THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES....DECEMBER 2015

1-5-16 Tuesday 6:33AM (Haiti Time) - Bon Repos - Air Mobile Base Camp - Report submitted by: Air Mobile Joe

JUST ENOUGH OF A BREAK....

The Little Donkey was all loaded and fueled and just waiting to "gallop".  Had been watching the weather and then it came, just enough of a break to allow me to "slip" into Haiti.

I kissed my Cindy goodbye and headed to the airport.  Did the final fueling, pre-flight and prayed for our Lord to lead the way.

There was still a lot of light rain along the route and the freezing level was quite low.  Initially, I flew at 11,000' to avoid icing.

Then, just as I passed Nassau, the sun broke through and the rest of the flight was clear and smooth.

Folks, I just love to fly.  Being able to do this and at the same time bring in help and relief to the needy is just so cool.

Often when I fly, I feel just a little closer to the Lord.  We've had such wonderful fellowship on these journey's.

Slowly, Barb's food pantry is beginning to be replenished.  Barb is also surrounded by so many wonderful volunteers, like Mandy from Utah.

Mandy has been coming in and helping Barb for years.  Again, where would we be without so many helping us to help others!

BTW, Doug, our premier "Water Mule" made that little blue wagon and the Little Donkey flew it in.

So, as I sit at my "Haiti Desk" sipping a good cup of coffee and writing this rambling blog, I'm just THANKFUL for the safe journey and the opportunity to bring food and clean water to those who so need it.

This is going to be a busy week in Haiti.  The political turmoil is adding to the challenges as we travel the roads.  Please pray a special prayer of protection as we move about.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and vital prayer, love and support!!

INCOMING GIFTS / A NICE "STRIPE" & WATCHING WEATHER

What a day of receiving gifts for others less fortunate.  I'm so THANKFUL for generous folks!  Barbara's food pantry has been very low and the word has gone out.

Michelle and her husband brought a great load of food and other goodies after church. Our Lord, so faithfully, deployed His troops!

Then, after "Delta Rose" landed from Detroit, (Rose is a Flight Attendant for Delta), we met at a local McDonalds for the transfer of vital medical supplies for Haiti.

Another one of our great "Water Mules", Yahn, is very talented and recently went over the Little Donkey touching up the paint job and he finished the long awaited "Gold Stripe".  We are so blessed to have such talent and ability in our "Volunteer Corp"!

I'm up early this morning checking the weather and there's a "lingering line" of storms coming through Florida. We're just waiting for them to clear out.

We spent a week up in Tennessee with storm after storm. Hopefully, they will come to an end soon.

It's good to be back in Florida, but must admit, those Tennessee mountains are sure sweet and peaceful.

Looks like 2016 is going to be quite a year.  We'll be launching our "Next Mission" soon.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable PRAYER, LOVE AND SUPPORT!!

GATHERING GIFTS

After returning to Florida, we began meeting folks with gifts and supplies for Haiti.  One of our great "Water Mules", Doug took it on himself to find the funding for a dedicated generator for our "Intrepid" Barbara in Haiti.  He delivered the pretty red generator yesterday.

Earlier, Julie, another friend to Air Mobile, brought a beautiful load of food and diapers for the Orphanage in Haiti.

Again, we're so THANKFUL for generous and caring souls who help the helpless.  Together, we're able to bring relief and hope and love to those who so need it.

Today, I'll be meeting with our dear "Delta Rose" who has more supplies for Haiti.  Rose has helped us time and time again to travel the world bringing clean water to the thirsty by providing "Delta Buddy Passes" to our teams.  God bless you, Rose!

While meeting Rose, Margaret, another faithful "Gatherer" of gifts will be meeting us with more baby food and supplies for Haiti.  Just moments ago, I hung up the phone with Michelle who also has gifts for Haiti.  I just love when our Lord touches hearts to help!!

As we "Launch" into 2016, Cindy and I are excited about all that lies before us.  We're surrounded by so many loving and caring friends, who help us daily in this journey of reaching out to a thirsty and hungry world.  Above all, we're THANKFUL to our Lord Jesus for touching the hearts of our friends who help us to help others!

I am ever reminded of the Words of our Lord Jesus in Matthew 25:35-36..."I was hungry and thirsty.. and you gave me to eat and drink...when you've done it unto the least of these, my Brethren, you've done it unto Me".

Again, we're so THANKFUL to you for standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!

LED HOME BY GRACE

We got up early yesterday and packed up & loaded up in our Ford Escape and hit the road for the 12+ hour journey home.  THANK GOD, we made it all the way home safe and sound.

I jumped in this "selfie" shot.  It's always a sad day to leave the little "Retreat Cabin" in the mountains of East Tennesssee, but it was time to return to Florida and get ready for the "Next Mission".

Peter helped drive we were thankful there was not a single accident or delay on the 730 mile journey.  We pulled into our driveway after 1:30am and were, again THANKFUL for the safe journey.

Today, we'll be meeting some volunteers at the airport to receive a nice load of baby food / formula / medicine, etc. for Haiti.  We're so GRATEFUL for generous souls!

We've also been following a tragedy "unfolding" on the Haiti / Dominican Border.  The DR (Dominican Republic) has been deporting tens of thousands of Haitians and this has caused a new "Refugee Camp" to be formed in a very inhospitable area of the country.

Apparently, Cholera is breaking out.  They NEED CLEAN WATER!  Here's more - "LIFE WITHOUT DIGNITY" FOR 'STATE-LESS' ON HAITI BORDER

Again, we are following this situation very closely.  Even though we're a bit "road-weary", it's time to head out into this day that our Lord has made.

As always, THANK YOU for your vital and precious prayer, love and support!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

As Cindy and I walk across the threshold of this New Year, our hearts are filled with THANKSGIVING for the AMAZING GRACE that Jesus has bestowed upon us!

As we look back upon the many times that He has opened doors for us and provided for us, both life and safety, and the ability to bring help to the hopeless, we're just amazed and thankful!

We do look forward to this New Year - 2016.  There is so much going on in the world and the needs are so great. We're confident in Jesus and we hold on very tightly to His hand!

May we encourage you to put your trust and confidence in Jesus.  He is ever-present and He will never leave you or forsake you!

So, as I say every single day and mean with all my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

We're up early this morning and doing the final packing and loading.  We'll be hitting the road for Florida in a few hours.  Please pray for us to have a safe journey home.

We're in this "Fellowship" together (like "Fellows in a Ship"), and we'll see great and wonderful things in this New Year, by God's Amazing Grace!!

MAJOR FLOODING

As we end 2015, thousands are dealing with major flooding. The "Christmas Storms" have caused rivers to reach Record Flood Levels - MISSISSIPPI RIVER FLOOD CREST WILL BE HIGHEST SINCE 1993; RECORD FLOODING ALONG MERAMEC RIVER

We PRAY for all in the path of these devastating flood waters!  Here's more - EVACUATIONS CONTINUE IN MISSOURI AS 19 LEVEES VULNERABLE TO FLOODING

The recent "Strong Solar Storm" (G-3) has reached the earth and is causing spectacular Northern Lights and is doing little damage to our Power Grid / GPS / Communication systems. THANK GOD!  Here's the latest - STRONG SOLAR STORM MAY BRING CHANCE TO VIEW NORTHERN LIGHTS

Today, we're packing up and getting ready to hit the road for Florida.  Have sure enjoyed our time here at the  "Retreat Cabin".  The rest has been super!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support.  Cindy and I are ready to head into 2016!  "Bring it on"!!

LATE NIGHT & BREAKING NEWS! - POWERFUL SOLAR STORM COMING TO EARTH

Well, here I am, writing this "rambling blog" just after noon.  Last night, Peter and I drove about an hour to a "near-by" town to watch LSU and Texas Tech "duke it out" in an exciting Bowl Game.

Kick off was not until 9:15pm so...the game finished after 1:00am.  We got back to the cabin around 2:00 and.....the wings and chips kept me awake for the rest of the night.  I came down to write earlier this morning and was just too tired.  Thus, the "Blog Coming Soon" note.

BTW, LSU did prevail, although Texas Tech put up a very good fight....until a tipped pass at the goal-line turned the entire momentum of the game around.  Final Score:  LSU 56-27.  Leonard Fornette was incredible!!

PLEASE forgive me for going on and on about LSU.  I know that some of you could care less but...that will get "Football" out of my system until next year.  So glad that Peter and I could share this experience together.

BREAKING NEWS!

While writing the blog, this News Story just came in moments ago.  A Powerful Solar Storm (G-3) erupted and is heading to earth.  Projected to arrive on earth soon.

We're following this closely.  Here's the story from ABC - POWERFUL SOLAR STORM TO HIT EARTH BEFORE NEW YEAR'S EVE!

Since this story is just developing, I suggest you "Google" in "Solar Storm 12-30-15" to follow these potentially dangerous developments.

Folks, I'm not saying this is "The End of the World", it's just another "Storm" that we may have to deal with.  I pray nothing happens but some "pretty lights" are seen in the Northern skies.

Our time at the cabin is drawing to a close.  We'll be heading back to Florida soon and will be preparing for the "Next Mission"....wherever that might be.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and vital prayer, love and support!!

WRAPPING UP 2015...LOOKING FORWARD TO 2016

It happens every year...about this time.  Looking back and looking ahead.  Spending the last week up here in the mountains, in the cabin, have afforded wonderful opportunities to rest and reflect.

Having over a week of solid rain and storms has been a convenient way to just stay inside and rest.  Usually, we're very busy up here doing chores and little upgrades at the "Retreat Cabin".

In looking back at 2015, Air Mobile circled the globe multiple times (Nepal, India, Nepal, Dominica, Bahamas, Haiti a bunch of times and more....) bringing in clean water and food and hope and the Good News to the thirsty and hungry.

There have been, earthquakes and floods and bad storms.  There usually are.  We're just so THANKFUL to be able to do something to help those in need.

We say this often, but the fact is, we could not do what we do without the help of our Lord Jesus and you!  Your prayer, love and support is truly...

"The Wind beneath our Wings!"  THANK YOU for faithfully standing with us!!!

The sun has finally come out today, though rain is in the forecast for this evening.  The temperature is dropping and it's time to light the fire again.

We'll only be up here for a few more days and we're just enjoying every single minute of it!  God bless you and we pray that 2016 be the absolute best year of your life!!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - This evening, Peter and I will be going to a local town and finding a good place to watch our beloved LSU Tigers take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a wonderful bowl game.

May the best team win...(yes, I'm a bit prejudice and I believe our Tigers will win!!)

"RAINBOW" FUNNEL

Ariana ran into the cabin this morning telling us to come quick and see this strange and beautiful rainbow.  I quickly snapped it and it looks like a "RAINBOW FUNNEL"!

There are still serious Tornado Threats and flooding.  We're PRAYING for those in the path and also for our Lord to CALM THE STORMS!

Here's more - TORNADO & SEVERE THUNDERSTORM THREATS IN THE SOUTHEAST / MAJOR FLOODING FROM TEXAS TO THE OHIO VALLEY

We're just "battening down the hatches" and keeping a close eye on the weather.

Yesterday, we had such a wonderful time at our TN Church.  Something so precious about sweet fellowship around the Word of God and the Love of Jesus!

After Church, we had lunch with our dear friends, Richard and Teresa.  Teresa helped us find the "Retreat Cabin".  THANK YOU, TERESA!

Cindy, Peter and Ariana are going to Gatlinberg today and will be joined by Teresa. They'll be doing some "Tourist Things".

Meanwhile, I'll be at the cabin taking care of some business and getting ready for our "Next Mission".....wherever that might be.

As we're approaching the close of 2015, we can certainly REJOICE at the many doors that had opened for us to go and share the love of God, along with food and water for the hungry and thirsty.  Can't even begin to tell you how THANKFUL we are for you, for joining together with us in this noble quest!

2016 is already shaping up to be quite a year.  We can hardly wait!  So, as I always say and mean from the very depth of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

BETWEEN THE STORMS

After 6 days of continual rain and storms, we had a break yesterday.  Cindy, Ari & Andy (the little dog) seized the moment(s) and went for a nice walk.

More storms coming today with possible tornadoes to the south of us.  One thing is for sure, any signs of "drought" have been washed away!

Now, I must admit, being in a snug, cozy cabin on a rainy day(s) is not so bad.  Plenty of delicious left-overs, many hands of Rummy and wonderful movies.  This is a truly, "restful retreat".

Today, we'll be going to our TN church.  We've missed Pastor Dan and the congregation.  Will be good to see them!

Just the thought of being able to freely and safely go to church is a blessed privilege.  May we never take our freedom for granted!

We're continually reminded of those around the world who face a "death sentence" for simply going to church.  Let us remember to PRAY for those persecuted Christians!

I'm up early this morning, before the sun has risen.  The nearly full moon reveals a partly cloudy sky, possibly giving us some breaks in the rain and storms today.

Looking forward to getting out and about today.  We'll be having lunch, after church, with our dear friends, Richard and Teresa.

Be blessed today and THANK YOU for your faithful and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

SWEET CELEBRATION

Our family just stayed at the cabin on a rainy Christmas day and simply enjoyed each other and the Lord.  What a sweet day!

We hope you had a sweet day in the Lord also.

In America, Christmas is still the #1 Holiday.  I know that there is a lot of "Commericialization" surrounding this wonderful celebration but....it is good that the world acknowledges the birth of Jesus!

May we all open our hearts and receive Him!  Here's the poll report CHRISTMAS STILL #1 HOLIDAY FOR AMERICANS

I must tell you a little story about one of the gifts that we gave to Ariana.  It is the video series "Anne of Green Gables".

I recalled the scene where Matthew & Marilla were debating on whether or not to keep "Anne" (they wanted to adopt a boy).  Marilla, always "practical", said that they did not need a girl.  Matthew then said, "but maybe she needs us".  They chose to keep Anne.

It was that scene that inspired me, when Cindy and I were making our decision to adopt Juliet many years ago.  As we watched the series, I cried like a baby.  Yes, it was just a sweet day in the Lord.

It's still raining up here in the Mountains of East Tennessee and we'll likely just hang around the cabin and eat delicious left-overs.  Oh, this rest and reflection on Jesus coming into the world and coming into our lives is just SWEET!

Again, we PRAY that you have a blessed time simply reflecting on the wonder and grace of our Lord Jesus.  And, as always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It's still the most amazing story ever told!  The Lord of the Universe, became flesh and dwelt among us (born in a humble stable).

He came that we might have life and have life abundantly! This is truly GOOD NEWS!   THANK YOU, JESUS!!

We're all up early this Christmas morning.  Sipping coffee and recalling the Awesome story of our Savior.

We PRAY that you have a blessed Christmas.  Just ponder the story again and open your heart to the love of Jesus!!

A VERY STORMY NIGHT - CHRISTMAS EVE 2016

We knew that bad weather was coming. As the sun set in our valley, we could see the storm clouds brewing.

We had been tracking a deadly line of tornadoes throughout the day and into the evening.

The path kept changing and then we saw that our "neck of the woods" was right in the bulls eye of these storms.

There was an 80% Tor-Con (chance of Tornado) in northern Alabama and coming our way.

As the beginning of this line of storms approached our valley, several bolts of lightening caused jarring thunderclaps that shook our cabin.  We knew it would be a long night.

Reports of major outbreaks of Tornadoes had already been reported and the death toll was rising.

The Weather.Com radar showed the line heading straight for us.  Of course we PRAYED for our safety and all that were in the path of these deadly storms.

Cindy and I planned our "retreat" into a safe place in the cabin.  We put in pillows and blankets and even made a strap to tie ourselves together in the event of a Tornado.

I "made clean water" with a counter-top Ozone/UV purifier while we waited and prayed.

Pounding rain came, along with winds.  We left our big wind-chime out to warn us of very strong winds. We knew that it would blow away in a tornado, but it would also give us a bit of advanced warning.

The wind chime rang throughout the night, but winds never exceeded about 25 mph.

We drifted in and out of sleep awaiting the worst of it.  We slept throughout the rest of the night.  The sun rose and we realized that we "dodged" a big bullet.

We awoke to a nice cup of coffee and a very peaceful valley.  We are very sad for those who lost their lives on this stormy Christmas Eve.  Here's more - MULTIPLE FATALITIES REPORTED AS TORNADOES/SEVERE STORMS SLAM SOUTH

We are NOT out of the woods, and we continue to PRAY.  More bad weather is forecast for today and tomorrow, Christmas day.

So, wherever you are, we pray that you are safe and that in midst of the "storms" in life. we keep our eyes on Jesus!  We celebrate His coming into this world.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!

A STORMY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE

As we enjoy our Christmas retreat, looks like some severe thunderstorms and possible tornado activity is quite likely.

We'll keep the fire going, hot chocolate flowing and keep a close eye on the weather.

Last night, we all watched the first Star Wars Movie.  What an epic and well done story.  Who would have thought that nearly 40 years later, the story would be such a blockbuster!

We might even venture out sometime and go see the "The Force Awakens".  We'll see.

Nothing special going on today.  Just "chillin" at the cabin and enjoying good food, lazy naps and just doing nothing.  The "Rest" is good!!

Hope you're enjoying the Season.  What a lovely time to just sit and reflect on how Jesus came into this world to save the world.  That is the GOOD NEWS!

THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!  You are so appreciated!!!

SMOOTH JOURNEY...TO THE CABIN

Having been on some of the worst and most dangerous roads on the earth, we have a true appreciation for the good roads in America!!

We departed Cocoa, FL yesterday morning and drove 740 miles in 12 hours and arrived safe and sound at the little retreat cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Along the journey, Cindy and Ari watched movies in the back seat.  Our Escape was packed to the ceiling.

Peter helped out with the driving.  Good to have him home from College for Christmas. BTW, he's enjoying F.I.T. (Florida Institute of Technology) and did well on his exams.

Upon arrival, I immediately lit a fire and Cindy made Chicken Fried Rice.  Oh, it's good to be here!!

For the next 10 days, we're going to just chill up here and we're so ready for a break!

In reflecting on 2015, and looking back, we realize how busy we've been.  We've been all over the planet.  Multiple trips to Haiti (10), Nepal twice, India once, Dominica and the Bahamas.  Here's the link to our "Year-End Report" - AIR MOBILE 2015 YEAR-END REPORT

With your help and love and prayer, a lot of thirsty people have gotten clean water and we've been able to bring food to the hungry.  We've been able to share the love of God with those who are hurting.

Plus, we've conducted weekly services at the Orlando Hospital and been part of a number of local outreaches, including the Incredible International Bazaar.

It's good to be BUSY for the Lord, but it's also good to REST in the Lord!  That's where we are now and THANK GOD for it!!

Well, it's chilly and rainy here at the cabin.  We may even have some severe weather coming this week.  We'll just hunker down and keep the fire going and REST!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!  We could not do what we do without your help.  God bless and may you have a wonderful Christmas!!

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS THEN....CABIN BOUND

Air Mobile conducted the 18th Annual Christmas Celebration at the Hospital in Orlando.

Our Team set up and we had 3 separate parties.  It was so much fun! The best gift of all was when 7 Patients accepted Jesus as their Savior!!

From Orlando, we headed right over to our son, Christian's home, to another party to celebrate Jesus.

Oh, there's something so sublime and joyous about watching Grand Children receive gifts and show such happiness.  All Grand Parents reading this blog understand.

Well, we're up early this morning and getting ready to pack our little Ford Escape for a trip to the mountains of East Tennessee where a little retreat cabin awaits us.

We hope to arrive later this evening and we'll get that fire going and the hot chocolate on.  We are so READY for a little quiet time in the mountains.  2016 is shaping up to be quite a year!!

You all have been so faithful with your prayer, love and support. We can't THANK YOU enough!

We pray that you have a blessed time with your family and loved ones.  THANK YOU. JESUS!!!

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS

Yes, in the midst of the chaos and crowded parking lots and so many choices, there is the beautiful message of Jesus coming into this world, to save the world.  THANK YOU, JESUS!!

Ariana and I went out again yesterday to continue our quest of finding good gifts for those whom we love (read on down to learn of this "intrepid journey").

You all, must have been praying!  We had a delightful, stress-free time and found some pretty cool gifts.  THANK YOU for your prayers!!

Speaking of gifts, today, we have around 100 gifts for the hospital residents where we've been Chaplains for over 18 years.

Again, by the generosity of so many, we're able to go and have a grand Celebration of the Birth of Jesus to those who are "locked up".

Cindy and I love this ministry and count it a joy and privilege to be able to visit and minister with those who are suffering.

We're also extremely THANKFUL for the team that so faithfully helps us to do this!

So, on this "balmy" Sunday morning, we're getting ready to head out the door to our Church and then to the Hospital to have a Grand Party celebrating our Lord Jesus!  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

GENEROUS SOULS

The other evening, Natalie, a high school student, dropped off 2 boxes with contents that were made with love.  This young lady, at 13 years old, formed Caring Caps.

Natalie has recruited young people from all over the nation to use their skills and hands to make lovely little caps for babies.

Air Mobile has flown hundreds of these precious little caps to Haiti and beyond.  It is so encouraging to find young people with a heart to help others.

To learn more about Natalie and Caring Caps go to:  CARING CAPS  Also, check out Natalie's precious ministry on Facebook - CARING CAPS - FACEBOOK

Along the lines of "Generous Souls", Doyle, a fellow pilot worked through the chaos of a busy Dallas airport to board a "Stand-By" flight to Orlando.  He got on the last flight and visited us here at Air Mobile.

Doyle has a heart to help a very needy village in Zaire, where he served as a Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) pilot a number of years ago.

Doyle and his wife decided to fund an Air Mobile Rescuer to bring clean water to the thirsty, thereby helping to stop the spread of deadly water-borne diseases.  What a wonderful Christmas gift to give to this community.

After a thorough training on the Rescuer, it was with great joy to present Doyle with an Air Mobile Rescuer.  THANK GOD for generous souls!!

Folks, I must tell you how THANKFUL I am for so many who have a heart to help others.  This is certainly the spirit of Christmas!  "For God so loved the world that He gave....."

Today, Ariana and I will be doing a bit more Christmas shopping and I'm continuing to PRAY that I hit the "target" with my gift-giving!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

TIS THE SEASON....

Christmas shopping is NOT one of my gifts!  Oh, it's not that I don't want to give gifts, it's just that I'm afraid of "Not hitting the Target" (not, as in the store).

I want to give good gifts that will bring joy and I don't always accomplish that.  This often results in a lot of "Indecision and stress"! Yes, I've admitted my fear here.

So, I've recruited some help, Ariana.  She has a heart of gold and is very observant and begins thinking about Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving.

We went out last night and walked and walked and talked and finally came up with a few good gifts.  Our feet were tired and Ari found a little horse to rest on.

We've just begun this Christmas Shopping Journey, and will "steal away" at every moment to continue this quest to find good gifts that will be a blessing.  Besides, I love spending time with our little angel, Aria!!

Of course, we all know the "Real Meaning of Christmas", the Celebration of the Birth of the Lord Jesus!  And that is the bottom line of all of this.  However, on Christmas morning, it's a good idea to have some good gifts under the tree!!

Today, we'll meet with Doyle, the former MAF Pilot who wants to give the gift of clean water to a little village in Africa.  God bless you, Doyle!!

Time to head out into this busy season and I'll work on asking the Lord to remove my "fear of not hitting the target" (regarding gift giving) and will ponder the true wonder of Christmas....and that is JESUS!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support and may you have a blessed time during this wondrous season of celebrating God's great love to us!!

ANOTHER RESCUER...TO THE THIRSTY

On this last mission to Haiti, I received a call from a former MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) Pilot, Doyle.  He wanted an Air Mobile Rescuer for a friend in Africa.  Doyle is now a corporate pilot flying a jet for a TV Network.

I asked him how he found out about Air Mobile and he said he's been reading the blog for the last few years.  I never cease to marvel at how our Lord uses this "rambling blog".  Soon, a village that is desperate for clean water in Africa will soon have a Rescuer.  Praise God!!

Today, one of Premier Water Mules, Doug, will be putting final touches on that Rescuer that will be heading to Africa.  Doyle will fly in tomorrow from Dallas to pick it up.

Cindy and I, today, will be running errands together.  Love spending time with my Cindy.  So, on this beautiful warm December morning in Florida, we go forth in His Name.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

This mission to Haiti was finished.  We had a full stock of Air Mobile Rescuers (10) ready for "action".

We also presented a full array of Air Traffic Control (ATC) equipment and services to OFNAC (FAA of Haiti), that will help Haiti to have the finest ATC System in the Caribbean!

It was time to head home.  There was a bit of weather between Haiti and Cuba and a front that was moving across Florida and....it looked like there was a perfect path of smooth, clear air between the two.

I had agreed to give my good friend of many, many years, Bernard Celestin a ride back to the U.S.  Bernard is a pilot and business man who has many skills and great knowledge of Haiti.

We had a word of prayer and took off.  Climbed to 14,500' and settled down to a beautiful flight home.

Even had a small tailwind.  Love those!  Landed at Fort Pierce, FL right on time.  Then the quick flight up to Titusville, our home base.

After putting the Little Donkey away in the hangar, we headed to Sonny's, a great BBQ place and just sat and enjoyed some delicious food and had some relaxed fellowship.  The last 5 days in Haiti had been pretty intense.

Cindy, Ariana and Peter went to "A Christmas for Ruuska Village" (I was too tired).  Michelle Bordin put on this event to raise money and get vital supplies for Barb and the orphans in Haiti.

Oh, it's good to be home.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PRESENTING UPGRADES TO IMPROVE SAFETY!

Had an encouraging lunch with a business man who has "stepped up to the plate" with his personal resources.

Ralph, the President of Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA) has created a remarkable "life-saving" operation to get the sick and injured to receive medical care with his awesome Helicopter Ambulance service.

Above all, Ralph loves Jesus. Our conversations always seem to focus on the love of God.  We also pray for one another.  We prayed for a meeting that I was to have with the Director General (DG) of OFNAC, the FAA of Haiti,  following our lunch.  We simply asked our Lord for FAVOR & WISDOM.

I was carrying multiple proposals (from the Harris Corporation) for OFNAC to consider. These proposals will significantly increase the safety and reliability for the Air Traffic Control (ATC) System in Haiti.

In answer to our prayer, the meeting could not have gone any better!  I was able to clearly present the proposals and explain the benefits of these much needed upgrades.  Now, it is in the Lord's Hands and we certainly pray for His will to be done!!

As you may know, we have already installed all new Communications in the ATC system in Haiti and we can now speak to the Haiti Controllers from further out than ever in history with crystal clarity!!

But, we still have a ways to go to bring this system up to...what we hope will be the finest ATC System in the Caribbean!

I'm up early this morning enjoying the "Rooster Serenade" that began around 2:00am.  Ahh, it's just part of the wonder of Haiti.  Along with a good cup of coffee, it's a great time to be up to pray and ponder the love of God!  What will this day hold?  I don't know, but it's in His hands!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

FRESH TROOPS WITH SUPPLIES

Yesterday morning, we went to the airport and retrieved 9 young people ready to serve the Lord in Haiti. And....they had plenty of supplies to replenish Barbara's empty shelves.

A young lady, Meagan, has been the chief "recruiter and organizer" of this team.  Many of the young people have been to Haiti before, thanks to Meagan and her heart to help others!

While going to the airport, we noted an unusual number of military police along the route.  We, therefore changed our routing back to the village for security reasons.  The team arrived safe and sound.

The team came bearing great gifts, mainly in the form of baby formula / baby food and much needed supplies.

Their load, along with what the Little Donkey carried in, is beginning to replenish the food depot in the "Village".  Barb is happy!!

I must also tell you how encouraging it is to see young people passionate for serving the Lord and helping others!!  Yes, "Surely, our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"!!

I then, returned to "Joe's Depot" and took care of a couple of Air Mobile Rescuers that needed a little attention to get them ready for service and saving lives by turning very dirty water into very clean water.

After a couple of hours, the inventory was brought back up to 10 units.  My trusty helper, Kevin was on hand for the final count.

These units are ready for any of our 337 operators in Haiti should their unit need service.  In this way, we keep the "clean water flowing"!  Praise God!!

Today, I'll be in meetings with Ralph, the President of Haiti Air Ambulance. We'll be discussing adding a fixed wing aircraft to the Ambulance fleet and just catching up.  Ralph is a solid believer in Jesus and we always have great fellowship.

Then, I'll be in meetings with the Director General of OFNAC (the Haiti FAA).  We'll be discussing further upgrades to the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system.  These will further improve air safety in Haiti.

Please PRAY that these meetings go well and that our Lord leads and guides each step of the way!!

So, from my Haiti desk, I salute you and THANK YOU for your invaluable and very precious prayer, love and support!!!

RAINY DAY IN HAITI

I knew it was going to be a "stormy day" when I awakened.  You could just feel it in the atmosphere.  When it storms in Haiti, it's usually a pretty good one.

So, I pulled out our trusty little blue motorcycle and headed north to Global Outreach Mission to check on some dear missionary friends, the Heady's....before that storm hit.

David & Judy are in the States getting much needed medical treatment, but the resident missionaries gave me a full report.

Please remember to pray for the Heady's as they recover.  They've served faithfully in Haiti for 35 years and hope to return soon.

By the time I got back to our "Village", the storm was moving in and soon, the sky opened up with heavy rains, strong winds and a lot of lightening.

I could only spend a little time in "Joe's Depot" working on water purifiers.  I always have little helpers to assist.

But, I ended up spending a good part of the afternoon in my little room just resting.  Ahh, it was great!

The weather system that had blocked our route earlier in the week was still hanging around the Caribbean and wreaking havoc.  That was part of the storm that we experienced yesterday.

It's time to head out on another mission this morning.  Will tell you more about it tomorrow.  Have to run for now.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

EARLY MORNING REFLECTIONS ON HAITI

Long before the sun rose in Haiti this morning, I lay in a bed with a fan powered by batteries & inverter system, gently blowing the mosquitoes, preventing them from landing on me.

The morning air was cool and my mind went back 37 years, when I first arrived in this country.

Oh, I was so full of faith and just knew that our Lord would do a "Quick Work", and Haiti would be miraculously changed...almost overnight.

Well, 37 years later, there have been some changes...mainly in me.  Oh, I still believe in the power of God to change men's hearts, but...in many ways things are the same as when I found them upon my first arrival.

Human nature is human nature.  As a matter of fact, we can go back thousands of years and find that man does the same stupid things.

The bottom line is...we need God in our lives.  We need His Grace and Power to change our hearts. And after all these years, I'm still coming back to the field where our Lord first called me.  I have learned so much and experienced so much of His Grace all these years in Haiti.

The work that we've done in Haiti has helped us to travel the world and bring the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS and clean water to thirsty and dying souls, often following cataclysmic disasters.

I wouldn't trade my experience in Haiti for anything.  I'm so glad that the Lord called me here and still gives me the strength and courage to return so often.

I've learned to respect and admire the Haitian people in so many ways.  They have taught me so much about survival and overcoming staggering obstacles.  Yes, we've seen God move in so many ways in this country.

Over the years, our ministry has shown the Jesus Film over 300 times in this country.  That tool alone has been used to bring literally thousands to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

We had the grand privilege to introduce and actually start Mission Aviation Fellowship in Haiti 30 years ago.

That ministry is still flying and thriving and bringing hope and life every single day in Haiti.  We love MAF and thank God for their faithfulness and excellence!!

And of course, it was Haiti that inspired Air Mobile to bring clean water to a thirsty world.  We placed the first Air Mobile Rescuer in Haiti following terrible floods that killed thousands 12 years ago.

Now, we have 337 Rescuers spread all throughout Haiti and over 1000 Rescuers in 47 countries.  Again, we've learned so much by supporting and maintaining these units in Haiti.

Haiti has been the perfect "Test Bed" to continually improve and develop this "near miraculous machine".

Only our Lord knows how many lives have been saved by the clean water that these remarkable machines produce.

Today, I'll be bringing several Rescuers back to life.  I love the way we can continually refurbish and refresh these remarkable machines.  Truly, our Lord has helped us mightily with this life-saving project!

Well, I've certainly "rambled" on and on this morning. But there are times that it is good to reflect and give THANKS for all that our Lord has done.

I'm so THANKFUL to have you along with me on this grand journey. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

DECIDED TO GO TO HAITI

Woke up very early yesterday morning.  Had some sweet prayer time with Jesus.

Also, had been tracking a "wicked" weather system that just blocked "passage" to Haiti.

Finally, the system moved out of the way and yes....I decided to make the flight to Haiti.  Kissed my Cindy goodbye and headed out the door.

The Little Donkey had been loaded and fueled for several days.  Arrived at the airport at 3:20am

Took another look at the weather, had a prayer for protection and launched for Haiti....via a stop in South Florida.

I've known Chuck and Annette for several years. They make mini-documentaries telling what missionaries do around the world. They needed a ride to Haiti and...wanted to capture a bit about Air Mobile.

I dropped down into South Florida, "squeezed" them into the Little Donkey and we were off to Haiti.  The flight was just beautiful and smooth.  All of the wicked weather was moving to the east away from our route.

Had a very smooth landing and while taxiing up to park, my right main tire went flat. Thank God, it waited until I was parking.  A friend came right up, had the plane jacked up and the tire off in just minutes after landing.  Yes....."Surely our Lord knows how to deploy His troops".

Have some neat photos of all of this, but Chuck headed right to the field and doesn't have a good connection to send them to me.  Maybe tomorrow.

BTW, the tire tube had a very small leak.  We patched it and had it back on the Little Donkey in short order.

When we arrived at the "Village", Barbara was very pleased and excited about the nice load of baby food and formula.  Her shelves had been empty.  Again, PRAISE GOD for the "Little Donkey" delivery system and generous hearts who help us to help others!

So, between a couple of Rescuers that need attention, Air Traffic Control that could use some more, much needed upgrades and folks that need to hear about Jesus and how He loves them, and...whatever other "Adventures" our Lord has for me here, the next few days will be busy.

As always, I'm so appreciative and thankful for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

EARLY MORNING PRAYER TIME...ahhhh

I've shared with you before, just how much I enjoy getting up early and spending quiet time with the Lord.

Oh, there's no better time to just get alone with Him and enjoy His presence.

It seems that the "roar" in my head subsides in these early morning hours.

Distractions are very low, the phone usually doesn't ring and stores are mostly closed and there's just little that one can do so, enjoy a nice cup of coffee and precious time with Jesus.  It doesn't get much better than that.

Well, I might write a bit more later, but for now, I'll just enjoy the peace and tranquility.  God bless and, as always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

PRAYER & REST WORKS!!

I can't THANK YOU enough for your prayers!!  I spent the day in bed and simply rested.  Feel like a new man this morning.  Will gradually work back into my routine.  Have a pretty long list of stuff to do.

In looking back over our schedule for the past few weeks, Cindy and I have literally been working day & night, or better said...."burning the candle at both ends".

One can, indeed, do that for short periods of time (when the need requires it), but eventually, it does catch up with you.

And, you know, that leads me to the need for God's Wisdom in my life.  There are so many needs and as Jesus said...."The poor you have with you always", we need His direction to know what to do and when to do it.

So, it's that time to head out the door and "knock down" that "To Do List".  As always, and again I mean it from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

THE BLOG FROM BED

Sometimes, one just has to REST.  That's where I am today.  Had a very rough night, couldn't stop coughing.  Got up around 6:30AM, had that much needed cup of coffee and then...just went back to bed.

It's now 9:30AM and the blog will be short.  Could use your prayer.  My Cindy, who is a great nurse, has urged me to stay in bed and let rest and prayer do it's wonderful work.

As I lay in this comfortable bed, I'm reflecting on Matthew 11:28..."Come unto Me...I will give you REST!"

I think I'll go back to sleep.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and extremely appreciated prayer, love and support!!
