THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES.....SEPTEMBER 2019

10-2-19 Wednesday 6:07 AM (Eastern U.S. Time) - Titusville, FL  (Air Mobile 'Home Base') - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT.....

Oh, it's so good to see that BEAUTIFUL engine on the Little Donkey!

We still have a ways to go before that long-awaited "Test Flight".

We have components being sent out for overhaul and parts on order.  I can hardly wait!!

In the meantime, we're building Air Mobile Rescuers and gathering food, medicine and critical supplies for the Bahamas.

Also, I'm calling on my friends to "loan" me an airplane again for our next mission to the Bahamas.

Today, Cindy and I will be traveling to Tampa to meet with several doctors to discuss my medical situation and the best course to take.  PLEASE pray for our Lord's wisdom and guidance and healing!!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

PREPARING....

We're building more Air Mobile Rescuers as well as gathering up supplies, food, tools, medicine etc., for our next mission.

As we know, the Hurricane Season IS NOT OVER.

Just saw that Hurricane Lorenzo has 100' WAVES near the center.

Here's more - HURRICANE LORENZO CHURNS UP SURF FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES ACROSS THE ATLANTIC; SOME WAVE HEIGHTS COULD TOP 100 FEET!!

It's a good plan to be PREPARED for what storms might lie ahead!!

Yesterday, Yahn (Premier Water Mule) and Bob Bostic of Deliver the Difference, loaded up more donated supplies to ship to the Bahamas.

In the meantime, we're working on another "Borrowed" airplane and may be flying back to the Bahamas....sooner than later.

BTW, we're making steady progress on getting the Little Donkey back in the air.  I can hardly wait!!

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

JESUS ENCOUNTER....

One of the amazing opportunities we have is going through the OPEN DOOR at the Hospital in Orlando.

22 years ago, Cindy and I asked the Hospital Administrator if we could conduct a Sunday Service.  He gave us permission.

All these years later, our Air Mobile Team goes and shares the GOOD NEWS of JESUS conducting 3 Services every single Sunday.

In respect to the "Confidentiality" Regulations, we can't give any details of these services.

However, I can tell you that over the years, we've seen countless professions of faith.  We've encountered our Lord Jesus in so many ways.

Yesterday was no exception.  I can't begin to tell you what a JOY it is to simply share our faith and PRAY for the sick and needy.

I'm reminded of the Scripture in Matthew 25:36...."I was sick and you visited Me".

At the moment, we're keeping a close eye on the weather in the Caribbean.

We're building more Air Mobile Rescuers to keep the CLEAN WATER flowing in the hard to reach places in the Bahamas.

And....I'm enjoying spending some quiet time at home.  It's good to RECHARGE one's batteries.

So, on this quiet day in Florida, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

HOME....

Folks, I can tell you, it's good to be home!

Between extensive Search & Rescue (SAR) missions and Relief Flights to the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian...I'm exhausted!

It's just good to be in Florida, at home, getting ready for church.  Ahhh!!

But, in the Caribbean and Eastern Atlantic, there's another "Monster Storm" , though it's not threatening land at this time.

Hurricane Lorenzo, last night broke all records for the latest, most powerful storm (CAT 5!) to form in the Eastern Atlantic.

Here's more on Hurricane Lorenzo - HURRICANE LORENZO BECAME A CAT 5 HURRICANE SATURDAY NIGHT; STRONGEST ON RECORD IN EASTERN ATLANTIC

This storm demonstrates that...THE SEASON IS NOT OVER!

This is the reason that we need to be PREPARED for what lies ahead.

In the meantime, we're gathering more supplies, and building more Air Mobile Rescuers to be READY for the storms ahead, as well as for the thousands who are suffering in the Bahamas!

I'm so THANKFUL that we were able to get those 5 additional Air Mobile Rescuers to Abaco on Friday.  PRAISE GOD!!!

Time to head out the door for Church and then to the Hospital in Orlando for our Chaplain ministry.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

SLIPPPING IN.....

What a day!

Yesterday began with an early load of 5 Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers, and other critical supplies, at Orlando Executive airport.

I was joined by my good friend, Barry Russel, Missions Pastor for the "Grove" Church in Titusville.

Of course, as is often the case, this flight began with an old flying" relationship.

I met Scott back in 1987 at Marathon Flight Academy.  We were both working on getting our ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) rating.

Our Instructor was a flying legend, Captain Ernie Pretsch.  Ernie had 40,000+ hours and began flying for TWA in 1936.

Captain Ernie was a bit ornery but a GREAT flight Instructor!

Well, Scott went on to the airlines and is a Captain for Southwest Airline.  Scott's Beechcraft Baron (behind us) is often used following disasters.

Scott graciously offered to arrange for Barry and I to fly this load to the Abacos, specifically, Treasure Cay, which was DEVASTATED by Hurricane Dorian.

Again, where would we be without so many good folks who help us in these missions??!!!  THANK YOU, SCOTT!!!

This early morning mission involved 2 aircraft.  Scott's Baron and another friend, Frank who owned a beautiful Cessna 310.

After loading both aircraft, we lifted off, right on schedule, for the short flight to the Abacos.

As we approached Treasure Cay, we could see the tell-tale evidence of the 20+ foot surge that completely inundated the Island.  All of the trees and under brush was the salt-water brown.  Frank did a SWEET landing.

Once unloaded, we were met by the recipients of 2 of the Air Mobile Rescuers.  I immediately went into "hyper-speed" training mode, as I only had a few minutes on the ground.  Jana and her associate were great students.

It is always a GREAT JOY to present Air Mobile Rescuers into competent hands who will bring CLEAN WATER where desperately needed!!!

The other units are going to Medical Team that has been in continual operation on the Island since the day after Dorian ravaged the Bahamas.

After the training was complete and the precious cargo safely transferred, we were back in the air heading Orlando Executive airport where this mission began just a few hours before.

PRAISE GOD for strategic deployments and great friends with great equipment.

Barry shared a few thoughts of the mission upon landing.

AGAIN...WHAT A DAY!!!!

After that "Whirlwind" Mission yesterday, I'll be back in the Cockpit continuing my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) Rating.

Been so busy flying Search & Rescue (SAR) and strategic deployment missions to the Bahamas, have been unable to get the flight training in for the CFI.  But today...the training will resume!!!

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!

SEASON AIN'T OVER....GATHERING FOOD & WATER!

We reached the "Peak" of Hurricane Season last week, but it's far from over.

Last night, a Cat 4 Hurricane (Lorenzo) rapidly formed in the Atlantic with winds of 145 mph.

Though Hurricane Lorenzo does not appear to be a threat to land, it does show that the Season still has some deadly punch.

Here's more on Hurricane Lorenzo - HURRICANE LORENZO BECOMES A RARE EASTERN ATLANTIC CATEGORY 4!

We're placing Air Mobile Rescuers in strategic locations for folks who need clean water and...should another Hurricane reach the Bahamas, we'll be better prepared!!

Yesterday, we had the blessing to have Bob & Mare Bostic (DELIVER THE DIFFERENCE) along with John & Jacki Clarke (NO ONE HUNGRY)  together at the hangar.

What a blessing to introduce Bob & Mare to John & Jacki!  These folks have a true calling and mission to DELIVER FOOD TO THE HUNGRY!!

Bob & Mare "Delivered" 5400 meals for the next storm.  PRAISE GOD!

These Guys know how to find food when the chips are down!  Air Mobile can make clean water!  What a TEAM!!

Soon....we'll be heading back to hard-hit areas and bringing critical CLEAN WATER!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

CLEARED....WATCHING KAREN

The Maintenance is complete on the borrowed aircraft & we're set to go on Friday.  We'll be bringing in more Air Mobile Rescuers and training the operators at the airport, PRAISE GOD!!

However, we're keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Karen.  Forecasters are having a difficult time predicting just what this storm will do.

It could fizzle out or strengthen.  We're PRAYING for her to just fizzle out!

The Bahamas sure doesn't need any more storms right now!!

My good friend, Bob Bostic of Deliver the Difference will be meeting us at the airport later today to bring us some good, nutritious, long-lasting food for the Bahamas.

THANK GOD for good friends and Brothers in Christ!!

Together, we're fulfilling the Words and Mandates given to us by Jesus...."I was hungry and you gave Me to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me to drink..."

And....THANK GOD for you, who meander down this road of life with us.  Your prayer, love and support is absolutely vital to the success of our mission!!!

AWAITING MAINTENANCE....

The aircraft that we're "borrowing" for our next mission to the Bahamas is down for maintenance.  We hope to have it back in the air very soon.

BTW, we're making good progress on getting the "Little Donkey" back in the air.  I can hardly wait!!

In the meantime, we're working on other supply chains.

Had a wonderful meeting with my good friend and brother in Christ, John Clarke and his wife Jacki.

John is the Founder & Director of "Reducing Hunger", a great ministry that we've worked closely with following other disasters.

We met at the airport yesterday and exchanged Bibles for food or food for Bibles whichever way you want to look at it, it's a good exchange!

Here's what happened.  John had just picked up a load of food to be sent to the Bahamas and I had just been donated 100 Bibles.

John needed the Bibles immediately and we needed the food.  Surely, our Lord provides....Spiritual Food & Natural Food!

So, today, we await word on our "borrowed" aircraft and Paul, our great mechanic is preparing the Little Donkey to hang the engine.  Yea!!

And...we're keeping a very close eye on TS Karen.  Could she be shades of Hurricane Jeanne 2004?

Here's more - COULD "KAREN" TAKE ANOTHER WIERD LOOP TOWARD THE BAHAMAS / U.S. LIKE HURRICANE JEANNE DID 15 YEARS AGO??

THANK YOU for your faithful and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

PACK & LOAD

Getting ready to return to the Bahamas.  Keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Karen

...that just may make a hard left turn and head due West after passing Puerto Rico.

Which...BTW, had a strong earthquake (6.0) this morning.  I so remember the devastation of Hurricane Maria and the terrible impact it made on Puerto Rico.

Should Karen make that turn to the west, the Bahamas and Florida will be in the path.  We PRAY that Karen just "fizzles out"!

Here's more on Karen - TROPICAL STORM KAREN: A FLOOD THREAT FOR PUERTO RICO / VIRGIN ISLANDS

The timing of our next mission to the Bahamas is good because it lets us get water purifiers into place BEFORE the next storm hits.

So, today we're gathering up supplies and getting ready to fly!

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

GETTING READY....STAYING READY

Now that Hurricane Dorian has done so much damage, we've been able to strategically place water purifiers throughout the Bahamas.

Later this week, we'll be bringing in more Rescuers and PREPARING for the storms that may be ahead.

We're particularly watching Tropical Storm Karen.

After passing Puerto Rico, Karen just may turn to the West.

This may impact the U.S. AFTER passing over the BAHAMAS...

That's the reason we're heading back to the Bahamas later this week.

Here's more on Tropical Storm Karen - TROPICAL STORM KAREN WARNINGS: WHY WE'RE WATCHING KAREN SO CLOSELY

We'll be checking Rescuers in place, and placing more in areas of great need.

Will write more later.  God bless & THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

FULL HOUSE....HANGAR

One thing is for sure.  John Webb was certainly loved by many.

What a man, what a life, what a legacy!

We'll sure miss you, John!!

It was my distinct privilege and joy to officiate the Memorial Service for John.

It was wonderful to see so many turn out to remember this remarkable man.

Literally, HUNDREDS came to pay tribute to John Webb!

The Hangar was full!!

John and Company (Orlando Aircraft Service) kept not only the "Little Donkey" communicating and navigating extremely well, but so many others including many of my friends who fly aircraft in our Lord's Service.

It is very good to know that the wonderful services and quality of Orlando Aircraft Services are in extremely capable hands with his son, Troy at the helm.

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning in Florida, it's time for church at my home church, Redeemer.

Will then be heading to the Hospital in Orlando to conduct our Chaplain Service to those who are hurting.

I'm THANKFUL to our Lord for giving us this OPEN DOOR to share His love.

This coming week, we hope to back in the air, in a "borrowed" aircraft bringing in more Air Mobile Rescuers to those who are in such need in the Bahamas.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

FAREWELL

Cindy and I were able to have a short but sweet time at the "Retreat Cabin".

I bid her farewell yesterday morning and hit the road for the 12 hour journey back to Florida.

I'll be conducting the Memorial Service in Orlando for my long-time and dear friend, John Webb this morning.

John and Company (Orlando Aircraft Services) has kept all of our "Communication & Navigation" equipment on our aircraft in excellent working order for the last 37 years.

Will sure miss my friend.  Please remember to PRAY for the Webb family and for the many who will miss our dear friend, John.

Troy, John's son has been extremely well-trained and very capable, thanks to John's good teaching and example.

We'll be flying back to Bahamas early this coming week with more Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers!  PRAISE GOD!!

Well, it's time to head to Orlando Executive Airport and the Memorial Service.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

WICKED STORMS...MAJOR FLOODING

Just watching the "Weather Channel", my head is spinning.

The folks in the Bahamas are devastated.

The Houston area is experiencing catastrophic flooding.  Hurricanes are brewing.

Bermuda's the target for Hurricane Jerry.  WOW!

We're asking our Lord to lead us and guide us each step of the way.

We're building water purifiers as fast as we can...getting ready for our next deployment.

Cindy has joined me at the cabin and we're PRAYING about where to go next.

I'll be back in Florida this weekend to officiate the Memorial for my dear friend, John Webb.

John & Company has kept all of our aircraft in top condition when it comes to Avionics since 1982!

Sure going to miss John.

PLEASE join us in prayer that our Lord will lead us to the exact disasters that He wants us to go.  There is so much need all around us.

And, THANK YOU for joining together with us on this journey to bring help and God's love to those in such need!!

6 NAMED STORMS....WHOA!

There is certainly a lot of storm-making instability in the air!

Here's a record...6 Named Storms at once!

Nation Hurricane Center (NHC) says..."they're forming like roaches"!

Here's more - 6 NAMED STORMS...BEWARE

We're keeping a close eye on Jerry and praying he turns north before getting to the Bahamas!!

With even the slightest "wobble" to the West, the Bahamas will be hammered again.

Here's more - THEN THERE'S TROPICAL STORM (SOON TO BE HURRICANE) JERRY

That's why we're making as many Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers as we can!

Also, a number of my friends who have boats and want to bring help to the Bahamas are hindered by storms, high seas and winds.

This is further increasing the suffering in the Bahamas.

We're planning another Mission to the Bahamas early next week....as soon as we complete building more Air Mobile Rescuers.

We still need funding for these units.  I want to THANK YOU for your generosity!

But please PRAY that the funding continues to come in so that we can place MORE UNITS IN STRATEGIC LOCATIONS!!

We are at the PEAK of the Hurricane Season and NOW is the time to PREPARE for more storms!!

And, today, my Cindy will arrive at the cabin for a little break.  She has been working so hard at the Hospital!

PRAISE GOD for this "Retreat Cabin" to recharge!!

Air Mobile has sent out all of the Rescuers that we have (26!) and....we're building more!  PRAISE GOD!

In the meantime, we're recharging our batteries.  This time at the Retreat Cabin is perfect for that.

We're planning our next flights into the Bahamas once all of the components arrive and the Air Mobile Rescuers are tested and ready to deploy.

We're also keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Jerry.  Though projected to turn north, we know how unpredictable these storms can be.  Best to be READY!!

UP EARLY....LATE BLOG...REST

This weekend, will be conducting a funeral for a dear friend of mine who recently passed away.  I awoke at 3:30AM and wrote out my Eulogy.

Then...went back to sleep and just got up at 9:30AM. The truth is...I'm exhausted.

Been doing a lot of intense flying and I'm just not as young as I used to be.  There just comes a time to REST.

The Retreat Cabin is an extraordinary place to recuperate.

Today, will be mowing some fields and cutting some firewood.

Am also planning the strategy to get back to the Bahamas. I might have an aircraft to use.  Will advise.

We're building more Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers and awaiting critical components to be delivered to complete them.

BTW, underneath the plastic wrap is the freshly overhauled engine for the Little Donkey!  Yea!

Will soon be back in the air...and no more need to "borrow" friends airplanes!

So, during this quiet, peaceful time at the cabin, I want to THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!!

RETREAT.....

Had a safe, uneventful flight from Spartanburg, SC to Gatlinburg, TN.  So THANKFUL for the use of the Beechcraft Baron.

Our precautionary stop in Spartanburg, SC due to a solid line of "wicked" thunderstorms was a good thing for multiple reasons.

First of all, no need to fight thunderstorms if you don't have to.

Second, it gave Dave Walen Sr. a wonderful opportunity to be with Dave Walen, Jr. and spend some precious time with his Grandkids!

So, after an extremely pleasant visit with Dave's family, we flew the final leg back to Gatlinburg, TN where we "borrowed" the great Beechcraft Baron from Dr. Kenneth Justice.

I know that I say this a lot....but where would we be without so many folks who truly help us along the way??

Example:  Dr. Justice "loaning" us his airplane to fly emergency relief flights into the Bahamas following the deadly and catastrophic Hurricane Dorian!!

THANK YOU again, Dr. Justice!!!

After the delivery, I wound through the mountains of East TN and found myself at the Air Mobile Retreat Cabin.  Slept in this morning....all the way to 8:30am.

Keeping a close eye on Hurricane Humberto and seeing what other storms might brewing and stewing and heading our way....and figuring when our next "Mission" to the Bahamas will be.

Working on the second cup of coffee and looking forward to a few quiet days, doing chores around the cabin and listening to the Word of God.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!

AN "UNEXPECTED" STOP

It was time to get the sweet little Baron back to the good Doctor (Dr. Kenneth Justice) who so graciously loaned it to us for the Bahama mission.

He simply asked us to stop in Fernandina Beach and pick up some special shrubs for his garden.

No problem, they fit nicely into the cabin of the Baron.

After a nice lunch, where our server, when finding out that we have just returned from a Relief Mission to the Bahamas, he loaded us down with some nice donated clothes.

Then, we were off to Gatlinburg, TN.  We noted that we might have a "little" problem with weather near our destination.

Little did we know that that "Little Weather" would "blossom into a huge solid line with tops up to 45,000'.

Just below us was a nice little airport and close to that airport lived David's son, David Jr.

Indeed, "Discretion is the better part of valor."

We landed, were met by David, Jr.  Went to the famous "Side Street Pizza" in Tryon, NC for dinner.

And I was able to watch my beloved LSU Tigers whip Northwestern State.  What a nice way to spend an evening after a diverted flight.

Today, we'll deliver the Baron and take a little time off at the cabin and just rest a bit.

We're building Air Mobile Rescuers for more deployments in the Bahamas.  We're still raising funding to place them there.  THANK YOU for your prayer and generosity.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE BAHAMAS!!!!

9-14-19 Saturday 6:17 AM (Eastern U.S. Time) - Titusville, FL  ("Air Mobile Home Base") - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

GOT OUT OF BAHAMAS....AHEAD OF TROPICAL STORM HUMBERTO!

When you borrow someone's airplane, especially a beautiful Beechcraft Baron, you want to be particularly careful to keep it out of harms (storms coming) way.

Of course, even if it were the Air Mobile, "Little Donkey" we would have "scooted" out of the storms way.

So, Dave and I wrapped up our mission to the Bahamas in "double time" and fired up the engines on the slippery Baron and dashed back to the U.S. out of harms way.

You can see our route required a bit maneuvering around the leading edge of Humberto.

On our way to the airport, we saw this crashed airplane and you can see the water level of the "Storm Surge" on the buildings behind.

Tropical Storm Humberto, that was bearing down on the Bahamas, gave us a good push back to the U.S.  Got up to 229 Knots (264 MPH!).

WHEW, that is a quick plane, especially with a good tailwind!

While in the Bahamas, we spent incredible time with Gerand Turnquest, the Director of Water Services on Grand Bahama.

Many of Gerand's  tools were washed away due to Dorian, including some of his valuable test instruments.

Just so happened I brought an extra one with me.  Gerand gladly accepted my gift!

Dave and I slept in the Church's Distribution Center in our own tents.  Accommodations are extremely limited.  We were prepared.

We owe a huge THANKS Bahama Faith Ministries (BFM) and Pastor Larry Russel for his help and guidance and willingness to help get the Air Mobile Rescuers into strategic locations!  THANK YOU PASTOR LARRY!!!!!

Was able to explain the Air Mobile Rescuer in great detail to Gerand.  We also set up and deployed a unit at one of the local hospitals on the Island.

I love putting my hot stinky foot into the source water and drinking it AFTER it goes through the Air Mobile Rescuer.  The proof is in the pudding.

We also spent time inspecting the units and explaining their operation in more detail to Gerand.

Here's more on Tropical Storm Humberto - HUMBERTO MOVING EAST TO THE NORTHWESTERN BAHAMAS; EXPECTED TO BECOME A HURRICANE & TRACK NEAR BERMUDA

I just received this snap shot of Chris Mobley, son of Dr. Ed Mobley who lost their home in the Abacos.

BACK IN THE BAHAMAS....LOOKING AT THE WEATHER!

Not again!!  Looks like another Tropical Storm is coming our way!

Here's more - TROPICAL STORM HUMBERTO AIMING FOR THE BAHAMAS / FLORIDA

Dave and I knew we had a very tight window to get into and out of the Bahamas before another Tropical Storm hit!

We made a quick flight into the Bahamas yesterday evening in the Baron.

We'll be in critical meetings today with Water / Sanitation Engineers to explore the best way to get CLEAN WATER to the folks that so disparately need it.

We'll be in whirlwind meetings today and all the time, looking over our shoulders for this storm that is surely coming our way.

This is a very short blog today, as time is of the essence and the internet signal is extremely weak.

HEADING BACK TO THE BAHAMAS....

After delivering the R.A.M. Cessna Caravan back to Knoxville, TN, we picked up a Beechcraft Baron in Gatlinburg, TN yesterday.

We flew from Gatlinburg, TN to Titusville, FL yesterday afternoon.

BTW, we were able to give our dear sister, Barbara Walker (AKA:  Rambo in the Blue Dress ) a ride all the way from Haiti to the Bahamas to Tennessee and now to Florida.  She'll be flying back to her home New York.

We enjoyed having Barb with us on these missions!

And, I'm especially THANKFUL to Dave Walen for arranging this great airplane and....for taking time from his Law Practice to fly it with me on these critical missions!

What a quick airplane.  The Baron clocked nearly 200 knots the whole way.

And a special THANKS to Dr. Kenneth Justice for loaning us his pretty, quick little plane for the next missions to the Bahamas!

We landed yesterday evening in Titusville right at sunset.

BTW, we made the flight in 2 hours and 37 minutes.  Wow, what a gift!

OH, it was so good being home, even if for only a few hours.

My Cindy made us a delicious dinner and sleeping in my own bed felt so GOOD!

Up this morning and getting ready to head back the Bahamas.

Will be checking on the units already in place and will be assisting in deploying units to hard-hit, difficult to reach places.

PLEASE REMEMBER to PRAY FOR US!!!

And....THANK YOU for your faithful PRAYER, LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!

I saw this story on Channel 2 WESH (NBC) yesterday evening.  Dan Billow and I go way back to Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

TIME TO RE-LOAD.....

Having delivered 22 Air Mobile Rescuers to the Bahamas and training Volunteers to operate them, it was time to get the R.A.M. Cessna Caravan back to it's home base in Tennessee.

It was with a heavy heart to leave the Bahamas, but it is time to RELOAD.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE BAHAMAS!!!

After departing the Bahamas, we cleared Customs at Fort Lauderdale.  There we picked up a rebuilt propeller for the other R.A.M. Caravan.

We then flew it to Bassler, Alabama to be installed.

All along the way, we worked around some powerful thunderstorms.

So THANKFUL for on-board weather radar.

We then made our way back to the R.A.M. home base in Knoxville, TN.

It was  LONG DAY OF FLYING!!

When we landed at the Downtown Airport in Knoxville, I was TIRED & mentally & emotionally exhausted.  It was time to "retreat & refuel".

Worked my way back to the cabin and slept like a log.

Will be arranging for another airplane and reload of critical supplies to head back to the Bahamas.

I know that I say this every single day, but I mean it with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!

TRAINING "WATER MULES"!

Had the privilege yesterday to TRAIN a group of Bahamian Volunteers to bring CLEAN WATER to the THIRSTY!!

Thanks to Pastor Larry and Church we had approximately 25 Volunteers to take the Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers into the hardest hit areas of the Bahamas!

Meanwhile, "Premier Water Mule" Joe Prussel was with a team that brought 2 Air Mobile Rescuers to a tiny Island in the Abacos.

All of our Operations are taking place with safety and success THANKS to your PRAYERS & GOD'S AMAZING GRACE!!

We'll be "Re-Positioning" the R.A.M. Cessna Caravan today.

ALL CLEARED!!!!

NOTE: I have VERY LIMITED internet.  This blog will be brief.

We departed our alternate Staging location in the Bahamas.  It's hard to grasp that these spectacular Islands could be so devastated.  These below me are still gorgeous.

Upon landing at our primary staging area, we were met by the Pastor of a leading ministry here in the Bahamas.  I have known and worked with this ministry for over 40 years!!

Along the way to our staging location we saw evidence everywhere of Dorian.

For now, we'll not identify this ministry until we have secured the locations and system for delivering the Air Mobile Rescuers.

It's an amazing privilege to have Barbara Walker with us.

We affectionately call her..."Rambo in the Blue Dress".  She's one tough missionary!!!

Through favor and grace, ALL of our supplies, including the 20 Air Mobile Rescuers were IMMEDIATLEY CLEARED!  PRAISE GOD!!

Accommodations are extremely sparse in this location and we're thankful to have had a bed to lay our heads.

I'll write more later.  GOD BLESS YOU & THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

AIR MOBILE...IN THE BAHAMAS

We departed Port-au-Prince yesterday for the Bahamas.  Before leaving Haiti, was able to service 3 Air Mobile Rescuers for Barbara Walker's Village.

And...had the honor to bring Barb out of Haiti. She a valuable Team Member for water deployments.

We've worked together in many countries over the years following terrible disasters.

We had an excellent flight to the Bahamas.  Upon landing, we've set up our Base of Operations.

Have already been in touch with my good friend and great "Water Mule" Joe Prussel.  Joe is on-board a boat at this time heading to a certain Island. Will be meeting up with him soon.

Also, been speaking with my good friend, Ben Seal of Southern Helicopters.

We may able to team up with his pilot and have access to the Bell Jet Ranger for specific deployments.  THANK YOU JESUS!

The tragedy that is occurring here in the Bahamas is just heart-breaking!!

Here's more - ESCAPE ABACOS....ONLY ANIMALS CAN LIVE HERE  Time to head out into this day.

SKIRTING ALONG THE EDGE OF DORIAN....LANDING IN HAITI...NEXT STOP:  THE BAHAMAS

After 9 hours of intense flying and ending the day on the ramp in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, John & I collapsed.

Barbara Walker (AKA:  Rambo in the Blue Dress) met us at the airport and gave a comfortable bed in which to sleep.

The WONDERFUL THING is that the Haitian people arranged for a plane load of critical supplies for the Bahamas!

THE WONDERFUL TRANSFER!!!

So, we were able to unload the medical supplies for Haiti and in-turn load up food (MRE's) and incredible EMERGENCY MEDICAL supplies for the injured in the Bahamas!  PRAISE GOD!

A very special THANKS to STACY BOURNE OF H.E.R.O. RESCUE for coordinating these precious gifts and getting them to the airport to meet us.  THANK YOU STACY!!!

Now, when we landed in Opa Locka, FL for fuel and to get the balance of the water purifiers, we were WARNED of the extreme danger of flying into certain islands in the Bahamas.

Here's more - DORIAN TRIGGERS PANIC, PILLAGING IN BAHAMAS

From here on, I'll not give specific locations that we will be flying to for SECURITY REASONS!

Know this, we have life-saving water purifiers on board and we will, with God's HELP & GRACE & WISDOM get them where they are most needed.

This morning, we're heading to the Bahamas to bring CLEAN WATER, FOOD, MEDICINE to desperate people.

WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS!!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

LAUNCH DAY!!

As Hurricane Dorian passes our route and final medical supplies have been loaded, the hour has come to LAUNCH THE CARAVAN!!

As Dorian strengthens and moves along the U.S. East Coast, we'll be flying southbound headed for Haiti and then the Bahamas.

While awaiting supply delivery and preparing the Caravan for this long mission, was able to speak to numerous Bahamian Officials regarding our mission.

The unanimous response was...THANK YOU & PLEASE GET THOSE CLEAN WATER MACHINES HERE ASAP!!

PRAISE GOD, on our route to Haiti and then to the Bahamas, we'll be stopping in Opa Locka, FL to pick up 15 more Rescuers.  We'll have a total of 20 on-board.

THANK YOU, Garrett Scarborough for driving those units down to south Florida.

BTW, Garrett has been on Air Mobile Relief missions since he was 13 years old.  Garrett is now a Certified EMT and an excellent "Water Mule".

With your prayer and support, we have 7 of the 20 Air Mobile Rescuers funded.  PLEASE PRAY that the remaining funds (($32,500) come in for the balance of the units!!

You may make a donation by going to the upper left corner of this Blog and click on the "DONATE" BUTTON.

LOADING THE CARAVAN!

Today, we'll be loading the critical supplies and multiple Air Mobile Rescuers in the RAM (Remote Area Medical) Cessna Grand Caravan!

We'll first bring supplies to Haiti that had been scheduled months ago and then...on to the Bahamas.

Many of the airports are still closed, but we'll be staging our operation in either Exuma or Nassau.

Our goal is to get CLEAN WATER onto the Islands that have been devastated.

PLEASE PRAY for us to have wisdom as we navigate around DORIAN as well as to get onto the ISLANDS that most need the help.

It's time for me to meet our R.A.M. TEAM and load that CESSNA CARAVAN!

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

HURRICANE DORIAN CRAWLS & MAULS!

Hurricane Dorian has almost completely stalled over Grand Bahama Island.  Flooding and ferocious winds are pounding the island.

Here's more - HURRICANE DORIAN STILL ALMOST STATIONARY - PROJECTED TO BEGIN MARCH UP SOUTHEAST COAST TODAY

Tens of thousands are left homeless and extremely vulnerable all throughout the Northern Bahamas.

Dorian is expected to begin it's slow northerly turn and crawl later today.

This morning, I'll be heading to the R.A.M. HQ & hangar to begin loading the RAM Cessna Caravan.

Our plan is to let Dorian pass and give us a safe shot into Haiti with vital medical supplies.

We'll then re-fuel and pick up more supplies and fly back into the Abacos.

Runways are still closed and storms still block the way.  We'll be getting there as soon as we can.

We plan to bring Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers with us, as the need for CLEAN WATER is paramount!

PLEASE HELP US WITH FUNDING for these units and for the cost to launch this mission.

You may use the "DONATE" BUTTON in the upper left hand side of this blog.

It's time to pack up and head to Knoxville to get that RAM Caravan and begin this vital mission.

WHILE WE'RE WAITING....

It's such a blessing to have my son, Christian and his family up here.

So glad that we have them up here, safe and sound.  Had a lovely day at Elrod Falls.

As you can see from this routing map, it will be a while before we can launch our missions to the Islands and fly in on the back side Dorian.

Our hearts are breaking for those on the Islands who have endured the MONSTER STORM NAMED DORIAN.

ABACO'S DEVASTATED!

WE PRAY FOR ALL IN THE PATH OF THIS DEADLY STORM!!

The kids love the dogs, Andy, Honey and Benjie.

They're just enjoying the Retreat Cabin and again, I'm so glad to have them here!!

I spoke with Cindy this morning, who will be working at the Hospital on 24 hour shifts.  PRAYING for my Cindy.

Tomorrow, will be heading to Knoxville to prepare and load the RAM (Remote Area Medical) Cessna Grand Caravan for relief missions, Search & Rescue (SAR) and whatever else our Lord wants us to do.

But for now, we have to wait for Hurricane Dorian to move out of the way.  WE PRAY that Dorian goes out to sea and dies.

We're continuing to

As always,

Thanks to my good friend, Tony Baratta, have been able to make Pod Casts explaining what we're doing.  THANKS TONY!

DORIAN "POUNDING" BAHAMAS...WHEN WILL SHE TURN?....DORIAN IS A "MONSTER"!!!!

The northern Bahamas are being lashed by Dorian as I type this blog.

We PRAY for those who are there.  I so well remember Andrew....

Here's more - POTENTIAL DISASTER TO COME; 185+MPH ABOUT TO CRUSH NORTHERN BAHAMAS

The big question is...."When will Hurricane Dorian turn?"

Millions of residents in Florida / Georgia / the Carolinas are asking that question.

All Dorian has to do is "wobble" just a little bit and the story can dramatically change.

We certainly PRAY for Cindy who will be working 24 hour shifts in the Hospital.

Again, long before Dorian formed, Cindy signed up for this assignment.  She's a brave and faithful Lady of God!!

WE PRAY for ALL IN THE PATH OF DORIAN!!!

Meanwhile, we'll be getting the RAM Cessna Caravan ready for ACTION!

Long before Dorian was formed, RAM & Air Mobile had planned a Caravan flight to Haiti.  For that, I'm very THANKFUL!!

We'll have the opportunity, either going to or coming from Haiti, to check in with Island that are most devastated and bring them CLEAN WATER!!!

Yesterday evening, I received a report from Natasha Walker.

They just returned from Bermuda having brought island-wide attention to the plight of Justin and Brian.

Their efforts will put many new eyes on the possibility of finding the men.  PRAISE GOD!!!

So, today we watch, wait & PRAY for all who are or will be in the path of Hurricane Dorian.

And THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!!
