BEAUTIFUL FLIGHT / ON-TIME DELIVERY (GOD'S TIME)
Our team met at Space Coast Regional Airport early yesterday morning. We loaded Ti Burik and prayed for a safe journey. Kennedy Space Center is right next to the airport. We eagerly awaited the launch of the SpaceX Rocket (bringing the first commercial load to the International Space Station). The rocket launch scrubbed. I fired up the engines of the Little Donkey. All systems GO!
We took Runway 36 and lifted into the cool morning air. There would be a little bit of weather enroute, but with the new navigation and now, XM Satellite Weather on-board, we'd be able to work around it.
We climbed to our cruising altitude of 15,000 and the rear engine performed beautifully. So glad we have that engine monitoring system. With just one glance, the pilot can gain 26 pieces of information about what is going "inside" of both engines. The #1 cylinder was rock solid. If you scroll down to yesterday's blog and see the same instrument on the right, the #1 Cylinder was not producing power. Again, Praise God for good instruments!!
As we climbed to our cruising altitude, we put on the O2 and settled down. As we approached some light rain, I suspected we'd pick up a little ice. I instructed my "crew" to be on the lookout. When the temperature and the moisture are just right, Ice WILL form. It did. It was light and I immediately requested a lower altitude. As we descended to 13,000 feet, the ice simply melted off. All was good. Soon, we were out of the light rain and the rest of the flight went without incident.
Upon landing, we unloaded our precious cargo. Our Little Donkey did good! Our cargo consisted of baby formula, medicine, diapers, Rescuer parts, printer components, mail and special food for our special missionaries, including potato chips for Barbara.
On the way back to "The Village", we stopped by Global Missions and delivered the printing press drum unit, back up printer and extra cartridges. This ministry prints excellent leadership books and their printer was down. So glad we could help getting them up and printing again!
Upon arrival at The Village, we were just in time for lunch. Mallory, Barb's faithful assistant had made delicious home-made chili and I brought in the hot dogs. We had a great lunch. Our new "Volunteers", Jodi and Melanie will be working very closely with Mallory over the next month. Oh yes, in addition to all of the vital and great supplies that we brought in, Ti Burik also carried in some faithful servants of the Lord! Now, that is a great load!!
I must mention one other thing that the Little Donkey carried in. A special one-cup Keurig coffee pot for Air Mobile Joe. This one will stay in Haiti and be available for this missionary that loves coffee. I love it even more since I posted that wonderful news release about "Coffee Drinkers Live Longer". Scroll down a couple of stories to read the report.
Well, the sun has risen. I've already had my second cup of coffee. What will this day have for us? I do know this, "This is the day that our Lord has made and we'll rejoice and be glad in it". Will also intersperse a lot of A.S.A.P. (Always-Say-A-Prayer). We'll see what happens. As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!! God Bless!!

BELIEVE YOUR INSTRUMENTS
Yesterday morning, I met a couple of "Recruits", Jodi and Melanie, at Space Center Exec Airport. They will be working with Barbara in the Village in Haiti. I knew Jodi's Grandfather, George Spee, for many years. George recently passed away. He was, without question, one of the best Missions Logisitics Coordinators I have ever worked with. It is such a joy to see young people following the Lord! I know that George, who is in Heaven, is rejoicing!
We did the final loading and prayed for a safe journey. We had been awaiting a storm system to pass and all looked good.
We rolled down Runway 18 for a smooth take-off. We were climbing out of 13,000 feet when I noted one of my many instruments indicated that one of my rear engine cylinders had gone "flat". The temperature indicated that it was not delivering power. THANK GOD for good instruments!
I immediately returned to our home base, without incident, and called our mechanic. Soon, we had found the problem and repaired it. Without those great instruments, we could have done some damage to that engine. We're so thankful for the wonderful way Ti Burik is equipped! The instrument on the right, that is reading 814 / 176 degrees, told us that the cylinder was not functioning properly.
So, today, we await final clearance for departure for Haiti. All throughout yesterday, our team kept quoting A.S.A.P. - "Always - Say - A - Prayer! Folks, we simply can't pray too much. Well, it's time to head to the airport. We'll see what this wonderful day has for us. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

SUPPLIES ARRIVE - ARIANA GRADUATES KINDERGARTEN
Steadily, our load nears completion for our next mission to Haiti. Peter and Ariana helped me get the load ready for Haiti. Our children have grown up helping others less fortunate. I'm glad that they've had the opportunity to do this.
All of our run-ups and test flights went very well with Ti Burik. It's good to have The Little Donkey all up to speed and ready for our next mission. We simply await the final approval to go.
Last night was very special in the life of our precious Ariana. Cindy and I took this little one into our home to care for her four years ago. She needed life-saving surgery. Once the miraculous series of operations were completed, we made the decision to adopt Ariana. She is a pure joy. Well, last night, Ariana graduated Kindergarten from Park Avenue Christian Academy. We are so proud of her.
Everyone who knows Ariana can't get over her joy and just pure love of life. We are so blessed to be part of her life and have her in our family. Our Lord does all things well! I often think about how we are adopted into our Father's Family!
We have a full day. Have volunteers meeting me at the airport bright and early. Well, it's time to enjoy that second cup of coffee. Wasn't that a great article about "Coffee-Drinkers"? If you missed it, simply scroll on down and read the report on the "mysterious" attributes of coffee. I believe you'll find it interesting. Time to run. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support.

COFFEE MAY ACTUALLY HELP US TO LIVE LONGER.....REALLY! - A LITTLE DONKEY GETTING READY
Alright, I had to share this story with you about coffee. It is about a very large and very long study on the effects of coffee (I wonder if the study was funded by "Juan Valdez"). The bottom line of the study is that, indeed, coffee drinkers may actually live a little longer than non-coffee drinkers. One thing is for sure, coffee sure helps my day go a little better. I truly enjoy my coffee. Well, here's the link: "STUDY: Coffee Drinkers Live Longer"!
As many of you who wander along this "rambling blog" with me know, I often refer to having my delicious cup of coffee. I have always been convinced that coffee is a "gift from God". Glad to see studies that "kind of verify that". Of course, it is good to drink coffee in moderation and simply enjoy it. Now, one final thing about coffee this morning: I have found coffee in the Bible. It is found in the book of "He-Brews". There, now you have my thoughts on coffee this morning.
On to news about our beloved Little Donkey, "Ti Burik". Paul and Joe, our great mechanics, got the starter assembly all re-installed and we'll be doing a run up and test flight today. Overall, we are so pleased with Ti Burik. She is a good little airplane and capable of carrying a good load a very long distance with good speed and safety. Again, I'm just so thankful that Bill Duncklee felt led by God to donate Ti Burik to Air Mobile several years ago.
Speaking of Bill, he and Richard (the donor of the Velocity Aircraft) were working diligently on getting that beautiful aircraft up and flight worthy yesterday. They are making good progress. We haven't come up with a name for that bird yet, but we will.
If you're a coffee drinker, I hope you enjoy that cup this morning just a little more, knowing that it may actually help you live a bit longer. May you have a blessed day and....as always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support! God bless!!

GIFTS FROM UNITED LAUNCH ALLIANCE - TI BURIK GETTING READY
I received a call from an Aerospace Manager representing United Launch Alliance (ULA) yesterday. He had some medical supplies including crutches and devices for broken bones. I told him to come right on over and he did. I love it when our load for Haiti seems to come together in our Lord's perfect timing.
Our mechanics got that overhauled starter drive assembly all back together. We'll likely run up the engines and perhaps even do a test flight today. Our Little Donkey will soon be headed back to Haiti if all goes well.
I've been pondering our need for prayer, as I shared in yesterday's rambling blog. Folks, things are getting crazier and crazier in this world and I believe there is no better time to increase our prayer life than now. As our hearts are turned to the Lord, we then can hear Him better. This is so important as we navigate through this life in this hour. May this reminder help us....A.S.A.P. (Always - Say - A - Prayer).
Time to head to the airport and see what our Lord has for us today. We so appreciate your prayer, love and support. May our Lord bless you richly today!

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR JULIET! SURGERY WENT WELL....SOME THOUGHTS ON PRAYER
Juliet is home and recovering nicely. The surgery went very well. You know, PRAYER is powerful. We certainly felt your prayers for Juliet! The truth is, we should pray about everything. I remember years ago coming across this truth, "If we really knew what happens when we prayed.....we'd pray more"!
So often in life, things come at us fast and they're often complicated. It's easy to simply forget to pray. May this little encouragement today be a reminder to you and ME to remember to pray often and about everything. I am reminded of a simple and wonderful scripture penned by Paul in I Thes. 5:17. It says, "Pray without ceasing". So simple & so powerful. PRAYER changes things!
While pondering these thoughts this morning, thought I'd google in a cool image on prayer and came across this - A.S.A.P.
There you go, some thoughts on PRAYER. We did receive our rebuilt starter drive assembly for Ti Burik yesterday. Paul and Joe, our great mechanics, are putting it back together and should finish installing it today. Meanwhile, we continue to prepare our next shipment for Haiti. The rains are falling and disease is spreading and we have parts to keep clean water flowing.
Yesterday evening, Glen, my Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), did a superb job of teaching me on Airspace. In observing his methods of teaching, I'm learning the techniques and PTS (Practical Test Standards) that is expected of me to become a CFI. This is good stuff and yes, it is definitely helping me to become a better pilot and hopefully and prayerfully, a good CFI!
Well, it's that time. Will drop the kids at school and head to the hangar to see about getting our precious "Little Donkey" back in the air and on the path to Haiti. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!! God Bless and remember....A.S.A.P (Always Say A Prayer)!!

JULIET HAVING ORAL SURGERY TODAY, PLEASE PRAY FOR HER - TI BURIK GETTING THE STARTER ASSEMBLY BACK
This morning, Juliet will be having her wisdom teeth pulled, please remember her in your prayers. Thanks!
I'm awaiting the over-night delivery of the starter drive assembly for Ti Burik. As soon as it arrives, I'll dash to the airport and we'll begin the re-install. Meanwhile, supplies for our next Haiti mission continue to arrive.
In Haiti, the rainy season has already begun and cholera cases are rising. We'll be bringing in supplies and components to help keep the 322 Rescuers that are currently in operation in Haiti. We're so thankful to be able to do this and keep clean water flowing. This is the best single defense against cholera and other water-borne diseases.
Again, thanks for praying for Juliet today. Time to head out the door to bring the kids to school and head to the airport. God bless and as always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
THANK GOD FOR MOTHER'S!! May you blessed, this day, that we honor you! Our Lord did a beautiful thing when He created mothers and motherhood. He has blessed me with my Cindy, who is an amazing wife and an incredible mother!
We had a beautiful event at our home yesterday. Juliet, our daughter, put this whole day together to bring more awareness to the world's need for clean water. Our home was filled with lovely ladies, beautiful fashions, tasty teas and snacks, dear friends and a lot of warmth and love. A nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
My good friend and great photographer, Walter Keily asked me to give a brief description of the day. Here you go: Air Mobile Joe describing "The Tea Party"
In addition to the Tea Party / Fashion Show, I was able to demonstrate the wonderful Air Mobile Rescuer. In this shot, I am joined by Richard and Debbie. At the end of the day, Richard and Debbie completed the donation of their beautiful Velocity Aircraft by signing over the Bill of Sale. Wow, what a day!
Air Mobile will be able to deploy more rapidly to disaster areas to bring life-saving water. Praise God!!
Today, after church, our family will head to the hospital to bring the message of the love of God to a group of young people who are "locked up". We so enjoy this outreach. It is such a privilege to share Jesus.
We pray you have a blessed day and Mother's particularly! God bless and THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

A SWEET VELOCITY MOVES TOWARD BECOMING A "WATER MULE"
Yesterday, I shared a special prayer request with you regarding Air Mobile possibly receiving a Velocity aircraft as a donation. We moved closer toward that becoming a reality. Thank you for your prayer!
The addition of this wonderful aircraft will enable Air Mobile to accomplish more flight missions with speed, efficiency and reliability. We still have a few more things to accomplish before this wonderful donation becomes a reality, but we are moving in the right direction.
Oh, there something special about this aircraft. The original builder, who is one of the original designers of this aircraft, has put a 300 HP engine in it (standard engine size is between 160-200HP). That makes this aircraft extremely powerful and yet very efficient. This is a great modification and again, suits it very well for Air Mobile Missions.
Every now and then, we find some very good deals. I recently bought a roll-around tool box for our hangar. Our great mechanics have their own tools, but I have planned all along to build up a complete tool set to work on Ti Burik and now, possibly the Velocity. Yesterday, I took the morning to put this really cool tool box together. I was amazed at the quality and features and yet, we only paid $159.00 for it! Now Folks, tool boxes usually cost a lot more than that, but again, from time to time, we just find really good deals.
I am pleased that the "Drum" unit arrived for the Haitian Pastor who is a prolific writer. He'll now be able to print books again. We'll be heading back down to Haiti as soon as we get our starter drive assembly all put back together. The unit is currently up in Niagara Falls, NY getting all machined and matched up with the new starter drive spring.
Let me remind you about the wonderful event we'll be having at our home tomorrow afternoon. Our precious Juliet has put together this whole event. It is a Tea Party and Fashion Show. There will be great snacks, delicious tea and lovely fashions. The purpose is to raise awareness of the need for clean water world-wide. The event begins at 2:30pm tomorrow afternoon. Please call me for more details. My cell phone is: 321-544-7757.
Well, it's that time to head to the airport. Later this afternoon, I'll be continuing my flight training. My Instructor, Glen, is working hard to get me ready for the "Check Ride". As always, we truly THANK YOU for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!! God Bless!!

WATER MULE IN TRAINING REBUILDS TUG - A VELOCITY MAY BECOME A "WATER MULE"
I have often referred to our many volunteers and yesterday was an excellent example of such. Albert (AKA "Little Zappa") contacted me several months ago and offered to volunteer for Air Mobile. Yesterday, he showed up ready to work. The task: clean up / rebuild / rewire the little Tug that was recently donated to Air Mobile, by Captain Ed (Retired 747 Captain). Truly, "Our Lord knows how to deploy His troops and resources!!"
He just took on the job and never looked back. I got him some tools and pointed him in the right direction. He did a superb job. This "Little Tug" will be very handy, particularly on those early morning departures when I fly alone and have to drag a 4700+ pound "Little Donkey" out of the hangar. THANKS again, Albert!
Recently, I received an e-mail from "Richard Velocity". Richard has a beautiful aircraft called the Velocity. Our Lord has put it on he and his wife's heart to donate this beauty to a ministry. This aircraft is incredibly efficient and very fast. Every fiber of this bird is dedicated to lift and speed.
Richard and I met yesterday. I called my good friend, Bill Duncklee, and asked him for counsel, as he knows these kinds of aircraft very well. So, I met with Richard, along with Bill, who took this shot. We are at the point of praying about this situation and above all, we're asking our Lord to lead us in the matter. We only want His will!! Please join with us, that our Lord will direct this aircraft, to the exact location HE wants it to go! I can tell you, this aircraft could carry many Rescuers very far, very fast!
Had to send our starter assembly off to Niagara Falls yesterday to get it machined and a new starter spring installed. Our "Little Donkey" is down for a few days, but will soon be back on the "Path to Haiti". Will be at the airport today continuing on getting ready for our next mission.
As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support. Please pray, particularly for our Lord's direction regarding the Velocity aircraft. May you be extremely BLESSED today!!

Ladies, bring your daughters and friends as this event will be a great blessing. All proceeds will go toward bringing clean water to dying and thirsty folks. This is a noble mission and the event will be a lot of fun. Our daughter, Juliet, is the brains behind this great event. Feel free to give me a call for more details. My cell is: 321-544-7757. Joe

TAKE THE COURSE & LOSE THE POINTS....AIR MOBILE JOE WAS SPEEDING
A couple of weeks ago, I was "cruising" down a toll road in Orlando when I saw the infamous "flashing lights" behind me. Yes, I was speeding....but here was the deal. There was construction ahead and the speed limit went from 65 to 55 to 45 suddenly. I just did not decelerate quickly enough. So.....the State Trooper gave me a ticket. The Trooper actually showed a bit of grace by stating that I was not going quite a fast as I actually was going, thus the amount of the ticket was significantly less than it could have been. Whew, what a relief.
It's been quite a while since I've gotten a ticket (years). We all know, that we live in quite a bit of grace in this arena. If we got a ticket every time we sped or broke some law, we'd likely all be in jail. There is a way, however, to remove the "Points" off of ones record by taking a driving course. So, I quickly signed up and yesterday, after diligent study, I took the test (on-line) and passed with a 92.5%. Yes, I missed 3 (out of 40) questions....but they were rather tricky.
Even though the course was rather tedious and did take several hours, it was quite good. It caused me to really think about safety (and the lack thereof) and the consequences that we may face if we "cross certain lines". Between the Flight Training, that I am deeply involved in, and this recent course on Driving Safety, this "Old Dog" is definitely in training and yes, learning some new tricks.
At any rate, a copy of my ticket and the Driving Safety Course Certificate and the check is in the mail and soon, my driving record will not have any points on it. This is a sort of GRACE and I'm thankful for it.
In many ways, our relationship with the Lord Jesus is like this. Yes, HE came and died for our sins and if we confess HIM as our Savior, we will be saved. But....when we do sin, there is a time of repentance and reflection. Will we walk perfectly afterwards? Most likely not, but, as we study His Word, and as we see the true consequences of sin, our eyes will be more opened and hopefully, that sin (whatever it is) will lose its luster and we'll simply steer away from it. Just thought I'd share this lesson, that our Lord is graciously teaching me, with you.
Today, will be at the airport and we'll be continuing our quest to get our Little Donkey, Ti Burik back into the air. We're gathering our supplies for our next mission. Things are going pretty well in Haiti (for the moment). Barbara, AKA "Rambo in the Blue Dress", is back in Haiti and recovering nicely from her recent back surgery.
Time to head out the door. As always, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful prayer, support and love! God Bless!!

SOME "SOUTHWEST" WATER MULES & CLEVER DEVICES
Our dear friend, and great "Water Mule", Southwest Chuck threw a party to celebrate a great piece of carpentry that he recently finished. It was an honor to be invited. Many of these guys have helped Air Mobile in many ways, from donating their "Buddy Passes" to building neat devices to help us with our Little Donkey.
I had been telling you about recent work being done on our rear engine with the starter assembly. Well, Todd built an incredible "engine cradle" for our core engine. This has been so handy to move that engine around and either pull parts or inspect ways to remove components from Ti Burik. This has been such a valuable tool.
Just to explain a bit more; the rear engine compartment is quite tight on the Cessna 337. Seeing exactly how the starter assembly installs, helped our mechanics to know exactly how much to disassemble to gain access and remove the defective component.
The builder of this wonderful device, Todd, was at the party. It was good to not only thank him but show him shots taken yesterday of our using his clever device.
You know, I often say this, but it certainly bears repeating, "Our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"! We are so thankful for so many volunteers who help us to bring clean water to thirsty and dying people. It is such a joy to work together with so many fine folks! Southwest Airlines has been such a blessing to Air Mobile!
Speaking of volunteers, we needed a certain electrical component for our electrical system. Our mechanic, Paul, suggested I phone "Mr. Coffee" (I like that name). Mr. Coffee has been working on aircraft Avionics for over 50 years. He knew exactly what we needed and within the hour, "hand delivered" them to me. He would not charge me a single penny. These components are quite valuable, as they are rare. Again, I love it when our Lord sends good folks and extremely valuable parts our way!!
Well, it's that time.....need to head out the door, drop the kids at school and go on to the airport and......we'll see what our Lord does today. This is, after all, the day that our Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!! God Bless!!

A BEAUTIFUL "FIRST HOLY COMMUNION" - A SLIPPING STARTER ON THE LITTLE DONKEY
Had the wonderful privilege to attend the "First Holy Communion" for my God-Daughter, Isabelle. When John and Jennifer Torres asked me to be their daughter's God-Father, we did not know that we shared the same birth-date. It was just another confirmation. What a joy to present Isabelle with her first Bible.
From that joyous celebration, headed to the Hospital in Orlando to meet up with Cindy and the kids. We had another great service sharing the wonderful news of Jesus and His miraculous power with the young people in the facility. Ahhh, a nice way to spend a Sunday.
This morning, we'll be changing out a starter drive on our Little Donkey. During our inspection, we found the starter on the rear engine slipping a bit. Time to change it out. We're also awaiting supplies and equipment to arrive for Haiti.
My daughter, Juliet is at it again. This time, she has put together a Saturday Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show at our home (begins at 2:30pm this coming Saturday 5-12-12)). The purpose is to raise money and awareness for the need for clean water. If you'd like more details, give me a call at 321-544-7757. I'll share more about this event throughout the week. Hope you can make it.

"IF YOU HAVE TIME TO SPARE...GO BY AIR" (an old aviation adage) & YET ANOTHER BIRTHDAY & GATHERING SUPPLIES
Now, the aviation "old-timers" will recognize that saying. You see, when we fly little airplanes, we must be prepared to either delay our trip or find alternate transportation if....there is a maintenance issue. Such was the case yesterday with our flight training in our "trusty" little Piper Seminole (N212CK). In this shot, Glen, my Flight Instructor, is going through the Pilot Operators Handbook to search for answers.
While going through our checklist, we discovered that the electric fuel pump on the #2 engine was intermittent......enough for us to postpone our flight until the "mystery" is solved. A very good lesson in both flying and Flight Training. However, we did have a VERY GOOD ground school session. I was the "Instructor" and Glen, the real instructor, was the "Student". My Lesson Plan was on Emergency Situations, i.e. engine failure and ditching, 2 pretty serious situations. Folks, I love this training to be a Flight Instructor!
Enroute to the airport, I stopped by the Air Mobile Ministries Headquarters. Our building is beautifully suited for a church so....about a year ago, we rented the Sanctuary out to my good friend and brother in Christ, Eric Marshall. We are truly Prayer Partners from way back. He has a great congregation and we are so blessed that they have chosen to have their church home in our building.
Then, it was on the airport. Had some supplies to buy for another great Missionary in Haiti, David Heady. You may recall, last week, I wrote about searching for a "drum" unit for their mission printing press. Well, we found one for them and it is on order and yesterday, I went and bought another back-up printer for them. We're getting our load ready for the next mission to Haiti. Again, I can't begin to tell you what a joy it is to serve others who are serving so faithfully!
Here it is, Sunday morning. Cindy and the kids will be heading to our home Church and I will be going to celebrate the first Holy Communion for my God-Daughter, Isabelle. My favorite, all time Journalist, John Torres and his lovely wife, Jennifer, 7 years ago, asked me to be the God-Father for their beautiful daughter. This is such an honor and blessing.
Then, later this afternoon, I'll link up with Cindy and we'll go to the hospital where we are Chaplains. This is "Day that our Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it"! As always, we love you and appreciate you so much. Thank you, for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

IN TRAINING....
About to head out the door to continue my training for the Certified Flight Instructor rating(s). Interestingly, I received a call from one of my earlier instructors, Mark, who prepared me for the Instrument Written Test. Mark works for Gulfstream (the maker of large Corporate Jets). He had been thinking about the flight that we make to Haiti in Ti Burik and simply wanted to join us on a future mission. That would be most enjoyable. Mark would be invaluable in helping me to develop the Training Curriculum for the Haiti Flight. Again, I love it when our Lord puts things together.
I met another very interesting gentleman yesterday, Roger. Roger worked for a major network for 37 years and won 6 Emmies for his film / journalistic skills. Roger thinks it's time for Air Mobile to put together a good video on what we do. So do I. Please pray for us as we pursue this noble mission. It is so important for us to clearly capture and present the wonder of bringing clean water to thirsty and dying people.
I'm out of time this morning. Have an early flight schedule. As always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support!! God Bless!!

HAITI GETS A NEW PRIME MINISTER - TI BURIK PASSES A TEST & SAVES FUEL ($$$$!!)
I was most encouraged this morning to discover that the Haitian Parliament approved Laurent Lamothe as their new Prime Minister (62-3 vote). It is a small world. I know Laurent's mother (Gizou) quite well and actually rented a house from her many years ago. Laurent may have actually grown up in the same house. I pray that our Lord uses Laurent for His glory. He is a fine young man and has many remarkable accomplishments already.
We had a very good day yesterday with our Little Donkey, Ti Burik. During our run-up test, we discovered that our new digital fuel flow meters will actually save us fuel. This was an encouraging discovery, as it will reduce the cost of flying to Haiti. I love discoveries like that!
At the end of the day, headed home to our weekly Bible Study. Since our Lord so graciously provided our family with this beautiful, EXTREME, home, we regularly have meetings here. This has been such a blessing, not only to our family, but to many others. We're simply THANKFUL! By the way, the man in the center of the photo (to the left of Cindy) is our Pastor, Gary Ginn. Gary is a good friend and a great Pastor.
Well, it's that time of the day. The second cup of coffee is finished and time to head out to the airport and a host of meetings today. Pray you have a good and blessed day and....THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support!! God Bless!!

MARCHING AHEAD....FINDING THE RIGHT FOLKS!
Had the opportunity to meet another "water guy" yesterday. John had found out about the Air Mobile Rescuer and called me recently. We arranged to meet yesterday. John has studied ways to clean water for many years and is quite knowledgeable about the ways and challenges to do this. He marveled at the simplicity and power of the Rescuer. I love demonstrating the unit to folks who understand. I look forward to more meetings with John (see John's e-mail below).
Earlier, Paul and I had a wonderful "break-through" on our Little Donkey, "Ti Burik". We made a good call to Cessna and found a key bit of information that will allow us to move forward with a much needed improvement in our electronic protection system. We've been working on this for a while and yesterday was a "banner day" for us to move ahead and accomplish this much needed upgrade.
In the same way, yesterday, I gained additional knowledge in the process of manufacturing a critical component for the Rescuer. We had been researching the best way to "methodically" cool down the component once the mold process is complete. If the cooling is too rapid, then fractures can occur. I made contact with a person that is very knowledgeable about the process and he gave us just the information that we needed to make our parts extremely reliable and robust. Praise the Lord!
Well, yesterday was our Ariana's 7th birthday and Cindy had secured tickets to Disney at a very reasonable cost so.....they had a wonderful "Princess Encounter". Actually, Ariana got to meet a number of Princesses and had a birthday that she will likely never forget. Cindy, Juliet and Ariana had a "girls day out" to celebrate the birthday.
Peter and I, after he got out of school, had some "guy" time at Dogs R Us, our favorite hang-out.
It was just one of those days. We accomplished some very cool things and just had a good time doing it. Today, we will see what our Lord has for us. Time to head out the door to the airport and continue our good progress on Ti Burik. Truly appreciate your prayer, love and support. God bless!!

Hi Joe,
I throughly enjoyed meeting you and appreciate your time to speak with me and demonstrating your water purification device and discuss your life's work. I look forward to continuing the conversation and let's see where this leads.
After being in the water industry for over 20 years in several capacities, the last 8 years as a WQA Certified Water Specialist IV, I was excited to learn from a client about your product. Good water for people has been a passion of mine and will continue to be a major concern for the world. Your unit is a simple, powerful, reliable as well as affordable device that can provide a family or a community of 500 with water for fractions of a penny cost. I have been looking for something like this to help others and now I have found it. It is an answer to prayer you can wear on your back and save lives. God bless you in your continued efforts.
I wish there was a place in your organization for me. Please keep me informed on the progress of the organization and I am looking forward to making time to read your book, 'Run To The Roar'. Thank you again. I will pray for continued blessings and safe travels! What a joy!

ANOTHER DAY CLOSER..... & ANOTHER BIRTHDAY
There was anticipation, among some, that May 1st would bring a lot of global protests, particularly from the "Occupy" Movement. Thank God, we did not see a great deal of activity yesterday, though there was some sporadic protests in some large cities. There is much that could be said about the direction of things, but one thing is for sure....we are another day closer to the coming of Jesus!
It is for this reason, that we simply keep marching ahead and doing what we can do to help those less fortunate. Of course, bringing clean water to the thirsty is the most basic of help. Our Lord Jesus urges us bring food and water to the hungry and thirsty. This is such a clear and powerful way to share the love of God.
Cindy and I have been so blessed with our Lord's Extreme, Amazing Grace that we are even more compelled to go and bring the Good News of Jesus, and clean water, to a thirsty world. We count it such a joy to do this!
Today, in addition to working on our Little Donkey and gathering supplies for our next mission, we celebrate yet another birthday! Our precious little Ariana turns 7 years old today. Our Lord brought this wonderful little girl, from Haiti into our lives nearly 4 years ago. She was very ill and through our Lord's grace and the generosity of many, Ariana had 5 life-saving surgeries here in America. Then, Cindy and had the privilege to adopt Ariana into our family. She is pure joy!
Well, it's that time of day. Need to head to the airport and meet Paul, our mechanic. We hope to run up Ti Burik today. We're installing new digitial oil temperature probes to give us more accurate engine readings. This is a good thing, particularly when flying a small twin engine airplane over 800 miles of water. The more information about those engines, the better!
As always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support. God bless!!

BE OPTIMISTIC BUT......BE READY!
It was good to have a couple of experienced "Water Mules" working on Air Mobile Rescuers yesterday. Dennis West and Rob Wasel are no strangers to the remarkable water machine. Dennis has traveled the globe with me and Rob is one of our most experienced builders.
We are "gearing up" at the Air Mobile Headquarters in Merritt Island for the 2012 Hurricane Season (June 1 to November 30). Forecasters are predicting this to be a relatively mild season based upon "A warming tropical Pacific and a cooling tropical Atlantic".
Over the years and having made literally "thousands" of flights throughout the Caribbean, I personally have witnessed the "birth of Hurricanes". Believe me, when the conditions are right, things happen real fast! I have literally seen storms "blow up" right before my eyes.
So, back to the statement, "Hope (and PRAY) for the best but prepare for the worst". One never goes wrong being prepared. At this time, our inventory of Rescuer parts is at a minimum level (due to finances). Yesterday, Dennis and Rob were going through all of our parts and I've been presented a pretty substantial list of supplies to secure.
This is where I'd like you to join together with us in PRAYER! We need funds to secure these much needed (and sometime "Long-Lead") items. We want to be prepared for the days ahead. There are many factors that can cause major disasters, both natural and "man-made".
So, here we are, about to head out for another "Day that our Lord has made". Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Time for me to go feed our chickens and head to the airport. We were going to do some flow checks on Ti Burik, but we lacked one little bitty part (a bushing). So, it's been over-nighted and we'll likely do the "run-up" on Wednesday. Today, I'll be searching for more supplies and critical components and believing our Lord for the funds to purchase more Rescuer components!
As always, I truly thank you for your faithful love, prayer and support. I pray that you are extremely BLESSED today! God Bless!!

AN EASY DAY....
Ahhhhh, an easy day. Yesterday, we went to Church, and afterwards, invited our Worship Leader and his wife (Davidson & Katie) out to lunch and then went home. Cindy and I played Scrabble. I took an afternoon nap. It's good for the soul and spirit to have a day like this.
As you may know, Cindy and I are Chaplains at an Orlando Psychiatric Hospital for young people. We conduct a Service on Sunday afternoons. Recently, the Hospital has designated the last Sunday of each month, a special Family Day, and we do not conduct our Service on that day. I must tell you, though we greatly enjoy conducting that service, it is really nice having the afternoon free. It's sweet to "Rest in the Lord".
Now, today, it's "back in the saddle". Will be heading out to the airport and working with Paul on conducting some flow checks and verifications on our Little Donkey (Ti Burik). We'll be gathering supplies for our next mission to Haiti.
I also had been searching for a "Drum Unit" for a Haitian Pastor that is a prolific Leadership Writer. He prints his own books. The Drum Unit is very difficult to find but.....over the weekend, I found a source that refurbishes them. This is a great solution and by bringing this Unit to Haiti, he'll be able to keep his printing press running (Standard SD 360). I love it when a plan comes together.
Those of you who saw the Extreme Make-Over (of the Hurston Home), got to know all about our chickens and our Extreme Chicken Coop. Our chickens and the beautiful Coop remind us each day of God's Amazing Grace and Provision.
As always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support. May you have a blessed day!!

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND A BEAUTIFUL BAPTISM
Was up very early this morning to bring Pastor Lucas to the Orlando airport to fly back to Worcester, MA. What a weekend! If all goes as scheduled, Lucas will be speaking in his home Church (The Woo) this morning. Cindy and I are so thankful that he took us up on our request to come down and make our daughter, Juliet's, birthday and Baptism very special!
We had another birthday this weekend, my grand-daughter, Selah who turned 2 year old. We began yesterday with that added celebration. Folks, I can't begin to tell you the joy of being a grand-parent. My son Christian and Ann Marie have 3 beautiful children.
Lucas and I had also gone to the airport to get a good report from Paul and Joe who are diligently working our Ti Burik with routine maintenance and inspections. The Little Donkey is in great shape and we're getting it ready for the next mission.
Then came a remarkable Baptism. Our daughter Juliet had decided that it was time and she wanted to make a public profession of her faith in Jesus. So, we met at Cocoa Beach on a beautiful afternoon. We were joined by our Pastor (Gary) and his wife, Lori and other precious friends. We gathered and celebrated this great moment and decision. Peter led us in Praise.
Then, Lucas asked Juliet to tell us about her decision and commitment to Jesus. It was wonderful to hear Juliet describe her love for our Lord and her decision to follow Him with all her heart. Again, we are so thankful to Lucas for taking the time to come down to Florida to baptize Juliet!
We all watched them head out into the ocean. There, Juliet made her surrender and went down under the waves and to rise up with New Life!
It is so wonderful to see our Lord working in all of our lives. Our Juliet made a beautiful decision to fully dedicate her life to serving Jesus Who gave Himself for us.
Please forgive me for carrying on so about my children....sometimes, I'm just overwhelmed with our Lord's goodness and so thankful for His Amazing Grace!!
Well, it's Sunday morning in the Hurston Family. On the last Sunday of each month, we do not perform our Chaplain Service at the Hospital in Orlando. So, we're looking forward to a quiet and relaxing afternoon and evening. Ahhh, nice to have a little break. Wow, what a beautiful and blessed weekend we had. I'm so thankful to you, who stand so wonderfully with us! Thank You and may you be blessed today.

A FULL HOUSE OF LAUGHTER & SURPRISE - A NEW BLACK STRIPE ON A "BROWN BELT"
Cindy and I had come up with a real plan to truly surprise our daughter, Juliet. As I have been reporting, we had a wonderful evening of laughter for a good cause, raising money and supplies for a local orphanage, Nana's House last night. This whole event was put together by Juliet. What she did not know is that her Mom & I had a big surprise for her.
Last year, Juliet lived in Worcester, MA on a mission to minister in an Inner City Church called "The Woo" (as in "wooing folks to Christ). She was so moved and grew so much in the Lord under the direction of Pastor Lucas and his family. So.....Cindy and I arranged (compliments of Southwest Airlines) to fly Pastor Lucas in to surprise our Juliet right at the end of the Improv Comedy Evening.
Juliet was "blown away" when her all-time favorite Pastor from Worcester walked right into the middle of the final Comedy act. Oh, it was a grand birthday gift. Pastor Lucas will be with us until Sunday morning and.....tonight, at 6:30pm, at the Cocoa Beach Pier, he will Baptize our Juliet. This is a Birthday that Juliet will NEVER forget!
Oh, by the way, the Improv Comedy evening was a complete success. Our Extreme Home was FULL, without an empty seat. Folks really turned out and when Pastor Lucas walked in and Juliet "almost fainted" there were very few dry eyes. Nana's House also got blessed with a nice cash offering and plenty of supplies. So....Mission Accomplished....with style!
Earlier yesterday, our Peter received his "Brown Belt with A Black Stripe". This is the final belt before he will go for his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has been part of a Christian Tae Kwon Do team headed by Happy Kierstead, a 3rd Degree Black Belt Instructor for nearly 5 years. Happy has done a superb job with her students including.....our son, Peter. We're very proud of Peter for sticking with this and bringing his training to this level.
Today, I'll be bringing Pastor Lucas to the airport with me and introducing him to a certain "Little Donkey" named Ti Burik. He'll probably end up joining us on numerous outreaches to the Islands in the days ahead. I'll also be working with Paul, our mechanic, this morning on the "Post Mission" inspection on Ti Burik. It's going to be a good day.
And....this evening at 6:30pm, we'll be at The Cocoa Beach Pier to witness the Baptism of Juliet. If you'd like to join us for this joyous celebration, come on out. Feel free to give me a call at: 321-544-7757 for more details. Afterwards, we'll return to our home for some light snacks and fellowship. Feel free to join us.
Well, it's that time, about to fix a big country breakfast with grits and eggs and hot Louisiana Sausage for your special guest. Then, we'll head to the airport. As always, THANK YOU for your precious love, prayer and support. God Bless!!

COMEDY AT THE HURSTON'S EXTREME HOME THIS EVENING
Hope you can make it over to our home this evening at 7:00pm. Our daughter, Juliet, has put together a great evening of "Laughs" for a good cause. We're asking for a simple donation of $5.00 and bring in some supplies for Nana's House, a local orphanage (diapers, diaper cream gift cards for fuel and/or food, sunblock, cleaning sponges, etc.) All proceeds will go to Nana's House. Our address is: 5560 Fan Palm Ave. - Cocoa, FL 32927 - Phone if you have any questions: 321-544-7757. Hope to see you!!
We had a great group of students over from Freedom 7 Middle School. I love "challenging" young people to use their minds and gifts to save lives. These were some very sharp kids and had wonderful questions. I'm glad that Audrey (holding white notebook) encouraged her fellow students to join her to learn more about the challenges of cleaning up dirty water and the consequences not having clean drinking water. This group also raised some money toward the funding of an Air Mobile Rescuer, for which we're very thankful.
Just as this group left, we celebrated our Juliet's 19th Birthday. Time surely flies. It does not seem like 16 years ago that our Lord brought this precious daughter to Cindy and I. We're so thankful that He did!
Juliet brings joy and comfort wherever she goes. Again, this is evidenced by the event that she put together this evening. I hope that you can make it over.
Among the gifts that we got Juliet, was a very cool Canon Rebel T3 Camera. Juliet has a strong interest in Journalism and this camera will help her to "capture" what's going on.
Well, it's time to head out this morning. I'll be attending a "Hearing" for a friend. Please remember Ray in your prayers this morning.
I must share something with you. Yesterday evening, I awakened around 1:30am wide awake. I had a lot on my mind and my heart was heavy. So, I reached over and got my trusty I-Phone and opened the Bible App and began reading I John.....the whole book (it's only 5 chapters). After reading it through once, I read it again. First of all, it's nice to be able to read the Bible in this way, as it does not disturb Cindy (no lights on). But next, WOW - what comfort and peace from simply reading God's Word!
The Word of God is so powerful and can calm stormy seas (particularly ones that occur in our hearts). May I encourage you, if you need some comfort and encouragement, simply go to God's Word! If you have a Smart Phone, put the Bible on it. You can pull it out anywhere anytime (except when you're driving). As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support. May you have a blessed day today!!

AIR MOBILE DOES HAVE A "SENSE OF HUMOR".....THANKS TO MY DAUGHTER, JULIET.....WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS TODAY!
My daughter, Juliet is a "Jewel". Not only is she bright and beautiful, but she has a great sense of humor and.....today is her Birthday. Juliet also has a tender heart to help others less fortunate. So, she came up with this wonderful idea to have an Improv Comedy Show at our Home tomorrow night. All proceeds go to Nana's House, a local orphanage that helps needy, neglected, abused and abandoned children.
If, you, who are riding along this "wandering blog" are local and want to have a good time and a great laugh for worthy cause, come on over to the Extreme Hurston Home tomorrow evening at 7:00pm. We'll have good, tasty snacks and refreshments and we'll have a great time and some good laughs together. Our address is: 5560 Fan Palm Ave. Cocoa, FL 32927. If you'd like more details, give me a call at: 321-544-7757.
You know, just a bit more about our wonderful Juliet. We adopted Juliet from Haiti when she was only 3 years old. Juliet has always had a sweet and compassionate heart to help others. She has put this whole event together for the sole purpose of helping other children in a desperate state. She also put it all together over her birthday weekend. To say that we are very proud of our Juliet would be an understatement. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIET!!
Again, we hope to see you tomorrow night! Yesterday was a good day. Secured some hard to find parts for Ti Burik, received some funding to buy more Rescuer Parts and had an excellent Flight Training session with my Instructor, Glen. Oh yes, I had asked you to pray with me regarding finding the best price and source on Aircraft Engine Oil and I did! Thanks for your prayer. The 55 gallon drum of AeroShell Oil will be delivered on Monday.
Today, will be out at the airport with Paul continuing our thorough "Post Mission" inspection on our Little Donkey. All is looking very good. We'll also be adding another good feature to Engine Analyzer System, digital Oil Temperature. Bit by bit, we're bringing Ti Burik into the "Digital Age". I love it!
Also, later this afternoon, we'll be hosting a group of Students from a local Middlge school. These students, headed by Audrey, are doing a school project on the need for clean water. They heard about our remarkable Air Mobile Rescuer and want to know more. I love to share this amazing technology and challenge students to study hard to invent things that save lives. This is the "fun" part of my job!
Well, it's time to head out this morning. As always, THANK YOU for your precious love, prayer and support!! God Bless!!

BARBARA HAS SUCCESSFUL SURGERY - ONE "TOUGH" COOKIE!
Yesterday, I phoned Barb's cell phone, expecting to speak with her daughter, Colleen. I had wanted to get a report on the surgery, I did not expect Barb to answer. Barb answered.... and sounded like she was out shopping. She was! The surgery went so well, that she was immediately released and was indeed out shopping. Barb is "one tough cookie"! That's why we call her, "Rambo in the Blue Dress". One of the reasons Barb is so "tough" for the Lord is that she is under-girded with a lot of prayer.
I'm sure the number of adoptions that Barb has arranged is well over 1000. She has folks all around the world praying for her. Because of Barb's extraordinary efforts, Cindy and I have two more beautiful daughters, that would likely not be alive today, had Barb not have found them and jumped through many, many hoops to complete their adoptions. Just thought I'd give you a bit of insight into why we call Barb, "Rambo in the Blue Dress".
Had a good day yesterday of maintenance/inspection on the Little Donkey. We're in the process of buying a 55 gallon drum of engine oil. Please pray that we find a good price for this acquisition. Aircraft engine oil has escalated significantly in price. By buying in bulk, we save several dollars per quart. Every oil change requires 20 quarts of oil. Those savings will add up immediately and quickly.
My flight training was postponed a day because of scheduled maintenance on our training aircraft. We are scheduled to fly this evening. I'm looking forward to getting back in the "training saddle".
It's quite chilly again this morning down here in Sunny Florida. It's a crisp 45 degrees. It's time to head out the door and continue our on-going preparations for our next mission and our acquiring parts and supplies. As always, I truly appreciate your prayer, love and support. God bless!!

CHILLY DOWN SOUTH - LATE SNOW IN THE NORTHEAST - FLIGHT TRAINING RESUMES
The Weather is a bit strange. Here we are in late April and it's quite chilly down here in Florida (46 degrees!) and the northeast had some very heavy snow (referred to as "Snowpril"). Suppose it has something to do with Global Warming or something. Well, it is the day that our Lord has made and we'll rejoice and be glad in it.
Meanwhile, up north in the Albany, NY area, Barbara (Rambo in the Blue Dress) had back surgery yesterday. Please pray her recovery goes well. We'll be getting a report on her condition a bit later today.
Paul, our aircraft mechanic and I will be conducting our "Post-Mission Inspection" on Ti Burik, our Little Donkey today. Still can't get over the "Weather On-Board" feature that we've added to the incredible instrument panel. Weather (bad) Avoidance is the way to stay out of trouble. Again, we're so thankful for all that have helped us to equip Ti Burik into such a fine aircraft. Surely, our Lord does ALL things well!
I'm very glad to be resuming my flight training this evening. My Instructor, Glen, and I will be reversing our roles. He will be the "Student" and I will be the "Instructor". Looking forward to that. The weather looks beautiful, though a bit chilly.
Well, it's time to head out the door. Have an early morning meeting with an Inventor who has developed a very leading edge power source. We'll be working on powering the Air Mobile Rescuer with his innovative energy source. Going to be a good day. I pray that you are extremely blessed today. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

A FAMILY "OUTREACH".....INTO A 'HARD TO REACH' PLACE
I'll not be able to share any photos for the following story due to "Confidentiality" Restrictions posed by the Hospital. Over the years, I've shared a bit here and there about our "Outreach" to a certain Psychiatric Hospital (UBC) in Orlando. I would like to tell you a bit more about this precious ministry.
Since I can't post any photos, I'll simply do my best to describe, "with words", a typical Sunday outreach. The Hurston Family was joined by the Menendez Family right on time yesterday. We began the rather "techy" set up with computer, overhead video projector, sound system and arranged the tables and chairs in the cafeteria. Everyone has a job and knows what to do. No instructions are given, the room simply re-shapes from cafeteria to "church".
Alfred Jr. is in charge of the music and sound. As the young people began to file in (ages between 10 - 17), the worship is led by the "Boys" this week (it rotates and the kids keep up with whose week it is). As each song is played and the words scroll across the screen, the young voices blend and harmonize. At the end of each song, the young people clap. There is a vibrant participation and deep respect for the worship. These young people could be in any church across America, as a matter of fact, you would marvel at how well behaved and loving they are.
After our group Praise, there are 3 solos. The first is a short, sweet Christian Rap. The second is a song sung by a young lady who sings with such confidence and strength. The third is a scripture read and a "mini-message and testimony". The audience listens with full attention and applause at the end. These kids show so much love and respect for each other....we just marvel.
Every one of these young people "have a story". They didn't just "appear" here. A terrible series of events in their lives led them to this place. Yet, on Sunday afternoon, they seem to lay down "their burdens" and just open their hearts and voices to the Lord.
Now, it's time to pray. Our Juliet leads this portion of the service. First, a young lady from the group takes the microphone and passes it from girl to girl with raised hands. Each prays directly to the Lord, usually for their families. Some, have no family and simply pray for a family to receive them when their "treatment" is finished. As each prays, the rest of the group quietly joins in prayer. Some prayers are so deep and sincere, the rest of the "church" will quietly applaud. The mic passes from "pray-er" to "pray-er".
Juliet moves the mic from the "girls" side to the "boys" side. Prayer after prayer, quiet, sincere moments gently pass. Peter, our 14 year old, is playing the piano. Peter first came to UBC when he weighed about 20 pounds and I carried him in a car carrier. He has literally grown up doing "the second" service in the Hurston Family all of his life (he was 7 months old when this UBC ministry began, Juliet was 5). The most beautiful, quiet melody, flows off of his finger tips as "pray-er" after "pray-er" pours out their hearts and cries to the Lord for help through terribly troubled times.
Cindy and I have known many members of the staff here, some for over 15 years. This is their Sunday Service also. Our attendance today is between 55-60. This is typical. You see, the entire service is Voluntary. Not a single person is required to attend. Yet, our attendance percentage is close to 80%! The Staff joins us in prayer and worship. Now, the Prayer Time is finished. Juliet and Peter give way to my Cindy, as it is her week to share.
Today, we are in John 4 about the Samaritan Woman at the well. Cindy easily and smoothly preaches her way all the way through the entire Chapter. She tells how Jesus knows all about us and yet.....loves us so deeply. Cindy also shared on the "Living Water". Talk about a rich chapter! After the Chapter is read and the message delivered, Alfred Jr. then plays the Book of John Video, Chapter 4. All of the points just made by Cindy, are played out on the screen. The Message is Delivered. Jesus loves us beyond anything we can imagine. As the video is playing, Alfred Sr. and I just stand at the back and marvel at what is taking place. We are so thankful for this open door behind "closed doors".
We wrap up our service right on time, as parents are waiting to visit with their children. We quickly return the "church" back to the cafeteria. Another week of service and an indescribable joy in our hearts in having "reached" into a place that is closed and brought in the light and love of God.
We often bring friends with us to this service. If you'd ever like to join us and we truly welcome you, please get in touch with me by either phoning me at: 321-544-7757 or dropping me an e-mail at: www.airmobilejoe@gmail.com. We'd love to have you share this wonderful joy with us.
Well, it's that time of the morning. Have a full day "getting ready" for the next mission. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love prayer and support. God Bless!!

COLD FRONT PASSES WITH STRONG STORMS
Was awakened around 2:30am with our Weather Alert Alarm blaring. There was a line of severe storms coming our way with a strong possibility of tornadic activity. Cindy and I watched and prayed for several hours. The violent weather just skirted right by us. Early reports this morning, do no indicate any real damage from the storms. Thank the Lord!
Well, our good friend and fellow pilot, Paul (from England) departed early this morning. Paul spent the last week with us and joined me on our last mission to Haiti. He was a big help in getting Air Mobile Rescuers refurbished. We wish him a safe journey back to his precious family "on the sheep farm" in Wales.
Yesterday was spent running errands, i.e. getting chicken food, changing the oil, picking up a rental car for Paul and....going to see some of my Grand-kids. Little Levi loves airplanes. He wears my AOPA Cap well.
Well, it's Sunday morning in the Hurston Home and time to get ready for Church and Chapel at the Hospital. It's good to be home. As always, THANK YOU for your love prayer and support. God Bless!!

SMOOTH FLIGHT HOME - NICE TO "TRACK" THE WEATHER - REPORT FROM THE "FIELD"
Paul and I headed to the Port-Au-Prince International Airport yesterday and we were joined by Mirlande. Mirlande has worked with Barbara (Rambo in the Blue Dress) for nearly 20 years. They are truly like "Sisters". Well, Mirlande has a condition that requires some additional medical attention, so it worked out for our Little Donkey to give her a ride back to the U.S.
We climbed to 12,500 feet and settled into smooth flight home. Had light headwinds (about 10mph), but thanks to the extra fuel tanks, landed in Fort Pierce with nearly 2 hours of extra fuel. This is such a blessing! But, the main blessing on this flight was the additional Weather On-Board! Thanks to Garmin and XM, we are now able to see exactly what we're "flying into". I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing that is!!
I received a very nice note from Mike, the Director of the Children's Orphanage in Caberet, Haiti. Here's the note and a shot of some of the kids drinking water.
Joe,
Thank you so much for all you do to help provide clean drinking water for Haiti.
The Vortex Voyager is a great machine! We were near the center of the kolera out break, and did not have a single case at our orphanage thanks to your efforts.
God bless you, and I pray you will continue with this ministry for many years to come!
Meci Anpil,
Mike Snider
Director
Cabaret Baptist Children's Home
Cabaret Baptist Academy
Cabaret Baptist Church
We truly appreciate the great work that Mike and Bonnie are doing in Haiti. We also appreciate your precious love, prayer and support that enables us to do what we do! Well, it's that time of the day. Need to finish the second cup of coffee and head out the door. God bless and THANKS again!!

MAKING CONNECTIONS.....FOR CLEAN WATER & SAVING LIVES
Headed into town on the motorcycle for a few meetings. First, went to Mission Aviation Fellowship to pray. I usually do this before meetings, as things usually go better. Immediately following prayer, caught a ride via an official to set a meeting with the head of the AAN (this is the other Directorate for the Aviation Authorities). This group handles the buildings and the ground operations.
I was soon directed to Mr. Ernst, a friend of mine for over 30 years. It was good to see Ernst in such a "lofty position". We shared many memories and I particularly wanted to thank him and AAN for their consideration and excellent manner in which they treat "The Little Donkey" when it lands. It was very good for me to share all that we are doing with the water purifiers. Ernst truly appreciates what we are doing to help fight the dread disease Cholera.
After our meeting, spent a few minutes simply thanking the Lord for such FAVOR with the Haitian Authorities. While fueling our Little Donkey (getting ready for our next flight), I met Patrick, a local Business man. Patrick has a large Construction Company in Haiti. We've met before. While visiting on the ramp, a wonderful idea came to me (I truly believe that our Lord was still answering that earlier prayer that MAF and I prayed)
Why not ask Patrick if he'd be willing to "lend" his beautiful Bell Jet Ranger III to our mission from time to time for us go fly into Medor. Remember that very isolated airstrip that Stan Brock and his group Remote Area Medical (RAM) have been trying to get open. Well, having helicopter access would not only facilitate the opening of the field, it would give an Emergency Flight Service to the community of 40,000+. Cholera has ravaged that area and it is one of the most isolated regions I have ever encountered in 40+ years of relief work. Here's a shot of Patrick's pretty bird just before they took off.
Well, I asked Patrick about it and HE LIKED THE IDEA! Praise God. We have a ways to go to bring this to reality, but we have begun with the first step. After Patrick took off, I phoned Stan Brock (some of you "old timers" might remember Stan Brock from Wild Kingdom, he was the Co-Star with Marlin Perkins). Needless to say, Stan was very excited about the prospects.
Wow, what a morning!! Made some serious "Connections". I love it when our Lord puts things together like that. After those great meetings, headed over to have some good fellowship my dear friend, Pastor Enock. Have known Enock for 32 years. He's also the Head Air Traffic Controller in charge of Training at Port-Au-Prince. We spent some quality time together in prayer.
Headed back to the "Village" and got Unit #8 up and working. Now, we have a good Inventory of Refurbed units until the next time we come back to Haiti. Ahhh, this "Mission" is almost accomplished. But, have a full day ahead of us. As always, THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support. Time to get on with this day. The sun is almost rising and I can smell the coffee. God Bless!

RAISING "RESCUERS" TO SERVE
Paul and I had a superb day of "Resurrecting" Rescuers to serve again. You know, we've been maintaining these units in Haiti for nearly 8 years now. They just keep running and running and running and serving and protecting from dread diseases like cholera, etc.
It is simply a joy and a true labor of love to rebuild these incredible units. In this shot, to Paul's right, is Leis holding one of the "Village" babies. Leis has served in this Village for many, many years. Among Leis's many responsibilities is turning on the big Generator when necessary and also operating the Rescuers bringing clean water to the children and those in this wonderful "Village". We praise God for ladies like Leis. By the way, our intrepid, Barbara (AKA - Rambo in the Blue Dress) is in New York getting surgery for her back. PLEASE remember Barb in your prayer!!
I had been thinking about checking on a couple of units that we have in Caberet when the phone rang and it was the Michael, the Director of the Orphanage. He had needed a few components for his units. I love it when our Lord does that! I had just been thinking about Michael and his orphanage.
I left Paul (who is very clever!), diagnosing and repairing Rescuers and I jumped on the little Blue Motorcycle and dashed about 40 Kilometers up the road to the Florida Baptist Orphanage of Caberet and found Michael and Bonnie. I quickly gave them the replacement spouts and checked both of their units. They have been drinking "Rescuer" water for over 4 years!!
This great couple directs a large orphanage with many children and they also direct a school with over 500 children. They are also positioned between the Central Plateau and Port-Au-Prince, a main "Corridor" for Cholera. Last year, over 540,000 Haitians were infected with Cholera and over 7000 died. This is serious business. Again, I praise God for faithful servants like Michael and Bonnie who are standing "In the Gap" to bring life and the love of God!!
On the way back to the Village, I stopped by another great couple, David and Judy Heady. They've been in Haiti drilling wells for 30 years. I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing they have been for so many. Well, David's Head Pastor of his mission is an avid writer for the Lord and prints his own books. His printer is broken and they've asked me if I can get the parts. I'll tell you now, it's going to be difficult, as the Standard 360 is obsolete. Again, may I ask you to please pray that we find the components so that the Pastor can keep printing these books filled with life and love.
As I left the Heady's Compound, I noticed some new "Town Houses" built following the 2010 Earthquake. I'm often asked if I see progress following the terrible quake. We do see bits and pieces of progress and from time to time, I'll try to snap some shots showing new construction.
Paul and I have gotten about all the units up and going that we can. Our tally is 7 perhaps 8 units. Now, these Refurbished units are available to any of our 300+ operators in Haiti that have a problem with their unit. All they have to do is bring in their inoperative unit and we swap it right out on the spot. In that way, we help to keep the clean water flowing and we chase Cholera away!
It's time to head out for the day. Have a whole list of stuff to do. Please pray for our protection and direction as we serve here. As always, THANK YOU so much for your precious love, prayer and support. By the way, it's good to get the Website back up. Don't know what happened, it seems to have broken at the Server level. Just glad to have www.airmobile.org back up. Have a blessed day!!

A SWEET "TUG" & A SMOOTH FLIGHT TO HAITI
Yesterday, very early in the morning, Paul (from England) & I headed to the hangar and finished loading Ti Burik with Formula and diapers. Then.....I pulled the "heavy" Little Donkey out of the hangar with our handy little "Tug" thanks to Captain Ed. Talk about sweet. Oh, I've pulled Ti Burik out many a time when she's loaded.
Paul and I, then prayed for our Journey, that our Lord would bring us to Haiti and all the way back safely. Then, we rolled down runway 18 in the cool of the dark morning. We donned our Oxygen Masks & quickly climbed to 17,000 feet and settled down to an absolutely beautiful, smooth flight to Haiti.
Our time enroute was 4 hours, 40 minutes - a total of 759 Nautical miles (873 Statue miles). What a remarkable thing it is to leave one country and fly to another in a little airplane. The Caribbean sunrise was spectacular and the sense of the presence of the Lord was comforting.
Upon landing at Port-Au-Prince, we cleared all of the supplies and headed directly to "The Village". We could see the final pockets of water still standing. Mallory, Barb's Assistant, had done an excellent job cleaning up and taking good care of the group that was helping out.
Upon arrival, I jumped on the little Blue Motorcycle and dashed right back into town to meet with Director General Flambert, the head of Civil Aviation. We discussed the status of the acquisition of the new Air Traffic Control Radios for Port-Au-Prince. I am very encouraged that the deal is about to be finalized. Please keep praying that this come to pass, as it will dramatically increase the safety of all incoming and outgoing aircraft to Haiti.
Upon returning to the "Village" I found Nelta keeping a Rescuer going. Nelta has been with Barb for many many years and has personally kept the clean water flowing in Ruuska. Here, she is simply taking the unit apart to clean the filter. It is such a blessing knowing that these little machines have kept cholera, diarrhea and other dread disease "at bay" in this community. Such a simple, but powerful machine.
Well, that's part of the reason we're here..to keep these machines up and going. We now have 322 units in Haiti. Thank the Lord. Well, it's time to get on with this beautiful day. As always, THANK YOU for you faithful prayer, love and support! God Bless!!

WEATHER IN THE COCKPIT!
You may have heard of XM Radio. They also offer an amazing service to pilots, the ability to receive weather in the cockpit. Oh, it's a few minutes old, but talk about make a difference! Yesterday, I ordered the "Aviator" Package that gives a full weather briefing on-board. This certainly makes this pilot smile!
My Flight Instructor, Glen, arranged with XM Radio to waive the installation charges. Dan, in HQ spent some time with me on the phone explaining the new system and he found every good discount available. So, for around $60 per month, I'm all "Weathered" up! Talk about a deal.
Well, up early this morning and will be meeting some of our volunteers at the hangar to secure our next load to Haiti. Haiti has had a bit of break from the rain, and the "Village" has been cleaning up following the recent floods. So glad we can gather up some help for them. It's time to head out this morning. As always, THANK YOU for your love, prayer and support! God bless!

FLIGHT TRAINING RESUMING - THE "VILLAGE" DIGGING OUT OF FLOOD
If the weather holds this evening, will continue our good flight training. Looking forward to being the "Instructor". My "Student" will be my Instructor. We'll be working on Simulated Engine Failures and need a ceiling of around 5000 feet to safely conduct the training. We'll keep an eye on the weather today.
Speaking of weather, spoke with Barbara (Rambo in the Blue Dress) from Haiti yesterday. Apparently, a severe cluster of rainstorms caused heavy flooding in "The Village" over the weekend. They're still digging out. The Rainy Season is just beginning. There are so many communities "precariously" perched on mountainsides. With just a moderately heavy rain, treacherous mud slides can occur. Over the years, we have seen thousands of Haitians perish from this. Still with hundreds of thousands of Haitians displaced from the 2010 earthquake, many are living in extremely vulnerable places. We ask our Lord for mercy.
Today, we're gathering supplies for our next Mission to Haiti. I'll have Paul, from England, with me for the next few days to be my assistant "Water Mule". We'll also be installing "XM Weather" on the Garmin 510 GPS (recently donated to Air Mobile by Garmin). This wonderful addition will bring weather reporting right into the cockpit of Ti Burik. Believe me, on that long flight to Haiti, this is an invaluable addition to our instrument panel and will increase our safety margin significantly. We're so thankful for all the wonderful additions to Ti Burik!
Well, it' time to have that cup of coffee with my beloved Cindy. I pray you have a wonderful day. As always, we truly appreciate your prayer, love and support. God Bless!!

DELAYED TRAINING - SUCCESSFUL TEST FLIGHT - A GROWING "CRITICAL" SITUATION IN HAITI
Had a solid ceiling of under 4000 feet, thus, could not do flight training yesterday. However, my instructor, Glen, and I had a "lively" Ground School Training. Our roles were reversed. I was the Instructor and he was the student. Paul (from England) "monitored" our class and we were able to cover some "Bush Flying" aspects. It was a good morning.
Paul and I then headed over to Space Center Executive airport and join Paul, our mechanic, for some final "tweaks" on calibrating our fuel indication systems. We also have installed digital fuel flows. This is a very nice feature to add to our original 42 year old "steam gauge" systems. After all checked out on the ground, Paul and I took the Little Donkey around the patch for a few take-off and landings. Ahhhh, All Systems - Go!
Upon landing, received a call from a dear brother that wants to place an Air Mobile Rescuer in a needy place. We'll be getting together today for the hand-off. More clean water to needy folks. I do believe that this brings joy to our Savior!!
When Paul and I were having a late lunch at "Dogs", I opened an e-mail from Barbara in Haiti. There have been torrential rains over the last few days and much flooding. Though we haven't heard of mud slides in the news, these rains are certainly "cocking the trigger" for terrible mud slides. May I urge you to pray for Haiti as the rainy season has begun. In addition to mud slides, Cholera is on the rise. Our work is cut out for us. So glad our Little Donkey is "ready to go". We stand-by awaiting our "Marching Orders".
Well, it's Sunday morning and the Hurston Family is getting ready for Church and then Chapel in Orlando with the young people. It is a beautiful day and we have so much for which to be THANKFUL! We certainly appreciate you and your prayers! May you have a blessed day. God bless!!

GETTING "AN OLD FRIEND" BACK VIA AN ORIGINAL "WATER MULE"
Ron Cowart first came to work for CSA in 1999 building toner cartridges. Ron then became our "Original Water Mule" when he made the first Rescuer in 2004. He then moved into Computer repair. Now, Ron does independent computer work and last night, he returned my little intrepid laptop with a brand new hard drive and updated soft-ware.
It's good to have my "little friend" back. This lap top has been all over the world with me and after careful consideration, Ron felt that we could "Restore" it. So, here I am, up bright and early "Blogging" on my familiar laptop. Must admit, blogging on the phone stretched me a bit, but at least was able to get the daily blog out. It's good to know that I can turn to the "phone" in a pinch.
Yesterday was intense. Had a challenging meeting regarding the steps necessary to manufacture the components on the Rescuer. We're still on course, simply need to provide additional information and lay out more plans. Then, spent the afternoon studying for my next flight lesson (that will occur in the next few hours). We're getting down to the real "nitty gritty" of training.
This morning, I will be taking my "Student" (he is actually my instructor) up and demonstrating "engine out" procedures. Then, the "Student" will have to demonstrate to me what to do. May sound rather elementary, but it's not. I can certainly "fly" the plane, but teaching someone else to do it is quite a challenge. I must admit, all the studying that I've been doing regarding "Fundamentals of Instructing" are beginning to pay off.
Will also be meeting with Paul (our mechanic) and we'll be fueling The Little Donkey and calibrating all the fuel gauges. So glad that we've gotten all of the systems back on-line. It's been a long road, but Ti Burik is better than before, that's for sure!
Last night, had another good friend come in, Paul from England (lives in Wales on a Sheep Farm). Paul just arrived from Bolivia where he was looking into doing some Missionary Flying with a group down there. Paul will be with us for the next few days. Always good to have visiting with us.
Well, it's time to head out the door. As always, THANK YOU for your love, prayer and support. God bless!!

MEETING WITH A VETERAN CAPTAIN (747)
Recently, I received a note from Ed Copeland (Retired 747 Captain - Pan Am). He had a "Tug" and wanted to know if I needed it. Now, a "Tug" is a clever device that helps to pull an airplane out of a hanger (and put it back in). It just so happened that Ed had had a Cessna 337 (Same as Ti Burik) and used the "Tug" to move his bird in and out of the the hangar. My answer to Ed's question: "You bet - I could really use that "Tug"!!"
After an early morning meeting with Alan (an inventor of very unique Power Supplies), I headed over to meet with Captain Ed. The "Tug" will be a great blessing, particularly when I fly in alone and need to put Ti Burik (our Little Donkey) back in barn. It's a handful putting that bird in single-handedly. THANKS ED!!
I departed Ed's place and headed over to meet Joe Prussel (Premier Water Mule). Joe had secured funding for an Air Mobile Rescuer. Another blessing! The "Wake-Up Call" (huge series of Earthquakes in the "Ring of Fire" this past Tuesday) has prompted us to begin building Rescuers for the "Next Disaster". We are so thankful that those 3 Earthquakes did not produce Tsunami's.
From there, it was off picking up parts and supplies for Ti Burik and getting that sweet little bird ready for our next mission. Paul and Joe (our Mechanics) were conducting a "Post Mission" inspection following our last flight to Haiti.
Today, will be in more meetings regarding the manufacture of certain components for our Rescuer. Folks, all I can say is, "Keep on Praying". We are making remarkable progress in lining up a reliable supply chain to keep the units in operation and clean water flowing. As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

A WAKE-UP CALL - THE RING OF FIRE "FIRING UP"
We, at Air Mobile and CSA, have been working diligently to create a solid "Supply Chain" of components for the amazing Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier. We are continuing on that noble quest. Today, I will be having more meetings and entering into manufacturing agreements to assure that we will be able to make an unlimited number of these "Life-Saving" units. One thing is for sure, when disaster hits, CLEAN WATER is vital!
I love the fact that all we have to do is go to the Bible and find that the Words of Jesus in Matthew 25 resonate this quest and commission to bring CLEAN WATER to the needy. Air Mobile has been so blessed to have provided nearly 800 units to more than 40 countries around the world.
I believe that we must act quickly and decisively to get all of the "Pieces" together so that clean water can flow freely. Please pray for me today as I meet with these folks who can help us to produce these critical components.
By the way, for the last 12 days, I've been blogging on my phone. The blogs have been rather short and choppy. Today, I'm working my way back into a full computer and have the ability to "Ramble" a bit more freely. Thanks for riding with me on this amazing journey!
Well, it's that time of day....time to head out the door and see what our Lord has for us today. Please remember to pray that we establish good and solid supply lines for the Rescuer. Oh, I'll be sending out a regular e-mail report soon giving more details on this quest. As always, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!! God Bless!!!

Just minutes ago, a massive Quake (8.7) hit off the Northern coast of Indonesia ( the same region that the massive 9.1 quake of 12-26-04). Tsunami warnings have been issued. Air Mobile is standing by for more reports. Please PRAY!
Initial reports indicate the massive quake had "Horizontal" movement rather than "Vertical". This minimizes large movement of water, i.e. Tsunami Waves. We are following the developments closely.
