A LOVELY SUNSET....

While walking on our deck, I glanced to the west and saw this lovely sunset.  

Had to capture it and share it with you.

In the midst of all of the turmoil in this old world, we're ever reminded of God's ever present love and beauty.

Cindy and I are daily getting stronger.  We know that soon we'll be back into the battle bringing the love of God and clean water to the thirsty.

For now, we'll continue to recuperate and regain our strength.

As I say every single day and truly mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

THANKFUL FOR HEALING...

Cindy's shoulder (following her surgery) is healing.  My knee (following my surgery) is healing.  And even our little donkey (Emerald) is healing.

All we can say is PRAISE YOU JESUS, OUR HEALER!

On this Sunday morning, we're getting ready for church and will dodge  some strong thunderstorms along the way.

GOOD REPORT ON EMERALD & ENLARGING OUR BRIDGE 

We're very pleased to say that our little donkey, Emerald is doing much better today.  

In addition to a lot of prayer, our Vet sent over some good anti-biotic.

I know, according to "His eye is on the sparrow", He's also watching over little donkeys.

At the same time, we're enlarging our bridge, allowing larger vehicle to come up to our Retreat Cabin.

So glad we met Norman who has the skill and tools to do this important job.

Again, I'm reminded of the wise words spoken to me many years ago by my first Pastor, Roy Stockstill..."Remember son, God knows how to deploy His troops".

Time to check on the bridge project.  As always, thank  you for your faithful love, prayer & support!

PRAYING FOR A LITTLE DONKEY....

Cindy and I adopted 2 little Jerusalem donkeys several years ago.  We immediately fell in love with Jasper, the Jack & Emerald the Jenny.

They are just wonderful and they keep the cayotes away.

Recently,  Emmy began to limp.  We called our Vet and had her checked out.  She was OK for a week or so, but then began limp badly.

We called the vet and began to pray hard for Emmy.  We believe that these little donkeys are very special in the eyes of God.

It was a little donkey that carried Mary, heavy with child, to Bethlehem.  It was a little donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem.

And all throughout the Bible are stories of little donkeys. 

We even named our little airplane Ti Burik  (The little Donkey).

Well yesterday, Emmy began to get a little better.  We continue to pray for our sweet Emmy, who is BTW, also heavy with a baby donkey.  

We PRAISE GOD for this improvement.

Join us in prayer for our sweet little donkey, Emmy.

WE "PT" TOGETHER...

As I am recovering from my knee-replacement surgery and Cindy from her shoulder surgery, we both need a lot of Physical Therapy (PT).

We are THANKFUL for the Hancock Medical Hospital that helps us to do our PT at the sa.me time.

Here at the Retreat Cabin, there are always chores to be done.

On this rainy morning, we have Moses, our great Ferrier doing the hooves on our horses & donkeys.  He does a great job.

INSIDE HAITI....DEVASTATING DARKNESS & CRUELTY!

We've been following the Kidnapping of the American Nurse and her child in Haiti.  Our hearts break, not only for this kidnapping, but for all of Haiti.

I've been in close contact with missionaries operating in Haiti, and the stories of darkness and cruelty and absolutely savage terrorism inflicted upon innocent Haitians is beyond description.

Folks, PLEASE PRAY for HAITI!

DOUBLE PT'S & ANOTHER TRAGIC KIDNAPPING... 

Cindy and I will be getting our Physical Therapy (PT) together this morning.

We are THANKFUL for the excellent medical care we are receiving!

Meanwhile, this news from Haiti...further heart-break.

An American Nurse, Alix Dorsainvil, and her child were kidnapped from their compound last Thursday.  PLEASE PRAY for their safe release!  Here's more:

Also, Air Mobile is in touch with other organizations within Haiti that desperately need help. We are in deep prayer as to how we can help.

LATE BLOG....IT'S THE DUCKS FAULT

Caring for our ducks is a daily routine.  It's one that we truly enjoy.

So, today, it was time to release our 8 baby ducks into the "Big Duck" arena.

That's where I just got stuck.  Usually by this time I would have written the blog.  

But not today.  I just sat there and enjoyed the daylights out of just watching them.

I believe our Lord, Who created ALL things must have had a smile on His face when he created the ducks.

On another note, both Cindy and I are on the road to recovery from our surgeries.  

Oh, we have good days and not so good days.  But overall, we're moving forward, PRAISE GOD!

And today, our Ariana will be returning from the Haiti Adoption Reunion.  

We've sure missed her, but we're thrilled that she could go and be with Barbara and the other adoptees.

So, on this beautiful day, we say THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

HAITI'S DOWNWARD SPIRAL....

Just when you think it can't get any worse in Haiti....it does.

Saw this headline today U.S. ORDERS GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL / FAMILY MEMBERS TO LEAVE HAITI

""Kidnapping is widespread, and victims regularly include U.S. citizens. Kidnappers may use sophisticated planning or take advantage of unplanned opportunities, and even convoys have been attacked," the State Department said in a travel advisory."

Meanwhile, at a camp ground in the middle of a corn field in New Castle, Indiana 80+, who once were orphans, are gathering to thank Barbara Walker for rescuing them out of Haiti.

Among those rescued is our daughter, Ariana...for which we're ever grateful to Barbara for finding her.

Since I'm staying with Cindy, following her surgery, Ariana hitched a ride with Barbara to the Annual Haiti Reunion.

 I'm so glad that Ari is having this special time with Barbara...who is a true Legendary Missionary!

And, back here at our beloved Retreat Cabin, we have ducks and what  joy they bring to us.

PLEASE remember to PRAY FOR HAITI during this tragic and horrible time in their history.

EARLY MORNING "RUN"

Got up early (4:30am) and drove Ariana to Barbara's House.

You may remember that Barbara Walker (AKA: Rambo in the Blue Dress), who has arranged more than 3000 Adoptions found our Ariana whom we adopted.

Every year, there is a Reunion of Haitian Adoptees.  This is a wonderful time for these children who were "Rescued" by this amazing Missionary.

Ari is riding to the Reunion with Barbara today.  I'm so glad that they can spend some time together.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS

Cindy is recovering well from her shoulder surgery.  We so appreciate your prayers!

I'm so THANKFUL for the remarkable recovery I am having from my knee-replacement surgery.  This recovery enables me to help take care of Cindy.

Looking back just a bit, I could barely walk and was getting around on a little blue scooter.  Now, I can walk!  PRAISE GOD!!

BTW, this little video on the blue scooter was taken in Turkey (4-4-23) following the terrible earthquake.

I'm so THANKFUL to our Lord for giving us the ability to bring CLEAN WATER in JESUS NAME to those in desperate need.

Even though I am on assignment to stay here at the "Retreat Cabin" to care of my Cindy...Air Mobile is prepared to go wherever our Lord directs.

SUCCESSFUL SURGERY....PRAISE GOD!

Here is Cindy just before being rolled into the operation room.  Her surgery lasted over 3 hours.

The surgery went very well and THANKS to your prayer & our Lord Jesus' healing touch, her recovery is, likewise, going well.

I also want to THANK YOU for your prayers for me.  My healing is, likewise, going quite well.  So glad I can help Cindy through her recovery.

TODAY IS THE DAY....

This morning, I'll be bringing Cindy to the hospital  where she will have shoulder surgery.

A year ago, she had this surgery on her left shoulder.  Today, she will have the surgery on the right shoulder.  

This surgery is quite painful with a long recovery time.  

PLEASE remember to PRAY for Cindy!

ONE MORE DAY....

Tomorrow, Cindy will have her extensive shoulder surgery.  She is doing the many things she can do today before being out of commission for an extended period of time.

We are THANKFUL that my knee-replacement surgery is progressing so well.  I am glad that I now can be of more help to my Cindy during her surgery.  GOD IS GOOD!!

This morning, I'll be going for my scheduled PT (Physical Therapy) to continue in this healing & recovery.

A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY....

Getting ready for Church (for which, we're ever grateful for the freedom to do so) on this lovely Sunday morning.

My recovery from total knee replacement is going quite well.  My strength and mobility is progressing right on time.

On Tuesday, Cindy will have her shoulder surgery which is quite intense and painful.  I'm so glad that I'll be able to help her as she has helped me.  PRAISE GOD!!

BTW, Ariana has been absolutely amazing with her care and love for us during these surgeries.  THANK YOU ARI!!

JUST SAW "SOUND OF FREEDOM"....WOW!

Yesterday evening, Cindy, Ari and I saw "Sound of Freedom".  What a powerful Movie!

We walked out afterwards asking our selves..."What can we do to help rescue those trapped in this horrible child-sex slavery".

The first and most important thing to do is PRAY and ask our Lord Jesus to use us...show us how we can help.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, may I respectfully urge you to do so.  To say it is well done, would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!

Jim Caviezel (who played Jesus in the "The Passion of the Christ") did an absolutely incredible job of playing Tim Ballard, a true hero!!

When you go see it, be sure to share it with your friends (as I am doing now with you) this heart-breaking, revealing story of the horror of child-sex slavery taking place right here, right now before us.

In this way, we can work together to help and shine the light on this tragic and evil child-sex slavery.

PATH TO HEALING...

Heading down to the hospital this morning for more PT and....actually looking forward to it, even though it hurts.

I'm still amazed at how well my new knee is working and not a bit too soon.

Cindy will be having her shoulder surgery next week and I'm glad that it will be my turn to help her through this very intense and painful surgery.

HOT HEARINGS.....& GREAT PT!

I sat glued to the Hunter Biden Hearings yesterday.  There certainly is a lot of evidence of bribery, etc. being laid out.

The 2 Whistleblowers were very credible and extremely courageous...in my humble opinion.

What does all of this mean?  Not sure, but will continue to watch and YES, PRAYING FOR OUR NATION!!

Had a good day of PT (Physical Therapy) yesterday.  Casey & Julianne are doing an amazing job.  Cindy is helping to keep me on course.

ANOTHER SWEET DAY...

I'm getting ready to head to our small hospital for another PT (Physical Therapy) treatment.  Yes, it hurts, but it does so much good.

Yesterday, I wrote about "feeling a bit guilty".  Well, I want you to know "I'm getting over it" and just enjoying life and getting stronger every day.

BTW, I love "Living in a Small Town".  Seems that folks are just kinder and more helpful.

Time to go get that PT and progressing well along the way.

LAZY DAYS....

During this time of recovery, I often feel a bit guilty about just "lying around" and not being "in the field" on some "mission".

I suppose the best thing to do is....just enjoy the rest and let the healing flow and just deal with the "guilt".

One thing that truly helps me during this slow time is listening to the Word of God and relishing the moment(s).

At the same time, I am thrilled about getting my right knee back and I know...there's plenty of opportunities to be very busy "in the field" in the days ahead.

So, I'll just chill out and enjoy the peaceful moments on these "Lazy Days".

MORE PT & EXCELLENT MEDICAL CARE...

This morning, Cindy will be taking me to my next PT (Physical Therapy) sessions at the Sneedville Hospital.  

These folks are very good.  Cindy used them after her shoulder surgery last year.

Each day, I am getting better and stronger.  It will be just in time, as Cindy will be getting surgery on her other shoulder next week.  I'll be in much better shape to help her through this painful surgery.

We are extremely THANKFUL for the excellent medical care we are receiving.

We're also very THANKFUL for your precious prayer, love and support.

FIRST DRIVE SINCE....

Yesterday, I took a little drive in the Ford Escape.  This was the first time I've driven since my surgery 3+ weeks ago.

It went well, but upon returning to the cabin...I was quite sore.  Will give it another week or so before driving again.  

Overall, I'm very pleased with my recovery.  This coming week, I'll be continuing my Physical Therapy (PT) at the Sneedville Hospital.  

These Folks do a very good job of PT.  They did excellent PT on Cindy after her shoulder surgery.  

Well, on this beautiful Sunday morning, we're getting ready to go to Church.  

So THANKFUL for the freedom to Worship God!  May we never take it for granted!

And...THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

OH...TO WALK AGAIN

Each day, I'm gaining "Range of Motion" (ROM).  The Physical Therapy (PT) is certainly paying off.

Pain level is decreasing & ROM is increasing.

I am so THANKFUL for this amazing procedure (full-knee replacement) that is giving me the ability to walk again.

I'm especially THANKFUL to Cindy and Ari who are taking such good care of me during this time of recovery.

OUR LOVELY VALLEY....

The hay is cut and about to be fluffed & rolled.  Just makes our lovely valley even more beautiful.

I'm so pleased to let you know my new knee is working beautifully and the PT (Physical Therapy) is going very well.

I am also blessed to announce that a donation, from multiple generous donors, toward the India Orphanage has been made and the construction is progressing well.

MAKING HAY...WHILE THE SUN SHINES

I captured this moment in time while our good neighbor, Don, is "making hay" while the sun is shining.

At the same time, Yahn and his daughters, Ava & Lilly are making the duck pond.  What a lovely moment.

BTW, that was one of my Momma's favorite expressions.  She would tell me..."Baby, you gotta make hay while the sun shines".  In other words, "Seize the moment and do it while the time is right."

Yesterday, Cindy and I made the run to Bristol, TN and deposited the donation for Sam & family to continue building the orphanage in India for the children who have been rescued from child trafficking.

So, today, we'll continue doing what our Lord directs.

OUT & ABOUT

Today, Cindy and I will take the pleasant drive to Bristol, TN (an hour and a half).

There, we will be depositing a donation to Sam's ministry toward the construction of a fine orphanage in India.  Very generous donors have made this donation.

Cindy and I are proud of the excellent work that Sam and his family have done, for the cause of Christ, for 3 generations now.  It is our honor to be part of it.

And, I'm very THANKFUL for the excellent recovery I am experiencing following my knee-replacement surgery.

While out, we may even try to go see "The Sound of Freedom", an incredible movie about child /sex-slavery.  It depends upon how well I hold up.

Well, it's time to get ready to head out to Bristol.

THE JOY OF WALKING....&  HEALING!

Up this morning, to a good cup of coffee and a nice walk down the hallway...without a walker!  LIFE IS GOOD!

And, on this lovely Sunday morning, we'll be going to our sweet Church, Little Mulberry Baptist Church.  Have missed our Church family.

The Physical Therapy (PT) is going very well...not nearly as painful as when I first began this full-knee replacement journey.

Folks, I'm so glad that the decision to replace was made and now I'm on sweet side of recovery.

Again, THANK YOU, those who have prayed for me and the medical staff who are treating me and Cindy and Ari who are taking  such good care of me!

All I can say is THANK YOU JESUS for your grace, mercy and healing!

A GOOD REPORT...& A FRESH START!!

Cindy and I had a pleasant drive to Morristown to meet with my Surgeon, Dr. Christopher, for a "Post-Op" check-up.

I had an X-Ray and saw the Full-Replacement knee.  WOW!!  What a BEAUTY!!  

Folks, I can't begin to tell you how THANKFUL I am for this amazing technology.

I so well recall the deep pain I'd been having with my old knee  with it's bone on bone along with 4 bone spurs to boot.    

Now, I've got a brand new start on a fresh, bionic knee.  THANK YOU JESUS!!

The incision is healing beautifully and the PT (Physical Therapy) is moving right along.

Overall, I'm OVERWHELMED with God's goodness and excellent medical care along with an incredible medical team & especially for the loving care being given to me by my Cindy and Ariana.

So, on this lovely Saturday morning, life goes on and the BLESSINGS of GOD flow freely.

And, as I say every single day, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

STEP BY STEP....

Still dealing with a fair measure of pain, but...getting stronger and stronger each day.  PT (Physical Therapy) is going well.  

Today, Cindy will be driving me to an appointment (Post-Op) with Dr. Christopher, my Surgeon.  Things are looking good.  PRAISE GOD!!

This will be my first time out of the "Retreat Cabin" since my surgery 2 weeks ago.  Was getting just a bit of "cabin fever".  Looking forward to the ride out.

STRANGE TIMES & GOOD RECOVERY

Sitting here in my comfortable recliner, sipping a delicious cup of Gavelia (my coffee of the day) and scanning the news, I marvel at the strange and revealing stories.  

Stories ranging from Cocaine in the White House to violations of free speech, along with the ever-unfolding "Laptop".

I ponder and wander, just what is the truth and what's really going on?

Then, I remember the Words of our Lord Jesus in John 10:27...."My Sheep hear My Voice..."

So, in this ever swirling world of fast moving news stories all wrapped up in major deception..."Just what should I believe and what should I do?"

My answer is simple..."Hang on tightly to the hand of Jesus and let the Word of God rule in my heart.

Meanwhile, the pain from the knee-replacement surgery is steadily coming down and pain meds are tapering off. 

GOD IS SO GOOD!!

So, here I sit, resting in Jesus and growing in grace and healing.

DAY 13...PAIN LEVEL GOING DOWN...PRAISE GOD!!

Between good pain meds, consistent PT (Physical Therapy), and good old ice, the level of pain is beginning to go down and I'm able to cut back on the pain meds.

Right now, I'm running around Level 3-4.

I can understand how folks can become addicted to the pain meds.  I'm blessed to have my Cindy who is great Psych nurse and understands pain narcotics very well....& is keeping a close eye on me.

At any rate, I'm definitely going in the right direction and getting stronger every day.

I must also admit, it's difficult to be here at the "Retreat Cabin" and unable to "dash out the door" in a moments notice, to go to some disaster.

Now, being here at the "Retreat Cabin" is a wonderful place to be.  The peace and comfort and beauty and joy certainly promotes healing, and for that, I'm very grateful.

Tomorrow, I'll be going to see my surgeon for my Post-Op at 2 weeks.  Things are looking good.

DAY 11....& I HAVE A REQUEST...

I'm especially THANKFUL for this wonderful "Retreat Cabin" where I find healing, peace and comfort.

At the same time, I can do the routine ministry work, such as writing receipt letters and personal correspondence, as well as coordinating manufacturing more Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers where most needed.

I'd like to ask you to PRAY about something.  So many of you who are reading this "Rambling Blog" have faithfully prayed with us about so many deployments in the past.

Would you consider supporting Air Mobile Ministries on a regular basis?  This regular support would enable us to be more prepared for IMMEDIATE deployment following current disasters, as well as countries with on-going disasters.

A VERY SWEET TREAT....

I remember, as a little boy, going to my grandmother's house and eating her incredibly delicious Lemon Meringue Pie.

Well, yesterday, my sweet Cindy baked me a delicious Lemon Meringue Pie..as  delicious as my grandmothers.  A very sweet memory indeed.

On this lovely Sunday morning, I'm just going through my exercises and moving toward more complete mobility.

RE - CONNECTED & ON-TRACK

It is such a relief to be connected on-line and on-track regarding my exercise schedule.  

Of course, Physical Therapy (PT) is absolutely critical for a successful outcome.

But, the old adage..."No Pain, No Gain" holds true.

I also say....THANK GOD for good pain meds.  It helps being married to a "Psych Nurse" (my Cindy), who is keeping a very close eye on my pain-med intake.
