WHEN WILL JESUS RETURN?

Up early this morning and reading Matthew 24 where Jesus answers His Disciples question of..."When will you return, Jesus?" (Verse 3).

In Matthew 24 and 25, Jesus answers that question quite clearly.  There will be many signs pointing to this glorious event.

As I read them, my heart was filled with joy and I found myself saying...."Come quickly, Lord Jesus".

What I have found over the years, is to simply read the Word and let it speak to my heart.  There are many Commentaries on the Second Coming of Jesus, but the best way to find the answers is just read what Jesus had to say about the matter.

Here is a link to Chapters 24-25.  I have put them here to give you the opportunity to read them for yourself and let Him speak to you directly.  MATTHEW 24 & 25 NKJV

One thing is for sure, we are closer to His glorious return today...then we were yesterday.

So, today, Cindy and I are moving toward our "Next Mission"....wherever that might be.  There is so much need in this world.  We simply want to be where He wants us to be, when He wants us there.

For now, we "Wait on the Lord"....and enjoy the moment. We're so THANKFUL for this retreat cabin and this time of peace and rest.

THANK YOU for joining together with us with your precious prayer, love and support!!

A BEAUTIFUL "SMOKEY MOUNTAIN" MORNING

The peace and quiet is healing for the soul.  Yes, we absolutely love it up here.  The "Dance of the Humming Birds" touches my "Aviator Soul".  Oh, we love those little birds!!

We're equipping the "Retreat Cabin" with a generator / solar system to give us electricity for an extended period of time.

We recently came across a great deal on Solar Panels at Harbor Freight.

If you work the coupons, you can get this 100 watt set up for $149.00!  That is CHEAP!  We're got several of these to keep the batteries charged.

Here's the link to the deal - 100 WATT SOLAR PANEL KIT - HARBOR FREIGHT

While we've been up here, there has been movements and developments on our outreach to South Sudan.

We're continuing to prepare for our next mission to that desperate country.  Can't give any details at this time, but things are happening!

We've also got developments on our outreach to Haiti.  Looks like a mission there will be coming up soon.  Still awaiting details.

In the meantime, we're just enjoying our peace and quiet up here at the "Retreat Cabin".

We're still "glowing" from our visit to the Ark.  What a MIGHTY GOD we serve!!

One thing is for sure....NOAH knew how to PREPARE with the help of our Lord!!

THANK YOU, as always for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

THE ARK ENCOUNTER....WOW!!!

Cindy, Ari and I took a pleasant drive up to Williamstown, KY and there, we found THE ARK!

Oh Folks, if at all possible, we urge you to try to get there and see this incredible display.

Believe me, the Word of God comes alive and yes, there was an Ark and there was a flood and you'd just have to experience this awesome Biblical recreation.

Bravo to Ken Ham and all that worked so hard to make this amazing dream come true!!

Not only were we "dwarfed" by the sheer size of the Ark, but the engineering and pure genius of this "Biblical" feat takes one's breath away.

Note, the people behind us in this shot and you see how tiny they appear next to the Ark!

Once "inside" the Ark, the wonder of how they survived and lived and actually "thrived" is just awesome.

We learned about the way food was grown, ventilation, repairs, care for the animals on-board and so much more for the 7 month journey of the Ark until it settled on Mount Ararat.  Again, all we can say is WOW!

I can't encourage you enough to try to get to the pretty town of Williamstown, KY at sometime in your life and see this incredible display for yourselves!!

We made it back to the Retreat Cabin before sunset.  We just couldn't stop talking about all we had seen.  Truly, the Word of God has come alive in our hearts even more!!

Today, we'll be working on our "Generator System" at the Cabin.  This will allow us to operate somewhat "Off the Grid" in the event of a "Power Outage"....either short term, or long term.

The Message from our day at the Ark is to be PREPARED and listen to the Word of God and ever be seeking His will for our lives!!

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK  YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

TODAY....THE ARK!

We're going to see the Ark.... in Kentucky.  It's only a 3 hour drive.  We're up early and getting ready to "hit the road".

Here's more on this amazing display...right out of the Bible.  We're excited - THE ARK ENCOUNTER

Yesterday, had one more thing to do to one of the old lawn tractors - replace the Head Gasket.

Thank God for "YouTube".  Took it step by step and did it.  Cranked up the little engine and it purred and "didn't smoke".

Meanwhile, pieces are coming together for our "Next Mission".  There are many details that need to be worked out.  Please PRAY that our Lord leads and guides each step of the way!!

So, it's off to see the Ark.  THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CONQUERING THE "STUBBORN NUT" & SPEAKING OF "NUTS"..... & HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

A number of you asked about the "Stubborn Nut"....could it be a left-hand thread?  Meaning that instead of loosening the nut...was I tightening the nut.

The Answer is:  It's a standard right hand thread and YES, finally, after many, many cold chisel hits, it came loose and the threads on the spindle were undamaged.  YEA!

Persistence paid off and it was with joy that a new blade was installed and a new, shiny nut was installed.

Cindy and I really enjoyed mowing around the Retreat Cabin.  The fresh blades and a new belt made short work of high grass.

Speaking of "Nuts", North Korea is treading on some very thin ice.

The world is running out of patience with these reckless and dangerous acts of defiance.

PLEASE PRAY for the leaders of the world to have extreme wisdom with this guy.

And today, in America, we celebrate our Independence Day.  May we ever DEPEND upon our Lord to lead us and guide us.  We have so much for which to be THANKFUL in America!!

I awoke early this morning.  I just lay there giving THANKS for all of His blessings.  Folks, I just named thing after thing after thing.  Giving THANKS is a wonderful thing!

May you be blessed today and THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART...& DEALING WITH A "STUBBORN NUT"!

One of my favorite Scriptures is Proverbs 3.  Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not unto your own understanding...& HE shall direct your path.

Now, that's the way to live.  I need to remind myself of this verse continually.

So often, we have choices before us.  The path is not always clear.  That's the time to call upon Him for direction.

Here, I'd like to share Proverbs 3 with you.  May I encourage you to take just 5 minutes and read it.  Let the wisdom of Solomon sink into your heart.  PROVERBS 3 NKJV

I need a constant infusion the Word of God in my heart.  Far too often, I wing out on my own and don't take the time time just read His Word and allow it to guide my footsteps.

That's one of the reasons Cindy and I love this Retreat Cabin.  It just lends itself to our getting the "Sweet" Word of God into our hearts.

Today, I'm "wrestling" with a frozen nut holding the blade on one of our lawn tractors.  I tried a long "cheater bar".  Tried an impact wrench and even heated it up.  It just wouldn't let go.

Then, I "spun" the socket and now have no choice but to "cut" the nut off with a cold chisel.  Bang, bang, bang.  That stubborn nut will come loose eventually.

All the while, I'll be pondering Proverbs 3 and....asking our Lord for wisdom as to how to get that stubborn nut loose.  Mmmm, there's a lesson in all of this somewhere.

So, on this 4th of July "long weekend", we're just hanging around, doing chores and seeking His Wisdom and Direction.

THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

MUCH FOR WHICH TO BE THANKFUL...

As we, in America, approach our Independence Day on July 4th, our hearts are rejoicing in the freedom and ability to "do good" for our Lord.

This FREEDOM is a gift from God.  Cindy and I are so THANKFUL to be able to travel the world and bring clean water and help to the thirsty and needy.

Above all, we carry the GOOD NEWS of Jesus!

I awoke early this morning and just pondered the peace and quiet of this lovely valley and our retreat cabin.

We're "Waiting on the Lord" for our next mission assignment.  In the meantime, we're just rejoicing that we have a safe and comfortable place to gather our strength for the mission(s) ahead.

We're getting ready for church this morning and again, so THANKFUL that we have the FREEDOM to worship God in this great country.

Yes, GOD IS GOOD...ALL OF THE TIME!  May we encourage you to take a moment and "Count your blessings".  We have so much for which to be thankful!!

THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with us via this rambling blog.  We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!

A STROLL IN THE PARK....KIND OF

We use our little lawn tractors for more than mowing the lawn.

Ari wanted to take a little stroll, so I offered "our little Princess" a grand ride in the wagon.  She quickly accepted and off we went.

Along the way, we picked up a little furry puff ball named "Andy".  In the background, you can see our little red cabin.

We love it up here and just cherish each day we have to enjoy it.

In everything, GIVE THANKS!!

As you know, we're working on getting back into South Sudan.  We're working on the details at this time.

I can tell you, our main goal in returning is helping the vulnerable, especially the children.

Here's another story, featuring Confident Children and Cathy, the Director.  We were privileged to donate an Air Mobile Rescuer to this wonderful refuge for Children.

So, as we recharge and plan, we eagerly await our marching orders to GO.

In the meantime, we'll just enjoy our precious time here at the "Retreat Cabin".

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

THE FAMILY THAT "MOWS" TOGETHER....

GROWS Together, GOES Together, FLOWS together.  Mmmm, the list goes on and on.

It was nice to get both Lawn Tractors up and running.  Together, we get the job done in half the time.  Cindy and I love to mow together!

You may recall, we found that second White Outdoor Lawn Tractor (LT1300) "Abandoned" at the Titusville, FL airport.

I went to the Airport Authorities and asked if I could "haul it away" and they gladly agreed.

With a little tender loving care, the "Abandoned" lawn tractor runs...almost like new.

As you know, we're looking to return to South Sudan to bring clean water where it is desperately needed.  This "Mission" takes a lot of coordination and extreme attention to detail.

Here's a story explaining more of the challenges of doing Relief work in South Sudan - SOUTH SUDAN SAYS AID WORKERS CAN NOT GO TO "INSECURE" REBEL HELD AREAS

The consequences of this "dilemma" is that a lot of innocent refugees are being cut off from food and clean water.  More will die.

Folks, I know that South Sudan is far away from many of you.  It's easy to say, "Well, they are their own worst enemy" but the fact is, there are millions of innocent victims who desperately need help....."The least of these...."

So, here we are at this lovely retreat cabin...planning and praying and seeking His clear direction as to what to do next.  Where shall we go, what shall we do.

For now, we'll continue to work on chores and projects around the cabin.  We're awaiting our "Marching Orders".

As always, and I know that I say this every single day, but I mean it with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

FIGHTING CHOLERA....FROM THE MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE

Though Cindy and I are on a bit of a "Retreat" here at the cabin, we are still actively "Fighting Cholera" in "Hot Spots" around the globe.

We've been following the Cholera outbreak in Yemen and folks, this has grown into the largest most deadly outbreak in the world.

Last week, while our team was in DC, the number of infected was 100,000...today it has grown to 200,000 and GROWING!

Have been up early and writing authorities that can help us get into these areas and bring life saving clean water to those in such desperate need.

Believe me, this situation is breaking the heart of our Lord Jesus.  Remember His words...
When you've done it unto the least of these...you've done it unto Me.

I will admit, getting into these areas is extremely dangerous and requires extreme planning and wisdom.

So, though, we're here in this tranquil and lovely place, we are continuing to fight for those who are in such jeopardy.

The battle goes on and we pray and seek His direction for the "Next Mission".  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

NEWS??

I have to chuckle at the recent "revelations" of certain news sources putting out "Fake News".  Seems there is some truth to these accusations.

And...it's not only CNN that is manipulating the truth!

At any rate, Cindy and I are sticking to the Bible and get our main "News" from the Word of God.

The fact is, Jesus is coming back to this earth and before He does, this old world will go through some hard times.

For hundreds of millions around the world, times are VERY TOUGH....right now!

That is the reason that we must do what we can to help others.

Jesus gives us clear direction...."The King will reply...."

In the meantime, we're enjoying sweet fellowship with our dear friends, Lisa and April.

Had a delicious meal at the "Green Tomato Grill" in Bean Station, TN.  Love those green tomatoes!!

As we're having our "batteries" recharged, here at the cabin, we're getting ready for our "Next Mission"....wherever that might be.

We're awaiting our "Marching Orders" from our Commander and Chief, Jesus.

THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support!!

SWEET SPOT!

OK, I'll admit it.  We have found a Sweet Spot here in the mountains of East Tennessee.  We absolutely love it up here and seek to get here as often as we can.

Just the way we put out a bit of nectar for the hummingbirds, we gravitate to this "Sweet Spot".

Who said...."You can't have your cake and eat it too?".

Certainly, not the Lord.  Every good and perfect gift comes  from above.

We were blessed to have Lisa and April (our dear friends who work with us at the hospital in Orlando) come to this sweet spot.
A simple thing like sitting around a fire is just sweet.

As I've said, there are always chores and repairs to do around the cabin.

I finally, after 2 days, found the problem with our lawn tractor.  It was actually a combination of things.

Can tell you, I prayed multiple times asking our Lord to show me where the problem(s) were.  He did!!

Then....I cranked it up and it ran just fine.  I love taking broken things and fixing them.

That's certainly what our Lord has done in our lives.

We will always have major problems in this world.  And there are times that our Lord says "GO" and times that He says..."REST".

It's nice to rest in this "Sweet Spot".

So, as I say every single day, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your sweet prayer, love and support!!

WAITING.....

It seems that Cindy and I are either planning, going or "Waiting".

For now, we're in the "Waiting" mode.  We know that terrible things are happening in South Sudan, as well as in that entire region.

As you know, we recently went there.  It is very bad.  We want to go back.

But...things must happen before we can return.  It is a combination of  logistics, safety and funding.

All I can say now is...pieces are coming together and when they are right, we'll launch and go.  For now, we take and enjoy this "Waiting" period of peace and rest and tranquility.

Of course, we're always busy around the cabin.  Cindy just finished re-doing a bedroom.  I'm running out why our lawn tractor is smoking and dying.  Looks like a "blown head gasket".  Have one ordered.  Ariana is learning how to sew.

We have dear friends, Lisa and April, who are enroute to spend a few days with us.

But above all, we're "Waiting" and listening for our "deployment" orders to come.  In the meantime, we're just enjoying our time here at the retreat cabin!

THANK YOU for hanging around this rambling blog with us.  We're THANKFUL to have you with us on the journey.  We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!

PEACEFUL VALLEY....CLEARED FOR LANDING

Our Lord gives good gifts.  This "Retreat" is such an awesome blessing to our family and so many others.  We've been "Cleared for Landing" for a quiet season.

We can just take the time and "drink" in His goodness and strength and joy!

Here's just a micro slice of the beauty and peace we encounter in this wonderful place, this "Peaceful Valley"!

Of course, there is always work to be done.  Our little lawn tractor seems to have blown a head gasket.

With the wonder of Amazon, we'll have a replacement here in a couple of days.  What an amazing system (Amazon).

It even reaches all the way here in the mountains of East Tennessee.  Again, we're THANKFUL for these blessings.

Cindy has been busy sewing and creating beautiful things here at the cabin.

She just made this "Prairie Bonnet" for Ari.  I guess there's something about the air and the peace and pure joy of having this time to refuel.

We're getting ready for Church and will enjoy another peaceful day, here in our lovely valley.

BTW, we're awaiting certain things to clear and get into position before we return to South Sudan.

For now, we're just enjoying our time here.

As always, THANK YOU for your gracious and precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

AHHHH...THE CABIN

I rolled up to the cabin at 4:45am.  Had a late start from Florida, due to a couple of extra chores*.  Also, the remnants of Tropical Storm "Cindy"slowed down the drive.

But, OH, it was so good to finally be here at the Cabin in the Mountains of East Tennessee!  Cindy and Ari held down the fort beautifully!!

That first cup together tasted exceptionally delicious, because, I was with my sweet Cindy and Andy.

Back to those "Chores*" before I "hit the road".

Remember I shared that I had gotten a Parking Ticket in DC?  I said then that I couldn't believe that I was ticketed because I could not see a sign prohibiting parking anywhere;

Before departing DC, I returned to the "Scene of the Crime" (illegal parking) and talked about it with a "Federal Reserve" Security Officer who happened to be standing there when I drove up.

He showed me a Federal Reserve Van that would have been parked "in front of the the DO NOT PARK sign".  It was impossible to see the sign from where I parked.

So....I wrote it all up and with multiple photos explaining it all and...mailed it to the Adjudication Section.

Yes, there is a time "Fight" a ticket, even though it was just $30.00.  It was the "principle" of the thing.  They may actually place those signs where they can be seen.

Once my "Denial of Ticket" packet was prepared, I mailed it off.

Then.... I hit the road for the 12 hour trip to Tennessee and my Cindy and Ari!!

It's so good to be here for a bit.  We have a full set-up and functional office.  So, whether we're in Florida or TN, we can still conduct our ministry business.

We so THANK GOD for this wonderful "Retreat Cabin".

Time for that second cup and find out why one of the Lawn Tractors is not working. I love it!!

As always, THANK YOU for you invaluable prayer, love and support!!

GETTING READY FOR A "ROAD TRIP" TO....TENNESSEE

Well, the saga of delays and wicked weather let up and I finally made it home.

American Airlines did a good job of shuffling all those folks that missed their flights from the evening before.

They even offered me a $500 Flight Voucher, if I'd be willing to give up my seat, but it wasn't necessary.

Once home, set about taking care of bunch of chores and things.  Peter is taking care on our home front.

We had a beautiful seafood dinner last night at Shiloh's in Titusville.

And Cindy, I didn't get my fish fried (been trying to eat better) and had a lovely salad to boot.

Will wrap up few things here at home and hit the road later today.
Personally, I love this drive up to the Tennessee Retreat Cabin.  It's a wonderful time to pray and reflect on where we've been and where we're going.

Can hardly wait to be with my Cindy and Ari.  It's been too long!!

THANK YOU, as always for meandering down this road with me.  I so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!!

A "WICKED" LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS...SHUT DOWN PHILLY

It was time to head home from DC.  Arrived at Reagan International early.  Boarded the small Regional Jet (CRJ700) right on time, taxied for take-off and then.....

Philadelphia International closed, as a violent line of thunderstorms raged through.  We sat on the tarmac for nearly 3 hours.

Finally, we were cleared for take-off for the 30 minute flight.  Of course, I missed my connecting flight....and so did a lot of other folks.

Got a "slight" discount on a room here in Philly and have been rescheduled on an early flight.  After about 4 hours of sleep, up early and getting ready to go find a Shuttle Bus for the airport.  Such is life.

Meanwhile, to our south, here comes..."Cindy"....Tropical Storm Cindy that is.

She's packing a lot of rain and flash flooding can be deadly.  We're keeping a close on this first named storm of the season.

Here's more - TROPICAL STORM "CINDY" MOVING IN ON GULF COAST - LIFE THREATENING FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLE AS STORM MOVES INLAND

"ON THE HILL"....TRAVELING WITH A LEGEND!

Traveling with Stan Brock, is truly..."Traveling with a Legend"!

Everywhere we went, "On the Hill", folks seemed to know Stan.

We are in DC seeking help and guidance on our joint mission to South Sudan (RAM AIR MOBILE RELIEF MISSION).

Stan is also seeking to make it easier for Doctors to cross state lines to volunteer in RAM Free Medical Clinics. He's also advocating to get Vision and Dental added to the new Health Care law.

Remote Area Medical (RAM) has provided FREE Health Care to over 1,000,000 people!  Stan has a heart of love and care for others!  It's an honor to work with Stan!

Before arriving "On the Hill", I picked up our Visas from the South Sudan Embassy!

Yea! It's very good having the Passports, with the New Visas in them, "In Hand"!

I had a bit of free time before the first "On the Hill" meeting.  Went straight to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.  I love this place!

I seem to always end up just gazing at the "Spirit of St. Louis".  What Charles Lindbergh did in that little airplane was truly HEROIC!

Then it was "On the Hill".  Senator Corker was delighted to have his picture taken with Stan!  That's just the way it is.

BTW, Senator Corker was in Uganda when our team was in South Sudan.

He helped us a great deal on our first mission there.  Our meeting was very helpful toward our next mission to that region.

Stan's compassion and love for people works on both sides of the aisle.

We left Senator Corker (Republican) and visited with Senator Kain (Democrat).  What a blessing seeing this bond of unity on caring for people who are suffering!

Today, Stan and the RAM Team will be back "On the Hill".

Stan has a plan to save thousands of wild mustangs here in America and get them shipped to Guyana (where they are desperately needed).

At the same time, this plan will save the American Tax Payers literally millions of dollars.  Folks, truly, this man is a LEGEND!!

I'll be flying back to Florida later today and....seeking to a bit of rest and relaxation with my precious Cindy and Ari.

Time to check out and catch a flight.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support.  I'm so glad to have you with us on this amazing journey!!

A VISIT TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE....TRAVEL WARNINGS & A PARKING TICKET

Began yesterday with an early morning drive from Arlington to DC.

Found a "legal" parking spot...or so I thought, and made the short walk to the State Department.

Arrived about an hour early and just enjoyed sitting in the lobby and watching folks come and go.

Our purpose of meeting with the State Department was to get critical information before launching our next RAM AIR MOBILE RELIEF MISSION to South Sudan and beyond.

Stan and company (Jeff and Anabel) arrived right on time and we went into our meeting with Rich Peterson, head of the South Sudan "Desk".

Rich had arranged for other "Desks" of neighboring countries, as well as USAID to be in our meeting.

The exchange of information was invaluable.  We were able to share the successes we had on our last mission to South Sudan.

We were also properly "Warned" of the dangers & challenges we would face on our next "Mission" to the region.

At the end of our meeting, Rich escorted us out and we got permission to take a group photo in the famed lobby of the State Department.

Before bidding Rich farewell, Stan had a gift for him.  A copy of his book, "All the Cowboys were Indians".

Folks, the meeting went extremely well and we're very THANKFUL to our Lord for opening these doors.

"In the Multitude of Counsel, there is wisdom and safety"!

As we approached the rental car, I was shocked, to see a Parking Ticket on my windshield.

I did not see a "Do Not Park" sign anywhere!  Oh, well, such is driving and parking in DC.

From the State Department, we made the short ride to the South Sudan Embassy.  There we met Sarah, who has been very helpful to us in obtaining our all important Visas.

Without the Visa, there is no travel there.  The last time I sent my Passport via UPS,,,,it got "misdirected" and I almost missed my flight to South Sudan.

This time, the passports for our team were "hand delivered" and will be, hopefully, ready for pick up today.

Today, we'll be in more meetings "On the Hill".  May our Lord lead us each step of the way.

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

LEAVE THE FLYING TO....AMERICAN

Up early, arrive at the Orlando International with plenty of time to have a nice breakfast.  No need to have the stress of a rushed morning.  Ahhhh.

Had a lovely and smooth flight to Washington, DC.  Staying in Alrington and will be in meetings beginning this morning.

Our first stop:  The U.S. State Department.  On our last mission to South Sudan, the State Dept. was invaluable in helping us with excellent contacts.

Many strategic doors were opened allowing us to get CLEAN WATER where desperately needed.

I'm joined by Stan Brock, the founder of Remote Area Medical (RAM).  Our combined outreach to South Sudan is called:  RAM AIR MOBILE RELIEF.

We've had the privilege to work with Stan and RAM all over the world.  What an amazing organization!!

Here's what Wikipedia had to say about RAM and believe me....this is just tip of the iceberg.

Today, we'll also be dropping our Passports off at the South Sudan Embassy.

You may recall, on our last mission to South Sudan, our passports got "diverted" and we didn't have them in hand until just a few hours before our flight.

We'll hand deliver them today and....hopefully pick them up tomorrow.

The situation in South Sudan is getting worse by the day as the number of refugees skyrocket!  Here's more - SOUTH SUDAN HAS WORLD'S FASTEST GROWING NUMBER OF DISPLACED

Oh, I was so busy yesterday getting to DC, I forgot it was Father's Day.  Messages from Cindy and the Kids and friends poured in all day.  THANK YOU!!

Time to go get breakfast and face the Monday Morning DC Traffic....and hopefully, will find "Parking" relatively close to our meetings.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

DICEY WX.....& THE "MISSION" GOES ON!!

It was time to head home.  The Weather looked pretty "Dicey", but....with 14 fuel tanks, giving me a lot range, I had a lot of choices along the route.

Arrived at the airport early, did a good pre-flight, crawled in and had a final word of prayer.

I knew that the flight home would be challenging.  Over the years, I've landed on just about every Bahama Island along the route.

It would be NO problem to just set down on one of those Islands, if the weather got ugly.  I simply asked our Lord to make a way through.

There, I found a sweet altitude of 12,500' and for the next 4 hours flew through light rain "in between layers".  God is good!!!!

After clearing customs in Fort Pierce and making the short flight to our Home Base in Titusville, I snapped a shot of the weather.

It was still ugly, but I knew that our Lord had given me a sweet path home.  THANK YOU JESUS!!

I only have time to enjoy one cup of coffee with our pretty orchids and tranquil view before....flying to Washington DC on American Airlines this morning.

Stan Brock, of Remote Area Medical (RAM) and I will be in meetings with the U.S. State Department regarding our Mission to South Sudan.

We'll also be meeting with Senator Rubio's office, as well as Senator Corker.

We hope to be able to return to South Sudan soon. It is just absolutely devastated by war, famine and disease (cholera).  Here's just one story - SOUTH SUDAN'S DISPLACED SEE LITTLE CHANCE OF PEACE

It's not a time to rest (though I'd love to join Cindy and Ari at the Tennessee Cabin for a "spell"), but there is just too much going on.  And...we have a critical answer, CLEAN WATER!

So, the "Mission" goes on and our Lord is giving me special strength.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

FOLLOWING UP...

One of our projects for Haiti has been improving Air Traffic Control communications.  Spent the day meeting with OFNAC Officials (the FAA of Haiti) and verifying that all is functioning well.

In this shot is my dear friend for 35 years, Pastor Enock Raymond.  Enock is now in charge of testing and verifying that all ATC systems meet international standards.

We spent time going over recent OFNAC changes and then....we had some great fellowship in Jesus.  Enock loves the Lord and we have so many stories of God's Amazing Grace in our lives over the years.

While at the airport, fueled the Little Donkey.  Also visited with my good friends at MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) and THANKED John for diagnosing and repairing the rudder peddle connect from the other day.

You know, I say this a lot, but it is so TRUE....."Surely, our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"!!

So, on this beautiful Saturday morning, I go forth, in His Name.  What lies ahead?  I don't know, but I do know that....He does!

Thank you, as always for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

CHASING A "GOLDEN" SUNRISE

Yesterday morning, I was up early...long before the sun rose.  The time was right.

The Little Donkey was ready, loaded and fueled. Did a final pre-flight, boarded and took off for Haiti.

Had a bit of weather along the route, but with plenty of fuel, should be no problem.

I could hear the traffic going into Miami and there were "holds" as the storms were brewing.

The Little Donkey skirted just on the east side of them.

I climbed to 15,000' and settled down to a nice ride.  I began to see the sun peeking on the horizon.  Been flying this route for 37 years and it never gets old.

Each spectacular sunrise unfolds with unique beauty.  It's difficult for me to explain the wonder of it all.

The snaps barely capture the live beauty of a Caribbean sunrise.

Then, in a moment, in full majesty, the GOLDEN SUNRISE bursts forth.  To God be the Glory!!!

His wonders are new every morning!!

The weather continued to brew and stew just to the west of my course, but again, our Lord made a way and even gave me a little Rainbow.

All throughout the 5 hour flight, I monitor my Oxygen level.  So thankful for the tools that we have.  This Pulse Oxymeter lets me know just how much O2 I have.  Another good safety feature.

The cabin of the Little Donkey was full to the brim.  I took this short clip to give you a brief tour of the cockpit during this lovely flight.

As I was descending into Port-au-Prince, a small bolt connecting the rudder pedals to the rudders, failed!  Remember, this little airplane is 47 years old.  This bolt has likely been in place for all of those 47 years.

I knew that the landing would be tricky.  And yes, I called on the Name of Jesus...multiple times.

There was a crosswind and it would have been nice to have those rudders, but with a lot of aileron, and a great deal of prayer, the Little Donkey landed safe at Port-au-Prince.  Again, TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Within 10 minutes, John Munsel, MAF Pilot / Mechanic found the problem and replaced that little bolt with a new one.

I did a test flight and the Little Donkey is good to go again!

When I walked through the General Aviation Terminal, was pleasantly surprised to see our good friend, Cindy Scarborough who is in Haiti on a mission.

I shared my landing story and we prayed giving God all the Glory for helping me land the Little Donkey.

So, sitting at the Haiti Desk, sipping a cup of coffee, I'm planning this day that our Lord has made.  What adventure lies ahead?  Surely, He knows and I'm holding tightly onto His hand!

THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

WHAT I DO IN MY...SPARE TIME

Every pilot...who flies over large bodies of water, thinks about...what would happen if I have to "Ditch" the plane?

BTW, this is a "Stock photo" of a Cessna 337 "Ditching" -

Believe me, on those long hours of flying over the waves... just brings that thought to mind...many times.

We think the procedures through and hope...that everything works well IF it is necessary to "Ditch".

Well, we recently acquired a 4-6 man raft that was "Out of Date".  It needed to be sent to the manufacturer to be refurbished.  Before it could be shipped, it had to be inflated...otherwise, I'd pay a fortune for "Hazardous Material".

Mmmm, I thought.  What a grand opportunity.  I'll video it and share it with you.  That's what Yahn and I did yesterday.  Here it is -

When I pulled the lanyard, it didn't inflate at first.  I had to grab it and give it a good pull for it to work.  Now, I've experienced it...in a simulated condition, but none the less, I kind of know that it feels like.

We spent yesterday organizing the supplies destined for Haiti.  And...the Little Donkey is all cleared for "Take-Off".  We're just waiting for our "Release" from the Lord.

I'm just waiting for the sun to rise to see the beauty out of my back yard.  I love those quiet peaceful moments, with a good cup of coffee in hand.

I'm also pleased that Barb and Ari made it up to Tennessee to join my Cindy on their adventure.  All is well with them.

Thank you, as always for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

A PEACEFUL MORNING....THE DAY IS JUST BEGINNING

I absolutely love the early morning.  Beautiful sunrise, a delicious cup of coffee and pondering the love of God....to vast to grasp.

These precious moments need to be tucked away into my memory and brought out when things get hectic and intense...as is often the case when we're in field fighting "cholera" or some other dread disease.

Thank God for these peaceful moments.

Well, Barb and Ari made it to Tennessee and are now with my Cindy.  They'll be having a great time on a "working retreat".

Meanwhile, Yahn is busy building Air Mobile Rescuers, getting ready for the next deployment.

Paul and I have been getting the Little Donkey ready for the "Next Mission...maybe".  We're awaiting our "Release" order from the Lord.  Such is the life of a Missionary Family.

We're THANKFUL to the Lord for giving us great tools as the Air Mobile Rescuer that can make very dirty water and make it very clean.  This is often a "Life-Saver".

We're THANKFUL for so many Volunteers (I call them our precious "Water Mules") who travel the world with us bringing clean water to the thirsty.

We're THANKFUL for the Little Donkey, that we've flown all over this hemisphere bringing clean water and the love of God to the suffering.

Yes, we have much for which to be THANKFUL.  I'M especially THANKFUL for you, for your invaluable prayer, love and support.

So, it's time to head out into this beautiful day that our Lord has made.  God bless you and THANKS again!!

BARB & ARI ON AN....ADVENTURE / MISSION

Yesterday morning, I drove Barb and Ari to the airport for an early flight to Tennessee to join Cindy on a "Mission".

We arrived 2 hours before flight time and we "thought" all was well.

Before I could drive away, Ari ran out and informed me that the flight was CANCELLED!

It was delayed for 24 hours.  I offered to bring them home and try again tomorrow.

Barb got that little twinkle in her eye and said..."Mmmm, this could be quite an adventure".

The airline had offered a meal / hotel voucher and who knows what other "Goodies" Barb might be able to get.

"No" she said, "I think we'll just let the airline take care of us and who knows what else".  That's Barb.

My Ariana will spend some time with a "Missionary Legend" and learn how to take an unfortunate event (cancellation) and turn it into a grand adventure.

That's just what they've been doing. They should be arriving at the airport now to "try again".

Meanwhile, I've been working on the Little Donkey.  Was scheduled to take it up for a test flight yesterday.  Yahn and I did our pre-flight, crawled on-board and there, to my chagrin, sat the Master switch...in the "ON" position.

It was me.  The last time I went into the Little Donkey, I turned on the Master Switch to check something and....forgot to turn it off.  I was the guilty party.

The battery was so dead, there was not .001 volt.  We've been letting it charge all day and night and we may...be able to revive it.  We'll find out this morning.   If it doesn't come back to life, we do have a plan B.

So, today, the "Adventure" continues.  We pray that Barb and Ari make it to Tennessee to join my Cindy.

We'll continue to get the Little Donkey all ready for..."The Next Mission" and life goes on.

And.... we know that "All things work together for good....."!

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

BARBARA & ARI ON A "MISSION"

Several days ago, my Cindy went to Tennessee on a "Mission".  Well, it was kind of a "working retreat".

This morning, Ariana and Barb will be flying to meet her there.  We're up early to catch that flight.  Going to miss them, but such is the life of a "Missionary Family".

Yesterday, Barb (The "Celebrity") met a number of families that have her "Rescued Children".  One such family is Dr. Steve & Millie Badolato.  They adopted little Lensa 8 years ago.

She is a "Miracle".  Her body was severely burned and with love and care and a divine healing by our Lord, this lovely young lady is full of life and love!

Lensa and Ari are very good friends!  It is so much fun to watch them together.  I love this shot with Barb in the middle!

It's time to dash out the door and go put Barb and Ari on that flight to join my sweet Cindy in Tennessee.

Meanwhile, I'll be working diligently on the "Next Mission" to.....?  Not sure if it'll be Haiti, Washington DC or South Sudan.  Our Lord knows!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

PERFECT TIMING...

Joe Polozola, the man that introduced me to Jesus (many years ago!), is a master plumber....and a highly valued Board Member for Air Mobile.

He and I manage to get together from time to time, but it usually takes some serious coordination.  We're both pretty busy.

After multiple attempts to get a little plumbing job done in our home, we settled on Saturday morning (yesterday).

Little did we know that, the ever moving Barbara...would drop in, from Haiti, the evening before!!

Oh, I needed to be able to just "Download" all that has been happening!

The "South Sudan Mission" is extremely complicated and quite dangerous.  We need God's Wisdom and Guidance!

In the Multitude of Counselors...there is wisdom and safety!!

After getting the little plumbing job done, we sat down and I laid out every detail of all that was accomplished on our last mission to South Sudan and....how the next mission is shaping up.

Can't begin to tell you what a blessing it was to share all that our Lord is doing with my great friends and counselors, Barb and Joe!!

They had great insight and wisdom indeed.  I truly love the way our Lord deploys His troops...with perfect timing!

Being with Barb is like being with a "Celebrity".  With literally thousands of children whom she has adopted, there are folks everywhere that love Barb.  Her phone is ringing continually.

One couple, Pastor Chris and his wife Joanna have known Barb for nearly 30 years.  It just so happened that they were passing through and showed up.  It was a grand reunion.

Today is another "Adventure" with Barbara!

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

"WALKER ALERT"

Barbara is like a member of our family.  She certainly is, due to the fact to 2 of our daughters were rescued by this intrepid "Lady of God".

We are not alone.  Barbara, (AKA:  "Rambo in the Blue Dress" - so named for her dogged determination to complete a mission of Rescue) has rescued over 2500 children for adoption

Well, yesterday afternoon, the phone rang.  Two words...."WALKER ALERT".  I simply replied..."What time do you land?"  That's the way it is.

Barb's daughter works for American Airlines, giving her "Free" travel privileges.  Barb works the system and is able to travel all over the world...and she does.  It was time for Barb to get a perm at Walmart (her favorite store).

At 8:30 last night, she was standing on the curb.  I love my job as a Missionary serving in the Body of Christ with such extraordinary people, as Barb!!

Just like that, my schedule changes a bit, but Barb always brings life, and incredible humor and exceptional wisdom.  Barb has served on my Board for years!

It just so happens that I need Barb's insight into a situation.  So, for this weekend, I'll have the privilege of laying out all of the details of our upcoming South Sudan (and beyond) life-saving mission.

And...completely (uncoordinated by me), my life-long friend and Board Member, Joe Polozola is coming by my house this morning to do a little plumbing.

Totally arranged by our Lord Jesus, are my two most precious advisers arriving at my home at the same time.

Yes, "SURELY, OUR LORD KNOWS HOW TO DEPLOY HIS TROOPS!!"

Oh, we're going to have a good time.  I'm so relieved to be able to lay out every detail of what we're doing in South Sudan and get their precious insight and widom.  God is good!!

I'm very grateful to have you on-board with your precious prayer, love and support!!

MEANWHILE....CHOLERA CASES TOP 100,000 IN YEMEN & RAPIDLY CLIMBING!

Cholera is an absolutely dreadful disease killing in hours if....clean water / re-hydration is not given RAPIDLY!

I know from personal experience.  I got cholera while bringing Air Mobile Rescuers to "Ground Zero" (where the disease "exploded" in Haiti).

I accidentally touched an infected person.  Hours later...  I became violently ill and without a lot of clean water... could have easily died.

The truth is...I was a bit careless.  But, that experience has produced a lot of empathy in me for the stricken.

We're watching the rapid spread of Cholera from South Sudan to Yemen.  Here's more on the "explosion in Yemen" (over 100,000 NEW cases since May!!)CHOLERA: THE PLAGUE OF THE POOR

We're working diligently on finding funding and clearing the way to return to South Sudan and "possibly" get some Air Mobile Rescuers into "War-Ravaged" Yemen.  This will be a very delicate operation and we truly need your prayer for guidance!!

Meanwhile, this report just in from South Sudan - SOUTH SUDAN: GUNMEN KILL 14 & WOUND 35 IN AMBUSH ON CONVOY

Suffice it to say...South Sudan is a very dangerous place!

HARD REALITY OF WAR-TORN SOUTH SUDAN &....A STORY OF HOPE AND LOVE!!

The grim reality of South Sudan is how the children suffer.  While we were in Juba, our Lord led us to meet Cathy of "Confident Children Out of Conflicet" (CCC).  What an AMAZING LADY OF GOD!

It was our joy and great privilege to present Cathy of CCC an Air Mobile Rescuer.

This morning, I saw this story done on CCC and the AWESOME work Cathy is doing to RESCUE girls from "Hell".

Here's the story (Warning:  Some of the content of this story is disturbing, but a tragic reality)- IN SOUTH SUDAN'S WAR, SHELTER PROTECTS GIRLS FROM SELLING SEX

Dr. Aaron was the one who directed our team to CCC.  Thank you, Aaron!!

After we set up the Rescuer and showed Cathy how that ALL of the children in CCC can now get clean water, Cathy sent me this E-mail.

Dear Joe,
Thank you very much for the gift of that most wonderful water plant. All the girls went to church in their beautiful dresses with their dolls.
Their Sunday School teacher is copied in here, and he is also the MAF contact I got for you.

We needed such a tool so much and my colleague Helen was stunned to hear about the water plant and how you and Dr. Web just turned up with it. God sent you to our centre and my God bless you.

The water plant is amazing, we have produced over 120 litres of water since yesterday. We cleaned the very dirty filter twice and removed the air 3 times.
The machine continues to fascinate every one who sees it. Elger was so fascinated he can't wait to receive theirs.

Here is Elger's number 0954399754 if you would like to contact him. Send our regards to the ladies who made the dresses.
blessings.

This is what our Lord Jesus wants us to do and you're part of it!!

Yesterday was an amazing day.  Had the honor to speak to 250 children and tell them about missions and bringing CLEAN WATER in the Name of Jesus!

INDIANA JONES NIGHT AT THE HURSTON'S

Christian called me the other day and said, "Let's introduce the kids to Indiana Jones".

It hard for me to believe that this great flick came out in June 1981.

My, my...how time flies!!  Our kids had never seen any of the movies.

So, last night, we all gathered around the TV and watched "Raiders of the Lost Ark".  Oh, it was fun!

I must admit, I really like the character, Indy, and Harrison Ford plays the role perfectly!

And yes, the kids loved "Raiders".  We're scheduling in another one soon.

Meanwhile, earlier yesterday, was busy trying to figure out how to get Air Mobile Rescuers into Yemen.

The Cholera outbreak can soon reach 300,000.  This is staggering.  The need for clean water, especially in the isolated areas is urgent.  Our biggest challenge will be getting them there and staying alive!

Today, Cindy, Ariana and I will be bringing the Air Mobile Rescuer to a VBS (Vacation Bible School) at Calvary Chapel, Merritt Island.

We'll be demonstrating the remarkable purifier to 5 classes ranging from Kindergarten to teens.  Should be fun.

Time to head out the door and encourage young folks to serve our Lord and bring clean water to the thirsty.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

IN THE "CALM"

While sitting at my desk, with the tranquil scene outside our "Florida Room", my mind often goes back to where we've just been.

The peace and beauty surrounding me is comforting, but the memories are haunting.

The fact that I can get up and get a cool glass of clean water, or push the button and have a cup of delicious coffee is a blessing and I'm very THANKFUL.

However, knowing that there is something that we can do to bring the simple gift of clean water to a desperately thirsty child is ever with me.

What can I do today to bring that to pass?  That is where I simply ask our Lord to lead and guide me this day.

Last night, Stan Brock and I were talking late into the evening as to how we could get clean water to the sick and thirsty in Yemen.

Cholera is RAGING and millions are without access to clean water in that war ravaged country.  What can we do?  Jesus said...."I was thirsty and you gave me to drink!"

Traveling to Yemen is STRONGLY advised against due to the on-going violence.  However...we are working on a plan.  Can't give any details at this time, but a plan is coming together.

Here is the Travel Warning:  YEMEN TRAVEL WARNING / ALERT

For that reason, again, I come to you and ask you to join together with us, as never before, with your prayer, love and support!!

We need to hear clear direction on this mission.  God bless!!!

AIR MOBILE....RECRUITING

Joe Prussel is no stranger to Air Mobile. We've been all over the world together.  He is, as we say, a PREMIER WATER MULE!

On numerous occasions, Joe has dropped everything and joined us on critical missions in some very "dicey" countries (Myanmar, Philippines, Haiti, Nepal...to name a few).

Over the weekend, we met at Cracker Barrel and discussed...South Sudan.  We will be returning....sometime in the near future.

Can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate our Volunteers (AKA - "Water Mules").  Our Lord has given us the BEST!!

"SURELY....OUR LORD KNOWS HOW TO DEPLOY HIS TROOPS"!!

Meanwhile in neighboring Yemen, Cholera has raised it's ugly head.  There are 3000-5000 NEW cases DAILY!  Here's more - 3000-5000 NEW CASES OF CHOLERA...DAILY!

"Yemen is one of the worst places on earth...to be a child"!

The need for CLEAN WATER is urgent.  We are in prayer about reaching into Yemen....possibly from South Sudan.

So, on this Monday morning in America...it's time to "Get back to work"!

The "Jet-Lag" has slowly diminished and I'm back on a regular schedule.  Coffee makes it work!

As I say every single day, without exception, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable and precious prayer, love and support!!

JESUS SAVES!

What a DIFFERENCE.  When the Lord Jesus reached down and saved me...out of a very dark place, He put in my heart the desire to SAVE lives.

What just happened on London Bridge and Manchester and Manila and....the list goes on and on, is NOT inspired by a loving God.

What kind of deception and blindness and cruelty is at play in the hearts of TERRORISTS!

Let us PRAY for those innocent ones who have been brutally attacked.  Let us PRAY for those who have been so completely DECEIVED as to think and believe that such terrible acts are pleasing to GOD.

So, on this Sunday morning, as we prepare for Church, we go forth in His Name to bring life and joy and hope through the GOOD NEWS of JESUS!

THANK YOU again for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

EAT...SLEEP...CHILL

Cindy made me scratch pancakes with a little Andouille sausage.  Mmmmm.  Oh, how I've missed my Baby's home cooking!

Now, when I fell in love with Cindy, I knew that she was  an amazing and beautiful "Lady of God", but.... she's an awesome cook to boot.  I am a BLESSED MAN!!

Then, for dessert, hot Blueberry Muffins!  Now, that's living and just enjoying life.

Didn't have anything on my schedule for the day, except eating, sleeping and chilling!

Spent some quiet time just gazing out of our back window.  We love orchids.  Here's a lovely shot of an "Orchid Crane".

Then, a few minutes later, the "Orchid Crane" flew away and "Mr. Orchid Gator" glided in...looking for another gator.  Love the "Nature Show" out of our back window.

Just a few days ago, our team was in South Sudan bringing clean water to thirsty, sick and desperate people.

It does seem as if I'm on a different planet.  There is a time to just chill, reflect and refuel.

I praise God for this precious opportunity.

OK, I will admit to responding to a number of e-mails from South Sudan.

Yes, we are already planning our next mission.  Not sure where it will be or when it will be, but there will be, with our Lord's help, the "Next Mission".  For now, just rest.

SAFE!!! AT HOME BASE....GOOD TO BE HOME

Our journey home began on Tuesday....I walked across the threshold of our home at midnight on Thursday (last night).  South Sudan is far from Titusville, FL!

However, the images and suffering and danger of South Sudan are still very much with me.

The question is....."When will we go back??"

I can't give you a date.  I will say, by faith, we will go back to South Sudan....sooner than later!

We WILL, with the help of our Lord Jesus, bring clean water to the thirsty and dying!  This is what HE told us to do!  Matthew 25:35-46

The situation there is...spinning out of control.

I could say a lot here, but will only share one story from yesterday telling of the insane brutality and cruelty that so many innocent ones are facing....

It was so good to see my precious Cindy.  And yes, I'm so glad to be home.  I took a nice, long shower and my bed has never been more comfortable.  We have so much for which to be THANKFUL!

Will spend a bit of time "Re-fueling" and just "resting" and letting the 7 hour time difference (jet lag) slowly work out of my system.

Can't THANK YOU enough for joining together with us on this journey.  Your prayer, love and support are vital to this mission!!

MEET...CHILL....FLY ALL NIGHT

(NOTE:  If this blog sounds a little more dis-jointed and rambling than usual, it is.  I'm exhausted mentally and emotionally.  Bear with me...thanks!)

After a good nights sleep yesterday in Entebbe, Uganda, had a great meeting with Henry, a friend and Florida Business Man,
We've been talking about possibly manufacturing the Air Mobile Rescuer in Uganda for some time.

Well, we met in Entebbe and more foundation is being laid to get the Rescuer closer and closer to ground zero of the Cholera outbreak in South Sudan.

Then....had the rest of the day to nap, read (the Word) and just chill out.  For tonight.....would be very long and we'd travel very far.

Aaron and I boarded a flight in Entebbe for Brussels, nearly 8 hours in the air.  It was good to be on-board and really heading home!

Actually managed to get some sleep.  Upon landing in Brussels, we walked through the beautiful terminal.  I kept looking at the "sparkling floor".  Here's a little glimpse.

Now, I only took that little clip to contrast where we just were in Juba.  Here is a quick clip of the inside of the Juba "Terminal".  Oh Folks, South Sudan truly needs our prayers and love!!

Stepping off the plane in Brussels, was truly like stepping onto a different planet.  My heart breaks for those that suffering so and facing death in South Sudan.  We must do more!!

Well, on the ground here in Brussels for just a few hours. Dr.  Aaron will be visiting family in Poland, so I'll be on the next leg of our journey, another 8 hours in the air alone.  It's been great having Aaron with me.  He's a true trooper!!

Time to go find a cup of coffee and try to let my body adjust out of Africa time onto East Coast time.

What an awesome mission we've just been on.  As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!
