THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES....AUGUST 2020

WHEN THE BRIDGE IS OUT.....

Fact is, when the bridge is out, things can't go in or get out.  Not a good position.

Well, our bridge that crosses the creek needed some serious repair.  Just so happens that our Lord, as is His way, sent us just the help we needed to get it back in a safe state.

Mark & Jerad were right on time to do the repairs and now.  Here it comes....

"Surely, our Lord knows how to deploy His troops".  THANK YOU JESUS!!

THANK YOU, Mark & Jerad for shifting from the project of expanding my work shop to repairing the Bridge.  You Guys are a gift from God!!

I'm about to get on the little tractor and go check the final repairs, but it's raining right now.  We're in for some stormy weather today.

Here's a "Bridge Report" on the good progress.  We can now cross it!

It's all part of living on a farm and taking care of business & having a little fun along the way.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

STRANGE TIMES....

Hardly know where to begin.  From the COVID-19 Pandemic, to the strangest election I've ever seen, to earthquakes and hurricanes and rumbling of war in multiple places around the world.  Yes, these are strange times indeed.

So, what do we do?   As for me and my house, we're living our life trying to be fruitful, prayerful and staying in the Word of God.

We're keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith!

In many ways, this is the calm before the storm.  Now is the time to stock up and prepare for what might lie ahead.

I know that I say this often in this rambling blog.  Please bear with me.

At any rate, we're so THANKFUL to have you with us on this journey through life.  Always, so appreciative for your prayer, love and support!!

KEEPING AN EYE ON CALIFORNIA

Over the years, "Earthquake Forecasting" has gotten better. Well, the experts are saying that in the next 7 days, California (near the San Andreas Fault) just may have a sizable earthquake.

We're THANKFUL for the heads up and we're keeping an eye on California as well as PRAYING for all in the path of the DANGER ZONE.

Here's more - QUAKE SWARM UNDER SALTON SEA INCREASES CHANCE OF BIGGER QUAKE IN THE NEXT 7 DAYS

Of course, the Bible says that there will be in INCREASE in EARTHQUAKES in the "End Times".

As you may know, North Carolina had a 5.2 quake several days ago.  It was the strongest quake since 1914!  Could this be another sign?

None of these things are reason to panic.  Jesus tells us..."When you see these things, look up for your Redemption draws nigh"!

So, in the meantime, Cindy and I are keeping our eyes focused on Jesus and endeavoring to do the things that He wants us to do.

On a sad note, our dear neighbor of many years in Florida, Clyde Graham, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday.  Clyde was one of the sweetest Believers we have ever known.

We will certainly miss Clyde.  Please PRAY for his precious wife Pat, as she deals with this loss.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your vital prayer, love and support!!!

SIGNS.....

Folks, as we look at the Bible and the Signs that our Lord said would happen before His return, Cindy and I are amazed at just how close we are getting.

COVID-19 is certainly paving the way for many SIGNS being fulfilled.  And....it's just beginning.

Now, as never before, we're pressing in CLOSE TO JESUS and reading Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13 which lays out the future and where we are.

Each of these Chapters only takes a few minutes to read.  I'm putting a link to each and if you haven't read them lately, we urge you to do so.

MATTHEW 24 NKJV - JESUS PREDICTS...

LUKE 21 NKJV - THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES & THE END OF THE AGE

MARK 13 NKJV - THE GREAT TRIBULATION

Remember, these are the WORDS OF JESUS...& YOU CAN COUNT ON THEM COMING TO PASS!

Folks, I don't say these things to alarm you, only to urge to study for yourself and plan accordingly.

We love you and so appreciate you're invaluable prayer, love and support!!

VICTORY TOMATOES!! & EXPANSION "STRETCHING OUT OUR TENT"

It's hard to believe just how delicious and fruitful has our VICTORY GARDEN has been.

It just keeps giving and giving.  We're getting near the end of the Tomato run and will turn this batch into Tomato Sauce & Salsa!  Mmmmmm!

Recently, my good friend Mark came to the Retreat Cabin for some Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier Training.  Little did I know that Mark is a very accomplished contractor.

He helped me to come up with a plan to EXPAND the Tiny cabin with it's own garage for all our little lawn tractors.  Love it when a plan comes together!!

Today, Cindy and I will be meeting with our NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service) to see the best way to use this wonderful land that our Lord has given us.

Can't begin to tell you how delightful it is live here at the Retreat Cabin and enjoy nature and God's wonderful provision!!

THANK YOU, as always for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

A BEAUTIFUL...OUT LOOK

Cindy, Ari and I took a ride to the famous Cumberland Gap yesterday for a lovely "LOOKOUT" HIKE.

Cindy, Ari and Andy hiked to the top of the Pinnacle Outlook....Little Benjie and I drove to the top (my knee was aching).

Benjie and I were joined by Cindy, Ari and Little Andy at the top of the Pinnacle Outlook.  What BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!!

It was nice to just take the day off from the many chores and settling in at the "Retreat Cabin".

Before hitting the "Trail", we were able to join the Service at Redeemer back in Florida thanks to the wonder of "Virtual Church".

Pastor Gary did a good job of delivering  the WORD OF GOD.

Today, it's back to work at the cabin and our "Victory Garden".  We're getting near the end of our summer harvest and we're getting ready to begin planting our early fall garden.

THANK YOU again for meandering down this "Trail of Life" with us.  Your PRAYER, LOVE & SUPPORT are vital to our mission.  THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

 THERE ARE TIMES.....

Sometimes....I simply don't know what to write.  Oh, I just sit here in front of my laptop, sipping a cup of coffee and asking our Lord...."What should I write?".

I'm not saying that I get a "Word from God" all the time, just every now and then.

For the most part, this is just a "Rambling Blog" where I share what's going on and any ideas I might have during these tumultuous and not so tumultuous times.

Many of you, have walked down this path with me, some for years.

We've faced a lot of challenges and battles, from Hurricanes, to Earthquakes, to Tsunami's to Cancer and so much more.

Through it all, we've stayed close to Jesus holding tightly onto His Hand.

BTW, I've written a DAILY BLOG for over 10 years and it's been a labor of love.  I'll just keep on doing it until.....

I just wanted you to know how much I truly appreciate your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support along the way.

God bless you and be BLESSED on this Sunday!!

ENJOY....

Woke up before the sunrise simply overwhelmed with GOD'S GOODNESS & HIS JOY!

Can't begin to tell you how happy I am to have my Cindy home!!

As a "Travel Nurse", she served so well at the Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky but....what a JOY to have her at the Retreat Cabin full time!!

Today, we're going through all the stuff that we brought from our Florida home and absorbing into the Retreat Cabin.

This enables us to see the things that we're short on and need to re-supply.

We don't know what the future holds, but....as I say so often, "WE KNOW WHO HOLDS THE FUTURE!!

So, on this beautiful day in the mountains of East Tennessee, we go forth with JOY!!

We pray you are BLESSED today and we're so THANKFUL to have your precious prayer, love and support!!!

ARI RIDES / IFR HUMMERS & AN EXTREMELY ACTIVE HURRICANE SEASON

Yesterday, we returned to River Bend Stables for Ari's 2nd riding lesson.

This is a wonderful place to learn "Horsemanship".

She's doing well  showing great balance.  The "Rescue horses", that we plan to get, will be a wonderful blessing.

Cindy and I are up early enjoying the "Air Show" being put on by a bunch of "Hummers".

They're in deep IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), but managing to find the "Table" for an early morning FLY-IN Breakfast!

Folks, looks like we're in for rip - roaring Hurricane Season.  Forecasters are calling an EXTREMELY BUSY SEASON.

Here's more - 2020 SHAPING UP TO BE EXTREMELY BUSY!!

Please pardon me for going on about the need to be PREPARED, but....we need to be PREPARED!

As I always say, if you err on any side, err on the PREPARED SIDE!!  You'll not regret it.

So, on this foggy morning, Cindy and I will be working in the barn, sorting through our "stuff" that we brought from Florida.

BTW, can't begin to tell you how HAPPY I am to have my Cindy home!!  She served well in the Hazard Hospital as a travel nurse.  PRAISE GOD for my Proverbs 31 "Lady of God"!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

ANOTHER DAY.....WALKING IN THE BLESSINGS OF GOD!!

On this foggy, cool day in the mountains of East Tennessee, life goes on....and I never cease to marvel at the GOODNESS OF GOD!!

You may recall that Mark Scarborough was with us several days ago receiving training on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.

Come to find out, Mark is a Contractor with extraordinary skills.

It just so happens that we need some construction done and Mark and Jerrad showed up...right on time.

I must quote my dear old Pastor from many years ago....

"Remember son, God knows how to deploy His troops!"

This morning, we'll be taking Ari to a local Horse Ranch for her second riding lesson.

Yes...we may be getting a couple of horses.  They can be real handy to get around on if "hard times" come.

So, on this "Smokey Mountain" morning, Cindy and I are enjoying a cup of coffee together and marveling at the goodness of God!!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

PONDERING....IN THE SMOKIES

As I sit here at my computer on this foggy morning in the mountains, I read the headlines of the terrible explosion in Beruit yesterday.

The death toll is steadily climbing as bodies are found in the widespread devastation.

I so well recall the horrid details of the 1983 Beruit Bombing that killed 241 U.S. Military Personnel, including Cindy's little brother, Tommy.  PFC Thomas Perron was an 18 year old Marine.

This world is just shaking.  I find myself praying for our Lord to come back to this earth and bring His Peace!!

Hurricane Isaias has reached Canada as a dwindling storm.

Having made landfall in North Carolina, Isaias traveled up the I-95 corridor bringing flooding and tornadoes.

The 2020 Hurricane Season is heating up and more powerful hurricanes are expected.  Again, we PRAY for wisdom and guidance.

Well, I must say, it is a true joy having my Cindy home from her Travel Nurse assignment.  PRAISE GOD!!

Time to head to the garden and prepare for our next crops.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CINDY IS HOME!!!

Yesterday was Cindy's last day at the Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky.

We're so proud of her heart to serve the suffering and extremely relieved to have her home!

Up early this morning for an appointment with my Doctor.  It's my 3 month check up.

Feeling great and believing God for a complete healing from cancer!

GOD IS GOOD....ALL THE TIME!!!

Meanwhile, Hurricane Isaias roared on shore in Southern North Carolina with winds of 85 MPH.

The northeast can expect HEAVY WINDS, RAIN & POSSIBLE TORNADOES through out the day.

All in the path....STAY BATTENED DOWN!!

Here's more - HURRICANE ISAIAS ROARS ASHORE WITH 85 MPH WINDS - STILL A DANGEROUS STORM!

Again, can't begin tell you how RELIEVED & THANKFUL we are to have Cindy home!!

Time to head to the Doctor.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

ISAIS "CRAWLS" UP THE EAST COAST - SLOWLY STRENGTHENING....& ASTRONAUTS SPLASH DOWN SAFELY!!

Reports from Florida are coming in and no serious damage reported.  A lot of rain and wind.

Soon to be "Hurricane Isais" is aiming for the Carolinas as a Cat 1 Hurricane.

We're PRAYING for all that are in the path of this storm.

We are in an EXTREMELY ACTIVE HURRICANE SEASON.

All the more reason to STOCK-UP & PREPARE for the storms that may lie ahead.

PRAISE GOD that our Astronauts aboard the Dragon Capsule splashed down safely off the coast of Pensacola, FL!!

Oh, Folks, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT!!

So glad that America is back in the "DELIVERY & TRANSPORT BUSINESS" to SPACE!!

GREAT JOB & PARTNERSHIP between NASA & SPACE-X.  BRAVO!!!

So, here at the "Retreat Cabin" all is well.  Will be preparing the Victory Garden for late summer crops.  Not sure what all we'll plant.

Can't begin to tell you what a good feeling it is to actually "grow" your own food and plant the things you love.  GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!

Be blessed today and if you live on the U.S. East Coast, batten down the hatches.  "Hurricane Isaias" is coming your way.

As always, THANK YOU for your truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

ISAIAS NOW TROPICAL STORM....SOME THOUGHTS ON COVID-19

It is with a sigh of relief that ISAIAS is now a Tropical Storm.

It'll still bring in a lot of rain and wind, but we're THANKFUL for the downgrade.

Cindy returned to the Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky yesterday.

The COVID-19 cases at the Hospital are increasing daily.  WE PRAY!!!

There are a lot of OPINIONS out there regarding COVID-19.  Some say..."it's no big deal".  Others say that "this is the end of the world".  Somewhere, in between is the TRUTH.

As for me and my house, if we err on any side, may we err on the SAFE SIDE!  Yes, we wear a mask.  Yes, we avoid large crowds.  Yes, we wash up diligently.

I'm reminded of ROMANS 8:28.  It just may be that this EXTREME AWARENESS of a deadly virus may help us all in the future to be more careful.

It just may be that the "normal" death toll from the flu just may DECREASE because we're all so "painfully" aware of how rapidly a deadly virus can travel.

We don't know when or how this deadly pandemic will end but....WE DO KNOW WHO DOES!!

As for me and my house, we're holding tightly onto Jesus' Hand.  May HE lead us and guide us each and every day.

My simple advise is....err on the SAFE SIDE and PREPARE for what might lie ahead.

Above all.....may we KEEP
OUR EYES FIXED ON JESUS!

Meanwhile, back at the "Retreat Cabin", got a little help from my good neighbor, Don.

He has a larger tractor and a "bucket" on the front.  Makes moving dirt so much easier.  THANK YOU, DON!!

So, today, in lieu of going to Church, we'll be watching our Florida Pastor, Gary, deliver the message today on-line.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

CINDY IS....NEGATIVE!  PRAISE GOD!!

Yesterday afternoon, we heard back from the Results of the COVID-19 TEST for Cindy and...we're so THANKFUL that it came back NEGATIVE!

Her "Travel Nurse" assignment in Hazard, Kentucky is coming to a close.  I'm so proud of Cindy's heart and skill to serve others who are suffering.

In the meantime, we're TRACKING HURRICANE ISAIAS!

South Florida is beginning to experience tropical storm winds as I type.

The Northern Bahama Islands are in the middle of the Hurricane right now.

WE PRAY for all in the path of this....9th Named Storm and 2nd Hurricane of the Season.

We'll be reaching out to our many friends in the Bahamas to see how they Have fared.

If need be, we can make flights into the Bahamas to bring aid if it is needed.  AIR MOBILE IS STANDING BY...READY TO HELP!!

This is shaping up to be a very BUSY SEASON.  Again, it's always a good idea to be PREPARED!!!

Here's more - HURRICANE ISAIAS BATTERING BAHAMAS AND HEADED TO FLORIDA AND THE U.S. EAST COAST

And, while tracking Hurricane Isaias, we've been harvesting tomatoes!!

Take a look at this table full.

Well, Cindy and Ari got right on it and peeled them and boiled them.

Then, they went to our "Spice Garden" and picked fresh Basil, Oregano & Rosemary to season the "Sauce".

After several hours of hard work, VOILA!!  5 QUARTS of fresh delicious Tomato Sauce!!

All, direct, from our Victory Garden!

This morning, Cindy will be heading back to the Hospital in Hazard, KY.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for Cindy's PROTECTION as she serves others who are suffering.

And, as always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!
