14 FUEL TANKS...1 NOT PUMPING
When Dave and I flew up to Tennessee to pick up the 10 Air Mobile Rescuers, we realized that 1 of the 14 fuel tanks in the Little Donkey was not transferring fuel properly.
For the next phase of this Relief Mission, I would need every drop of fuel.
Paul, our great mechanic, met us at Space Coast Regional Airport and concluded the transfer pump had simply died.
We ordered 2 new pumps and they should be here soon.
While working through this situation, WVLT Channel 8 in Knoxville caught up with us for an update.
In the meantime, we're researching the Islands that most need CLEAN WATER.
SOME ISLANDS SEE NEAR TOTAL DESTRUCTION
I'm THANKFUL that the fuel transfer pump failed while we are still in the U.S. and can repair it easily...rather than being in the middle of the ocean needing every drop of fuel!
Our Lord is good!! Our PRAYER is that He guides us and leads us each step of the way!

10 AIR MOBILE RESCUERS "IN HAND"
We loaded them up in the "Little Donkey" and flew back to Titusville...dodging a few storms along the way.
Today, we're back in Titusville and are preparing to depart for our next "Mission". There is massive destruction in multiple Islands.
We're waiting for several weather systems to pass before launching on the "Back-Side" of Beryl.

Today, we celebrate the birth of America. Though far from perfect, still, in my humble opinion...the GREATEST NATION ON EARTH!
We were greeted there by Yahn Gray, who had 10 Air Mobile Rescuers Water Purifiers ready "To Go" to areas devastated by Hurricane Beryl.
There, we will be able to plan our next leg. Looks like our destination will be Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
From there, we'll be able to bring our CLEAN WATER machines where most needed.
Just before departing yesterday, WKMG Channel 6 sent James to interview me.

SUCCESSFUL TEST FLIGHTS...
After a few tweaks and adjustments, the Little Donkey was cleared to GO!

We hope to fly around the back-side of Beryl and go to where the CLEAN WATER is most needed.
Today, Dave and I will fly the Little Donkey up to Tennessee where Yahn will meet us with 10 Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers.
We will then fly back to Titusville, fuel up and wait for Beryl to pass and then...we will fly to where CLEAN WATER is desperately needed. WE PRAY FOR GOD'S DIRECTION!

As we look at the track & intensity of Beryl, now a CAT 4, it is good to re-position the Little Donkey.
Our strategy is to let the hurricane pass and come in on the back-side and bring relief as needed.
Again, this 2024 Hurricane Season has just started with a BANG!
We know that multiple islands will be devastated and will need a way to get CLEAN WATER.
So, it's time to hit the road for Knoxville. This "Mission" has begun.

HERE COMES BERYL....& MORE TO FOLLOW
As we expected, the Hurricane Season is living up to the Forecasts.
And you can see that there are multiple disturbances, any of which can grow into DEADLY HURRICANES!
Now, I'm not being a "Prophet of Doom", just a pilot that has thousands of flights in this region and worked scores of hurricanes.
Folks, it is a GOOD TIME to stock up with the essentials, food, water, medicine, batteries etc. etc. On Monday, I'll fly via Allegiant from Knoxville to Orlando (Sanford). Will meet with my mechanic, Paul.
We'll do a series of test flights following scheduled maintenance on the Little Donkey.
So, here we are, standing on the edge of multiple disasters. We are given the mandate by Jesus to bring CLEAN WATER to the THIRSTY.

Last night, we, like the rest of the world, watched Joe Biden show us just how unqualified he is to be President of the US.
It was painful to watch. It is good to shine the light on his actual condition.
Again, MAY GOD'S WILL BE DONE WITH AMERICA!
My CFI, Leo, did a very good job of setting up 3 approaches. It was good to knock some of the rust off (figuratively speaking).
We're also watching the Gulf of Mexico.

We're keeping a very close eye on both the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.
According to numerous meteorological forecasts, this 2024 Hurricane Season is going to be EXTREMELY ACTIVE!

ANOTHER "RESCUER" GOING TO THE PHILIPPINES
Yesterday, after Church, I trained our very own Pastor John Fultz (Pastor Little Mulberry Baptist Church) on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifier.
We continue to PRAY for Sam's Mom in India. She is awaiting a liver transplant.
PLEASE Continue to join us in PRAYER for this precious saint who is fighting for her life!
This coming Wednesday, I'll meet with Pastor Len Crow, Missionary to Cambodia, and train him on the Air Mobile Rescuer. We'll then present him with 3 Rescuers for Cambodia!

Just scanned our valley and realized again, the goodness of God! Here's a quick view of what I'm looking at.
Tropical Storm Alberto has slammed into Mexico & Southern Texas bringing heavy rains and major flooding.
The "Season" is upon us and there's more to come in these extremely warm waters.
Next Wednesday, we'll be meeting Missionary to Cambodia, Lynn Crow, who will be securing several "Rescuers" for his mission there.
We want that sweet little bird "ready for action".
BTW, yesterday I met with my Surgeon, Dr. Christopher for my 3 month-follow up since full knee-replacement surgery. Beautiful recovery and my next appointment is a year from now. PRAISE GOD & THANK YOU, DR. CHRISTOPHER!

AN ENCOURAGING NOTE FROM THE PAST...
Typhoon Haiyan was one of the most power storms in modern history. It struck the Philippines in early November 2013, and killed thousands of Filipinos.
Air Mobile "dashed" to the Philippines shortly thereafter and brought in 10 Air Mobile Rescuers. Among the grateful recipients was Pastor Ronald Gisma on Leyte island.
This morning, I received this note of gratitude for that mission all those many years ago.
It is so encouraging to note that 11 years later, the Air Mobile Rescuer is still providing CLEAN WATER in the Philippines.

A FLASHBACK TO HURRICANE HUGO & AN ANSWER TO PRAYER!
I so well remember when I PRAYED for our Lord to give me a way to bring CLEAN WATER to a THIRSTY WORLD.
We had just had Hurricane Hugo. He was a BAD BOY. He first hit Puerto Rico with 220 MPH winds (as recorded at Roosevelt Roads Naval Air Station).
I was the first private plane to land at Isla Grande Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico following Hugo.
I then made 46 flights in 10 Days, bringing in mainly, clean water. Water is heavy and bulky. I could not bring in very much in our little aircraft. There had to be a better way to do this.
I PRAYED and our Lord answered by sending Rolf Engelhard to me with an AMAZING INVENTION...what later became the Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifier. PRAISE GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYER!
Fast forward to today and we have now placed over 1500 "Rescuers" in 52 countries following some of the worst disasters in modern history.
Countless lives have been saved by getting CLEAN WATER where needed in the midst of terrible tragedy and destruction!
So today, 35 years later, we are looking at another Hurricane Season with forecasters calling for another EXTREMELY ACTIVE SEASON AHEAD!

COMPARING THE WORDS OF JESUS WITH THE NEWS...
Jesus answers His Disciples questions about "When" shall these things be regarding the destruction of the Temple and the End of the age.
Sitting here at our sweet Retreat Cabin, I monitor the NEWS and compare what I hear with what I read in Matthew 24.
I'm keeping a close eye on Russia. The threat of nuclear war is looming at our door as we see Russian warships steaming into Cuba.
Yes Folks, it appears that we are in the End Times. So, what shall we do?
The bottom line is...KEEP YOUR EYES FIXED ON JESUS & SEEK HIS DIRECTION TODAY & DAILY!

"AND THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY.."
Yesterday, we met Robert & Mary, long-time missionaries in Botswana, Africa.
We were able to train them on the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.

After the training, they decided to secure 2 "Rescuers" for their mission in Botswana. PRAISE GOD!
We laughed and cried as we shared story after story demonstrating our Lord's hand in our lives. There is, indeed, great power in sharing these stories with one another.

Our good friends, Dennis and Barbara West told Robert and his wife, Mary, Missionaries to Botswana, all about the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.
The lack of clean water is a major problem there...as it is around the world.
Today, they will be picking up 1 and possibly 2 Air Mobile Rescuers.
We're looking forward to meeting them and finding out all about their work in Botswana.

BACK TO KNOXVILLE...
Received an invitation to demonstrate the Air Mobile Rescuer to a group of Aviators who meet regularly at AVZ Aviation in Knoxville this evening. THANK YOU, Adrian!
I'm excited to share how our Lord can use even small aircraft to deliver huge amounts of clean water with the "Rescuer".
As we're already into the 2024 Hurricane Season, it's a good time to get ready for the storms that lie ahead. It is not a matter of IF, but WHEN!
Again, it's my privilege to share how our "Little Donkey" (our Turbo Cessna 337) has been used by our Lord to bring CLEAN WATER all over the Western Hemisphere.
Here are some quick numbers. The "Rescuer" weighs 29 pounds and can produce 500 gallons of clean water per day, every day for years. That means that 1 "Rescuer" can provide clean water to 1000 people per day!!
Note: The "Rescuer" weighs the same as 3.5 gallons of water and takes about the same amount of room. The 3.5 gallons of water is enough for 7 people for one day. Which one is better? Of course, the "Rescuer"!!
The Little Donkey can carry 20 "Rescuers" any where in this Western Hemisphere. That means that we can provide CLEAN WATER to 20,000 people per day!!
My hope and prayer is to recruit more Aviators, with and without their own aircraft, to join us in this noble battle. Looking forward to the meeting this evening.

REMEMBERING "D-DAY"....
80 Years ago today, we remember "D-DAY" , the largest military landing assault operation in history.
Operation Overlord began the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany.
As I watched the solemn ceremony, I quietly cried. My father, Master Sargent Roger M. Hurston was there. He served in General Patton's Third Army as a Combat Engineer.
He came home, but carried deep and painful scars. He did, in his later years accept our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

It appears to me that the "CONVICTION" of Donald Trump is not going as planned.

One thing that I can say here is....there is a lot of stuff going on "behind the scenes" and we may never know the truth.
But....we know WHO does, our LORD JESUS!
So, the best thing to do is to lean on JESUS and trust HIM to work it all out.

MEMORIAL DAY....REMEMBER & HONOR
Then, enjoy this day and this remarkable freedom that we have in America.
You know the older I get, the more emotional I get as I REMEMBER & HONOR those who GAVE IT ALL!
I find myself quietly crying as I remember. My Father, Roger Hurston served in Europe as a Combat Engineer in Patton's 3rd Army. He saw a lot of combat including D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
He came back, a broken man. He did, in his later years, surrender his life to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. For that, I am eternally grateful.
May you be BLESSED on this Memorial Day as you remember and honor those who gave it all.

Our hearts are broken for the young Missionaries, Davy & Natalie & Jude who were recently murdered in Haiti. We PRAY for the families and for the "Missions In Haiti".
Meanwhile, my recovery from knee surgery and cataract eye surgery is going well.

We awoke to the news of the Missionaries that were shot and killed in Bon Repos Haiti.
Our Mission (Ruuska Village) located in Bon Repos was very close to these terrible murders.
Our hearts go out to their parents and all who are devastated by these cruel and senseless murders.

TWO EYES SEEING CLEARLY....PRAISE GOD!!
Yesterday, Cindy and I arrived at the Hamblin Hospital in Morristown, TN. 2 hours later the other eye surgery was done!

This morning, Cindy will drive me to Hamblen Hospital in Morristown, TN for my Cataract eye surgery. I can hardly wait!
Had my right eye done 2 weeks ago and WOW! The surgery went smoothly and what a BLESSING to see clearly.
Dr. Janis Holt is a gifted and excellent eye surgeon.
Folks, you have joined me on so many journey's over these many years.

AND ANOTHER THING....
To date, Air Mobile has placed over 1500 "Rescuers" in 52 countries. This is good. Many units have been donated & funded by generous donors and sent all over the world following terrible disasters (both man-made & natural).
Oh, there are certainly exceptions to that rule, such as Flint MI or East Palestine, Ohio but overall, CLEAN WATER is relatively available and bottled water can certainly fill in the gaps.
So, I suggest that we look toward home and have a means of CLEANING UP DIRTY, CONTAMINATED WATER.
We, at Air Mobile, are gearing up for just such contingencies. We are stocking up on the "long-pole" components (ones that take a while to get here) so that we will be better prepared for when our access to CLEAN WATER is jeopardized.
I would rather be "over prepared" than "under prepared". Again, CLEAN WATER is a non-negotiable!
So, today, I've given you some of my thoughts about the days ahead.
Well, those are my thoughts for the day. On another note, as I have shared before, "pieces are coming together" for our next mission.
PLEASE continue to PRAY that we are directed by the Holy Spirit and will be in the right place at the right time.

CLEAN DRINKING WATER....
It is so easy for us in America to take CLEAN DRINKING WATER for granted. For many, it is just turning on the tap.
For others, it's buying a case of bottled water, or a few gallon jugs or even 5 gallon Culligan jugs.
It doesn't become a problem until we either can't get to the store, or our tap water becomes contaminated. Then, things get serious.
Of course, those who have thought this through and bought, or secured a means of taking dirty water and in some cases, extremely contaminated water and making it very clean. Those have a very hefty advantage in hard times.
Who knows when that time will come? One thing is for sure...we are living in very perilous times. Things can happen very quickly.
Many things we can do without...I won't list them, but simple common sense will tell us. One thing we CANNOT do without is CLEAN DRINKING WATER!

RIDING THE "RESCUES".....
Cindy and I spent a lovely "Mother's Day" together. We had a delicious meal at Aubrey's in Morristown after Church.
Then, back to our sweet little farm to ride our "Rescue" horses. Here's Cindy on Phoenix, a beautiful Tennessee Walker.
Hard to imagine such a majestic horse bound for the Mexico Dog Food plant... and we had the privilege to rescue this beauty.
Here's Cindy on Ti Gato (Little Cup Cake in Creole). This Arabian was, likewise "Rescued".
This time, with our horses, brought my Cindy so much joy on this "Mother's Day".
Today, it's back to work on our little farm. BTW, we're getting a nice Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier order from Operation Blessing ready for delivery.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! &....A TIME TO HEAL
THANK YOU JESUS!!
Have had both knees replaced (doing very well). Just had cataract surgery on my right eye and eagerly awaiting, getting my left eye done.
BTW, following all of my surgeries, Cindy, who is also a very skilled RN, has lovingly cared for me during the recoveries.
My Cindy has had both shoulders done and she's doing very well.
We have had amazing surgeons and loving and caring and skilled medical personnel.
We are flat-out BLESSED & THANKFUL for the HEALING & the LOVE that we are experiencing.
We are getting ready for the days ahead and for our Lord giving us the ability to walk and see and being free from so much pain.
So, dear Lord, here we are...send us!! In the meantime, we're just enjoying our little farm with all of our critters...horses, donkeys, ducks, cats and dogs. WE ARE BLESSED!!
In addition to these BLESSINGS, my Cindy has been faithfully putting in a wonderful garden. Again, the BLESSINGS of our sweet SAVIOR!
On this beautiful Sunday morning, we're getting ready for Church. Little Mulberry Baptist Church is a wonderful and very sweet Church! Life is good!!

Yesterday, Cindy and I dodged a couple of storms and arrived at Hamblen Hospital in Morristown right on time.
I was quickly prepared for surgery, rolled into the operating room and in 10 minutes the surgery was finished. It was pretty much PAINLESS and EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL.
Today, I'm looking through a right 20/20 eye. PRAISE GOD!!
Now, in about 2 weeks, I'll have the left eye done. It's hard to grasp how smooth and easy it is.
Folks, I'm SO THANKFUL for such excellent medical care!!
I'm ever reminded of those who have little or no medical care and for those who are thirsty and for those facing extreme danger due to WAR!
I'm again THANKFUL for our Lord helping me to get in better shape to serve Him more effectively.
Wow, new knees and a 20/20 eye ball and soon, will have the left one done. LORD, You are so good!!!

DURING MY ROUTINE FLIGHT PHYSICAL....
In advance of meeting my Flight Surgeon, I had an Eye Test. It was then discovered that I had cataracts and surgery was suggested...even though I could still pass the physical.
So...I scheduled surgery to do one eye and in a few weeks the other eye. Today is the day.

CALM BEFORE THE STORM.....
Keeping a close eye on the Caribbean as we approach Hurricane Season. Now is the time to begin building up our inventory of "Rescuer" water purifiers.

In all my years, have not seen such flagrant ANTI-SEMITISM as what is unfolding before our eyes at Columbia University.
Here's more - COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY RABBI: JEWISH STUDENTS SHOULD LEAVE!
I can't help but believe that this outbreak of pure hatred is only held by a small minority.
But...as I see the flames rapidly spreading to other prominent U.S. Universities (YALE, HARVARD, MIT, BERKLEY etc, etc,) perhaps, this belief is larger than I thought.
At any rate, I PRAY for our Lord to have His way in my life and lead and guide each step of the way!!

A BIT LATE....
Usually, long before now, my rambling daily Blog would be posted. So here's what happened...
I got up this morning and began to write the Blog when...the phone rang and then the horses & donkeys were hollering for their food and the ducks needed to be let out.
And then, I dashed to the Sneedville Hospital and had my PT (Physical Therapy) for the day.
When I finally got back to the Cabin and I checked my email I found that I had begun the blog but didn't finish it.
So...that's the series of events that led up to this late Blog. It's better late....than never.
Between feeding the critters and heading to my PT, had an in depth conversation with some of my contacts in Haiti.
The situation there is absolutely horrifying. WE PRAY!!!
I can tell you this, with the direction from our Lord we will go there when He clears us to go. Of course, we will not publish our travel itinerary for deep security reasons.
I know that many are suffering from the lack of clean water and are cut-off from getting it. We will help as we can.

ON THE BRINK OF....EXPANDED WAR WITH IRAN
Looks like we are teetering on the edge with Iran threatening Israel with a "massive attack"
According to the "experts", this attack could occur any minute. We are standing by and at the same time PRAYING.
I recall in the Scripture, the Disciples asked our Lord Jesus to..."teach us how to pray".
So, like never before, shall we PRAY...FOR GOD'S WILL TO! BE DONE!!
As we PRAY, may we open our hearts & ears to hear HIS voice to us. May HE guide us and lead us through these turbulent water.
Remember, Jesus told us that these days would come. Just read Matthew 24, as Jesus describes to us, in great detail what these days would look like.
On a practical and extremely important note, let me ask..."Are you prepared for hard times?" The answer is.."most likely not".
I'm further reminded of the Words of our Lord Jesus as He gave the Parable of the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25.
5 were wise and 5 were foolish. The foolish ones put off or postponed replenishing the oil for their lamps.
In simpler terms for us...we should PREPARE NOW...while the stores are open and supplies are plentiful (mainly food & water).
Take a look at your pantry and fridge and other vital things you may need i.e. medicine, batteries, etc. etc.
Of course, in any PREPARATION, we must include a provision for CLEAN DRINKING WATER!

A WONDERFUL DAY AT A LOVELY FARM.....
Yesterday, Cindy and Yahn, along with his family spent an absolutely lovely day on the Mills River Farm in Asheville, NC.
The event was "Farm Where You Live". Many of the attendees were either farmers, homesteaders and or those that want to be.
We heard prominent speakers, including Joel Salatin, a very famous guy in these circles.
Joel has written many books on farming and surviving in difficult times.

BTW, all that Physical Therapy (PT) I've been doing is certainly paying off. I was able to walk and talk to many attendees.
PRAISE GOD for that total knee-replacement surgery!!
After this great event, we headed back to our beloved "Retreat Cabin".
Now, it's time to head to church. Sure love our sweet church, Little Mulberry Baptist Church.

NOW EARTHQUAKES!!
New York City was struck by a series of earthquakes yesterday measuring 4.8 & 4.0.
It's been 140 years since the region has had a significant quake. Fortunately, no serious damage or injury. We THANK GOD for that.
Earthquakes certainly have the ability to get ones attention. It's a good time to turn our eyes on to Jesus.
Meanwhile, Cindy and I, along with Yahn Gray and his family arrived in North Carolina to attend the "Farm Where You Live" Festival.
What a remarkable tool to have during disasters...such as earthquakes.
So, it's time to set up and meet with some nice folks and a lot of farmers or those want to be.

The News today is quite alarming. Major WAR could break out any moment. WE PRAY!
The 7 World Central Kitchen (WCK) Humanitarian workers who were tragically bombed and killed breaks our hearts.

Though our hearts are broken, we continue to march forward on the Mission of saving lives as Jesus would have us to do.
On another sad note, Cindy's little sister, Sue died yesterday. We are sad at this terrible loss. Please PRAY for Cindy during this tragic and painful time.
Meanwhile, Cindy and I are heading to North Carolina to the "Farm Where You Live" Festival beginning today.

PT & TEARS....
Our hearts are broken after the tragic mistake of killing 7 World Central Kitchen (WCK) humanitarian workers in Gaza.
I can't begin to tell you how much this hurts. We've had the privilege to work with these and other incredibly brave workers in some of the most dangerous spots around the globe.
PLEASE PRAY for the families of the 7 killed World Central Kitchen (WCK) workers, and for WCK as they deal with this catastrophic loss!
Well, it's time to head to the hospital for my scheduled PT (Physical Therapy) following my knee-replacement surgery.

The earth is on a course to give us a SPECTACUAR SOLAR ECLIPSE, but are there DANGERS?
Well, for one, some suggest..."Not being on the road during it...."

UP & ABOUT....
Due to some good PT (Physical Therapy), along with a lot of prayer support, I'm beginning to range out from our sweet "Retreat Cabin".
Yesterday, Cindy and I attended Easter Service at our home church, Little Mulberry Baptist Church. It was good to get out and though still a bit weak, I'm regaining my strength.
We'll be demonstrating the "Air Mobile Rescuer" water purifier. We look forward to meeting folks in this "Homesteading" Community.
