THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES.....AUGUST 2015

8-19-15 Wednesday 2:39AM (U.S. Eastern Time) - Cocoa, FL - Air Mobile Home Base - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

HERE COMES DANNY!

Well, we've had some very, very quiet Hurricane Seasons, however....Looks like we may have our first real Hurricane to come into the Caribbean in a long time.

His name, should he continue to grow from a Tropical Storm into a Hurricane, is Danny.

Time to keep an eye out and get ready to "batten down the hatches".  Here's more on this looming threat - TROPICAL STORM DANNY CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN - MAY BECOME A HURRICANE LATER THIS WEEK

Spent yesterday preparing for the "next mission".  Met with Marianne of Dressed in Hope.  There are a group of ladies that make the most precious little dresses for orphans around the world.  We're so blessed to have Marianne as one of our donors!

We also met with Joe Prussel at the hangar.  You may recall that Joe joined us on our first mission to Nepal.  It was there that we met Brian from CBN.  We had a bit of a "reunion" yesterday.

We're keeping a very close eye on the weather in the Caribbean.  Danny is beginning to stir things up.  Now, is the time to get ready and prepare.

My "To Do List" is growing.  Better get an early start.  As always, THANK YOU for wandering down this, sometimes stormy, road of life with us.  Above all, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

WAITING FOR PARTS & MORE GOOD NEWS ABOUT COFFEE!!

One of the wonderful advantages to having a little airplane (Ti Burik) is being able to bring in critical parts for fellow missionaries.

BTW, yesterday Brian (of CBN) and I took the Little Donkey up for a successful test flight following our routine maintenance and inspection.  It passed with flying colors!

Have known David and Judy of Global Outreach for several years and truly admire what they do.  Haiti is blessed to have such missionaries!!

They, among many things, drill wells and bring people clean water in Haiti.  A truly noble mission.

One thing about David and Judy that I love, is how they PRAY!  Anytime, I'm in the area, I drop in and we just pray together.

David contacted me recently and asked if I could bring him some critical components (turbo chargers) for 2 of his vehicles.  Of course I could.

But...been waiting for them to arrive.  Hopefully, they'll be here soon so David can go on and drill more wells for the thirsty.  I THANK GOD for David and Judy and all they do for the Haitian people!

As I sip my coffee this morning, have something I'd like to share.  Another great report on how coffee can help with recovery from colon cancer.  Now, here's the story - STUDY FINDS: COFFEE AIDS COLON CANCER RECOVERY

There, just wanted to share that tidbit of info for those who think coffee is bad for you.  It's really a gift from God!

So, today, we wait for parts and gather supplies for our next mission.  Barbara is sending her "shopping list" for the kids in the "Village".  Yes, I love my job.

As always, THANK YOU for joining us with your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

MORE ON "THE ECONOMY"

Just to follow up on yesterday's blog about putting some "Cash" aside, came across the story about the state of the Global Economy.  According to some, we are in a very, very vulnerable position.

Again, folks, we're not trying to alarm anyone, but it's good to just look at what is going on from several different angles.

Here's a story that further explains why we should be looking at this situation and above all, PRAYING about it.  DOOMSDAY CLOCK STRIKES ONE MINUTE TO MIDNIGHT AS CENTRAL BANKS "LOSE CONTROL"

I am not an economist and it's difficult for me to understand all of the factors, however, this story does come complete with a lot charts and there is definitely a "downward" spiral.  All the more reason to PRAY!

Again, the important thing is to be where our Lord wants us to be.  I go back to the simple prayer that Jesus taught us...."Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven".  I just want to do what He wants me to do today.

Yesterday, I picked up Brian from CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network).  As I shared earlier, met Brian in Nepal by a "Divine Appointment" (thanks to that second cup of coffee - just read on down to get that story if you missed it).

Brian is the Manager of International Relief for CBN and sees the Air Mobile Rescuer as a great potential tool to fight thirst around the world.  He'll be spending the next couple of days with us and learning more about the Rescuer.

After picking Brian up, we dashed straight to the Hospital where Cindy and I have been Chaplains for the last 18 years.

Brian shared with both the young and the adult patients.  It was good to minister with him.  Afterwards we had a great lunch with our Associate Ministers, the Menendez family.

Today, we'll be gathering up supplies and testing equipment for our "next mission".

We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!

HAVE SOME CASH$$ ON HAND....

Several years ago, Pastor Mark Biltz made an amazing discovery, or shall I say a "Connecting of the dots", of the extremely rare and extraordinary astronomical phenomenon known as the "Blood Moons".

On September 28th, we'll experience the 4th and final Blood Moon and many (Christians and Non-Christians) are pointing to the Bible and wondering if these are not signs from God.

Now, Cindy and I do not believe that this the "End of the World", however, it serves us well to be, as Biltz encourages, "....prepared mentally, spiritually and practically".  In other words, have some extra CASH$$ on hand.

Again, we don't say any of this to be an alarmist, or prophets of doom, it is simply good advice for these turbulent days.

There is no question that large economic moves and changes are coming to this world.  Some are saying an "Economic Train Wreck" is coming.  We don't know, but....

Now, here's an excellent article that I came across this morning and I'd like to share it with you.  It gives practical advice as to how we can prepare for the days ahead - HAVE CASH ON HAND WARNS BLOOD MOON DISCOVERER

But, what we need more than anything is GOD'S WISDOM!!  Just read in Proverbs 16 (today being the 16th) that..."How much better to get wisdom than gold and to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver".

The "Bottom Line" is we need our Lord's wisdom to know how to navigate through these days ahead.  There is no better place to be than "in God's will"!

Now, since September 28th is still 43 days ahead, we all have time to lay aside a little cash.  Perhaps you, like us, are thinking about buying something that we could live without.  Just putting that money aside (into cash) could be an excellent idea.  Just a thought....

You see, I simply want to share these ideas with you, as a matter of prayer.

Our hope and prayer is that September 28th will come and go as a normal day (except we'll have a Super Blood Moon to grace the evening sky).  But, if our Lord is prompting us to prepare in certain ways, we certainly want to be obedient.

So, it's a beautiful Sunday morning.  Time to go pick up Brian (of CBN) at the airport and embark on the next mission.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious love, prayer and support!!

A "SECOND CUP OF COFFEE".....CHANGED EVERYTHING

I'm recalling how I met Brian.  It was that "Second Cup" of coffee that did it.  Here's the story.

On our first trip into Nepal following the devastating earthquake, Joe Prussel and I had just returned from a "harrowing" series of deployments of delivering clean water into "Ground Zero" (The Gorkha Region).

We'd been out for 3 days and had just come back into Kathmandu to prepare for another series of strategic deployments.  We were met by a prominent church leader who had helped us place 5 Air Mobile Rescuers.

And yes, we were having a delicious cup of coffee and giving a comprehensive "de-briefing" on our deployments.  The leader suggested we go visit a local Bible College, where his brother is one of the directors.

We were about to leave when I had this very strong urge for a "Second Cup of Coffee".  The leader understood.  We sat back down and I had that delicious cup.  We added about 10 minutes to our schedule and it was well worth it.

We then drove to the Bible School.  Upon arrival, there on the front steps at the entrance sat "Dan" of CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network).  He had just sat down there and had his lap top and was writing a report.  We greeted one another.

He told me of his work with CBN and I told him of our work with the Air Mobile Rescuer.  Dan instantly stated that there was someone that I needed to meet but....he wasn't here at the time.  He was at a funeral.  "OK, I'll meet him sometime", I said.

We began our tour and within 5 minutes, Brian, of CBN walked up (he had just returned from the funeral) and introduced himself.  He simply stated that Dan said we needed to talk.  Now, folks, the rest is history!

As a result of that "perfectly timed" meeting, CBN has funded 11 Air Mobile Rescuers and Brian is flying in tomorrow to join me on our next mission!

So, that "second cup of coffee" caused our schedules and our paths to cross at the perfect time.  Our Lord is GOOD and has given us the gift of coffee to boot.

So, today, we're gathering up supplies for our next Mission.  Brian, with CBN, will be arriving tomorrow and we'll launch out, bringing clean water and the GOOD NEWS of Jesus to a thirsty world.

I love it when our Lord puts a plan together.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT ABORTION

The numbers are in....The Mainstream Media (MSM) has spent a total of....0.008% of their news-casting ability on the undercover "Planned Parenthood Abortion to Harvest Baby Parts" videos.

Out of 243.5 hours of Prime-Time News, only 1 minute, 13 seconds was devoted to this subject.  It is obvious that the MSM does not want the public to know what really happens behind the doors of Planned Parenthood.

Right along those lines, came across this short, but very clear and succinct story on this that I'd like to share.  It's only 6 minutes long and I urge to take the time and watch it.  It truly captures the essence of the horror of abortion - GLEN BECK: THE MOST POWERFUL PRO-LIFE VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN

I was reading Proverbs 14 today (being as it's August 14th*) and I came across verses 25 and 26.  "A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.  In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence and His children will have a place of refuge".  Folks, we must speak the truth and stand up for the unborn!!!  We need to hear the TRUTH about what is happening!!

I am taking this opportunity to share this with you and I hope that you share it with others.  Unless we SPEAK THE TRUTH, the LIES will prevail.  Please share this.

Now, that I have that off of my chest this morning, here's a quick report on yesterday.

Showed up at the airport and Paul was already on the trail of the "leaking baffles".  We'll work on keeping those Little Donkey engines cool.

Before we could perform a test flight, a horrendous storm came through, blowing over trees and knocking out the electricity at the airport.  Will have to wait another day for that test flight.

The storm prevented the "Sewing Machine" exchange from taking place at the airport.  So, I met with Michelle (the generous donor) at a local gas station and we transferred the 2 sewing machines and a lot of material and patterns under the awning.

These gifts will be such a blessing to the ladies in Barb's Village.  Praise God!

A dear friend of ours has given Cindy and I access to a beautiful resort, The Great Outdoors.  Before school starts for Ariana, we're taking advantage of this gift and spending a little time on the many nature trails.  We love this part of Florida.  Amazing sunsets!!

Today, hope to take the Little Donkey around the patch to be sure those baffles are doing their job.  We'll see what our Lord has for us today.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful love, prayer and support!!

* I try to read God's Word everyday (yes, some days I miss).  A good way to keep on track is to, at least, read the corresponding Proverb to the day.  Today, being the 14th of August, I read Proverbs 14.

Now, this is not always the only Scriptures I read, but....it sure is a good way to get some of the Word in every day.  His Word is our strength and our hope and our guidance.  Whatever you do, please try to read some of His word daily.  Your day will go better!!

HILLARY IN "FREE FALL" - JUST HOW SERIOUS ARE THE "BREACHES"?

Have you been following the "Hillary E-Mail" stories?  Folks, I want you to know, this is a serious matter and has, indeed, affected our National Security.

I came across this story, this morning, that does an excellent job of explaining, in detail, what this means.  I encourage you to take a few minutes and read it.  These are matters worthy of our PRAYER! - THE SPY SATELLITE SECRETS IN HILLARY'S E-MAILS!

A number of years ago, while working at Kennedy Space Center, I uncovered a major Security Problem.  For several years, I traveled and gave "briefings" on this issue.  During that time, I gained significant knowledge of just how important it is to keep certain information out of our enemies' hands.

Again, Folks, I know that many will try to "smooth" this issue (Hillary's 'Breaches') over, but....this is some very, very serious stuff.  So, again, I urge you to PRAY about this matter!

Meanwhile, we're gathering more supplies for what may become our "next mission".  This morning, I'll meet Michelle who has several sewing machines and material for the ladies in the Barb's "Village" in Haiti.

The "Sewing Project" has been very successful, and the ladies are learning skills that are helping them provide for themselves.

Will also be taking our Little Donkey up for a test flight.  Paul, our mechanic, has been working hard to keep our engines "cool" by tightening up the "Baffles".  No, this is not a "baffling situation".

It's time to head to the airport.  THANK YOU for wandering down this winding road of life with us.  We're glad you're with us.  Above all, we're thankful for your prayer, love and support!!

SETTLING IN...

Yesterday was a day Cindy and I will long remember.  Peter moved out of our home and into a whole new life at F.I.T. (Florida Institute of Technology).  Yes, it is "bitter - sweet" but we know he's on a good path.

We got him all settled into his dorm and his roommate is a friend from High School (Astronaut High).

You'll notice, next to his computer is a brand new Kurig.  Peter likes coffee.  After lunch, we bid him farewell and went on about the business of the day.

Peter will do well!  But....we ask you to remember him in your prayers.  THANKS!!

Did you notice that China devalued it's currency yesterday?  This is causing quite a stir in the international financial world.

We've been tracking that situation for some time and if...the Chinese economy continues to stumble, it will have a massive, global effect.  Again, we need to PRAY & seek His wisdom and guidance as to what to do.  Here's more - CHINA STEPS UP CURRENCY WAR WITH DRAMATIC DEVALUATION

This is not a notice to "Panic", we simply need to pray about it and be sensitive to His voice in our own lives.  Meanwhile, we're getting ready for our "next mission" and gathering up supplies and seeking to keep clean water flowing where we can.

Just read in Proverbs 12:7...."The house of the righteous shall stand".  Praise God, Jesus gives us His righteousness and that is how we stand!!

Oh, Folks, we need HIM. His word is a light unto our path and an encouragement to our soul.  As we hear story after story from brutal executions by ISIS to the horror being brought to light by these latest Planned Parenthood videos, it is easy to become discouraged.  That is why we need His Word daily.

I'll confess, sometimes, I hit the ground running and fail to read His word and I absolutely feel it.  That is why, I want to encourage you to read The Word daily and....your day will go better.

Time to run now.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PETER GOES TO COLLEGE

Cindy and I knew this day would come.  Peter is moving out of our home this morning and into his dorm at Florida Institute of Technology (F.I.T.).  We're rejoicing on one hand and very sad on the other.  Truth is....we're going to miss Peter.

The good news is...he's not very far away, only about an hour drive.  We'll see him on most weekends.  Of course, with College Football about to begin, Peter and I will likely meet on most Saturday evenings at our favorite hang-out, "Dogs-R-Us" to watch our beloved LSU Tigers!

We're extremely THANKFUL to F.I.T. for giving Peter a "full-ride" scholarship.  We're also very proud of Peter for achieving excellent grades in high school.  Peter will be studying Meteorology, a noble quest.  This will certainly help him with his pursuit of aviation.

You may have heard, Astronaut Buzz Aldrin has recently joined the staff of F.I.T.  Buzz is a legendary aviator and will bring much to F.I.T.  I hope Peter catches some of his classes!

We're up early this morning.  Have all the stuff (maybe) Peter will need to live in a dorm at F.I.T.   We need to head out early this morning for the Orientation and getting Peter set up.

So, on this "bitter-sweet" morning, we go forth.  PLEASE remember Peter in your prayers as he navigates into this next phase of his life.  We PRAY that Peter walks closer and closer with our Lord each day.

And, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support.  We so appreciate you!!

LIFE GOES ON

Received a note from a missionary in Haiti last night.  Their 2 vehicles are down due to blown turbos.  I wrote for them to send the replacements to us and the "Little Donkey" will carry them in....on our next mission.  So glad that we can help.

Steadily, baby food and formula are also coming in.  Can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate the generosity and love of so many.  The "Little Donkey" is a precious life-line!

Speaking of Haiti, Elections were held yesterday, the first in 4 years.  The Elections were marred by low turn-out, sporadic violence and corruption, but....they still went on.

I'm glad that they've made this important step and pressed through.  More elections are coming.  We PRAY for peace to reign!  Here's a bit more - DISORDER, DELAYS MAR HAITI'S LONG
AWAITED ELECTIONS

And of course, the "fireworks" are sure going off as the U.S. prepares for the 2016 elections.  It's kind of fun to watch.   Take a look at this story - DONALD TRUMP STILL IN THE LEAD 'AFTER' THE DEBATE

Conventional "Political" wisdom would say...."Oh, that will kill the "Donald's" Campaign.  But he's still up in the polls.

Now, I don't know where this all going to lead, but....one thing is for sure, PEOPLE ARE UPSET WITH POLITICS AS USUAL!

As I read the Word of God, I'm comforted to know that God is in control.  Today, I'll seek to serve Him and do His will.  Yes, life goes on!!

THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with me.  We so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!

A SHINY RED TOOL BOX

Yesterday was a chore day.  Peter and I began by changing a burned out belt on our lawn tractor.

As I hunted and searched for the tools to complete this relatively simple task, I realized just what a "mess" our garage is.  Can you relate??

OK, I'll share something with you.  For some time, I've been "eyeing" a great tool box at Harbor Freight (no, this is not a plug for Harbor Freight).

I was quite familiar with this exact tool box, because we bought one for our hangar and Ti Burik (The Little Donkey) several years ago.

The thing that astounded me was, just what a good tool box it is and the price is crazy cheap.  Then....I got a flyer in the mail reducing the price even further ($159!!).  Now, for a quality tool box, that is a crazy low price.

One of the best ways to get a garage straightened up is to add a "Shiny New Red Tool Box" to it.  It just does something to our motivator.  So, late yesterday afternoon, I made the plunge and went to Harbor Freight and bought it.

Peter and I were up until 10:00pm last night building this beauty.  Now, I'll be going for a "tool treasure hunt" in my very disorganized garage.

Slowly, bit by bit, the garage will become more orderly.  It's amazing what a new tool box will do for you!!

As Peter and I were getting the lawn tractor up and going and the shiny red tool box made, our "Chicken Tractor" was slowly, methodically at work weeding and....fertilizing our garden, getting it ready for a fall crop.

You'll notice that I put a colorful top (an old swimming pool) on the "Chicken Tractor" to keep our "girls" cool.

Now, I know that things are "popping" politically in the U.S.  Donald Trump really "stepped in it" during the debates.  We knew that there would be plenty of fireworks in this upcoming election and we're not disappointed.

The Iran Nuclear deal is in deep jeopardy and the world economy is staggering.  And here I am talking about a "Shiny Red Tool Box" and a "Chicken Tractor".  The truth is....life goes on and we must be faithful and diligent to go about our business and above all, serve the Lord.

So, today, on this beautiful Sunday morning in America, we'll go to Church and then we'll be bringing the Good News of Jesus to both the young and adults at a Psychiatric Hospital in Orlando.

So, it's time to head out into this day that our Lord has made.  We'll rejoice and be glad in it.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and patient prayer, love and support.  THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with us. Glad you're aboard!!

WHAT IS A "CHICKEN TRACTOR"?

So, among our many projects, Cindy and I are trying out a "Chicken Tractor".  What, you might ask, is a Chicken Tractor?  I'll describe one to you.  First, one starts out with an overgrown garden that needs "weeding".

Next, we place our "Chicken Tractor", a smaller chicken coop with no bottom, directly into our over-grown garden.

We then, "borrow for the day", a couple of "volunteer" chickens (they really didn't volunteer) from our main chicken coop.

We then place them into our portable, bottomless smaller coop for the day and for a treat of some "fresh greens" (weeds to us).

Then, chickens do what chickens do.  They peck and pick, and clean up the the overgrown garden.

BTW, the yellow/orange chicken is called Cheddar. We've had her for over 6 years and she's still laying beautiful eggs for us.

She and her 2 sisters will help us weed our garden.  There, a full blown, step by step description of a "Chicken Tractor".

At the end of the day, we placed the volunteer chickens, who were full of fresh greens, back into their main coop.  We noted some progress on our "Chicken Tractor" project.

Today, we'll call for a couple of more "volunteers" and invite them to some fresh "veggies" and we'll slowly, but surely get our garden weeded by the our faithful chickens and our "Chicken Tractor".

Will also be working on our lawn tractor that has a burned out belt.  Oh, the "projects" never cease to end.

We're also gathering up more supplies for Haiti and beyond.  So, as I say every day and mean from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!

RESURRECTING AN OLD "LIFE BOAT"

12 years ago, Cindy and I took a "Home Equity Loan" out and bought a, then, old motor home.  It was a 1992 Fleetwood Bounder (Diesel Pusher).  Usually, those are quite "pricey", but we found a true deal and bought this old coach for a "steal".  We never regretted that purchase!!

We've long-since paid that loan off.  Several years ago, we donated the "Old Bounder" to Air Mobile.  It makes a great "Relief Vehicle" during disasters.  It has served others, following such storms as Katrina and Rita.

Needless to say, we love the Old Bounder.  We've had many a fine and enjoyable vacation and have gone from the Keys to Maine, to the Rockies and a hundreds of places in between.

Because we've been exceptionally busy lately, the Old Bounder just sat and was looking pretty forlorn and forgotten.  Well, yesterday morning, my Cindy said, "Why don't we take the Old Bounder out for a spin and have a nice weekend away before school starts?"

So, we spent yesterday pressure washing and vacuuming and cleaning and checking out the systems.  We have a few problem to work on, and we've already called a couple of friends who specialize in such matters.

In the meantime, I'd like to share a couple of shots of the old coach and a couple of thoughts or ideas with you.  First of all, a motorhome is an extraordinary "Life Boat" in the event of a disaster.  It contains all that one needs to escape or survive.

For example, we're coming into Hurricane Season here in Florida.  Now, I know it's been a while since one has hit, but that just means we're all the closer to the "big one".  It's always a good idea to have an "Evacuation (Escape) Plan".

NOTE:  This is not a "Sales Pitch".  The Bounder IS NOT for sale!

Here's a shot of the "Living Room" on the Bounder.  The sofa and breakfast nook becomes beds sleeping 4.

Now, the kitchen is quite adequate with a full stove, oven and microwave.  Nice to have when one is "evacuating".

BTW, we even have a specially modified "Rescuer" mounted under the sink so that we can make "clean" water on the run!!

Of course, it's always good to have a bathroom.  We even have a full tub inside.  Nice, luxurious touch.

In the back, is a full queen size bed in the Master Bedroom.   BTW, under that bed is the Cummins 5.9 Diesel engine.

There is a very adequate on-board water supply and it even has a 3 Cylinder Diesel Generator.  Now, these are very important elements during any disaster or evacuation.

One never knows when "Disasters" will strike.  Sometimes, we're given "warnings" and sometimes not.

Now, here's an idea.  You might want to just look around and see if there isn't an exceptional deal out there on an old motorhome.

Cindy and I have never, for a moment, regretted buying the "Old Bounder".  Yesterday was a true labor of love as we cleaned up the Bounder.  It is truly like "Resurrecting" a "Life-Boat".

Also, you may recall, The Hurston Family lived in the Old Bounder after our own home was destroyed by a water-line break.  And you may recall, Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover folks built a beautiful home for us.  All we can say is....God is good!!

Just thought I'd share these ideas with you.  No, I don't have any "inside" information about a disaster or such.  It's just a good idea to be ready and have a plan.

Well, today, my Cindy has come up with an idea called a "Chicken Tractor".  What, you might ask, is that?  I'll snap a few shots and tell you about it tomorrow.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

"SUPPORT NETWORK" - OLD FRIENDS!  DEBATES TONIGHT

The Lord has blessed me with an amazing "Support Network".  Among my dearest friends is Joe, who introduced me to Jesus 44 years ago, for which I am eternally grateful!

When Joe found Jesus as his personal Savior, he thought his best friend should get to know Jesus as he did.  He was persistent and relentless in his prayer for me and did not stop until I surrendered to Jesus also. "Friends don't let their friends 'go to hell'".  THANK YOU, Joe!

Yesterday evening, I met with Joe and his wife Diane.  Have known these 2 for nearly 50 years!

We get together regularly, just to see how we're doing.  It's also good to remember "from where we've come".  Jesus, coming into our lives, was a true "Game Changer".  We'll never go back!!

As I reflect on this great Salvation in Jesus, can't stop giving THANKS to Joe for leading me to Him!

Last night, we had such a good time just remembering so many things about how Jesus has changed our lives and how faithful He has been to us.  This is so strengthening to our faith!  Yes, it is a true "Support Network"!

Earlier, I met with Tommy Case, the son of Tom, another old friend.  Have known this young man since he was a teen-ager.  It was so good just studying the Bible together and looking at prophetic Scriptures that are coming to pass right before our eyes.

Have also been in touch with folks who are gathering baby food / formula and other vital supplies for Haiti.  Yes, we've hit the ground "running" since returning from the cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Cindy and I are also looking forward to the Republican Debates that begin this evening.  No question, Donald Trump has certainly "stirred things up".  He's saying things that most politicians "shy away from".  It's rather refreshing.  This is going to be a very interesting election season for sure.

Well, it's time to head out into this day.  We've got a lot of things to do.  Truly appreciate your prayer, love and support!!

THE LONG RIDE HOME

Cindy, Ariana and I made the trek back to Florida.  Thank God, the trip went smooth and there were no delays along the infamous I-95 (known for accident delays).  We never take this trip for granted.  After 13 hours of driving, we pulled into our home driveway around midnight.

It was good see Peter.  He'd just returned from his Mexico Mission.  He had a good report.  One of his primary goals was to be sure that the 2 Air Mobile Rescuers that we'd donated were running properly.

He was able to train additional operators and assure clean water for the mission and the surrounding area.  Here, Anna, one of the team members is taking very dirty water and making it very clean with the help of a Rescuer.

Speaking of Peter, he'll be moving into his dorm at Florida Institute of Technology in a few days.  My....how that boy has grown.  He's now 6'2" and growing!

He's also grown up in the ministry conducting services nearly every week of his life at the Hospital in Orlando and he's also seen the Air Mobile Rescuer develop from an "idea" to a "reality".

In addition to the Mexico Mission this summer, Peter also went to India with our Air Mobile Team.  Here, you can see just how tall he's gotten as he stands next to Cindy in Dubai.  We're very thankful, Peter truly loves the Lord!

This morning, I'll be bringing a load of "Rescuer Components" to our Air Mobile headquarters.  Have also received a full "Weather Reporting Station" for Medor in Haiti.

Speaking of Haiti, it's getting time think about our "next mission"....wherever that might be.  But, I figure Haiti plays somewhere into the formula.

I'll also be meeting with Tommy Case, Jr., the son of Tom Case, a long-time friend.  We'll be meeting for breakfast to discuss "The Signs of the Times".  Looking forward to seeing the son of an old friend.

Time for that second cup of coffee and heading out into this beautiful, warm Florida morning. Who knows what our Lord has in store.  Mmmmm, we'll see.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!!

FULL HOUSE & OBAMA DETAINS 27 CHRISTIAN ASYLUM SEEKERS

We're so glad that Mark & Ava and their 4 girls arrived safe and sound yesterday.  We had another friend, Jimmie over and all the kids had a blast from hiking to swimming to smores.

We're THANKFUL for this "Retreat" in the mountains of East Tennessee!!  It's very nice to have a "place to go" for rest and solitude and peace.

Many, around the world DO NOT have that gift.  I just came across this story about 27 Christians who escaped ISIS and horrifying persecution and....now, they're being detained (jailed) by I.C.E. (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) in California.

OK, so I.C.E. can release tens of thousands of known criminals, but these Iraqi Christians are being held under bizarre circumstances.  This appears to be a case of "Selective Enforcement"!!

Here's the story and brace yourself, it will likely upset you as it has upset me - FLEEING ISIS, THEY FIND NO REFUGE IN THE U.S.!!

There is no questions, Christians are being persecuted world-wide and this persecution has increased DRAMATICALLY in the U.S. over the last few years.  The Obama Administration abandons Christians again and again and again!

Folks, it is time for the Church to wake  up to what is happening and raise our voices in defense of the "Persecuted Christians around the world & also in America"!!

That is why I am sharing this story with you today.  If no one says anything, or if this story continues to be buried (as it obviously is), then we won't even know about it or even have the opportunity to PRAY for the persecuted.

Remember, when we PRAY things happen!  (PRAYER IS POWERFUL)  Our Lord hears our prayers.  So, today, please PRAY that these 27 Christians, languishing in "detainment" (jailed), will be set free! Also pray for our Government, that it will cease ignoring what is happening to Christians all over the world!!

Well, today, Cindy, Ariana and I will be heading back to Florida.  Please pray that we have a safe journey home.  We're sad to be leaving this beautiful retreat. We're turning the keys over to Mark and his family who will be enjoying this place for the next week or so.

We're also very happy that our Peter has returned from a very successful mission to Mexico. We're excited to get his report.  So, as always, THANK YOU for your faithful and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING!

I'm pleased to tell you that our ride to the E.R. yesterday morning, with Melanie (our guest) turned out OK.  She does have some damage to her foot and ankle. Prayer and time will take care of that.

They, she and Michael, did return to their home in Murfreesboro, TN., yesterday afternoon safe and sound.  Melanie is resting comfortably.  Please remember her in your prayer.

In this life, "Stuff" happens.  When it does, it's always good to simply take it to Jesus and lay it at His feet.  He's always there for us.  He promised to NEVER leave us or forsake us.  THANK YOU, JESUS!

Speaking of....Jesus NEVER LEAVING US....have you been hearing about all of the things that are happening in September and specifically on September 23rd?

We've been hearing bits and pieces for some time now, from the 4th Blood Moon to the Pope visiting Philadelphia and comets or asteroids coming and on and on.

Last night, Cindy and I did a rather serious search on-line.  There is no question, many things seem to coinciding with these dates. This brings us to....what shall we do?

First of all, we are not panicking.  We're simply living our lives and seeking His direction daily.

There is NO QUESTION that Jesus is coming back to this earth.  HE PROMISED TO DO SO and we believe that each day that passes brings us one day closer to that day.

We also believe that, as Jesus said in Matthew 24, no man knows the day or the hour.  However, we certainly can recognize the SEASON!  Jesus also gave us many, many signs to look for and when we see them, know that our REDEMPTION DRAWS NIGH!

All of these things bring us to the need to be sensitive to His voice and to seek His direction every day.  Cindy and I are determined to STAY ALERT to both His Voice in our lives as well as looking at the many signs that are coming up on the screen almost every day.

Guess what?  There is nothing profound about this admonition.  We should always live our lives in this way.  The truth is, we need Jesus in our lives and He will always be there to help us each step of the way.

Meanwhile, we have more guests arriving at the Air Mobile Retreat Cabin today.  It is Mark and his family.  Mark's Dad, Joe, introduced me to Jesus 43 years ago.  It will be such a joy spending some time with Mark and his beautiful family.

I must admit, I got a little "preachy" today.  Please bear with me.  Also, you might want to Google September 23rd, and just see what folks are saying may be coming our way.  It never hurts to cast an eye on the events taking place.  I believe that our Lord is coming soon and yes, we do want to be ready to meet Him!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious, vital and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

TAKING A RIDE TO THE E.R.

Woke up early this morning to meet with Michael our guest.  His wife, Melanie twisted her ankle this morning and we're headed to the E.R. to get it checked out.

Cindy, who is an excellent nurse, has cared for Melanie and getting her ready for the ride to the E.R.  PLEASE remember to pray for Melanie that a complete healing takes place.

This is a very abbreviated blog this morning.  Will write more later.  THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

THE PLACE TO BE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT...IN THE MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE

We awaited the arrival of our new friends, Michael and Melanie from Nashville.  Michael was a Pastor for nearly 40 years and recently retired.  He has a heart to help people going through "tough times".  He and Melanie are our "kind of folks".

Michael and I have been communicating via e-mail and phone for several months.  We invited he and Melanie to come on over and stay in our new "little cabin" and have dinner with us at the "River Place on the Clinch River".

The Friday night special is grilled steak and the "fix-ins".  While awaiting the food to arrive we just had a wonderful time talking and getting to know one another.  Cindy and Melanie really hit it off.

In the background was a genuine "Blue Grass" band playing classic "East Tennessee Music" with the banjos and all.  Oh, it was a beautiful evening.

Yes, we all agreed, there was no finer place to be on Friday night in Kyles Ford, TN than at the River Place on the Clinch River.

BTW, if you've ever read Louis L'Amour (the great Western writer) he writes about the Sackett Family from Clinch River.  This "neck of the woods" is sure rich in history and "tough folks"!

Back to Michael and Melanie.  Michael just happened to catch the Hurston Family on Extreme Makeover Family Edition several years ago.  He couldn't get us out his mind.  One day, he simply phoned me.  We immediately struck it off.

He is fascinated by the Air Mobile Rescuer and what a "Game Changer" the little miracle machine is in a disaster.  So, for the next few days, we'll be planning and praying about how our Lord can use us when truly "hard times come".

Looking forward to the fellowship, prayers and coming up with good ideas to help folks in hard times.  Besides, we're glad that we've already put the "Little Cabin" to good use.

Folks, all I can say is THANK YOU for joining on this meandering road through life.  We so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!
