BACK IN THE SADDLE....

Well, took a day off to let some bad WX pass and just needed a bit of a rest.  

Enjoyed visiting the Battleship North Carolina.

Wilmington, NC is an extremely Patriotic town.

Dave spent some time showing me around.  Enjoyed the rest....but, it's time to get back in the saddle.

This incredible ship has quite a history!

PLEASE REMEMBER to PRAY for the folks in Louisiana who have been devastated by Hurricane Laura.

The LA Cajun Navy is continuing their noble outreach and yes, they do need additional funding for 5 more Air Mobile Rescuers.

Need to be back in Florida today, as I'll be attending a funeral (tomorrow) for my dear friend and great neighbor, Clyde Graham.  

Sure miss Clyde!  Please PRAY for Pat, as she deals with this loss.

A SMOOTH FLIGHT....

It was time to wrap up the "Lake Charles Mission".  

Julia Walen brought us to the Baton Rouge airport.

Again, I can't THANK Julia enough.  Just like her Dad, she dropped everything to lend  a hand.

I recall that Julia had wanted to connect us with the LA Cajun Navy after Hurricane Florence hit Wilmington.

Well, she stuck with it and made the final connection that put Clyde Cain (the "Admiral") and I together.

I'm ever reminded of the wise words from my first Pastor, Roy Stockstill...."Son, never forget, God knows how to deploy His troops".  We've seen our Lord do this again and again and again.

The Little Donkey is flying beautifully.  Our route was Baton Rouge, over Atlanta and on to Cape Fear Airport near Wilmington, NC.

We climbed to 15,500' and flew over 700 Nautical miles to Dave's home base.  Even got up to 190 Knots.  When we landed, still had 50 gallons of fuel on-board.  

The Little Donkey is an amazing aircraft giving us the the ability to move over long distances and operate out of very short strips, carrying a decent load.  God is so good to have given Air Mobile this aircraft.  

Just have to THANK Bill Duncklee again for his generosity!!

Looking at the route back to Titusville, the home-base for the Little Donkey, there's a significant build up right in the middle of the route.  

Have a bit of free time, so Dave and I may go check out the Battleship North Carolina and let that storm move on out to sea.

So, the journey goes on and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!

LOUISIANA TOUGH....AN ABORTED TAKE-OFF & A PONY TAIL

A special THANKS to Dave's daughter, Julia, who has given us her home in Baton Rouge as our Air Mobile Command Post and very comfortable accommodations for this Air Mobile Outreach to Lake Charles.  

Julia has also provided invaluable transportation on the ground in Lake Charles.

We boarded the Little Donkey, fired up the engines and "roared" down the runway when.... we had one little "glitch".  NO INDICATED AIRSPEED.

I immediately aborted the take-off and taxied right to my good friend, Gerald Huggins who quickly found the problem.  Dirt Dobbers had built a nest in the pitot system.  


Once clear, Dave and I flew from Baton Rouge to Lake Charles yesterday morning.  

There, we were met Clyde Cain, the "Admiral" of the Louisiana Cajun Navy.

We spent the day with Clyde and witnessed an amazing flow of relief supplies coming into their temporary distribution center on Common Street in the parking lot of the Cowboy Bar.

It was amazing to witness the love and dedication of these folks.  The line of folks needing help just slowly, but methodically moved on.

All the while, Clyde gave us the story of how the LA Cajun Navy began and the many significant players, including General Honore', the Hero of Katrina and the good friend to Clyde.

Clyde sees the EXTREME VALUE of the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.  This unit can be a "water treatment plant" in the most isolated locations following any disaster.

Clyde's use of shallow draft boats and airboats and jet skies can help position these units where most needed.

We need FUNDING for 5 more Air Mobile Rescuers for the Louisiana Cajun Navy.  PLEASE PRAY about this critical need with us.

At the end of the day, Clyde brought Dave and I back to the airport for our 40 minute flight back to Baton Rouge.

Oh yes, Julia also gave me my very first ever....pony tail.

Well, it's time to wrap up this mission....for now and fly Dave back to Wilmington, NC.

BTW, Dave has demonstrated his deep friendship and dedication to the Lord again. He literally dropped everything and joined me again on an Air Mobile Mission.  God bless you Dave!!

BACK TO LAKE CHARLES &...."ON THE HORNS OF A DILEMMA"

Spent yesterday in Baton Rouge (my home town) eating delicious Cajun food and visiting my family.

I called my good friend, Dan Andrews to give me a ride. Have known Dan since High School.  He's been on many "Air Mobile Missions" with me.  

He took me to Don's Seafood, a legendary Cajun Restaurant in Denham Springs (where my Momma was born).

Ran into a significant dilemma.  Was offered Chicken & Sausage Gumbo and Seafood Gumbo.  

For the life of me, just couldn't decide which one to order.  

Well, I solved the problem by ordering them both.  Truth is....I love them both!!

It was so good seeing my Sister, Gail and then my "Double First Cousin", Colonel Morton Hurston.

Oh, it's good to be home....even for a little while.

Up early this morning.  Have been in touch with "The Admiral" of the Louisiana Cajun Navy, Clyde Cain.

Will be flying back to Lake Charles this morning to continue the "Mission" to get CLEAN WATER where needed.

AIR MOBILE MEETS LA CAJUN NAVY!!

Yesterday, we had the honor  to meet Clyde Cain of the LA Cajun Navy!  

We traveled to Common Street in the heart of Lake Charles to a beehive of activity.  We found Clyde in the middle of all the operation.

We set up a unit to demonstrate the Air Mobile Rescuer powering it with the battery in Julia's Tacoma.  

When we explained how the Air Mobile Rescuer worked, Clyde "got it"!

Air Mobile immediately donated a Rescuer to the LA Cajun Navy.....and maybe more (depending on funding).

We could see that "Brother Clyde" could use a break, as he'd been going FULL SPEED since Hurricane Laura came to town.  

We offered him a ride back to his home town in Hammond and he gladly accepted the offer.

While waiting for "Admiral Clyde" to arrive, I captured these "Black Hawks" getting ready to deploy right next to the Little Donkey.

At the end of the day, Clyde met us at the Lake Charles Chennault airport and we gave him a quick ride (58 minutes) to Hammond, LA.  What a pleasure meeting this 'TROOPER"!!

Earlier, we met Blaine DuBose.  Blaine had taken the challenge of coordinating the feeding of over 8000 people in 4 days.

We could see that he had a tremendous heart to serve.  We offered Blaine an Air Mobile Rescuer and he gladly accepted it.  

The need for CLEAN WATER when cooking and serving thousands is crucial. The RESCUER will make his job much easier.

Today, we'll be in Baton Rouge continuing to reach out and place the Air Mobile Rescuers as our Lord directs.

CONTACT!!!

After a good nights sleep at Dave's daughter's (Julia) home in Baton Rouge, LA and making literally a dozen or so phone calls, we headed to Baton Rouge Regional Airport.

I "topped off" the Little Donkey with every bit as much fuel as we could squeeze in, not knowing what fuel would be available in Lake Charles.

 We boarded the Little Donkey and made the 45 minute flight to Lake Charles.

Julia then hit the road for the 120 mile journey to Lake Charles. She would then be able to provide transportation to us in Lake Charles.  

BTW, the traffic was horrendous for Julia and the then normally, 2 hour drive, became a grueling 5 hour trek.

We made it to Lake Charles with 10 Air Mobile Rescuers (and tarps and food).

What a wonderful feeling to arrive at "Ground Zero"....Lake Charles, LA!

We were met by Dave's niece, Norma, who had a Dodge Ram pick up.  She simply gave us the keys and said use it as long as necessary.  

Dave and I then headed to a ministry that was feeding over a thousand people a day.  

The Director, Blaine, immediately invited us to stay for dinner.  No problem, as fried catfish was on the menu.

We set up an Air Mobile Rescuer to demonstrate the incredible capabilities of this "Near Miracle Machine".  

During the set-up, I stepped off the back of the RAM pick up and lost my footing and...went down.  Needed to clean the wound on my arm and doused it with pure Air Mobile Rescuer water.  

BTW, the "source water" was from a a filthy source!  

This was a great demonstration of the trust I have in the quality of the water produced by the Rescuer.

The line of folks formed for the Catfish Dinner.  We were moved by the love and cooperation of so many to bring this gift of a hot, delicious meal to those who have been "wiped out" by Hurricane Laura.

Accommodations in Lake Charles are extremely scarce as nearly every single building received some measure of damage.

It was good to have the Little Donkey available.  At the end of this long day, Dave, Julia and I boarded the Little Donkey and made the 40 minute flight back to Baton Rouge.  

PRAISE GOD for GOOD CONNECTIONS and a Sweet Little Donkey.

Up early in Baton Rouge.  Heading back to the airport for the 40 minute flight back to Lake Charles (instead of the 5 hour drive!).

This morning, will be meeting the Head of the "CAJUN NAVY", Clyde.  These Guys & Gals are serious and I've wanted to meet Director for some time.  

May the Adventure and the Rescue and sharing of God's AMAZING GRACE CONTINUE!!

LOAD UP / WAIT FOR WX / FLY TO BATON ROUGE.....LAKE CHARLES NEXT!

Arrived at Space Coast Regional Airport yesterday morning and began the methodical / careful loading of the Little Donkey.

Was met by Channel 9, Channel 2 and Fox News who covered our "Mission".  So THANKFUL for their interest.

My great friend and fellow pilot and Super Water Mule, Dave Walen dropped everything and joined me on the Mission.

Dave has traveled the world with Air Mobile and I can't begin to tell you how THANKFUL I am to have him with us on this "mission"!

We taxied out for take off after letting the bad weather pass.

Air Traffic Control did a good job of "steering" us around some wicked build-ups.

We landed in Baton Rouge yesterday evening and was met by Dave's daughter Julia.  

Julia had a hot meal and comfortable bed for us.

Up early this morning and getting ready to head out.

We'll be taking on a full load of fuel and heading to Lake Charles this morning.

PLEASE PRAY for our safety and direction to get these life saving tools where they need to go.
