I can't begin to tell you the joy I experience when I'm able to bring CLEAN WATER to the thirsty!
Verse 12 says..."I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions".
We have a machine, the Air Mobile Rescuer, that can provide CLEAN DRINKING WATER instantly and with extraordinary efficiency.
Our prayer today is that the Lord will direct us as to how to place these wonderful machines where needed.
To date, by God's Amazing Grace and your prayers and generosity, we have been able to place Air Mobile Rescuers in some of the most devastating disasters in modern history.
Yesterday, we finally planted a couple of apple trees.
BTW, we'll also be planting peach and plum trees. So glad we're finally getting..... "ROUND TUIT".

AIR MOBILE RESCUERS ARRIVE VIA THE LOUISIANA CAJUN NAVY!!
The Louisiana Cajun Navy, headed up by Clyde Cain arrived on the Texas / Oklahoma border and went to work bringing CLEAN WATER to folks "on the edge".
KTEN TV showed up and captured the CLEAN WATER DEPLOYMENT. PRAISE GOD! Good job Clyde!!
I'm reminded of what my dear Pastor, Roy Stockstill, told me many years ago....
"Son, don't forget, God knows how to deploy His troops!"
Today, Clyde & Company will be heading into other "passed over" places, SCOUTING out the needs and bringing CLEAN WATER.
We were glad to see the Air Mobile Rescuer "made the news" again on KTEN TV - Here's the link - THE LOUISIANA CAJUN NAVY & AIR MOBILE BRING CLEAN WATER
In the meantime, we're working hard to get the funding to donate these units and leave them in place for not only this disaster, but for what may be coming.

It is the small outlying communities and apartment complexes that are suffering. These are the areas that we're targeting to help.

He drove into the late evening and will be bringing CLEAN WATER into an isolated community today. We're awaiting a status report.
BTW, glad to be working with Clyde. The Louisiana Cajun Navy knows how to get in and get the job done!
Meanwhile, we realize the extreme importance of being PREPARED and we look to place Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers in strategic locations PRO-ACTIVELY!
We know that HURRICANE SEASON is right around the corner and by identifying the vulnerable areas, we hope to be able to provide CLEAN WATER NOW & be READY for the next disaster.

READY....
Being "Ready" to GO is a good position to be in. As we see Texas struggle to return to normal, there are still isolated pockets of folks who need CLEAN WATER.
Our good friend, Clyde of The Louisiana Cajun Navy is exploring those areas.
He'll be bringing that unit with him on his exploration missions.
If he uncovers areas that have immediate needs, we'll help as we're able.
That is the reason that Air Mobile is raising the funds for 10 units.

We've worked closely with Clyde & Company following the devastating Hurricanes that struck Lake Charles, LA.
We're looking into several "hot spots" where clean water is difficult to find and the needs are great in Texas.
We may heading that way.....sooner than later.

As Texas works through it's critical water crisis, the conclusion we've come to is... STAND BY. If needed, we will GO!
One by one, boil water alerts are coming down, PRAISE GOD! There are plenty of "hot spots", and relief teams are filling those needs.
So, it's back to chores and taking care of the critters here at the Retreat Cabin.
Cindy is on the road from Florida today, heading back up here to Tennessee. She had a wonderful time with family and visiting our Florida home church. Please PRAY for her to have a safe & uneventful journey home.

DRILLING DEEP.....
Have been doing a lot of research (drilling deep) into just what is going on in Texas due to the recent terrible winter storms.
The LACK OF CLEAN WATER is a MAJOR PROBLEM for MILLIONS IN TEXAS!
With so many broken pipes, the challenge of getting clean water flowing again is immense.
Texans are a "tough bunch of folks". They're working hard to get this thing back on track. We join them in prayer.
Here's more - MILLIONS OF TEXANS ARE ASKED TO BOIL WATER
In addition to prayer, Air Mobile is willing to GO and place our water purifiers where most needed.
A critical element in our going is getting units funded. We'd like to bring in at least 10 units at $3,000 each.
However, if our units are not needed, or we can't raise the funds, then we will continue to be on STAND-BY & ready to go as our Lord leads.
PLEASE PRAY for us to be guided by our Lord Jesus!!
Again, as I type this blog, we're gaining a lot of critical information. We may be deploying sooner than later. This is "moving target" and we only want to GO if we can be of assistance.

Today, my Cindy celebrates her birthday. She made a trip to Florida to spend some sweet time with our son, Peter and with her Dad.

Meanwhile, Ari and I are "holding down the fort" and taking care of our critters.
It's still quite cold up here, but hopefully will be warming up this weekend.

Winter Storm, after Winter Storm has gripped our nation and here at the Retreat Cabin and we must "layer up" and take care of our chores and our critters (horses, donkeys & ducks).
In some areas, including the south, MILLIONS are without electricity.
Of course, when power goes out, water treatment plants often fail and water becomes contaminated with bacteria.
Without electricity, it becomes difficult and challenging to BOIL WATER. Just be aware of the DANGER.
This is another good reason to have extra drinking water on hand during winter storms.
And remember, a single Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier will provide CLEAN drinking water to hundreds in such emergencies.

A LONG & SAD NIGHT
We did all we could to save this sweet & brave "rescue" horse, but to no avail.
Our vet, Dr. Mason came immediately and determined that Stryker had deep intestinal complications and was in great pain. We had to put him down.
He was brave until the very end and died peacefully.
Stryker is no longer in pain. A mercy.
Now, burying a horse is a big deal. We did not want to leave his body unprotected where coyotes could desecrate him.
So, my good friend, Mark Scarbrough and I stood vigil all night to protect Stryker's body until we can dig a proper grave. Fortunately, no coyotes showed up.
We called our friend, Jason, who has a tractor and back hoe. We'll bury Stryker today. It was a sad day and a long and cold night.

A SWEET VALENTINE'S DAY....
What a wonderful day at the "Retreat Cabin" and barn. We had a glorious wedding for Mark's Sister, Joyce and her new husband Captain Ed Layman.
A lovely way to celebrate love on this Valentine's Day.
The barn setting was perfect with hay seats covered with horse blankets and a double propane heater to warm things up a bit.
Mark conducted the wedding ceremony, and again, Cindy and I are so blessed to be part of this wonderful union between Captain Ed and Joyce.
They both love the Lord and desire to serve Him with all of their hearts.
Our guests were seated and the Ceremony began in our little barn.
Now, they can do this together as husband and wife. PRAISE GOD!
After this sweet union, we made it up to the "Retreat Cabin" for cake and refreshments.
Cindy and Barbara West made the lovely and delicious cake. They also did a superb job of decorating for this wedding. What talented ladies of God!!

A WEDDING IN A BARN.....
When our good friend, Mark Scarborough, asked if his sister, Joyce, could have her wedding in our newly built Barn (Run-in-Shelter), our immediate answer was....YES!
So, on Valentines Day, tomorrow, the wedding will happen at our little farm and we're thrilled to be part of it.
Today, Cindy and Barbara West are baking the cake and decorating for our "First Barn Wedding".
Dennis West will be making a lovely Arbor out of huge grape vines.
Even though the weather is cold and rainy, we're expecting this to be a lovely and warm and memorable event. Sparrow is interested to know just what is going on.
Time to get to work transforming the little barn into a lovely wedding chapel. Going to be fun.

And then the PEACE OF GOD, which passes ALL understanding is keeping my heart & mind through Christ Jesus!
So, today, Cindy and I will be planting seeds in our pastures. We'll be slugging through the mud and REJOICING IN THE LORD!!

Woke up early this morning with I Thessalonians 5:16-18 on my heart. PRAISE GOD FOR THE GIFT OF JOY!
You know, there are times that "stuff happens" in this life that certainly works on stealing our joy.
I love the word....RE-JOICE! It means to have JOY AGAIN.
Often, all we have to do is ASK HIM FOR HIS JOY and OUR LORD gladly accommodates.
I'm reminded that the JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH!
Once JOY IS FLOWING, PRAYER FOLLOWS AND THEN WE GIVE THANKS!
Talk about an attitude adjustment!!
Not sure where you are today, but I encourage you to open your heart and ask HIM to fill it with HIS JOY! I assure you, your day will go better!
Today, Cindy and I are working on the pasture and planting hay seeds.
It's a muddy mess, but with the JOY OF THE LORD, it becomes a labor of love and actually....kind of fun. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

Well, our old 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 made it to and from Knoxville yesterday. So glad that we could help Dennis & Barbara to their medical appointment...on time.
Roads were a little slippery, but all went well. PRAISE GOD!!
According to the Old Farmers Almanac, today is a very good day to plant seeds for our pastures.
Must say, being a small farmer is challenging but quite rewarding.
Am THANKFUL for the "Retreat Cabin" that gives us wonderful base of operations as well a sweet place to live. GOD IS GOOD!!!
Time to get on with the chores and on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made!!

AN EARLY "MISSION"....
Our dear friends, Barbara & Dennis West have an early morning medical appointment in Knoxville.
I'll be giving them a ride, as I know the route and the roads are quite slick after the recent snow and the temp in the mid 20's.
Black Ice is a clear and present danger. We'll be leaving within the hour.
PLEASE PRAY for a safe journey there and back.
On another note, I love getting up early (really) and spending some quiet time with our Lord. Now, it helps when one goes to bed early.
I find that early morning prayer is a lovely time with Jesus.
As I ponder the recent election here in the U.S., I can't help but lean on Romans 8:28.
ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD, FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD....

SMOKEY MOUNTAIN SNOW....
We awoke to this lovely scene this morning. Such a beauty and wonder.
Yes, it's plumb chilly and the roads are slippery, but this Southern Boy from Louisiana gets extreme joy from the sight of it.
It does also help to have a great woodstove and plenty of firewood to make things toasty warm. Little Andy knows where the sweet spot is.
We'll be watching our Florida Pastor, Gary Ginn and then our Massachusetts Pastor, Eddy deliver the Word of God this morning.
I'll be braving the slippery road to go pick up our dear friends, Dennis and Barbara West in my old Dodge Ram (4 Wheel Drive!) and we'll watch "Church" together.
So, on this lovely morning, in the mountains of East Tennessee, we'll be worshiping our Lord and rejoicing in His beauty and goodness!!

Once Cindy and I finished installing our electric fence around our future Victory Garden, we connected to our Solar Power.
Now, the shock given when touched will certainly get ones attention (about 6000-8000 volts, but very little current). It won't hurt you, but will strongly discourage entry.
Hopefully, will keep those critters out!
& Critters....DON'T DO THIS!!
So, on this chilly morning, it's time to get to work preparing the soil.

Yesterday, Cindy and I laid out a new fence line around our upcoming spring "Victory Garden".
Now, is a good time to prepare the soil to receive the seeds. Looking forward to another FRUITFUL CROP!!
Our ducks have been giving us beautiful & delicious eggs. GO DUCKS!!
Today, we'll be completing the fence and electrolyzing it to keep critters out of our garden.

MAKING HAY.....WHILE THE SUN SHINES!
In order to make hay, you have to plant seeds. Before planting the seeds, it helps to prepare the soil.
Mmmmm, there has to be a lesson here.
Well, Cindy was on our trusty "Outfitter" yesterday and was "harrowing & raking" the soil & the horse manure in preparation to planting the hayfield.
Cindy is certainly a Proverbs 31 Woman of God. GO CINDY!!
And, some might ask...."Joe, why is that we only see Cindy working at the old "Retreat Cabin"?
Well, I do work with Cindy, but I'm usually the one with the I-phone ready to capture the moment.
But, Cindy is probably the hardest working person I know and I'm certainly BLESSED to have her as my wife.
Today, we'll be putting up some electric fencing to keep the horses & donkeys out of our planted pastures.
Time to bundle up with layers, it's 21 degrees here in the Mountains of East TN and get to work.

PLEASE PRAY for the residents of Tuluksak, Alaska as they struggle with the need to get clean water & BATTLING COVID-19.

BLOG will be a bit late today. Have to take a neighbor to the doctor...in our old Dodge Ram with 4 wheel drive.
Had a lot of snow and roads are icy. Will write more later.

Major Winter Storm, Orlena, is dragging through Tennessee and through the North East.
Roads are icy, snow is falling and Ariana's school has been cancelled today and possibly tomorrow
