ESCAPING IRMA!!
Yesterday was the day the Hurston family evacuated Florida...and not too soon!
We loaded up our Ford Escape and Cindy and Ari hit the road for Tennessee. I-95 was already beginning to back up and slow down to, at times, a crawl.
I fueled the Little Donkey and took off for Tennessee with...Irma roaring toward Florida. You can see the storm clouds forming behind me.
I climbed to 16,500' and settled down to the 3 hour flight. Here, I'm pointing to the Little Donkey enroute.
You can see the "Monster", Irma just hitting the Eastern tip of Cuba. Again, I'm so thankful to have gotten out ahead of this terrible storm!
We would hate for the Little Donkey to be sitting in a hangar in Florida and damaged or destroyed by Irma.
Meanwhile, Irma is leaving a path of death and destruction. Already, Saint Martin, Puerto Rico and the Turks and Caicos have been hammered.
Nearly all projections have Irma delivering a direct blow to Miami and then proceeding all the way the Florida Peninsula.
Here's the latest - IRMA...WORST CASE SCENARIO NOW POSSIBLE FOR FLORIDA
Cindy and Ari will be arriving at the cabin later this morning. Again, so THANKFUL that we evacuated when we did.
Now, we wait and watch and do what we can to help those in the path of the storm. As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

EVACUATE!
Cindy and I have seen too much, particularly after the storm leaves, to choose to stay. It's just not worth it!
We're gathering up important documents and vital supplies and will be heading up to Tennessee later today.
Simply put, we don't want to put ourselves into a position to be RESCUED!
We want to be in a position to be able to HELP others AFTER the storm has passed.
IRMA IS A KILLER STORM OF STAGGERING STRENGTH!
Here's more - HURRICANE IRMA ON IT'S WAY TO THE BAHAMAS AS A POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC CATAGORY 5 HURRICANE; DANGEROUS THREAT FOR FLORIDA SOUTHEAST GROWING!
I'll be re-positioning the Little Donkey to get this precious tool out of harms way. Irma is a killer and not to be taken lightly.
To anyone reading this blog...if you're in the path, just EVACUATE! You'll be glad you did.
Now, I know for some reading this blog, it's not easy to just pack up and leave. However, now is the time to be creative and above all PRAY and ask our Lord to lead each step of the way!
Time to do the final packing and head away from Hurricane Irma.
THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart for your faithful and critical prayer, love and support!!

BACK TO FLORIDA....GETTING READY FOR IRMA
Brian Scott of CBN gave me a ride to the airport yesterday morning. He will remain in Houston. We bid farewell and had a word of prayer for safety and guidance.
Topped off every fuel tank and boarded the Little Donkey bound for Titusville, FL.
The 800 nautical mile flight from Conroe, TX (KCXO)) to Titusville (KTIX) had a few thunderstorms along the way, but they would be easy to get around.
Again, thankful for the extra fuel (the Little Donkey has 14 fuel tanks!).
Took off and climbed to 15,500' and actually had a small tail wind. Love those! Cruised along around 210-220 MPH.
I must admit, it was a bit difficult to leave Houston / Beaumont, as the needs are so great. But I can tell you, the Church is alive and well and rising to the occasion.
I settled down to a 5 hour flight. The Little Donkey is flying like a dream. I love this little airplane!
Upon landing in Titusville, headed straight home to my Cindy. We're getting ready for Hurricane Irma.
IRMA IS A MONSTER!!
Here's more - HURRICANE IRMA PASSING THROUGH THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AS POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC HURRICANE; DANGEROUS THREAT FOR FLORIDA SOUTHEAST
The track is still uncertain, but looks like the Islands and Florida will definitely get hit by this monster storm. We PRAY & PREPARE!!!
We, as a family PLAN TO EVACUATE. We're just not quite sure where to go. We may head to the cabin in East Tennessee.
One track has Irma actually hitting East Tennessee. We're keeping a close eye on this extremely dangerous storm!!
THANK YOU as always for being with us on this journey. We so appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

LEAVING HARVEY....PREPARING FOR IRMA
NOW is the time for Floridians and those on the U.S. East Coast to prepare....as well as the many Caribbean Islands in the path of Hurricane Irma. I must admit, it is difficult to leave Texas today, but I must.
Hurricane Irma is barreling on a westward track and that puts Florida and many Caribbean Islands right in the cross hairs of CATASTROPHE!
Here's more on Hurricane Irma - HURRICANE IRMA A DANGEROUS THREAT TO FLORIDA; SOUTHEAST U.S. - HURRICANE WARNINGS FOR LEEWARD ISLANDS, VIRGIN ISLANDS, PUERTO RICO
I plan to fly back to Florida this morning. Brian Scott and Trinity Sutton with CBN will remain behind and continue the vital relief effort in Texas.
Cindy is preparing now and we're getting as many Air Mobile Rescuers ready for what lies ahead.
Yesterday, we spent time at one of the many "Ground Zero's" left in the wake of Harvey.
We were so BLESSED to work together with the "Church On The Rock" whose Pastor, Ron Hammond, absolutely understood and embraced the Air Mobile Rescuer.
After we demonstrated the Air Mobile Rescuer, Ron immediately went into action and purchased a 550 Gallon Holding Tank. A couple of Rescuers were hooked up and began filling the big tank for immediate distribution. WOW! Texans move FAST!!
HERE'S A SHORT CLIP OF THE OPERATION AT "CHURCH ON THE ROCK" IN BEAUMONT
THE CHURCH ON THE ROCK BEAUMONT...GIVES CLEAN WATER!!
Then, they took the same model and set up another Tank fed by a couple of Air Mobile Rescuers and gave clean water...in an area that has had NO RUNNING WATER for a week and counting!
Along the way, we drove through one of the many flooded neighborhoods that went under.
We witnessed just one victim, a 91 year old World War 2 Veteran who lost it all. Family and neighbors quickly rallied to help.
I interviewed his grandson, Luke. We both cried in the interview.
Here's a clip of a young man helping an old Veteran - This story is playing out all over southeast Texas. Praise God for His grace!!
A YOUNG MAN HELPING AN OLD VETERAN!!
Folks, there is so much more that I could write now, but....it's time to pack up and fly the Little Donkey back to Florida to get ready for Hurricane Irma....winds are already 150 MPH and increasing. This is going to be a DEADLY STORM!
Now, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

HURRICANE IRMA LOOMING & THREATENING....& WORKING HARVEY....BACK TO BEAUMONT
We have been tracking Hurricane Irma and this is a POWERFUL & DANGEROUS Storm.
The projected path today has moved south, endangering Puerto Rico, Haiti, Cuba, the Bahamas and...possibly South Florida.
While here in the Houston Area, Air Mobile is making plans by preparing more Rescuers for service.
Here's more on Hurricane Irma - HURRICANE IRMA A GROWING CONCERN FOR THE U.S. - POTENTIAL THREAT LEVEL TO LEEWARD ISLANDS, PUERTO RICO, HISPANIOLA & CUBA
A number of team & planning meetings took place yesterday here in Houston, affording me a bit of "free time" at the hotel.
Took advantage of that and had breakfast with my cousin, Laura and her husband, Mark. Thankfully, they did not sustain damage from Harvey.
Was able to get some much needed rest. Then, later met with my childhood friend, Charlie and his wife Karen.
Charlie retired from the FAA and it was just so good seeing he and Karen and catching up. This was indeed a pleasant break from the disaster taking place all around us.
So, today, we're up early and preparing to return to Beaumont to check on the Church On The Rock "Clean Water Team". They pumped a lot of clean water yesterday.
We'll fly the Little Donkey there. The 30 minute flight is so much better than the 2+ hour drive (with the possibility of road closures all along the way).
The water situation in Beaumont is still critical and will be for some time - Officials are working hard to restore....here's more - BEAUMONT WATER CRISIS
Time to head out and plunge back into the disaster of Harvey. Can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

GETTING CLEAN WATER TO BEAUMONT
The destruction of Harvey is still going on. Water is still rising in places. Chemical plants are burning and folks are still evacuating.
In the midst of all of this, we loaded up the Little Donkey and flew from Conroe (KCXO) to Beaumont (KBPT)...an area desperate for clean water.
The flight only took 30 minutes. If we would have driven, it would have been hours because of the many road blocks.
We were met there by member of the Church On The Rock. We had 5 Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers.
After arriving at the Church, we saw tremendous movements of food, formula, diapers, bottled water and so much more to the needy. This Church is AMAZING in their outreach!!
Then, we met Pastor Ron Hammond. Ron and his great church have put in water wells all around the world with CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network).
They understand and know the need for clean water! I then had the opportunity to explain the Air Mobile Rescuer and how it works. THEY GOT IT!
Literally, within the hour, the church was securing a large water tank, extra hoses and putting into place the ability to take the highly contaminated tap water and turn it into very clean drinking water! WOW!!
After careful prayer and consideration, we decided to present 2 more Air Mobile Rescuers to the Church On The Rock!
BTW, Pastor Ron is also a pilot and really loved the Little Donkey!! I know that our paths will meet again!!
After this strategic deployment of Rescuers, we flew back to Conroe, our staging area.
Along the way, we could see rivers literally rising. On the flight earlier, we noted their levels and in a matter of hours, they had risen. The DISASTER of HARVEY is on-going!!
Here are a few more shots taken from the Little Donkey on the flight from Conroe to Beaumont and back.
I want to THANK Brian Scott of CBN for joining me on this journey. I particularly want to THANK CBN for funding these 7 Air Mobile Rescuers to bring clean water to those in such need!!
Today, I'll be meeting with some of my family who live in the area. We'll see what this day holds. As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

DODGING HARVEY....FIGHTING 50 KNOT HEADWINDS....ARRIVED IN HOUSTON!
Brian, Trinity and I arrived at the Space Coast Regional Airport....with the mission to fly to Houston. Did our final load, pre-flight and PRAYER.
I pushed the throttles forward, rolled down the runway, reached rotation speed and we are up.
Would the landing gear function as designed? I retracted the landing gear and VOILA! They came up perfectly. We were on our way to Houston!
In the wake of Harvey, there were multiple build-ups. We had to make significant deviations to get around them.
And....we were fighting 40-50 knot headwinds. This was going to be a long flight. Brian did capture a rainbow.
Our fuel reserve would be low upon arrival. I decided to make a fuel stop in my old "Stomping Grounds"....Baton Rouge.
Other than long (over 6 hours), we had a lovely and smooth flight.
While on the ground in Baton Rouge, I phoned my dear friend, Stan Brock of Remote Area Medical (RAM). He had already flown into Conroe, TX.
Upon landing, he was there by the RAM King Air. We discussed the situation and as is usually the case, things are very fluid. Needs come up fast and it is an ever moving target.
We sat and discussed what was going on and how CBN, Remote Area Medical (RAM) and Air Mobile we can help.
Brian had arranged for the CBN Church Partner Liasons to meet us and discuss the situation on the ground.
The devastation is so vast and the needs are so great. We met for hours discussing what is happening and how we can best serve.
BTW, a local church paid for our Hotel room in Houston and took us out to a lovely dinner. I love how the Church and Body of Christ come together to help those in need.
Today, our plan is to fly to Beaumont where the entire water system has been shut down.
We saw helicopters loading bottled water and flying them to Beaumont.
We hope to find ways that the Air Mobile Rescuer can be used. We are entering now into the devastation. We PRAY for our Lord to lead us where He wants us to serve!!
Time to head to airport and seek authorization to make the 25 minute flight to Beaumont. BTW, if we attempted to drive, it could take many hours. So glad we have the Little Donkey!
Also....so THANKFUL to have you with us with your faithful love, prayer and support!!

HARVEY STILL WREAKING HAVOC....AN UNEXPECTED DELAY &.....HERE COMES IRMA
Yesterday, we arrived at Space Coast Regional Airport all ready to go to Houston. Put a final top-off of fuel in and prayed for a safe journey to Houston.
Our Team of Brian and Trinity of CBN boarded the Little Donkey. We were off to Houston, or so we thought.
We roared down the runway, had a smooth lift off and....the landing gear failed to retract.
Had to return to base. Called Paul, our mechanic and we inspected the system carefully.
Had the local ABC affiliate there to capture the moment. Here's the interview.
CHANNEL 9 - ABC - INTERVIEWS AIR MOBILE JOE
So, today, we're heading back to the airport to try again.
BTW, after the inspection and a few tweaks on the Little Donkey, Paul and I did a successful test flight and retracted the landing gear 4 times with success.
As we prepare to plunge into the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey, we're keeping a very close eye on Hurricane Irma.
This looking like a MONSTER. Here's more - HURRICANE IRMA BECOMING DEADLY CAT 5 HURRICANE!

THE NIGHTMARE OF HURRICANE HARVEY....UNFOLDING
We knew Hurricane Harvey was going to be bad, but those expectations have been exceeded!
The "Nightmare" is just beginning as fierce winds blow, water rapidly rises and tornadoes ravage.
Harvey came ashore with 130 MPH winds and as much as 40" of rain is expected in some areas. We haven't seen a storm of this magnitude in many years.
Massive destruction and injuries are beginning to be reported. We PRAY for those in the path and the wake of this deadly storm!
Even AFTER landfall, Harvey is still a hurricane with winds of 90-100 MPH.
And...Harvey is moving SLOWLY dumping unbelievable
amounts of rain causing major flooding and deadly storm surges.
Many, many folks are going to be left homeless and those in the path are still in grave danger.

HURRICANE HARVEY .... DEADLY ....EVACUATE!
As Hurricane Harvey approaches landfall, it is growing in strength. This is deadly and terrible situation for all in the "Strike Zone". If you're in the area, PLEASE EVACUATE!
This is the worst storm to hit this region of Texas in 47 years. Harvey is a "PERFECTLY DREADFUL STORM".
The slow movement will bring Apocalyptic flooding...projected 35+" in some areas. Add to that winds in excess of 120mph and throw in tornadoes. This storm is a killer!
This whole region will be dramatically impacted and there is a very good chance of loss of life. Can't emphasize how important it is to just get out of the way of this terrible storm!
May I encourage all who are out of the "Strike Zone" to PRAY for those who are. PRAYER IS POWERFUL.
We are standing by to see what we can do to help after Hurricane Harvey leaves. We knew that this was going to be a very active season and....it's not over with yet!

DINNER WITH A DEAR FRIEND & MEETING A "REDHEAD"
I met Joe Polozola in the 10th grade in Geometry Class....nearly 50 years ago, at Baton Rouge High. We've been best friends ever since.
The best thing about Joe is, he led me to Jesus, as my Lord and Savior. THANK YOU, JOE!
We regularly get together, just he and I at a little Italian Restaurant in Longwood, FL. There, we catch up and above all, we PRAY together.
Hanging outside the door are a number of lovely "Redheads". Here's a shot of one.
These lovely "Birds" seem to be particularly attracted to Joe.
When we do get together, we often reminiscence about when we first met in Mr. Snoddy's Geometry Class.
Joe had a 1967 Chevelle SS396. That was a very fast car.
Not to be outdone, I had a 1966 Triumph 650 TR-6.
Those were days of...."Muscle Cars" and somewhat fast motorcycles.
Motorcycles today are much faster than they were in 1967.
I thank God for giving me a good friend and our friendship has stood the test of time.
I'm reminded of Proverbs 17:17...
Joe and I have prayed for one another through many battles and victories.
Do you have such a friend? If so, may I encourage you to reach out to them today.
Shoot them a text, or an e-mail or just pick up the phone and let them know how much you appreciate them. You'll be glad you did!!
So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated love, prayer and support!!

We reached the "Mission Accomplished" level and, it was time to go home. We had a good inventory of Air Mobile Rescuers in position for the next storm(s) that were potentially heading to Haiti.
Ari was able to spend wonderful time with her biological parents and Cindy was able to give her Dad a grand party.
Now, another storm was brewing right off the north coast of Haiti and...it was time to dash out with it right on our heels.
There were multiple deaths and injuries from those riots that had blocked our route. We're EVER THANKFUL for His divine protection!!
After a good pre-flight we prayed and were ready for departure.
Here's a short clip from the cockpit just before take off.
We climbed to 14,500' and saw the towering storms ahead. but we were able to easily circum-navigate them. Glad we departed when we did.
Despite the instability all around, we had a smooth and lovely flight home.
Behind us, in the tropics, a series of storms are brewing. The latest named one is Tropical Storm Harvey and it's expected to gain Hurricane status soon.
Here's more on this increasingly active Hurricane Season - TROPICAL STORM HARVEY IS DRENCHING THE WINDWARD ISLANDS; 2 OTHER AREAS ARE BEING MONITORED FOR TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT
Oh, it's good to be home. Truly, our Lord was with us each step of the way on this mission to Haiti.
THANK YOU, as always for your sweet and precious prayer, love and support!!

SEPARATED BY A RIOT....
While Cindy baked a Birthday Cake for her Dad, riots were brewing right outside her village and spilled onto the national highway.
Our plan was....after I finished up getting a good inventory of Air Mobile Rescuers refurbished (had a "full clip" of Rescuers ready to "Go"!), I would drive out west of Port-au-Prince to meet Cindy and her Dad and friends for a grand party at small beach resort.
Well...that didn't happen. Instead, the main artery highway was completely closed because fighting had broken out between 2 small towns and there were multiple shootings.
I was stuck. Cindy was on one side of the fighting and I, on the other. Here's a little clip telling more -
I retreated several kilometers to a safe location and waited. It took about an hour, but finally, the road was somewhat cleared and I made it to Cindy's village and the party went on!
Friends did show up and Ron blew out the 80 candles (kind of) and we all sang Happy Birthday.
BTW, there are 3 storms that are brewing and will likely become "Named Storms".
We are in for a heck of a season. Here's more on those 3 "brewing" storms - 3 SEPARATE ATLANTIC WAVES MAY BECOME TROPICAL STORMS
After the party, Cindy, Ari and I made it back to Port-au-Prince SAFE & SOUND! Praise God!!
Today will be another adventure. We'll stay close to Jesus.
As always, and I mean this with all of my hearty, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

A GRAND PARTY IN HAITI & TRAINING A NEW WATER MULE
Yesterday began with a road trip out west in Haiti. There, we met Cindy's Dad, Ron, who began doing mission work in Haiti 35 years ago.
Well, today is his 80th birthday and he decided to celebrate this great day with a PARTY IN HAITI!
BTW, it was Ron who first introduced me to my Cindy. THANK YOU, RON!!
Cindy and Ari will be baking the birthday cake and arranging for this noted Birthday celebration in Haiti.
After bringing Cindy and Ari to Ron, I headed back to Bon Repos and continued refurbishing Air Mobile Rescuers.
I was joined in "Joe's Depot" with Mike. He and his family has come to spend a week in the "Village" working with Barbara.
I "recruited" Mike into training to become a genuine Air Mobile Water Mule. He gladly accepted the offer.
We spent the day bringing Rescuer after Rescuer back to life. Some of the units have been in Haiti in operation for nearly 14 years. Yet, they are simple to completely refurbish and continue to give fresh, clean drinking water from the most contaminated source. Praise God!!
There is one Rescuer in particular that has a deep blue Ultra Violet chamber. It is truly a "One of a kind" Rescuer and of course, it is specifically designated for operation in Barb's Village.
I love working on this unit and gladly presented it back to our "Lady in the Blue Dress". Yes, I love my job!!
Will be wrapping up the Rescuer Refurbishment operation this morning and then heading over the Ron's 80th Birthday Party!
We now enough Rescuers in position to be ready should one of this wicked storms decide to visit Haiti.
You can see from this image that a "Parade" of storms are brewing and heading our way. Definitely time to PREPARE and get ready with clean water!
Here's more - PARADE OF EAST ATLANTIC TROPICAL WAVES...MAY BECOME NEXT STORM(S)
As always, THANK YOU for you precious prayer, love and support!!

"SKIRTING" BESIDE TROPICAL STORM GERT....& THE "GIFT" OF ARI
This Hurricane Season is living up to the forecasts. It's going to be very busy! Tropical Storm Gert became "Hurricane Gert" yesterday.
We knew that the Air Mobile Rescuer inventory was getting low and....IF we were going to Haiti, best get going "sooner than later".
So....yesterday morning, long before the sun rose, Cindy, Ari and I prayed and boarded the Little Donkey and struck out for Haiti.
Our route to Haiti was clear, but just barely. Off to the east of our course was Tropical Storm & soon to be Hurricane Gert.
We enjoyed the beautiful Caribbean Sunrise as we passed beside that brewing storm.
It was such a joy to share this ride with my Cindy. Ari was sleeping in the back.
BTW, we just received Ari's Passport allowing her to travel with us.
We flew at 15,000' and the ride was smooth. The Little Donkey did well.
We landed in Haiti and quickly cleared the authorities and headed to the "Village".
There, our Ari met her biological parents.
Ari was very ill at birth and needed life-saving surgery. Through a series of miracles and extreme generosity, she received the operations that saved her life in the U.S..
Then, her parents, who were very poor, asked Cindy and I if we would adopt Ari. What a story of love.
Yesterday, we met her Haiti Mom and Dad. It was a lovely day of sharing stories and just experiencing deep love.
Then, it was off to "Joe's Depot" to refurbish Air Mobile Rescuers...in advance of the next storm.
BTW...another Storm is brewing off the coast of Africa and heading this way. Yes, this is a BUSY SEASON!!
Here's more - ANOTHER STORM BREWING... So, here we are in Haiti "battening down the hatches" and getting ready.
THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!

EARLY...WILL I SEEK THEE
With all of the craziness going on in the world....Nuclear threats, race riots and storms brewing, I find the best thing to do is get up early, seek the Lord and have a good cup of coffee.
Now, that's the way to start the day!
The Psalmist David certainly had his share of trouble. His secret for navigating through turbulent waters was to rise up early and seek the Lord. THANK YOU, DAVID!
Here's Psalm 63 - PSALM 63 KJV There is something so sweet about the quiet and peaceful time before the sun rises. I just love it!
This Hurricane Season is shaping up to be quite busy. Tropical Storm Gert is gaining strength, but not a threat to the U.S.
However, there is another system roaring off the coast of Africa that may cause trouble. We're watching.
Now, is a good time to begin preparing for it. Here's more - ATLANTIC AREA TO WATCH 91L - BEARS WATCHING FOR DEVELOPMENT
I like what Billy Graham had to say about...PRAYING FOR OUR LEADERS.
So, it's time to get on with this day that our Lord has made.

THE "SEASON" & AMERICA....HEATING UP
Hurricane Season is heating up. Been tracking this disturbance to the east of the Bahamas.
Looks as if the U.S. will dodge this bullet, but is indicative of the basic instability in the atmosphere.
It's time to "batten down the hatches" and get ready for stormy season. Now, is a good time to prepare.
Here's more on this Tropical Depression - TROPICAL DEPRESSION EXPECTED TO BECOME TROPICAL STORM "GERT"
Speaking of "STORMS"....What kind of hatred and madness has erupted in Virginia?
What did Adolph Hitler bring to the world?? Death and destruction!
Let us PRAY for America that this HATRED be overcome with God's LOVE!!
The truth is...AMERICA NEEDS JESUS!!
And speaking of God's LOVE, I met with a couple of dear friends, Margaret and John at McDonalds in Cocoa, FL.
There, they transferred baby food and formula for orphans in Haiti. Now, that is sharing God's LOVE! Thank you, Margaret and John.
Today, will be taking the Little Donkey for a little jaunt around the patch. Need to be sure that bird is READY TO GO!!
THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

14 HOURS LATER....
Through rain and storms, the little Red Escape made it all the way back to Florida. Pulled into our drive at 3:00am. It was a loooong day!
Normally, on this drive, there are beautiful scenic views of mountains and valleys. The only thing I saw was low hanging clouds and plenty of rain. Missed my views along the way.
It's good to be home. So glad to see my Cindy and Ari!
Moving a bit slowly this morning, on just a few hours sleep. In just a few hours, plan to meet Margaret and John of the Church of Christ. They have a nice load of baby food and formula for the orphans in Haiti.
We typically meet at a McDonalds, the half way point for us both.
So THANKFUL for folks who care about the orphans. This brings joy to our Savior.
Remember when He said....."I was hungry and you gave Me to eat....When you've done it unto the least of these...."
Will also be taking the Little Donkey around the "Patch". Want to make sure all is well before "Launching" our next mission. It's good to have the little bird...."Ready to Go"!
As I say every single day, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PACKING & LOADING & ROLLING....
The little Red Escape is about to roll to Florida. It's a 12 hour drive...if there are no road delays. I'm doing a final pack, clean and load this morning.
It is with mixed feelings that I leave the little retreat cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.
The pace of living up here is just different and it's sweet and it gives ample time and place to get quiet and spend amazing time with the Father.
But I know that Cindy and Ari await me in Florida and it's time to head home. And...I just miss them!
Looks like Hurricane season is heating up and that means storms are coming. Time to get ready.
The "Stand-off" with North Korea is boiling and could "Blow" at any minute. We PRAY that sanity prevails!!

FINAL DAY AT THE CABIN.....
If all goes as planned, will be on the road back to Florida tomorrow. Going to miss the cabin...but, it's time to get back.
Cindy and Ari are already back in Florida. Ari had her first day of school yesterday. She's now in the 6th grade and...loving school (may that continue!).
Looks like we're going to have a pretty active Hurricane Season this year.
All the more reason to get back to Florida and begin preparing for storms ahead.
NOAA is predicting between 14-19 named storms before this season ends. This could be a "wicked season"!
Here's more on those Predictions....NOAA SAYS HURRICANE SEASON WILL BE WORSE THAT FIRST PREDICTED
Between upcoming storms and fiery threats of war, thought it a good idea to stock up on a little extra fuel here at the cabin. Always a good idea.
Our pear tree at the cabin is full of delicious fruit...no need to leave it behind for the deer. Picked a bushel to bring back to Florida.
BTW, remarkable doors are opening for our upcoming mission to South Sudan. We've been "Waiting on the Lord" to lead us back there.
Again, "pieces" are coming together. THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

IN THE MIDST OF WORLD TENSION....THE DANCE OF THE HUMMINGBIRDS
You've, no doubt, been hearing and seeing the incredible "Stand-off" between the U.S. and North Korea.
Fiery words are flying and threats of "Nuclear Annihilation". Not since JFK and Cuban Missile Crisis have I heard such words.
Here's what I mean....TRUMP TAKES KIM TO THE "BRINK"....AMERICA & NORTH KOREA ARE LOCKED IN AN EXTRAORDINARY "STAND-OFF"
Folks, this is our time to PRAY!! We need to PRAY for the world leaders to exercise restraint and seek God's wisdom in these dangerous times.
Yes, I guess a pilot looks at hummingbirds in a different light than most. What an amazing "flying machine"! In the midst of all of this world tension, the hummingbirds bring me a bit of joy and wonder.
Had a wonderful meeting with my good friend, Stan Brock of Remote Area Medical (RAM) yesterday.
Drove over to Knoxville, TN and we continued our planning for the next Mission to South Sudan. Critical pieces are coming together and when the time is right, we'll launch.
The rains have stopped here...for the moment and sun is out. Time to get to work, wrapping up things here at the Retreat cabin before returning to Florida.
As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

THE ROAD TO....KNOXVILLE & MORE GOOD NEWS ABOUT COFFEE!!
This morning, I'll be driving to Knoxville to meet with my good friend and fellow "Rescuer", Stan Brock of Remote Area Medical (RAM).
We've cooperated with RAM all around the world and most recently in South Sudan.
We're gathering our forces to return to that region and bring in clean water, food and medical care.
In order to launch our next mission, certain elements must come together for the mission to be a success. The puzzle pieces are beginning to click into place.
I'm looking forward to being with my friend, Stan, today.
BTW, if you're not familiar with Stan, here's a brief Bio on his many accomplishments - MEET STAN BROCK
Here's more good news about coffee. This study shows that the remarkable "brew" can fix so many things in our bodies from liver cancer to dementia and so much more.
Now, I knew that coffee was good, but didn't realize that it was that good!
Mmmmm, I wonder if a guy who walks with a little donkey with a couple of sacks of Colombian coffee beans on it's back is not behind this study (just kidding)?
I've always liked the "Jaun Valdez commercials (the old folks reading this blog will know what I'm talking about).
I think I'll have a second cup. Of course, I do that every morning. Yes, I LOVE COFFEE!!
Here's more on this remarkable study - COFFEE CAN HELP YOU LIVE LONGER...AND FIGHT DISEASE!!
So, it's time for me to "Hit the Road...to Knoxville". As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support.

WHAT ABOUT NORTH KOREA??
Watching the latest developments on North Korea...it's becoming increasing clear that this could get ugly, very rapidly. Folks, the world is dealing with a madman who has his finger on the button that just could erupt into a major war.
Here's what I mean....REVENGE WILL BE THOUSAND FOLD...NORTH KOREA VOWS TO ATTACK AMERICA...
This rogue nation is pointing loaded guns at a number of nations and not only threatening to shoot, but is actually pushing the button again and again.
It appears to be just a matter of time (and it may be short) that counter actions (beyond Sanctions) will be taken.
This is a matter that we should all take seriously and PRAY for a peaceful resolution. Remember, WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!
Meanwhile, it's a rainy day here at the Retreat Cabin. Looks like it's going to rain all day...with the possibility of flooding.
It's a good day to just stay in and listen to the Word of God. Tomorrow, I plan to drive to Knoxville and meet with Stan Brock of Remote Area Medical (RAM).
We're planning our next outreach to South Sudan and beyond. It's a good thing to be READY and have the pieces in position.
Again, I urge you to take some time today and PRAY for the leaders of the world to have wisdom and God's direction regarding North Korea. This is a very VOLATILE situation.
And...as always, THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with us. We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!

CINDY & ARI ARRIVE IN FLORIDA....YEA! & IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, GO SEE DUNKIRK!
After a lovely visit to the famous Biltmore Mansion in Asheville, Cindy and Ari trekked the rest of the way to Florida without incident. Thank God for traveling mercy.
My my, what beautiful girls!!
I spent yesterday cutting down trees and clearing out brush. It's good to work hard....clears out the arteries and the mind. Love it here...in the mountains of East Tennessee!
I made a little video and sent it to Cindy. Here it is:
After the hard day of work, rewarded myself by going to see Dunkirk. What a powerful movie about facing a daunting enemy with courage and resilience.
If you get a chance, I urge you to go see it. You'll see what I mean.
This morning, was pleasantly surprised to receive a note from Anderson.
Anderson was in the "Ruuska Village" during the Haiti earthquake. He was my "Water Purifier" assistant during those terrible days immediately following the killer quake (He was around 11 years old).
He sent me a note asking how I was doing. I remember this bright young man so well. He not only was eager to learn....he was very good at operating the Air Mobile Rescuer. He was adopted by a loving family here in America.
Well, he told me that he graduated from High School and is now a certified welder. WOW!
What a fine young man who loves Jesus and is willing to serve others! Go Anderson.
BTW, I offered to meet up with him when he next goes to Haiti to visit. This is a sample of the awesome work that Barbara has done over the years!
Well, it's time to get ready for church here in TN. Cindy and Ari will be conducting services at the hospital in Orlando.

ALL ALONE AT THE CABIN....
I have mixed feelings. It was difficult to see Cindy and Ari drive away. It's time to get Ari ready for school in Florida.
Will surely miss them. But...this time of reflection and prayer and solitude, here at the Retreat Cabin, is sweet.
I'll be here for a few more days and then...heading back to Florida.
As I sit here this morning writing this meandering blog, and look out over our exquisite valley, my heart is at peace.
Today....I'll just rest and...putter around. Oh, there's plenty to keep me busy here, so I'll just take my liberty and knock out a few chores.
Cindy and Ari made a stop in Asheville, NC and will be visiting the Biltmore Estate this morning. They'll have fun doing that.
So, it's time to get on with this beautiful day. May even go see a movie this evening. Heard that "Dunkirk" is quite spectacular.

BON VOYAGE TO CINDY AND ARI
This morning, my Cindy and Ari are hitting the road for Florida. It's time to get Ari ready for school.
I'll be staying back at the Retreat Cabin for another week. Yes, it's a "tough" job...but somebody has to do it (however, I will miss my Cindy and Ari!)
We're in the middle of a few construction projects and I'll be able to travel to Knoxville for sit-down meetings with Stan Brock of RAM (Remote Area Medical). We're in the next phase of our outreach to South Sudan....aptly named...RAM AIR MOBILE RELIEF.
So, it's time to do the final load and bid farewell to my beloved. Please remember to PRAY for Cindy and Ari to have a wonderful and safe journey back to Florida.

GREENS & BEANS....mmmm
One thing about the mountains of East TN....you can get a mess of greens in almost any grocery store.
We hit the jackpot of mustard greens and kale. My Cindy cooked them like a proper Southern girl. Love my Cindy!
Those greens, along with a pot of 13 bean soup, mmmm. Now, that's living!!
Cindy and Ari will be heading back to Florida tomorrow. I'll be staying on at the Retreat Cabin for another week.
Will be in meetings with Stan Brock of Remote Area Medical (RAM) in Knoxville, TN.
We're putting the details together for our next outreach to South Sudan.
Today, will be buying a small box freezer to store up cooked greens and beans. Glad to have the back up generator / solar to keep that little freezer cold in the event of a blackout.
Time to head out. THANK YOU, as always for your prayer, love and support!!

SEEKING WISDOM....
For the Lord gives wisdom to those who seek. As we plan our next missions, above all, Cindy and I seek His Wisdom and Direction and Understanding.
Just sitting on the porch of the cabin and sipping coffee, in the cool of the morning, watching the clouds come close enough to touch, and the humming birds dart about, we seek to hear Him.
There are needs always, but which ones are we to address? When do we go and where do we go? Those answers are in His hands.
We'll continue to refresh and recharge and do some chores around the cabin.
For now, it's "All Hands on Deck" as Cindy and I put a new coat of stain on the front porch.
There will always be work to be done. We'll just wait on the Lord and let Him direct our path.
Cindy's making a big pot of mustard greens and 13 bean soup. Good eatin in the mountains of East TN. God is good!!
THANK YOU, as always, for our prayer, love and support!!!

COORDINATED FLIGHT PATHS & LANDINGS & LEARNING TO "LEAN"
Some of us just like to fly. I don't know, perhaps (most likely), our Lord has put into our hearts (the aviators).
How one can get so much joy out of just watching these delicate little creatures flit and flutter & hover about on tiny, rapidly moving wings. It is a wonder and a marvelous show in the early morning.
Yesterday, Cindy and Ari had a lovely time hiking the "Pioneer Trail" at Wilderness Road State Park.
Then, they climbed to the Tri-State Peak of Cumberland Gap. There, they could see Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky. I was alone at the cabin.
Often, while planning mission outreaches, one encounters obstacles. These can weigh heavily upon your heart. Such was the case for me yesterday.
I sat at my computer and just didn't know which way to go. I sensed our Lord urging me to leave the computer, go find a pretty spot and ponder Him and His goodness.
I did just that. Found the spot and sat. It was absolutely beautiful. I sensed that He was working and I just needed to lean upon Him to work out the details.
Spent nearly 2 hours finding places where the deer cross and the turkeys roam. Looked for another source of water and found what could be an underground river.
My mind left the "Obstacles" and simply roamed the land and enjoyed the view.
Upon returning to the cabin. I noted that several critical players on these missions had contacted me and the obstacles have begun to move out of the way.
Praise God for His goodness, grace and power. So often, we need to just...."Let go and let God"!
The journey continues and we have another beautiful day here at the "Retreat Cabin".
What wonders will unfold? What details will be worked out? I'm not sure, but I'm holding tightly onto His hand!
THANK YOU, as always for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!
