUCH FOR WHICH TO BE THANKFUL

I recall, as a young Christian, reading a book titled, "From Prison to Praise".  A young sailor was in prison for stealing the base commander's car in a drunken rampage.  He was in big trouble, but.... our Lord got hold of his rebellious heart.  He started giving thanks to our Lord and began with his little toe and went from there.  By the end, he was truly Praising God with all of his heart.

On this Thanksgiving Day, take some time and just look around and begin giving THANKS to our Lord for all of His Blessings to you!.  You'll be surprised at how He has kept you and blessed you.  There is tremendous power and blessing in giving thanks!

I just couldn't stay in bed this morning.  Got up around 4:15, put on the coffee, lit a fire and thought about....all that I have for which to be thankful.  I could fill several books and just keep going.  We can truly praise God and give thanks in the Valleys as well as the Mountaintops.  As a matter of fact, the valleys have amazing beauty....though we may not think so at the time.  Remember Psalm 23, Yea, though I walk through the "Valley" of the Shadow of Death....Thou art with me!

I awakened this morning to the news that a "Fragile" Truce has been established between Israel and Hamas....even though 12 rockets have fallen on Israel since the Truce.  Still, we PRAY for Peace in the Middle East.

Cindy and the Kids and I had a wonderful day of just settling into our "Retreat Cabin".  We're looking forward to a beautiful and delicious Turkey Dinner today.,,,,though we are reminded of so many around the world and even in our own country who will not have a beautiful and delicious meal.  In the midst of our THANKSGIVING, WE PRAY!

We pray that your blessed today and we're so thankful for your prayer, love and support.  God Bless!!

SAFE JOURNEY(S) - EXTREMELY THANKFUL!!

So glad & thankfuf that Cindy, Peter, Juliet & Ariana all arrived safe and sound at our "Retreat" in the mountains of East Tennessee.  We're looking forward to some good food and just rest and above all, a time of THANKSGIVING!

I saw a sign yesterday:  "GET RICH QUICK!  COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!"  When we sit down and just look around us, we have so much for which to be thankful.

Even when we are going through very difficult times, just begin to inventory the blessings around you.  It is during hard times, that we often miss the blessings.  Do you recall that verse, "In EVERYTHING...give THANKS"?

Well, time to fix my Sweetheart her first cup of coffee.  She and Peter drove 12 straight hours to get here.  Be BLESSED today and above all, GIVE THANKS...you'll be surprised at just how much you have to be thankful for!!

As always, I am THANKFUL to you for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

THE BATTLE RAGES BETWEEN ISRAEL / GAZA - HAMAS "DARES" ISRAEL TO INVADE - DIPLOMATIC STALEMATE....MEANWHILE.... AHHH - "RETREAT" ARRIVAL

After Day 6, the battle continues to rage between Gaza and Israel.  After months of rockets fired into Israel, Israel reacts with strikes demanding that the bombing STOP!  Now, Hamas is "Daring" Israel to invade.  Negotiations are not going well.  Folks, again, PLEASE PRAY as this battle could truly explode affecting us all!

Late yesterday evening, I received a phone call from Tommy, our Board Member.  Theresa boarded a flight out of Tel Aviv last night heading for the U.S.  PRAISE GOD, she's coming home safe and sound.

After winding through some of the most beautiful mountains, valleys & "hollers" on earth, the Old Bounder wound up the road to the our "Retreat Cabin" in the woods.  We'll be spending Thanksgiving up here and truly looking forward to it.

This morning, I'll be picking up Juliet who will be flying in from Boston.  We've really missed "Jet".  Cindy and the kids will be joining us after school lets out later today.  They'll likely arrive early tomorrow morning...with the turkey and fixins.

I've managed to find that "Sweet Spot" in the cabin that gives just barely enough signal to get the blog out.  You may recall, during our last visit here, I spent hours and hours scouring every inch of this place looking for the "sweet spot".  Praise God, it works.

Just let's us know how DEPENDENT we've become on cell phones, internet connections and computers.  Sure would hate to loose the "connection" but....what would we do if we did?  Mmmm, food for thought.

We are using this "Retreat" as an exercise to simulate a real evacuation.  Along the way up here, I've been exploring alternate routes and airports.  Found some really cool, out of the way airports that could serve us quite well.

We know how important the Air Mobile Rescuer will be in the event of national emergency here in the U.S.  So, we are establishing alternate manufacturing locations.  We know how important clean water is following any disaster.

Well, it's time for that second cup of coffee on this chilly Tennessee morning.  Need to be heading out in a few minutes to get our Juliet, aka "Jet" or "JJ".  Pray you have a blessed Thanksgiving!  Oh, we have so much for which to be THANKFUL!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support.  God Bless!!

FIGHTING RAGES ON AS TRUCE SOUGHT - ISRAEL VOWS GROUND INVASION...IF THE ROCKETS DON'T STOP! - "RETREAT TRAINING EXERCISE"

Rockets fired from Gaza...and beyond have continued to fall on Israel.  The "Iron Dome" is working.  Israel is "gearing up" for a major invasion.  Negotiators are talking.  We are PRAYING!

Folks, this is like a "time-bomb" with a very, very short fuse!  We continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds.  Our Board Member's Wife is still over there and working on staying safe and getting home.  Please remember to PRAY for Theresa!

One last thing about Israel....One can only imagine what it is like to live, totally surrounded by people, who want your complete and utter destruction.  There is so much to this story....it began thousand of years of ago when our Lord chose the Jewish People to carry His message of hope and love to this world.  Our Lord Jesus came to us through the Jewish Blood Line.  For that, I am ever thankful!!

In 1948, after thousands of years, the Nation of Israel was re-formed.  Since then, this whole area has been a "Tinder Box".  Today, we are seeing that story still unfold.  Again, I urge you to go the Bible and read all about it.  Begin with Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 and the Book of Revelation.  You will see how prophesy's are coming about in our daily headlines.

Well, where I am today?  Somewhere in South Carolina enroute to Tennessee.  After a cold and rainy night and nearly 500 miles, me and the Old Bounder eased into a roadside park and I slept like a baby.

The Bounder was the Hurston Family "Lifeboat" when our home was destroyed by water.  Now, the Old Bounder still serves our family.  We keep the "Old Coach" in tip top condition, though it is pretty "homely" on the outside...everything works well.

So, here I am, snug, with the heater running, a fresh, delicious cup of coffee writing my little daily, wandering blog to you.

The rest of the Hurston's will be coming up to Tennessee to meet me for Thanksgiving.  Even our precious Juliet will be flying in from Boston.  We're so looking forward to this time together in the Mountains.  Hope..we get just a little snow.

In many ways, we are doing a "Retreat" exercise.  In Florida, better known as an Evacuation Plan.  With all the storms that we regularly face, it is a good idea to have a "Plan" in place.  Kind of like a "Fire Drill".  One can never prepare enough in these days.

So, for the next few days, we'll be in a spot where the phone/computer signals are spotty at best.  So...if the Blog is a bit late from time to time, just check back.  I'll do all I can to get it out each day.

Have a couple of hundred more miles to go.  Time to get this "Old Bounder" on the road.  As always, have a BLESSED DAY!  We are so thankful to you for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!!

BOMBS CONTINUE TO RAIN DOWN IN ISRAEL / GAZA - OVER 730 ROCKETS IN THE LAST 36 HOURS - IRON DOME HOLDING - PRAY FOR A CEASE-FIRE!

The situation in Israel is critical.  Bombs continue to rain down and the "Iron Dome" missile defense system appears to be holding.  It is a known fact that thousands upon thousands of missiles are aimed at Israel.  The question is:  How long could that "Dome" hold?  If there was time to pray for Israel, it is now!

Surrounding nations, specifically Iran, have made it very clear that their goal is the complete annihilation Israel.  The events that are unfolding as I type this blog, could very well lead us to that battle.

I do understand that there are serious talks taking place about a Cease-Fire.  Meanwhile, 75,000+ Israeli troops are mobilizing for a possible "ground war".  This is not good!  The truth is, thousands upon thousands of innocent victims are at extreme risk on both sides of this possible battle.  This is not the first time Israel has been "surrounded by enemies".  Jesus spoke of this in Matthew 24 and Luke 21.

That is reason that I urge you to PRAY for PEACE in the Middle East! We do not know the day or the hour that our Lord will return to this earth but...we can certainly discern the "Season".  There are so many signs taking place every day.

Several days ago, a massive Solar Flare occurred.  Praise God that it was not "pointed" at the earth!  We are entering into an extremely active "Solar Flare" Season that will peak in late 2012 and early 2013.  Another "sign in the heavens".

Cindy and I find such comfort in reading and studying the Word of God.  Just as Psalm 37 brings a great deal of peace when we see so much violence and corruption in this world.  There are many things that we do not understand, but one thing we know, is that Jesus loves us, and as we keep our eyes on Him, He will guide and lead us through the days ahead!

Well, it's Sunday morning.  Cindy had to work a shift today.  The kids are getting ready for Church, our Pastor will be picking them up.  I'll be heading up to Tennessee this morning with the motorhome.  We plan to spend Thanksgiving in Tennessee.  We have a good load of supplies that I'll be bringing up with me.  Cindy and the kids will be coming up in a few days as school lets out.  As you know, the signals are pretty "spotty" up in the valleys and hollers of Tennessee, so this daily, rambling blog, may be a bit spotty, but, I'll do all I can to get it out as the "signals" allow.

Pray you have a blessed day.  Truly love and appreciate you and THANKS for your prayer, love and support!!  God bless!!

ROCKETS HIT JERUSALEM / TEL AVIV - 75,000 ISRAELI RESERVES MOBILIZING - FULL FLEDGED WAR NEAR - ISRAEL SURROUNDED - WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

I came across this image of various capitals being under threat from rockets on all quadrants.  What would you do?  PLEASE PRAY for Israel and for peace in the Middle East.  Each day, the circumstances ratchet closer and closer to full scale war!

Rockets fell on Jerusalem yesterday as well as Tel Aviv.  Over the last few days, hundreds of rockets have been fired into Israel.  It is reported that rockets have been fired from Egypt.  This nation is fighting for it's very life.  You can see from this map, that the distances are very short.  Israel is extremely vulnerable.  Literally millions and millions in surrounding nations have sworn to the utter destruction of Israel.  Folks, this is so clearly prophesied in the Bible.  PLEASE PRAY FOR ISRAEL!

75,000 Reserves are being called up.  Israel in the fight for its life!  We must stand with them in PRAYER!!

As I have mentioned over the last few days, since 1948, when Israel became a nation, the stage has been set for these days.

I am amazed at just how little coverage these dramatic events are receiving in the Mainstream Media.  There  is a pre-occupation with General Patraeus's affair and so on.  We, as believers, need to focus our hearts and attention on the events that will bring about the Second Coming of Jesus!  May I urge you to read Matthew 24 and hear how our Lord Jesus tells of the events that will lead to His Second Coming.

Well, it's that time.  Need to head out to receive some excellent training today.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

PRAYING FOR PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST - ROCKETS FIRED INTO TEL AVIV!

Rockets fell in Tel Aviv yesterday.  Things are certainly heating up.  Been in touch with my Board Member, whose wife, Theresa, is still in Israel.  We're praying for their safety and safe return home.  Please join us!

The Egyptian Prime Minister has traveled to Gaza and Israeli ground troops are amassing for possible ground deployment.  Believe me, these are serious actions taking place!  We PRAY!

The Middle East has been a tinder box for all of my life, but as one reads the Bible, it is clear that major world wars will occur in this region.  These wars will lead to the Second Coming of Jesus!  Could this be the battle that sparks the chain of events to hasten the return of Christ?  Could be.  At any rate, it behooves us watch & pray!

Hundreds of thousands of innocent victims on both sides of this battle stand in harms way.  A Bomb  does not discriminate.

Tensions are very high and the bombs are still falling as I type.  One can only imagine what it must be like to be completely surrounded by enemies who want only to see your complete destruction.  Again, we are urged to PRAY for the Peace of Israel!!

Meanwhile, back here in Florida, Air Mobile continues to gather supplies and prepare for our next mission.  Got news yesterday, that our dear friend and brother in the Lord, Ray Hall was in the hospital.  Ray is the Founder and President of Prison Book Project ministry.  His great organization has placed millions of quality books behind bars, including thousands of Bibles into the Hospital where where Cindy and I are Chaplains.

Thank God that Ray is resting and recovering well after a very close call (ruptured appendix).  I captured Ray and his buddy "Hector the Bear" yesterday.  He explained just how good it felt to "feel good".  I certainly understand that.  Please continue to pray for the full recovery of Ray!!

Today, will be heading over to Tampa to pick up a certain "Little Donkey".  Had the new winglets painted by Hawk Aviation.  We're moving ever closer to the complete restoration of our precious mission aircraft.  The only thing we lack now are the "stripes".

Time to head out into this beautiful day.  PLEASE remember to pray for Peace in the Middle East, along with Theresa, and for Ray's full recovery.  As always, we're so THANKFUL for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

IS WAR BREAKING OUT BETWEEN ISRAEL & PALESTINE?  ROCKETS FALLING / PEOPLE DYING

The Middle East has always been an extreme hot-spot in the world.  The Bible speaks so clearly of prophetic events that will lead up to the Second Coming of Christ.  Yesterday, some intense events occurred that could very well lead to "All Out War".    Blood has been shed on both sides.  May I urge you to pray for the peace of Israel!

One of our Air Mobile Board Member's wife is in Israel at this time.  We are monitoring the situation very closely.  Please remember to pray for Theresa and her team as they seek direction as to what to do.  THANK YOU!

Had the wonderful opportunity to share the Word of God with a group of "Seasoned Saints" called the O.W.L.S. (Older-Wiser-Loving-Saints) yesterday.  Had a few minutes before speaking, so I found a beautiful lake and just spent some time "Waiting on God".  It was a sweet thing to do.  Often, we're so busy and our schedule is demanding that it is easy to miss simply "Waiting on the Lord".

I can speak for myself....need to do this more often.  Likely, the day will go better as we spend that precious time with our Lord.

Had a good day handling "logistics" for our next mission.  The Hurston family is planning to spend Thanksgiving in Tennessee.  We're really looking forward to that!

Met with Doug, one of our Premier Water Mules yesterday.  Went over his next "assignment".  He'll be rebuilding our Oxygen Cart.  This is important because we "Tank Up" our Oxygen system on the Little Donkey prior to every flight.  Again, we're so glad to have Doug down in "Sunny Florida" for the winter.  You know how I truly praise God for the way "He deploys His troops"!

Getting to be time to head out.  Will be working on our old Bounder motorhome preparing for our trip to Tennessee.  Have Richard Levesque, one of the best "electrical guys" I know helping me.  The Bounder is now 20 years old and parts are simply not available.  So....we'll be "improvising" to get the Cruise Control working.  Please pray that we're successful.

God bless and always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support.  Please remember to pray a special prayer for protection and wisdom for Theresa and her team over in Israel.

SPEAKING TO SOME "O.W.L.S." - LEARNING PATIENCE, LEARNING TO "WAIT ON GOD"

This morning, I will have the privilege to speak to some "Seasoned Saints" or better known as the O.W.L.S. aka Older-Wiser-Loving-Saints.  These folks, at Space Coast Assembly of God keep asking me to come back and share.  I wonder if they're just "waiting...patiently" for my messages to get better?

It's always a joy to share what our Lord is doing in my heart with these "Veterans of the Cross".  This morning, will be sharing about the wonders that our Lord has been showing me in Psalm 37 and the significance and beauty of learning to "Wait, Patiently upon the Lord".

This is a message that I so desperately need to learn myself.  You see, in life, there is a time to move "quickly and decisively".  A good example is in the cockpit of an aircraft.  IF an Emergency situation occurs, the pilot MUST respond quickly, decisively and properly or....the consequences could be disastrous.  That is where good training comes in.  I believe that certain "kinds of folks" become pilots.  Ones who like adventure and "fast action....speed".  Airplanes generally fly pretty quickly and demand rapid responses.

Now....in life, one cannot always react with such "lightening responses".  Many times, we need to seek and wait on the Lord.  This is difficult for many of us to do, because our society is moving faster and faster.  We often, myself included, don't take the time to not only pray, but to listen to and WAIT on our Lord.  PATIENCE is a hard lesson to learn.  I am asking our Lord to bless me with greater quantities of Patience!

Along with Patience comes trust.  For you see, our Lord is absolutely trustworthy.  Even when we see and experience things in this life that are absolutely unfair, or just plain wrong, we need to remember that our Lord knows exactly what is going on and He will bring about His perfect judgement in His perfect time.  That is where Psalm 37 comes in and lets us know again and again that our Lord will have HIS way in the end.  We need to trust and wait on our Lord with Patience...and Faith.

Oh, by the way, I believe our Lord fully understands the heart of the pilot because..... He gave us Isaiah 40:31, "Those that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength....they will soar on wings like eagles"!  Thank you Lord!!

There....my message for the day.  Believe me, I'm preaching to myself.  As I read the headlines, it appears as if a whole new force of evil and craziness is sweeping over our world.  It is difficult not to get upset.  But....we must trust our Lord and wait on Him and allow Him to direct our paths in the way that He would have us to go.

So, today, after speaking with the O.W.L.S., it will be another day of gathering supplies, getting machines prepared that clean dirty water and...."Waiting on our Lord" and seeking His direction for me.  I must remember that "This is the day that our Lord has made....and I choose to rejoice in it".  I pray you have a blessed day.  THANKS again for wandering down this meandering blog with me!

18 SWEET YEARS....MARRIED TO AN AMAZING "LADY OF GOD"!

I can't begin to tell you how THANKFUL to the Lord I am for sending Cindy into my life.  She is simply an amazing Believer and a strong and courageous woman of God!

Yesterday evening, we had a "Candlelight Dinner" in our Extreme Living Room.  Peter and Ariana served our meal and afterward, performed with dance and music.  It could not have been any sweeter at any restaurant on our planet.

THANK YOU, My precious Cindy, for putting up with me for these 18 years.  I love you!!

I am making it a point to read Psalm 37 every day.  This morning, I focused on verse 7:  "REST in the Lord and WAIT PATIENTLY on Him; DO NOT FRET because of him who prospers in his way....because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass".

There are times when it looks like certain folks simply "Get away" with stuff.  It is very natural to say, "How can that happen"? or "That's not right".  We have all faced these circumstances at some time or the other in our lives.  There is a tremendous consolation through all of this.  Our Lord SEES & WILL bring His judgement in His time.  We can "REST & WAIT PATIENTLY & DO NOT FRET".  Ahhh, I feel better already.

Again, may I encourage you to read Psalm 37 frequently.  It will absolutely help one to navigate through difficult times.  In reading and meditating on Psalm 37, we find PEACE, JOY & STRENGTH in the midst of a crooked and perverse world!

As you know, Air Mobile is supported by "Water Mules" from all walks of life.  I am so pleased that one of our "Premier Water Mules", Doug wandered back down to Florida yesterday (Doug's a "Snow Bird).  Folks like Doug are the strength of Air Mobile.  Welcome back, Doug!

Today, we'll be preparing more water purifiers for service and arranging supplies for our next mission.  I already have a good assignment for Doug the Water Mule.  He'll be re-building our Oxygen Cart.  So glad Doug's back!

Time to head out.  So appreciate you!  THANKS again for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

REMEMBERING....OUR VETERANS

Today, we honor our Veterans and thank God for them!  My father served in World War II and Cindy's little brother gave his life for our freedom in Beruit.  Many, who are reading this blog today have been blessed by those who have served our country.  Praise God for America and for our Veterans!

Yesterday evening, after a long day, Cindy and I just quietly read Psalm 37 again.  Just can't get over how rich that one Psalm is!

We all experience injustices in our lives and it is only natural to wonder what will happen to those who do these unfair things.  Well, just read this Psalm again and "Wait on the Lord".  He is absolutely just and above all, he is merciful and graceful.  For you see, we have all "sinned and come short of the glory of God".

Today, will be working again on getting Air Mobile Rescuers "ready for action".  Oh, heard from the aircraft paint-shop in Tampa.  They have agreed to paint the new wing tips on Ti Burik.  The only thing lacking will be final "stripes".  Steadily, we make progress on our Little Donkey.

About to have that second cup of coffee with my Sweetheart!  Today, we mark 18 years of marriage.  Can't begin to tell you how grateful I am to the Lord for giving me Cindy!

You have a blessed day today and THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!

BE PATIENT....WAIT ON THE LORD!

I have given a great deal of thought to the blog of yesterday (read on down) titled "Fret Not".  What a wonderful message for us all.  The main theme is that the Lord does indeed see what is going on and indeed, HIS will, will be done, in His time and in His way!

Patience is a wonderful virtue, along with trust.  Our society has become more and more expectant for "Instant gratification".  It is often the same way with our Lord.  "I want Patience, Lord and I want it right now!"  I am guilty of this.

Often, I will sling out a series of prayer requests and I'm moving so fast,  and soon forget even what I prayed for.  Just keep going down the road "slinging" out request after request.  There comes a time for us to slow down and quietly and patiently "Wait on the Lord".

Folks, there are hundreds of beautiful scriptures that urge us to do this.  Our Father is reaching out to His children with this powerful message.  But here is a verse in a Psalm, that our Lord has directed me to, this day.  Psalm 27:14...

I love it when our Lord repeats something.  It means that we really, really need to listen and get the message.  "Wait on the Lord....Wait, I say on the Lord".

Now, as we PRAY about certain matters, such as "Oh Lord, let the truth come out" or "Lord, this is just not right, please do something about it!", etc. etc.  We must remember that our Lord does hear our prayers and that He too knows exactly what it going on and....HE KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR US!!  We must learn (me included!!), to "Wait on the Lord and Fret Not!"!

There, I just had to share that with you this morning and when I share it, it flows through my old "impatient" heart, and our Lord calms me down.  We need to simply "Wait on the Lord" and trust Him!

Peter, Ariana and I had a very productive time of chores yesterday.  One of my tasks was cleaning out the chicken coop.  Oh, we love our chickens and they give us delicious eggs every day!  I captured, in this shot, our cat "Beau", just looking at some of our chickens.  They were just looking at each other....wonder what they were thinking....hmmmm.

After the good day of chores, Peter and I headed to "Dogs-R-Us" for our Saturday evening Tradition of some good football.  Yes, LSU won and Peter and I, and Sam, my eye doctor, and fellow football fan, just had a great time enjoying ourselves.  I must admit, it is more fun when your team wins.

Well, it's Sunday morning.  Time to head to church and then to the hospital to minister with the young people who are "locked up".  May I urge you to ponder again Psalm 37 and Psalm 27 along with me.  It is a great and encouraging message.....Fret Not and Wait on the Lord!

As always, THANK YOU for your love, prayer and support.  May you blessed today!!

"FRET NOT".....A MESSAGE OF ENCOURAGEMENT!

The other day, I had the privilege to speak to a group of High School Students who are very interested in Aviation and particularly, "Mission Aviation".  In preparation, our Lord directed me to Psalm 37 and specifically, verse 4, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart".  Oh, this is a wonderful scripture that is just so rich in meaning and blessing, but.....

As usual, in putting verse 4 into "context", began reading verses 1-3 and WOW!  It began  with "DO NOT FRET because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.  For they shall soon be cut down, like the grass and wither as the green herb.  Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness"!

In reflection on the U.S. Election, my heart has been broken by some of the crudeness and open "evil".  Cindy and I will never condone or agree with abortion, which is simply killing an innocent baby.  No matter how you look at it.  It is, what it is.  There are many other "platforms" that were adopted that are just 100% contrary to what we believe.  So....now that the other party has the mandate to continue for another 4 years, what do we do?

My heart has just been grieved by this prospect when....our Lord came to me and assured me that He sees and knows everything and that He will bring His righteousness to pass in His time.  He simply tells us to:  "Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness".  OK, with HIS help and GRACE & MERCY, we can do that!

By the way, as I read on down Psalm 37, it just kept getting better and better.  Verses 7-9 say:  "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently on Him; DO NOT FRET because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; DO NOT FRET-it only causes harm.  For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth."

Believe me, as you read down Psalm 37, it just gets better and better!  For example, verse 23-25 says:  "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.  Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.  I have been young and now am old; Yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging for bread".

There is so much in this one Psalm.  I just had to share a few of the "nuggets" with you.  At the end of this blog today, I'll post the entire Psalm so that you may read it in it's entirety if you care to.  It will BLESS YOU!

Yesterday, flew our Little Donkey over to the Tampa to have have the paint job completed.  Received some sad news.  The paint job that is on the airplane was not done very well and the shop felt that they could not just put the stripes on it and do the other touch up work.  That was not good news but....The Little Donkey flies just fine with the paint job that it has.  We'll worry about the stripe and the touch ups at another time.

Today, Peter, Ariana and I will be doing chores around the house and then....this evening, we'll head over to "Dogs-R-Us" for a little football.  Our beloved LSU Tigers really gave, Number 1, Alabama a "run for their money" last week, and almost beat them.  This evening, LSU will play Mississippi State who is having a pretty good season.  Should be a good game!

Time to get on with the chores.  We pray that you have a blessed day today and....'DON'T FRET!  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support.  Read on down for the Psalm 37 in it's entirety.  You'll see what I mean by it being a "TREASURE COVE"!  God bless!

The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked

A Psalm of David.

37 Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.
For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
But it shall be no more.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword
And have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To slay those who are of upright conduct.
15 Their sword shall enter their own heart,
And their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous.
18 The Lord knows the days of the upright,
And their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish;
And the enemies of the Lord,
Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.
Into smoke they shall vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows and does not repay,
But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth,
But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lends;
And his descendants are blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good;
And dwell forevermore.
28 For the Lord loves justice,
And does not forsake His saints;
They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
And dwell in it forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,
And his tongue talks of justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;
None of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watches the righteous,
And seeks to slay him.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand,
Nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the Lord,
And keep His way,
And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power,
And spreading himself like a native green tree.
36 Yet he passed away,[a] and behold, he was no more;
Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;
For the future of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;
The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.

WINTER STORM ATHENA "BLOWS & SNOWS" LEAVING MORE SUFFERING IN HER WAKE - WINTER STORM BRUTUS HEADED FOR WEST / MID WEST...MARCHING EASTWARD!

The folks in the Northeast are being "hammered" by the weather!  First Hurricane Sandy brings death, widespread destruction and massive power outages.  Then, less than a week later, Winter Storm Athena brings more high winds (60mph+) in many areas and deep and brutal snow.  Those that were fortunate to get their power back after Sandy have lost it again due to Athena.  This is a brutal trial for so many!

Clean-up is hindered and I can only imagine what so many are experiencing.  Right now, for many, the main goal is to stay warm and safe.  The clean-up and rebuild will come later.  Just trying to move around and "get back to work" is a huge challenge for many.

Folks in the Northeast certainly know how to deal with Snow Storms, but when it is all added together and stacked up with Sandy, it becomes simply brutal!  PLEASE, take a moment and PRAY for those who are suffering!

Looking at the nation overall, another brutal Winter Storm by the name of Brutus is marching from the West, Eastward.  We'll keep an eye on that one.  Looks like "Winter" has arrived quite early!!

Meanwhile, we are making steady progress on getting the supplies and parts for our Air Mobile Rescuer.  Stopped into our local Walgreens and our Favorite Pharmacist, Kathy, blessed Air Mobile with enough syringes for the next batch of units and for many that are in the field!  Thanks Kathy & Walgreens!

You may recall, that Kathy helped to link Air Mobile up with the "perfect" syringe to inject CLR (Calcium - Lime - Rust) to help clean the insides of the Rescuer.  This wonderful addition will help keep Rescuers in good operation world-wide.

Yesterday, we met with a family that secured an Air Mobile Rescuer about a year ago.  Now, they want another unit to help provide clean drinking water for their "Community" in the event of a disaster.  I quickly modified their unit with the new "T-Valve".  I am so blessed by folks who want to help others in "hard times"!  Praise God!!

Later yesterday, Peter had an event at his High School and Ariana and I spent some time at the hanger with Ti Burik.  She really loves our Little Donkey!

Speaking of the Little Donkey, today, I'll fly over to the Tampa Area to get get the paint job finally finished.  The company that began the paint job went out of business before the job was complete.  Another company has stepped forward and offered to finish the paint job.

Praise God!  Ti Burik is already beautiful, but is about to get even more beautiful.  You know, in the same way, our Air Mobile Rescuer is already a great machine and now, with the addition of this T-Valve, it has become an even GREATER MACHINE!  Thank the Lord for good ideas and willing folks to help!!

So, it's that time of the day, need to head out.  We are so appreciative to you for your faithful prayer, love and support!!  God bless!!

NORTHEAST ROCKED & SHIVERING FROM WINTER STORM ATHENA - GUATEMALA ROCKED BY 7.4 EARTHQUAKE / HUNDREDS FEARED DEAD

As, now named, Winter Storm Athena, roared ashore with 50-60 mph winds, recently restored power went out again.  This time, the storm brought frigid temperatures and snow.

Still, for many, power has not been restored the first time.  This storm is adding misery to misery to the "Hurricane Sandy" ravaged area.  Efforts are being made to provide emergency housing to more than 40,000 in New York. The Northeast is going through some very, very hard times!  PLEASE remember to pray for those who are suffering so!

Central America was rocked yesterday by a 7.6 Earthquake just off the coast of Guatemala.  This was Guatemala's largest quake since 1976.  Hundreds are feared dead as rescuers dig survivors out of the rubble.  This story is unfolding.

Guatemalans are no strangers to Earthquakes and natural disasters.  The quake was felt from Mexico City to Costa Rica.  Guatemala and the rest of Central America are susceptible to earthquakes because of the movement of at least four tectonic plates, including the Cocos and Caribbean Plates.

Meanwhile, we are endeavoring to get as many Air Mobile Rescuers ready for action as possible.  Rob and our latest "Water Mule" were busily assembling Rescuers.

Our only limitation on building Rescuers is funding.  Please consider donating to this noble and worthy mission!  Remember, each $100 donation gives you a chance at spending a week in our Extremely Unique Home over the Christmas Holidays.  Perhaps, you know someone who could really use a nice "get-away".  Should you win, you could give the week to someone who really needs it!

While Rob and our newest "Water Mule" Recruit were building Rescuers, I was just up the road from our Assembly plant speaking to a group of students from Merritt Island Christian School, who have a particular interest in Aviation.  I, truly love speaking to Students about serving the Lord with their talents!

Today, I'll be speaking with a group of family and neighbors who will be considering coming together and purchasing an Air Mobile Rescuer (s) for their community.  The bottom line is:  our best line of protection is in the PREPARATION before the disaster strikes!

Remember the 5 Wise Virgins mentioned in Matthew 25!  The main difference between the WISE & THE FOOLISH is:  The 5 Wise Virgins secured and bought the extra oil while it was still daylight, the stores were open & the price was, also likely, pretty reasonable.  Hmmmm, another argument for PREPARING IN ADVANCE AKA "PREPPIN"!

Well, it's that time.  Need to head out into this new day that our Lord has made.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!! God bless!!

AMERICA VOTED - "ALL THINGS" WORK TOGETHER....

Cindy and I watched the results of the Election 2012 last night.  At the end of the evening, a scripture kept going through my mind and my heart.  Romans 8:28 - "ALL things work together for the good, to those that love God, those the called according to His purpose".

The election did not turn out the way we wanted, so what do we do?  We Love the Lord, we prayerfully seek His direction every day and we serve Him.  Sounds like a good plan.

If we do this, according to His Promise, He will cause ALL things to work together for the good.  That does not mean that we will not have hard times or "storms".   The Good News is that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us.  So....life goes on.

This morning, I'll be speaking at Merritt Island Christian High School to a group of students who have great interest in Aviation.  It will be a joy to share my own love for Aviation and tell the story of how, since a little boy, have wanted to fly and now, I fly for His glory!  God is Good!!

Dennis and Rob, our faithful "Water Mules" will be assembling components for the Air Mobile Rescuer.  We do not know what the days ahead hold for us.  We do know that the best plan is to be "Prepared".  One thing that is very much needed, following most any emergency is:  Clean drinking water.  The Air Mobile Rescuer can provide clean drinking water to hundreds of people every day.

May I encourage you, this day, to simply love God and seek His direction and remember Romans 8:28.

This is "The day that our Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it"!  PLEASE, also, remember to PRAY for our nation and our leaders.  Cindy and I truly THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!  Be blessed today!

ELECTION DAY IN THE U.S.A.!!  PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY & THEN VOTE!! NORTHEAST BRACING FOR ANOTHER STORM -UGANDA UNIT GETS UPDATED

So thankful that we have the opportunity to have a "Say-So" in our government.  What a blessing and a privilege to be able to prayerfully help select our leaders.  Let us pray together that today will go smoothly and safely as millions and millions of Americans go to the polls today to VOTE!

Meanwhile, the jetstream is pushing a lot of moisture and instability across the southeast and it will be making that turn to the north and bringing rain and winds up to 50mph to the Hurricane Sandy stricken areas.

Please remember to pray for those folks that have been so devastated and still suffering from the weather.  On the west side of that storm will be frigid temperatures and wet snow.

I scheduled to meet with the Jackson's yesterday.  About a year ago, they funded and placed an Air Mobile Rescuer in Uganda.  Recently, the unit failed to operate properly so a visiting missionary brought it home.

We quickly diagnosed & repaired the problem and....added the new "T-Valve".  This will enhance the operation of the Rescuer.  I pray that we can eventually modify every unit that we have in the field world-wide (over 800 units in operation in 40+ countries).

Yesterday evening, had an excellent flight training session with Glen and gained some invaluable additional information for preparation from Darrell, another instructor.  We're back on course toward securing that Certified Flight Instructor rating.

Have to "juggle" things around to keep all these irons in the fire & try to keep things in  "balance".  This "old dog" is constantly learning new tricks!

It's time to get ready and head out to VOTE!  I pray that you do the same thing, if you have not already done so.  We'll likely be up very late this evening following the results.  Today, is so important for our nation, can't emphasize enough how significant your PRAYER & VOTE IS!

As always, we so appreciate your prayer, love and support.  May you be blessed today!

NORTHEAST EXPECTING STORM BRINGING MORE WIND & RAIN - CLEANING UP...WITH HELP FROM VOLUNTEERS - TROPICS QUIET -24 HOURS UNTIL ELECTION DAY -PLEASE PRAY / PLEASE VOTE!

Between Wednesday and Friday of this week, the Northeast will get hit again with winds and rain.  Meanwhile, folks are cleaning up with a lot of help from volunteers.  Slowly, help is arriving into the most hard-hit areas.

Slowly, electricity is being restored.  Time for many to brace for the next storms that may bring 35+mph winds.  We pray for all those that have been so devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

We, at Air Mobile, are praying about how we can help.  We're monitoring the "water" situation in the affected areas.  "Boil Water" alerts are in effect for many of those areas.  Bottled drinking water seems to be readily available in most areas.

We're continuing to gather up the parts for Rescuers (as much as our funds will allow).  We know that Hurricane Sandy is just another "Wake-Up" call for us to be PREPARED for the Storms that will surely come.  Folks, it is not a matter of IF but WHEN!

We're in the final few weeks of Hurricane Season and the Tropics are relatively calm today.  Thank the Lord!  There is a little activity on the Mexico / Baja coast named "Invest 90-E", which is bringing a lot of rain to that area.

As we look at the Scorecard for this Season, we can see that there has been a lot of activity.  Of course, Hurricane Sandy, though not very strong, was huge and backed up that water causing so much destruction.

Remember, tomorrow is ELECTION DAY!  May we urge you to PRAY & VOTE!  Your vote does make a difference in the direction of our country!

Well, it's time to head out.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

AIR MOBILE BACK TO U.S. - SUCCESSFUL MISSION TO HAITI...THANK GOD!

Got up early yesterday morning, checked the weather and decided it would be a good day to head back to the U.S. -   Mission Accomplished....for now.

Brought the Haiti inventory of Rescuers back up to the level necessary to support the units in the field.

Arrived at the Port-Au-Prince airport right on schedule.  Loaded my cargo, processed the outbound paper work, received the Take-Off Clearance and eased the throttles forward on Ti Burik.  The Little Donkey leaped into the air.  Made my traditional "Low Pass" over the Village to bid farewell and turned toward home.

Climbed through a valley between some 5500 foot mountains and continued the climb to 16,500 feet.  My cargo consisted of a bunch of empty toner cartridges from Samaritan's Purse.  There is something so "majestic" about flying alone.  I do feel just "a bit closer to the Lord".

Ti Burik is flying like a dream.  The real test, however, would be when I reached the north coast of Haiti and contacted Miami Center.  Would they be able to see me?  Remember the Transponder that we repaired at the MAF hangar on Friday?  The only way to test it would be with Miami, as Haiti has no radar.....yet.

Upon reaching the North Boundary of Haiti, I contacted Miami Center.  They saw me "Loud & Clear".  The transponder worked just fine.  Nice to be seen, particularly when traversing 800 miles of ocean through "The Bermuda Triangle"!

Fought those same cross winds out of the west all the way home, but, landed right on the projected minute.  Love flights like that.  Quickly cleared Customs at Fort Pierce and made the quick hop to my home base.  Ahhh, nice to be home.

Headed to the house and laid down for a little rest.  Yes, Peter and I, along with Christian and his whole family met at Dogs for the "Big Shoot-Out" between LSU & Alabama.  What a game.  Looked like LSU had it, but Alabama scored with just 51 seconds remaining.  Ugh, that hurt.  Here is one of my precious grand-daughters, Selah, all decked out in LSU garb (she's a real cutie!!!).

Folks, let's continue to pray for those in the Northeast that have just been devastated by Hurricane Sandy.  Just read something this morning about FEMA running out of clean water.  We're researching that story today.

Please consider helping us to fund more "Rescuers" for just such situations!  Remember, each $100 Donations gives you a chance at the week in the Hurston Extreme Home over Christmas.  Should you win, you might even want to donate the week to your favorite missionary or relief worker!

Also, I'm sure you have plenty of reminders, but be sure to VOTE on Tuesday.  This is such an important election!  Have a few extra minutes to really enjoy that second cup of coffee.  Today, we "fell back" and got that extra hour.  Pray you have a blessed day and as always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS....TO RESCUE "RESCUERS"

Down in the little cargo pod on Ti Burik is a special antenna for our transponder. This wonderful device helps to identify our aircraft for Air Traffic Control and other aircraft.  While flying down to Haiti on Wednesday, my transponder went "dead".  Hmmmm.

Yesterday, I went to the airport and met up with some of my great friends and fellow aviators from Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).  Showed up, just as they were putting on the new numbers for their latest aircraft for their fleet, a beautiful Cessna Caravan.

They had just gotten the approval from the Haitian Government to operate "HH-VAN" in country.  Had to capture the moment with a photo!

I showed them my problem and they went to work on getting our transponder "transponding".  First David methodically dis-assembled the cable.  Then, he had to jump in a plane and fly to Mole St. Nicolas.

Michael took over.  Michael and I became solid friends right after the Haiti earthquake in 2010.  Our friendship has been forged with a lot of memories and "God" moments.

These guys are not only great pilots, but they're great mechanics!  So thankful to our Lord for putting such a support team right here in Haiti.  Surely....."Our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"!!

We connected the repaired cable and when it's time to head home, Miami Center will be able to clearly "see" Ti Burik.  That's a good feeling when one flies nearly 800 miles over the ocean.  THANKS MAF!!

Because these guys help to keep our Little Donkey in the air, they ultimately help us to keep clean water flowing.  Had a wonderful day in the Refurb "Lab" here at our Base Camp.  Upon arrival on Wednesday, I identified 8 units that needed repair.  So glad to say, that we got them all up and going.  Praise God!

Also added the new "T-Valve" to each unit so that the operator can now perform a cleaning function that used to be tedious and difficult.  Now, it's a "snap"!  So thankful for "God-Inspired ideas.

Well, it's bright and early.  Had a wonderful nights sleep.  No fever, appreciate you praying.  It's a beautiful day and one that I'm excited to plunge into.  We'll see what our Lord has for us today.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithfully standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!

PICKING UP THE PIECES - THE SLOW, PAINFUL PROCESS OF REBUILDING - PROGRESS IN HAITI- RESCUING "RESCUERS"!

Have seen it more times than I care to remember.  Walking into the storm area after the strike.  So much destruction.  One wonders how we would get through such a disaster.  It begins with slowly, picking up the pieces and putting things back together.  The U.S. East Coast is doing that now.  Help is flooding into the region, some areas getting help more slowly than others.  But, help is coming!

We certainly pray for those in the wake of this terrible storm and know that for many, life will never be the same.  For most, they will put their lives back together and with our Lord's help and grace, things will be better!  With God, all things are possible!  I've seen it over and over again.

Yesterday, I delivered some supplies to Samaritan's Purse.  Always good to see my brothers and sisters with that great organization.  On the way back to our mission, I stopped in my favorite "Tent City", Caanan II and visited with a couple of my old friends there.  The remarkable thing is....it's becoming less and less of a "Tent City".  There are very few "Tents" remaining.  I see a lot of little "Block & Wood Houses".  A lot of permanent structures.

I recall, so well, pulling into this place immediately following the earthquake.  Over 5500 folks were huddled on the side of this mountain under scraps of tarp and plastic and old discarded tin roofing.  No water / no food / utter desperation.  Over the last few years, I've seen this hillside gain permanency and stability.

There is a reliable source of water.  I remember crying when I saw the big tank installed.  I had just broken my leg and was on crutches when the the water began to flow into Caanan II.  There is now a very nice school and literally hundreds of houses and little stores.  Several Churches have been planted here.  Very little government help has come into Caanan II, but a lot of generous and loving volunteers have made life bearable here.  As I walked through the community, I simply smiled and thanked our Lord for His grace and love!

Just outside of Caanan II, I observed, while flying in on Wednesday, a brand new canal.  Wow, was that thing put in FAST!  It relieves 2 of the major rivers on the north side of Port-Au-Prince and this canal saved many lives.  Whoever was the behind this new canal....BRAVO!!

Headed back to the Air Mobile Refurb Center and began the work that I truly love, bringing Air Mobile Rescuers back up to service.  Our inventory had gotten down to 2 units remaining.  That is the MINIMUM level so....a couple of days ago, when I pondered where to go - the answer was Haiti!

Had a very good day yesterday.  The inventory level is now 6 and counting.  Also, got another unit in the village up and going.  Will continue to get the remaining units up and in good operation.  I still marvel at the beautiful design of this unit that allows full remanufacturing!  We can keep Rescuers going world wide in this manner....and we do!  Folks, this represents a lot of clean water!!

Installed the first new "T-Valve" on a Haiti unit yesterday.  It was a bit of an historical event for me.  We are now on a quest to get that new "T-Valve" installed in every Rescuer that we can find in Haiti.

During the remanufacturing process yesterday, I found a unit that had a clogged orifice due to calcium build up.  So, had the opportunity to actually perform the "Operation".  I gave the unit an "Injection" of CLR (Calcium - Lime - Rust) and VOILA!!  It cleared the passage right out without the tedious process of dis-assembling the unit to get to the little orifice!  PRAISE GOD!  The system really works!

I found out something more about this "God Inspired" idea.  Not only could I "inject" the CLR right to the heart of the problem, but I could push on the syringe to inject the CLR and then pull back on the syringe to suck it back out again and then push it again, thus clearing the blockage in record time.  Wow, IT IS BETTER THAN I THOUGHT!  Notice the silly grin on my face.  I'm really stoked about this!

Well, it's another beautiful day.  Had a bit of a hard time sleeping last night.  Just wasn't feeling very well.  Think I might have even had a little bit of a fever.  So, I slept a little later this morning and this blog is just a bit behind my usual schedule.  Prayed last night and today, feel much better.

Have some Rescuers that need to be "RESCUED".  Looking forward to working in my little lab.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!  May you have an extremely blessed day!!

THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE SANDY - A LONG "TRAIL" OF SUFFERING - QUIETLY "SLIPPING" INTO HAITI

Going back in the blogs to October 22nd (simply scroll down), we talked about "Invest 99-L".  We began tracking that storm and watched and prayed, as it "Organized" and formed into what became known as "Hurricane Sandy".  Storms happen!

The path of Sandy ravaged Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, the Bahamas and.....the East Coast.  The death toll in Haiti and the U.S. East Coast are both at 55 and the suffering is staggering.  Folks, please join together with me and PRAY for those in the wake of this terrible storm!

As you know, we've  been praying about "what direction" to go in light of this tragic storm.  Well, on Tuesday afternoon, had a very successful series of test flights with our Little Donkey following the aileron repair.  Had a decision to make.  Called Cindy and a number of friends asked them to pray with me.  My heart is just broken for all the folks in the Northeast as well as Haiti.  What should Air Mobile do?

About 5:00pm, after deep prayer, the decision was made.  Fly to Haiti immediately.  They are nearly out of replacement Rescuers.  The process began.  Called the fuel truck and began last minute shopping.  Picked up Peter from Tae Kwon Do and we began the delicate operation of "loading" up the Little Donkey.

We finished at about 9:00pm and stopped at Winn Dixie for final supplies.  Headed home and packed my bags.  Went to sleep and set the alarm a bit later than usual.  4:00am instead of 2:15am.  Needed the extra rest.

Alarm went off, rolled out of bed.  Put on the coffee and wrote yesterday's blog.  As usual, DID NOT say anything about going to Haiti.  Knew that the roads would be very dangerous due to the current food shortage.

After topping off the tanks and pulling Ti Burik out, had a quiet word of prayer and asked the Lord for protection and guidance.  Crawled into the cockpit (never seen such a full load!) cranked up the engines, activated the runway lights and taxied into position on Runway 18.

Paused again and prayed and asked our Lord for His protection and guidance and eased the throttles forward, rolled down the runway and flew into the early morning darkness for Haiti.

Had a few storms around, but easily worked around them.  Climbed to 17,000 feet and settled down to smooth ride.  Had very strong crosswinds, 43+ knots out of the west.  This just balanced off yielding an almost "0" wind advantage.  In the end, had about a 15 knot headwind.

Upon landing, we stood in amazement at just what a load Ti Burik carried today.  It consisted of baby formula, diapers, a lot of medicine, soup, 6  cart-tires, a big umbrella, an ice-maker, toner cartridges, label making tape, supply totes, many back-packs full of schools supplies, many little baby blankets, sump-pump, hamburgers (Bubba Burgers) and hot dogs (Nathans), sausage (Louisiana Hot Andouille), very important Air Mobile Rescuer parts and more stuff I can't remember.

My Haiti Ground Crew could only laugh in amazement at how this little bitty airplane can carry all that stuff so far.  Truly, it is just like a "Little Donkey".  We are thankful for this magnificent gift and tool to help so many people!  I count it such a privilege to be able to fly this remarkable airplane!!

Well, after a good night's sleep here in Haiti, it's time to "Get to Work".  Have supplies to deliver and a bunch of Air Mobile Rescuers that need to be modified with the new valve.  Oh, the crew that picked me up at the airport was delayed by riots in the street.  We prayed about our route back to the village and arrived safe and sound.  Praise God!

Time to get to work.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!  God Bless!!

THE DAY AFTER....MILLIONS WITHOUT POWER - DEATH TOLL 46 & CLIMBING!

As, now, Tropical Storm Sandy claws westward, the devastation in the path of this Super Storm is just terrible.  Millions are without power and the death toll is 46 and climbing.

As I drive down I-95, I see convoys of Utility Trucks racing to the "Rescue".  Our country is mobilizing to help this part of the country that has been crushed by this late season storm.  Our hearts break for so many that are facing such extreme circumstances!

As we continually say, please remember to PRAY & ask our Lord what He would have you to do!

My heart goes out to those on the islands that are still digging out of the early stages of this "Franken-Storm".  Hurricane Sandy will go down in History as one of, if not, the most destructive storm in history!

I have to continually remind myself that our Lord never said that, there would not be storms, but that He would guide us and lead us through the storms!  He promised to never leave us nor forsake us, but would be with us to the end of the age!

With that, we press on and seek to bring clean water to the "least of these", those that can't help themselves.  I am so pleased that we are making solid progress on improving an already remarkable machine, the Air Mobile Rescuer.

Yesterday, I did some more experimenting with the ability to give the unit an "Injection" when it is not functioning properly.  Kind of like the doctor giving us a shot when we're sick.  This technique will "revolutionize" the operation of this life-saver!

Also, yesterday, we were so blessed to go to Mims United Methodist Church and pick up a check for another Rescuer!  Praise God, this Church is enabling us to GO & share the love of God through the gift of clean water!  Thank you, Church!!

Well, it's time to head out and see what we can do to help others that are sick and thirsty.  We'll see what this day has for us as...it is the day that our Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

As always, THANK YOU for standing so graciously and faithfully with us.  We so appreciate your love, prayer and support!!  God bless!!

SANDY CAME....RIGHT ON SCHEDULE - LEAVING MILLIONS IN DARKNESS & UNTOLD DAMAGE & DESTRUCTION & SUFFERING - PLEASE PRAY FOR THOSE IMPACTED!

This is one for the books!  New York City has not faced such wide-spread destruction and disruption in modern history.  Hurricane Sandy, who was tracked all the way in, did exactly what many feared would happen..... and millions are "far from out of the woods throughout the Northeast"!

Thousands are trapped on Barrier Islands, i.e. Atlantic City, and the extent of the damage literally takes ones breath away.  PLEASE take a moment, as you are reading this blog and simply PRAY!!

Power will be out in areas for days, if not weeks in many areas. Tough days lie ahead for millions!  Hurricane Sandy ABSOLUTELY lived up to the predictions / projections and forecasts.  So, what do we do now?  For many, it's not "one day at a time", but one minute, one hour.  Mass Transit will be down for a long time!

We, at Air Mobile, are standing by.  So glad that we re-installed that "re-skinned" aileron yesterday.  Our mechanics, Paul and Joe, did a masterful job of helping us to get Ti Burik back in the air.  This morning, I will be conducting test flights to verify all is well.

Meanwhile, our "Chief Water Mule", Rob was busily building Air Mobile Rescuers.  We are putting every piece together to get "clean water" flowing where most needed.  Please PRAY about helping us to fund these "Life-Savers"!

Rob will now be installing our new "T" Valve, that allows easy access to a small orifice where water is injected into the Ozone/UV chamber.  This simple addition to the Air Mobile Rescuer will better insure the flow of the life-saving clean water by allowing easy access to clear any debris that might build up.

On the way home from the hangar, at Cindy's suggestion, I stopped at a local Walgreen's Pharmacy and spoke with the Pharmacist, Kathy.  I explained our need to "Inject" CLR (Calcium-Lime-Rust) into this area and she immediately knew what I needed and....donated a hand-full of syringes that will enable us to do just that.

Thank the Lord for Good Ideas and Helpful, Generous Folks!  Kathy, may not realize it, but she is being "recruited" into becoming a "Water Mule"!

We need to simply keep marching ahead and praying and asking our Lord where HE wants us to go.  So many are in deep need and desperation RIGHT NOW!  The path of Hurricane Sandy is long and sad filled with suffering, destruction and death!!

The death toll in the Caribbean is continuing to rise.  Of course, Haiti tops the "death toll" list.  The problem with Haiti is that they don't have the National Guard and FEMA and thousands of others resources that are already springing into action to help those, as is happening right now, in the stricken Northeast!  In spite of the problems in America, we still have the best system of rescue and help on the planet.  Believe me, when I say that!

I am so glad that Cindy thought of "Raffling" off a week in our Extreme Home over the Christmas Holiday.  Now, you can not only help us to get "Clean Water" into desperate areas, but your $100 Gift will give you a "chance" at winning a week in an "Extremely" Amazing Home to celebrate the birth of our Savior!  Now, that is a "Win-Win" situation!

If you want more details about this wonderful opportunity, and have not received our Air Mobile Letter announcing the contest, simply write me at:  www.airmobilejoe@gmail.com or pick up the phone and call me at:  321-544-7757.  Our contest ends on November 30th!

Now, it's that time.  Had the second cup of coffee and need to go fly a Little Donkey!  Need to get ready for the "Next Mission".  May I remind you again, PLEASE PRAY for the millions of folks that are still in harm's way, without electricity, cold and hungry.  Our nation has never experienced a Storm like Hurricane Sandy!  As always, THANK YOU for faithfully standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!

FOR MANY - EVACUATION NO LONGER AN OPTION - WINDS/RAIN/WATER BEGINNING TO LASH EAST COAST - A.S.A.P.!!

As Hurricane Sandy begins that "Left Turn", the Northeast is feeling the massive storm in "Real Time".  The Pressure is down to 948 Millibars....this storm has a LOT OF ENERGY!  The storm is actually picking up speed and being pulled into the Jersey Shore by another storm to the West.  This situation is not good.

I know for a fact, that millions have not heeded the option to Evacuate.  Such is Human Nature. Have seen it again and again over the last 45 years of my own "Disaster Relief" experience.  I know that there are "millions" of reasons, but here we are.  Hurricane Sandy is "Knocking at the Door".

Now, for those Folks at are "Left Behind", this a perfect time to PRAY - remember....A.S.A.P.!!  We know the power of God and His ability to keep you in the palm of His Hand.  We pray and stand with you and ask our Lord to extend great mercy and grace during the difficult hours that lie ahead!

The Subways,Trains...all Mass Transit, in New York City have been shut down and 9000+ flights have been cancelled in anticipation of the Storm's arrival that has begun this morning.

Just picked up this weather report from the region and it captures the situation quite well:  THE LATEST ON HURRICANE SANDY  We can see that this is a VERY DANGEROUS STORM!  It appears as if millions will be without power for an extended period of time.

As I write this "Rambling Blog" the storm is just hours away from "Landfall".  So many thoughts are going through my head.  The main thing I must do is to stay focused in getting our Little Donkey prepared for the "Next Mission" and get as many Rescuers as we have parts for built and ready!

I'll be heading out the door to get those rivets for Paul, our mechanic, so that he can continue the "Re-Skin" job on that right aileron.  Will breathe a sigh of relief when Ti Burik is back in the air!

One of our main "Water Mules", Rob, has just returned from the Baltimore area (he got out just in time) and he will be building as many Air Mobile Rescuers as we have parts for.

NOW  would be an excellent time to make a donation to Air Mobile to fund these "Life-Savers" and....with $100 or more donation, you'll receive a grand opportunity to spend a week in our Extreme Home over Christmas.  Also, the first 100 donors will receive a signed copy of "Run To The Roar", our book that chronicles the miraculous hand of our Lord in my life.

It's that time - need to head out to get those rivets and do all we can to keep that "Clean Water" flowing.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

HURRICANE SANDY...AKA "FRANKENSTORM" IS BEARING DOWN ON THE EAST COAST - DEFINITELY "BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES" - CONSIDER EVACUATION! - MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE (7.7) HITS WESTERN COAST OF CANADA - A WHOLE LOT OF SHAKIN GOING ON!

Call me crazy, but Folks, this old earth is rocking and rolling.  A massive, possibly the "Storm of the Century" is heading for one of the most populated areas on the earth.  The windbands from this Super Storm will go from Canada to Florida.  The entire East Coast of the U.S. will be effected by Hurricane Sandy!

Landfall is looking like the Jersey Coast, but this storm is going to impact millions of folks.

Do you recall how an "Un-named" storm knocked out electricity in the Washington DC area for nearly a week!  We can count on MASSIVE POWER OUTAGES!  We, here in America, don't do very well without electricity!  If you live in the "THREAT"areas, consider EVACUATION!

Now, believe me, I know it is not convenient or easy to Evacuate, but consider what it will be like going through days and days of no electricity.  Also, consider the very real threat of MASSIVE FLOODING!

Now, in the middle of all this "mess" on the East Coast, a MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE (7.7) occurred on the Canadian West Coast around midnight.  Initially, Tsunami Warnings were issued for as far away as Hawaii.  Those Warnings have since been lifted.

Steadily, our mechanic, Paul, is working his way down the line with rivets on the "Re-Skinning" of our Little Donkey's right aileron.  He is down to the last 25 rivets, which I will secure for him on Monday morning.  It will be so good to have Ti Burik "Ready for Action"!!

The death toll throughout the Caribbean is 42 people, mostly from Haiti.  The rains have been relentless.  We are very eager to get into there with Rescuer parts!

I am thinking again of those 5 Wise Virgins (read on down to yesterday's blog).  Not a bad idea to GET READY.  Again, I understand that it is never easy to disrupt one's life, but don't go into DENIAL if you live in the affected areas in the path of Hurricane Sandy.  This storm is coming and it will bring a lot destruction and possibly death and.....I PRAY that the forecasters are wrong!!

Remember, it is always a good idea to PRAY!  OK, here it comes: A.S.A.P.!

The truth is, we can't PRAY too much.  But also, PREPARE, DON'T PANIC & PRAY!

It's time for me to head out to drop Peter at Church for Worship Band Practice before service.  I'll be then heading to First Baptist Cocoa Beach to preach in the place of my dear friend and brother, Ken Babbington, who lost his precious wife, Cheryl on Monday.  Please pray for Ken and children as they mourn this terrible loss.  Please pray that our Lord gives me the words to share.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable Prayer, Love and Support!  God Bless and....if you're in the "Threat", consider evacuating!  You will all be in our prayers!

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM.....MMMM....A GOOD TIME TO PREPARE!  HURRICANE SANDY SETTING HER SIGHTS ON....WASHINGTON DC - AIR MOBILE GETTING READY - THOUGHTS ON A PARABLE OF 10 VIRGINS - PRAYER REQUEST FOR A DEAR FRIEND

Apparently, when a major storm hits the Northeast from the Southeast, a lot of water gets pushed in causing MAJOR PROBLEMS.  Now that is BAD NEWS but.....the GOOD NEWS is that those in the projected path have time to plan & prepare.  One can see from this "Sandy Rain Threat" that as much as 10 inches of rain could be experienced in the impact area, that happens to be Washington DC.

Now, forecasters are doing a lot "jockying" around on the exact impact locations as can be seen from this "spaghetti" chart showing the many possibilities, but still, the general consensus is the DC area.

In addition to the volumes of good information about the path of Hurricance Sandy, there is a pretty good TIME-LINE.  I have found, over the years, that these forecasters are quite good.

It's not like when I was a "youngster" and the forecasters were generally way off.  These guys (and gals) are really getting good at projecting what these storms are going to do.  Folks, this is a GIFT!

Now, if we err on any side, may we err on the conservative side.  In other words, plan for the worst and hope & pray for the best.

You know, for those living in the path of Hurricane Sandy, may I suggest a nice outing to the West and go see the leaves changing or find some friends or family to visit.  Often, if possible, getting OUT of the "frying pan" is the best strategy.

Remember, if you do that, that the power is VERY LIKELY to go out at your home.  So, anything left in the refrigerator or freezer will not be pretty when you get back.  You can pretty much count on that.

Along the lines of PREPARING (some call it PREPPING), I am reminded of a wonderful parable given by Jesus and it involves 10 Virgins (Matthew 25).  5 were wise and 5 were not.  The main difference is that the 5 Wise Virgins, simply went to the store and bought a little extra oil when the stores were still open and the oil was readily available.  Midnight, the darkest hour, is not the "optimal" time to go and try to find some extra oil.  Now, that is something to think about!

Again, along those very lines, one of the most important things to have on hand is CLEAN WATER!  As you very well know, we have a remarkable machine, it's almost a "Miracle Machine" in that it can take very dirty water and make it very clean with just a little bit of energy.

This Machine will allow you to SHARE your water with others.  A single Air Mobile Rescuer can provide fresh, clean drinking water to more than 500 people per day.  Now, that will make a lot of folks very happy and will likely make you a bunch of new friends!

Here's an idea.  Consider getting together with some of your family, Church Family, friends etc. and get an Air Mobile Rescuer together.  A wise Pastor once told me, "Son, by the inch, it's a cinch, by the yard it's hard".  One thing is for sure, following most any disaster, CLEAN WATER BECOMES A MAJOR ISSUE!

If you'd like to know more about the Air Mobile Rescuer and all this remarkable machine can do, don't hesitate to give me a call at:  321-544-7757.  I'd love to tell you more about it.

Well, Hurricane Sandy has just passed us by here in Florida and is on that northeasterly course.  We did not have any real damage here, just "cleaned out" the trees and blew over some garbage cans and political signs.  Other than that, we're doing fine.

We continue to make excellent progress on getting that Aileron for Ti Burik "Re-skinned".  Hope to have it back in the air early next week.  Then, we'll head out on our "Next Mission".  Not sure where that will be.  We're praying and asking our Lord to lead us!

I have another prayer request.  My dear friend, Pastor Ken Babbington lost his beloved wife, Cheryl, earlier this week.  Ken has asked me to preach for him this Sunday Morning.  I am both humbled and blessed to stand with my precious brother during this difficult and sad hour.  Please remember to pray for Ken and his children!  Thank you.

Here we are, at the end of another "rambling" blog.  Wow, I sure wrote a long one today.  As always, we're so THANKFUL for your precious prayer, love and support.  God bless!!

HERE COMES HURRICANE SANDY! - DEATH TOLL RISING IN CARIBBEAN - MID ATLANTIC/NORTHEAST....HAVE A "GO" PLAN - AIR MOBILE GETTING READY....FOR ACTION!

Hurricane Sandy has decreased just a bit, 80+MPH from 105 MPH, and is abeam Abaco in the Bahamas.  The Bahamians are no strangers to storms and are "hunkering" down for the winds and rain but....where is Hurricane Sandy heading?  That is the big question.

Some forecasters are saying this could be the "Frankenstorm" of the Century for the Northeast.  It is still a bit early to tell exactly where this storm is heading, but one thing is for sure.

A HUGE area of the northeast from the Carolinas to New York is going to get a LOT of Wind & Rain.  It is time NOW to prepare!  Have extra food, water, batteries, candles & have a "GO PLAN".  Be prepared to evacuate if you're living in low-lying areas!  Chances are EXCELLENT that large of areas will be WITHOUT POWER....possibly for extended periods of time!  Thank the Lord for this EARLY WARNING!

As we look at where Hurricane Sandy has been, the death toll is steadily rising and currently at 21.  Of course Haiti got a glancing blow, but Sandy still dumped relentless rain for over 2 days.

Heard from Barbara in "The Village".  All is well, no injuries, thank the Lord!  But still thousands of the "Homeless" who are living out of doors had their "homes" destroyed by Sandy.  Jamaica and Cuba are now "digging out" from this "freak" late season storm.

I want to address again where Hurricane Sandy is heading.  If you live anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast, PLEASE, take this storm VERY SERIOUSLY!

It is pretty much a guaranteed fact, that there will be WIDE-SPREAD power outages.  Now, think about where you are and what it would be like with NO ELECTRICITY for possibly days or even weeks!

You may want to "cook up" some that frozen stuff and stock up on ice in the event you choose to evacuate your area.  Remember, if you go inland a bit, there are many options available, i.e. hotels, family, friends, camp grounds etc.  Of course, have plenty of CLEAN WATER!!

My Cindy came up with the "Extreme Hurston Home Christmas Vacation" before Hurricane Sandy became an issue.  However, any of you considering this wonderful opportunity, know that your "donation" will go toward Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers.  These units SAVE LIVES following disasters both, here at home and abroad!

Today, through the wind and rain, that we are currently experiencing compliments of Hurricane Sandy, Paul and Joe, our faithful mechanics are working hard to get our Little Donkey back in the air.  The progress on the aileron is proceeding nicely.  Hope to have Ti Burik up and ready in a few days.

Yesterday, while preparing supplies and working on logistics for our next mission, I had Ariana with me for a few hours.  Recently, we made a nice "Doll House" out of a couple of boxes around the hangar.  I love watching Ariana's imagination at work.  She gets so much joy out of some old boxes.  We are blessed by this little one!!

Speaking of our precious Ariana.  Yesterday, she received an award for "Outstanding Character".  She is an excellent student and very obedient.  Oh Lord, thank you again for bringing this little one into our lives!

Some of you, who are new to this "Rambling Blog", may not know that Cindy and I adopted Ariana several years ago, after we brought her here to the U.S. for life-saving surgery.  She is doing so well and has truly been "Rescued" thanks to the Lord and many of you, who are reading this!

As always, THANK YOU for standing with us  with your prayer, love and support!!  God bless and....if you're in the path of Hurricane Sandy, stay safe and PREPARE, DON'T PANIC & PRAY!!

HURRICANE SANDY ROARING THROUGH THE ISLANDS - NOW A CATAGORY 2 - NEXT STOP, THE BAHAMAS - FLORIDA ALREADY FEELING WINDS

2012 is already one of the most active Hurricane Seasons on record with 19 named storms!  Hurricane Sandy ROARED to life yesterday as it passed between Jamaica and Cuba.  Winds are 110mph!

Sandy continues the northerly track and is now headed for the Bahamas.  We PRAY for all in Hurricane Sandy's Path and Wake!  Already, 2 have died in Jamaica.

The Mid Atlantic States and the Northeast may be in the path of Hurricane Sandy, but it is still difficult to project the exact path.  Best to "Batten down the Hatches" (Prepare) and PRAY!

Just about the time one thinks the season is "winding down", a "Sandy" comes along.  Again, am so thankful for good satellite images and excellent weather forecasters.  Must admit, they've gotten quite good over the years.

Meanwhile, we make good progress toward getting our Little Donkey back in the air.  I had to drive all over Central Florida yesterday picking up parts to keep Paul and Joe, our mechanics, moving ahead on "Re-Skinning" that right aileron.

I hope to hear from Haiti this morning and find out how they have fared from all that wind and rain as Sandy made that glancing blow of Hispaniola.  The good thing is that we haven't heard of any deaths (not that they haven't occurred).  Haiti has not made the headlines and in this case, "No News is GOOD News".  Once we speak with Barb (Rambo in the Blue Dress), I'll let you know.

So, time to head out into this windy, blustery, rainy, dark morning.  Pray you have a blessed day and....THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

HERE COMES HURRICANE SANDY - BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES IN THE "ISLANDS" - BE SURE YOU HAVE CLEAN WATER!

And to think.....Hurricane Season does not end until November 30th!  2012 has been a busy season and here we are facing another one.  Was hoping...and praying that the Season would calm down but....Ms. Sandy came along.

Looks like Hurricane Sandy will hit Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas.  Haiti will get a LOT of wind and rain, likely to cause very dangerous flooding.  We're working on getting supplies ready for our next mission there.

We received the replacement "Skin" for the right Aileron yesterday and will be working diligently to get the Ti Burik, the Little Donkey back in the air, ready for our next mission.

I am so thankful for a "System" that can get supplies into our hands so quickly!  Cessna sent that skin overnight and it arrived around 10:30 next morning.  It is easy to take this "for granted", but....having lived and worked overseas in very isolated and difficult regions, I still marvel when the "System" works!

I quickly put the new "Skin" in Paul's hands and now, he and Joe are working on getting that aileron repaired.  Again, I am so THANKFUL to have such a strong team supporting the maintenance on our Little Donkey!

Now, here we are facing a "Late Season" Storm.  The folks in the Islands, Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti and the Bahamas will be battening down the hatches.  I love this sign - "PREPARE - DON'T PANIC - PRAY"!

That is the reason we are so committed to the Air Mobile Rescuer.  This amazing machine can take the most contaminated water and make it very pure!  Clean water is VERY IMPORTANT following any disaster.  We are so thankful that we can share the Love of God by sharing clean water with needy folks!

Did you receive the invitation to "Spend Christmas in the Hurston's Extreme-Makeover Home" this morning?  Cindy and I have come up with a cool way to get more Rescuers out into the field and offer you a chance to have a very memorable Christmas here in Sunny Florida in a very unique and beautiful home.

If you did not receive the "Invitation" this morning, then you must not be on our Air Mobile Mailing list.  Want to be?? Simpy write me at:  www.airmobilejoe@gmail.com and request to be put on the list.

Well, it's time to head out and work on a Little Donkey.  God bless and THANKS for your faithful prayer, love and support!  God bless!!
