THE PLACE TO BE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT...IN THE MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE
We awaited the arrival of our new friends, Michael and Melanie from Nashville. Michael was a Pastor for nearly 40 years and recently retired. He has a heart to help people going through "tough times". He and Melanie are our "kind of folks".
Michael and I have been communicating via e-mail and phone for several months. We invited he and Melanie to come on over and stay in our new "little cabin" and have dinner with us at the "River Place on the Clinch River".
The Friday night special is grilled steak and the "fix-ins". While awaiting the food to arrive we just had a wonderful time talking and getting to know one another. Cindy and Melanie really hit it off.
In the background was a genuine "Blue Grass" band playing classic "East Tennessee Music" with the banjos and all. Oh, it was a beautiful evening.
Yes, we all agreed, there was no finer place to be on Friday night in Kyles Ford, TN than at the River Place on the Clinch River.
BTW, if you've ever read Louis L'Amour (the great Western writer) he writes about the Sackett Family from Clinch River. This "neck of the woods" is sure rich in history and "tough folks"!
Back to Michael and Melanie. Michael just happened to catch the Hurston Family on Extreme Makeover Family Edition several years ago. He couldn't get us out his mind. One day, he simply phoned me. We immediately struck it off.
He is fascinated by the Air Mobile Rescuer and what a "Game Changer" the little miracle machine is in a disaster. So, for the next few days, we'll be planning and praying about how our Lord can use us when truly "hard times come".
Looking forward to the fellowship, prayers and coming up with good ideas to help folks in hard times. Besides, we're glad that we've already put the "Little Cabin" to good use.
Folks, all I can say is THANK YOU for joining on this meandering road through life. We so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!

ONCE IN A BLUE MOON &....WHO CAN FIND A VIRTUOUS WOMAN?
My dear old Mother used to say..."Oh, once in a blue moon" all the time. She meant that..."whatever we were speaking of, didn't happen very often". So...tonight, we'll witness the origin of the saying.
We'll see the "Blue Moon" that occurs every 3+ years. We'll see a second full moon this month and, if...there's volcanic ash, there will be a blue haze around the moon. So, next time you hear someone say..."once in a blue moon", you'll have a better astronomical understanding. Here's a bit more from Wikipedia - ORIGIN: "ONCE IN A BLUE MOON"
I love reading the book of Proverbs. I often will coordinate the day of the month with the chapter I read. Today, being July 31st, means I'll "Ponder" Proverbs 31. Love this one, because it reminds me of just what a blessing I have in my Cindy.
I've often referred to her as...."My Proverbs 31 Lady". She fits the description. She's so diligent and always making things for our family with her hands.
From snapping beans, to canning, to dehydrating, to sewing curtains to planting a garden and picking apples for a delicious pie.
She's also extremely smart and quite beautiful! Oh, the list goes on and on. Above all, Cindy loves the Lord with all of her heart!
Suffice it to say, I'm THANKFUL to our Lord for giving me Cindy. I love you, honey!!
Last night we celebrated the completion of turning a little room on top of a garage into a complete "Little House".
With Cindy's prudence and diligence and vision, we now have a completely self-contained living area in about 300 square feet.
Thanks to Craig's List and many bargains and the craftsmanship of our neighbor, Don, it's done. We now have a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom in a tiny space. It's just great.
Now, when folks come up to the Retreat Cabin to visit, we have a complete extra "little cabin" where they can stay. Praise God!
Here's a tour of this great, latest addition, beginning with the kitchen. BTW, we bought that old, but very high quality gas stove for $110.00, the microwave and coffeepot for $5.00 each, and the sink came out of the barn.
A very comfortable living room with lamps and table and chairs that were free (a gift from Don and Kathy who did the build-out), and a "Craig's List" sofa.
The little loft bedroom is cozy and comfortable.
And an amazingly spacious bathroom in the little cabin.
We're getting close to the end of our Tennessee Retreat. Oh, it's just been wonderful.
This evening, we have some new friends arriving for a little visit with us. Looking forward to praying and planning for future missions.
Time to head out. As always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support!!

A NICE STROLL DOWN THE "TRAIL"
Walking down the "Wilderness Trail" that Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett and others took was a pleasant experience. The day could not have been any more beautiful.
We met Pastor Gary and his family and "hit the trail". Lori, Gary's wife is a school teacher, so she was able to fill in some of the historical details of these great pioneers and those who truly risked their lives to find freedom and a new life.
Once to the Lookout point, we were looking at Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky. Down below us was the Cumberland Gap Tunnel.
We also met a little "friend" up there. No, it's not a lobster, but a scorpion. We gave him plenty of room to roam around.
After the hike, we headed back to the cabin for some of Cindy's Apple cake and a good cup of coffee. My Pastor loves coffee "almost" as much as me.
It was a day filled with joy and some great biblical discussions along the trail. As the sun set, Gary and Family headed back to Gatlinburg to continue their little summer "get- away". So good having them up to the "Retreat Cabin".
Today, we'll be just doing chores and little projects. It's nice to not be so "plugged" into all that going on in the world. Been taking a glimpse or two at the "Political Fireworks" going in the U.S.
One thing is for sure....Donald Trump is sure "stirring things up". In some ways, it's refreshing to hear someone simply..."speaking their mind" (that's something that most politicians have a hard time doing). It will be interesting to see where this thing goes.
As always, we truly appreciate your prayer, love and support!!

MEETING FRIENDS & HIKING A TRAIL & IFR HUMMINGBIRDS
This morning, we'll be meeting with our Florida Pastor, Gary, and his family and some friends from our home Church.
We'll be meeting at the Cumberland Gap where Daniel Boone led pioneers to a new life. We're excited about hiking that very trail. Here's a bit of history on the "Gap" - BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CUMBERLAND GAP
Was up early this morning. Our valley was IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). The visibility was very low.
I noted some "fellow aviators", the humming birds, waiting for the "ceiling to lift a bit". Been there, done that!
Finally, one lifted off and found the sweet spot. Suddenly, another hummingbird had the same idea and moved in. It was a near miss.
OK, being in the mountains of East Tennessee in the early morning, one's mind does wander a bit. I guess I'm guilty.
Soon enough, we'll be heading back to Florida. Ariana will be getting back into school. Cindy and I are working on a feeding program for India. We'll have another flight to Haiti bringing in clean water, and only our Lord knows what else lies ahead.
So, on this "foggy" morning, we'll be leaving in a few minutes for the Cumberland Gap to take a walk through history and ponder the trek of the early pioneers.
We're so grateful to have you with us on this meandering trail through life. THANK YOU again for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE....
I've heard that saying many times in my life. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. In our case, it turned into some delicious 'spiced apples'!!
Our good neighbors, Don and Kathy told us about an old apple tree that was just full of ripe apples and many had fallen. Such is nature.
Cindy and I jumped in our little Ford Escape and found the apple tree that was heavy with fruit.
There were a mess of little red apples all over the ground. Now, when we got up close, some of those apples didn't look real good, like what you'd find in a produce section...all shiny and waxed.
But, my Cindy, who grew up in Massachusetts and knows apples quite well began picking them up and putting them into a basket.
We then loaded up and made the beautiful ride to Gatlinburg to pick up our sweet Ariana who had been visiting with our Florida Pastor's family and friends. Good to have our little one back home.
As soon as we got back to the cabin, Cindy went to work on those apples. She cleaned them, and began the long and tedious process of peeling a slicing and dicing. She spent hours on the porch at it.
She had a plan that involved "old fashioned, but very effective" mason jars. BTW, the Mason Jars have been around since 1856 and they work great!! Here's a bit of history - THE HISTORY OF THE MASON JAR
Now, I think it's quite cool that we could go to an old apple tree and get a mess of apples that would either rot or be eaten by the deer and turned them into something so delicious!!!
BTW, we left plenty of those sweet little apples for the deer!
Along the path to the apple tree, I came across this beautiful little rabbit. We're so thankful for our Lord's provision! No, I didn't shoot and eat the rabbit but....if the "chips were down" I certainly would.
Well, it's time for another day in the mountains of East Tennessee. Who knows what adventure or opportunity lies ahead.
As always, THANK YOU for your vital and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

WHAT ARE "DIRT COOKIES"?
Cindy and I have long known about this "crazy (heart-breaking) thing" in Haiti, but thought we'd share the story with you today. It's about a Haitian "delicacy" called "bon-bon terre" or "Dirt Cookies".
This is truly a grim reminder of how poor Haiti is and why we work there. Here's the story - DIRT COOKIES
In addition to bringing in clean water through the Air Mobile Rescuer, we cooperate with Barbara and Reach Out To Haiti to help bring nutritious food to the hungry. Haiti is like so many countries around the world that just don't have enough food . Hunger and starvation are all too prevalent!
As we spend time here at the Air Mobile Retreat, our hearts go out to those who fight and struggle every day to simply find enough food and clean water just to survive. We're THANKFUL for this place in the mountains of East Tennessee where we can strategize on ways to help and to recharge.
We're also working very closely with several churches in the area to PLAN for hard days ahead here in America.
We love our Tennessee church, Father's House. When Peter is not here, Cindy lends a hand leading worship. Pastor Dan is a close personal friend and we have strong fellowship together.
Speaking of Peter, he's currently on Mission to Mexico. They're building fences and working on construction projects. Of course, Peter always seems to find himself on a Worship Team.
Our Pastor and a small team from our home church in Florida, is in Gatlinburg on a little "get away". Our Ariana has been with them for the last few days.
Today, Cindy and I will drive there to get Ariana and spend some time with them. It's sweet to just have a little time to fellowship, be refreshed and have fun.
BTW, my Cindy has been developing the "art of canning". She's been canning everything in sight from peaches to strawberry and blackberry jam to bread and butter pickles. This is a wonderful skill that helps us to be better prepared. Love my Proverbs 31 woman!!
Time to hit the road and go drive some TN switchbacks and winding roads. Love it! As always, THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with us. We're truly grateful for your prayer, love and support!!

BACK IN THE "HOLLER"....AFTER A SMALL "DELAY"
After returning from Haiti on Friday afternoon, I ran all over the place (in the midst of storms), and wrapped up a "score" of things before heading to Sanford International Airport. There was a "seat" with my name on it, reserved on Allegiant Airline for a 6:55PM flight to Knoxville....or so I thought.
Whether it was due to equipment or bad weather (there was sure plenty of that going around), don't know. But our flight was delayed by nearly 4 hours.
Over the years, I've rushed to many an airport and literally "run to the gate". There is something comforting and quite nice about arriving at an airport on-time and then, having a delay.
Now, that may a bit strange, but it sure gives time to "catch up" and even "catch one's breath". There's really nothing that you can do except....wait.
It's kind of fun to "explore" the airport. One may find an interesting shop, or get an inside view of what goes on "behind the scenes". Pilot's have an unusual curiosity and a pretty good understanding of how airports work, so there's plenty of stuff to explore.
There's also that time to just sit and look at the weather. Yesterday was very similar to the day before (in the afternoon in Florida). There were plenty of storms brewing and stewing. One "gust of wind" actually blew, electric sliding doors open (it was like a micro tornado).
That's when one is particularly thankful to NOT not be in the air! The ground is a lot safer! It brings a wonderful Scripture to mind.....ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD.... Romans 8:28
It also worked out well for Cindy who was having dinner with our Pastor and a small group from our Church who had come to Tennessee for a little R&R. They were in Chattanooga and Cindy would have had to leave the "Party" right at supper time to come pick me up.
Well....she had "plenty" of extra time to visit and fellowship. So, that old delay was not so bad. And....remember, if the flight is delayed, it is usually for a GOOD REASON! The truth is...Airlines really, really like to try to be on-time.
Cindy picked me up just after midnight and we had a very pleasant 2 hour ride home through the mountains of East Tennessee. We finally got to bed around 3:00am....thus the delay in posting this "rambling blog".
So, it's Sunday morning. The sun has risen. Time for that 2nd cup of coffee and then to Church. Ahhh, a nice way to spend the day. As always, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated and very precious prayer, love and support!!

GIVING A LIFT
The "Mission" to Haiti was finished (for the moment). It was time to point the nose of the Little Donkey back to Florida.
Had been monitoring the weather and could see that there were a few "trouble" spots along the way.
I had asked you to PRAY yesterday morning for us to have wisdom and His Guidance. THANK YOU, for PRAYING!!
One of the pilots for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), Tim, had asked if I could give his wife and 3 children a ride back to the U.S.. I happily agreed. We met at the airport early yesterday morning. Tim and I looked at the weather together and both felt that we could safely make the flight.
We loaded up Cathy and their 3 children (ages 4, 2 and 4 months) in the Little Donkey. Titus, the eldest son, was my Co-Pilot.
We had a final prayer asking our Lord to give us traveling mercy and wisdom to know how to "avoid" any bad weather we might encounter along the way.
We began our 4.5 hour flight back to Fort Pierce. We climbed to 10,500 feet and had the smoothest ride you could imagine. It was like silk. We even had a little tailwind along the way.
Now, as we approached the coast of Florida, we could see that there were a lot of storms popping up everywhere.
There was the tiniest little path leading right to Fort Pierce. But, there was a pretty fierce "cell" heading right for the field.
The race was on. I kept my approach speed up to 160mph. The winds were picking up and the rain was pouring....just off the north side of the field. Again, we prayed and asked our Lord to hold that storm back for just another minute. HE DID!
We landed and quickly taxied to Customs. Then, the rain hit, the winds howled and we were safe and sound, but quite wet in the Fort Pierce Customs Office. PRAISE GOD!
You know how I OFTEN ask you to PRAY. Well, all I can say is THANK YOU! A number of you "texted" me yesterday, and told me that they were praying for us....right at the minute that that storm and the Little Donkey were so close to "meeting" at Fort Pierce.
Now, let me say that I had a clear Alternate. If that storm would have arrived before we got there, I could have turned back and flew south to West Palm Beach. Always good to have a "back door".
After clearing Customs, we waited in a nice little restaurant at the airport and let that storm pass and for the weather to clear up between Fort Pierce and Titusville (TICO).
Upon arrival at TICO, I gave Cathy and her kids a ride to Orlando where they picked up their rental van. They'll be with family for a much needed break. So glad we could help and am also THANKFUL to you for your precious prayer, love and support!!
Today, will be wrapping up a few things and then boarding a flight for Tennessee to be with my precious Cindy. Can hardly wait!! God bless!!

THANKFUL!
Awakening early in Haiti, my heart is just overwhelmed with thankfulness. Over these many years of working in Haiti, I've faced so many "staggering" obstacles and yet, have seen our Lord move again and again to bring victory.
I recall when 6 men were lost on the sea and all hope was given up for them. Yet, our Lord moved in my heart to go and search for them. Without question, our Lord led me to them and they were saved. Oh, this is just one of hundreds (maybe thousands) of miracles that I've personally witnessed here in Haiti.
So, I'm up early this morning, long before the sun has risen, and I'm just pondering the goodness of God. Sometimes, when my faith "wavers", all I have to do is simply "remember" when the Lord came through in seeming..."impossible" situations. My faith is restored and I find courage for another day.
Well, this "Mission" to Haiti is drawing to a close. It's getting time for me to consider heading back home. I've checked the weather this morning, there are some storms along the way. Again, I need God's Wisdom as to whether or not to proceed home. PLEASE PRAY with me that HE will lead this day.
Time for that second cup of coffee and I'll check that weather again. As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A GOOD DAY IN THE DEPOT
Next time you take a long drink of fresh, clean water, please remember that there are hundreds of millions (maybe, billions) who don't share that simple luxury. Water is life! That is why, we do what we do.
Sometimes, it feels like only a drop in the bucket, but if you're at the bottom of that bucket, you're glad for that drop!
Now, I'd like to back-up just a bit and show you how I came to have that long drink of clean water in the photo above.
It began in a little "Depot" in Bon Repos, Haiti. This is the location where we keep the 337 Air Mobile Rescuers in Haiti, going and bringing clean water to the thirsty.
11 years ago, we at Air Mobile, made a pledge to keep every Air Mobile Rescuer in Haiti repaired and functioning at NO CHARGE to the end user (usually an orphanage or a school).
By God's help and a lot of help from our friends, we've done just that! Every 4 weeks or so, the Little Donkey, loaded with vital supplies flies to Haiti.
Then, an inventory is taken to see just how many of the 337 Rescuers that are in service need repair. That process takes place at this little workbench in "Joe's Depot".
You'll notice that, next to the unit that has been repaired and being tested, is a water jug. That is "my" water jug!
While "testing" that Rescuer, I'm filling that water jug. BTW, the water came from the well that is here in Barb's Village. If you drink that water directly from the well, you'll get diarreah...or worse.
Once, the water jug was filled, I brought it straight up to my little room. Every person that has stayed or operated out of this "Village", over these last 11 years, drinks "Air Mobile Rescuer" water. As Barbara so eloquently says...."There is NO diarrhea in our Village!
Yesterday, I spent the day in the Depot bringing Rescuers back to life. At the end of the day, our "Inventory" is at 10 units. Now, that will be enough for the next 4-6 weeks.
You see, anytime any operator in Haiti has a unit that does not function, all they have to do is bring that unit to our Depot and we "swap it out" on the spot AT NO CHARGE!
That has been our system for these last 11 years, and with God's help, we'll keep it going as long as He gives us the strength. Today, tens of thousands+ of Haitians have access to clean water as a result of our Lord's blessing!
That is where you come in and are so helpful in helping to keep us going on. That is why again, we're so THANKFUL for your precious prayer, love and support!!
Air Mobile Joe
PS - Air Mobile now has over 1000 Rescuers operating in 45 countries. Again, THANK YOU, JESUS!!

A QUICK "JUMP" OVER THE MOUNTAIN
The beauty of an aircraft is most appreciated when a 4+ hour drive is replaced by a 37 minute flight. That is what Nate and I did yesterday. It was time to go do a "Site Survey" of another airport here in Haiti.
We flew in the Little Donkey from Port-Au-Prince to Les Cayes on the south coast of Haiti. The flight was pleasant and most of all, quick!
We're exploring the possibility of putting in a new Air Traffic Control System in the beautiful southern region of Haiti. Good communications are vital to successful "aviating". That's where Harris truly shines.
We conducted our "Site Survey" in record time. Got back in the Little Donkey and was back in Port-Au-Prince long before a trip, by road, would even be half way to Les Cayes. Love airplanes!!
Once back in Port, Nate and I paid a visit to Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA). This amazing organization is saving lives, and in many cases, providing FREE service to the needy!
We're pleased to be working together with HAA on forming a Search and Rescue (SAR) arm in Haiti. This is so needed and we're making steady progress on presenting a comprehensive proposal to bring this to pass! Please PRAY for us to be guided and directed by our Lord on this vital matter!!
Today, will be bringing several Air Mobile Rescuers back up to service. It is such a joy to be able to bring clean water to the thirsty. Truly, a powerful way to express and show the love of God. I'm ever reminded of the Words of Jesus...."I was thirsty and you gave me to drink...".
I'm also reminded and ever aware that we're in this "mission" together. Just want you to know again how much I appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!! God bless!!

A "PEACEFUL" FLIGHT
Yesterday morning, I was up quite early. Spent some precious time in prayer and the Peace of God was very sweet.
Our Little Donkey (AKA: Ti Burik) was fully loaded, fueled and just "rarin to go". Our good friends, Jason and Joyce had helped me load Ti Burik on Sunday. The cabin was loaded, weighed and secured.
The bottom (cargo pod) looked like a baby food store along with plenty of vitamins. Yes, the Little Donkey was all ready to gallop to Haiti.
After a good cup of coffee, I checked the weather. There was a high pressure ridge along the route between Florida and Haiti.
It would be a perfect morning to fly to Haiti. Arrived at the airport around 3:30am. Topped off the tanks, inspected the load, did a good pre-flight (for Brian), had a word of prayer and crawled into the very tight cockpit for the 5 hour flight.
The Caribbean sunrise never gets old. The splashes of gold, and blues and hues of un-named beauty gloriously fill the sky.
At 15,000 feet, the view is spectacular. I'm so blessed to witness this artwork created by our Lord. The flight was just perfect.
Spoke with the Haiti Air Traffic Controller (ATC) from over 100 miles out. The transmissions were crystal clear! Landed right on schedule.
Barbara met me at the airport. Oh, she was so glad to get all that baby food (her pantry was empty!!) and all the other goodies!! This is such a joy!!!
There, I met Nate, my Harris Associate, who had flown in commercically. We'll be working on expanding the ATC system this week.
We had lunch very close to the airport and spotted this classic in the parking lot, a 1952 Hudson Commander. From time to time, one comes across "treasures" in Haiti.
We spent some time with the ATC Controllers in the Area Control Center. The Harris System is working extremely well. The Controllers are very happy and so are the pilots who are coming in and going out of Haiti!
So, here I am at my trusty "Haiti Desk" sipping my second cup of coffee, pondering this day and where our Lord will lead.
Hang on for the ride. It's going to be a good one. Time to head out and....THANK YOU for joining me with your precious prayer, love and support!!

AND THE PEACE OF GOD...THAT PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING
In the midst of all of the "turbulence" going on in the world, God gives us His PEACE! Perhaps it's just the early morning hour. The skies are crystal clear and there is a quiet calm where I sit. I love the getting up early!
Yes, the coffee seems to taste better before the sun rises. I'm reflecting on the Word of God and am reminded of the scripture...
"Be anxious for nothing....and the Peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"
As I read the headlines and hear the politicians give their various solutions and see "Nation rising against Nation and Kingdom against Kingdom...." (Matthew 24:7), I know that the 2nd Coming of our Lord Jesus draws near.
I desire to be, above all else, exactly where our Lord wants me to be. That is why getting up early, in the calm quiet before the sun rises is so precious. The "roar in my head" is set a lower level and it seems that I can think, reflect and pray more clearly.
As the clock ticks on and the sun begins to rise, I know that this quiet, "Peaceful" moment will subside a bit...but it doesn't have to.
It's just that "things begin to happen". The phone rings. Appointments need to be met etc. etc. It's more difficult to "capture" the peace in the midst of the normal turmoil of the day. But, I can remember these precious, quiet moments and reflect on the Word of God.
Well, we had a good day yesterday securing our load for Haiti. Had some precious and dear friends come and help at the airport, Jason and his mother, Joyce.
Jason has helped me at the hangar before and now, his mother is in training to become a "Water Mule". Yes, our Lord knows how to deploy His troops!
Another good thing about getting up early is that one can accomplish so much more in a day but...by the end of the day, one is quite tired. Means getting to bed earlier and likely rising earlier. Not a bad pattern. I'll work on that!
Time to head and see what our Lord has in store today. As always, THANK YOU for our precious and truly and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

A DAY AT THE AIRPORT AND "DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD & FRET NOT...."
Spent the day at the airport, testing, sorting and having sweet fellowship. Was glad to see my dear friend, Randy West.
Have known Randy for 30 years. He's a great supporter and prayer warrior for Air Mobile. He's also a gifted "End Times Theologian". We've had many a delightful discussion on the Second Coming of Jesus.
Well, he and a friend, Eric, were flying around and dropped in to see how we were doing. Good to see Randy and meet Eric!
Peter spent much of the day with me sorting and arranging all of the wonderful supplies for Haiti. We've been blessed with some great stuff!!
Paul, our mechanic, finished up his work on the Little Donkey and I took it for a successful Test Flight.
Then, Steve, my eldest son, and his 2 beautiful children, Josh and Lauren showed up. Oh, this is a Grandfather's delight.
So....since the successful test flight was accomplished, why not take them up for a little "spin around the patch". They loved flying in the "Little Donkey".
After our little flight, they hung around for the afternoon and helped out in the Hangar. What a day!!
I must tell you, the "News" lately has really been getting me down. The loss of the 4 Marines and now, the Sailor (he just died from his wounds) and the decisions that the U.S. Leaders are making, have been just depressing.
I was speaking with the Lord about these things when I just, "randomly" opened the Bible. There, to my "Delight", I turned to Psalm 37. Wow, so much GOOD & ENCOURAGING NEWS is found in this one Psalm!!
I quote so many passages from this one Psalm. Like, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart".
Or," I've never seen the righteous forsaken or His seed begging for bread".
And yes, I'll admit, I've been "Fretting" quite a lot lately. Our Lord directed me right to the Passage that I needed.
I, like all of us, need to be reminded that God sees everything that is going on. He is the just and righteous Judge. We need to wait on Him and lean heavily upon his Grace and Mercy. He is in control!
Here's a link to Psalm 37. May I encourage you to click on it and just read these verses. You don't even have to go find your Bible. I believe that this Psalm will encourage you in the Lord!! PSALM 37
Sometimes, I'm a bit slow about just going to the Word of God and letting Him speak to my heart. Well, He helped me again. Hope the Word blesses you today! Time to head out and continue to work on that "next mission".
As always, THANK YOU for meandering down this winding road of life with me. We so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!!

BUT DON'T WORRY....HE'S JUST AN 'ALL AMERICAN' KID
I guess sometimes, one chooses not to see the "Elephant in the Living Room"! Here, the Media is trying very hard to say...."we don't know the motive". Take a look - MEDIA MEMBERS WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR...THEY DON'T KNOW THE CHATTANOOGA KILLER'S MOTIVE (Be sure to click on the 60 second clip attached to the story).
What we DO KNOW is that 4 U.S. Marines were MURDERED after a "call from ISIS was made to attack the U.S. Military in America". Mmmmm, could there be a connection???
Yes, according to the Media...we may never know the motive. My Cindy lost her little brother, Tommy, a 19 year old U.S. Marine, to terrorists and we know exactly what their motive was....KILL MARINES!
So, while the FBI and those in the White House try to figure out WHY????, we'll just keep marching forward for the Cause of Christ and seek to save lives. The true message of the Gospel is that "JESUS HAS COME TO SAVE LIVES"!
Paul, our aircraft mechanic, and I were working on the Little Donkey yesterday and getting it ready for the "next mission". We hope to take the Little Donkey up for a Test Flight today.
Supplies are still pouring in for Haiti, for which we're extremely THANKFUL! We'll be sorting and arranging these wonderful "life-saving" gifts. I never cease to marvel at how our Lord sends us the help and resources, right on time, enabling us to reach out and help others in need.
Time to head to the airport. As always, THANK YOU for your joining on this journey. We're so appreciative to you for your vital prayer, love and support!!!

4 UNARMED MARINES....DEAD!!
What a sad day and yet another "Islamic Attack" on America. Please PRAY for the families of those who were murdered and for the wounded! How long will we continue this INSANE PRACTICE of leaving our Service Men, in HARMS WAY, UNARMED????
Here's more and what do you think?? CHATTANOOGA SHOOTING: WHY SHOULD WE MAKE IT EASY FOR KILLERS TO ATTACK OUR MILITARY??
Folks, how long are insane policies and crazy laws going to plague our country?? This is just another example. Now, 4 "UNARMED" Marines are DEAD and ISIS feels that they have gained another victory.... another score against America!!
Now, that I have gotten that off of my chest, let me tell you about our Amazing Harvest yesterday. Our "Team" met at Alternative Pregnancy Center's new location in Merritt Island.
This is the perfect location to Rendezvous with vital and precious supplies for the babies in Haiti. I was so glad to for Vickie, the Director of APC, to meet Margaret and John, who also find and collect baby food and formula.
We were joined by Mary Ann who heads up a group of ladies that make little dresses for little girls. It was a grand and joyous gathering!! What a great load of supplies!!
Then, once I arrived at the airport, Gary and Kathy, brand new "Water Mules", arrived with sewing supplies and even another sewing machine (supplied by our dear Sister, Cynthia).
Gary has been collecting used tennis balls for the kids. BTW, Gary and Kathy drove 120 miles to make this delivery! Again, where would we be without so many folks standing with us???
Today, I'll be meeting with Paul, our excellent aircraft mechanic. We'll be "running up" the engines on the "Little Donkey" and making sure that all the fuel will be properly transferring that we might have maximum range available to us.
So, it's another day. LET US PRAY THAT SANITY PREVAILS IN AMERICA! That is a BIG PRAYER, as many (particularly our Political Leaders) don't seem to THINK CLEARLY! Again, LET US PRAY FOR AMERICA!
It's time to head out into this day that our Lord has made. Yes, I'll rejoice and be glad in it. As always, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

THIS GIVES ME NIGHTMARES!
I know the story about the "Planned Parenthood" executive, who so casually talked about harvesting and selling BABY body parts, while sipping wine and carefully eating her salad, has been out for a while, but, the deeper one digs into this horrifying story, the more evil it becomes.
Even "Planned Parenthood Advocates" are "uncomfortable!" I know that this story has gotten very, very little play in the Main-stream Media (MSM), but it is time to SHINE THE LIGHT on this terrible thing called ABORTION! - PLANNED PARENTHOOD ADVOCATES "HORRIFIED" BY BABY PARTS SALE!
All we can do is bring the TRUTH out and PRAY that folks will see clearly and have their hearts touched so that CHANGE can take place. How long are we going to allow this HORROR to continue???
My Cousin, Laura, sent me this on what Franklin Graham said when asked "When will Jesus return?" (Thank you, Laura). Here's his crystal clear and wonderful response - WE'RE IN THE "LAST MINUTES" ON GOD'S CLOCK - CHRIST IS RETURNING!
Meanwhile, we're doing what we can to SAVE little babies at home and abroad. We're so THANKFUL for generous and caring donors, like Dr. Florence Alexander, who donated, last night, literally thousands of vitamins that will save babies lives.
Today, I'll be visiting our dear friends at Alternative Pregnancy Center (APC), who has, over the years, helped to save countless babies lives both at home and abroad! What a NOBLE MISSION!!
They'll be helping us with our next load to Haiti with formula, baby food, and so much more. I'll also be meeting Margaret, another Sister in the Lord, who will have more vital supplies for Haiti. Glory be to God!
So, armed with the TRUTH about some, that are savagely killing babies, it's good to know that there are those who are saving babies. I pray that the story on the abortion doctor does not haunt you. I pray that the TRUTH will give us strength to stop this terrible action!
Time for me to head out into this day that our Lord has made and go gather some good stuff for our "next mission". As always, THANK YOU for your precious and vital prayer, love and support!!

"PEACE FOR OUR TIME"????
Sound familiar? It's a quote from Neville Chamberlain after "negotiating" an agreement with Adolph Hitler....just prior to the start of WWII!! How did that work out?? Here's another view - AMERICA TAKES IRAN'S SIDE
The "Bottom Line" is that, Iran seeks the utter and complete destruction of Israel...this is undeniable! How can we reach a "Deal" with such a nation??? Take a look at this story - ISRAEL & SAUDI ARABIA(!) PRESENT A UNITED FRONT AGAINST IRAN "DEAL"
So, we wake up to another day where the leaders of America are taking us down a very, very dangerous road. Folks, all we can do, at this point, is PRAY!!
Peter and I arrived at the Knoxville Airport bright and early yesterday morning, expecting to board a flight at 10:25 for Orlando.
Not so....the flight was delayed by nearly 6 hours. The airline did provide us with a voucher and we chose steak and egg. That took a little sting out of long delay.
Now, that we're back in Florida, I'll be running all over the place gathering those "goodies" for Barbara and the babies in Haiti. Lots of formula, baby food, medicine, etc.
Will also be taking the "Little Donkey" up for a Test Flight to be sure all 14 of those fuel tanks are doing what they're supposed to be doing. It's going to be a busy week, for sure.
Again, Folks, I urge you to PRAY that America gets on the right road. I find myself simply asking God to "Help America" to see clearly!
It's high time to "hit the road" and go collect supplies. As always, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

TIME FOR A "TEST FLIGHT"
This morning, Peter and I will board an aircraft (Allegiant Air) for Florida. It's time to take a "Little Donkey" up for a test flight to verify that all fuel is flowing and "long range" is assured (one of our transfer pumps failed on our last flight). Must admit, I've missed flying this sweet little aircraft!
At the same time, supplies are flowing in for Haiti. It seems that our Lord "sends a notice out" that the babies in Haiti need food and folks respond.
I never cease to marvel at how that works! Glad folks are listening! We'll be gathering supplies for our "next mission".
Peter is preparing for a "Mission to Mexico". He'll be checking on the operation of 2 Air Mobile Rescuers that we sent there about 6 months ago. Peter has "grown up" with the Rescuer and knows the machine quite well. Glad he's going to check on them.
Time to head to the airport. Just a short blog this morning. As always, THANK YOU for your precious and vital prayer, love and support!!

LET'S MAKE A DEAL!!
Well, it looks like Europe and Greece are going to "try again" to get the Economic Crisis under control. At some point, one must take in more than one spends. Simple and true logic!! Here's "The Deal" - GREECE REACHES DEAL WITH CREDITORS...AVOIDS EURO EXIT
Then, the "Deal" we've been tracking for some time with Iran....is about to "close" (maybe). It's difficult to imagine much good coming out of this. The fact is, Iran really, really doesn't like America...or Israel!
If this deal goes through, Israel will be basically left alone to defend itself. Here's more - IRAN TALKS HIT FINAL STAGE, BUT DEAL REMAINS ELUSIVE
Meanwhile, here at the "Retreat Cabin", plans go on for our "next mission". I never cease to marvel at how, just at the right time (JIT), vital supplies come in for Haiti.
My phone keeps ringing and people donate exactly what we need! Barbara will be very happy!!
We'll be gathering up our next load later this week. We're so THANKFUL for generous folks!! It's time to get on with this day. As always, THANK YOU for your amazing love, prayer and support!!

STAN "THE MAN" AND R.A.M. AND AIR MOBILE MEET...TO STRATEGIZE
Having the opportunity to introduce Cindy, Peter and Ariana (and little Andy) to Stan Brock, a living legend, was awesome!!
We spent yesterday afternoon with Stan and what a day we had! We were able to do some serious "strategizing" for Disasters that will inevitably come.
We've worked with RAM around the world, but taking this time to discuss ways and means while face to face was incredible!
Ariana was able to tell Stan all about "Little Andy", our new Puppy. Stan was truly taken by our little Mutt!
Come to find that, Stan is also a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, something he and Peter have in common. So glad that Peter had the opportunity to meet and spend some time with Stan.
We were fortunate to "catch" Stan at his R.A.M. facility. He had just flown in from Chattanooga, where R.A.M. was conducting FREE Medical services to hundreds in need.
Again, it was perfect timing and yes...."Surely, our Lord knows how to deploy His troops" was true again.
Cindy and Stan were able to discuss the Medical aspect of R.A.M. who has tremendous resources including a number of fully equipped Medical Trucks to bring help to the suffering!
I refer to Stan as "Stan the Man" (AKA "Galyon") for many reasons. His career as an Actor and now his "fighting" to save lives just makes his story all the more wonderful.
Our Lord is using Stan in mighty ways and we count ourselves blessed to know this humble, mighty man. We look forward to working more closely with R.A.M. and Stan in the days ahead.
I have to share this "60 Minutes" Story with you. It tells so much about what R.A.M. and Stan are doing. PLEASE take a bit of time and watch this...you'll be glad you did! 60 MINUTES ON R.A.M.!
So, it's Sunday morning in Tennessee. Time to get to church. We truly love and appreciate you and your precious prayer, love and support!!

MEETING WITH A LEGEND
I first met Stan & "Company" (Remote Area Medical or RAM) in Haiti following the terrible earthquake (2010) and in the middle of the Cholera Outbreak. It was a bad time for Haiti and I'm so glad that our Lord put us together with Stan!!
Yes, Stan is a true Legend and has a heart of gold. Some of you may remember Stan as the Co-Star on "Wild Kingdom" with Marlin Perkins. He's also starred in a number of movies, is an accomplished writer, naturalist, a great pilot and one of the greatest philanthropists I have ever had the privilege to know. Here's his Wikipedia Bio - STAN BROCK - PHILANTHROPIST
I have worked with Stan on a number of projects, including Medor, the extremely isolated community in the mountains of Haiti. Stan's persistence and love for people motivated me to keep on keeping on until, together, we got Helicopter Ambulance Service into that desperate community.
Oh, I could write on and on about Stan, but, I just wanted to let you know that Cindy, Peter, Ariana and I will be driving over the Knoxville today to meet with Stan and just have some "good old-fashioned" fellowship. We've cleared out the afternoon so that we can visit without being rushed. I love it!!
RAM is an amazing organization that provides FREE Medical Care both in the U.S. as well as around the world, to literally hundreds of thousands annually and millions over the years. Check out what these guys do...you'll be blown away - REMOTE AREA MEDICAL
We're currently in the middle of a number of projects together, and I can't begin to tell you what a pleasure it is to work with Stan.
We're making very good progress on our "Cabin Project". Soon, we'll have another cooking area and bathroom added to our "Retreat". We're so glad to have this "project" moving forward. Have a feeling that we'll be very glad to have it in the future.
Time for us hit the road and take the pleasant ride to Knoxville. As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A LESSON FROM GREECE
Just came across this insightful article on what is happening to Greece and....America! It all boils down to: No individual, no household, no company, no country can endlessly consume more than it produces.
It really is that simple. But is America – and the world – able to understand?
Here's the article, and it's well worth the read - GREECE IS THE WORD: 4 FACTS ABOUT THE "FINANCIAL CRISIS" THAT AMERICANS CAN'T IGNORE
So, as the World navigates these very volatile economic waters, we can only PRAY that reason and reality will prevail. We've seen our politicians "kick the can down the road" so many times.
If we keep doing that and not facing the REAL problems, then...there will be serious consequences, i.e. GREECE!
So, what does all of this mean to us?? One thing is for sure, it's not a good idea to put too much confidence in our government to do the right thing....or to "take care of us".
Now, I'm not just being critical. All we have to do is look at the "track record" of our officials in regard to making "Good Decisions". I rest my case.
Next, it's a very good idea to..."Make hay while the sun shines" (an old expression that my dear old Mom used to tell me).
The truth is...in the "Natural Realm", there is little that we can do to change our government. We can VOTE and above all, we can PRAY!
But, we can "change" ourselves and the way we think and the way we run our homes and our own budgets. For example, what can we do today to better prepare ourselves for the "hard times"?
I've said this before and it's worth repeating. When we go out to shop, for example, look for those "deals" like, "Buy One - Get One" (BOGO). Buy supplies that you may need for a rainy day or....an economic crash, or a bad storm, or a power outage, etc. etc.
The main thing is to "be aware" and take advantage of the opportunities that avail themselves to us. We need to stay close to the Lord and listen to His direction for our lives.
Having said all of that, it's time to head out into this breath-takingly beautiful day that our Lord has made and....looking for a few more deals. As always, THANK YOU for reading this "rambling blog" and walking down this road with us. We so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!

"GLITCHES"(??) SHUT DOWN NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE!!
OK, you must admit, it was a bit "mysterious" that the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), was shut down for about 4 hours yesterday.
You can call me "Paranoid", but what's going on in China and Greece is causing "traders" to be just a bit "jittery" and....here's more on the "shutdown" - NYSE SHUT DOWN FOR NEARLY 4 HOURS DUE TO A "TECHNICAL GLITCH"
Meanwhile, this just in from China - A "WAVE" of Chinese companies have "PAUSED" TRADING to stop the horrifying 'slide'.
Folks, as I type, some pretty strong winds are blowing and our world economy is teetering - here's the story - WAVE OF CHINESE FIRMS "HALT" TRADING TO AVOID TURMOIL
Now, I'm going to say this again. I'm not sharing these things with you to instill FEAR. I'm simply encouraging you to PRAY about what is happening (in REAL TIME) and to seek our Lord's direction during these turbulent times.
I don't believe that the U.S. Stock Market is going to "collapse" today or tomorrow but....there is no doubt, some very powerful economic storms are occurring around the world right now.
Cindy and I are holding very tightly onto Jesus and diligently seeking his clear direction. You know, this is a good thing to do anyway, particularly in "stormy waters"!
Now, I love Facebook (though, I don't have a lot of time to put into it), but I bet very few people are talking about the "Economic Storms" on "everyone's favorite" Social Media spot.
Facebook is a remarkable tool and I'm going to be putting a link in on my site and I hope that Folks will at least look at and be aware, and above all, PRAY about these "Storms".
Yesterday, Cindy, Ariana, little Andy and I drove all over East Tennessee running out "Craig's List" deals. Our little Gold Escape's wheels hardly stopped rolling.
We found a beautiful used gas stove and hood for $110! The new value would have been about $600! Love Craig's List!!
So, today, the nails are being pounded and the plumbing is being run and we're about to double our cooking and sleeping accommodations and we're even adding another toilet and tub. Now, this is the best we can think of to "Prepare" for stormy days ahead. We've got a lot of kids and grand-kids!!
But don't worry, the Government assures us that there was absolutely nothing "Malicious" about the outage. OK, I feel better now....
Well, it's time for us to "hit the road" again and go search out some more "bargains" to equip our little "Retreat" for "stormy days" ahead.
As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support. And...THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with us. Be blessed and remember...FEAR NOT, for God is with us!!

IS CHINA HEADING FOR A "CRASH"???
What's happening in Greece is "small change" compared to what's been going on in China recently and...it seems the world is "looking the other way".
We need to keep a close eye on what's transpiring in the "Giant of China"! Here's more - THE REALLY WORRYING FINANCIAL CRISIS IS HAPPENING IN CHINA...NOT GREECE!
Here's another story on the "China Situation" from Bloomberg - INVESTORS FLEE FROM "ALL THINGS CHINA"!
OK, I must share one more story with you about the similarities between Greece and America. Brace yourself, this is a pretty "disturbing" story - COULD THESE PEOPLE BE ANY DUMBER??: UNFORTUNATE NEWS FOR AMERICANS ABOUT GREEK DEBT CRISIS!
Back to China, make no mistake, should China "Go Down", we will ALL be affected. So, the big question is...what can we do?
That is where our personal relationship with God comes in. We need to certainly ASK Him for direction and guidance. These are very perilous economic times, for sure!
Cindy and I feel it's very important for us to have a place for our many children (8 is enough) to come in the event an economic crash occurs. We also have 9 Grand children. Will such an event happen? It's not a matter of IF, but WHEN!
We're also looking way beyond our own immediate family. We're looking to have a place set up where many people can come to receive help in time of need. With God, all things are possible.
So, today, we're checking "Craig's List" for bargains on a small refrigerator and a stove. We're doing what we can, while we can. Again, WE ARE NOT PANICKING, we're simply planning for an uncertain future and keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus!
Folks, I'm not sharing these things with you to instill fear. We simply want bring them to your attention so that you might be able to pray about the matters at hand and seek our Lord's direction for your own life and family.
Well, it's time for us hook up our trailer and go find some bargains. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and precious prayer, love and support!!

CHINESE JITTERS
Been following the "World Economy" and things are really beginning to SHAKE! Just came across this story on what is happening in China right now, and it's not good.
Folks, believe me, this a very serious situation. Here's the story - CHINESE CHAOS WORSE THAN GREECE
Going back to Greece for a moment, imagine, if you would, that you lived in Greece and you could not access your money or that your latest "deposit" is about to be seized by the Government.
This is another reason for us all to think about these things and prepare for the "days ahead"....that may be closer than we realize.
I don't want to sound like an "Alarmist" or a "Prophet of Doom", but....we must look at the things that are, indeed, happening and at least bring the matters before the Lord and ask HIM what we should do and how we should prepare for these "Economic Storms" that have already begun to lash countries around the world.
My heart is comforted by the Word of God, "Fear not, for I am with you"! These things are coming upon the world but we are not alone!
Again, our best course is to simply let our Lord lead us. Today, we're working hard around the cabin and working on ways to be "self-sufficient" for the uncertain times that lie ahead.
We're planning to plant a garden (I love fresh greens!). So, it's time to get on with this day....that our Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Oh, we so appreciate you and your love, prayer and support!!

A CLARION CALL & GREECE SHAKES THE WORLD
My Cindy sent me this link and I thought it good to share it with you. It's only two & a half minute long, but the "Call" is crystal clear. Please take a few moments and view it - RISKING IT ALL & FOLLOWING JESUS
Following Jesus can be messy and dangerous, but it's also filled with miracles, grace and joy unspeakable, just to name a few!
You and I, in this rambling blog, have experienced many "adventures" together and faced a multitude of challenges along the way. But in every situation, our Lord Jesus has come through and been with us and given us the victory!
As Cindy and I spend this time at the "Retreat Cabin", we're still in complete touch with "the outside world"....thanks to the internet and a strong connection.
So, here, we've got the best of both worlds; a wonderful time of rest and recharging, but also a magnificent time of praying, planning & preparing!!
Just gotten news from Haiti that there's been another "Political Change" in the Office of Civil Aviation. Seems like about the time we get to know the new Director General (DG), he gets changed.
Well, we have a new DG on-board and I've got to go and meet him and endeavor to keep the momentum that we've established through new and excellent, Air Traffic Control equipment, going forward.
Also, it's time to gather up supplies for Barbara in Haiti. Well, right on cue, just received a call from one our "Gatherers", Margaret, and she's got the beginning of our next load with formula, baby food and diapers. Again, perfect timing!
Paul, our awesome aircraft mechanic is installing a new pump in the wing of the Little Donkey to keep that fuel flowing into the main tank. That's a good thing.
Again, the wonderful thing is, we can keep all of these things going in the right direction, right here at the cabin.
Speaking of which, we enjoy a couple of good games of Rummy each evening. Here, Peter, along with Andy (our new little puppy) are pondering their next move.
The top news over the weekend is about Greece. Their economy has been collapsing for some time and the "ripple" effects are shaking the world's economy. Europe, in particular, is in big trouble. Here's more - IN REBUKE TO EUROPE, GREEKS RESOUNDING 'NO' TO BAILOUT TERMS
We don't know what the effects are going to be, but one thing is for sure, this is an excellent lesson for us all. Particularly in the area of "Preparation".
One of the things we're doing up here at the Retreat Cabin is adding to our ability to prepare food and increasing our sanitation.
In other words, we're putting in a small kitchen and another bathroom in one of the little cabins on the property. Don, our neighbor who is an excellent carpenter, and Peter, are pounding nails and putting in the plumbing.
We're also getting our tiller ready to put in a garden. We've also repaired the pool and it now is working great and will provide a lot good water (10,000+ gallons) for easy purification.
We're doing what we can to get ready for hard times....while we can! Remember to Parable of the 10 Virgins?
So, as you can see, we're not just "sitting on our hands" up here in the mountains of East Tennessee! Yes, we're resting and having some good quiet time, but we're also working hard (and having a lot of fun) and getting ready for the days ahead!
Well, it's time to launch into this beautiful day and get some good stuff done. As always, THANK YOU for your precious and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

A QUIET 4TH OF JULY IN AMERICA / A VERY CLOSE CALL & A LESSON FROM GREECE
Praise God for a quiet Birthday Celebration for America. No known or notable attacks. Thank the Lord!
As I shared with you, Cindy, Ariana and I went to pick up Peter in North Carolina yesterday. It was about a 4 hour drive.
We loved the vistas and the grandeur of the Smokey Mountains. Of course the beautiful roads that are so prevalent in America were a blessing but.....
We stopped at a nice gas station that boasted the "Best Coffee in Tennessee" and also had very cheap gas. Nice combination. After fueling and getting that coffee, I pulled up to a stop light. Was first in line. Soon, the light changed. I started to go, but then, for no apparent reason stopped the roll forward...
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the blue flash and then, right before our eyes, a car roared right through the RED LIGHT doing between 70-80 mph. Had we have simply gone when that light turned green, we'd likely be dead!
So, even on very good roads, there is danger! Thank God for the Holy Spirit that clearly directed me to stop the roll and just wait. Again, TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
Have been following the "Slow Motion Collapse" of the Greek economy. Oh, this is no surprise, it's been a long time coming. There have been many warnings and yet....as the ATM's shut down and the amount of money that could be taken out was just a token, many are scrambling now.
Am reminded of the 10 Virgins that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 25. 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. The "Wise Virgins" went and bought extra oil while the stores were still open and supplies were readily available.
There are many "dimensions" to this parable. The oil, of course, represents the Holy Spirit and our need for the Lord during hard times. But, it also represents a very practical lesson in "Preparing" for hard times.
As I was typing this blog, I noticed 3 beautiful deer (you have to look closely to see them) right on the Retreat Cabin property.
They were very close to the pool (contains 10,000 gallons of emergency water). We're thankful to the Lord for directing us to secure a place where folks can come during "hard times" and find provision and God's love.
May I encourage you to do WHAT YOU CAN to get ready for HARD TIMES! Folks, they are coming and the signs are everywhere. Above all, may you be directed by the Holy Spirit in the days ahead!
So, it's Sunday morning here in the mountains of East Tennessee. We're glad to be alive and able to serve our Lord. Time to get ready for church. Oh, we're so THANKFUL for your precious and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

239 YEARS AGO TODAY....HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!
Yes, I'm proud to be an American...and so are 90% of Americans, according to a recent Gallup Poll.
Our country can certainly do better and I hope and pray that we re-direct the road we're on. Here's more - GALLUP: 9 IN 10 AMERICANS 'PROUD' OF THEIR COUNTRY
At any rate, I'm also THANKFUL to be an American. This nation affords us so many freedoms, especially the freedom to travel the world and bring the Good News of Jesus to a thirsty and hungry world.
Speaking of freedom to travel, this morning, Cindy, Ariana and I will be "on the road" to North Carolina to pick up our son, Peter. He's been at a Youth Retreat and we're close enough to just go pick him up. We've missed that boy!!
In a number of countries around the world, just that simple act would either be very difficult, extremely dangerous or even impossible.
Between road blocks, check points, "highway" robbers, extremely bad roads, etc., the freedom to travel is extremely limited in many places.
Folks, we need to PRAY FOR AMERICA! As a nation, we have so much ability and freedom to do good at home and around the world. I believe this is what our Lord intended for America.
We pray that you have a blessed and safe 4th of July holiday. It's time for us to hit the road to go get Peter. God bless and THANK YOU again for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!!

EVE OF 4TH OF JULY...BE VIGILANT & FEAR NOT!
As America is about to celebrate it's 239th Birthday, Officials are warning of potential "Lone Wolf" attacks. Indeed, these are perilous times and the threat is quite real.
The most important thing for us to do is to PRAY and be AWARE. This is not to instill fear, it's just sound advice.
I am reminded of the Words of Paul to Timothy...."God has not given us the spirit of fear, but Power, Love and a Sound Mine"!
Here's more on this threat - POTENTIAL HOLIDAY THREATS ASSESSED WITH FOCUS ON "LONE WOLF" ATTACKS
Cindy and I have been quite busy here at the "Retreat Cabin". We're working like crazy, but still it's so peaceful and restful here.
Yes, our batteries are "slowly being recharged". At some point, I'm sure we'll just "slow down" and rest, but for now, we're just "going with the flow". As long as we have the energy and drive to work like this, we'll just do it.
In the meantime, we're planning to celebrate the 4th by going to pick up Peter who is in North Carolina on a "Youth Retreat".
We've missed that Boy! Besides, we need to get him here to help us do all this work around the Cabin and this wonderful "Retreat" that our Lord has given to us.
OK, another way to "Recharge" one's batteries is to laugh. Cindy just sent these 20 very corny, but very funny jokes. Have a little laugh on us - 20 JOKES SO "TERRIBLE" THEY'RE ACTUALLY FUNNY
So, on that note, it's time for us to get back to work and try to laugh a little more....it's really fun! As always, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

PLANNING...THE "NEXT MISSION(S)"
Sitting here on the porch, gazing down our beautiful valley, with a gentle rain falling and the humming birds buzzing and the Fourth of July coming, Cindy and I are planning our next "Missions".
Of course, we'll be returning to Haiti soon. We've got 337 Air Mobile Rescuers in that country and they're running quite well. For that, we're very thankful.
Barbara (AKA: Rambo in the Blue Dress) will be needing baby food and formula and other vital supplies.
Been in touch with Paul, our faithful mechanic. He's working on Ti Burik (The Little Donkey) getting it ready for our next flight.
Just heard from Sam in India who is going from village to village bringing clean water where it is desperately needed. We're very THANKFUL for Sam and his family.
Cindy and I are also talking about a "follow-up" trip back to India and Nepal in the fall.
In the meantime, we're managing to have some quiet time and lovely afternoon naps and games of Rummy and delicious meals here in the "Retreat Cabin".
Had some outside chores planned today but....the rain is falling (and it looks like it's going to rain a while) and I guess we'll just have to stay in and....rest.
So, from this little slice of paradise, we bid farewell. As always, THANK YOU for your vital and precious prayer, love and support!!

GOD'S WARNING TO AMERICA
As America is about to celebrate it's 239th Birthday, it is a time to reflect on where and who we are as a nation.
Here is a recent speech given by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn to Members of Congress. PLEASE take a moment and listen to this. Our "National Compass" needs to be re-calibrated!! Here is the speech - GOD'S WARNING TO AMERICA!
I find myself PRAYING for a true Revival to sweep America. So many do not know God and have not experienced His great love to us. For...."God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
Son...."
Never before have I experienced such hatred toward God and hatred toward those who serve Him and it's just beginning. What has happened to our Nation?? Folks, I can only say that "God is good" and serving Him has been the best decision of my life.
As ISIS is raging against the "Cross" and now our U.S. Supreme Court and many of our politicians have raised their fists against God, again, all we can do is PRAY for our nation to come to it's senses and surrender to God!
I am reminded again of the Words of Jesus....."The thief has come to steal, kill and destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly". There, that is the simple and clear truth!
So, as we take a bit of time off to just pull back and yes, retreat from the battles, our hearts are being refreshed and strengthened.
We were blessed to have our good friends, Ken and Ruth drive up from North Georgia to just visit and have some sweet fellowship. Ken has been an "Air Mobile Water Mule" for many years.
He's also a very skilled craftsman. I've seen Ken repair so many things. He's not afraid to tackle any job.
Well, the cabin has a pool that also doubles as a 10,000 gallon water reservoir. It was damaged during our last big ice storm up here.
Ken did his magic and pulled out all of the wrinkles and bends. The old pool is almost like new. Thanks Ken!
Well, it's a beautiful day here in the Smokies. We're refilling our pool / emergency water supply here at the cabin.
As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!
