STILL COUNTING.....

Early yesterday morning, I "whipped out" my Prayer Journal and began making a "List of Blessings".  It seems the more Blessings we identify & count, the more Blessings we receive.

This simple act, of counting our many blessings, drives discouragement and fear away! 

I find myself humming and singing that wonderful song all throughout the day.

I feel that there are some,  who are reading this blog, who need to hear this message again today.

Again, may I encourage you to open up your heart,  and look around and identify those many blessings and write them down, listing them one by one.  The Lord will surely continue to pour out His Blessings upon you.

I am so appreciative to have you walking down this road of life with me.  GOD BLESS YOU!!

AWAKENED AT 3:00 AM....

Sometimes, I just wake up in the wee-hours, like 3:00 AM, and deal with a lot of thoughts that prevent me from going back to sleep. 

The jumble of thoughts just torments me.  I can't make a call because it's way too early.  So, I just lay there wrestling until....I remember this song...

"Count your Many Blessings, name them one by one....."

I took out my PRAYER JOURNAL and started writing them one by one.  I'm now up to 30 and still counting.  

The TORMENT has left, and JOY is filling my soul.

Next time you wake up and can't go back to sleep due to tormenting thoughts, try this....  "COUNT YOUR MANY BLESSINGS & SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE"!

       

Believe me, it WORKS!  Just thought I'd share this with you today.

WHERE DID THAT HOUR GO?

And just like that, the hour vanished and we have to adjust our lives to absorb the difference.

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning, we're absorbing the time change and getting ready for church.

How long will this crazy "Daylight Saving Time" go on?

Maybe "Common Sense" will abolish it and it will just become a memory.

Time to go let the ducks out and feed the horses and donkeys.  I wonder how they are dealing with this time warp change?

COLORFUL FOLKS....& SPRING FORWARD

Our little town of Sneedville has it's share of colorful folks.  This gentleman, who looks a whole lot like Abe, has just as many colorful stories.

We love our community and we're THANKFUL our Lord put us here.

Well, it's time to make my run to our little town and pick up a few things and check our mail.

DEAR LORD, GIVE ME THE WORDS....

As you may know, I write a blog every single day and have not missed a day in 14+ years!

I usually begin the day with a prayer and a cup of coffee.  Then, there are the daily chores.  Among them, I take care of our ducks and Cindy feeds the horses & donkeys.

In between the prayer and coffee & chores, I write a blog.  I will be honest.  Often I have no idea what I am going to write.  I ask our Lord to give me the words.  Sometimes He does and sometimes He doesn't.

Those are the blogs where I just ramble on a bit.  But the main reason I write this Daily Blog is to be accountable to those who PRAY for me and support our efforts of bringing CLEAN WATER to a THIRSTY WORLD in the Name of Jesus.

So, today, I pray and ask our to lead me and direct me into the paths that He would have me to walk.  I am so THANKFUL  to have you along this journey with me.

And I know that I say this every day, but it certainly bears repeating...THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A THANKFUL HEART....

 

As I sit in my "Retreat Cabin" /  Office, here in the mountains of East TN, my heart is overflowing with THANKFULNESS.  

There are so many things for which to be THANKUL!

We have the old wood-stove that gives us warmth and the ability to cook.  Such a simple thing, but such a BLESSING!

Here, at our sweet "Retreat Cabin", we have the internet...that is relatively reliable.  With this wonderful tool, we can reach around the world.  For that, we are very grateful.

Let me ask you, how is your gratefulness going.  As we look around us and begin counting our BLESSINGS, more BLESSINGS flow.

I encourage you to take just a few minutes and count your blessings!

I'm also BLESSED having you meandering down this road of life with us.  We so APPRECIATE your faithful prayer, love and support!!

RIDING OUT THE STORM....

Last night, a wicked line of storms blew through our valley.  Fortunately, there was no damage, only 40-50 mph winds.  We never lost power.  For that, we are THANKFUL!

Today, that strong line of storms is heading to the East Coast.

WILDFIRES & HIGH WINDS & TORNADOES!

Much of the south is facing a WICKED combination of wildfires, high winds, tornadoes, low humidity and a lot of "fuel" caused by dry brush.

Literally millions are in path of these terrible storms.  The best thing to do is PREPARE!!

We, at Air Mobile, are checking our EMERGENCY RADIOS, have plenty of water (we of course have our Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers), batteries, medicines, generators and the list goes on.  

We too are in the path of these extremely dangerous storms.  Suffice it to say, we're keeping a very close eye on these potentially catastrophic weather events.

These folks in Western Carolina are still far from recovering from Hurricane Helene.  They are still very much in our PRAYERS!

WATCHING & PRAYING FOR THOSE IN THE PATH OF WILD FIRES IN NC /SC!

Extreme dry conditions and high winds have SPARKED WILD FIRES in North & South  Carolina.

CAROLINAS FIRE UPDATES - EMERGENCY DECLARED IN NORTH & SOUTH CAROLINA AS WILD FIRES FORCE EVACUATIONS

We're keeping a very close eye on these developments.  We're PRAYING for the FIRE FIGHTERS as they fight these blazes & those in the path.  We PRAY for safe evacuations.

So far, no deaths or injuries have been reported.  Again, WE PRAY!!

Recently, we have seen how RAPIDLY these Wild Fires can spread.  Remember Hawaii & California?

Meanwhile, we're preparing and getting ready to DEPLOY  if circumstances require.

BTW, tomorrow, tornadoes are in the forecast for our region.  Time to "batten down the hatches".

A LOVELY DAY IN KNOXVILLE....

Yesterday was just spectacular.  Cindy and I drove to Knoxville for a "Day Date" and what a sweet day it was.

We began the day with a brunch at the Ruby Sunshine.  Has a nice New Orleans flair.

Then we took a stroll down the Tennessee River Walk and found this lovely mural along the way.

Knoxville has a wonderful EAST TENNESSEE Museum.  

It is very well done and....we'll be back to explore the rich history of East TN when we have more time.

After a delicious dinner, we headed to the Theatre Knoxville Downtown for the classic Oscar Wilde Comedy, "The Importance of Being Earnest".

It was very funny & well done. And a very nice way to end a beautiful day in Knoxville.

 Then....we headed back to our sweet "Retreat Cabin" arriving around midnight.

Sometimes, it's just nice to have a little "Get-Away".

A LITTLE GET-AWAY...

Cindy and I will be heading to Knoxville today to explore this lovely city and take advantage of the nice weather.

Nothing special going on today....just a little GET-AWAY.

Meanwhile, we continue to PRAY for PEACE in Ukraine.  The talks have gotten off to a "bumpy" start.  

Again, we ask our Lord to have His way and bring the parties back together.  It's time to end this bloody war!  That's all I have to say about that.

So, it's off to Knoxville and a peaceful day in a beautiful city.

WE PRAY FOR PEACE!

We join together for our Lord to bring PEACE to this old world.  

We THANK GOD that moves are being made for PEACE between Ukraine & Russia.

Today, Presidents Trump & Zelenskyy will be meeting in Washington to sign an agreement for the Rare Earth Minerals.  WE PRAY for SUCCESS!

Likewise, we PRAY for the fragile CEASE FIRE in the Middle East to hold and for the remaining Hostages, living & dead,  to be freed.

We PRAY that the on-going horror and violence in Haiti will end.  What is happening there, is just breaking my heart.  

Many of my friends in Haiti are suffering from the murders, hunger, disease and on and on.  

Folks, there sure is a lot of stuff going on.  Remember, our most powerful weapon is PRAYER!!

Again, let us join together in PRAYER for PEACE!!

A CALL IN THE NIGHT...

Last night, I received a call from Haiti.  It was from a good friend and Haiti Government Official.  

I will not disclose his name for security reasons.  But I can tell you, he is a good guy and very capable.

After the call, I found this story that just broke.  Here it is:  HAITI GANGS LAUNCH DEADLY ATTACK ON CAPITAL'S DELMAS NEIGHBORHOOD

Folks, I know the Delmas area very well.  The tragedy and suffering that is literally taking place in our own "backyard" is breaking my heart. Millions are suffering from these horrifying attacks.

At any rate, my friend who called has asked me for help and above all for PRAYER!!

PLEASE remember to PRAY FOR THE INNOCENT VICTIMS OF THIS HAITI TRAGEDY!!

KEEPING AN EYE ON THE CARIBBEAN....

There has been a swarm of seismic activity taking place between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico following the 5.9 Earthquake that struck just north of Punta Cana yesterday.

We're keeping a very close eye on the region and we're accelerating our building up of Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers in the event of another massive quake.

There are major tectonic plates in this region and we want to be ready to GO if a major quake hits. 

Of course, I remember all to well the January 12, 2010 that struck Haiti and killed upwards of 250,000 people.  When I think of that terrible earthquake, I can't help but still cry remembering those horrible scenes and suffering.

ALL THE MORE REASON....

At 1:48 AM a 5.9 EARTHQUAKE struck the Dominican Republic just north of Punta Cana.

That emphasizes again why we need to be READY.

Often times, we are given little or no warning before a DISASTER strikes.  

Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities or damage.  However, we're awaiting a current report.

I can't help but remember the 7.0 Quake that struck Haiti and killed hundreds of thousands on January 12, 2012.  May we never forget.

PREPARE....

It is important to be READY to GO when the call comes.  We can see how rapidly things can change.  Disasters will surely come.

I'm reminded of the 10 Virgins found in Matthew 25:1-13.  

5 were prepared and 5 were not.  The wise virgins had plenty of oil.  The 5 foolish virgins ran out of oil.

We're getting ready & prepared for that which lies ahead.  Surely, it is not a matter of IF, but WHEN!  

We also know that over 2 billion around the world are lacking access to CLEAN WATER!  Our "Mission" is clear.  All the more reason we are PREPARING to GO!!

Having you with us is such a BLESSING!  We so appreciate your vital prayer, love and support!  THANK YOU AGAIN!!

I am so grateful to our Lord Jesus for giving us this amazing tool to take very dirty water and make it very clean.  THANK YOU JESUS!!

Jesus, our King, goes on to say....

"WHEN YOU'VE DONE IT UNTO THE LEAST OF THESE....YE HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME.."

Yesterday, I reached out to the Baptist Mid Missions (BMM) office in Ohio.  I shared how the 16 Air Mobile Rescuers that are being sent to Cambodia, are opening the DOORS to PREACH the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST.

 

I also sent a link to BMM of some local & international news casts telling about the work of Air Mobile.

SLIP & SLIDE

Well, it's time to go over the mountain to our very own Dollar General (DG) and buy some supplies.  It's been well below freezing (got down to 8 degrees last night) for the last few days.  

This can certainly cause black ice below.  I'll just drive very slowly & avoid slipping and sliding. 

We've also kept all of our faucets set to a very slow drip.  We've changed out our plumbing to PEX which is not suppose to burst from freezing.  So far, so good.

Now, here we are "Between Missions".  We're getting ready for our next deployment...wherever that may be.  We will GO! 

So, I say...HERE I AM LORD...SEND ME!

BRRRR!

It's just plain COLD up here...somewhere around 18 degrees. We're staying warm, thanks to our wonderful wood stove.

HOME....AT LAST!

Yesterday, I flew from Providence RI to Washington DC with American Airlines.  Had to shuffle around a bit due to a few delays to make it into Knoxville.

I drove up to our sweet Retreat Cabin around midnight.  Literally, within minutes of my arrival, the snow began to fall.

I'm reminded of those around the world who are lacking CLEAN WATER!

Today, Cindy, Yahn and I will be on a tele-conference call with YELP.  We are exploring ways to tap into the vast YELP network and find new and creative ways to get the message out that Air Mobile can provide CLEAN WATER to those in need.

Well, it's time to get ready for that call.  We are asking our Lord to show us the best way to go.  ASK & YOU SHALL RECEIVE!

DELTA AIRLINES CRJ900 CRASHES IN TORONTO...ALL SURVIVE!

It appears that a 40+mph crosswind may caused a Delta CRJ900 TO CRASH in TORONTO.  

MIRACULOUSLY...ALL SURVIVE / 19 INJURED.  WE PRAY!!

BRAVO TO THE FIRST RESPONDERS who with great courage & skill, were able to get all on-board out safely with minor injuries!

After a successful "Mission" here in Massachusetts, I'll be catching an American Airlines (AA) flight back home to Knoxville via Washington DC.  

I was able to spend some wonderful time with my good friends, Dennis & Barbara West. Dennis is making good progress in his PT.

I'm still amazed that all survived the Delta Airlines Crash!  BTW, I will be boarding an AA CRJ900 in Providence RI on my first leg to DC then to Knoxville. We PRAY for a safe journey.

At home, Cindy has been dealing with a damaged roof from Winter Storm "Jett"....which also contributed to the Toronto Crash.  Again, we PRAY for the injured & survivors.

SPENDING TIME WITH MY DEAR FRIEND....

My friend, Dennis West, is one of the most extraordinary people I've ever known.

Dennis has joined me on multiple "missions", sometimes, getting up in the middle of the night and making critical flights.  Dennis has always been there when I needed him.

Dennis has many amazing accomplishments in his life, including being U.S. Arm Golden Knight (the most elite parachute team).

I've traveled with Dennis into some very dangerous and desperate regions around the globe.  Dennis' skill and courage has always strengthened our "mission" and helped us to accomplish our goal of...bringing clean water to the thirsty and sharing the Love of Jesus.

Recently, Dennis stepped on some ice and went down hard.  He cracked the ball in his hip and hit his head quite hard.

I am so glad to have made it to Massachusetts and not only speaking in The Mill Church, but have been able to spend some great time with my dear friends Dennis & Barbara.

He is making good PT (Physical Therapy) progress.  I would expect nothing less.  Dennis is one tough "Hombre".

I spoke with Cindy last night and the bottom end of Winter Storm Jett damaged our roof with very high winds, and caused multiple leaks.  We're calling on our friends to help get tarps up to stop the leaks and gather the roofing parts to properly repair the damage.

I'll be boarding an AA flight back to Knoxville via Washington DC tomorrow afternoon.

PLEASE PRAY for Dennis in his recovery and for Barbara as she carries the heavy load of caring for her beloved Dennis.  Also, please PRAY for Cindy as she deals with the storm damage.

I know that I say this to you every single day & mean it with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

AFTER NUMEROUS FLIGHT DELAYS....I ARRIVED AT THE MILL CHURCH IN TIME...TO DELIVER A MESSAGE

Yesterday morning, I drove to Knoxville and caught a AA Flight to Philly and then to Providence RI.  

There were a number of flight delays but....I managed to pull into The Mill Church parking lot at 6:42pm for a 7:00pm service.  

So glad to see my great friend, Pastor Eddie!  I love this sweet Church!

After delivering my message, "CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE JESUS KIND", I braved the heavy snow fall from Winter Storm "Jett" and slowly followed Pastor Eddy right to the home of Dennis and Barbara West.

Dennis recently slipped on ice and is in rehab.  This was another reason to come to cold & icey & slippery & snowy Massachusetts.

I wanted to see my good friend, Dennis.  Barbara and I will be going to the Rehab...if the road permits.

I must tell you, the road between Providence RI and Millbury, MA (45 miles), was just plain treacherous to this Louisiana Boy.  I  drove very slowly and my palms got very sweaty.  But...with our Lord's help, I made it in time to speak to the Church.  God is good....all the time!

So, it's time to try to get the Rehab and see my dear friend, Dennis.

INTO THE JAWS OF WINTER STORM "JETT".....

This morning, I'm up and getting ready to drive to Knoxville.  There, I'll board a flight for Providence RI via Washington DC.

I was scheduled to speak at the Mill Church on Sunday morning, but...another wicked winter storm is heading to Massachusetts Sunday.  So, Pastor Eddy is moving the Sunday Service to Saturday Evening service.

Meanwhile, back here at our sweet "Retreat Cabin", I'm preparing to fly to Massachusetts tomorrow to speak in one of my all-time favorite Church's, The Mill in Millbury near Worcester, MA.

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS....OF THE JESUS KIND!

As of late, I've been pressing in closer and closer to Jesus.  The wonderful thing is...as I press into Jesus, Jesus presses into me.

The best way I can describe this amazing relationship is...CLOSE ENCOUTNERS OF THE JESUS KIND!!

Now, I've been walking with Jesus for over 50 years and I must tell you...I've never been closer to Him. 

 I don't know where you stand with Jesus, but may I encourage you to PRESS INTO HIM!  The truth is, the more you press into Him, the more He presses into you. 

I pray you are BLESSED today!  His LOVE for you is unlimited and no matter what you may be facing, HE is there with you and will never leave you, nor forsake you!!

I am BLESSED to have you walking through this life with me.  THANK YOU again, for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

COLD & RAINY.....A POWERFUL REPORT ON THE AIR MOBILE RESCUER

Cindy and I certainly enjoyed the few days of warmth.  Now, the cold and rainy has returned.  Time to fire up the old wood stove and spread the warmth in our sweet "Retreat Cabin".

Our good friend, Jason, AKA "The Angry Prepper" did a full study and test of the Air Mobile Rescuer.  Here is what he found...

RAPID BLOW....

The recent 7.6 Earthquake in the Caribbean demonstrates how quickly things can happen.  THANK GOD there was NO serious damage, injuries or deaths in the affected region.

This is all the more reason that we at Air Mobile are PREPARING for disasters which lie ahead.  Also, there are on-going disasters happening every day due to war, poverty and corruption, etc. etc..

The simple truth is...people need CLEAN WATER!  Now, in-between "Missions", we're building 10 Air Mobile Rescuers and having them ready for RAPID DEPLOYMENT.

Yesterday, a powerful earthquake struck near the Cayman Islands & Honduras, sparking a Tsunami Alert (that has now been lifted).

This earthquake further demonstrates our need to be READY! Catastrophes can strike in a moment, as we well know.  It's a good opportunity to review and analyze our READINESS to GO!

The Tsunami Warning has been lifted, THANK GOD!

So, on this lovely Sunday morning Cindy and I are preparing for Church.  

This evening, we like MILLIONS of others, will watch the SUPER BOWL!  May the best team win!  I think it's going to be a very close game.

PLANNING & PREPARING!!

One of the most important things for Air Mobile is "To Be Ready" when the call comes.

I am pleased to say that the medical issues I've been dealing with are for the most part, all taken care of.  THANK YOU for your PRAYERS!

Next, Yahn is building Air Mobile Rescuers and getting them READY for deployment.

Of course, the need for FUNDING is ever-present and our goal is to have a number of units(10)  FUNDED and ready to GO!  Each unit cost $2,000.00.

So, on this beautiful Saturday morning, we're tending to the ever-present chores that go with our sweet little farm and "Retreat Cabin".

We're so THANKFUL for this wonderful place of rest and regaining strength and just being READY TO GO!

"RESCUERS" SAVING LIVES & OPENING DOORS

We are so pleased to have delivered another 8 Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers being deployed in Cambodia.  That makes a total 16 Rescuers in Cambodia.

Yesterday, I was speaking with Pastor Todd Peoples of Twin City Baptist Church in Tazewell, TN.  That great Church has funded all 16 of the Rescuers.

Pastor Todd went on to tell me how our Lord is using those "Rescuers" in Cambodia, to not only bring CLEAN WATER where desperately needed, but they are OPENING DOORS to PREACH THE GOSPEL and share the PRECIOUS LOVE OF OUR LORD JESUS to the THIRSTY!

Missionary Len Crow has been leading this wonderful project.  Len is an extraordinary Missionary.  

In this shot, I was training Pastor Todd and Len on the simple operation of the Rescuer.

HOWLING WINDS.....& A TORNADO WARNING!

Brutal Winter Storms are passing just north of us here.  They contain snow, ice and possible tornadoes.

Looks like we're "squeezed" between the high and the low.  We're right on the edge.

We're battening down the hatches and getting ready for that which lies ahead.

Just a few minutes ago, we had a Tornado Warning.  It just expired, but...we're keeping a close eye out and our basement open to run into if need be.

Today, Cindy and I have to drive to Bristol TN to send Sam, from India, some funds for the feeding program at their orphanage.  

We love Sam and his family and what they do to save lives and bring Jesus to save the lost!

It's time to hit the road and head to Bristol.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

AND ANOTHER THING....

I just wanted to add a little bit to what I wrote yesterday (read on down to see what I wrote).

If you're curious to know the things that I dreaded doing, here they are.  First, doing my taxes and next, doing complicated receipting.

Now, that Jesus has helped me so much with a good and positive attitude, I'm on top of my taxes and nearly caught up on receipting my donations.

I wish I would have brought these difficult things to Jesus before...but better late than never.  It's a new day.

So...if you're "tormented" by certain things (as I was), I urge you to "cast that care(s) upon Jesus because He cares for you"! 

Further more, ask Him to give you a LOVE for those things that you're dreading. It may take a little while,  keep on casting.  He will answer your prayer.

So, it all goes back to Matthew 7:7...ASK & YOU SHALL RECEIVE!

It's time to get on with the chores and I'll be working in my office...doing those things that I love!

MAKING PROGRESS....& SHARING A JEWEL

Let me ask you a question.  Do you have certain things that you need to do but...you just dread doing it and you keep putting it off for a long time?

If you do, and I suspect you might also have a thing or two on your "To Do List", here's a Scripture that I embrace to just PRESS ON and just DO IT.

Now, I have shared this Scripture with you before, when dealing with something that is lost.  But today we'll look at it, to help us to do things that we need to do and just can't seem to "GIT UR DONE"!

It is found in Matthew 7:7 and the first part of the Scripture is "ASK & YOU SHALL RECEIVE..."

Recently, I have been focusing ON...  ASKING JESUS TO GIVE ME A LOVE FOR THAT THING(S) THAT I DREAD DOING!

I am so pleased to say that our Lord Jesus  is answering my PRAYER and I'm just plowing through and getting those difficult things done!

If you have a problem list, like me, than ASK JESUS TO GIVE YOU A LOVE for that thing and JUST DO IT!

Just thought I'd share this jewel with you.  And...as I say every single day, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

JUST THANKFUL FOR THE WARMTH- AND BUYING SOME HAY

I know it's still winter and the cold is not over, however...we do appreciate the warm weather that we have now.  Going to touch 70 degrees today.

It's a good time to go and drag the muddy drive and make it passable.

Time to fire up the old Massey Ferguson tractor and spread the mud around.

On Saturday, Cindy and I found and bought a nice load of hay.  Here's how it went...

At the same time, our hearts are broken by the DC crash (67 fatalities) and the MEDEVAC Crash at Philly (7 dead and 19 injured).

We PRAY for all who have been impacted by these terrible tragedies.

A MUDDY MESS....

UPDATE ON MEDEVAC CRASH IN PHILIDELPHIA!

Our hearts go out to Medical Flight that ended in tragedy in Philadelphia.  I know something about that Lear 55 and it's flight crew.

Here's a note from my good friend Stacy Librande, the founder of HERO Ambulance Service in Haiti.

These folks are still flying into Haiti and RESCUING people.  Their flight crews are professional and well trained.  PLEASE PRAY for all who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy.

I'm reminded of wonderful words from Solomon...TRUST IN THE LORD... Proverbs 3:5-6.

I'm leaning on our Lord Jesus to direct our path.

While scanning our lovely valley, our Donkey had a little something to say.

TRAGEDY ON THE POTOMAC!  

Yesterday evening, just before 9:00 PM a U.S. Military Blackhawk helicopter and an American Airlines CRJ collided over the Potomac.

There were no survivors. 67 people perished.  What a terrible tragedy.

PLEASE PRAY FOR FAMILIES & THOSE CONNECTED TO THE VICTIMS.

SANITY RETURNING....

Good, old fashioned COMMEN SENSE seems to be returning to our GREAT NATION!  PRAISE GOD!!

You know, as Pilot-in-Command, and having made nearly 3000 international flights (doing Humanitarian Relief), I have cleared Customs and Immigration literally THOUSANDS of times.

The very security of our great nation depends upon a strong and secure border and I am THRILLED to see control of our border returning.

The dramatic decrease of illegal migrant crossings has dramatically DECREASED in this last week alone.

May I again, encourage you to PRAY for our LEADERS!

Remember, PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!!

APPRECIATING THE WARMTH....

Truly enjoying this sweet warm spell here at our beloved "Retreat Cabin".

The peace and joy that our Lord has given us is simply overwhelming.

Somehow, I sense that this is the "Calm before the Storm".  I realize that it is not a matter of IF, but it is a matter of WHEN the next storm or other disaster hits.  We're getting ready!! 

BTW, I mentioned the problem with PFAS yesterday (just scroll down for more details on PFAS).  

Because our Air Mobile Rescuer utilizes Carbon, Ceramic, Ultra-Violet and Ozone, all of which renders PFAS harmless..it's one more reason to secure a "Rescuer" for your family or the next disaster.

Well, it's time to get on with the ever-present chores here at our Retreat Cabin.  So glad for the warmth and appreciative for your precious prayer, love and support.

SEARCHING FOR A BREAK-THROUGH

Recently, we became aware of another water-born problem named PFAS.

Here's more on PFAS - Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of synthetic chemicals that are resistant to heat, water, and oil. They are also known as "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

 Our testing is in the early stages, but our initial findings are encouraging. It appears that our Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifier does good things to this dangerous chemical.  We'll keep you advised.

We're enjoying the mild temperatures.  So nice seeing things thaw.

Good news on 8 more "Rescuers" going to Cambodia.  So glad we can bring CLEAN WATER where needed!

FINALLY.....TEMPS RISING TO MID 40'S

Looks like this coming week, the high temps will be in the mid to upper 40's.  PRAISE GOD!  Things will be able to thaw out a bit.

So THANKFUL that all of our plumbing made it through these bitter cold snaps.

The old wood-stove kept our "Retreat Cabin" toasty warm through the bitter cold.

BTW, we had plenty of lovely snow along with these deep cold snaps.  Folks, I'm ready to welcome in Spring soon enough.

4 DEGREES....BRRR

Awoke this morning to 4 Degrees.  Yes, I'm eagerly awaiting Spring.  

But for now, it's a matter of taking care of our critters and protecting our plumbing and just staying warm.  Even our duck pond is gradually freezing.

So, for now, it's a good time to stay indoors and keeping the old wood-stove stoked with fire wood and burning beautifully.

BITTER COLD...BRRR!

Winter Storm Enzo is blowing through our neck of the woods, and the best thing we can do is stay hunkered down and stay warm.

We're extremely THANKFUL that the Presidential Inauguration went smoothly!  PRAISE GOD!!

We're taking good care of all of our "critters" (horses, donkeys, ducks, dogs & cats) and keeping their water troughs from freezing.

INAUGURATION DAY IS HERE!!!

Cindy and I are so pleased and thankful and blessed to arrive at this day, the day that Donald Trump becomes the 47th President of the United States of America!      

WHAT A COMEBACK!! PRAISE GOD!!

In this bitter cold snap, Cindy and I will just stay home, and stay warm and simply CELEBRATE this day.

Yesterday evening, we "slipped" out of our sweet "Retreat Cabin" and drove to Pigeon Forge where we met with Josh and Katie Linder and Josh's parents Stan and Margo Linder.

These are dear friends who we met at Redeemer Presbyterian Church.  We love these guys and went and had a lovely dinner at 5 OAKS FARM.

Then Cindy and I "slipped" back to our "Retreat Cabin".  It was a tense drive home.  We THANK our Lord Jesus for protecting us from an icy mishap.

So, on this very chilly day, again, we CELEBRATE Inauguration of Donald Trump.

More Snow & Ice.  Frankly, I'm glad that the Inauguration will be held inside. Perhaps, it is also better for Security!

There is one more day before President Elect Trump will become PRESIDENT TRUMP!  WE PRAY that all goes well.

Meanwhile, here at the "Retreat Cabin", the snow has begun to fall and the Temp is plummeting.

Here is a special PRAYER REQUEST.  It is for our Pastor's son Noah, who will have his foot amputated on Monday following a terrible football accident.  PLEASE REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR NOAH!

BITTER COLD COMING....

The Weather Forecast calls for very cold temps coming tomorrow & Monday...down to under 10 degrees.

The Inauguration has been moved inside the Capital Rotunda due to the extreme cold (near zero).  But...could it be for increased SAFETY to protect President Trump?

According to Rasmussen,  SAFETY is the main issue.  We don't know, but we do know Who does!  

Again, let us PRAY for PROTECTION for President Trump!

SLIP & SLIDE...

Cindy and I pulled up to our sweet "Retreat Cabin" last night.  Good to be home but....I've about had enough snow...& ice for a while.

The temp has been rising just above freezing in the day...then there's a little melt and then a hard freeze at night and more ice.  Pretty treacherous stuff.

Again, I'm so thankful for the pure simplicity and an abundance of firewood from fallen trees for our wonderful old woodstove on our little farm.  GOD IS GOOD!!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN....

Cindy and I hit the road again from Cocoa Beach headed to our TN "Retreat Cabin".

There are still a number of detours along the way (near I-40 by Asheville).  The detours (caused by Hurricane Helene) will add a few hours to this long drive.

Also, as we get further north, the temperature is steadily dropping.  By the time we get home, the temp will be well below freezing.  We'll just fire up the old wood stove.

We found a room about half way, in Orangeburg, SC. Today, we'll keep pressing on to our home.

THANK YOU ALL...

I am so THANKFUL for all of the Birthday Well-wishes! THANK YOU AGAIN!!

Yesterday, I boarded an Allegiant A-320 bound for Orlando.  Had a quick hour & 10 minute flight.

There I was met by my good friend & NASA engineer, Alfred Menendez.

Alfred then drove me straight to the NASA Badging station at Kennedy Space Center where I picked up my NASA Badge, that is good for another year.

Cindy then picked me up and it was off to meet with my good friend, Stephen Applegate.  

Was able to give Stephen some good training on the Air Mobile Rescuer.  Stephan is doing Amazing things with the Rescuer!!!

Then, it was off to Grill's in Rockledge to meet with some of my many kids.

I am BLESSED beyond measure for my precious family!

This morning, Cindy and I will take that long drive (12+ hour) back to our sweet "Retreat Cabin".

74 YEARS AGO....

I'm forever grateful to my dear mother, Evelyn Hurston, for bringing me into this world.  THANK YOU MOMMA!

I look forward to seeing you again in heaven.

I'm up early this morning to go catch an Allegiant flight to Florida.  Upon landing, I will meet my good friend, Alfred Menendez, a prominent NASA Engineer.  

Alfred will bring me to the NASA Badging Station "where I will pick up my renewed NASA Badge.

Then, I will meet Cindy for lunch and then, we'll hit the road for our beloved "Retreat Cabin".

We'll, it's time to hit the slippery road for Knoxville and catch that flight to Florida.

SLICK ICE...AKA "BLACK ICE"....BEWARE

 

After Winter Storm "Cora" blew through our valley and dumped several inches of snow I've had the wonderful experience of slipping and sliding. 

I can't even get my Ford Escape up to our cabin thanks to solid layer of ice.

I'll be happy when the temp rises a bit and melts the snow and ice and...we don't get another hard freeze.

At any rate, our critters have water (thanks to a tank heater) and plenty of hay.

Now Cindy and Ari are already in sunny Florida enjoying the warmth that Florida gives.

Tomorrow morning, if the flights are still on, I'll travel to Knoxville and catch an Allegiant flight to Florida.  I need to personally pick up my renewed NASA Badge.  There's more to that story...I'll tell more later.

Well, it's time to throw another log on the old wood stove and have another cup of coffee.

HERE'S WINTER STORM CORA....

The WX Forecasters nailed when and how Cora would come.  Right on schedule Cora is blowing through our valley packing high winds, and snow and ice and sleet.

Here's a peak at what Cora is bringing us...

Earlier, before sunrise, I captured our 3 dogs and their sweet spot in front of the old trusty wood-stove.  

LET THE COLD WINDS BLOW!

Meanwhile, across the U.S. to the  West Coast, we have the California Wild-Fires.  WE PRAY for all who have lost loved ones and lost literally everything and are still FIGHTING the WILD-FIRES.

And...still thousands in North Carolina are suffering from the cold and lack of funding.  Again, WE PRAY!

SNOW FALL....

More snow falling and critters are taken care of.  One of our horses, Sparrow, is moving quite slow this morning.

BRRRR....& TIME TO WRITE!

Dealing with a hard freeze involves keeping our critters (ducks, horses & donkeys) in food and water.

Having Ariana with us for a few more days has been exceptionally inspiring regarding writing.  While she has been with us, she's written another novel, her 6th.

Now, several years ago, I had begun writing Book 2, titled "Dances with Storms" or "Storm Dancer".  Not sure which will be the final title.

I have 13 chapters written, but not edited.  It's TIME for me to get on with this project.  I believe that our Lord would have me to complete this as there are numerous MIRACLES that need to be shared for the GLORY OF GOD

So, on this very chilly morning, I'll throw another log on fire, have another cup of coffee and get on with the editing of "Storm Dancer!

GRAZED....

Winter Storm "Blair" just GRAZED us here in East TN with a little snow and ice....nothing serious.  We're THANKFUL.

It's a quiet day here at our "Retreat Cabin".  Time to replenish our firewood...for the next Winter Storm.

The good thing about our trusty old wood-stove is, it does not need electricity to operate.  

Just throw another log on the wood-stove.  Keeps our cabin warm and gives us a very effective cooking stove.

HERE COMES WINTER STORM BLAIR....

Snow, Ice and Thunderstorms all wrapped up in Winter Storm Blair making it a SERIOUS THREAT!

Our "Retreat Cabin" is located just on the south side of "Blair".

We'll see just how close it will come to us.

Church was called off today due to "Blair".  We'll stay warm and wait this one out.

I was pleased to hear that they will be bringing 2 "Rescuers" with the team to bring CLEAN WATER where desperately needed.  PRAISE GOD!!

PROVERBS 3:5-6

One of my all-time favorite Scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6.

From time to time, I will read the Scripture found in Proverbs that correlates with the day of the month.

Proverbs has 31 Chapters, or one per day.  So, today, being January 3rd, I went to Proverbs 3 and enjoyed this wonderful verse.

I, like you, want my Lord to guide my steps.  Therein lies peace and joy and strength and wisdom.

May I encourage you to embrace Proverbs 3:5-6.  You may want to commit it to memory.  

I often put up a sticky note to remind me of this amazing Scripture.

So, on this lovely 3rd of January, I put my trust anew in my Lord and Savior and seek His direction for my life!  

We PRAY that 2025 be the best year ever!!

THE "REST" OF THE STORY....

"REST" has certainly been the key to "RECOVERY".  Folks, it feels good to feel good.

The dreadful effects of the flu have finally diminished and I can't THANK YOU enough for your faithful prayers!!

I'll slowly begin to take on the chores and do the things necessary to keep our sweet little farm working.
