THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES - FEBRUARY - MARCH 2023

4-6-23 Thursday  7:34 AM (Turkey Time) - Istanbul, Turkey - Report submitted by Air Mobile Joe

FINDING THE KEY...

Looks like our 10 Rescuers may be set free today.

PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!

Sam and I arrived at the Istanbul Airport yesterday on a "Mission" to "Retrieve" the 10 Rescuers.

We were seeking the KEY to OPEN THE DOOR!

We went from office to office seeking the best way to get the "Release" of the Rescuers.

Then, a government official gave us a phone number to call.  The voice on the other end was courteous and quite encouraging.

We were then told to await another call.  I must admit that both Sam and my anxiety levels were rising.

There was nothing to do, but return to our hotel and wait.

My mind was racing and then, the PEACE OF GOD (which passes all understanding) took over.

Then, the phone rang!  It was a high level Government Official out of Ankara.

He was fully aware of all of the surrounding details of our "detained" Rescuers.

He gave us full assurance we would be able to retrieve the Rescuers soon (likely today) and would be able to deploy them in the most critical areas of need!

That is exactly what we are waiting, and believing and PRAYING for.

So, again, the PEACE OF GOD has surrounded us and we await the next phone call.

Time for the second cup of coffee.

THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!

RESCUERS "DETAINED"....

On our first "Mission to Turkey" several weeks ago, the 14 Rescuers that we brought in, just "flew" through Customs with no special "paperwork".

Because of the severity and devastation of the February 6th Earthquake, the Government of Turkey allowed "Relief Supplies" immediate "Clearance".

So, when we landed in Istanbul and retrieved our 10 Rescuers (in 6 tubs), I "assumed" that we would have rapid clearance.

BTW, the little Blue Scooter is an AMAZING GIFT and gives me and my "bum" knees, a new appreciation for little wheels.

Now, all regular protocols are back in place in Turkey.

The  Turkish Customs Officials were courteous and professional.

However, our 10 Rescuers are being DETAINED and held until we can produce the proper paperwork.

BTW, 99+% of the time, no special paperwork is required because of the Humanitarian nature of the Rescuers.

So, today we have begun generating the paperwork required by the Government of Turkey.

PLEASE PRAY that our Lord gives us FAVOR & WISDOM to gain the RELEASE of the RESCUERS!

THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

BUMPY FLIGHT &...SNAGGED AT CUSTOMS

Since our Little Donkey needs some avionics work, Turkey moved up to our "Next Mission".

We needed to add some more supplies including my little blue scooter.

My Cindy drove the supplies from TN to FL to complete our load.  THANK YOU CINDY!

Sam and I loaded up the 10 Rescuers and other critical supplies and drove down to Miami International airport.

Turkish Airlines waived some of the extra baggage & over-weight fees.  Love seeing those gray tubs (each containing 2 Rescuers).

Our 12 hour flight from Miami to Istanbul had quite a lot of turbulence, but still managed to sleep a bit.

Upon landing in Istanbul...we got snagged by Turkish Customs.  The officers were courteous, but now required some more paperwork.

On our first "Mission to Turkey", several weeks ago, no documentation was required.

So...we'll likely spend another day in Istanbul and work those units out of Customs.

PLEASE PRAY that we find favor with the officials so that we can get on with this mission.

You know, deep down in my heart, I believe that our Lord is using this situation for His Glory!!

THANK YOU, as always, for your prayer, love and support!!

LAUNCH DAY....

Yesterday evening, Sam (from India) landed and joined our "Mission to Turkey".

Sam was on our first mission to Turkey and was a tremendous help.  I'm glad he's with me on this one.

Several hours later, Cindy & Andy (our little dog) arrived in FL, after the 12 hour drive from TN.

Cindy brought additional supplies to be brought to Turkey.

Today, we'll be preparing the Air Mobile Rescuers as checked luggage.

We'll depart Miami this evening for our non-stop flight to Istanbul, Turkey.

If all goes as planned, we'll then drive to ground zero of the terrible earthquake zone and bring much needed CLEAN WATER to those who are still cut off.

As I prepare to depart on this "Mission to Turkey", my heart breaks for America...a "House divided against itself....".

Please join me in PRAYER for AMERICA!!

And as always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PALM SUNDAY &...GETTING READY TO FLY

While here in Titusville, on this beautiful Palm Sunday morning, I'll be attending our "Florida" Church, Redeemer.

We love Pastor Gary and especially love this sweet Church.

Meanwhile, my Cindy is on the road driving from the "Retreat Cabin" to FL.  She is carrying vital supplies for our upcoming "Mission" to Turkey.

Please PRAY for Cindy as she makes this 12 hour drive.  She's scheduled to arrive later this evening.

Sam will be boarding a flight from Chicago to Orlando this afternoon to join me on this "Mission".

Yesterday, I had a wonderful time visiting with our Daughter, Cherie.

One of the reasons I love to stage many of our international missions out of Florida is I can be with our children and grandchildren, who live in East Central Florida.

We are very excited to return to Turkey and follow up on the Air Mobile Rescuers that we recently deployed there.

We have 10 more Air Mobile Rescuers to deploy in Turkey, THANKS to the generosity of our many friends.

Meanwhile, our PRAYERS are with those who have been devastated by the killer tornados that have ravaged Arkansas and last week, Mississippi.

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

NEXT MISSION:  TURKEY

Yesterday evening, the decision was made where our next Mission would be...TURKEY.

The Test Flight in the Little Donkey indicated a GPS failure, thus the decision to return to Turkey on Turkish Air.

I'll be bringing Sam, from India with me on this Mission.

Sam was on our first mission to Turkey and was an incredible help!

Tickets are bought and we're packing.  We'll depart on Monday afternoon for Istanbul, Turkey.

Cindy will be driving down from the "Retreat Cabin" to Florida tomorrow, bringing more supplies for the Turkey Mission.

Our Lord opened some incredible doors for us in Turkey and we're very excited to return with more CLEAN WATER!!

So today we'll be pulling the many pieces together for this "Mission".

As I say every single day and mean from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your amazing prayer, love and support!!!

QUICK FLIGHT...NEW TRICK

On Wednesday, during our "Test Flight" on the Little Donkey, we discovered our primary GPS system was not functioning properly.

Upon landing, I immediately called Troy Webb with Orlando Aircraft Services (OAS).

Troy graciously squeezed me in and yesterday I flew to Orlando using my secondary GPS.

Troy immediately diagnosed the problem and we agreed to send the unit back to Garmin.

It was then that Troy showed me a "trick" to get that GPS working by utilizing a neat "work around".

So, I fired up the engines, programmed the faulty GPS utilizing the new "trick" that Troy had taught me and voila, the primary GPS worked beautifully....but still needs to be repaired.

I flew back to our home base.  The system worked beautifully.  Upon landing, I removed the GPS system and today, will drive it back to Orlando for Troy to send it back to Garmin.

We'll continue to get our Little Donkey back up to speed for whatever mission comes our way, where we need that sweet bird.

All I can about Troy is...he's AMAZING and has taught me so much about Garmin Systems.  THANK YOU TROY!!

And OAS has supported Air Mobile and kept our avionics working for nearly 40 years!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

SPEAK TO THE O.W.L.S. - TEST-FLY THE DONKEY & PRESENT RESCUER TO STUDENTS & WASH AN AIRPLANE...ALL IN A DAY

What a day!!  Began with meeting with beloved and dear friends, the O.W.L.S.  Our long time & very dear friends, Dennis & Barbara West arranged the meeting

Always a joy to be with them.  Our Lord  was there with us.

The  message was:  "My Grace is sufficient for thee".

From there, it was back to the airport to test fly the Little Donkey.

On our Test Flight, we found that the Primary GPS system, cooling fan was inop.

All other systems functioned well.  We landed and I immediately scheduled to fly to Orlando today to have my good friend, Troy Webb of Orlando Aircraft Services (OAS) check it out.

BTW, OAS has taken care of all of Air Mobile's Avionics needs for over 40 years!!  THANK YOU OAS!!

Next on this busy day, 4 students from Freedom 7 Middle School showed up at the airport with their parents for a full presentation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.

They are working on a Science Project of how to bring CLEAN WATER to a THIRSTY WORLD!  Right up our alley!!

After the Rescuer Presentation, they washed the Little Donkey.

These students were very sharp and had many great questions about how to bring CLEAN WATER to the THIRSTY.

What a pleasure to be with these students!

At the end of this long, but fruitful day...I collapsed and slept-in this morning.

Thus, the rambling blog is a little late this morning.

Later today, I'll fly the Little Donkey to address the GPS problem.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

MEETING WITH the "O.W.L.S." & TEST FLY A LITTLE DONKEY

This morning, I'll be speaking to group of Believers known as the O.W.L.S. (Older - Wiser - Loving - Saints)

Love speaking to this group (for over 15 years)! These guys know how to PRAY and get things done.

Then, it's time to take the Little Donkey up for a series of test flights following scheduled maintenance.

Always good to have that sweet little bird 'READY TO GO'!

Then, this afternoon I'll be demonstrating the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier to a group of students from a local Middle School.

And if the Little Donkey passes it's flight tests, this group of students plan to wash it.

I love sharing the wonder of making CLEAN WATER out of DIRTY WATER to students...our next generation of Scientists & Relief workers.

Time to go speak to the O.W.L.S.

THANK YOU, as always, for your vital prayer, love and support!!

ALONG THE WAY...

Yesterday, I "Hit the Road Again".

My first stop was meeting Nancy, the Church Secretary for Lone Mountain Baptist Church of New Tazewell, TN.

This great church funded another Air Mobile Rescuer for Turkey.  Here's a clip of thanking Lone Mountain.

Then, I drove to meet Stewart Evers at  Buc-ees near Nashville.

I was able to share with Stewart the simple operation of the Rescuer.

Stewart will be helping Air Mobile get more Rescuers into Ukraine.

This meeting makes Stewart an official "Air Mobile Water Mule.

I presented a copy of "Run to the Roar" (required reading for "Water Mules") along with an Air Mobile Cap.

WELCOME ABOARD STEWART!!

I then drove a couple of hundred miles and found a comfortable bed in Ackworth, GA.

Next stop, Space Coast Regional Airport to test fly a "Little Donkey".

Time to hit the road for about 500 miles.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

MEETING AT BUC-EES....

Have you ever been to Buc-ees?  It's the "Mother of all Interstate Conenience /Stores".

Today, I'll be meeting with Stewart Evers at Buc-ees in Crossville, TN.

I'll be demonstrating the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.   We'll be discussing getting 10 more Rescuers into Ukraine.

Stewart is a long-time resident of Nashville and has a great interest in the Rescuer.

From that meeting, I'll be driving to Titusville.

Our Air Mobile Mechanic, Paul, says it's time to take the Little Donkey up for an extensive series of Test Flights following the recent inspections.

Oh, Folks, I've really missed flying that sweet little bird!!

While in Titusville, I'll be speaking to a wonderful group called the "OWLS" (Older - Wiser - Loving - Saints).

I've known this group for years.  It's always a JOY to be with these precious Believers!!

Well, it's time to hit the road for Buc-ees and that meeting with Stewart.  May God's will be done!!

As I say every single day, and truly mean with all of my heart....THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

MORE WICKED BAD WEATHER....

After the terrible line of tornadoes that devastated parts of Mississippi Alabama & Georgia yesterday, the South is still in the BULLSEYE for more violent storms today.

We PRAY for all who are in the path for more terrible storms today!

Here's more - NEW TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE FOR THE SOUTH TODAY

If you live anywhere near the cone and path of the bad weather today...LISTEN CAREFULLY TO THE WARNINGS & SEEK SHELTER IF NECESSARY!!

Meanwhile, we're building more Air Mobile Rescuers and planning our next mission(s).

This morning, we're getting ready for Church and mindful of those who have been shattered by these terrible tornadoes.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

WHAT'S NEXT?

Sitting here, in my beloved "Retreat Cabin", I ponder what lies ahead?

We're building Air Mobile Rescuers to be deployed in Turkey following the terrible earthquakes that killed over 50,000 people.

We're also looking to return to Ukraine with more Rescuers.

The question is "when?".  So, the next few days will be planning and putting the long line of logistics into place before we deploy.

I must admit, I do enjoy our sweet "Little Retreat Cabin".  I do have a lot paper work to do and am still catching up.

The rest is doing me a "world of good" and I'm just feeling better.    The little "Get-Away" to Washington was just great!!

So THANKFUL for these days at home.  I'll be "On the Road Again" before you know it.

Our Lord is SO GOOD!!

I'm ever THANKFUL for His AMAZING GRACE that keeps me going!!

As I say every single day THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A VERY PLEASANT "GET-AWAY"

Our visit to Washington DC could not have gone any better.

The weather was just magnificent, the City was calm, the Cherry Blossoms were "exploding" before our very eyes and the Museums were just spectacular.

It was Ari and her friend, Kiaira's first visit to DC and was certainly memorable for them.

So glad that Cindy and I could provide these big & wonderful memories for them.

Well, we hit the road for the "Cabin" and arrived 8 hours later, just before midnight.

Again, what a wonderful little get-away so chocked with lovely memories.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart...THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CHERRY BLOSSOM CANOPY....

As Cindy, Ari and Kiaira approached the Jefferson Monument, they walked under a full canopy of blooming cherry blossoms.

They were on their way to the Jefferson Monument.

Our timing for all of this was just perfect.

The temp was a balmy 70 degrees and the Cherry Blossoms just continued their beautiful blooming.

While they were checking out the Cherry Blossoms, I was in the National Air & Space Museum.  Still, one of my favorite spots in all of DC.

Well, it's time for us pack up and head back to our sweet "Retreat Cabin".

On our way out of town, we'll stop and take in one more museum.

What a pleasant get away.

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

LOVELY DC....

The Cherry Blossoms are just beginning to come out.

We could not have a more beautiful day to tour DC.  The temperature was a perfect 65 degrees.

Ari, along with her friend Kiaira, enjoyed the beauty and history of our great Country.

Cindy and Abraham.

We found this quote that fits our Ariana quite well.... Indeed, Ari is "A Writer".

My little Blue Scooter served me quite well, but I did have stop a couple of times and charge the battery.

I've ordered another battery...to make it like a twin engine airplane with redundancy.

So, this morning, we're heading back to Museum Row.  I'll go to the "Air & Space Museum".

Cindy and the Girls will go to "Natural History".  Going to be a nice day.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PLEASANT DRIVE...& ALONG THE WAY...

We arrived yesterday evening, 8 hours later, in Riverdale Park, Maryland, a suburb of DC.  Our Airbnb is as cute and quaint as can be.

Along the ride to DC, came across an old F-18 heading most likely going to a museum or...who knows? The F-18 is a great Warbird!!

We're up early and getting ready to hit "Museum Row" in Downtown DC.  Can hardly wait to try out my little blue scooter.

Here's a short video clip of the ingenious blue scooter, in case you missed it.

This little scooter will make those long walks between museums so much more pleasant.  My old knees will sure appreciate the scooter ride.

Well, it's time to head out and simply ENJOY DC!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PS - While being so close to the very heart of America (The Capital, the White House, Congress, etc. etc.....somehow, it's easier to PRAY for AMERICA!!

May God's Will be done in the hearts and minds of our leaders.

HEADING TO WASHINGTON....DC

Cindy, Ari, her friend Kiaira, and I are on our way to DC this morning.

Looking forward to a few days away and enjoying our little historical "get- away".

Cindy found a lovely Airbnb near the capital.

It'll be an 8+ hour drive, mainly on beautiful I-81 paralleling the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains.

Going to DC, during this turbulent political time certainly reminds us to PRAY for AMERICA!!

Time to hit the road.

We so appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

SUNDAY....

Just enjoying a peaceful Sunday and getting ready for church.

It's moments like this that are so precious.

As I've said before, it is such a blessing to be able to go to Church and worship God freely.  This is a wonderful freedom and not one to take for granted.

Cindy, Ari and I will be packing up and heading to Washington DC tomorrow for a Spring Break mini get-away.

The weather is forecast to be....lovely.

Ari has never been to DC, so it'll be fun showing her the Museums and enjoying the rich history there.

I'm so pleased to have the little blue scooter to help me get around.  I'll be able to "test it out" before taking it over seas for our "Next Mission(s)".

Here's the little video clip from yesterday of this remarkable means of getting around.  What an ingenious device.

THANK YOU again for your truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

A VERY, VERY COOL SCOOTER!

My Cindy found this amazing scooter on-line.  I found one in-stock locally and rushed to get it yesterday.

Talk about make my life a bit easier on those long international flights.....when you have to go from Gate 2 to Gate 73.

This little scooter gives my bum knee a "break" (not literally). What a great invention!!

BTW, Cindy, Ari and I are going to Washington DC on Monday for Ari's Spring Break.  She's never been to DC.

This little blue scooter will help me get from Museum to Museum.

GOD IS GOOD!!

THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!

MEANWHILE...

This morning, we're moving ahead for our "Next Mission".... wherever that might be.

We're building Rescuers as we go.

Looks like the "Banking Crisis" has abated just a bit.  We're keeping a close eye on those developments.

This morning, I'll be getting my 3rd knee injection (Platelet-Rich Plasma "PRP"). We hope and pray it helps.  It does seem to be helping a bit.

This time at home, here in the "Retreat Cabin", is good for recovery and strengthening.

Folks, there are just times that I'm overwhelmed by God's goodness!

Likewise, I'm so appreciative for you, joining together with us, on this journey through life....holding tightly to Jesus' hand.

THANK YOU again for your precious prayer, love and support!!

STOCKING UP.....

In light of failing banks, and we PRAY that our economy weathers this storm, it's not a bad idea to look at our EMERGENCY CHECK LIST.

I thought I'd share this with you.  Here's a pretty good article with some good advice.

IS MY MONEY SAFE? WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BANK FAILURES

So, here's an "Easy Peasey" Checklist.  Take a look and take a quick inventory.

In the mean time, Cindy and I are checking our own inventory and making it stronger.

Now is the acceptable time.

On this chilly day, we're going about....getting ready for what might lie ahead.

As I say every single day and truly mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

AT HOME & ABROAD....

Air Mobile ministers to our 'neighbors' here in Hancock County as well as around the world.

Our Lord Jesus tells us to be witnesses beginning in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

Our "Mission" should begin at home and go abroad.

We can show the Love of God by being kind and caring for those in need as Jesus tells us in Matthew 25: 35....

Cindy and I recently came across a precious lady in our little town that was being evicted.  We shall call her 'Martha'.

She has been saving for some time and wants to buy a little piece of property and find a little camper that she can call her own.

Well, Cindy is looking for that little piece of land and I'm looking for a camper for Martha.

You know, as I drive around, I see so many Campers in back yards that are just not used.  Our hope and prayer is that we find one such, that we can put on "Martha's little piece of land.

If you're in East Tennessee and either have a little camper, or know someone who does....give us a ring at:  1-321-544-7757 or shoot me an e-mail at:  airmobilejoe@gmail.com

In the meantime, we're looking and praying that we can help 'Martha' find her property and camper.

IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL....

At the heart of our little "Retreat Cabin" is an old woodstove.

Sure do love the warmth and peace emanating from this wonderful old instrument of comfort & joy....& Survival!

BTW, so does Benjie.

On our little farm, there are enough fallen trees to be turned into firewood to keep us warm and give us a means of cooking for years.

Folks, we don't know what lies ahead, though we do know WHO does, but it's good to be PREPARED for whatever may come our way.

As we look at the terrible flooding in California and the Bank Failures and the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and the horrible War in Ukraine and Haiti...totally out of control, our hearts break.

But, it also tells us to PREPARE & BE PREPARED for the days ahead.

So, on this frosty morning in the mountains of East TN, we go forth in His Name and seek to do His will today.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

COUNTING.....

As I sit here in the "Retreat Cabin", typing this blog and sipping my coffee, we're COUNTING the days until we LAUNCH our Next Mission.

There are so many needs before us (Turkey, Ukraine, Haiti etc. etc.), we're certainly seeking our Lord's direction.

In the meantime, we're building as many "Air Mobile Rescuer" water purifiers as we can.

I must say, the rest is doing me good.  My knees are certainly enjoying the rest and they're getting stronger every day.

Folks, I want you to know just how much I appreciate your prayer, love and support!!

 A PEACEFUL SUNDAY....

Yesterday evening, Cindy and I settled down to several hours of "The Chosen".

I was able to lay down my thoughts about Ukraine, Turkey & Haiti and just enjoy a peaceful evening pondering Jesus and His disciples.

BTW, if you haven't yet seen any of the remarkable episodes of "The Chosen", I strongly recommend you check it out. I believe you'll be blessed.

This morning, we're getting ready for Church. Yes, it is a wonderful thing to be able to freely go to church and worship God.  May we never take this freedom for granted.

Well, on this chilly, rainy day in the Mountains of East TN, we're simply enjoying life and so thankful for this 'Retreat Cabin'.

As always, THANK YOU for our faithful prayer, love and support!!

PLANNING....THE NEXT MISSION(S)

Have been on the phone with our good connections in Ukraine and can't say exactly when, but....Air Mobile WILL return with more "Rescuer" water purifiers.

The BATTLE between Ukraine and Russia is intensifying as the 1 year anniversary of the brutal attack by Russia took place and is continuing as I type.

Likewise, we've also been in close touch with some of our folks working in Turkey.

Yes, Air Mobile will be returning to Turkey with more "Rescuers"...with our Lord's Grace and help.

But....for now, I'm still staying close to our sweet "Retreat Cabin" and gaining my strength and healing every day.

Had my 2nd of 3 injections on my knee and am actually feeling a bit of relief.

I know that I say this every single day, but it certainly bears repeating....THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

FRIDAY.....

This morning, I'll be getting my second of 3 injections into my knee.  This is a new treatment and I'm praying it helps.  It has to do with my platelets.

Meanwhile, this time at the "Retreat Cabin" is good for prayer,  healing and catching up on paperwork with Air Mobile.

I'm so enjoying my time with  Cindy.  She is a true gift from God to me.

I'm so THANKFUL for this precious Lady of God!!

A PEACEFUL DAY....

The memories of where I'd just been in Turkey haunt me, but....I know that sooner than later...we'll be back in the field again.

For now, I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet that our Lord has given us so freely here at the "Retreat Cabin".

BTW, this little kitties name is "Thanksgiving".  She's well named.

So, we have the usual chores around our little farm, but they're a labor of love.

Folks, I can't THANK YOU  enough for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

REST.....

Day by day, my strength is returning and yes, I'm just glad to be home.

I'm reminded of the Words of Jesus...."COME UNTO ME...."

Oh, there plenty of places to go and things to do, but for now, I'm just taking it easy and enjoying our little farm and our "Retreat Cabin".

As I see the news and have a pretty good idea of what is really happening (behind the scenes), my heart breaks for Turkey, Ukraine and Haiti, just to name a few.

There are times to simply RETREAT, and PRAY and allow our Lord to speak into our hearts and give us  HIS REST.

So, for now, I'll simply REST in HIM!

As always, THANK YOU for your truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

BATTERIES CHARGING.....

Oh Folks, can't begin to tell you how good it feels to be home and... charging my batteries!

This last "Mission to Turkey" took a lot out of me.  When I drove up to our little Retreat Cabin last week, was pretty much running on fumes.

I was so glad to be with my Cindy, Ari and all our critters....including our latest acquisition, another (black & white) little kitty named Christmas .

He's a good companion for our other kitty, Thanksgiving (Calico).

Now, at just 7 weeks old, Christmas caught his first mouse.  Yes, we have a little mouse problem here at the Retreat Cabin and our kitties have their work cut out for them.  What a nice solution to mice!!

Oh well, just enjoying life here in the mountains of East TN.  The next mission will be here sooner than later.  We'll be ready when it does.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

TESTIFY ON TURKEY

Yesterday, I had the privilege to share with our home church, Little Mulberry Baptist, our recent "Mission to Turkey".

I'm so THANKFUL for our church and especially for their faithful prayer and support!!

Even though Turkey is not in the news now, the needs are still raging and....Air Mobile is planning to return.  Not sure when, but it will be soon.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

SUNDAY....

Awaking to the quiet peace and snug cabin tucked away in the mountains of East TN is a blessing.

I
'm reminded where, just a few day ago, I stood in Turkey amidst such grief and suffering.

WE PRAY for those who have lost everything and have had their hearts broken.  May we be an instrument in God's Hand to bring His love and help to those who are suffering.

This morning, I'll be sharing our "Mission to Turkey" and THANKING our home church, Little Mulberry Baptist, for their generous gift of funding an Air Mobile Rescuer and above all, for their prayers!

This morning, I'll be sharing some of our experiences of the last few weeks in Turkey.

Our hope and prayer is to return to Turkey with more help and for that, we ask our Lord for His direction.

I want to, especially THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

REFLECTION....

As I sit here in our little "Retreat Cabin" and ponder where I've just been, my heart aches for those who have been so devastated by the terrible earthquakes that struck Turkey.

Here's a quick clip of just a moment in time in the shadow of the Turkey Earthquake destruction -

Yet, there is a quiet and peaceful joy in knowing that, in a small way, with our Lord's Amazing Grace and your prayer and support, we've been able to do something to help.

We were able to deploy 14 Air Mobile Rescuers into strategic locations bringing in CLEAN WATER where desperately needed.

In this clip, the Operation Blessing Team tasted the CLEAN WATER from the dirty river water.

While I was filling up our delivery van with fuel, Sam disappeared.  I found him nearby buying a sizeable load of food.

Sam can't resist the opportunity to FEED THE HUNGRY.

Sam bought enough food for 25 families.  Along the way, we found this small community (about 25 families) and Sam delivered the blessings and showed the Love of Jesus!

We found another little tent community and again, Sam delivered.  The kids love Sam!!

In one isolated location deep in the mountains of Turkey, a hospital had NO WATER since the terrible earthquakes.

We then got creative and....melted the snow and made it pure!

There were a few (sic) close calls along the way.  Here are just 2...of the many....Here's Sam, just after we experienced a 6.4 Earthquake.  Scary stuff

Now, this one I call...."Just too close for comfort"

There is so much more that I want to share, but for now, here's just a few snap shots of this "First Mission to Turkey".

Incredible DOORS have been OPENED for us to return with more help and...I can hardly wait to return to Turkey.

In the meantime....I'm enjoying this time of rest, recuperation and peace.

Tomorrow morning, I'll be sharing the "Turkey Mission" with our home church, Little Mulberry Baptist.  BTW, our little church fully funded one of the 14 Rescuers!!  THANK YOU Little Mulberry!!

I want to THANK YOU for meandering down this "Road of Life" with us!!  God bless you and THANKS AGAIN!!!

A FLASH FROM THE PAST...."THE JESUS REVOLUTION"

Last night, Cindy, Ari and I saw the "The Jesus Revolution".

This Movie captures the history of the "Jesus Movement" and the beginning of Calvary Chapel.

OK, I cried a lot, tears of Joy and so many memories.  I was actually in San Francisco in 1969.

All I can say is...."Our Lord reached into a deep, dark hole and pulled me out...by His Amazing Grace!"

I strongly recommend you go see this great movie that truly captures one of the greatest Revivals of our time.

May America...and the rest of the world experience TRUE REVIVAL!  WE PRAY IT DOES!!

Dear Lord, send us....for the fields are white unto harvest!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love  and support!!!

FOLLOW UP.....

Now that I'm home, in our sweet little "Retreat Cabin", this is the perfect time to FOLLOW UP on so many excellent leads and connections from our "Mission to Turkey".

Oh Folks, it's good to be home, it's also a wonderful place to rest and recuperate.

Again, our Lord opened so many doors for us to strategically place 14 Air Mobile Rescuers in areas of desperate need for CLEAN WATER.

We've been able to reach some, who have been absolutely devastated, by a brutal series of powerful earthquakes.

There were a few close calls along the way.  Here's one that got a little too close for comfort.

I am ever reminded by the Words from our Lord Jesus.... "I was hungry, thirsty and you gave me to eat / drink....when you've done it unto the least of these, you've done it unto Me".

It is indeed more blessed to give than to receive.

Just read on down this rambling blog to see how our Lord opened so many doors for us to bring His great Love to the suffering.

While home, I'll be tending to some medical issues, specifically for my knees ( that were damaged by a motorcycle accident in Haiti years ago).  Cindy and I are believing for healing!!

Folks, I know that I say this every single day, but, I say this with all of my heart... THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

HOME....SAFE!!

Yesterday afternoon, the wheels of our little red Ford Escape pulled up to our beloved "Retreat Cabin".

All I can say is....

"It's good to be home"!!

Looking back on this epic mission to Turkey, my heart bursts with sadness and joy.

The raw suffering of literally millions who have lost loved ones, suffered horrible injuries and lost quite literally, everything weighs so heavily on my heart.

Yet, the fact that our precious Lord enabled Air Mobile to bring a small team right into the heart of this tragic situation and offer a little CLEAN WATER (14 Rescuers deployed) and a bit of food and supplies gives me a quiet joy. We shared the Love of Jesus with "the least of these".

I don't know when, but we will be back.

Stay tuned.

For now, I've go a pile of work here to catch up on and need to give my body some much needed rest.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

THE FINAL LEG.....

Yesterday, I traveled North on I-95 until the sheer exhaustion began to catch up with me.

I pulled into a Fairfield Inn Hotel in Orangeburg, SC.  So THANKFUL for a clean and comfortable place to lay my weary head.

Slowly, that old "Jet Lag" begins to lose it's grip as I'm shedding that 8 hour time difference between Turkey & Florida.

Well, I have just over 300 miles to go (5 hours) before I pull up to our sweet "Retreat Cabin" and my precious Cindy.

As I look back over the "Turkey Mission" of the last 2 weeks, I'm sad and yet have a quiet joy of our Lord using us for His Glory!

We were able to deliver, set up and train 14 Air Mobile Rescuers in very strategic locations throughout the terrible earthquake zones.

Once home, I'll review when and how we can do our next Mission.

I truly do want to return to Turkey, because, with our Lord's incredible grace, we've paved a bit of a way to get CLEAN WATER where desperately needed, our Lord Jesus' precious Name.

So, it's time to pack up and hit the road for the final leg of this intense and fruitful mission.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart....THANK YOU for your wonderful prayer, love and support!!

HEADING HOME!!!

When the wheels of the LOT 787 touched down in Miami...I breathed a long sigh of relief.

All I can say is..."WHAT A MISSION TO TURKEY"!

With our Lord's AMAZING GRACE & MIRACULOUS POWER, we completed our 15 day mission to Turkey.

We delivered and set up and trained 14 Air Mobile Rescuers throughout some of Turkey's most devastated locations.

We met AMAZING people who are laying their lives down to help others who have been absolutely DEVASTATED by these terrible earthquakes!

There is so much more that I want to share, but for now, I just want to say....IT'S GOOD TO BE HEADING HOME!!!

After the 12 hour flight & landing yesterday afternoon in Miami, I cleared Customs & Immigration and hit the road for the long drive home (1,000 miles - 15 hour drive).

I was totally exhausted and emotionally drained.  I called my son, Christian, who lives right off of I-95 in Rockledge, FL and asked if he had a bed for his old weary Dad.  Of course he did.

For the first time since landing in Turkey, I wasn't too worried about another earthquake hitting me.  For the first time, in these last 2 weeks, I SLEPT peacefully.

So, I'm up this morning and about to hit the road for the next 12 hour leg of this amazing journey and then....home to my sweet Cindy and our wonderful "Retreat Cabin".

THANK YOU so much for joining me on the epic mission and above all, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

PAUL'S HOUSE.... & ON-BOARD

Yesterday morning, Sam and I headed to a little house & well, just west of where we have been based in Turkey.

The name of the town is Tarsus. The earlier resident was...The Apostle Paul!

What an awesome opportunity to stand right where Paul drew water and lived.

I've been listening to the Book of Acts and what a blessing to be standing so close to where this mighty man of God began his life.

After a little while, just soaking up this Biblical History, it was time to head to the Adana Airport to catch a flight to Istanbul.

We landed in Istanbul right on time.  Had a quick sleep and up early to catch a flight to Warsaw, Poland this morning.

I'll be in a meeting with some folks who want Air Mobile to put more Rescuers in Ukraine!!

Then, the long flight back to Miami.  Time to pack up and head back to the Istanbul Airport for the next leg of this amazing journey.

As always, THANK YOU for your  invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

SO FAR...SO GOOD!

Yesterday, while I was fueling our van, Sam disappeared (not literally), and I found him with about 4 shopping carts full of food.

Sam can't resist the opportunity to bring food to the hungry!

Here's more -

Along the way to Adiyaman, we stopped at a small tent city and Sam did the distribution.

It went so smoothly and peacefully. What a BLESSING to be able bring even this seemingly small gift to hungry and suffering people.

Earlier, we had stopped by a small community on the side of the road and again, Sam drew the kids out with them shouting INDIA INDIA in honoring Sam's Indian Heritage.  They love Sam!

All of this is done in the shadow of the leaning pink building.

Such JOY in the midst of such tragedy.  It is truly "More Blessed to Give than to receive".

From these road side mini food distributions given with such love, we proceeded on to a Hospital in Adiyaman.

There we trained several water engineers on the Rescuer who will in turn, bring the Rescuers to remote areas in desperate need of clean water.

So, having deployed all 14 Rescuers, it is time to head home.

But....before we catch an afternoon flight to Istanbul and then to Miami via Warsaw....Sam and I are going to PAUL'S HOUSE (It's actually a well on the site he was born)!

Just 30 minutes west of where I'm sitting is the town of TARSUS.  Many years ago, Paul of Tarsus was born in this house.

So, we couldn't resist going there this morning.

What a MISSION!!

It's so good to be heading home....but our hearts are broken for so many who are suffering following these terrible earthquakes.

I suspect...we'll be back!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

DIRTY WATER....IN A "WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN"...MADE CLEAN!

Yesterday morning, Sam, me and our new Interpreter, Sidar, hit the road for Hatay, another city absolutely devastated by the earthquake(s).

It is difficult to comprehend the depth of destruction in this, one of many cities, throughout Turkey.

While in downtown Hatay, while looking at a building....a large tractor slowly crept by me...a little to close for comfort.  I was soon "out of there".

As we travel through this zone of terrible destruction, one could just turn on your phone / camera and let it roll because....THERE IS DESTRUCTION EVERYWHERE.

Sometimes, it's difficult to just turn off the phone/camera and let it rest a bit to allow yourself to regain composure.  It is just that DEVASTATING!

We worked our way to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) main distribution point and met with Ben Grant, who is heading up the Set- up & Operation of the WCK in Hatay.

Upon arrival, I asked Ben for bucket of dirty water and power for me to demonstrate & train them on the Rescuer.

He certainly came up with some very, very filthy water.

I quickly set up the Rescuer and then....DRANK that first water from the filthy bucket that ran through a Rescuer and came out crystal clear and clean!!

Here's the moment....

WCK is positioning all throughout this vast DISASTER ZONE and will be able to utilize the Rescuers very effectively.

After careful consideration, Air Mobile decided to donate 2 Air Mobile Rescuers to WCK.

At the end of our delivery and training to WCK, I gave Ben a copy of my book, Run to the Roar.

As it turned out, Ben and I  crossed paths in Ukraine several times, and just barely missed each other.

I suspect this will not be the last time Ben & my tracks will cross!

I first met WCK in Ukraine and am so proud to be able to work together with this amazing Operation!!

GOD BLESS YOU BEN & WCK!!!

Well, after that bit of a close shave with the huge machine clearing rubble, we headed back to our Base Camp in Adana.

Again, our Lord Jesus gave us a very, very good day!!

Today, we'll be heading back into the destruction zone and bringing CLEAN WATER to several isolated hospitals.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

THE MIRACLE ON ICE!!!

Yesterday, we went to a very remote hospital deep in the Mountains of Turkey.

The road had been closed after the earthquake due to many, many landslides with massive boulders blocking the road.

Only just recently, was it re-opened but still the boulders were falling.  Psalm 91 takes on new meaning with me.

When we arrived at the hospital, we asked for a bucket of water so that we could demonstrate the Rescuer.

We were told there was NO water since the earthquake.  Where could we get some water??

From the SNOW!  We filled a couple of tubs of ice and blew hot air from a large heater onto the ice.  Thus...WATER for our test!

Once enough snow was melted....we put the Rescuer to work purifying the snow into delicious safe water!!

Once enough snow was melted....we put the Rescuer to work purifying the snow into delicious safe water!!

I then began filling empty water bottles with CLEAN, PURIFIED SNOW WATER!!

It was with incredible JOY to present this hospital, so strategic to this whole community, with an AMAZING AIR MOBILE RESCUER!!

From this 'MIRACLE ON ICE' deployment we went to an Emergency Field Hospital provided by the Malaysian Military.  After a quick set up and training, I put my foot in the water and DRANK!

The Captain was sold!

We trained them and presented an Air Rescuer to this fine group from Malaysia sent to help.

Then....it was a 5 hour drive back through the Mountains and then back to our home base in Adana.

Whew!!! What a day!!!

So appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!!!

ALONG THE ROAD....BUILDINGS COMING DOWN

After gathering up all of our luggage from the Airbnb (in case we would have to make an immediate evacuation) we hit the road for Adiayman (Camp A).

Along the way, Sam did a dance for some kids and they quickly joined in.  We also gave each a tennis ball and some food.  Nice stop.

Once arriving in Adiyaman, we met with World Central Kitchen (WCK), an AMAZING organization that FEEDS THE HUNGRY!!

Our paths have crossed with WCK many times including Ukraine.

We met with Dan & Cameron, officers with WCK.   After discussing the need for CLEAN WATER & EMERGENCY PURIFICATION, to keep hot meals flowing, Air Mobile decided to donate 2 Air Mobile Rescuers.

I, immediately began training Cameron on the operation of the Rescuer.  He got it!

It was with great joy to present to 2 Air Mobile Rescuers to World Central Kitchen!  PRAISE GOD!!

Sam and I then hit the road for the 3 hour drive back to Adana.

It was a good day!

Today, we hit the road again, heading into desperate areas that need CLEAN WATER!

ANOTHER SHOCK....6.4

Sam and I were in the middle of planning our next move that would take us very close to the Turkey / Syrian Border.

We were to meet an Interpreter who would join us to the Border when....our building began to shake & Sam yelled "EARTHQUAKE RUN!!"

I gathered up my cell phone and coat and a few other quick things and headed out the door of our Airbnb which was located on the first floor of a 6 story building.

Here's the "Live Moment" of our Evacuation.  The entire building cleared out and the residents re-positioned away from the tall buildings which were all around us.

Sam and I got in our rental van and went close to the river and a large flat spot where no tall buildings towered over our head.

The Police came to our building and "ordered" a full evacuation until further notice.

Sam and I then took a few minutes and went quickly into our building and gathered up all of our stuff....in case another, larger quake. struck and we'd need to evacuate further.

We found spot in a Shell Gas Station and parked our van and went to a restless sleep for the night.

Folks closer to where this 6.4 Quake struck, were in deep panic and trauma....

WE PRAY FOR ALL WHO HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED BY THESE TERRIBLE QUAKES!

In light of this last Quake, Sam and I are adjusting our strategy of getting close to the Turkey / Syrian Border where Cholera has broken out.

PLEASE PRAY that we are precisely directed by our Lord.  We want to be at the right place at the right time.

SEARCHING FOR THE "ROAD" IN...

Yesterday, Sam and I drove to 2 critical locations (Camp K & Camp A) seeking the best places to deploy the Air Mobile Rescuers.

Here's our video while "On the Road" -

Sam and I PRAYED for our Lord to direct our steps!  After arriving at Camp A (Adiyaman) we saw "World Central Kitchen".

There we met Beriven, the contact we were seeking (USAID)!

Beriven had the exact phone numbers we needed!

PRAISE GOD!

Here's how this incredible story unfolded.

Folks, getting to the Turkey - Syrian Border is a long and complicated road.  We are finding our way there!

Today, we'll be reaching out to USAID to gain the critical information we need to proceed further.

BACK TO "ZERO"... STILL SHAKING & HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY!

First of all, Happy Birthday my dear Cindy!

Wish I could be there with you.

LOVE YOU SWEETHEART!

Meanwhile, our good friend, Doug Rodante returned to the U.S. yesterday.  It's been a great blessing to have Doug with us.

Doug has traveled around the world numerous times with Air Mobile.  Doug is a great pilot, photo journalist & amazing Water Mule.

Before dropping Doug at the Adana Airport, we met with Jose Esquer, water engineer for Operation Blessing.

Operation Blessing is setting up another Base near another Ground Zero and we discussed the local water situation.

We also discussed the planning and strategy to place Air Mobile Rescuers where most needed.

We so appreciate Operation Blessing and their great work around the world in 80 countries.

Today, Sam and I will be traveling to Adi-Yaman & Kahramanmaras where we will be meeting with USAID & other Relief Organizations.

We still have 10 Air Mobile Rescuers to strategically place where folks need CLEAN WATER!

WATER BORNE DISEASE, such as Cholera & Typhoid is beginning to show it's ugly head.  We are in a race against time!

Here's more - CLAIM OF "CHOLERA EPIDEMIC IN EARTHQUAKE "ZONE

Traveling into these zones is very dangerous, as nearly 5000 AFTER-SHOCKS have occurred and still SHAKING.  This whole area is EXTREMELY VOLATILE!

Tragically, the DEATH TOLL has passed 50,000 and still climbing!

PLEASE PRAY that we are directed very precisely in placing all of these Air Mobile Rescuers!

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

RECHARGE....

After 9 straight days, running at nearly 100mph every day...it was time for a "Day of Rest".

Our team was exhausted, both physically and emotionally.  We needed this rest.

Yesterday, Dr. Aaron returned to the U.S.  What an amazing friend and great Water Mule.  THANK YOU AARON!

While resting at our Base Camp in Adana (on the edge of the earthquake disaster zone), I did a quick Zoom interview with WBIR in Knoxville.

Here it is:  WBIR INTERVIEWS JOE HURSTON

With our "batteries" recharged (both literally and figuratively), it's time to head back into another Ground Zero (there are many) and strategically place some Air Mobile Rescuers.

Time to pack up and head out.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!

MORE SHAKING!!

Several hours ago, a 5.2 Earthquake shook southern Turkey near the Syrian Border.

This quake has been followed by several smaller quakes.  There have been over 4300 After-Shocks since the 2-6-23 Quake!!

As we work in this zone of destruction, so many PARTIALLY COLLAPSED buildings are teetering on the edge of complete COLLAPSE!

This situation is dramatically effecting the SAFETY DURING RECOVERY!

As we drove by building after building, we saw so many almost ready to collapse (killing more in the path).  I can't begin to tell you just DANGEROUS this situation is!!

Yesterday, our Team delivered critical supplies along with small cooking stoves to 5 different locations  in the hardest hit areas of this monstrous disaster.

THANK YOU Dr. Aaron for reaching into your pocket and paying for these critical supplies!

Today, 2 of our Team Members (Dr, Aaron & Faruch) will be heading home.  We PRAY they have a safe journey and we're so THANKFUL for their help!!

We'll be in meetings today with other Relief Organizations planning the best ways to deploy our Rescuers!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

REACHING IN DEEP.....DEPLOYED

Based on some good info, our team headed back to Hatay.

Along the way, we stopped at several small stores that were still in operation and secured essentials as cooking oil, flour, bread, medicines, diapers, etc.

We worked our way up winding roads to a small community in desperate need of food and clean water, located very near the Syrian Border.

The folks were kind and sweet.  Sam (who flew in from India) pulled a couple of used tennis balls (secured for Air Mobile by Gary & Kathy) and had the kids going.  It was a surreal moment.

As we assessed the community we noted that they had no electricity and they explained to us it was very sporadic.  As we were talking, suddenly, the electricity came on.

After gathering more info, we decided to donate a Rescuer to this community.

Dr. Aaron did the training on the Rescuer.  PRAISE GOD for our amazing team!

The little community, known for it's lemons and oranges expressed deep, deep gratitude for the Rescuer.  They now, can offer CLEAN WATER to their neighbors.

Folks, I could so feel the presence of Jesus in our midst and hearing Him say...

"I was thirsty and you gave me to drink....when you've done it unto the least of these you've done it unto Me"

The folks in the "Lemon Village" bid us a sweet farewell.

We were not through.  Faruch, a long-time friend of Dr. Aaron was busy securing our next location.

He had arranged from another friend, Taylan, an electrical engineer who was managing a relief center nearby, to be trained on the Rescuer.

We showed up in the dark of night and went right into the training.

Then, came the "magic moment" where I took the first drink and that always leads the way for confidence in the amazing Rescuer.

It was with incredible joy that we presented this Rescuer to this community located somewhere near ground zero amidst the destruction and pain.

PRAISE GOD FOR THIS PRIVILEGE!

Our team then loaded up into our Toyota Mini-van for the 3 hour drive back to our base camp.  It was a very, very good day!!

Meanwhile, the death toll continues to rise passing 41,000!  PLEASE PRAY for the all who have been so devastated by these terrible earthquakes!

Today, we're heading back out to "Ground Zero" to bring CLEAN WATER to the thirsty and desperate.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer love and support!!

SEARCH...& RECOVERY

Our Team returned to Hatay yesterday.  Our goal was to explore going to the Turkey / Syrian Border where the report that Cholera had broken out.

The SEARCH for living survivors officially ended yesterday.  The heavy machinery has moved in and is clearing debris.

Many bodies are still in the rubble.  It is a long and slow and painful process.

We got separated from one of our team members for a few minutes.  We were THANKFUL to find him.

Hatay is a tragic disaster.  Our hearts are broken as we drove through this extremely dangerous & volatile zone.

We departed Hatay for the Turkey / Syrian Border, knowing that we would return to Hatay many times in the days ahead.

The road was surprisingly good with limited destruction and we arrived at the Turkey / Syrian Border in just over an hour

The Border at this location is currently closed and we hope it opens soon.

In the meantime, we'll be seeking authorization to cross into Syria and bring CLEAN WATER into the cholera zone.

We are reaching out to other Relief organizations  and will be pursuing key locations for the Air Mobile rescuer water purifiers.

PLEASE PRAY THAT WE ARE GUIDED IN THIS PURSUIT!

As I say every single day, and truly mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and direction.

GOING TO "GROUND ZERO"

Our team loaded up and headed to Hatay, one of the many "Ground Zero's" of this terrible earthquake.

As we departed Adana, where there was very little impact from the earthquake, we braced for what was to lie ahead.

As we drew closer and closer to Hatay, the devastation unfolded before us in staggering proportions.

As we entered into Hatay, pretty much every building had damage and most were completely destroyed.

Take a look at this gripping video - AIR MOBILE DRAWING INTO GROUND ZERO

Our destination was the Operation Blessing (OB) Camp located in Hatay.

Once arriving there, and it took a long time of driving through the staggering winding paths through rubble, we met the Gabby, the OB Camp Director.

We demonstrated the Air Mobile Rescuer and the whole team rejoiced.

They pulled water out of close-by stream and the Rescuer did it's wonderful thing....cleaning up that filthy water.

After I drink some, the whole team followed and had a good drink of some very dirty, now clean, water!  PRAISE GOD!

Air Mobile donated 2 Rescuers to this team on the "Front Lines" of this tragedy.

We then loaded up and headed back to our base camp Adana.  What a day!!

THANK YOU for your precious and vital prayer, love and support!!

2-13-23 Monday 8:48 AM (Istanbul Turkey Time) - "AIR MOBILE" on the ground in Turkey - Report submitted by Air Mobile Joe

ON THE GROUND IN ADANA, TURKEY

After a full day and night of flying, our team landed in Adana, the hardest hit area of Turkey.

Once on the ground, we secured our vehicle and awaited ALL of the Air Mobile Rescuers to come off the plane and into our hands.

When in the terminal we waited for our 9 tubs and 14 Rescuers to arrive.  There was a somber atmosphere as the conveyer made the rounds.

While waiting for the Rescuers, I was glad to find my good friend, Diego, from Operation Blessing!

We've worked together in Ukraine and now, we'll see how we can help with CLEAN WATER!!

It was a tremendous relief to see those 9 tubs come through Customs.   So far, so good!  PRAISE GOD!!

Today, we'll be traveling to GROUND ZERO.  The death toll has topped 34,000 & climbing.

May our Lord Jesus direct us each step of the way!!

THANK YOU for your PRAYER, LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!

GATHERING THE TROOPS & PACKING "RESCUERS" - DEATH TOLL TOPS 24,000!

Yesterday, I drove from Tennessee to Florida with 14 Air Mobile Rescuers aboard our little Ford Escape.  The 720 mile leg went smooth.

This morning, our team will meet at Space Coast Regional Airport. There we'll prepare the Rescuers  in their containers, along with our others supplies.

I'll be meeting Dr. Aaron Webb ( a great Doctor who has traveled the world with Air Mobile bringing CLEAN WATER following disasters.

I'll also be joined by Doug Rodante, a great pilot and Documentary film maker.  Doug, also has traveled around the world numerous times with Air Mobile.

I know I've said this many times before, but a wise pastor once told me, "remember,  God knows how to deploy His troops.

I'm THANKFUL that Dr. Aaron and Doug literally dropped everything to join me on this "Mission" to Turkey.

The DEATH TOLL has passed 24,000 and is still rising.  WE PRAY!!

Here's more - DEATH TOLL TOPS 24,000 & CLIMBING

Our next leg will be 250 miles to Miami.  We'll catch a Non-Stop flight to Istanbul and then a domestic flight to Adana, Ground Zero of this terrible quake.

PLEASE PRAY with us for a safe journey there.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful & vital prayer, love and support!!

AIR MOBILE HEADING TO TURKEY!!

I just could not sit this one out.  After a sleepless night and a lot of research into just what was happening in Turkey / Syria following DEADLY EARTHQUAKES....AIR MOBILE HAS TO GO!

The death-toll is steadily climbing and has passed 20,000!  We're going into RAPID drive to get to Turkey with life-saving water purifiers.

We're extremely grateful to our local media for broadcasting our plans to go to Turkey.

Here is ABC WBIR CHANNEL 10 in Knoxville - AIR MOBILE GOING TO TURKEY

Then, CBS WVLT CHANNEL 8 in Knoxville aired this story - SNEEDVILLE PILOT / MISSIONARY HEADING TO TURKEY WITH WATER PURIFIERS

We're putting a final check on our load of 14 Air Mobile Rescuers in our trusty Ford Escape.

Normally, we bring in 10 Air Mobile Rescuers on our first mission to a disaster.

This time, I felt led by our Lord to bring in 14 units.  PRAISE GOD, we had them built and ready to GO!

However, we're launching this "Mission" without a single unit funded.

We know that our Lord will provide.  And...we're so THANKFUL to have you on-board with us with your faithful PRAYER, LOVE & SUPPORT!!

Well, it's time to hit the road for the 1000 mile journey to Miami where we'll catch a direct flight to Istanbul and then a domestic flight to Adana, Turkey, ground zero of this terrible earthquake!

DEVASTATION IN TURKEY!

Cindy and I are following the horrible news of the powerful earthquakes that have crushed southern Turkey and Syria.

The death toll has passed 11,000 & still rising!

Hope is waning for live rescues.

Here's more on this unfolding tragedy -  EARTHQUAKE(S) IN TURKEY, SYRIA IS DEADLIEST IN MORE THAN A DECADE AS DEATH-TOLL PASSES 11,000!

Already, water sources have been cross contaminated and the need for CLEAN WATER is becoming more and more URGENT by the hour.

We are PRAYING about the possibility of Air Mobile going to Turkey with Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers.

We are reaching out to relief organizations that are headed to Turkey.

Our immediate goal is to bring in 10 Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers.  Each unit costs $3000.00.  PLEASE PRAY about helping us to fund these units.

We are ready to go to Turkey on very short notice.  PLEASE help us to get there!

I want to THANK YOU for your faithful support all these years.

A VERY LONG DAY &....A "GOD WINK*"

*God wink (plural God winks)

  1. An event or personal experience, often identified as coincidence, so astonishing that it is seen as a sign of divine intervention, especially when perceived as the answer to a prayer.

Cindy and I planned our trip to Nashville with a solid 2 hour buffer....just in case.

I was scheduled to have an MRI at Vanderbilt Medical.  We left on time and worked our way over to I-40 and all was on schedule for this 250 mile leg.

About 130 miles into the trip, the old red Escape suddenly lost power.  Cindy was driving this leg and pulled off the road.  I noted that the temperature gauge was "pegged".

I quickly opened the hood and saw that the water / coolant reservoir was just a little bit low.  I found three small partially drunk water bottles and filled the reservoir.

Mmmm, the reservoir did not spew out steaming hot water, yet every indication was an overheat.

Well, I stayed on the shoulder and could only get 10-15 mph.  Fortunately, we were just over a mile from an exit.

In risk of damaging the head gasket, I chose to creep on the shoulder and try to get to a station and some help.  We still had just under a 2 hour buffer.  WE PRAYED all they way  to the exit.

Upon reaching it, I asked Cindy which way should we turn to the nearest gas station.  She said, turn left.

I carefully checked for traffic, as the old Escape was barely moving when....right in front of me was an old-fashioned auto repair shop.

I jumped over a short median and crept up to the middle bay door.  The owner / head mechanic, Stan, was talking to a customer.  I explained our situation and asked if I should shut it down.

He quickly nodded yes, "don't want to warp the head."  After his customer left, Stan came over and began assessing the situation.

He carefully opened the reservoir, expecting a hot geyser to shoot out. No hot spew.   He felt the engine compartment for excessive heat.  All seemed normal.

Go ahead and crank it up.  It had been about 5 minutes.  It started right up and the temperature gauge was normal!  This didn't make any sense.  This was just plain weird.  It should not cool down in just minutes.

Furthermore, I raced the engine and that too was normal.  Earlier, I could barely get 1500 rpm.

What was going on??

I asked Stan to get his engine analyzer and check out the overheat code.

All was normal.  Then....I began to know why we ended up in Stan's shop.  When he plugged in the analyzer, he looked like he was going to pass out.

I quickly asked if I could PRAY.  He weakly nodded, yes.  Cindy and I prayed for Stan and after a few minutes, he regained a bit of strength.

He just looked at me and whispered "Black Lung Disease".  I asked if he got it in the mines (this is coal country).  He explained it was from Black mold in his home.

Back to the Escape.  All was normal.  I asked Stan if this was his car, would he drive it to Nashville (120 miles away).  He said, "absolutely".

We had another word of prayer and THANKED God for that strange "overheat" moment and meeting our new friend, Stan.

Cindy and I had an AMAZING opportunity to share the Love of Jesus with Stan.

It was NO ACCIDENT that the little Red Escape indicated overheat, but was no overheat.

Well, Cindy and I drove on to Nashville and the temperature gauge was perfectly normal.  We still had an hour to spare.

After my MRI, we headed back to our "Retreat Cabin".  The temperature gauge never moved from "Perfectly Normal".

We rolled up to our cabin around midnight.  What a day.  Cindy and I PRAYED for Stan and then went to sleep.

Now, Folks, all I can say is...."THAT WAS A GOD WINK!!"

PLEASE join us in PRAYER for Stan!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - Next time we go to Nashville, we'll stop in and check on Stan.  In the meantime, we'll PRAY for him.

BTW, there was NO CHARGE for the service.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF...."THE CHINESE SPY BALLOON" EPISODE...

After the dramatic "shoot down" of this mysterious Chinese Spy Balloon, U.S. Navy dive teams are searching the waters for evidence and answers.

We will see just how much of the answers will be shared with plain old regular citizens such as us.

In the meantime, Mainstream News Agencies are searching for the next story or stories that will drive the ratings.

It may be a dramatic murder trial or Hunter's Laptop or another "spy" story.  You never know.

We gather up the bits and pieces that we are fed and try to figure out our next move.

Folks, that's why we PRAY!  We need our Lord's Direction in where to go and when to go.

Remember, going over a Prepper List, is a good thing to do from time to time.  Never hurts.

Well, this morning, I'll be taking a drive to Nashville for some more medical tests at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).

I'm THANKFUL for the good medical care I'm receiving.  We, of course, are believing our Lord from complete healing from cancer.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

WHAT TO DO.....

In light of the extraordinary events, with the Chinese Spy Balloon's 4000 mile journey across America and the explosion, at the end just inside the USADIZ (Air Defense Identification Zone)....Cindy and I realize, it's time to go over our "PREPPING" position.

There is no doubt, that this event was a Chinese provocation, and a deep "probe" to see just what the U.S. would do.

Folks, the fact is, there so so much that we DO NOT KNOW!  However, there are things that we can do to protect ourselves during these PERILOUS TIMES.

Now, the first thing to do is....A.S.A.P. ( "ALWAYS - SAY - A - PRAYER")!!

Cindy and I would encourage you to look over your food supply,  your medical supply, your water supply and a means to stay warm, etc. etc. if...."something happens".

Here's a simple
PREPPING CHECK LIST to just get you thinking about "WHAT TO DO".

Believe me, this is not a bad exercise.  It's always good to sharpen your survival skills.

Now, Cindy and I are not "Prophets of Doom".  It's just a good idea to go over your situation and see what you can do to strengthen it.

We PRAY you have a BLESSED DAY and....just think about it.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CHINESE SPY BALLOON(S).....EMP? DEADLY VIRUS?....WE DON'T KNOW!

We're watching this potentially DEADLY balloon pass over America with seemingly complete control and the fact is...we just don't know the intentions.

At least our govt. is not letting us know.

No, I'm not being paranoid, but just look at the facts.  This has very deadly potential.

Then, there was an EXPLOSION in the sky above Billings, Montana.

Here's more - EXPLOSION IN THE SKY ABOVE BILLINGS, MONTANA

Then, to add to the intrigue, another Chinese balloon has been spotted over Central America.

Here's more - PENTAGON REPORTS ANOTHER CHINESE SPY BALLOON REPORTED BEING SEEN OVER CENTRAL AMERICA

Folks, these are EXTRAORDINARY events and a call for us to PRAY!!

We're keeping a close eye on these unfolding events.

Together, we PRAY!!!

Air Mobile Joe

We PRAY for our leaders to have wisdom and guidance through these perilous times.

MAKING SOMEONE ELSES HAY....

After checking the radar, looked like the rain had passed. We'd been waiting for that.

So, Yahn and I hooked up our little red trailer to our old Dodge Ram and headed to a neighboring farm and loaded up 25 bales of some fine hay for our critters.

Good hay is a gift and helps us through the winter.  Our critters sure appreciate it.

Got a question for you.  Have you ever considered moving up to the Mountains of East TN?

Well, if so, you'll need a good Realtor.

Happen to know of a great one and....I'm married to her.  Here's her info:

BTW, Creek Country Real Estate is owned by our dear friend Teresa Suarez.

We're BLESSED to have this great connection.  Here's the phone number.

Now, here's an example of some of the "Treasures" you'll find up here.

Cindy and I first bought our "Retreat Cabin" up here 12 years ago and have not regretted it for a single Nano-second.  BTW, I call it "God's Country".

So, there you have it.  Let us know if we can help you find a great place up here, in the Mountains of East TN.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

"OLD TIMERS....TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER"

I remember, when I was a kid, I'd laugh about the "Old Timers" talking about the weather.

Now....I'm an "Old Timer" &....I'm talking about the weather.

Well, having a little farm, it's important to wait for the rain to stop before picking up 25 bales of hay...or such.

You know, when you write a "Daily Blog", sometimes, I just don't know what to talk about.  So....I look around and...talk about the weather.

And here we are, in between "Missions" and getting ready for...the Next Mission.

It's also nice to just sit around with a good cup of coffee and watch the old wood stove.  Yes, I'm getting "older" and enjoying the simple things in life.

Hope you're having a good day.  So glad you've joined me on the rambling blog.

As I say every single day....THANK YOU for your precious prayer. love and support!!
