"MORE BLESSED....."

Didn't expect the harvest to be so bountiful and full.  Little did we know when we began this "Victory Garden" in mid February that it would be quite so robust!

But, now it's just a BLESSING to be able to share some of this bounty with our neighbors.  

Love my "Delivery Vehicle"... a 1975 Honda 90CT!

Just take a look at the size of the Zucchini!  Everything is growing so wonderfully!

Yes, it is.... MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE!

At the same time, as I read the "Headlines" coming from around the world and see the chaos and anger, my heart breaks for so many that are suffering in pain and darkness.

In the midst of all of this chaos, is our Lord reaching out to us with His love.  May we choose to accept Him and live our lives for Him.  It's a better life!!

We're enjoying have Barbara with us.  We're catching up on our Yahtzee.

And, tomorrow, Cindy will have a few days off and will heading back to the cabin for some much needed rest. She's working very hard in the Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky.  So proud of my Cindy!!

Time to head into town.  Have to buy a 20' ladder to repair an electric line to our barn.  It's always something!

A GOOD REPORT & A DEAR FRIEND  ARRIVES & CINDY ON THE "FRONT LINE"

After meeting with my Doctor yesterday, am pleased to say that I have gone from..."you have cancer and need to do something about it", to..."your cancer has decreased to the point of.... let's just keep an eye on it".  

That's fine with me and...TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!

MAY HIS HEALING IN ME continue on!!

While driving to the Knoxville Airport, I noted a bunch of United Airlines aircraft just sitting and waiting to be put back into service.  Another Sign of the Times.

And our dear Sister in Christ and friend, Barbara Walker "rolled" in to spend a few days with us here at the cabin.  

We love Barb and are THANKFUL for her courageous heart to save children, including Juliet and Ari!!

Meanwhile, my dear Cindy is on the "Front Line" of COVID-19 where she is serving as a Travel Nurse in Hazard, KY.  

She's on a 13 week assignment and we're counting the days to get her home.  We're so proud of her!! 

So, we're busy at the cabin harvesting crops and keeping our neighbors in good greens and fresh vegetables as well as canning.  

During all this chaos and turmoil in America, we're PRAYING & PREPARING!!!

UPDATE EXAM &....A SURPRISE VISITOR

Up early this morning and heading to Knoxville to see my Urologist for a follow-up exam.

We've been VERY encouraged by the results of the last MRI showing a dramatic decrease in the cancer.  PRAISE GOD!! 

Today, we'll be discussing the "surveillance" strategy and keeping a VERY close eye on any further cancer development.  

WE STAND IN PRAYER FOR COMPLETE HEALING!!

And, immediately following my Doctors Visit, I'll be going to the Knoxville International Airport to pick up....our Surprise Guest, the famous (in our book) Barbara Walker.

Barbara, as you may know, has RESCUED over 3000 children around the world, including our 2 daughters, Juliet and Ariana.  

We call this intrepid, brave "Lady of God"....Rambo in the Blue Dress.  She is fearless and determined in her mission to save children....and she always wears a 'BLUE' DRESS'.

BTW, have been eating right out of the garden.  The fresh greens and vegetables certainly strengthen one's body to fight off disease.  Love the "Juice"!!

SKATING ON THE EDGE....

Yesterday, while mowing along the road to the cabin...I got too close to the edge and slid over...almost rolling the little lawn tractor.

Yes, as it was sliding, I was calling on Jesus for help.  He was there.  And so was the old Massey Ferguson to pull it out.

In many ways, I feel like America is "skating on the edge"!  Another Police shooting in Atlanta! We are a "tinder box" ready to EXPLODE.  What can we do??

Again, I urge us all to CALL UPON JESUS & PRAY FOR PEACE!

In many ways, I feel as if America and the world is in a huge STORM!  

I recall how our Lord JESUS CALMED THE STORM.

In HIS PEACE, we can bring about CHANGE & JUSTICE.  In anger and violence, we tear down our great country.

Again, LET US PRAY FOR PEACE!!!

REMEMBER, JESUS KNOWS & UNDERSTANDS THE STORM AND IS THE ANSWER!

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning, as we prepare for Church, may the PEACE OF GOD, WHICH PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING KEEP OUR HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS!!!

SUCH A SIMPLE THING....

Yesterday, I was working on one of my old lawn tractors.  

Was having a hard time getting a replacement bolt into place.  I tried again and again.  Just wouldn't go.

Then, I simply breathed quietly..."help me Jesus".  

Immediately, the bolt went into place!  

I just sat there and asked Jesus if He enjoyed working on things with me.  

I didn't hear an audible voice, but had the strong impression that He said to me..."I love it when you call on Me to help....even fixing an old lawn tractor".

How many times do we struggle with "stuff" and get frustrated and angry and even say a few choice words.  

I'm ever reminded of one of my all-time favorite Scriptures found in Matthew 7:7 (easy to remember the "address")  ASK - SEEK - KNOCK!

When Jesus gave us that wonderful promise, He didn't limit it.  He just simply gave us this wonderful GIFT!

As you go through this day, you will be challenged about something.  It may be little, it may be large.  

May I urge you to.....CALL UPON HIS NAME and ASK HIM to HELP!  HE WILL!!

PLEASE....FORGIVE ME!

I know that I've gone on and on and on about our VICTORY GARDEN but...bear with me.  

In this old world, we've seen how RAPIDLY things can change.  We've seen world economies literally collapse from a virus in a matter of weeks.  

We've seen how the terrible actions of 4 policemen can ignite a fire that is growing, and in some cases out of control.

So, what can we do in light of these catastrophic and terrible events shaking our world?

I often speak about the POWER OF PRAYER and this is a very good thing to do. 

But, we can also strengthen our hand by doing simple things like putting seeds in the soil and growing our own food.

I further encourage you to go to the WORD OF GOD and see what our Lord says about these things.  "LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED...." (John 14:1)

And, our Lord Jesus goes on to tell us..."IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE.  BUT TAKE HEART!  I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD"!

I can't tell you what a JOY it was to share some of our Harvest from our VICTORY GARDEN with my neighbor, Rich.

I believe that the LOVE OF GOD flowing through us to others will help heal this broken world.

I encourage you to be good cheer during these difficult times and lean on JESUS as never before.

Oh well, time to head to the garden to do a little harvesting and juicing.  MMMM....love those fresh vegetables & greens.

RICH "GREENS"....SHARING

I invited my neighbor, Rich over to pick some greens.  Our "cup runneth over".  

Rich showed up and brought home a rich harvest of lettuce, collards & Swiss Chard.  PRAISE GOD!!

What a BLESSING to share some of God's Bounty!!

Rich is a gifted "Craftsman" that can take old scrap lumber and metal and turn them into treasures.

He and Kathy love the Lord and we're blessed to have them as our neighbors!!

BTW, the Victory Garden just keeps putting out more and more delicious vegetables and greens.  Seems like the more we pick, the more they grow.

I captured these clouds moving through our valley this morning.  It is lovely to live among the clouds.

Meanwhile, though the "Media" depicts chaos and mayhem throughout America and beyond, here in the rural country, farmers never left their fields or their cattle.  

Life has just gone on as it was, with the exception of a bit more "Social Separation" and donning masks (or bandanas).

As I sit here in this peaceful place and ask our Lord Jesus what is the best thing for me to do, I'm urged to simply PRAY and....do the things I need to do to provide for my family.

I know that Jesus is the Answer!  The love of God will heal wounds and broken hearts.

So, on this day that our Lord has made, may His will be done on earth, as it is in heaven!!

SITTING QUIETLY....

One of my favorite spots here at the "Retreat Cabin" is sitting on a cooler in the Victory Garden and simply listening.  

No need to rush this.  Just take the time to take it in and savor the moment.  It is so full of life with the birds singing, the cattle "lowing" and all those wonderful vegetables growing!  I love it!!  

It's times like these that brings me closer to my Savior.

As I ponder what is going on in America and all around the world, I realize that the best thing to do is PRAY for those who are suffering and PRAY for our Leaders.

PRAYER is often overlooked in the midst of the battle, but it is truly our most powerful weapon and yes.....

 

PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!!

So, on this overcast cool morning, it's time to get to work.  In addition to PRAYER, I'll be "canning" some food for the days ahead.

PONDERING....AT THE "CABIN"

Sitting here, with a delicious cup of coffee, I'm overwhelmed by the PEACE here at the cabin.

Oh, there are always PLENTY of chores to be done, but in between them, I simply sit, take in the view of the valley, breathe the clean air & rest.

Yes, sometimes, I feel a bit guilty at having such beauty, peace and tranquility but....I'll get over it and simply enjoy the moment.

Meanwhile, I know just outside of this quiet, peaceful place, there are literally millions who are extremely unhappy and angry.  

I'll tell you this, HUMAN NATURE is at play.  Whether the year is 2020 or 1865 or AD 70 or 900 BC, fallen man is still fallen man.

This is one of the reasons, I often read PROVERBS.  King Solomon (according to some Scholars) wrote Proverbs around 3000 years ago!  

And, under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit SOLOMON 'NAILED HUMAN NATURE'.

Anger is still anger, violence is still violence, lust is still lust, etc. etc.  

We may move faster and have more information at our fingertips, but....we're still human with all of our flaws and faults.

I don't know where you are politically (usually a "sticky wicket"), but I find myself simply PRAYING for whoever is in charge and asking our Lord Jesus to lead and guide them.

Cindy and I have spent a lot of time in third world countries, especially in Haiti.  There is staggering poverty and such great need there.  This is true of many nations around the world. 

We see Human Nature playing out a lot and as Solomon wrote..."there is no new thing under the sun".  I believe Solomon was referring to fallen man.

Here's the bottom line....WE NEED A SAVIOR, WE NEED JESUS.

The Apostle John, under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit penned this...."FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE"

SEEKING WISDOM

Up early this morning.  Already missing my Cindy who headed up to Hazard, Kentucky to begin her "Travel Nurse" assignment yesterday. 

Cindy has a heart to serve others, especially those who are in pain.   I'm so proud of her!

PLEASE join me in prayer for Cindy's protection and that she will be mightily used by our Lord to bring healing to the sick and suffering.

As I sipped my coffee this morning, I went to Proverbs 8 and found WISDOM crying out.

As you who ramble down this "road of life" with me know, I often match the day of the month to the Proverb for the day.  

Here's a link to this wonderful WISE PROVERB -  PROVERBS 8 "THE EXCELLENCE OF WISDOM" 

So many in our country are demanding CHANGE.  I would add WISDOM to that cry.

For example, just disbanding or de-funding the Police is not a very wise move, as many police do a fine job and truly protect us from evil.

Remember....no system or person is perfect.  We have ALL SINNED and come short of the Glory of God.  That is why we need a SAVIOR & GRACE & WISDOM!

Can we improve our Systems?  Of course and we should.  My PRAYER is that those who are marching and protesting will find WISDOM & GRACE!!

I urge you to PRAY for America and especially for our leaders as they navigate these challenging & difficult waters.

So, today, it's time for me to head out to the field to do a little harvesting and preparing for what might lie ahead.

SUNDAY MORNING.....IN AMERICA

It appears that America is slowly, but surely "Opening Up".  We see evidence of that in our Churches which are beginning to conduct "Live Services".  Social distancing is being utilized and many wear masks.  This is GOOD!

And....many are returning to work.  This is evidenced by the encouraging Jobs Report, which has some question about the method of counting, but overall, the movement is POSITIVE!

The Tragic Death of George Floyd has touched us all and is bringing about serious CHANGE!  We pray for the PEACE OF GOD to rule and reign.

We PRAY for God to take this terrible situation and...make "ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD!!

Now that we've "mostly" moved up here to Tennessee, Cindy has accepted a "Travel Nurse" assignment (13 weeks) in Hazard, Kentucky.

Cindy is an extremely gifted Psychiatric Nurse and will be mightily used by our Lord to share His Great Love with those who are suffering.

We're tracking Tropical Storm Christobal which is headed for landfall in Louisiana.

STACKING...STOCKING & STORING

You, who follow us on this "Rambling Blog" know, we've been "PREPARING" (AKA:  PREPPING) for hard times for some time now.

Cindy, Ari and I have been sorting, stocking stacking & packing supplies for what might lie ahead.

Our "VICTORY GARDEN", which began with some tiny seeds placed into good soil and a long "transport" from Florida to Tennessee, is THRIVING!

The last few months have shown us all HOW QUICKLY THINGS CAN CHANGE!  Who would have thought a "tiny, invisible" virus could disrupt the entire globe, but it has.

And the deplorable and tragic actions of 4 policemen could enrage an entire nation.  

And, we have Tropical Storm Christobal headed to New Orleans, a city built below sea level.

Christobal is gaining strength and packing a LOT OF RAIN!!

ARRIVE "RETREAT CABIN"....AHHH!

The journey from Florida to Tennessee (750 miles) went smoothly in the Ford "Escape"!  No delays or riots.  PRAISE GOD!!

So glad to be with my Cindy and Ari and....Andy, Honey & Benjie (our little dogs).

When the sun rose, we headed straight to the Victorty Garden.  Our plan to start this amazing garden on our back porch in Florida WORKED!  

It was all Cindy's idea, my Proverbs 31 Lady of God!!

So, today, we're unloading and settling into the Retreat Cabin.  Can't begin to tell you how much we love it up here!!

We'll be eating plenty of greens & potatoes & corn & beets & squash .....the list goes on. We'll certainly not go hungry up here!!

Time to get to work.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

PS - We're keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Christobal which is slowly churning across the Gulf of Mexico and gaining strength.

We know how "unpredicatable" these storms can be and how rapidly they can gain strength!  

Air Mobile is preparing Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers to provide CLEAN WATER if the need arises.  Good to be PREPARED!!

PRAY FOR AMERICA!!!

America is shaking from...PANDEMICS /RIOTS / STORMS / EARTHQUAKES.  Our most powerful tool in the midst of all of this turmoil is PRAYER!!

This is the time to seek the face of Jesus and ask Him for peace and guidance in our lives.

As I type, there is Tropical Storm Christobal in the Gulf of Mexico heading our way.  Expect a lot of rain.  

We know how quickly these storms can grow.  NOW is the time to PREPARE!  

Last night there was a powerful earthquake that shook Ridgecrest, CA.  You may recall the 7.1 quake that shook the same region last summer.

RIOTS along with PEACEFUL PROTESTS, are sweeping across America.  

COVID-19 is still infecting and killing tens of thousands.

We, along with the Leaders of America are facing all of these battles and this is the time to seek WISDOM & GRACE & PEACE from our Lord Jesus.

Folks, in all my years on this earth, have never seen America so shaken.  Again, the best thing for us to do is PRAY & SEEK HIS FACE!

I am reminded of the Words of our Lord Jesus in John 16:33...

JESUS IS LORD!!!

Up early this morning, packing our Ford Escape to head up to Tennessee to join Cindy and Ari at the "Retreat Cabin".

RIOTS IN AMERICA / TROPICAL STORM CHRISTOBAL COMING & A FLOURISHING VICTORY GARDEN

We continue to PRAY for the PEACE OF GOD WHICH PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING to take hold in AMERICA!!

Remember, our PRAYERS are POWERFUL & PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!!

According to various news sources (taken with a grain of salt), the PROTESTS are becoming more PEACEFUL.  

Again, we PRAY!!

Been tracking Tropical Storm Christobal which is brewing and growing in the Gulf of Mexico.

This is an excellent time to PREPARE and get ready.  We have seen how rapidly these storms can grow and become deadly.

Here's more - TROPICAL STORM CHRISTOBAL - A U.S. GULF COAST THREAT!

We know how important CLEAN WATER is to have on-hand when disaster strikes!

We're getting Air Mobile Rescuers ready for action!!

And....we're still extremely vulnerable regarding COVID-19!!  This does complicate normal Hurricane Evacuations and going to Hurricane Shelters.  This is all the more reason to PREPARE WISELY & EARLY!!!

Meanwhile, Cindy and Ari headed up to the Tennessee Retreat Cabin on Monday.

Upon arrival, she found our VICTORY GARDEN in full growth and beauty.  

Take a look at these Collard Greens compared to Cindy's hand. 

Remember, this garden began our back porch in Florida.  Amazing!!  

Put seeds into good soil and delicious, healthful food springs forth.  

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

Take a look at this super radish!

Every thing is growing so beautifully and our "Critter Chasers" (motion activated sprinklers) are keeping the deer and other critters out of the garden.

Again, we encourage you to plant a VICTORY GARDEN if you can. Doesn't take much to put that little seed into good soil and you can grow your own food!!

With all of the crisis & turmoil & sudden and brutal change we are experiencing here in America, the VICTORY GARDENS are looking better and better.

Meanwhile, I'm here in Florida waiting for the Weather to clear out to do a bit more flying but....that may not happen.

So, we'll see what the day brings.  Above all, we're PRAYING FOR THE PEACE OF GOD TO GRIP AMERICA!!!

AMERICAN PROTESTS BEING CORRUPTED BY RIOTERS!!!

We in America have the privilege and freedom to PROTEST PEACEFULLY.... BUT NOT.....  RIOT / LOOTING /BURN/ KILL / DESTROY!!

I am reminded of the Word of God...

"THE THIEF COMES TO STEAL / KILL & DESTROY, BUT I (JESUS) HAVE COME THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE LIFE (PEACE) & LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY"!! (John 10:10)

There is no question that the life of George Floyd was taken from him by a heinous act of murder.  May JUSTICE be done!  

But....what is being done on the streets of American Cities is NOT the answer.  May I urge you to join together with us in PRAYER for Jesus to intervene in this terrible attack on our nation.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS!!  Somehow, we, as Americans, must come together in PEACE!  WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!

Folks, as we witness these tragic actions taking place in America, we are NOT powerless! 

The POWER OF PRAYER IS AWESOME!  

NOW IS THE TIME TO PRAY!!!  Our prayers make a DIFFERENCE!!!

AIR MOBILE FLIES BACK TO THE AMERICA....AMERICA UNDER ATTACK!!

Early yesterday morning, Scot Law and I headed to the Port-au-Prince Airport to return home.

BTW, it was GREAT having Scot with me on this "Mission".  He's a real "Trooper for Jesus"!!

Our "Mission" was accomplished... for now.  We were able to refurbish 11 Air Mobile Rescuers and KEEP CLEAN WATER FLOWING TO MANY!  PRAISE GOD!

I'm reminded of the Words of our Lord Jesus....

"I was thirsty and you gave Me to drink"...

"When you've done it unto the least of these...you've done it unto Me".

We had a "little glitch" at the airport but...it all worked out extremely well.  I'll tell you more about it later.

I topped off all 14 fuel tanks for the long ride home.

Oh, I must say how good it is to have the Little Donkey back in the air on the "mission"!!!

Scot Law and I loaded the Little Donkey, fired up the engines and headed back to America.  We had a perfect flight.  Glad to be home but....

We're seeing the terrible headlines and the tragic RIOTS that are gripping America.  
RIOTS ARE NOT THE ANSWER!!  

The tragic death of George Floyd has certainly brought America to a tipping point.

May we ALL JOIN IN PRAYER for our LEADERS and that our Lord will bring PEACE to this terrible situation.
