NO RECORDED DEATHS FROM 8.8 QUAKE...PRAISE GOD!!

We are THANKFUL that this massive Quake (the 6th most powerful in recorded history) did not do more damage and that no lives were lost.  We are grateful!!

In the meantime, it is a good time to evaluate where we are in regard to PREPARING for disasters that lie ahead.  It is not of matter of IF, but WHEN they will come.

Remember the Words of Jesus in Matthew 24...there will be EARTHQUAKES in diverse places.

You might want to do an Emergency Evaluation where you live.

Meanwhile, life goes on.  We seek His direction for this day that our Lord has made!

8.8 QUAKE...A WAKE-UP CALL

The 8.8 Russia Earthquake is recorded as the sixth most powerful quake in modern history.

As soon as it hit, yesterday evening, I quickly began looking at our own EMERGENCY supplies and equipment and our current inventory of Air Mobile Rescuers in stock.  

This is an excellent "Wake-up call" TO BE PREPARED!

In addition to the regular chores, here at our little farm, we're going through the systems (back-up power, clean water, medical supplies, etc).

We're following up on several leads where CLEAN WATER is  desperately needed  and people are dying.  We'll send more info as we research ways that Air Mobile can help.

Being with Barbara at the Haiti Orphan Re-Union in Indiana this past weekend is inspiring Cindy and me to do more.

At this time, between "Missions", we're reaching out to other areas of need around the world, and above all, asking our Lord to send us.

Stay tuned, there's no telling where our Lord will send us next. But know this, when the call comes...we'll GO!

A WONDERFUL CELEBRATION

Cindy, Ari & I drove to New Castle, Indiana yesterday to be with our beloved Barbara Walker, the Lady in the Blue Dress!

Folks came from far and wide to Celebrate the rescue and adoption of these precious children from Haiti.

Sweet memories.  After the party, Cindy Ari and I made the 6-hour drive back to our wonderful "Retreat Cabin."

INTO THE HEARTLAND

Yesterday, Cindy, Ari & I drove from our "Retreat Cabin" in TN to the Heartland of Indiana - Corn country..as far as the eye can see.

Today, we'll be meeting with Barbara Walker and some of the many orphans that Barb rescued and arranged for their adoption.  

We'll be at the Cornerstone Camp Ground in New Castle, Indiana.  It's going to be a wonderful day of celebration and joy!!

WHO IS BARABA WALKER??

I know that some of you who are reading this "Rambling Blog" know who Barbara Walker is (AKA "Rambo in the Blue Dress").

But, for those who don't, here's a quick snap-shot of  this incredible "Lady of God".  

We call her "Rambo in the Blue Dress" because of her fierce courage and determined mission to rescue and arrange the adoption of over 3.000 children, including our Ariana and Vinette.

Barb has also traveled around the world with Air Mobile, deploying "Rescuers" to bring clean water where it is desperately needed.

Well, every year, there is a Re-Union of the Adoptees. It usually happens in mid-July in New Castle, IN at the Cornerstone Camp ground. 

These kids have awesome stories of miracles and amazing grace! I've even flown some of them in Ti- Burik, our mission aircraft.

I've known Anderson, pictured here, since he was 5 years old.

We flew Ariana in from FL to join us this year.  The Celebration begins tonight.

I can't begin to tell you how much Cindy and I love and appreciate Barbara!!

And, I want to THANK you for meandering down this road of life with me, and especially for your precious prayer, love and support!

Folks, I must tell you that the time that we are blessed to spend here at our beloved "Retreat Cabin" is sweet. 

What a wonderful time to re-charge our batteries. It is also an excellent platform to write and edit and polish our next book, "Storm Dancers". Cindy and I are making wonderful progress on it.

Re-living the miracles and the challenges and the joy and sadness both strengthens our soul and opens the door for healing.

I relish this time and know "until then", we will be ready when the call comes to launch our "Next Mission".

We are so grateful to have you with us on this remarkable journey!

WHAT IS A HEAT DOME?

A Weather phenomena known as a HEAT DOME  can be very  DANGEROUS!

If you're feeling the HEAT and it's rising, this may be what is going on.

1) Stay COOL

2) Stay HYDRATED

3) CHECK on those around you

Yesterday, while checking for WEAK LINKS, I found that one of our AC units was not was not working properly. Time to get it repaired.

Make sure you have plenty of drinking water on hand & stay COOL!

GETTING READY...

It's a good time to look around and search for WEAK LINKS in our "Retreat Cabin".  We don't know when a disaster will strike, but we do know it's a matter of time before it does.

Taking advantage of this time between "Missions" is a prudent thing  to do. It's all about having an attitude of "Preparing".

May I encourage to "look around" for any WEAK LINKS you may have. 

You may uncover something, that in the days ahead, you may be very thankful that you found.  It's just a thought.

A JOY IN THE MORNING...

One of my great joys in the morning is letting our ducks out.

These wonderful and funny creatures are  a kick.  I often sit out here and just watch them.  We have incubated & hatched almost all of our ducks.  They stick together and their antics makes me smile.

Oh, it's the simple things in life that brings healing and joy.

Cindy and I have been working on "Storm Dancers" and making good progress.

Here's a prayer request.  Cindy and I both have a cold.  We're taking a lot of Vitamin C and resting. 

We're planning to go to Barbara Walker's Orphan Reunion in Indiana on Friday.  Please PRAY for our healing.

A GOOD TIME TO WRITE...

Looks like we'll be getting rain for the rest of the week and that lends itself to a good time to write on "Storm Dancers".

Cindy is helping me with her excellent editing.  All I can say is...I'm THANKFUL for God bringing Cindy into my life!

Have a little break from the rain so, dashing out the door to do chores in between rain showers. Of course, we're keeping a close eye on the "low spots" for flash-flooding.

It is as if this old Earth is groaning as found in Romans 8:22.

At any rate, it is a good time to be READY & AWARE of things going on around us.

Meanwhile, we're still in a FLOOD WATCH, & will keep an eye on the "Low Spots" along our route of travel today.

Most importantly, we'll keep our eyes on Jesus and our ears tuned to His voice for direction.

FLOOD WATCH...

Even here in the Mountains of East TN, FLOOD WATCHES are popping up throughout our region.

Even though our "Retreat Cabin" is well above sea level, the roads leading in and out are full of low-lying areas.  Those are the areas to avoid, or at least be cautious of.

The horrible flooding in Kerr County TX is certainly a wake-up call for us all.  PLEASE continue to PRAY for those who have lost loved ones.

Last night, we had several strong thunderstorms pass through, dropping a lot of rain.  Local rivers and streams are now absorbing them and river levels are rising.  

BE ON THE LOOK-OUT & heed evacuation orders.  As I often say..."If you err on any side, err on the EVACUATE side".  

In other words, be READY to evacuate.  Often, it just means seeking HIGHER GROUND.  

Be AWARE of your setting and have an EVACUATION PLAN  READY!

"WHEN YOU SHALL SEE ALL THESE THINGS...KNOW THAT THE END IS NEAR, EVEN AT THE DOORS" Matthew 24:33

This morning, I was reading Matthew 24 and when I got to Verse 33, I stopped to ponder these Words of Jesus.  

Jesus told His Disciples, including us, to WATCH for the signs.  Matthew 24 is full of signs, and yes, we are seeing them unfold before our very eyes.

May I urge you to read Matthew 24 and compare what we are seeing and what Jesus told us would happen.

In the meantime, Jesus tells us to be ready to "GO into all the world and preach the Gospel". Cindy and I stand ready to GO!  

Not only can we bring the Gospel, we can bring CLEAN WATER to the thirsty. What a wonderful way to demonstrate the Love of God!

HOME...AT LAST

Yesterday afternoon, we rolled up to our beloved "Retreat Cabin".  Had a wonderful time in Florida enjoying our kids and the Ocean and Beaches.

It is simply good to be home.  Now, we know from experience that there will be another "Mission" somewhere.  Cindy and I say..."Here we are, Lord, send us!"

For this moment, we're enjoying our sweet "Retreat Cabin" and that second cup of coffee.

HALF-WAY HOME...

Yesterday morning in FL, we bid farewell to Peter and Ariana and we hit the road heading home. 

At about the halfway point, we pulled into the Orangeburg, SC Hampton Inn.  We usually stay here. They give us a good price.

We've got about 5 hours until we pull up to our sweet "Retreat Cabin".  

We thoroughly  enjoyed our FL getaway spending time with Peter & Ariana and enjoyed the beautiful beach &  ocean.

Cindy and I are  THANKFUL for a clean & comfortable place to take a break at about the half-way point. 

I know that I mention this from time to time, but it bears repeating... America is a wonderful place to live.  We have wonderful roads and so many places to rest and have a wonderful road-trip home. 

So, it's to time to do this final leg home..to our critters and our beloved "Retreat Cabin".

HEADING HOME...

Well, it's time to pack up and "hit the road" for Tennessee.  We've so enjoyed being with Peter and Ariana on this trip to Florida.

As you may recall, I had come down to Florida to care for my good friend, Chuck Fullman who had surgery.  Just want you to know, Chuck is doing  fine.  THANK  YOU for your prayers.

Now, we have a 12 hour drive ahead of us.  We may drive it all the way through, or break it up somewhere in South Carolina.  Please pray for traveling mercy on our journey home.

At at rate, we're eager to get home to all our critters... (horses, donkeys, ducks, dogs and cats) and our sweet "Retreat Cabin".

EVENING BEACH WALK...

Cindy, Ari and I were glad to be joined by Peter for a pleasant evening together.  That is why we slip down to Florida from time to time.

After a wonderful dinner in Melbourne, we took a nice walk down the beach after sunset.

Today is just a good day of rest and relaxation and working on "Storm Dancers".

Tomorrow, we plan to hit the road for TN and our sweet "Retreat Cabin" in the mountains of East TN.

Let us also continue to PRAY for all of those who have been so impacted by the terrible flooding in Texas and beyond.

Taking advantage of being in Florida, I'm  working on "Storm Dancers".  BTW, I'm nearly finished with it and Cindy has begun editing it.

The Atlantic Ocean is right at our doorstep, lending itself to quiet and peaceful walks on the beach and spending precious time with our Ariana.

This evening, our son, Peter, will be joining us for dinner.

In those quiet times of walking on the beach, I'm PRAYING for the Texas Flood victims.  What a terrible tragedy.  Please continue to join us in PRAYER!

THE GRIM TASK...

The death toll continues to climb in Texas and has reached 120 with 170 still missing.  Searching for and finding the bodies is a grim task.

The grief from this tragedy is unimaginable.  PLEASE continue to join us in PRAYER.

HIGHER GROUND...

Now is the time to prepare for the next disaster.  One of the lessons we are learning from the Texas Flood is to be very tuned into WARNINGS.

Though the Texas Flood was very much like the "Perfect Storm", still, if we err on any side, may it be on the EVACUATE side.

As we are seeing in new flooding in New Mexico, we should be thinking that HIGHER GROUND is SAFER GROUND!

In other words, be aware of your surroundings and know where the elevation begins to rise and have a plan to get there as quickly as possible.

TOGETHER...

Yesterday evening, Cindy drove down to Indialantic, FL. and joined Ariana and me, after her 12 hour drive from TN.  She had a good drive.  THANK YOU for your prayers. 

We'll be here in FL for a few days, visiting with family and just enjoying Florida.

I'm very pleased to say that my good friend, Chuck, is recovering from surgery and doing very well.  Again, THANK YOU for your prayers for Chuck.

Meanwhile, the terrible tragic flooding has taken 104 lives and victims are still being found.

MEETING IN FLORIDA...

Yesterday, I had lunch with Ariana in Indialantic, FL on the ocean.  

We met at a famous Surf Restaurant, Long Doggers. So good seeing Ari!

Later today, Cindy will arrive in Florida, driving down from Tennessee.  Please PRAY for a safe drive for Cindy. Together, we'll spend some good time near the Ocean and just enjoying one another. 

All this past week, I've been caring for my good friend, Chuck Fullmer.  He has been recovering from surgery and doing very well.  

This morning, I'll bring Chuck to Celebration Hospital for a Post-Op appointment. THANK YOU for your prayers for Chuck.

We continue to PRAY for those impacted by this terrible FLOOD!  The death toll continues to rise.

PRAYING FOR KERRVILLE...

Yesterday, devastating FLASH FLOODING struck Texas.  The death toll is 32 with 27 missing! 

The Guadalupe River rose 25 feet in 45 minutes, leaving no time to escape for many.  

PLEASE PRAY!

The rain is still falling and there are still many in the path of these FLASH FLOODS!

I can't imagine what the parents of those little girls & victims of this horrible flood must be going through!  

Again, PLEASE PRAY!!

Folks, I have a specific PRAYER REQUEST and I ask you to join me.  It is the repair of the Little Donkey, our mission aircraft.  

Recently, Air Mobile made several life-saving deployments to North Carolina, Spain and Myanmar.  

In order for us to deploy for these critical missions, I borrowed $125,000 from the engine / propeller fund to accomplish these missions.  THANK GOD, we were successful in the deployments.

However, I need to replace those borrowed funds so that we can proceed to get the LITTLE DONKEY back in the air.

HAPPY 4TH!!

249 years old and still counting!  I praise God for America!!

Yesterday, I met with my son, Christian at the new East Coast Church located on U.S. 1 at Michigan Avenue in Cocoa, FL.

Christian is the Pastor of this thriving and powerful church.  OK, I am very proud of my son, Christian!  GO CHRISTIAN!!   

Yesterday, in between caring for my good friend, Chuck, and seeing my son, Christian, I slipped over to Kennedy Space Center.

Thought I'd give you a little tour, behind the scenes of this historic and strategic site. 

Already, Space X has launched 56 rockets just this year.  GO SPACE X!

So, on this 4th of July beautiful day, I PRAISE GOD for His wonderful and amazing grace!  

I say with all of my heart...GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Yesterday, Chuck was released from the hospital and I drove him home, here in "The Great Outdoors" resort in Titusville, FL..

SUCCESSFUL SURGERY!

Yesterday, I brought my good friend, Chuck Fullmer to Celebration Hospital in Celebration, FL for surgery.

Everything went smoothly.  Surgery was successful!  PRAISE GOD!

Today, I'll be bringing Chuck home to "The Great Outdoors" where he  will be recovering.

Yesterday, I heard the sad news that Jimmy Swaggart passed away. I sure loved Brother Swaggart.

ANOTHER RED-EYE...

Yesterday evening, I boarded an American Airlines A-321in Phoenix AZ, bound for Orlando via DFW.

I flew all night to arrive in Orlando after midnight (a true "Red-Eye".)

My good friends, Jim & Ruby Logan graciously picked me up from the airport late last night.

I arrived just in time to bring my good friend, Chuck Fullmer to the hospital for surgery this morning.  We planned this "Mission" weeks ago.

PLEASE pray that Chuck's surgery is successful and that his recovery is quick with minimal pain. I'll be staying with Chuck for a few days as he recovers.
