Thought I'd share this timely "Weather Channel" clip on BEING PREPARED.

Though the "Weather Channel" and many skilled forecasters do an excellent job of "predicting" what a Hurricane will do, there is always the great possibility of last minute changes.

Over the years, I personally witnessed this "Rapid Intensification" and the deadly consequences of not EVACUATING.

We are so THANKFUL that many heeded the call to EVACUATE and as a result, there has been little loss of life from Hurricane Idalia.

PRAISE GOD!!!!

After Idalia passed through Georgia & South Carolina, dumping a lot of rain, it is now out to sea off the Carolina Coast.

So today, we're enjoying our baby ducks and especially little Sunshine.

And our new little baby donkey whom we've just named "Onyx".

HURRICANE IDALIA STRENGTHENING... INTO A VERY DANGEROUS STORM!

Folks, Hurricane Idalia is headed for Florida with a possible STORM SURGE of 12' AT LANDFALL. That kind of surge is DEADLY!

If you are anywhere near the "Projected Path" (Especially near LANDFALL), PLEASE EVACUATE NOW!!

Over the years, I've been through many hurricanes and many times, have not hesitated to EVACUATE!!

Simply put, it is NOT worth it to "RIDE IT OUT". Too many folks have lost their lives by not EVACUATING!

Florida can be difficult to evacuate from (only a few North-South roads) IF one waits to the last minute. Again, IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

Meanwhile, we PRAY for all in the path of Hurricane Idalia.

Also, Air Mobile is getting ready with "Rescuer" water purifiers, if they prove to be needed.

We're keeping a very close eye on Idalia. This "Tropical Storm" is strengthening as I type and may hit the Florida West Coast as a Cat 3 Hurricane.

Tidal surge could be 11+ feet at landfall!

CINDY TO THE "RESCUE".....

As you may know, we incubate duck eggs to add to our little flock.

For 28 days, Cindy watched over this batch, making sure the temperature, humidity and constant slow rolling took place.

Our first 4 ducks came out right on schedule. The 5th duck was "stuck" but still alive. Cindy, very carefully eased out this little one but it looked very weak and frankly....was not going to make it.

Well, here's Cindy telling the story of "Little Sunshine".

And here's little Sunshine strutting her stuff and healthy & strong.

We now have 20 ducks and we're building a lovely duck pond for them.

Just another lovely, restful day at our "Retreat Cabin".

GATHERING THOUGHTS.....

Sitting here at the "Retreat Cabin", my mind and heart goes to Maui & Haiti. We PRAY for those who are suffering and those who are fleeing....in HARMS WAY!

We're PRAYING about what course to take. Please join us in PRAYER that we follow our Lord's footsteps.

In the meantime, Cindy and I are both heading to PT this morning, which is going quite well.

I must admit, it is so good to be home on our little farm. Love all our "critters", horses, donkeys, deer, ducks, dogs, cats, turkeys, rabbits & who knows what else.

I know, we'll be out on another "Relief Mission" sooner than later.

For now, we'll just enjoy life here at the "Retreat Cabin" and REST & RECHARGE.

We're planning to return to Maui with 10 more "Rescuers". Here's a story that ran on NBC Channel 10 Knoxville last night :

EAST TN MAN RETURNS HOME AFTER DELIVERING WATER PURIFICATION SUPPLIES TO MAUI FOLLOWING TERRIBLE FIRES

Please join us in PRAYER for our Lord's divine direction as to when we return to Maui.

In the meantime, we're PRAYING for Haiti where Mirlande & Lucian & 40 women and children have fled a GANG ATTACK.

They are in a safe place in an undisclosed location. We PRAY for their continued PROTECTION against marauding GANGS!

A DELEGATION FROM KENYA LEAVES HAITI. WILL IT'S PROPOSAL BE EFFECTIVE AGAINST THE GANGS?

The rest is doing me good. Had a good PT (Physical Therapy) session yesterday, as did my Cindy. She is progressing well in her recovery as am I.

PRAYING FOR HAITI....

PLEASE join together with Cindy and I in PRAYER for Haiti!

As you know, from yesterday's Blog, that Mirlande & Lucien and a bunch of kids had to FLEE RUUSKA VILLAGE DUE TO A GANG ATTACK!

They are in a SAFE PLACE in the Provinces (undisclosed location for Security) right now.

PLEASE PRAY that the local Police secure RUUSKA VILLAGE allowing them to return.

This situation is very volatile and they need our PRAYERS!!

As you may know, RUUSKA VILLAGE has also been the "Base for Air Mobile Ministries" in Haiti in Coordination with Barbara Walker and "Reach Out to Haiti".

We have been able to deploy 350+ Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers based out of this great village. Thousands in Haiti have CLEAN WATER as a result.

HOME AT LAST.....

I drove up to the "Retreat Cabin" just before 4:00 PM yesterday afternoon. This rapid journey to Maui has come to a successful end.

Oh, it's so good to see my Cindy and Ari. Cindy is still in the middle of intense PT (Physical Therapy). She's recovering quite well and right on schedule.

Ari has been an amazing and loving care-giver. At the same time, she's a full time student and has handled the many chores here at our little farm.

I'm just glad to be home!

HAITI GANG ATTACK UPDATE:

I'm checking on Mirlande and Lucien and all of those with them 'FLEEING the GANGS!'

I'm seeking ways we can help in addition to PRAYER! I'll let you know when I do. At any rate, I must be very discreet about anything I write....until they are out of harms way.

I just spoke with Mirlande a few moments ago. They are currently in a SAFE PLACE and "laying low".

We are so THANKFUL that apart from Lucien being shot, (he received medical attention and is doing ok), no one else has been injured.

We are working on ways to get them help, but cannot disclose any of our plans for obvious security reasons.

HEADING HOME.....URGENT CALL FROM HAITI MOMENTS AGO....

After that long "Red Eye" flight (Maui - LAX - ORLANDO) I hit the road for home.....knowing I'd find a place to lay my weary head.

By the time I hit South Carolina, I was beginning to "drift". Time to pull in. Found a comfortable bed at a Hampton Inn & a good nights sleep.

Up early, having my 2nd cup and about to hit the road for home. Sure have missed my Cindy and Ari.

The images of the horrible fires and the many stories of those who have lost EVERYTHING, along with the steadily climbing death toll, will forever be with me. My heart is broken for the suffering.

URGENT UPDATE!!!

JUST MOMENTS AGO.... I got an urgent call from Mirlande, our dear friend living in the "Village" in Bon Repos, Haiti that Barbara Walker built.

GANGS OVER-RAN THE VILLAGE AND THEY SHOT LUCIEN, MIRLAND'S HUSBAND.

He is being treated and will, hopefully, survive. Mirlande, Lucien and 40 women & children living in the village have FLED for their lives!

They have fled to an undisclosed location in the provinces.

FOLKS, this terrible tragedy is unfolding as I write. I am praying about what to do help them at this extremely dangerous moment.

TOUCH DOWN ON THE U.S. MAINLAND....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Yesterday morning, Todd and I boarded a Delta Flight from Maui to LAX, then LAX - Orlando.

We literally flew all night long. Good to be headed home.

Todd cashed in a couple of his personal Delta Upgrades and got us First Class coming home. My knee, especially, gives thanks to Todd!

Now, I have a 12 hour drive to the "Retreat Cabin".

Folks, our hearts have been touched by the kindness and generosity of our Hawaiian Brothers & Sisters caring for their own. We saw so many acts of kindness and love.

It has been such a joy working together with them. We were able to deploy all 10 "Rescuers" into hot-spots.

Now, I'm glad to be headed home to my Cindy and Ari. I'll resume my PT (Physical Therapy) for my knee replacement.

BTW, I've been able to walk, but slowly. I'm still healing.

10 "RESCUERS" DELIVERED & OPERATORS TRAINED....OUR FINAL DAY ON MAUI

We spent yesterday training YWAM Crew on the "Rescuer" Operation.

We also met with the West Maui Community Aid staff and trained them on the operation of the "Rescuer".

In that meeting we met Sil Wong, the President of Empact International. This organization trains the trainers for Emergency Disaster Relief.

Sil immediately recognized the value of the Rescuer and joined in the training session.

BTW, Air Mobile donated 2 "Rescuers" to Empact International.

Empact International along with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) will be going deep into the disaster zones, long after we're gone.

Still, many areas of Lahaina are blocked off, as the recovery of bodies is still taking place. Nearly 1000 are still missing!

WE PRAY for all who have been so impacted by these terrible fires.

This morning, Todd and I will be catching a flight to Los Angeles and then to Orlando. We'll be in the air all day and most of the night.

This has been a painful, but rewarding mission. Both I and the people of MAUI say THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

4 RESCUERS DEPLOYED & GOING INTO HOT SPOTS!

As we left the beauty of Maui....on the other side of the terrible fires, we drove by the burned out sections of Lahaina.

As we drove down the burn destruction, Power lines are being repaired as folks try desperately to return to normality.

In the middle of it all, I had a friend of a friend who gave me the name of a local business man who was putting together "Teams" to go to the deepest water needs.

We arrived at Cayce Smythe's business, close to the fires and met his teams.

I quickly set up and demonstrated the amazing Air Mobile Rescuer, at the same time, training the operators "on the spot"!

The Teams are "Ready to Go!"

We then, with great JOY, presented 4 Air Mobile Rescuers going to 4 Deployment Teams!!

Today, we'll be linking up again with Operation Blessing and YWAM for more deployments!

Folks, I can't begin to tell you how much I, and the people of Maui appreciate your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

AIR MOBILE ON MAUI!!!

Yesterday afternoon, Todd and I along with a YWAM Team arrived at the Airport on Kona.

We're so THANKFUL for HAWAIIAN AIRLINES for accepting all of our cargo, including 10 Air Mobile Rescuers AT NO CHARGE to fly to Maui.

We boarded our flight, with a sigh of relief that our mission was proceeding ahead right on course and right on time!!

40 Minutes later....WE TOUCHED DOWN ON MAUI!!

We then secured all of our cargo, including the 10 Air Mobile Rescuers and went to our Airbnb to rest for the evening.

It's been a long journey to get here and we're so THANKFUL for your prayer, love and support!

We're up early this morning (remember there is a 6 hour time difference between Maui and the U.S. East Coast).

We're about to head out to meet our YWAM Team and begin finding sources of water and making it clean!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

AIR MOBILE IN HAWAII - KONA

After nearly 12 hours of flying (Orlando - Seattle - Kona) Todd and I landed on Kona.

We were met by Brian, a YWAM Volunteer. YWAM gave us nice room at the WYAM Ship Base.

After a brief rest, we met with WYAM Staff who had just come from Maui, along with Operation Blessing members.

We discussed the situation "On the Ground" on Maui as well as a number of deep problems these dreadful fires have dredged up.

This info is critical to both our success and safety. The air and water is heavily polluted by dangerous chemicals. Our "Rescuer" is designed to takes these out.

After our meeting, Todd and I re-packaged the 10 Rescuers for our next leg, Maui.

Today, we're flying to Maui equipped with current and vital info.

MOVING CLOSER TO MAUI....

Yesterday, we loaded up the Air Mobile Rescuers in their "shipping containers" and did the final pack and load.

This morning, we'll be departing Melbourne and catching a flight from Orlando to Kona, Hawaii.

There, we'll meet with the YWAM team and establish our strategy to place 10 Air Mobile Rescuers in the best locations on Maui.

So far, we are right on schedule for this "Mission".

Channel 13 Spectrum did a quick interview as we were preparing the Rescuers.

TN - FL.....THEN KONA, THEN MAUI

After a long 14 hour drive, I finally arrived at my son Peter's place in Titusville, FL and "crashed" on a sofa.

Up early this morning. After coffee and the rambling blog, I'll meet my team member, Todd Hillhouse at the Space Coast Regional airport.

There, we'll load and pack and secure our 10 Air Mobile Rescuers for the long flight from Orlando to Seattle to Kona and then....to Maui.

We've secured a place to stay with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Kona.

Then, if all goes as planned, we'll fly to Maui and search out the "Hot Spots" that need Clean Water.

We're particularly BLESSED to be working with YWAM, an AMAZING organization who knows Hawaii EXTREMELY WELL!

YWAM already has a team on the ground in Maui. This will make our "Rescuer" deployments more effective.

The dangers in the air and water and even in intact buildings are great!

AIR MOBILE HEADING TO FLORIDA THEN MAUI!

As the news came in following the horrible wild fires that destroyed parts of Maui, it became evident that....AIR MOBILE HAD TO GO!!

The need for CLEAN WATER is becoming CRITICAL in the aftermath of those fires. The entire "Water Infra-structure" has been severely damaged.

Not only is the "NO DRINK" warning in place, but "NO BOILING" is in place due to so many chemicals in the water. The Air Mobile Rescuer takes care of that!

CATCHING UP.....& PRAY FOR MAUI!

Spent yesterday in the Air Mobile Office. It's good to work on catching up on paper work, receipting, correspondence, paying bills, etc.

First time I've been able to actually walk over to the office since my knee-replacement surgery.

Folks, it is so good being able to walk (without excruciating pain) again!!

And, I'm pleased to say that my Cindy is recovering well and making steady progress. THANK YOU for your prayers for us.

PRAISE GOD for good RECOVERY!!

A FOGGY MORNING....

Here on this foggy morning, in the mountains of East TN, Cindy and I both are making wonderful progress following our surgeries.

Soon, we'll be able to travel and minister bringing in the Good News of Jesus and sharing His love with the suffering.

Here's our latest project here at the "Retreat Cabin".

We needed a small basement for shelter in the event of a tornado or other severe weather.

Here's a better view of where it will be attached to our "Retreat Cabin".

BTW, we're also building a ground floor bedroom on top of the basement for Cindy and I.

Well, it's time to go feed our critters and get on with the daily chores.

CHORES & MORE.....

Just being able to walk and climb stairs and wrangle critters with my new knee is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I am so THANKFUL that our Lord has given man wisdom and ability to heal the sick and lame. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!

Meanwhile, Cindy's recovery from shoulder surgery is progressing wonderfully. She still has a way to go in her PT.

Now, from a political view, in my humble opinion....don't take too much about POLLS!

They change from day to day and we can easily be manipulated by them.

Cindy and I PRAY for our LORD TO HAVE HIS WAY with all of this.

In the meantime, we're preparing for some difficult times ahead. We're stocking up on food and other provisions.

We're making good progress on our small basement & additional downstairs bedroom. This will give us good and safe shelter in severe storms.

Time to get on with this day that our Lord has made!

A LOVELY SUNSET....

While walking on our deck, I glanced to the west and saw this lovely sunset.

Had to capture it and share it with you.

In the midst of all of the turmoil in this old world, we're ever reminded of God's ever present love and beauty.

Cindy and I are daily getting stronger. We know that soon we'll be back into the battle bringing the love of God and clean water to the thirsty.

For now, we'll continue to recuperate and regain our strength.

THANKFUL FOR HEALING...

Cindy's shoulder (following her surgery) is healing. My knee (following my surgery) is healing. And even our little donkey (Emerald) is healing.

All we can say is PRAISE YOU JESUS, OUR HEALER!

On this Sunday morning, we're getting ready for church and will dodge some strong thunderstorms along the way.

GOOD REPORT ON EMERALD & ENLARGING OUR BRIDGE

We're very pleased to say that our little donkey, Emerald is doing much better today.

In addition to a lot of prayer, our Vet sent over some good anti-biotic.

I know, according to "His eye is on the sparrow", He's also watching over little donkeys.

At the same time, we're enlarging our bridge, allowing larger vehicle to come up to our Retreat Cabin.

So glad we met Norman who has the skill and tools to do this important job.

Again, I'm reminded of the wise words spoken to me many years ago by my first Pastor, Roy Stockstill..."Remember son, God knows how to deploy His troops".

Time to check on the bridge project. As always, thank you for your faithful love, prayer & support!

PRAYING FOR A LITTLE DONKEY....

Cindy and I adopted 2 little Jerusalem donkeys several years ago. We immediately fell in love with Jasper, the Jack & Emerald the Jenny.

They are just wonderful and they keep the cayotes away.

Recently, Emmy began to limp. We called our Vet and had her checked out. She was OK for a week or so, but then began limp badly.

We called the vet and began to pray hard for Emmy. We believe that these little donkeys are very special in the eyes of God.

It was a little donkey that carried Mary, heavy with child, to Bethlehem. It was a little donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem.

And all throughout the Bible are stories of little donkeys.

We even named our little airplane Ti Burik (The little Donkey).

Well yesterday, Emmy began to get a little better. We continue to pray for our sweet Emmy, who is BTW, also heavy with a baby donkey.

We PRAISE GOD for this improvement.

Join us in prayer for our sweet little donkey, Emmy.

WE "PT" TOGETHER...

As I am recovering from my knee-replacement surgery and Cindy from her shoulder surgery, we both need a lot of Physical Therapy (PT).

We are THANKFUL for the Hancock Medical Hospital that helps us to do our PT at the sa.me time.

Here at the Retreat Cabin, there are always chores to be done.

On this rainy morning, we have Moses, our great Ferrier doing the hooves on our horses & donkeys. He does a great job.

INSIDE HAITI....DEVASTATING DARKNESS & CRUELTY!

We've been following the Kidnapping of the American Nurse and her child in Haiti. Our hearts break, not only for this kidnapping, but for all of Haiti.

I've been in close contact with missionaries operating in Haiti, and the stories of darkness and cruelty and absolutely savage terrorism inflicted upon innocent Haitians is beyond description.

Folks, PLEASE PRAY for HAITI!
