PASSPORT TODAY....

This morning, I'll be meeting with the U.S. Passport Office to get my Passport renewed.  Having a fresh passport will assist me to enter into Myanmar.

The next step will be securing the Humanitarian Visa.  That request is in the works.  WE PRAY that it goes through!

Now, the situation for milllions in Myanmar is becoming more dire by the hour.  The hope of rescue is rapidly fading.  The need for CLEAN WATER is everywhere.

The tragedy is further exacerbated by the coming Monsoons.  This situation is becoming more desperate by the hour!

STRAIGHT TO THE MYANMAR CONSULATE....

I hit the road bright and early yesterday morning and drove 8 hours directly from our "Retreat Cabin" to the Myanmar Consulate in Downtown Washington DC.  

I remember being in this same Consuluate building a number of years ago following a deadly Typhoon that killed hundreds of thousands.

The Myanmar Consular Officer that I met with briefly was courteous and thankful for the help that we are bringing in the gift of CLEAN WATER!

An official appointment has been set for today for me to apply for and receive (hopefully),  my Humanitarian Visa.  This will make bringing in the 10 Air Mobile Rescuers to Myanmar so much easier.  PRAISE GOD!

Now, the next obstacle to overcome is to get my Passport renewed.  Of course, you may recall, though my Passport was still current, it was within 6 months of renewal meaning that it would not allow me to get into Myanamar.  

I am so pleased to say that after extensive conversations with the U.S. State Department, I have an appointment set up for SAME DAY passport renewal while I am in Washington DC.  The appointment is set up for tomorrow morning.  THANK YOU STATE DEPARTMENT!!

Cindy urged me to take a little time, between meetings while in DC to enjoy the cherry blossoms that are in full bloom.

I'll also slip over to one of my all-time favorite museums...The National Air & Space Museum.  It's been newly renovated.  I love this place!

  

Meanwhile, the situation in Myanmar is dire! The death toll is rapidly rising over 2700 and still climbing.  Millions are without food and water.

I am VERY EAGER to get to Myanmar, but....I must get the Humanitarian Visa and renewed passport in-hand before I can go.  THANKFULLY, the pieces are coming together.

DASHING TO DC...DODGING STORMS ALONG THE WAY

Up early and hitting the road for Washington DC.  There, I will be able to process my passport renewal.  

I will then meet with the Myanmar Consulate to secure a HUMANITARIAN VISA.  This will enable us to get to the hardest hit areas and bring in CLEAN WATER where desperately needed!

My route to DC by road  parallels the severe WX.  I should be able to maneuver around it.

The situation in Myanmar is dire as time is running out for those trapped beneath the rubble.

Earthquakes are still shaking the whole region.  WE PRAY and ask our Lord to use us for His Glory!!

IT'S OFFICIAL....AIR MOBILE IS GOING TO MYANMAR! DEATH TOLL RISING!

After careful & prayerful consideration I have decided to GO TO MYANMAR!

I can tell you from experience Myanmar is a difficult, complicated and dangerous "Mission".  For that reason, I will be omitting certain details for security reasons.

As I shared yesterday, I will be needing to get an immediate renewal of my passport.  This will likely require a trip to Washington DC to get this expediated.  

I'll also endeavor to meet with the Myanmar Consulate in DC to get an expediated Humanitarian Visa to bring life-saving Air Mobile Rescuer Water Purifiers where desperately needed!

GETTING READY TO TRAVEL...

The MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE that struck Myanmar & Thailand  2 days ago, has taken THOUSANDS of lives & INJURED 10's of THOUSANDS . The depth & scope of the disaster is STAGGERING!

One of the first things I did was check my passport's expiration date.  To get a visa into Myanmar or Thaitland, the expiration date MUST be 6 months or more.  Mine expires May 28, 2025.  

I MUST get my PASSPORT RENEWED IMMEDIATLEY as...I am planning to BRING CLEAN WATER to the desperate & needy!

Meanwhile, the DEATH TOLL is climbing rapidly as reports come in from many structures that have been destroyed from this massive quake.

So, my work is cut out for me.  Get my passport renewed IMMEDIATELY and build and get funding for at least 10 Air Mobile Rescuers and more if possible.

BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES...

It's a good time, before the BAD WX arrives to get ready and secure our "Retreat Cabin" for the weekend storms.

I'm THANKFUL for good WX tracking, giving adequate time to get ready.

And...if the WX turns out to be not as bad as forecast then...PRAISE GOD for the preparation exercise.

Frankly, Cindy and I are ready for some mild, non-violent WX.

We are beginning to see bits of "Spring" beginning to pop up here and there.  We love this "neck of the woods."

MORE BAD WX COMING...

So much for "In Like Lion, Out Like A Lamb".  March has just been a tough month with a lot of bad WX and it's not over.

Here's what we can expect this weekend: WEEKEND SEVERE STORM, TORNADO THREAT FOR MISSISSIPPI VALLEY

It's just a good reminder to both keep a close watch out, have a good WX Radio (most cell phones give good alerts) and have a PLAN if dangerous WX is coming your way.

Meanwhile, we're putting our cabin back together.  

Had to completely replace the roof on our new addition due to recent high wind damage.  That's where the major flooding took place.

HOMEWARD BOUND...

After dropping Ariana at her Dorm in Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL, we hit the road for our "Retreat Cabin" in TN.

After a few "road delays" along I-95, and the setting sun, we pulled into a Hampton Inn in Yamassee, SC.

I'd like to say just how much I appreciate our good roads and the basic law & order & the FREEDOM that we have in America!  

May we never take it for granted.  GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Yesterday evening we got together at our daughter, Cherie's home along with Kyle and their kids.   

We were joined by Christian & Anne Marie and their kids.

I am a BLESSEED man and so THANKFUL for my wonderful family!!

Today, we'll be dropping Ariana off at her dorm in Florida Tech!  

We're so proud of her!  And....she loves her car!

Today, Cindy and I will hit the road back to our sweet "Retreat Cabin".  This has been a wonderful "Get-Away"!!

A LITTLE BUSINESS ALONG THE WAY...

Even though we're on this little "Get Away" and enjoying our time with our kids and grandkids, it's nice to do a little business along the way.

Yesterday began with a "Zoom" call with S.I.L. including Craig Clendenin and Kwazi Bouri.  It was a productive call that will hopefully yield more CLEAN WATER for desperate, thirsty folks.

While I was doing a little Air Mobile business, Cindy and Ari were enjoying catching some "Rays" at Cocoa Beach.

I then headed South to Palm Bay and met with Joe of GEI.  This company can make special clean water containers to fit Air Mobile's needs on mission deployments.

This could enhance our mission capabilities.

Then, it was back to Titusville to have dinner with my good friend, Chuck Fulmer at the "Blue Heron" in the "Great Outdoors Resort".  Good to see Chuck.

And tonight, we'll be having dinner with Cherie and Christian and our grandkids!  Going to be  delightful being with family!

Tomorrow, we head back to Tennessee.  This has been a fun and enjoyable and fruitful "Get-Away"!

We discussed the need for clean water around the Globe.  Thus, this upcoming Zoom meeting.

A UNIVERSAL EXPERIENCE...& SPLASH-DOWN!!

Yesterday, we were joined by Peter, our son and Nylees (Ari's long-time friend).  

With FREE tickets in hand (thanks to Peter's friend), we headed to UNIVERSAL - Orlando.

All I can say is...we had a great time!

Meanwhile, just to the East of us, at Universal, another, extraordinary "Mission" played-out with the flawless Splash-down of our 2 Astronauts, Butch & Suni. 

They returned to Earth after spending 9 months "Stranded in Space"!

BRAVO to Elon Must and the entire SpaceX Team for this amazing "RESCUE"!

Well, here we are in Florida with our family and friends, just enjoying life!

A QUICK VISIT TO THE "LITTLE DONKEY" - ARIANA GETS A CAR & DINNER WITH DEAR FRIENDS

Yesterday, I went to the airport in Titusville to check on the progress on the Little Donkey (Ti Burik).  

All of the sheet metal repair has been completed and now we await the repaired and inspected front & rear engines.  Folks, I can hardly wait to fly the Little Donkey again!

Meanwhile, Ariana received a great gift.  We bought her this 2009 Chevy Malibu from Sandra, a dear friend of ours.  

Here is the moment Ari got the keys to this sweet car.

Our dear friends, Lisa and April Menendez, joined us for a wonderful Greek Dinner.  So good seeing Lisa & April again.

Today, thanks to Peter's friends, we're all going to Universal in Orlando...all FREE thanks to Peter & company.

OUT RAN OUT-BREAKS!

Yesterday, we departed Guyton, GA (very close to Savannah).  We immediately began to get TORNADO WARNINGS on our phone as we dashed down I-95 headed for Florida.

Before departing "Claudette's Bed & Breakfast" we realized that we needed to get on the road ASAP!  The line of Tornadoes was getting very close to us.

We had a quick and very delicious breakfast knowing that that line of deadly tornadoes was getting closer and closer.

Once on the road, we could track the line of tornadoes just west of our position.  Cindy kept our speed up getting us further from the line of storms.

We could see the live radar and knew as soon as we crossed the GA/FL border we'd be safe.

After crossing the line and made it into Melbourne, we were safe.

However, that deadly line has already killed 40 and the death toll is still climbing!

We PRAY for those who have been and are now facing these deadly storms.

TORNADOES "OUTBREAK"....DEATH TOLL 33 & CLIMBING!!

Yesterday, Cindy and I departed TN for FL.  Behind us, we left a deadly line of Thunder Storms which were packed with deadly tornadoes!

The DEATH-TOLL is 33 and climbing.  We PRAY for all in the path of these storms.

Gusty winds winds rocked us as we pressed on southeastward staying just ahead of the deadly storms.

Last night, Cindy and I pulled up to "Claudette's Bed & Breakfast" in Guyton, GA.  This lovely B&B was built in 1868 and restored beautifully.

It's too bad that we don't have time to explore this wonderful & historic home.  We've got to keep moving south.

We're up early, and packing to hit the road and continue to stay ahead of these deadly storms. I'm pointing to our approximate location in Georgia.

It appears that we may just have the beginnings of a PEACE deal in Ukraine with the acceptance of a 30 DAY CEASE FIRE by Ukraine.  

Now, the ball is in Russia's court.  WE PRAY!!

Meanwhile, talks are taking place between Israel and Hamas.  Too early to tell if progress is being made in this terrible war.  Again, WE PRAY!

STILL COUNTING.....

Early yesterday morning, I "whipped out" my Prayer Journal and began making a "List of Blessings".  It seems the more Blessings we identify & count, the more Blessings we receive.

This simple act, of counting our many blessings, drives discouragement and fear away! 

I find myself humming and singing that wonderful song all throughout the day.

I feel that there are some,  who are reading this blog, who need to hear this message again today.

Again, may I encourage you to open up your heart,  and look around and identify those many blessings and write them down, listing them one by one.  The Lord will surely continue to pour out His Blessings upon you.

I am so appreciative to have you walking down this road of life with me.  GOD BLESS YOU!!

AWAKENED AT 3:00 AM....

Sometimes, I just wake up in the wee-hours, like 3:00 AM, and deal with a lot of thoughts that prevent me from going back to sleep. 

The jumble of thoughts just torments me.  I can't make a call because it's way too early.  So, I just lay there wrestling until....I remember this song...

"Count your Many Blessings, name them one by one....."

I took out my PRAYER JOURNAL and started writing them one by one.  I'm now up to 30 and still counting.  

The TORMENT has left, and JOY is filling my soul.

Next time you wake up and can't go back to sleep due to tormenting thoughts, try this....  "COUNT YOUR MANY BLESSINGS & SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE"!

       

Believe me, it WORKS!  Just thought I'd share this with you today.

And just like that, the hour vanished and we have to adjust our lives to absorb the difference.

So, on this beautiful Sunday morning, we're absorbing the time change and getting ready for church.

How long will this crazy "Daylight Saving Time" go on?

Maybe "Common Sense" will abolish it and it will just become a memory.

Time to go let the ducks out and feed the horses and donkeys.  I wonder how they are dealing with this time warp change?

Our little town of Sneedville has it's share of colorful folks.  This gentleman, who looks a whole lot like Abe, has just as many colorful stories.

We love our community and we're THANKFUL our Lord put us here.

DEAR LORD, GIVE ME THE WORDS....

As you may know, I write a blog every single day and have not missed a day in 14+ years!

I usually begin the day with a prayer and a cup of coffee.  Then, there are the daily chores.  Among them, I take care of our ducks and Cindy feeds the horses & donkeys.

In between the prayer and coffee & chores, I write a blog.  I will be honest.  Often I have no idea what I am going to write.  I ask our Lord to give me the words.  Sometimes He does and sometimes He doesn't.

Those are the blogs where I just ramble on a bit.  But the main reason I write this Daily Blog is to be accountable to those who PRAY for me and support our efforts of bringing CLEAN WATER to a THIRSTY WORLD in the Name of Jesus.

So, today, I pray and ask our to lead me and direct me into the paths that He would have me to walk.  I am so THANKFUL  to have you along this journey with me.

A THANKFUL HEART....

 

As I sit in my "Retreat Cabin" /  Office, here in the mountains of East TN, my heart is overflowing with THANKFULNESS.  

There are so many things for which to be THANKUL!

We have the old wood-stove that gives us warmth and the ability to cook.  Such a simple thing, but such a BLESSING!

Here, at our sweet "Retreat Cabin", we have the internet...that is relatively reliable.  With this wonderful tool, we can reach around the world.  For that, we are very grateful.

Let me ask you, how is your gratefulness going.  As we look around us and begin counting our BLESSINGS, more BLESSINGS flow.

I encourage you to take just a few minutes and count your blessings!

I'm also BLESSED having you meandering down this road of life with us.  We so APPRECIATE your faithful prayer, love and support!!

RIDING OUT THE STORM....

Last night, a wicked line of storms blew through our valley.  Fortunately, there was no damage, only 40-50 mph winds.  We never lost power.  For that, we are THANKFUL!

Today, that strong line of storms is heading to the East Coast.

WILDFIRES & HIGH WINDS & TORNADOES!

Much of the south is facing a WICKED combination of wildfires, high winds, tornadoes, low humidity and a lot of "fuel" caused by dry brush.

Literally millions are in path of these terrible storms.  The best thing to do is PREPARE!!

We, at Air Mobile, are checking our EMERGENCY RADIOS, have plenty of water (we of course have our Air Mobile Rescuer water purifiers), batteries, medicines, generators and the list goes on.  

We too are in the path of these extremely dangerous storms.  Suffice it to say, we're keeping a very close eye on these potentially catastrophic weather events.

These folks in Western Carolina are still far from recovering from Hurricane Helene.  They are still very much in our PRAYERS!

WATCHING & PRAYING FOR THOSE IN THE PATH OF WILD FIRES IN NC /SC!

Extreme dry conditions and high winds have SPARKED WILD FIRES in North & South  Carolina.

CAROLINAS FIRE UPDATES - EMERGENCY DECLARED IN NORTH & SOUTH CAROLINA AS WILD FIRES FORCE EVACUATIONS

We're keeping a very close eye on these developments.  We're PRAYING for the FIRE FIGHTERS as they fight these blazes & those in the path.  We PRAY for safe evacuations.

So far, no deaths or injuries have been reported.  Again, WE PRAY!!

Recently, we have seen how RAPIDLY these Wild Fires can spread.  Remember Hawaii & California?

Meanwhile, we're preparing and getting ready to DEPLOY  if circumstances require.

BTW, tomorrow, tornadoes are in the forecast for our region.  Time to "batten down the hatches".

A LOVELY DAY IN KNOXVILLE....

Yesterday was just spectacular.  Cindy and I drove to Knoxville for a "Day Date" and what a sweet day it was.

We began the day with a brunch at the Ruby Sunshine.  Has a nice New Orleans flair.

Then we took a stroll down the Tennessee River Walk and found this lovely mural along the way.

Knoxville has a wonderful EAST TENNESSEE Museum.  

It is very well done and....we'll be back to explore the rich history of East TN when we have more time.

After a delicious dinner, we headed to the Theatre Knoxville Downtown for the classic Oscar Wilde Comedy, "The Importance of Being Earnest".

It was very funny & well done. And a very nice way to end a beautiful day in Knoxville.

 Then....we headed back to our sweet "Retreat Cabin" arriving around midnight.

Sometimes, it's just nice to have a little "Get-Away".

A LITTLE GET-AWAY...

Cindy and I will be heading to Knoxville today to explore this lovely city and take advantage of the nice weather.

Nothing special going on today....just a little GET-AWAY.

Meanwhile, we continue to PRAY for PEACE in Ukraine.  The talks have gotten off to a "bumpy" start.  

Again, we ask our Lord to have His way and bring the parties back together.  It's time to end this bloody war!  That's all I have to say about that.

So, it's off to Knoxville and a peaceful day in a beautiful city.
