THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES....SEPTEMBER 2016A

10-1-16 Saturday 5:33 AM (U.S. Eastern Time) - East Central FL - Air Mobile Home Base - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

MATTHEW NOW A CAT 5!!  THE FIRST SINCE 2007!  TIME TO PREPARE!!

Hurricane Matthew has become a "MONSTER" with winds exceeding 155 MPH!!

I'm THANKFUL to have gotten the Little Donkey out of Haiti when I did.  Wouldn't want to be stuck there without a place to go.

Spoke with Barbara in Haiti last night and she's all battened down and has the "Rescuers" ready to go where needed.

Matthew is moving very slowly and gaining strength.  It's about to take that turn to the north putting Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and  Florida in it's possible "cone of destruction".

Here's more on Matthew! - EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! MATTHEW BECOMES FIRST CAT 5 ATLANTIC HURRICANE SINCE 2007!

Meanwhile, we have 12 Air Mobile Rescuers ready to go here in Florida.  We monitoring this situation very closely and with God's help, will be ready to go as needed.

Several months ago, we were contacted by Calvary Chapel in Merritt Island, FL and asked if we'd be willing to fly a group of "Young Eagles" on a Free Demo Ride in the Little Donkey.

Our answer:  YES!  We love "recruiting" young people to become Missionary Pilots for our Lord!!

The sky is clear this morning (Matthew is still several days out) and we'll be demonstrating how our Lord can use little airplanes to save lives and bring help when most needed.

Yesterday afternoon, Cindy, Ari and I witnessed a beautiful "Double Rainbow".

It was intense and stunning and a reminder of our Lord's Promises!  Captured the moment with this short clip - A GORGEOUS "DOUBLE RAINBOW"!

It's time to head over to the airport and fly the Little Donkey to Merritt Island Airport (about an 8 minute flight from Titusville) and fly those "Young Eagles"!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

HURRICANE MATTHEW...ON MY TAIL!

Matthew has grown into a POWERFUL HURRICANE!  Winds are 100mph and increasing.

It was time to get the Little Donkey out of harms way and head home.  When "wind" passes over a wing...it flies.  Hurricanes can do a lot of damage to airplanes!

The "Mission" to Haiti was complete...for now.  We now have 10 Air Mobile Rescuers refurbished and ready to provide vital clean water where most needed.

Was up early yesterday, completed my Flight Plan and final inspection.  Prayed, fired up the engines and headed home....with Hurricane Matthew "nipping at my heels"!

Hurricane Matthew is forecast to become a Catagory 3 Hurricane (winds 120mph+) and is becoming extremely dangerous for all in its path.  WE PRAY!!  Here's more - MATTHEW RAPIDLY INTENSIFYING TO CATEGORY 2 HURRICANE - HISPANIOLA, JAMAICA, CUBA, BAHAMAS THREAT

Our Lord, again, cleared the most beautiful route for the Little Donkey to go home.  There were storms behind and on each side, but....the path was clear from Haiti to Fort Pierce.  Praise God!!

Along the way, while cruising at 14,500' doing around 200mph, I passed over this spot of beauty.  I've seen it many times, but decided to share it with you.  Here's a little clip - CARIBBEAN BEAUTY ALONG THE WAY

OK, I'll admit it...I LOVE TO FLY!  And, our Lord has given me this wonderful gift.  I'm just very appreciative to Him for letting me do it for His Glory!!

Made the flight from Port-au-Prince to Fort Pierce (to clear Customs) in just over 4 hours.  Then made the short hop to Titusville, where Cindy picked me up.  Had a delicious steak dinner and am just glad to be home!

Now, it's time to "batten down" the hatches at our home base because.....looks like Hurricane Matthew will be heading our way.  THANK YOU for your precious love, prayer and love!!

TS MATTHEW IS KNOCKING ON THE BACK DOOR

Matthew grew into a Tropical Storm yesterday and is slated to become a Hurricane soon.

This storm has found very warm waters and is growing rapidly.

Matthew is currently on a Westerly course, but when it gets near Haiti, it's forecast to make a hard right turn.

Here's the latest - TROPICAL STORM MATTHEW STRENGTHENING IN THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN / WARNINGS ISSUED IN WINDWARD ISLANDS

Again, we PRAY & PREPARE!  We know that storms usually destroy clean water sources.  That is why I'm here preparing for that.

Had a little help in Joe's Depot from little Kimberlee.  This little one will soon be adopted to American parents.

At the end of the day, we had 10 Air Mobile Rescuers "ready for action".

It is still an amazing thing to me, that these 10 small Rescuers can provide fresh, clean drinking water to 10,000 people per day!  Wow, WHAT A MACHINE - WHAT A GIFT!!

Today, I'll be working on protecting the Little Donkey.  When the wings detect a certain amount of "wind" passing over them, whether it's from engines or a hurricane, THEY FLY!

That is why, the best thing to do with an airplane is just get it out of "harms way".  There are no hangars at the Port-au-Prince airport.

Today, we're making sure everything is "battened down" and we're keeping a close eye on the path and track of Tropical Storm Matthew.

Again, I THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support!!!

GETTING READY....WITH CLEAN WATER

There is another storm, barreling from Africa toward the Caribbean and the U.S.  It's current name:  Invest 97L and soon to be named "Matthew".  We're getting ready in Haiti!

Air Mobile maintains an inventory of Rescuer Water Purifiers in Haiti.  These are typically used as replacement units for the 337 purifiers spread throughout Haiti.

However, they can also be used in the event of an Emergency, i.e. Hurricane, earthquake, flood, etc.

One of our main "Missions" in coming to Haiti on a regular basis is to keep this inventory of vital, life-saving devices up.

Yesterday, I spent the day in "Joe's Depot", the home base for Air Mobile's repair and refresh facility.

We delivered our first Air Mobile Rescuer to Haiti in 2004.  Now, they are spread all throughout Haiti.  Each and every operator has a "Life-Time Warranty" on their unit.

If the unit malfunctions for any reason, all they have to do is bring that unit to our facility and we "swap it out" with a refurbished unit right on the spot AT NO CHARGE!  This simple and effective "Warranty" system has kept clean water flowing in Haiti.

I'm glad to be here at this time in preparation for the potential threat of "Matthew", the storm that is barreling our way.  We PRAY that Haiti and all that are in the path of this storm are spared!

BTW, was able to put 5 Air Mobile Rescuers on the "Refurbished Shelf" yesterday.  I love working on the Rescuer.  It is designed to be fully rebuilt quickly and easily.  The Lord is good!!

Those 5 Rescuers can produce enough clean water for 5,000 people per day!

Today, I hope to get several more units up and ready for "action" should that storm hit here.

Took a lunch break and enjoyed watching Rosie admire the little choo choo train that we brought to Haiti in the Little Donkey.

I remember very well when Rosie came to the Village.  She weighed about 8 pounds and was nearly 1 year old.  She could barely move and was very pale and frail.  But even then, her smile would melt your heart.

Now, several years later and with daily physical therapy, Rosie has made amazing progress overcoming many symptoms of Cerebral Palsy.

This is just one example of what our dear Barb does.  She has rescued well over 2000 kids.  Cindy and I have 2 of them, Juliet and Ariana.  What a joy working with this Lady of God!!

Time to get up and get some more Rescuers ready in the event the storm strikes here.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

ANOTHER LOAD & AN AWESOME VIEW FROM MY "OFFICE WINDOW"

While the Little Donkey was getting that front engine overhauled, the supplies for Haiti stacked up.  Once back in the air, it was time to get "caught up".  I love my job!

Had been tracking some weather and saw a nice opening.  The Little Donkey was all loaded and fueled and ready to go.

While Barbara was visiting with us, she selected the next load of supplies that were really needed in the "Village".

Was up early, went to the airport and prayed and did that final top off and inspection.  It was time to head back to Haiti!

I know that I often post a Caribbean sunrise, but folks, it is difficult to describe the majesty and beauty of the glorious show that our Lord gives to us!!

At 15,000 feet and in the tranquil beauty from my picture window of the office, I feel closer to our Lord Jesus and thank Him for His creation!!

Along the route to Haiti, had several large build ups and am so THANKFUL for XM that gives me live satellite images to work around these "Thunder Bumpers".

While next to Cuba, there was one last line of storms to my left.  I worked around them and then, it was clear sailing for the rest of the way to Haiti.  Here's a short clip as I passed them - SCOOTING NEXT TO A THUMPER

Landed in Haiti right on time and was met by my faithful "ground crew".  Have known some of these young men for nearly 40 years.

Yes, they were teenagers when I first employed them to help me unload.  Now, some are gray-haired grandfathers.  We've all grown old together!  They still marvel that we can put such a load in the Little Donkey.

It's always good to be back in Haiti.  Have a lot of work to do.  Last night, I called Cindy and asked her to help me find a way to watch the Debate on-line.

After a few clicks, there they were...Trump and Clinton.  The Debate was certainly lively and at times, not very polished.

While flying to Haiti yesterday, at 15,000' and once past the build ups, I spent some time in prayer for the future of America and for this upcoming election.  Again, may God's will be done!!!

This morning, I'm at my Haiti Desk enjoying a delicious cup of coffee and planning my day.  Will be spending some time in Joe's Depot bringing some Rescuers back to life.

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your vital prayer, love and support!!

TONIGHT:  THE DEBATE!

This may be the most watched "Debate" of all time.  Over 100,000,000 are expected to be tuned in.  The Battle between Trump and Clinton has tightened to a virtual "Dead Heat".

What we need is TRUTH in this turbulent world.  We need a leader that can hear and obey God.

Folks, I know that at times, it seems that events overshadow us, but remember, our PRAYERS ARE POWERFUL!!   You're probably planning to watch the debate and I urge you to PRAY as you VIEW!!

As a matter of fact, I urge you to PRAY throughout this day right up to the Debate.  The "Fireworks" are scheduled for 9:00pm ET.  So much hangs on this election, not only for Americans but for the world.

I received a call from Barbara and her journey took her back to Haiti.  She's safe and sound.  We always love having Barb stay with us.

So, it's time to head out into this day that Lord has made and I'll be adding some serious prayer into my schedule.

And, as always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

THE RACE...A DEAD HEAT & LET THE DEBATES BEGIN & BARB'S ON THE MOVE

This may be the most watched debate in History.  What an election!!  Most polls show that it is now a "Dead Heat" between Trump / Clinton.  What will happen??

I must admit, this election has deep and profound consequences and it's all the more reason for us all to PRAY for God's will to be done!!!

One thing is for sure, the Debates will be both entertaining and insightful.  We'll be watching & PRAYING!!!

As we rarely know when Barb will show up, likewise, it's usually a mystery as to when she'll be on the move. We sure love having Barb with us.  It seems nearly everywhere this lady goes, she has children who have been rescued (2000+!).

Well, yesterday, we put her on a plane for her continuing adventure. We sure love having Barb with us.

Last night, Peter and Christian and I went to our favorite Saturday Night hang out, "Dogs R Us" to watch another incredible football game between, yes, my beloved LSU Tigers and the Auburn Tigers (same mascot).

The game was hard fought and it boiled down to 1 second on the clock.  LSU's Quarterback evaded being sacked and shot a bullet right into the End Zone.  IT WAS CAUGHT!  Ahhh, the THRILL OF VICTORY.

And then, the instant replay and the touchdown was OVERTURNED!  Then, THE AGONY OF DEFEAT.  My emotions are still a bit rattled.  But, life goes on and....it's only a game.

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning, we're getting ready for Church and then the Hospital Chaplain ministry in Orlando.  Thank God for the freedom to preach the Good News of Jesus!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and vital prayer, love and support!!

3 RESCUERS FOR UGANDA & AIR MOBILE JOE ROLLS A QUAD

Sometimes, delivering Air Mobile Rescuers can be just downright fun, if not a bit dangerous.  Such was the case yesterday.

Our great friend and "Water Mule", Marty is donating 3 more Rescuers for a mission in Uganda.  I agreed to deliver the units at Marty's "Race Track" in New Smyrna, FL.

He handed me the keys to one of his "Super Quads" and we took off in cloud of sand and speed.

These machines have been heavily modified and have a "suspension" from heaven.  You can literally fly on them and they just absorb the bumps.

Marty is a professional Race Car driver, having driven 6 Baja 1000's and multiple Daytona 24's.  I'm certainly no match for him, but we had a blast.

Each time around, I kept testing the limits as to what the green racer could do.  Then, I found where "not to go".

The quad dug in and rolled.  Thank God for a good seat belt and helmet.  Nothing was hurt but my pride.  Here's a short clip of us rolling the Quad back over.  STANDING THE QUAD THAT JOE ROLLED BACK UP

After that fun experience, it was time to "Deliver the Rescuers".  We're so THANKFUL for Marty's heart to help others in need in Uganda!

Some "deliveries" are more fun than others.  This was one of those!!

Today, will be going to the airport to let Barb choose what she wants us to bring into Haiti.  We've all enjoyed having this "intrepid" Lady of God with us.

Time to head out.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

A POLITICAL SWIRL

Things are definitely "heating up" in America.  The much awaited and highly anticipated debates between Trump and Clinton will be Monday evening.  We can hardly wait!!

Cindy and I both agree...."Never seen anything like this election".  Folks, we urge you to PRAY as never before for our Lord to have His Way!!!

Meanwhile, at the airport, I often witness such memorable events.  Here, our mechanic Paul an Air Force Veteran, who has been "turning wrenches" on airplanes for 52 years meets another Veteran Air Force pilot who flew Mustangs and B-29's and so many more.

It was just great watching these two "remember".  Love it!

BTW, Ross Evers, the Air Force Veteran who flew and trained so many other pilots came to the airport with "Gary Tennis Balls" and brought a tremendous load of baby food / formula and vital supplies for Haiti.  We're blessed!!

Time to get on with this day.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

IN HAITI'S DARKEST HOUR....WHERE DID THE MONEY GO??

Here's a "must read" about the "Billions of $$" designated for Haiti that never got there!!

Folks, I know, from personal experience that there is tremendous truth about the corruption and graft spoken of in this article.

It's very disturbing!!  You can draw your own conclusions. Here's the story - FORMER HAITIAN LAWMAKER DENOUNCES CLINTON FOUNDATION GRAFT

WOW, what's happening in Charlotte, NC?  Another police shooting.  Conflicting information on whether the victim had a gun or a book.  May the TRUTH come out and peace rule in that troubled city.

Here's the latest on the riots in Charlotte and let's PRAY for that city that is now considered a "War Zone"!!  GOVERNOR CALLS OUT NATIONAL GUARD AS CHARLOTTE POLICE SHOOTING PROTESTS CONTINUE

Meanwhile, life goes on.  Haven't heard if the 2 "Rescuers" (water purifiers) have been freed from Customs in Mangua, Nicaragua.  We're still praying!

Cindy and Barbara have been "hitting" Barb's favorite stores....Walmart and the Dollar Store. We love having Barb with us!

Today, we'll be delivering 3 more Air Mobile Rescuers for Kenya!  Let the clean water flow!!  Time to hit the road and deliver those units.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A CALL FROM "RAMBO IN THE BLUE DRESS" & 2 RESCUERS HELD IN CUSTOMS IN NICARAGUA

The phone rang.  It was Barb's daughter.  Barb would be landing at Orlando International in 2 hours.  Did we have a bed for her?  That's the way we usually get "notified" of this intrepid Missionary's arrival.  Of course, we ALWAYS have a place for Barb.

Then, minutes later, an urgent e-mail came through from Stacey, the missionary arranging for 2 Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers to be brought into Nicaragua.  Customs was holding them in Managua and we need a letter "pleading" for their release.

A relatively "calm" day got very exciting. Before I could write the letter, had to go pick up Barb who was patiently waiting on the curb for me.  Got back around midnight and this morning, up early writing that letter to Customs seeking the release of those 2 Air Mobile Rescuers.

They are destined for a remote Village in Nicaragua that desperately needs clean water.  PLEASE PRAY that the heart of the Customs Agents in Nicaragua will be touched and they will let those Rescuers do their job of bringing clean water to thirsty people!!

We're asking the Lord to take this situation and bring Glory to His Name.  We're praying for the Customs Agents to find Jesus as their Lord & Savior.  Please join together with us!  Indeed, PRAYER CAUSES MIRACLES!

I'm reminded of Romans 8:28.  ALL THINGS work together for the good....We're believing for our Lord to do something very special with this situation in Nicaragua.

Air Mobile has been blessed to place over 1000 Rescuers in 48 countries.  We have faced this battle before and seen our Lord work so many miracles through them all.

THANK YOU for joining together with us with your precious and powerful prayer, love and support!!

GOT HIM....DID HE WORK ALONE???

Bravo to the Police, who did a great job of rapidly apprehending Ahmed Kahn Rahami...."THE NEW YORK BOMBER"!

He is now in custody and being questioned.  What will the authorities find out?  Did he do these heinous crimes alone?  We will see....maybe.  Here's the latest - ISIS AMONG US

Now, when Cindy and I saw this story about 800+ Immigrants slated for "DEPORTATION" were "ACCIDENTALLY" granted "CITIZENSHIP!!  Wow....REALLY!!!

Here's the story - 800+ IMMIGRANTS (SLATED FOR DEPORTATION) "MISTAKENLY" GRANTED CITIZENSHIP!!

This is particularly painful to us as we've been working on getting our precious daughter Ariana's Passport for over a year.

We adopted Ariana from Haiti 7 years ago!!  I'm not even going to tell you the long and grueling process that we went through!!

The system is dreadfully slow and we've yet to receive Ari's passport.  We've done each step "by the book".  We wait.

But....800+ dangerous immigrants were mysteriously, mistakenly granted citizenship.  That's just wrong!!

So, today, we patiently wait (for that passport) and work on the ever present "To Do List".

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

TURBULENT DAYS!!
Bombs exploding in New York / New Jersey...brutal stabbings in Minnesota (with shouts of Allah as he stabbed innocent victims!).

The United Nations is meeting in New York city and the drama is unfolding as I type.  Here's what's happening - ISIS CELEBRATES NYC EXPLOSIONS!

Investigators are "Narrowing" the search to a 28 year old (Ahmed Kahn Rahami).  5 are in Custody related to this "person of interest".

We PRAY that the perpetrators are apprehended immediately!!  Here's the latest - INVESTIGATORS "NARROW" FOCUS ON SUSPECT IN CHELEA BOMBING

Certain "Politicians" are saying that this rash of bombings "prove" that we are winning the war against terror.  REALLY??????  Dear Lord, please give us leaders that SPEAK THE TRUTH & SOLVE PROBLEMS!

OK, I'll admit that I'm pretty upset about this latest attack on America.  It's a call to PRAY for our leaders, both current and future.

Regarding some Good News....Yesterday was an exceptional day of ministry at the Orlando Hospital.  Our teams saw a true Harvest of Souls coming to the Lord Jesus as Savior!

We are so THANKFUL for the FREEDOM that we do have in America to PREACH THE GOSPEL!

So today, we'll go about our business and seek to do the will of God in our lives.  We're very THANKFUL for your precious prayer, love and support!!

YOUNG EAGLES

In a cooperative effort between Calvary Chapel of Merritt Island and the Young Eagles (EAA), several of us will be offering FREE Airplane Rides to prospective or interested youth who have a desire to fly for the Lord.

Had a productive meeting yesterday with some fellow Aviators (OLDER EAGLES).  Our mission:  To encourage youth to consider "Mission Aviation".

Calvary Chapel will be having it's Annual Mission Conference on October 1-2 and part of the program will involve an Intro to Mission Aviation and a FREE RIDE.  Here's the link - 2016 CALVARY CHAPEL MISSIONS CONFERENCE

I hope you can come.  We can use some help at the Merritt Island Airport on Saturday morning (October 1st).  If you'd like to assist us in the "Recruiting Mission", give me a call at:  321-544-7757.  It'll be a lot of fun!!

After that good meeting, Cindy and Ari and I just chilled out and swam and rested.  Yesterday evening, we had another "Gathering" at our favorite Saturday night hang out, "Dogs R Us".

We watched a very close game between our beloved LSU Tigers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.  What cliff hanger!  Final Score - LSU 23 - Bulldogs 20.

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning, we're getting ready for Church and then our 4 services at the Orlando Hospital.  We're THANKFUL for the freedom to Worship God and share His love!

This is no small thing and we're truly THANKFUL for our Country that allows this and for the Open Doors set before us.

THANK YOU for your standing so faithfully with us with your precious prayer, love and support!!

PETER SOLOS

OK, I'll admit it.  I'm pretty proud...of my son, Peter.  Yesterday, he took to the air on a blustery afternoon and "nailed" three beautiful landings, his FIRST as Pilot in Control (PIC).

You could see the joy on Peter's face when he taxied up and greeted his instructor, Brian and his proud Dad.  Way to go Peter!!

Speaking of Brian, he has done a superb job of training Peter.  We're so THANKFUL to have Brian as our flight instructor.

He truly has a gift of "Teaching" and our Lord has deployed him right into our Air Mobile Camp!

If you're interested in quality flight training and preparation for service on the Mission Field, simply jot me an e-mail, and I'll connect you to Brian.  He's the BEST!!  (My e-mail - airmobilejoe@gmail.com).

After that wonderful afternoon, Cindy and I invited Peter and his friend, Ashley to join us for dinner.  It was a great celebration.  BTW, Ashley is a sweet and lovely young lady.

This morning, I'll be meeting with fellow aviators who are interested in encouraging young people to pursue a career in Mission Aviation.  This is a noble quest.

We're so pleased to have you on-board with your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

WHO IS KARL??

Looks like Africa has spawned another storm. It's already a Tropical Storm with 45mph winds and a long way to go.

Tropical Storm Karl could become a very strong and dangerous storm.   We're keeping a close on this one.

TS Karl's path could certainly affect the Caribbean and the U.S. East Coast.  Here's more on TS Karl - TROPICAL STORM KARL FORMS, EXPECTED TO GAIN STRENGTH IN TREK ACROSS ATLANTIC

Paul, our mechanic, and I are still running out a glitchy little problem with one of the 14 fuel tanks in the Little Donkey.  We're making progress and hope to have it solved soon.

Meanwhile, Cindy and I are just enjoying this quiet time (for the moment).  Still pondering the message "Who is Jesus".  The more I look to Jesus the better things go.  It's just that simple.

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!!

WHO IS JESUS?

That was the title of my message to the O.W.L.S. (Older - Wiser - Loving - Saints).  Of course they all know who Jesus is, but, my question brought us all to looking at some of the infinite facets of God's Love for us.

Oh, it was fun spending the morning with these precious saints of God!!

The thing that Cindy and I absolutely love about this group, is their years and years of serving and loving Jesus.

These folks know how to PRAY.  Air Mobile is blessed by having these folks on-board with us.  It's always a JOY being with them.

Today, I'll be at the airport with Paul, our mechanic, going over the Little Donkey after this last flight to Haiti.  The sweet little bird flew like a dream. The front engine is now fresh and strong.

And, today, will be pondering the many "facets" of Jesus, just like peering into a beautiful diamond.

Every time I look at Jesus, another burst of glory and love comes my way.  Mmmm, should spend more time "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith"!!

So, as always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

WELL, IT DID BECOME A TROPICAL STORM (JULIA) & A MORNING WITH THE O.W.L.S.

That same weather system that "dogged" me from Haiti and dropped a bunch of rain and blew like crazy has become, Tropical Storm Julia.

It's now hugging the coast at Jacksonville, FL and will hit Georgia next.  One thing is for sure, any drought problems we've have had have been washed away.

Here's more on TS Julia - TROPICAL STORM JULIA - A FLOOD THREAT TO THE SOUTHEAST

This morning, Cindy and I have the distinct privilege and honor to spend the morning with the O.W.L.S. "Older - Wiser - Loving - Saints" (name changed from Senior to Saints).

Oh, we love this group of Seasoned Saints!  These folks know how to PRAY & they truly LOVE THE LORD!

I, like many of you, have been following the Campaign for President here in the U.S.  Sometimes, it's difficult to watch as the Truth seems to be in short supply!

I have a word for Hillary....."YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH & THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE"!!

We find ourselves PRAYING for our country as never before.  This election is so important and Cindy and I encourage you to PRAY for America together with us and for TRUTH to RULE and REIGN in the CAMPAIGN!!

So, time for Cindy and I to head over to speak with O.W.L.S.  It's always blessed time.  And...THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

OVERSIZE CHALLENGE

What do you do when you have Haiti supplies that are just too large for the Little Donkey?  Call upon our fellow Mission Aviation friends at MFI (Missionary Flights International).

We had some large speakers for one of our missionary friends in Haiti and they just wouldn't even go through the door of the Little Donkey.

The MFI DC-3 can handle them with no problem. Yahn is 6'2", so you can see just how large those speakers are.

So, we loaded our "Oversize" cargo, wrapping it in a large tarp, and drove it down to Ft. Pierce, FL.  Thunderstorms were approaching FL and we wanted to keep the speakers dry.  The staff at MFI was extremely courteous and helpful.

BTW, MFI operates (in my humble opinion), the finest DC-3 Operation in the world.  THANK YOU, MFI for being there for us!

After we got back, the storms began and it looks like they'll be with us for a while.  Hope this thing doesn't grow into a Tropical Storm!  We've had enough rain and storms for a while.

So, today, we'll dodge the storms and get on with a slew of errands.  Have a long "To Do List".

As I say every single day, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

Yesterday, I PRAYED and asked our Lord to help me figure it out.  I sat down and it took hours of searching and re-arranging the settings until...I finally got all of those "gremlins" out and now, the blog is readable.  Praise God & THANK YOU for your patience!

9-12-16 Monday - NOTE! I had a "gremlin" get into the blog and it was putting in some strange background that made the "Rambling Blog" very difficult to read.  I just spent several hours working on it and it appears that I've finally gotten the text and background all straight.

So sorry that it has been hard to read.  And...to those who reached out to me and told me of the problem, THANKS!!

ANOTHER ANNIVERSARY

Yesterday marked the 15th Anniversary of the tragic attack on America.

But...we also celebrated another Anniversary yesterday.  It was a joyous celebration of the 1 Year Anniversary of the 1st Service at Banana River Baptist Church.

I recall so well when our good friend and great "Water Mule", Doug, suggested to we put a "Church for Rent" sign out at our Air Mobile HQ Building.

Then, came the call from Pastor Lenny.  Well, he and his lovely wife, Brandi planted a Church that is thriving and growing in leaps and bounds and God's Amazing Grace.

What a joy to attend that First Anniversary Service.  Lenny is, with God's help, ushering souls into the Lamb's Book of Life every Sunday.  Go Lenny & Brandi!!

BTW, the Church was filled to capacity (standing room only).  Lenny drove the Church Bus in the local neighborhoods before service and brought 42 Kids to Church and many parents followed!!

We're so proud of Lenny and Brandi and so THANKFUL that Doug suggested we put that sign out.  After that amazing and blessed service, we headed to Orlando to conduct our 4 services at the Hospital.

Can't begin to tell you what a joy it is to do this!!  We, of course, can't give any details in respect the Confidentiality Rules, but...we can say that new names have been written down in the Lamb's Book of Life!

After those great services, we celebrated.  I had a monster, meat Pizza at the Mellow Mushroom.  Ari had a slice.

Being back in the U.S., I'll be tending to a lot of business and running errands all over the place.  Good to be home!

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

15 YEARS AGO TODAY.... & DANCING WITH STORMS

Today, we remember.  I'm sure you can remember exactly where you were when the news came to us of the horrible attack on America.

As I watch the images flash across the TV this morning, my heart breaks and the emotions are rekindled.  This is a sad day and one that I, personally will never forget.

I'm left with the simple admonition to PRAY for the leaders of our country and for all of those who lost loved ones on that fateful day.  The scars are deep.  Please HELP us, Oh Lord!

Yesterday, the "Mission" to Haiti came to an end (for now).  It was time to head home.  The main challenge was finding a way between the storms.

I spent some time on the phone with Miami Flight Service (FSS) and it appeared that some of the storms were moving to the west (over Cuba) and the other main storms were moving to the north over the Bahamas.  Could a "corridor" be opening for me?

Again, so glad for those 14 fuel tanks.  That extra fuel gives me options (with many alternate airports along the route).  I'd been tracking this system for the last few days and...after prayer, decided it was time to head home.

Crawled into the Little Donkey, fired up the engines and pushed the throttles forward.  As I climbed to 14,500', and still had a phone signal, was able to snap a few final shots of the storms and saved them in my phone.  Would be analyzing them very carefully as I approached the storms ahead.

And....just as I had prayed, our Lord did it again.  He opened the most beautiful "corridor" right between those 2 systems.

Folks, I NEVER take this for granted.  Having made literally thousands of international flights over these last 45 years of flying, I've seen our Lord do this so many times.  THANK YOU, JESUS!

Even got a little "push" along the way.  At one point, even got up to 186 knots (214 mph).

After landing, I met with Cindy, Ariana and her dad, Ron.  We celebrated the safe flight home with a delicious steak dinner at our local Durango's.

Yes, it's good to be home, but today, that joy is mixed with sadness as we remember 9-11.  While some are disrespecting this great country, we say...GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

UH OH, MY CELL PHONE DIED....

Never made it into Joe's Depot yesterday.  Had a change in plans due to a "dying" cell phone.  No, it's not my main cell, but my "back-up" Haiti cell phone.  The little phone finally "died".

Made the journey into town without incident and went to the airport where one can readily buy a replacement phone from Digicel (the local provider).

The transaction went smoothly and the replacement cost me a grand total of $50 USD.  Not a bad deal.

Don't even want to think about being without a cell phone.  It's absolutely amazing how dependent we have become on them!

Yes, I'll admit it... have become pretty pathetically dependent upon the cell phone.

And, all of this anxiety over my "back-up" Haiti cell.  Guess I'm going to have bring this matter before the Lord and ask His help to guide me when and if I truly lose my cell phone.

I'm comforted with the Scripture..."I will never leave you or forsake you" and we don't need a cell phone to contact Him!!

Well, with those encouraging Words, I can face the challenges that inevitably come up daily (even a dying or lost cell phone LOL).

Time to get on with this day that our Lord has made.  Will rejoice and be glad in it.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

DOES IT WORK??

13 years ago, we placed the first Air Mobile Rescuer in Barb's Village.  Since that day, literally thousands who have come through the Village have drunk Rescuer water.

Our little "Near Miracle" machine makes clean water every day and every night for the residents here and.....far beyond!

I can tell you this; this is the water that I drink here in Haiti and diarrhea is no longer a factor here.  Yes, this remarkable machine WORKS!!

Barb's Village has been the "Home Base" for Air Mobile for over 20 years.  We maintain 337 Rescuers that are placed all throughout Haiti.  This is one of the main reasons that Air Mobile comes to Haiti on a regular basis...to keep that CLEAN WATER FLOWING!!

Today I'll be working in "Joe's Depot" bringing a couple of Rescuers back to life.  Our system is simple.

If ANY Rescuer fails to function properly, the operator is directed to bring the unit back to our "Home Base" in Barb's Village and ON THE SPOT, the unit is replaced with a refurbished unit....AT NO CHARGE!!

The kids in the Village are the true treasures here.  Every time I either leave or come back, there is a delegation to either send me off or greet me home.

It warms the heart and strengthens our "mission" here in Haiti.  Here's a short clip of a typical "send off". BARB'S KIDS SENDING OFF

Time to head into that little "Depot" and bring a couple "Rescuers" back to life.  THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A STORMY DAY IN HAITI

Was up early yesterday and made the run to the airport.  It was good to see that the Little Donkey made it through the night.  The "Anchor" system worked.

But...the "stormy weather" was not over.  Currently, this region of the Caribbean is just covered with storms and thankfully, they're not (for the moment) growing into "troublemakers"!

As you can see from this image taken yesterday, Haiti is nearly 100% covered with thunderstorms.

Getting around town can be very challenging.  Haiti is usually in some sort of "Grid-lock" in good weather.  But in bad weather...you can only imagine!

I had to get up to Petionville, just south of Port-au-Prince to meet a dear friend, Leo.  Leo was a past Director General (DG) of OFNAC (the FAA of Haiti).  We share a heart to minister with Haitians who are having an extremely hard time in the Dominican Republic (DR).

We discussed ways that we can work together to bring help to those who have been "rejected" by the DR and Haiti.  Many are "stuck in a no man's land".  With God's help, we'll be able to do something to help these who are suffering so.

After that good meeting with Leo, I fought through the stormy weather and insane traffic for another meeting with OFNAC on Search & Rescue (SAR).

The meeting went well as we're moving closer and closer to seeing Haiti have a strong SAR Program.  Again, with our Lord's help, we'll see this become a reality.

Today, will be in more meetings.  Looks like the stormy weather has diminished (for now), so it'll be easier to get around.

Just hoping to not run into any "Manifestations" (riots) as things are still quite tense as the "Election Season" is in full swing here in Haiti.  Again, extremely blessed to have you on-board with your prayer, love and support!!

A "STORM" IN THE NIGHT IN HAITI

Had been following a weather system to the southeast of Hispaniola for several days.  Last night, it "arrived" in Haiti.

These kind of storms usually diminish at night, but...they can also grow in intensity.  We saw that with the "long-lived" Hermine that lasted over 3 weeks.

At the general aviation airport in Port-au-Prince, there are very few "tie-down" spots.  One must improvise to secure ones aircraft.

I already had "chocked" the wheels when I arrived several days ago.  But, a little extra "securing" would be a good thing with the storm coming.

It was in the late afternoon that I decided to make the run to the airport to secure "Ti Burik".  The problem with this plan is that I'd have to travel some dangerous roads at night.

While driving, I called Cindy (have a hands-free blue tooth) and asked for prayer.  Then I called my best friend, Joe (who introduced me to Jesus 45 years ago) and recruited him for prayer.  The trip to the airport went smooth and quiet.

Upon arrival, all of the gates were closed and locked except...one little side gate that was tied with wire.  I entered and found the lone security officer, Augustine.  I explained my plan and he agreed to help.

As I said earlier, there were no "tie-down" rings available but....there were several large, heavy cement blocks under an old Convair 540.  We drug them to the Little Donkey, which was no small feat.  Those things are heavy.

In addition to wheel chocks, we "anchored" the Little Donkey with the big heavy cement blocks.  Here, Augustine poses next to Ti Burik.

Now, it was time to make the "run" back to the Village.  It was pitch black dark and the storm was rapidly approaching.

Then I saw them, small U.N. Convoy on a nightly patrol.  I quickly tucked in with them and began to trek back to the village.

Here's a YouTube clip of the ride home - FOLLOWING A UN CONVOY IN HAITI

I made it back to the village safe and sound last night. BTW, the storm did diminish somewhat and did not produce any high winds.  However, it was much better to be safe than sorry.  I also slept better knowing that we did what we could to protect Ti Burik.

So, the "Adventure" continues today.  Will be all over the place in meetings and ministry.  Our Lord is so good!  Again, I'm extremely THANKFUL to have you on-board with your precious prayer, love and support!!

LIVE!  FROM THE HAITI DESK

It was time to fly to Haiti.  Had a lot of much needed supplies for Barb and the babies.  Hermine had delayed the departure for nearly a week.

Now, there was only 1 big storm cell, right off the coast of Florida and...it was slowly moving out of the way.

Arrived at the airport at 4:45 AM.

The Little Donkey was loaded and fueled.  The flight plan was filed and had a final word of prayer asking our Lord to continue to move that big cell out of the way.

Fired up the engines and pushed the throttles forward.  Climbed to 15,000' and saw the answer to my prayer.  That big cell slowly drifted right out of my way.

Can't begin to tell you how beautiful are the Caribbean sunrises.  Here, you can see a couple of the storms just to the east of my route to Haiti.

The 5+ hour flight was smooth, but bucked some pretty strong headwinds the whole way.  So glad for the 14 fuel tank configuration!!

Again, our Lord made a way!  Upon arrival, began the unload.  The Little Donkey was packed to the rim!

BTW, the newly "Topped" front engine did great.  The 6 new cylinders performed very well.

Even my Haitian helpers at the airport are constantly amazed at what a big load the Little Donkey can carry!  So am I!!

You know, I never, ever take it for granted to fly a 46 year old airplane, right through the Bermuda Triangle with multiple storms to dance around.  Our Lord is good!  I've been doing this for 38 years and love it!!!

So, here I am,  at the "Haiti Desk" in our base camp.  Barb was certainly pleased for the replenishment of baby formula and food and supplies.  What a joy to be here!!

Have a full schedule this week.  Will be all over the place. Haiti is getting ready for elections and the tensions are high.

So, as I ask for every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

SAINT TERESA

No matter what side of the religious fence one is sitting on, Mother Teresa, now Saint Teresa, was a remarkable person.  This loving, caring lady of God changed and impacted more lives than  we can imagine.

I am pleased that the Catholic Church and truly, the rest of the world has honored her memory and work.  May her sacrificial, giving life be an example to us all.  Here's more - POPE FRANCIS DECLARES MOTHER TERESA A "SAINT"

It looks like Hermine, the storm wouldn't go away, has finally departed to the east and continuing to head that way.  Many folks are breathing a sigh of relief!  Here's the latest - HERMINE HEADING OUT TO SEA

What are you doing on this Labor Day?  We're thankful for somewhat clear skies here in Florida.

I'll be heading to the airport to make sure that Little Donkey will be ready to gallop when the time comes.  So glad to get that front engine all "topped off" (replaced all 6 cylinders with factory new ones).  Our Lord has given us a wonderful tool, with which to serve Him and bring help to others in need.

I love getting up early and having a cup of coffee.  The skies are crystal clear and stars are very bright.  A lovely time to get up and reflect on the goodness of our Lord.  May you blessed today and THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

WHAT TO SAY??

I have a routine.  Get up in the morning.  Thank God for giving me another day.  Put the coffee on and write a blog.

Often, have absolutely no idea what I'm going to write about...and I'm sure that shows in this "Rambling" blog.

It seems, I've "journaled" for most of my life.  Have documented quite a few of our missions but....

Just before midnight on January 12, 2010, I sat down and penned a blog about the devastating and tragic Haiti earthquake.

It was a breathless, quick one telling that in just a few hours, I'd take off for Haiti.  We were actually, the first private plane to land there on January 13th (my birthday).  It's a day I'll never forget.

Now, I'm not going to say anything more about those tragic moments. What I will say is that this "Rambling Blog" has gone on every single day, uninterrupted, since  since January 12, 2010.

Often, nothing special is going on and I just tell what's going through my mind and heart.  The remarkable thing is a number of you read this crazy, rambling blog every single day.

I'm blessed and honored that you'd join me on this journey through life and above all, I'm THANKFUL for your prayers!

Together, we've been around the world many times in this 6.5 year journey.

We've been to Haiti regularly and reached to the Philippines, India, Nepal, Ecuador, Japan, Dominican Republic, Dominica, Bahamas and many other countries that have suffered tragedy.

With your help and love, we've been able to bring clean water and hope and the Good News of Jesus to many.  BTW, we've been able to place 1000+ Air Mobile Rescuers in 48 countries!!

So, on this beautiful Sunday, I pen another rambling blog and share my heart with you and THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!  Time to get on with this day and see where our Lord leads.

CLEAR SKIES OVER FLORIDA - HERMINE CHURNS ON

It's been a while since we've seen "Clear Skies" here in Florida.  Hermine has come
and gone (from Florida) breaking a "long standing" record of NO HURRICANES FOR 11 YEARS.

This Storm has been on "Radar" for a long time and....it's not over!  Hermine, after lashing Georgia and the Carolina's is moving off shore.

It may be "recharging" for another punch.  Time will tell.  Here's the latest - TROPICAL STORM HERMINE MOVING OFF THE EAST COAST; DANGEROUS TIDAL SURGE FOR VIRGINIA TIDEWATER

Cindy and I felt it important to stay "close" to home in the event of severe damage and the need to deploy Air Mobile Rescuers.  We're thankful that the crisis has passed....for now.

Besides, it's been rather nice "hanging around" home and watching the weather channel.

Also, today is the real beginning of College Football season. Peter & Christian will be joining me this afternoon at our favorite hangout, "Dogs-R-Us".

This has been a tradition with the Hurston Boys for years and we begin another season today.

There's going to be a real "Shootout" at Lambeau Field between LSU (our team!) the Wisconsin (Doug's Team).  We have a friendly wager on how this game will turn out.

So, on this sunny Saturday morning, it's time to head out and do some clean-up chores (a lot of debris has been blown around) and then to "Dogs" for the game.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

HURRICANE HERMINE SLAMS FLORIDA / TROPICAL STORM HERMINE HEADING UP THE EAST COAST

After 11 years, it happened.  Florida was struck by a Hurricane.  Millions are without electricity, waves are crashing, winds are howling and Hermine moves through north Florida and on to the U.S. East Coast.

We're on the southside of Hermine and getting blown around, but things are not too bad, though the threat of tornadoes is real and present.

Again, we've been watching this same storm for nearly 2 weeks and folks have had plenty of time to prepare and plan their strategy.

At this point, I don't think anyone has lost their life.  Praise God!!  Here's the latest - HURRICANE FORCE WINDS IMPACT FLORIDA COAST

Looks like Hermine is far from over and will be around well into next week.  We'll continue to keep a close eye on this "long- lived" storm.

Yesterday, Cindy and I had the distinct privilege to speak to the Missions Prayer Committee for First Baptist of Merritt Island.  We love these precious Saints and so appreciate their love and prayer!!

So, today, will just be staying close to home base and monitoring the Weather Channel.  I must say, it will be nice when all this messy weather clears out of here.

So, as I say every day, and mean with all of my heart....THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

HERMINE WILL SLAM INTO FLORIDA & THEN "DRAG" UP THE EAST COAST...GET READY

We've been TRACKING this storm (Tropical Storm Hermine) since August 21st and it's just growing in strength.  This Storm is NOT going away!!

By this evening, Hermine will likely gain Hurricane status and should actually make landfall in the Panhandle of Florida.  It''ll continue to strengthen and pass over Florida, then "drag" up the U.S. East Coast.  This storm can do a lot of damage, specifically Flooding and the threat of Tornadoes is very real!

I must say, the "Forecasters" have "nailed" this storm.  Their projections have been extremely accurate and have given us all a lot of time to PREPARE!!

Here in East Central Florida, we've been getting A LOT of rain and have experienced some outer bands of wind from Tropical Storm Hermine.

Things should heat up tonight and IF the forecasters are right, the storm should pass just to the north us. Again, we're PRAYING for all in the path of this storm.

Speaking of "Storms".  Donald Trump made a "Whirlwind" trip to Mexico, met with the President of Mexico and made it back in time last night to give his much anticipated speech on Immigration.  What a day!!

Cindy and I listened to Trump's Speech and he certainly gave clear and specific details as to what he would do as President.  It is "refreshing" to hear points brought out that many politicians have avoided.  May God have His way in this crucial upcoming election!!

This morning, Cindy and I will be speaking at First Baptist Merritt Island to the "Missions Prayer Committee".  We love speaking to these Saints who know how to PRAY!!

It's time to head out into this rainy and blustery morning.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!
