HAVING TEA WITH BARB & BON VOYAGE

We've have the privilege, and just good time, to have our intrepid Barb (AKA:  Rambo in the Blue Dress) with us for the past week.  WE LOVE BARB!!!

This morning, we bid farewell to this intrepid Lady of God.

For those of you who may be new to this "Rambling Blog", Barb is our hero.  She has "rescued" over 2500 children and so much more!

As a matter of fact, we would not have Ariana, nor would she likely be alive without Barb's courage, ingenuity & pure love.

Ari is an amazing gift to our family.  THANK YOU, BARB!

So, this morning, we bid farewell and wish her Bon Voyage as she flies back up to New York.

Meanwhile, we're working on gathering all of the components to assemble Air Mobile Rescuers....getting ready for the 2018 HURRICANE SEASON!

So, it's time to head to the airport and drop Barb and then get to work.

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

GEARING UP.....FOR HURRICANE SEASON

Before we know it, the 2018 Hurricane Season will be here.

2017 was horrific.  Millions have been affected and....the "Season" is right around the corner.

We all remember the devastation to Houston, Puerto Rico and so many Caribbean Islands.

Air Mobile was there bringing clean water to the thirsty and desperate, THANKS to your prayer, love and support!!!

The 2018 Season is projected to be above average, so we're getting ready with Air Mobile Rescuer water purification systems.

Now is the time to do this!  We need your help with PRAYER & $$.

Our goal is to have 25 Air Mobile Rescuers fully FUNDED & READY TO DEPLOY on a moments notice (25 X $2500=$62,500).

With God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!  Please BELIEVE with us!!

So, today, we're GEARING UP FOR THE SEASON!  As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

A "BAZAAR" EXPERIENCE....A LOT OF FUN & FEEDING THE HUNGRY

It began with some empty suitcases half-way around the world.  My Cindy planned the "Bazaar" months ago.  Go Cindy!!

We were coming home any way and had all those empty suitcases, so....my Cindy filled them with wonderful gifts and a plan to feed hungry children and bring them clean water.

Yesterday, it all came together in a lovely day meeting with our friends and neighbors to shop for some incredible bargains and beautiful gifts from India.

Several days ago, I was in Haiti and gave Barb ("The Lady in the Blue Dress") a ride back to the States.  Barb has been helping us with the Bazaar.  We love Barb and it's so good having her with us for a few days.

Ari and Barb greeted the "Bazaar Goers" at the door of the Great Outdoors Church Fellowship Hall.

A steady stream of folks came and made this a wonderful, sweet and fruitful day.

We were so blessed to have our dear friends and Fellow Chaplains, Lisa and April Menendez visit us.

The Menendez Family have helped form the back-bone of the ministry that brings the Good News of Jesus to the Hospital in Orlando for many years.  So good seeing them!!!

This day went so well because of help from Joanie and Wayne who assisted in making the Great Outdoors Church available to us.  THANK YOU!

WHAT A DAY!  When it was over, we had received funding to feed hungry children in India for several months and folks were able to find lovely gifts at bargain prices.

All because my sweet Cindy had a wonderful idea and made it happen.  That's my Proverbs 31 Lady of God!!

BTW, Ariana never left Cindy's side from buying the gifts in India, to transporting them half-way around the world and helping to set up and greeting the guests. We're so proud of our precious Ari!!!

After this wonderful Bazaar that is doing so much good, Ari and I brought Barb to the Prussel's.

The Prussel's have joined us all over the world bringing clean water to the thirsty.  Where would we be without so many who stand with us?

Well, they have an unusual pet, a sweet little pig named "Roxy".

BTW, we were just with the Prussel's in Haiti.  Love those guys!!!

This morning, we're getting ready for Church and then will go to the Hospital to minister to the sick with our good friends, the Menendez Family.  God bless!!!

And that brings me to you.  Can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

YESTERDAY.... IN THE "JUNGLE" & TODAY...THE INDIA BAZAAR

Out of all of the Disney Parks , in my humble opinion, Animal Kingdom is the best!

We spent the day wandering through delightful jungle settings with spectacular natural events unfolding before us.  We had a blast!

We're so glad that Peter and Ashley could join us on this "trek" through the jungle.

It was a lovely day!!

Today, my Cindy will be hosting the India Bazaar here at the Great Outdoors Resort in Titusville, FL.

Often, when we travel to country for a mission, our suitcases are all full of supplies and water purifiers etc.

Well, on the way home, we have all of those "empty" suitcases.

My Cindy, who is Proverbs 31 Lady of God is always thinking of ways that we can reach more and find the money to pay for it.

She then "shops" to fill those suitcases with wonderful gifts and such..... and has a "Bazaar" to share these lovely treasures with our friends.

At the same time, we're able to tell the story of where we've been and how one can help us to bring hope and help and love to those who so desperately needs it.

A true "Win-Win" situation.  I love you, Cindy!!

We hope you can make it to this lovely India Bazaar.  Here are the details and the "Invite" - INDIA BAZAAR

Well, it's time to set up.  THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart.  We so appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD....

Being a Florida Resident affords certain privileges.  One of them is....rather inexpensive tickets to Disney.

For Christmas, we received multiple "passes" to the Amazing World of Walt Disney.  So...today is the last day that we can use these little jewels.

Cindy, Ari and I will be heading there in a few minutes, to beat the crowds and yes, we're planning to have a wonderful day at Animal Kingdom.

We'll be joined by Peter and his friend, Ashley.  We're excited!

We'll resume our work when we return, as we have the "India Bazaar" to host tomorrow.  For today, we chill and enjoy Disney.

BTW, here's the Event Link to the "India Bazaar" - INDIA BAZAAR

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

A WOODPECKER AND A GATOR....

Cindy and I were having a cup of coffee when we heard what sounded like an impact wrench tapping on the side of our home.  Hmmm, must be a woodpecker.

After a bit of investigation, the truth came out.  It was indeed a woodpecker and a gator working together to draw me out (LOL).  Best be careful in Florida from wild critters.

Now, that I was outside investigating, here comes our local 10' gator cruising by.  I love nature in Florida!

We're busy planning the "Indian Bazaar" that's coming up this Saturday 9:00-12:00 at the Great Outdoors Church (144 Plantation Drive, Titusville, FL 32780).

Hope you can come!!  Here's more on this wonderful event to help us feed hungry children in India....

MORE WEATHER THAN I BARGAINED FOR or...."DISCRETION IS THE BETTER PART OF VALOUR"

It looked like weather would be a factor in our journey home.  A large, powerful storm system appeared to be moving to the east and we could just "slip" by to the west.

I've been flying this route for nearly 40 years and know that weather in the Caribbean can be extremely "unpredictable"!  Such was the case yesterday.

Barb, Anne and I arrived at the airport ready to go.  Did a thorough "Pre-Flight", had a word of prayer and we launched for home.

The first 4 hours of the flight were smooth and pleasant.

Barb, Anne and I were able to discuss future plans of documenting "Missions" and bringing them to the Body of Christ for both prayer, encouragement and recruiting.

Anne's 20 years of experience in the television world could be a great asset in this pursuit.

The Caribbean has spectacular views and is often tranquil & peaceful.  The Little Donkey took us closer to home and closer to the storms.

Several things were happening.  The afternoon thunderstorms were brewing and stewing and rapidly gaining strength.

Our Lord made a nice "hole" for us to fly through as we approached the Florida Coast.

But....it became evident that our destination of Fort Pierce was "covered" in powerful storms and they were growing!

I got on the radio and advised Miami Center that we were changing our destination to West Palm Beach.

I eased the throttles forward to increase our speed so as to "beat" those storms that were rapidly approaching West Palm.

We made it!  Shortly after landing, the storms hit West Palm!  We were safe and on the ground in the U.S.

After clearing Customs, we re-positioned to Atlantic Aviation.

I asked if they had a Courtesy Car (Free) and could recommend a good Steak House.  They did both!

While the storms raged, we drove to the Okeechobee Steakhouse, the oldest continually operated family owned Steakhouse in Florida.

We enjoyed a spectacular late lunch.  What a pleasant way to "ride out a storm".

There was a solid wall of storms between West Palm Beach and Titusville, FL.

We were safe and comfortable and in no rush to tangle with those storms.

Indeed....
DISCRETION IS THE BETTER PART OF VALOUR!

Once the storms passed West Palm Beach (KPBI), we could make the final leg of our journey to our home base at Space Coast Regional Airport (KTIX).

Even then, a few late afternoon storms continued to pop up along our route. We just slipped by on the west side and made it back home.  AHHHHH....GOOD TO BE HOME!!

Looking back on this mission, surely our Lord was with us each step of the way.

We're so THANKFUL to have you along for this adventure.  THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

 A "BIT" OF WEATHER....

It's time to think about "wrapping" this mission up. We've accomplished our goals and more.  For that, we're THANKFUL!

But....looking at the weather enroute, one can see a bit of disturbance along the route home.  We'll certainly keep an eye on that as we plan our day.

Oh, there's always "work" to be done in Haiti and we just might be able to stick around and do some more.  Time and the weather will tell.

BTW, most of that weather is hanging out on the western tip  of the infamous "Bermuda Triangle".  That's the reason we're monitoring it closely.

I caught a quick slice of the day.  Anne was interviewing Barb while the kids went round and round on little rolling toys that the Little Donkey carried in over the years.

Folks, Cindy and I met Barb 25 years ago and have worked with her ever since.

I can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate this intrepid, fierce, determined "Lady of God"!

So, as we go into this day that our Lord has made, we're rejoicing and seeking His direction.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

A DOZEN "TO GO"!!

Spent Sunday afternoon in Joe's Depot bringing Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers up to Operational Standards.

We put the first unit in Haiti in 2004 following a dreadful flood that took 3000 lives.

Today, we have 347 units in Haiti.  Our "Life-Time Warranty" system is simple.

If  a unit fails to function properly, all the Operator has to do is bring the unit to our facility in Bon Repos and "On the Spot", they will be given a refurbished unit at NO CHARGE.

We have done this since 2004 and system works.  CLEAN WATER is flowing and we intend to do all we can to keep it that way!

So, after several hours in the "Depot", the total number of refurbished units was 12....A DOZEN TO GO!

Earlier in the day, our Team all went to Church and Ed preached a wonderful message on the 7 last sayings of Jesus on the Cross.

The Church at Viera (CAV) has sponsored this wonderful church and we were pleased to see it full to capacity for the Sunday morning service.  PRAISE GOD!!

So, here we are on Monday morning and ready to GO wherever our Lord leads!  THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!  I'm so glad you're with us!!!

JOE'S BLUE "RIDE"

Immediately after the 2010 Haiti Earthquake, I bought this pretty little blue motorcycle.

It has taken me all over Haiti.  It's a wonderful tool in the dreadful Haitian traffic.  It can slip through the tiniest opening.

Anyone who has ever been to Haiti and experienced the "traffic" knows exactly what I'm speaking about.

It's hard to believe that this pretty little blue bike is 8 years old.  The secret is....I'm the only one who rides it!

The humble little motorcycle is used extensively throughout Haiti.  For example, here's a "Mini-School 'Bus'".

Or, just a general "Cargo" Carrier going to market.

Meanwhile, the Crew working in the "Village" were all busy.

The super cool coating for the roofs will seal it for years and cool things down inside.

Steve was busy making "Custom" built tables...as per Barb's direction.  Barb is also referred to as "The General".

Lydia went throughout the "Village" touching up the lovely art work and making new signs.

WHAT A TEAM!!

Well, it was a perfect opportunity for me to "slip away" on the little Blue Motorcycle and visit with Cindy's Dad, Ron, who lives 50 Kilometers away.

After a wonderful lunch and a lovely visit with Ron I headed back to the "Village".

Even though the motorcycle is very nimble and can get through the worst traffic jam, there are always a few "breath-taking" moments and near misses.

Now, in the "Village", we have a gifted "Pedicurist", Dat.  Over the years, she's done so many feet with happy "customers".  It was time for me to get my first ever "Pedi".  I now have "happy feet".

This morning, the "Team" headed to church.  Ed will be preaching.  I'll be heading there on the Little Blue Motorcycle in a few minutes.

THANK YOU for joining me on this "Journey".  Your prayer, love and support is vital!  God bless!!!!

A DAY IN THE "VILLAGE" & ABOUT TOWN

The Church at Viera (CAV) has been working in Haiti for over 10 years.  They have done so much incredible work in the "Village", giving us a remarkable "Base" to reach out to Haitians!

Ed has led most of the teams to Haiti and yes, we love ED!!

And, it was Joe Prussel who first told the CAV about Barbara and the Mission in Haiti.

Now, Lydia Prussel has a "Gift" and she's put that wonderful gift all over the "Village".  Lydia is an AMAZING ARTIST!!

Joe works for the Karnak Corporation.  He has arranged donations of roof sealer.  So, not only did he get the sealer, but he comes and helps put it on (in the Supervising roll).

THANK YOU JOE & KARNAK!

Among the Volunteers is Steve.  Steve has been coming to Haiti since the 2010 Earthquake.  He was even here when I broke my leg.  We love Steve!!

Rosie and her son, Theo came on the mission and they're busy painting and doing whatever else needs to be done.

Anne has been "capturing" the on-going events on film.

Again, where would we be without our God-Sent Volunteers!!!

And, while all of this work was being done in the "Village", I slipped into town and had another GREAT meeting with the Director General Olivier Jean of OFNAC (the FAA of Haiti).

We're working closely together to keep the vital Air Traffic Control Communications System working in "First-Class" condition.  We're making excellent progress on this critical project.

So, what does today hold for us?  I have 4 Air Mobile Rescuers that need a bit of tender loving care.  We still have 8 units in reserve.

It's time to get on with this beautiful day in Haiti.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

"ALIVE"....FROM THE HAITI DESK

It's good to be back in Haiti!  My "Haiti Desk" awaited me, with a good selection of coffee.

Early yesterday morning we were at the airport preparing the Little Donkey for flight.

Yahn, another great "Water Mule", had loaded the Little Donkey and fueled it for the mission.

Anne Hill, a well known Producer / Director joined me.  Cindy and I met Anne 8 years ago during the "Extreme Makeover" BLESSING!

It was a good day to fly to Haiti.  The path was clear and hardly a cloud in the sky.

We climbed to 15,000' and settled down for a nice ride.

As we passed Grand Bahama Island, the sun peeked over the horizon.  Love those glorious Caribbean sunrises.

This was Anne's first experience in flying in a little bitty airplane.  She's a trooper.

We eased through the infamous "Bermuda Triangle" without a glitch.  Anne was relieved.

We landed in Haiti and quickly processed our vital supplies and headed to the Mission to meet Barbara.

BTW, the last time Anne was in Haiti was 8 years ago in the middle of the Cholera "Scourge" that took over 10,000 lives.

Then Joe and Lydia Prussel arrived a bit later on American Airlines.  Joe and Lydia have joined Air Mobile on missions all over the world.  We're so THANKFUL for them!!

There's a lot of work to be done at the mission.  We have our work cut out for us!

THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart.  We so appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

In the quiet of the morning, over a delicious cup of coffee, I ponder the awesome love of God.

There are times that I'm simply overwhelmed with how our Lord allows Cindy and I to do the things that we do.

It is all by HIS AMAZING GRACE....and the help and prayers from our friends.

Can't tell you how THANKFUL I am to have you on-board with us with your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

Today, we embark on a new adventure.  Stay tuned.....

GOOD BYE BARBARA.... & TRAINING & "ANGELS" SAVE FLIGHT

We were all saddened by the news that Barbara Bush passed away.  What an amazing and gracious First Lady.  Barbara you will be missed!

And, here's a story about an incredible pilot who's skill and prayer saved the flight.  Bravo, Captain Shults!!!

Here's a closer look at that engine that blew apart at 32,000'.  This flight could have been lost!

Again, Bravo Captain Shults.  You did an amazing job!!!

Today, I'll be picking up an Air Mobile "Water Mule", Anne.  She'll be flying into Orlando on Southwest Airlines.  We pray all goes well.

THANK YOU, for your prayer, love and support!!!

WELCOME STAN &....BON VOYAGE & "CHOMP"!

Yesterday, Stan and a RAM Team landed at our home field for fuel.  They're enroute to Guyana on a critical relief mission.

It's always good to see Stan.  He's one of the most amazing Humanitarians I've ever had the privilege to work with.

Was able to pass on our fuel discount to send Stan on his way on another mission.

After watching Stan depart, headed over to the other side of the field and put some fuel in the Little Donkey for a test flight following a "Progressive" Inspection.

The plane flew perfectly and is now ready for the "Next Mission".  We're getting ready.

Captured a "monster" beneath the surface yesterday.  This was about 15' from our Florida Room.

Just kept "tracking" this big boy and caught him having a snack.  Not sure what he was eating.

Here's a good rule....DO NOT SWIM IN FLORIDA PONDS / LAKES!

May you be blessed today!  We're so THANKFUL for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

MONDAY - MONDAY....

Will be meeting our good friend and partner in relief, Stan Brock of Remote Area Medical (RAM) in just a few minutes.

Stan and Ron Adams are flying the RAM King Air 200 to Guyana today.  They'll be stopping at our home base here in Titusville, FL for fuel.

It's always good to see Stan!  We've worked all over the world together bringing clean water, medical help and food to the thirsty, sick and hungry.

I must say, the RAM TEAM is a pure pleasure to work with.  They know what they're doing and simply accomplish the mission.  I THANK our Lord for such friends and "Co-Laborers"!

Later today, I'll be taking the Little Donkey up for a Test Flight following our routine, scheduled maintenance inspections.

We're getting ready for our "Next Mission"......wherever that might be.

We're very pleased to tell you that our Ariana is over her fever and going back to school today. We played a lot of "Rummy" during her recovery.

Well, it's time to head to the airport to meet Stan and RAM.

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

DRAWING....WITH ARIANA

It was a "lazy" day.  Ari has been recovering from a low grade fever for the last few days.

She asked me if I'd like to "draw" with her.  The day was clear, chores had been done.  Upcoming "Mission" work was up to date.

"Why not", I replied.  I haven't drawn on a clean sheet of paper in....I don't know...maybe 55 years.  It was time to just sketch and color with my daughter.

The truth is....I had a blast.  I'd forgotten how much fun it is to just sit and draw....and with my daughter.

We had delightful conversations and were able to talk about ministry and missions and the state of the world and so much more.

Well, here's my crude little creation.  It's a village in the mountains with a Missionary airplane about to land.

So, on this beautiful Sunday, we're getting ready for church and then to the Hospital in Orlando to bring the GOOD NEWS of JESUS!

THANK YOU for wandering down this "road of life" with us.  We so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!!

A BEAUTIFUL ORDINATION & PRAY FOR WORLD LEADERS TO HAVE GOD'S WISDOM!

Last night, Cindy and I celebrated a lovely event, the Ordination of our son, Christian Hurston.

Christian and Ann Marie have been members of East Coast Christian Church for years and have served faithfully in numerous positions.

Pastor Dan Staubaum ( a great Pastor of a great Church!!) Ordained our son and we rejoice!!

While we were celebrating this glorious event, bombs were dropped on suspected Chemical Warfare laboratory locations in Syria.

Folks, this is an EXTREMELY VOLATILE situation and we need to PRAY for WORLD LEADERS to have God's wisdom.

SKATING ON THE EDGE....IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

While sipping coffee with my Sweetheart, we saw this rather large gator (about as long as the golf cart!) sunning himself while golfers sauntered by.

BEWARE:  THE GATOR!

We like to sit and watch "Nature" play out before us, but we don't want to see a gator attack.

Oh well, such is life in the Great Outdoors.

Do you recall, while in India we had 6 EMPTY suitcases after we delivered the gifts?

We just couldn't bear to bring back EMPTY suitcases!

Well, my Cindy filled them up with lovely fashions and accessories from India.

She's planning a lovely India Bazaar here in the Great Outdoors on Saturday, April 28th.

If you're in the area, be sure to mark the date and if possible come and join us for this wonderful event.

This fun event will take place at the The Great Outdoors Church located at:

144 Plantation Drive
Titusville, FL   32780

Stay tuned for the details.

We'll be taking the profits from this wonderful event and putting it in the Childrens Feeding Program in India.  It is a worthy cause!!

BTW, Cindy and Ari loved shopping in India and bought some very cool stuff.  Hope to see you there.

Today, Paul, our amazing mechanic, will be performing routine inspections (Progressive Maintenance) on the Little Donkey.

This is a powerful tool for our Lord and we like to keep it "Ready for Action".

Thank you, as always for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

THIS MORNING IN PROVERBS....

As you may know, I like to read the Proverb of the Day.  In other words, on the 11th of the month, I read Proverbs 11.

Came across this verse and thought I'd share it with you. Proverbs 11:27...

Here's a look at this wonderful verse in the New King James Version (NKJV)..

Proverbs 11:27 New King James Version (NKJV)

27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor,
But trouble will come to him who seeks evil.
Folks, we're all in the same boat according to Romans 3:23....ALL have sinned come short of the Glory of God.

The bottom line is:  If we dig for dirt, we'll surely find it.  The deeper we dig, the more we'll find.  That is why we need the GRACE OF GOD in our lives.

Here in the U.S. (Washington DC) right now, there is a lot of finger pointing and accusations are flying like crazy.

Let us PRAY that our Lord has His way and His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

There, I just had to get that off my mind.  I love reading Proverbs.  It is a true light unto our pathway.

We pray you are blessed today.  THANKS, as always, for your wonderful prayer, love and support!!!

BEING HOME.....

As you, who follow this "Rambling Blog" know, Cindy, Ari and I just returned from a "Whirlwind" Mission to India.

Oh, it's so good being Home!  A place of rest and strength!

We're still a "upside down" with a bit of Jet Lag, but overall doing quite well.  Thank God!

The images of the children whom we had the awesome privilege to minister to, are still fresh in our minds and hearts.

We're so THANKFUL to our Lord for giving us these incredible opportunities to GO & simply bring food, water and share the Love of God with those who are in such deep need.

We know, according to the Word of God (Matthew 25) that when we reach out to the "Least of these", we're reaching out to Jesus and fulfilling His will on this earth.

I'm so glad that you're with us on this Amazing Journey!

We're already planning our "Next Mission".  Can't give any details right now, but the pieces are coming together.

So, as we go about this beautiful day that our Lord has made we REJOICE & we're so THANKFUL for your prayer, love and support!

HOME....SWEET HOME

The "Mission to India" was a success.  We were able to bring wonderful gifts, clean water and the Message of the Love of God to the extremely poor and needy.

This is where our Lord Jesus wanted us to go and bring His GOOD NEWS!

We are extremely THANKFUL to have you on-board with us on this wonderful journey.

We could not do the things that we do without a lot of help from our friends!

Together, we were able to deliver love, hope, joy and much needed help to a group called the "Untouchables" (Dalits).

We arrived in the U.S. on Saturday after nearly 40 hours from the time we began the journey home.  A bit "travel weary" but good to go.

Yesterday, Sunday, Cindy and I ministered multiple times in a hospital in Orlando. We've been the Chaplains at this Hospital for over 20 years.

Again, we had the awesome privilege to share the GOOD NEWS of JESUS to those who are sick and in jail.

Because of Confidentiality Rules, we cannot share details, photos or other information regarding our work there.  I can tell you, though, by the Power & Grace of God , "New Names have been written down in glory"!

So, here we are, back home and moving ahead toward our "Next Mission".  THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

THE GOLDEN MANGO.....BEWARE!!

Ariana loves Mangoes.  While in Ongole, India, her new friend Grace (Sam's Sister) bought her a beautiful "Golden Mango".  It was nicely wrapped in it's own little bag.

After ministry to the children that day, the little Golden Mango was tucked away and forgotten until.....

And here is where our story gets a bit dicey.

We completed our mission to India.  It was VERY successful.  We accomplished all we set out to do and more.

We were on the final leg of our long journey home.  We landed in Fort Lauderdale, FL after an extremely long 16 hour flight from Dubai.

The electronic Customs Entry system worked just great.  We were cleared in record time.

It was on to collect our 6 checked bags when a cutest little Customs Beagle sniffed one of our suitcases.

The Customs Officer politely asked if we had any fruit or vegetables.  We stated that we had bought dates in Dubai and had some cookies.

We were then given a note and told to go to Line "A".  We worked our way into the back rooms of U.S. Customs.  Again, we were asked if we had any fruit or vegetables.  No...only the dates and cookies.

The bag was opened and immediately, inside all of the normal baggage was the little white bag with the mango inside.  We had completely FORGOTTEN about the gift from Grace to Ariana 3 days before.

We were violated and the cost was $300.00!  I simply asked if there was any "Grace" as we had no idea that that mango was in our bags (we had 6 full suitcases).  We just got a somewhat sympathetic stare.

After the paperwork to pay the fine was done, the Customs Officer informed me that because it was our first violation ever (been doing International travel for over 50 years), the fine was reduced to $175.00.  Thank God for small graces!

Well, that's the story of the Golden Mango.  Be sure to thoroughly check your bags before you travel back to the U.S.

Those sweet little Beagles do a great job of sniffing!!

The sting of the fine was over-shadowed by the the success of our mission.

We also recalled how the stranger, and new friend funded an Air Mobile Rescuer while standing in line to check-in while in Hyderabad, India.  God is Good and we learn valuable lessons in life.

We made it home and settled in and now, we have just a little bit of "Jet Lag" to get over.  It's good to be home!!

THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

AIR MOBILE....HEADING HOME!

This is a very short, crisp, somewhat breathless Blog.  Cindy, Ari & I boarded a flight in Hyderabad, India 5 hours ago and flew to Dubai.

Had just a moment and captured Cindy & Ari at a unique waterfall in the magnificent Dubai Airport.

I must tell you about an amazing incident that occurred while awaiting the Ticketing Gate to open in Hyderabad.

I struck up a conversation with another American (a Texan) who was also waiting to check in.  By the end of a 10-15 minute conversation, this gentleman, funded an Air Mobile Rescuer!  PRAISE GOD!!

I love the way our Lord deploys His troops!  Now, more people will get clean water.

In a few minutes we'll be boarding  the 15 Hour flight back to Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Oh, it's been an amazing Mission to India.  We accomplished our goals....and more!

The next blog will be in the U.S. Eastern time zone.  We'll have a bit of "Jet Lag" to deal with, but this was a rather short (but effective) Mission.  It shouldn't take too long to get readjusted to Florida time.

THANK YOU as always for your truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

"ON THE ROAD" WITH PBJ'S & A BLESSING

We were up early yesterday, preparing for our road trip to Hyderabad, India.  Cindy made PBJ's (Peanut Butter Jelly) for the 6 hour trip.

Before leaving town, we stopped at Sam's home for a blessing from his Mom & Dad.

Pastor Daniel led us in Communion and we shared the Word of God.

Afterward, our feet were washed by this precious family.  We were humbled.

Pastor Daniel prayed a blessing upon us and we "Hit the Road".

I love noting "Cultural Differences" between the U.S. and other countries.  Here's a funny one about "Blowing your horn"!

I mean, the signs are everywhere.  PLEASE BLOW YOUR HORN!  Could you imagine what would happen in the U.S. if we did that!!

Being on the road in India brings about some unusual and strange sights.

Now, this is a BIG LOAD!!

Just look at the size of the 2 men on the back of the truck to realize just how big that load is.

Well, we tried to pass that "BIG BOY", but had to just wait a bit.

Then, the young man on the back of the BIG LOAD truck flicked his red flag & we were able to pass.

Then came a huge statue along the way.  India is known for very large Hindu Temples.

We arrived in Hyderabad safe and sound.  Our Driver did a masterful job of maneuvering and squeezing us through the traffic.

We'll have a "free day" in Hyderabad to do some shopping and sightseeing.

Hmmmm, now, we have those 6 suitcases that had brought in critical water purifier components and 500 hygiene kits.

Now...what could we put in them for our return flight??  My Cindy has it all figured out.

She's already been shopping for BEAUTIFUL INDIAN GARMENTS & MORE for a wonderful India Bazaar when we get back to the states.  We'll "Top Off" those suitcases here in Hyderabad.

And....all profits will go toward the INDIA FEEDING PROGRAM.

Now, that's my PROVERBS 31 LADY OF GOD!

We'll be flying out this evening for the long journey home.  THANK YOU, as always for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

FROM THE MARKET TO THE BEACH TO THE CHILDREN

Our day began with a trip to the Farmers Market.  Our goal:  buy the ingredients for the children's feeding program for the evening meal that we would provide.

For years, Sam and his family have been providing free meals to these precious children, who are at the "bottom" of the Social Ladder in India, the "Dalits".  We're blessed to work with this wonderful family.

Sam knows his way around the markets and knows what ingredients to buy.  The great thing is that this "Feeding Program" is providing income to the local farmers.  A true "WIN-WIN" Situation.

Cindy and Ari pitched in and helped to shop.   This market was very clean and well organized.

After shopping, I was dropped back off at the hotel.  The old "Jet Lag" hit me and I just had to rest.

Cindy and Ari pressed on to the Beach and then to the seaside village where gifts would be given and hot food provided.

Ari is gaining so much on this mission.  Cindy and I can see the Hand of our Lord upon this precious young lady.

She is making a deep friendship with Grace, Sam's Sister.  It is wonderful watching those two together.

Sam loves the beach!  It was on an outing to the beach many years ago, that Sam's family first realized the plight of the Dalit's and began providing meals as they were able.

Here's Sam dancing with the boys from the Village.  Cindy and I are so THANKFUL to have found this family. We're able to help them with this noble mission.

I so recall the Scripture...."I was hungry and you gave me to eat":  Jesus!

The children were gathered and Cindy shared a simple message on the Love of Jesus!

Then, the gifts (hygiene kits with toys) were distributed.  The overwhelming joy of each child hit us like a wave of love.

The message that came back to us from the Village was that there was great JOY in each home.

The hygiene packets were so needed and so appreciated!!

At the end of the long day, a tired Cindy and Ari returned to the hotel.

I did enjoy my rest while these 2 were working so hard.  Sometimes, that Old Jet Lag hits and you can hardly take another step.  The rest did me a lot of good.

Today, we begin our long journey home.  We've accomplished all that we set out to do on this mission.  The 4 Air Mobile Rescuers are all refurbished and "Ready for Action".

Sam has received more training on the operation / maintenance and repair of these invaluable units.

We've been able to strengthen the feeding program with funding.  It's been very good for us to see the steps and logistics necessary to provide these hot nourishing meals to these precious ones.

It's time for us pack our bags and hit the road for the long journey to the airport that will carry us home.

THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

REPAIR...TRAIN....BRINGING GIFTS OF LOVE

Sam and I spent much of the day in repairing / servicing and training on the Air Mobile Rescuers.  Sam is a good student and learned a great deal.

It was a joy to bring all 4 units back up to speed and ready for action.

We're so THANKFUL for this precious tool that takes very dirty water and makes it very clean.  PRAISE GOD!!

Sam places these units in very isolated areas where the water is "deadly".  We're thankful for Sam's faithful service!

We then headed out to another feeding center.  We would be distributing the hygiene kits (with toys) there.  Enroute, Sam gave me a bit of background on Cows in India.

We arrived as the sun was setting.  The 2 green suitcases (full of goodies) made their way into the Village of the "Untouchables".

Cindy told the kids just how much Jesus loves them!  They are certainly not "UNTOUCHABLE"!

Again, we're so glad that Ari is with Cindy and I on this mission.  She is learning so much!!

Then came the fun part.  Handing out the hygiene packets with the dolls and toys.

We were so blessed by the order and sweetness of these children.  They were so THANKFUL for the gifts.  What a wonderful opportunity to express the Love of Jesus to them!!

I recall, as so many in our home church bagged up all of these gifts that were given so generously.  We're all in this wonderful thing together.  Oh, the sheer joy of giving in His Name!

I had the honor to pass out the boys packets.  Each boy personally thanked me and shook my hand.  I was touched!!

After passing out all those wonderful gifts, all of the kids had a hot nutritious meal.

Again, we're so THANKFUL to Sam and his wonderful family for reaching out to these who are so neglected and forgotten.

At the end of this very long day and threading our way through the crazy India traffic....heading back to the hotel and sleep.

Today, we'll be in more feeding centers and bringing gifts of love!

Folks, I can't begin to tell you what a joy and privilege this is!  THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support that sends us around the world!

A LOVELY ENGAGEMENT PARTY...THEN TO THE "UNTOUCHABLES"!

Our day began by being invited to an absolutely lovely engagement party for Sam's brother, Krupa to Rekha.

Krupa is a Pastor and Rekha is a nurse and they love the Lord and serve Him with all of their hearts.  What a beautiful couple!

We were so honored to attend this joyous occasion.  What a way to start the day!!

Sam's family have served the Lord for over 50 years and they are a shining light for our Lord Jesus in India.

BTW, the Christian population in India is less than 2%.  Praise God for the Faithful who serve Jesus!

From that wonderful celebration, our team headed out to the "Untouchables", a group that is considered the low of the low.  They are most precious to our Lord Jesus!

We drove through low lying areas that are prone to flooding.  These families have been devastated time and time again.  We are bringing in food, gifts and the sharing the Love of Jesus.

Indeed, we have come a LONG WAY with a lot of help from our friends.  What an awesome joy to bring these gifts of love!

My Cindy has done a wonderful job of pulling all of the many pieces together to make this mission happen.  She is driven by the unspeakable love our Lord Jesus!!

Ari greeted the children.  We're so thrilled that Ari is with us and experiencing the pure joy of sharing the love of Jesus!

We gave the gifts, first to the girls in the Village.  They were very sweet and orderly and thankful!

Then I had the privilege to hand out the gifts to the boys. I do wish you could be here with us and experience the pure joy of giving to these precious ones!

Then the kids raised their gifts saying THANKS to all!

Meanwhile, the hot, delicious, nutritious food was being prepared.  Cindy, Ari and I again had the privilege to serve these precious ones.

This little boy was holding tightly onto his gift and eating with the other hand.

At the end of this long and extremely satisfying day, we bid farewell to the children and headed back to our hotel.

On the way home, we stopped at coffee shop and had a delicious Cafe' Latte'.  God is Good!!

Today, we'll be working on Air Mobile Rescuers and giving Sam intense training on maintaining and repairing these wonderful tools that bring CLEAN WATER!

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU ALL for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

FINALLY.....SOME GOOD SLEEP!

The thing about most longinternational flights, (unless you're Business or First Class) is that you are sitting...and can't recline.

No matter how you try to "position" yourself, you're still sitting and this....does not lead to relaxing sleep.

After our long journey to India 35+ hours, we finally were able to LAY DOWN!

Oh my, what glorious, sweet sleep resulted.  Cindy, Ari and I awoke feeling somewhat renewed.

Now....we have to deal with the 9.5 hour time difference between India time and Eastern U.S. time.  But, that's another issue.....JET LAG.

What makes all of this work is COFFEE!  Thanks to our handy electric tea kettle (240 volts) and Instant 3 in 1 coffee (coffee-sugar-cream all in 1 packet) from Viet Nam (thanks to my good friend Joe Prussel), we're able to make our own coffee in our room here in India.  Life is GOOD!

Our hotel does not serve breakfast, but we're covered with a full range of breakfast snacks. It's good to be prepared!

While awaiting Sam, Cindy and Ari worked in a game of "Rummy".  It's good bring a deck of cards with you for "waiting".

Our schedule will be full today between bringing our gifts (hygiene kits & goodies) to the children  (AKA:  The "Untouchables").

We'll be conducting training and trouble shooting on the 4 Air Mobile Rescuers that we have here.

For now, we're refreshed and ready to go.  Sam and Team will be here in a few minutes.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU!!!

PS - I just received this wonderful "Report" from Bonnie regarding the "RESCUE".  What an amazing story of God's Amazing Grace and Romans 8:28!!

HE IS RISEN....& WE HAVE ARRIVED....IN INDIA!!

After nearly 36 hours of hard travel, Cindy, Ari and I arrived In Ongole India on Easter Sunday!  PRAISE GOD!

We had a warm reception and even a lovely "Banner" from Sam and his precious family.

All of our flights went very well and were right on time.  Our road trip from Hyderabad to Ongole India went smoothly, though quite long.

As I write this rambling blog, I'm a bit delirious as have had only little snippets of sleep these past 36 hours.

We NEVER take our Lord's Traveling Mercies for granted.

Every single last item arrived in perfect condition.  India Customs and Immigration was gracious and we're just THANKFUL to finally be here in India!

We PRAY that you have a BLESSED EASTER!

We have so much for which to CELEBRATE!

HE IS ALIVE!!!!!

Dear Lord Jesus, THANK YOU for coming into this world to pay the price for all of our sins and give us NEW LIFE!!

Tomorrow, we hit the ground running delivering vital supplies and gifts.  Will be servicing 4 Air Mobile Rescuers and so much more.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!
