FINALLY.....SOME GOOD SLEEP!

The thing about most long international flights, (unless you're Business or First Class) is that you are sitting...and can't recline.

No matter how you try to "position" yourself, you're still sitting and this....does not lead to relaxing sleep.

After our long journey to India 35+ hours, we finally were able to LAY DOWN!

Oh my, what glorious, sweet sleep resulted.  Cindy, Ari and I awoke feeling somewhat renewed.

Now....we have to deal with the 9.5 hour time difference between India time and Eastern U.S. time.  But, that's another issue.....JET LAG.

What makes all of this work is COFFEE!  Thanks to our handy electric tea kettle (240 volts) and Instant 3 in 1 coffee (coffee-sugar-cream all in 1 packet) from Viet Nam (thanks to my good friend Joe Prussel), we're able to make our own coffee in our room here in India.  Life is GOOD!

Our hotel does not serve breakfast, but we're covered with a full range of breakfast snacks. It's good to be prepared!

While awaiting Sam, Cindy and Ari worked in a game of "Rummy".  It's good bring a deck of cards with you for "waiting".

Our schedule will be full today between bringing our gifts (hygiene kits & goodies) to the children  (AKA:  The "Untouchables").

We'll be conducting training and trouble shooting on the 4 Air Mobile Rescuers that we have here.

For now, we're refreshed and ready to go.  Sam and Team will be here in a few minutes.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU!!!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - I just received this wonderful "Report" from Bonnie regarding the "RESCUE".  What an amazing story of God's Amazing Grace and Romans 8:28!!

HE IS RISEN....& WE HAVE ARRIVED....IN INDIA!!

After nearly 36 hours of hard travel, Cindy, Ari and I arrived In Ongole India on Easter Sunday!  PRAISE GOD!

We had a warm reception and even a lovely "Banner" from Sam and his precious family.

All of our flights went very well and were right on time.  Our road trip from Hyderabad to Ongole India went smoothly, though quite long.

As I write this rambling blog, I'm a bit delirious as have had only little snippets of sleep these past 36 hours.

We NEVER take our Lord's Traveling Mercies for granted.

Every single last item arrived in perfect condition.  India Customs and Immigration was gracious and we're just THANKFUL to finally be here in India!

We PRAY that you have a BLESSED EASTER!

We have so much for which to CELEBRATE!

HE IS ALIVE!!!!!

Dear Lord Jesus, THANK YOU for coming into this world to pay the price for all of our sins and give us NEW LIFE!!

Tomorrow, we hit the ground running delivering vital supplies and gifts.  Will be servicing 4 Air Mobile Rescuers and so much more.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

3-31-18 Saturday 8:35PM (Dubai Time)  - Dubai International - Air Mobile "On-The-Move" - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

A LONG JOURNEY BEGINS....

We began our trek to India yesterday afternoon (Good Friday) with a 4 hour drive to South FL.  When we finally arrive in India (by God's Amazing Grace), we will have traveled 35+ hours (with no break-downs along the way).

We flew out of Fort Lauderdale (FLL) because they had great airfares to India.

We arrived at FLL Airport with large load (over 600 pounds!) that included 500 hygiene kits along with dolls and matchbox cars & other goodies for some very special children!

BTW, here's more on what we're doing - HUNGER IS NOT A GAME!!!

We also have supplemental ingredients to give our feeding program meals a huge boost.  THANK YOU, Bob Bostic and "Deliver the Difference"!

We'll also be servicing the 3 Air Mobile Rescuers that we delivered to Sam and his precious family several years ago.

From FLL, our next leg took 14 hours.  We just landed in Dubai.  We're awaiting to board for India, a 4 hour flight.

Then....it'll be a 10 hour train ride.  India is FAR FAR AWAY!

Due to the 10+ time differences, the "Rambling Blog" will post at strange hours.  It will also depend upon good WIFI connections.

It's time to head to our gate.  We're extremely THANKFUL having you along with us on this journey.  Your precious prayer, love and support are invaluable!!!

GOOD FRIDAY....DEPARTURE

Our departure day has arrived.  We're packed and ready to head to the airport.

Each suitcase is full of blessings for those who are in such desperate need.  We're THANKFUL to be able to do this...for the "Least of these"

We'll not be publishing exact details of our travel itinerary to India....for security purposes.

When this mission is finished, we will have circled the globe.

We're especially THANKFUL to be traveling on Good Friday.

We'll be in India on Easter.  What a wonderful way to celebrate the  Resurrection of our Lord Jesus!!!

I must tell you that my Cindy has done an AMAZING job of putting this "Mission to India" together.

And so many have contributed the wonderful gifts that we're bringing.

Now, once in India, there will be a 10 hour time difference, so this "rambling, daily" blog may be coming to you at strange hours.

Time to do a final pack and check before departing.  THANK YOU, as I tell you every single day, for your INVALUABLE PRAYER, LOVE & SUPPORT!!!

LESS NEWS....MORE "WORD"!

Several days ago, I admitted to being a "News Junkie".  Well, it's true.  I am.  (Scroll down to 3-24-18 for my News Junkie Expose')

However, just getting it out and laying it on the table has helped me quite a lot these last few days.

I've just "throttled back" on the amount of newscasts that I take it in.  Most of it is quite "negative" and very questionable in truth.

So....this has allowed more time to simply read or listen to the Word of God.  Guess what?

My heart is in better shape and I see the news in a slightly different light.  I keep going back to the end of the Book (Revelation) and WE WIN!

I find myself longing for our Lord Jesus to Come Back to this earth.  Oh, WE NEED YOU, LORD JESUS!

As you know, Cindy, Ari and I are departing tomorrow for India.  Cindy and I are happy that Ari will be joining us.  She has a "Missionary Heart" and loves serving others!

We're traveling on Good Friday.  I'm glad for that, as it puts us into a "Reflective Mood".  One where we're thinking of just what our Lord Jesus did for us on the Cross.  We'll celebrate Easter in India.  PRAISE GOD!

I can't begin to tell you how THANKFUL we are to be able to GO to help....THE LEAST OF THESE!!

Here's a link that tells more of who we will be ministering to - HUNGER IS NOT A GAME!!!

Today, we'll be putting the final load together and weighing each and every piece to stay within limits.

We're especially THANKFUL to you, who stand with us with your invaluable PRAYER, LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!

PACK & LOAD....HYGIENE KITS & SO MUCH MORE

We're in the final phase of preparing for our upcoming Mission to India.  Cindy, Ari and I depart on Good Friday. We're excited.

So many of our neighbors and friends have helped us put together over 500 hygiene kits, and toys and simple and wonderful gifts for a group of people that are called the "Untouchables"*.

Though "Society" may consider them as the lowest class, our Lord sees them in a totally different light.

Jesus tells us...."When you've done it unto the least of these...you've done it unto Me"!

Who are the "Untouchables"??  Here's a bit of info on these "precious ones"!

*More than 240 million people in India are called “Untouchables.” Also known as “non- humans”, these people are believed to be unclean by birth.

They are the Dalits. The word means “crushed” or “broken to pieces.”
Although  India’s national constitution of 1950 sought to abolish caste discrimination and the practice of untouchability, the caste system remains deeply entrenched in Hindu culture throughout southern Asia, especially in rural India. In what has been called India’s “hidden apartheid,” entire Dalit villages in many Indian states remain completely segregated by caste.

These people suffer unthinkable acts of terror and pain. If only the shadow of a Dalit falls upon a member of the upper caste, that person must go home, bathe and wash his clothes. Anyone who is accidentally touched by a Dalit is considered tainted. It is not uncommon for Dalits to be beaten, abused, raped or even killed without remedy or interest in bringing perpetrators to justice. Their children are kidnapped and sold as sex or work slaves. They live in isolation.(from Pannavati.org)

This is the population we have focused our attention on to bring safe clean water, hot nourishing meals and an encouraging word. We want them to know that they are loved and precious.

4 years ago, Cindy came across a Christian group in India who were reaching out to the "Untouchables".

So, we are about to embark on our 4th Mission to India to work with Sam and his wonderful family.  We count it such a privilege to be able to do this!

We're so THANKFUL to have you on-board with us as we travel on this journey to share the Love of our Lord Jesus with these.  Your invaluable prayer, love and support is vital and we just want you to know how much we appreciate you!!!

INDIA BOUND....ON GOOD FRIDAY

Cindy and I have been squeezing the air out of the hygiene kits and packing as much as we can to stay within our size and weight limits for India.

We plan to depart this coming Friday, GOOD FRIDAY!   We'll be in India on EASTER SUNDAY!  PRAISE GOD!

We'll be bringing in 500 of these kits along with parts and supplies to keep the Air Mobile Rescuers pumping clean water.

We're also bringing in the special ingredients to supplement the meals for our feeding program.  We're looking forward to seeing Sam and his family.

I can't begin to tell you what a BLESSING it is to bring clean water, food and the Love of Jesus to...."The Least of these".

CELEBRATING AN OPEN DOOR ON PALM SUNDAY!!

What a lovely day!  We attended our home Church (Redeemer) where Pastor Gary delivered a wonderful message on the Cross.

We then went to the Hospital in Orlando to share the GOOD NEWS of JESUS.  I'm reminded of the Scripture in Matthew 25:36.... "I was sick you visited Me...."

Sharing the story of Palm Sunday is a blessing!!

Our Air Mobile Team  conducted 4 separate services (as we do every Sunday) at the Hospital.

We are so THANKFUL for the OPEN DOOR to go into the hospital and share the Gospel.  We NEVER take that for granted!

With our Lord's help and wonderful volunteers we've conducted Sunday services at this Hospital for over 20 years.  PRAISE GOD!!

After the Hospital Ministry, we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Winter Park, FL.  Mmmmm!

We were joined by our daughter Angelica, who lives in Orlando.  What a sweet way to celebrate Palm Sunday and the Open Door at the Hospital!

This week, we'll be preparing for our India Mission.  We'll depart on Good Friday.

To learn more about this upcoming mission and what we do, go to:  HUNGER IS NOT A GAME!

Well, it's time to head out and buy some more suitcases for the 500 Hygiene Kits and all the other goodies we'll be bringing to these precious children.

THANK YOU, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

PALM SUNDAY....HOSANNA TO THE KING OF KINGS!

Today, we celebrate Palm Sunday.

Our Lord Jesus came into this world as the Lamb of God to take away our sins.  THANK YOU, JESUS!!

After we attend our Church (Redeemer) this morning, we'll go to the Hospital in Orlando and share the story of Palm Sunday.

We'll bring a gift of a simple cross made from Palm fronds.

What a wonderful reminder of what it all means.  We are lost without Jesus.  Jesus came into this world that we might have life.  He paid the price for all of our sins on the cross.

Now, that is GOOD NEWS!!

Our dear friends, Dennis and Barbara West came by yesterday.  Barb joined Cindy and Ari as they were making the Palm Crosses.

The story of Palm Sunday leads us to John 3:16.  For God so loved the world that He gave us Jesus.

I gave my heart to Jesus 46 years ago and I'm still OVERWHELMED by the Love of God!

It is such a JOY to go and share the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS!!

May you be blessed on this Palm Sunday.  Remember what our Lord Jesus did for you and me.

THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

TRUE CONFESSIONS OF A "NEWS JUNKIE"

I first went on the "Air" in 1973 on WLUX in Baton Rouge, LA.  It was there that I became "hooked" on radio and the "News".

WLUX was a Christian Radio Station and I had the opportunity, as a young Disc Jockey, to put together several short Interview News Segments.

Then, hearing the call to Missions, I went to Haiti.  Soon, I was on the "Air" again with Radio Lumiere, Stereo 92.  Again, I did the "News".

In Haiti, in order to put a "News Cast" together with the latest "news" I had to monitor news casts from all over the world via Short Wave Radio.  It was fascinating to "gather" the news and put together my own "News Cast".  I was "hooked".

As you, who follow this "rambling blog" know, I write a short blog every single day and have not missed a day in over 8 years.  I'm kind of "Hooked" on the blog....one might say.

Now, add into all of this the Second Coming of Jesus and world events and Bible Prophesy unfolding right before our eyes.

One must sort through the news to try to determine what is real.  There is so much propaganda and just plain "Fake" news coming at us from every direction.

In addition to all that, Air Mobile goes all over the world bringing CLEAN WATER & the LOVE OF JESUS following disasters.  Another reason to keep a close eye on the News.

Herein lies my problem: When I listen to TOO MUCH NEWS & NOT ENOUGH WORD OF GOD, my faith falls off and discouragement and anger creep in.  That's when I need to say ENOUGH and back off the news and spend more time in the Word of God!

There, I had to get that off of my mind this morning.  If you find yourself becoming discouraged and just down from all the "Negative" news, join me in backing off of the news and spending more time in God's Word, the true GOOD NEWS!!!!

Today, Cindy and I will be re-packing the 500 Hygiene Kits and other goodies for India and putting them into suitcases that are not oversize.  Found out yesterday that it could cost a small fortune if the Airline Station Manager does not approve a waiver for the oversize.  We don't want to take that chance.

We'll be heading to India next Friday and we're very excited about this mission trip.  We'll be checking on the feeding program that we established along with Deliver the Difference several years ago.  We'll also be able to check on the 3 Air Mobile Rescuers that we placed there.

Cindy and I are very glad that Ariana will be with us.  She has a true heart for missions.

THANK YOU for your meandering down this rambling blog with me.  We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!!

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK LIGHTER!

Packing 500 of anything can be an arduous task.  However, "Many Hands Make Light Work Lighter" certainly holds true!

Before beginning the "Big Pack", my Cindy shared her testimony and her sweet heart to help the "Least Of These".

She organized an amazing event that culminated last night at Redeemer Church here in Titusville.

My Cindy, over the last month, has been collecting all of the "ingredients" to make wonderful hygiene kits that will be a GREAT blessing to (some) of the "Untouchables"* in India.

* To learn more of who the "Untouchables" are, scroll down to the 3-19-18 Post.

Gifts poured in from all over the U.S. from beautiful hand-made dolls (that radiate love and joy) to soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, and so much more.

There was also a "steady stream" of neighbors in our Community who just showed on our doorstep with gifts in-hand.  Literally hundreds participated in this outreach of love to the "LEAST OF THESE"!

It was amazing to see all of these diligent hands packing all of that cool stuff into zip lock bags.

In just under 2 hours....it was done!  Congratulations to all who came and were part of this wonderful evening!!  What an outpouring of LOVE & SWEET FELLOWSHIP!

Now, we need to PRAY FOR FAVOR from the airline that will carry us to India to allow all of this excess baggage on-board.

I'll be reaching out to them today to seek permission to carry all of this at NO EXTRA CHARGE!  Please join us in prayer!!

THANK YOU, as I say with all of my heart for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

PACK EM UP!

This evening, we'll be joined by a number of willing hands to help us put 500 hygiene kits together for (some) of the "Untouchables" in India.

We're also bringing in food and more clean water...and above all, sharing the Love of Jesus!!

To find out more about who the "Untouchables" are, just scroll down to 3-19-18.

There are times when the task is overwhelming...and we just do, what we can do.  Above all, we're THANKFUL that we can do something to help those in such desperate need.

If you're in the Central Florida area and would like to help, come on over!

We'll be at our church, Redeemer located at:
3580 S. Park Ave.
Titusville, FL   32780

The event begins at 6:30PM.

We can use as many willing hands as we can get!  And...you'll be part of an amazing process of helping the "Least of these"!

If you can come, it'd be GREAT to see you.  If you'd like more information about our "Packing Event" tonight, feel free to give me a call at:  321-544-7757.  We hope to see you!!

Cindy and I are especially thankful to be able to bring our Ariana with us!

She recently received her U.S. Passport and is free to travel the world for our Lord Jesus.  Ari is an amazing young lady with a heart of gold!

Now, I know that I say this every single day, but I want you to know just how much we appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!!!

DODGING BULLETS (STORMS) & A "STEALTHY" GATOR & JOIN CINDY & ME TOMORROW NIGHT

Yesterday, a cluster of thunderstorms raced through Central Florida.  Cindy and I decided to have dinner a bit further "South".

Notice that I used "ForeFlight", an aviation App, to track those storms.

Just as the storm approached we hopped in our Ford Escape (represented by the little blue airplane) and drove south....AWAY FROM THE STORMS!

So, instead of sitting in our little home, anxiously monitoring the WX Radio and hoping that a tornado does not touch down near us or on us....we enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner at the Patio Grill in Vero Beach.

After the storms dissipated, we drove home.  There, some "battles", we just don't have to fight.

Fortunately, there was no serious damage or injuries from those wicked storms.  Thank God!

This morning, while sipping coffee, we saw this 10 footer patrolling our area.

I think he (the gator) picked me up on his radar and quietly and stealthily disappeared before our eyes.

THAT'S WHY WE DON'T SWIM IN THE PONDS HERE IN FLORIDA!!

Tomorrow night, Cindy and I will be at Redeemer Presbyterian packing up for India.  Want to come & help?

Cindy Hurston will share how she was called to missions and tell about the situation in Ongole, India. Then all of us will work together to fill 500 hygiene kits to take to India on March 30th. Refreshments will be served.

Here's more on this event - BE HIS HANDS WITH CINDY HURSTON

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

IN THE "BULLS EYE"

I'm THANKFUL for weather warnings.  Gives the opportunity to "Batten down the hatches" and or simply "Get out of the way".

There is a wicked line of violent thunderstorms coming our way, here in Florida.

BTW, those storms have already left a lot of destruction and injuries in their path.

I've been doing "Relief Work" since 1969.  Have seen a lot of death and destruction over the years.  IF I have the opportunity to simply get out of the way of a bad line of storms, I do!

Have seen a lot of folks who choose to "Just ride it out" over the years.  The problem with that, is that weather can be extremely violent and even fatal and very UNPREDICTABLE.  Many times, it's not worth it to take the chance.  If you can get out of the way, DO!

So....according to our local forecast, the line of violent storms is projected to hit our area later this afternoon.  We'll pick up Ariana from school in the early afternoon and just take a little ride down south for a nice seafood dinner..."Out of the line of fire."

Now Folks, that's not being "chicken" it's just picking and choosing our battles.  Some battles (i.e. violent weather), we just don't have to crawl into the ring and fight.  Simply walk away (out of the way).

I must also say, there's a time to run straight to the storm... AFTER it hits, and go and rescue folks and bring much needed help, like food and clean water.

As a matter of fact, I've written a book titled "Run to the Roar".

What I'm trying to say is....in the future, IF you're in a debate as to whether or not to EVACUATE or NOT EVACUATE....if you ERR on any side may it be on the EVACUATE SIDE!

Above all PRAY for Lord our to guide you and lead you in ALL situations!

THANK YOU for meandering on down this road of life with me.  Just felt like I needed to share this simple message with you today.

God bless and THANK YOU again for your precious prayer, love and support!!

11 DAYS UNTIL INDIA...WHO ARE THE "UNTOUCHABLES"??

We've been gathering supplies and gifts for the Untouchables in India.  We have our Visas in-hand and will begin packing this week.

Who are the "UNTOUCHABLES"????

Remember the Words of our Lord Jesus when He said.... When you've done it unto 'the least of these' of these, you've done it unto Me..."

Here's a good description of just who the "Untouchables" are or as our Lord Jesus says..."The Least of These":

In Ongole India, hunger is a daily reality for the children of the Untouchables Caste.

More than 240 million people in India are called “Untouchables.” Also known as “non- humans”, these people are believed to be unclean by birth.

We traveled to India to investigate.

Since then, we've had the wonderful privilege to provide clean water and hot, nourishing food to a small group.  Our Lord has blessed our efforts and we are looking to expand our outreach there.

This upcoming "Mission" will be our 4th trip to India. We're very excited about going and will be sending daily reports via this blog.

BTW, this will be Ariana's first International Mission Trip since receiving her passport.  We're so glad that she will be with us!!!

Again, we can't THANK YOU enough for your incredible and truly appreciated love, prayer and support!!!

A LITTLE PAINT...A LITTLE LOVE & A "FLYING STORY"

Yesterday, the members of Redeemer Church in Titusville, FL met and broke out the paint.  What a day and what a transformation of our church.

Some say it looks like a piece of cheese cake, others say it looks like the bow of a ship.  They're both right.

Getting to the tip of the bow would be a little tricky, so some good old scaffolding was utilized (I'm not afraid of heights).

Many hands came together on this wonderful project.  Folks came and went throughout the day.

At the end of the day, significant progress had been made and the "bulk" of the job was done.

BRAVO REDEEMER "FAMILY"!!

Today, we'll be sharing with the Church our plans for India.  We're very excited about this upcoming "Mission".

As you may know, I've been sharing with you about my quest to obtain the Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Rating.  This is something that I believe that our Lord has put into my heart to do.

As a pilot, I currently hold the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating and have logged over 8,500+ flight hours all over the world.

During my flying career, as a Missionary Pilot, I never had a desire to be a Flight Instructor.  But....our Lord has been putting it into my heart to help train young (and older) men and women who want to be Missionary Pilots or just fly for the love of it.

Our Lord has been so good to me to allow me the PRIVILEGE to fly for HIM!  Can't even begin to tell you how blessed I am to be able to do this.  I LOVE FLYING!

I distinctly remember the day when I was not quite 4 years old, when I heard and then saw my first airplane.

It was a Yellow Piper Cub.  My life changed right then and there and I believe that it was the Lord that put the desire  to"FLY" into my heart.

At that tender age of 4, I began going to the Baton Rouge Downtown Airport every chance I got to find out more.

You, who wander down this Blog with me also know that I ask....."Who said you can't have your cake and eat it too"??

The Lord is SO GOOD!  He puts desires in our hearts and let's us FULFILL those desires.

Oh well, there I've gone preaching again.  Sometimes, I just can't help myself.

Truly, GOD IS GOOD...ALL THE TIME!

May you blessed this day and as I say every single day, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

I PASSED....THE FAA EXAM....WHEW!!

After weeks of intense study, I didn't "Chicken Out" and went and took the FAA CFI-I written exam.  And....I PASSED!

Now, the study continues for the next Exam in this Journey toward becoming a Certified Flight Instructor Instruments.  It is the "Fundamental of Instruction" (FOI).

I'll begin my study for that exam early next week.  Will also begin the actual "flight training".  All I can say is that I'm relieved to have passed this first hurtle.

Just before taking the exam, Cindy and I met Bob Bostic of "Deliver the Difference".

Bob is a great friend!  He and his wife Mari have a heart to feed the hungry.  We've traveled all over the world together bringing CLEAN WATER & FOOD to the thirsty and hungry.

Bob had some critical ingredients for us to bring to India.  I love his newly "wrapped" Deliver the Difference trailer.

Along with the special ingredients for India, he replenished our Emergency Stock of food with 2000+ meals.  In that way, when the next disaster hits, we'll have food "ready to go"!  THANK YOU, BOB!

This morning, Cindy, Ari and I will be joining other members and we'll be painting our church.  We love our Church!  Gary Ginn is a great pastor and friend.

IT'S EVEN COLD IN FLORIDA....BRRRR!

We awoke to 37 degrees here in "Sunny" Florida. Cindy and Andy braved the cold for a brisk walk this morning.

Looks like another "Nor-Easter" or two is heading across the U.S. to the East Coast.

Later today, the temp will reach a nice 75 degrees here in Florida, but it's sure CHILLY this morning.

Later this morning, Cindy and I will be meeting with our dear friend, Bob Bostic of "Deliver the Difference".

He'll be bringing us special ingredients to make thousands of highly nutritious meals for our upcoming trip to India.  We love you, Bob!!

We've worked with Bob all over the world.  "Deliver the Difference" gets the FOOD & Air Mobile brings in the CLEAN WATER.  What a team!!

After Cindy and I meet with Bob, I "may"(if I don't chicken out).... take the FAA CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instruments) written exam.  I think I'm ready.  Please pray that I do well.

These last few weeks of study have been wonderful.  Flying is complicated business and is ever changing with new Regulations and Technology.  I'm THANKFUL for this time to study.

Time to head out into this brisk, beautiful day in Florida.  THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

MEETING AN OLD FRIEND / CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH BIG BIRD & STUDY, STUDY, STUDY

At the end of the day of deep study, I needed a break.  Called my friend, Joe, whom I met in the 10th Grade Geometry Class at Baton Rouge High.....52 years ago!

We meet regularly at a little Italian Restaurant in Longwood, FL. Our friendship has endured the test of time.

Joe introduced me to Jesus 47 years ago.  For that, I'm eternally grateful!  THANK GOD for GOOD FRIENDS!!!

The Little Italian place has a greeting party.  These guys hang out in front welcoming the patrons.   They've been here for years.

Today, it'll be back to study and prepping for the CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instruments) Written Exam.

I'm thankful for this time of peace and quiet.  Nice to have the batteries "recharging" for the next mission.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

ANOTHER QUIET DAY OF STUDY....AHHHH

Spent the day studying and taking prep exams for my CFII Written Exam.  It's just good to be home in peace and quiet and..... warmth of Florida.

Sorry for those up north who are dealing with blizzards, power outages and just dreadful winter conditions thanks to Winter Storm Skylar.

Here's more on Skylar....WHEN WILL WINTER END???? BRRRRRR!

Have checked on the Haitian crew that was in the terrible "Ambush" in Haiti (that occurred last week).

They are slowly recovering from their wounds and bruises.  Likewise, Annie and Hannah are well on the road to recovery.  However, the emotional trauma that they all experienced will take a while.  Please remember them in your prayers.

BTW, if you're new to this rambling blog and want to know what I'm talking about, just scroll on down a few days and you'll see how the "Ambush & Rescue" came about.

All throughout the day, folks keep bringing supplies for our Mission to India.  We're going to bring a good load of food, hygiene, toys, and parts for the water purifiers that we have in place there.  We're very excited about this upcoming mission.

So today, more study and prep for the big test.  Getting close to feeling like I can pass it.

May the quiet, peaceful days continue.....THANKS again for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A QUIET DAY IN FLORIDA...

I'm THANKFUL for a peaceful, warm day here in Florida.

I see that the Northeast is the midst of a blizzard and will have a few more days of intense snow thanks to Winter Storm Skylar.  Glad I'm in Florida.

Yesterday was a wonderful day of study and sample FAA tests for the upcoming CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instruments) written exam.

Every time the phone rings, I'm "hoping" it's not a disaster or a need for an emergency flight etc., etc.  Am really enjoying the peace and quiet for the moment.

BTW, I spoke with Davis yesterday and he and his wife, Annie, flew out of Orlando back to their home in Nevada yesterday evening.  PRAISE GOD for healing and recovery!!

Today, I'll be taking more sample FAA tests and as I said before, am really enjoying the study.  It's good for pilots to receive "sharpening" training.

Now, I know I write a "Rambling Blog" every single day (have for 8 years and 3 months). Sometimes it's rather "exciting" and sometimes it's downright "boring".

I like the boring days almost as much as the exciting days.  The boring days bring healing and strength.

But....it should be noted...."the day ain't over yet".  I know WHO holds the future and I'm holding tightly to HIS Hand!!

I'm particularly THANKFUL for you, who wander down this path of life with me.  Your faithful prayers are so APPRECIATED!!

THANK YOU, as I say every single day for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

STUDY...STUDY....STUDY

Settling back into "Study Mode" for the upcoming CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instruments) written exam.

I really am enjoying the study, as it's helping to hone my flying skills.

We pilots need regular training...just to keep up with the latest FAA regulations.

Likewise, the technology in the cockpit is just awesome, but one must constantly study and train to stay on top of the ever changing technology.

STUDY...STUDY....STUDY!

At the same time, we're getting ready for our upcoming Mission to India.

Cindy has been doing an amazing job of gathering critical supplies, including 500 hygiene kits and dolls and so much more.

Cindy is recruiting local ladies to join in the sorting and packing for the mission to India.

Ladies, if you live in the area and would like to join Cindy on this special evening (March 22nd) please come.  You're more than welcome.

We will be going to an area of Southern India that has EXTREME poverty and the needs are staggering!

We've already placed water purifiers there and have a small feeding program.  It will be so good to check up on the program and see how we can improve it and even expand it.

Today, I'll be locked away studying and preparing for the CFII Written Exam.

Oh yes, I spent several hours with Davis and Annie yesterday in Orlando.  I'm very pleased to tell you that Annie is recovering beautifully!

Please remember the team (Annie, Hannah, Getro and Blada) that was brutally ambushed in Haiti as our Lord brings physical and emotional healing to them.

THANK YOU, as always, for our invaluable prayer, love and support!!

SPRING FORWARD....NO PROBLEM

I'm sure you know by now, we lost an hour overnight.  It's nothing a little coffee can't help.

Settling back into my Flight Training routine.  Met with Glen Gray, my Instructor.

BTW, Glen is Yahn's (Premier Water Mule) Dad.  Glen is a Captain for Silver Wings Airline and has a rich aviation history.

Several years ago, we got VERY close to my final Check Ride, but....I postponed the training due to a major "up-tick" in relief work.

It's time to complete the training for the CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instrument).  It will be good to help train new pilots and especially those who desire to do MISSION AVIATION!

We're laying out our game plan (Syllabus) to reach the goal.  My next step is to take the CFII Written Exam and then the Fundamentals of Instruction Exam.

Then, we'll begin doing the air-work to get me ready for the Check Ride.  I'm really enjoying the study.  It's helping me to be become a better pilot.

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning, here in Florida where the temp is 65 degrees, we're getting ready for church and then will be on to the Hospital in Orlando where we're Chaplains.

We're THANKFUL for this peaceful morning...even though we lost an hour somewhere in the night.  Coffee works.

And THANK YOU, as I say every single morning, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!

SEE YA LATER MR. GATOR!

The general rule here in Florida is...."if there's a body of water, there's likely a gator in it ...or nearby".

I've found that to be mostly the case.  Another good rule is...."don't jump in the lake for a swim, as you, most likely, will not be alone."

While driving to the airport to meet Davis (his wife was severely injured in Haiti and is now recovering), I came across this big fellow.  NOTE:  I did not turn my back on him (or her) for very long!

It was a joy to see Davis again.  He informed me that his wife, Annie, is recovering from her surgery well.  He's very grateful for all of our prayers!

When we met yesterday, he was joined by his sister, Diane and her husband Tony.  They live close by and will be with them during this recovery time.

I enjoyed showing them the Air Mobile Rescuer and explained how it is saving lives all around the world.

BTW, Hannah who was also in vehicle in Haiti during the Ambush is recovering well.  Praise God!

After that wonderful meeting and good report from Davis, I returned to the "Books" on the Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) rating.

Today, I'll be meeting with my Flight Instructor, Glen Gray.  Glen and I began this pursuit of the CFII several years ago and I had to put it on the "shelf" for a while.  Got REAL busy with relief and just had to postpone it.

So, on this chilly morning in Flordia (39 degrees), we'll be careful not to have any close encounters with the local gators and I'll go do some Flight Training.  THANK YOU, as always for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

A "GOOD REPORT" - SO MANY ANSWERS TO PRAYER!!

I am pleased to say that Annie underwent surgery and it was quite successful.

She and her husband, Davis are at a wonderful hospital in Orlando.

Annie will have a long road of recovery ahead of her, but she is so THANKFUL to be alive.

Folks, there are so many "Miracles" that have taken place....and they still are occurring, in this amazing rescue.

We're all just standing in awe at how the Hand of God intervened in multiple areas.  GOD IS GOOD....ALL THE TIME!!

This team of volunteers, who were going to Haiti to bring relief and hope, were met with a brutal, deadly ambush.

Yet, we all know that we know that our Lord was there and is and will continue to bring so much good out of this!!

As we visited at the hospital yesterday, and continued to put the "pieces" together of just what happened, we realized just how much our Lord was there and how so many miracles happened to bring us to this point.

Well, I'm settling back down to continue to study for my upcoming Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) written exam.

Cindy and I are also in the process of preparing for our upcoming trip to India!  We'll be traveling there on March 30th.   We'll be bringing in vital supplies and checking on the Feeding & Clean Water Program.

We're also very glad that Ariana will be with us.  It's her first Mission Trip to India.  Ari loves the Lord and loves serving others!

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!

NOW....WHERE WAS I?? & A "CLOSE ENCOUNTER"...OF THE GATOR KIND

Oh yes, studying for the Certified Flight Instructors Instrument (CFII) written exam.  Back to the "Books"!

It's amazing how quickly things can change with a simple phone call.

As you who "ramble" down this "Blogger Road" with me know, at 1:30AM on Monday I received a phone call concerning a "Deadly Ambush" and critical injuries in Haiti.

I'll not go into the story here. Simply read on down the last few days and you'll see where we've been and how this MIRACULOUS story unfolded.

All I can say is...."TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!"

Annie underwent surgery last night and it was successful! She is resting comfortably in an Orlando Hospital.  Hannah made it home safely and is with her family.

The other 2 Haitian assistants who were in the vehicle are recovering from scrapes and bruises.  We are setting up a fund for the family of the Haitian Driver who was murdered in the Ambush.

After flying 11 hours on Tuesday and ending a very long day, Cindy made me stay home and rest  yesterday.  She not only loves me, but she's a wonderful nurse.  I PRAISE GOD for my Cindy.

I did wander out into our community and had a "Close Encounter" with an 8 foot gator.  Oh, he was just sunning himself and I didn't get too close to him...or her.

It's time for me to get back to studying for that CFII Exam.  I do, kind of hope, the phone doesn't ring for a little while.

So, as I say every single day, and mean with ALL of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....THANK GOD!!

It all began with that 1:30 call on Monday morning from Dave Walen.  Missionaries in Haiti "ambushed", driver shot & killed, serious injuries and the need for an immediate rescue.

From that early morning phone call, ACTION began.  The husband of one of the seriously injured, Davis, boarded a flight from Reno, NV to Orlando.

He and I would fly into Haiti early Tuesday morning to bring his wife, Annie and Hannah, the undergrad who was with Annie in the terrible ambush.

Our flight was smooth and quick.  Had a 20+ knot tailwind.

We were blessed with another spectacular Caribbean Sunrise while flying over Nassau.

Upon arriving in Port-au-Prince, we headed straight to the Hospital and consulted with the Doctor who was caring for Annie.

Annie desperately needed surgery for multiple injuries.  Annie was transported to the airport by ambulance.

BTW, the Ambulance service, H.E.R.O. was SPECTACULAR!

We carefully put Annie into the Little Donkey and she fit perfectly!

The flight was smooth but quite long as we had to fight very strong headwinds.

But the main thing is that Annie was comfortable and we were headed to the U.S.!!!

Now, Hannah sustained a number of injuries, and fortunately, none of them serious.

This young lady was extremely brave and was a tremendous help in taking care of Annie until help could arrive.

When I said earlier that Annie fit into the Little Donkey, here is her right foot between Hannah and I.

Upon landing on U.S. soil at Fort Pierce, we all breathed a sigh of relief.  U.S. Customs cleared us quickly and we made the final leg of this epic journey to our home base in Titusville.

There, my Cindy had arranged for an Ambulance to be there to meet us.

Annie gave me a hug as she was carefully taken out of the Little Donkey.

It was with unbelievable joy and THANKS to our Lord for bringing us safe thus far.  Annie and Davis headed to the Hospital in Orlando.

THANK YOU ALL for your precious and invaluable PRAYERS!

Annie's injuries are serious and she will likely need multiple surgeries.  Hannah is recovering but has sustained not only physical injuries, but she and Annie have had terrible emotional trauma.  PLEASE remember them in your prayers.

And...PLEASE remember the family of the driver that tried desperately get away from the attackers and lost his life.

Folks, this is tragic story, and yet we are THANKFUL to our Lord for being with us and helping us to assist those who needed immediate help.

As always, I'm especially THANKFUL for you who stand so faithfully with us with your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

INJURED MISSIONARIES SAFE / RECOVERING...BUT STILL "NOT OUT OF THE WOODS".... THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!

Due to the on going danger of the situation with the missionaries that were ambushed in Haiti, I can give only limited details, as the rescue is still in progress.

4 Missionaries were enroute to a town in the Central Plateau of Haiti.  They were ambushed on the road and the driver attempted to escape the trap.  He was shot and killed as the vehicle was still in motion.

The vehicle careened off the road and went down an embankment rolling over several times.

The attackers quickly stole all of value leaving the injured missionaries and the dead driver.  Local Haitians helped the victims get to a local hospital. They are being treated and one of the victims will require surgery.

I can give no more details.  The attackers are still on the run.  PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for these brave souls who are suffering and still in danger.

I will give more details as I can.  THANK YOU for standing with us with your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

AN EMERGENCY CALL IN THE NIGHT....URGENT PRAYER REQUESTED!!!!

The phone rang at 1:30 this morning.  It was Dave Walen, a long time, faithful "Water Mule".  He went on to tell me of an unfolding tragedy in Haiti

Yesterday evening, a mission team in Haiti was "ambushed" and the driver was shot & killed while the vehicle was still moving. The vehicle crashed and rolled.  In addition to the fatality, there are injuries.

I share this tragic story with you to ask for your PRAYERS for these brave missionaries who were going to bring help and care and love to Haiti and were brutally attacked.

I cannot give any more details on this tragic attack at this time.  We are doing all that we can to bring help to them.

THANK YOU for being with us with your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

BACK TO "CLASS"

As I've been sharing with you, been deeply immersed in classroom flight training.

It's been GOOD....but intense.  My brain hurts, but today is the final day.  Sometime next week, I'll actually take the CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instrument) written exam.

After passing the test (hopefully), the studies will continue with a few more tests, both written and an airborne Check Ride.

Can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate this training.  We fly the Little Donkey into some very distant and hard to reach areas.  Often our flights are quite complicated and require a lot of skill.

This flight training will help us to accomplish our missions around the world with greater safety and effectiveness.

I also hope to "give back" by sharing some of the many things I've learned over the years of flying, with my students.

Well, it's time for me to hit the road for Orlando for 8 more hours of training today.  THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

600 QUESTIONS....

For the last few days, I've "Immersed" myself in study for the upcoming "Certified Flight Instructor Instrument" Test (CFII).

The study guide contains 600 test questions and the test will be comprised of 60.

Doing this study has shown me that...yes, I'm a bit "rusty" on several subjects.

That's why it's good to take these kind of test from time to time.

Today and tomorrow, I'll be in Orlando in a classroom with "Aviation Seminars" for 16 hours preparing for the test.

I'm recalling the first time I did this with Aviation Seminars.  It was in 1978 for my Private Written Exam.  My-my, how time flies that was 40 years ago!!

At some point yesterday, my eyes were bleary and just needed a break from "Holds & Departure Procedures & Instrument Approaches".

So...Ari and I took a ride on the little yellow scooter that I recently found at the airport (and bought for a song).

It was good to clear my brain out and enjoy a pleasant ride down a nature trail.

While I was studying my Cindy was making pastries to sell at a fund raiser for our upcoming Mission to India.

Wow, how my Cindy can bake.  She has an awesome gift!!!  Go Cindy!!

Up early this morning getting ready to head to Orlando to resume my studies for the CFII Written exam.

THANK YOU, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart.  We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!!

REPORT & STUDY

Cindy and I had the grand privilege to share a Good Report with the Prayer Saints of First Baptist Merritt Island, FL.

It's always a JOY to share what we are doing and where Air Mobile is going.

These Saints know how to PRAY AND INTERCEDE and that is the greatest thing that we need as we go forth and bring the GOOD NEWS of JESUS & CLEAN WATER to thirsty souls!!

After our report, we headed home and I "hit the books" for my upcoming Written Test for Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Rating (CFII).

This weekend, I'll be immersed in a 16 hour Prep for the  Test hosted by Aviation Seminars.  I've studied with these folks since 1978 when I took my Private Pilot Written Exam.

Today I'll be locked away in deep study getting ready for the "Weekend Wonder Course".  The truth is...I'm really enjoying this study because it's helping me to become a better pilot.

Air Mobile, as you know, flies into some very distant and hard to reach areas around the world and....the more training the better.

God is so good to allow me to do this!  THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

TWEAKING THE RESCUER & SPEAKING AT FIRST BAPTIST MERRITT ISLAND

Yesterday I had breakfast with my son Christian and a dear friend, Aaron. Aaron is a gifted Inventor!

I've known Aaron since he was a young teenager.  I love seeing young men serve the Lord.  Such is the case with Christian and Aaron!

We discussed some VERY creative ways to make the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier MORE effective!

The discussion of DIRTY WATER is a huge subject and finding ways to make it CLEAN is an ongoing project.  I love it when our Lord sends HIS TROOPS into the battle!

This morning Cindy and I will be speaking at First Baptist Merritt Island to their Missions Group.

We love this Church and always count it a privilege to share with these precious Saints what Air Mobile is doing.

At the end of March, Cindy, Ari and I will return to India bringing food and clean water and hygiene supplies and the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS.

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!
