THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES......from 10-1-13

ON THE ROAD....HOME!

After cleaning up the Cabin for the next guest, I hit the road.  Stopped by and visited a very dear friend and brother in Christ, Bob Ley, in Limestone, TN, about 2 hours from the Cabin.  I found out, as I followed the map to Bob's Log Cabin, that Limestone was the birthplace of Davy Crocket. Interesting tid-bit of information.

Bob put on the coffee and we caught up.  Bob told me how he had converted his emergency generator to Propane.  Very smart move.  We went down to look at the installation and he showed me his emergency food stock.  I chuckled because our stock of food and supplies looks almost identical to his.  We're thinking alike.

Have had a hard ride back and my leg is giving me a bit of trouble again.  Drove until I was too tired to go on.  Pulled into a rest stop to sleep and was just miserable.  It was cold and I couldn't get comfortable at all.  Oh well, sometimes we have nights like that.

So, here I am in Denny's, right on the Georgia/Florida border, and having a good cup of coffee.  That makes things a little better.  Will have a light breakfast and push through the last 5 hours  of my journey home.  Have really missed Cindy and the kids.

Have a "rough" manuscript for our next book.  We have a lot of work to do on it, but at least the "foundation" has been laid.  Can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am, for having this time with my Lord.  Again, my Cindy helped to pave the way for me to take the time to "write" a book and seek the Lord.  THANKS CINDY!

Time to order those pancakes and then will continue on the journey home.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support.  God bless!!

IS THE SUN "WAKING UP"? - SAYING FAREWELL TO THE "CABIN" - AND...FALL BACK

Did you know that there have been 28 Solar Flares in the last 7 days and...more are expected?  Fortunately, so far, none serious enough to disrupt our lives...thank the Lord!  Well, it's the "Season" for a lot of solar activity (we're right in the middle of 'Solar Maximus').

Astro-Scientists have been a bit concerned because of the "lack" of solar flares.  Now, they have something to talk about.  Here's more on the latest on the "Sun waking up" - 28 SOLAR FLARES IN 7 DAYS

After nearly 3 weeks in the cabin and 12 Chapters later, it's time for Air Mobile Joe to head back to Florida.  I want to THANK my precious Cindy for helping to "make the way" for me to spend this time up here in prayer and "creative" writing.

We had a great day yesterday, installing a much needed door in the cabin.  Steve and Doug were great and Doug's extraordinary skill paid off.

Now, the cabin has some wonderful features, but it also had some "weaknesses".  One of them was...no door on the bathroom, just a big curtain.  Now, that was a little weird, but somewhat functional.

Now, thanks again to our dear brother and great "Water Mule" and so much more, Doug, we now have a beautiful door leading into our bathroom.  Yea!!

Cindy's single word comment when I "texted" her the shot of the newly installed door..."Gorgeous"!!  She also sent her most sincere thanks to Doug!

Again, I'm so thankful for having this precious time with our Lord.  We now have a "foundation" on which to complete our next book.  We have a lot of work to do on it, but at least we've begun the process.

Don't forget to "FALL BACK" tonight.  I know it's tough finding an extra hour in our schedule, but I'm sure you'll figure out something good to do with it.

Well, it's time for me to do the final cleaning on the little cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee and bid farewell.  It's been an amazing time and all I can say is THANK YOU for standing so faithfully with your prayer, love and support and...THANK YOU, Cindy for helping me to spend this precious time with our Lord!

JOINED BY A GREAT "WATER MULE"

Doug Augustine is technically a "Snow Bird", but in reality, he is a GREAT "Water Mule".  We first met Doug almost 4 years ago.  We needed a ride to Arkansas (over 1000 miles away) to pick up our newly donated aircraft, now known as, Ti Burik (The Little Donkey).

Doug, not even knowing us, said, "Sure, I'll drive you".  Thus began a friendship that has only grown in grace and value since.  Doug showed up yesterday, dragging his trailer.  He'd been on a building assignment for Habitat for Humanity up on Kentucky.  Really wanted to show him the retreat cabin.

He arrived yesterday afternoon and offered to take Steve and me out for a nice dinner.  While speaking with Cindy earlier, she gave me a project (install a door).

Well, I discussed it with Doug to get his opinion and "Voila", just like that, Doug had me buying the materials and we hope to get it installed today.  That's just the way Doug is, the "Great Water Mule"!

The sun hasn't risen yet and Steve and Doug are already up, putting down that first cup of cafe'.

We'll be heading into town this morning to pick up the balance of supplies we need to "tweak" the cabin.

Whoa, did we have a "Cold Front" blow through here last night.  Must have been 40 mph winds.  Well, time to head out the door. Thanks for your love, prayer and support.  God bless!!

LISTENING

Steve and I headed to a close-by waterfall.  After the winding road and the trek through the woods, we arrived at Elrod Falls.  The leaves were changing and the site was isolated and beautiful.

We just sat there for a while and watched the swirling water at the base.  The "Changing" leaves meant a lot of "falling" leaves.  The regular flow was greatly inhibited.  We had a deep discussion about the "physics" of the "flow".

Then, we just sat there quietly and "Listened" to the water fall.  At some point, during this peaceful, meditative moment in time, I suggested that Steve "Cup his ears with his hands".

Now, Steve is 39 years old and for a moment, I saw the "child-like" wonder flash across his face.  He told me he had never done that in the woods or especially near a water-fall.  The sound is magnified many times over and becomes incredibly rich and beautiful.

Then he would cup one ear and then the other and noted the "Stereo" effect.  He told me that he would bring his own son, Joshua, here one day and show him the wonder of "Listening".

Oh, Folks, there is such a lesson here.  Of course, I point this illustration to our Lord.  First of all, God is good...all the time!  And, He is, ever speaking to us...if we will, but "Listen".

As we walked back down the path, away from the water-fall, we'd stop several times and "cup our hands" over our ears and just listen.  So often, in this busy, rushed, intense life, we don't take the time (and it can be, just a moment) and "Listen to HIM".

During this precious time, that our Lord has given to Steve and I, it's good for us to just listen to one another.  Again, can't begin to tell you how deeply moved I am that my "first-born" son would take the time to drive 900+ miles, one way, to come and spend a little time with his old Dad.

Oh, earlier in the day, we did take a walk to "Jacobs' Cabin".  Now, Peter named this old house, from "Lost" (a very scary old cabin).

Steve is, as I've shared, a Civil Engineer and I asked him to do a little "Structural Analysis" on the old cabin to see whether we should just tear it down or..."gut it" and try to rebuild it.  The "Verdict" is still out.

Because we do have, now, a decent internet connection, Steve was able to do some "Engineering" work on another project back in Dallas.  It is so cool that we can be in this beautiful place (in the mountains of East Tennessee) and still work and conduct business.  It's just a gift from our Lord!

Yesterday evening, we went to our local Church, "The Father's House" and heard a wonderful message.  On the way home, I just thanked our Lord for giving Steve and I this precious time together.

We'll see what our Lord has for us today.  I'm up very early, while things are still quiet and very peaceful and will be "Listening" to our Lord.

Ahhh, such a simple, but valuable lesson.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support.  May you be blessed today and...take a few extra, special moments, and spiritually, "Cup your hands to your ears" and listen for the voice of God.  HE will speak to you and...He loves you more than you could ever imagine!

COMPANY AT THE CABIN

What a joy to welcome my eldest son, Steve yesterday.  Had been telling him about the "Retreat Cabin" and he decided to drive 900 miles (from Dallas) to come see his Dad and spend a little time in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Steve is a Civil Engineer by trade.  We have a couple of "old structures" on the property that I'd like to get his professional opinion on.  We 're going to have a good time.

The weather has warmed up and the trees are "bursting" into color.  All I can say is I'm so thankful for a loving wife that has helped me to get away (to this "Retreat" Cabin).  The beauty surrounding us, takes ones breath away!

This has enabled me to make good progress on writing a book telling about the awesome power and love of God in our lives.  And now, I'm able to spend some quality time with my "first-born" son.  THANK YOU, CINDY!

Time to make a nice breakfast for Steve and go "analyze" some old structures.  Hope and pray you have a wonderful day and...THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

GOOD DAY OF WRITING - ABOUT TO GET A VISITOR TO THE CABIN - 'IF YOU LIKE IT...YOU CAN KEEP IT" - 3 MASSIVE SOLAR FLARES IN 3 DAYS

Had a very productive day of writing on that "Rainy Day" in the cabin.  Have partial chapters in 9-11, but hit Chapter 12 running.  Have found that when I "slow" down on a chapter, simply put it aside and keep it "open" for edits, changes, additions and keep moving.

Also, got a call from my oldest son, Steve.  Was telling him about this "Writer's Haven" and during the course of our conversation, he decided to come have a visit with his Dad.  I'm expecting him mid morning.  Looking forward to some quality time with my "first born".

On another note, has your insurance been "Cancelled"?  Seems to be happening to literally millions across America.

Guess he, (the President) really didn't mean, "If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor" or "If you like your Health Plan, you can keep your Health Plan".

Oh well, such is life in the world of Politics.  A lot of people are waking up to the fact that Obama-Care is not all it was advertised to be....and the "Sticker Shock" can be staggering!  Just to bring this point more to light, take a look at this NBC Story - OBAMA ADMIN KNEW MILLIONS COULD NOT KEEP THEIR PLANS

The sun has been quiet for the last few months until a couple of days ago.  Then boom, 3 very large ("X") Class Eruptions.  The last being yesterday.

No major disruptions expected, but again, just shows how vulnerable we are to things that we have no control over...except prayer.  Life can change very quickly.  That is the reason to put your trust in the Lord....who has the "Whole World in His Hands"!  Here's more - 3RD MASSIVE SOLAR FLARE IN 3 DAYS

Time to get on with some early morning writing before Steve arrives.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A RAINY DAY IN THE CABIN

Checked the world news for any updates on the India Flooding and could not find anything new.  Will continue to pray for those folks whose lives have been turned upside down.

Had an easy Sunday.  Went to Church and heard a good message.  While speaking with Cindy, she told me how Peter led worship at our home church, Redeemer.  Peter is 16 years old and very gifted in music.  Above all, Peter loves the Lord and is willing to be used by Him.  We're very proud of Peter.  Here's a link to a bit - PETER LEADING WORSHIP

In the meantime, it's just a rainy day here at the cabin.  Looks like rain all day.  It's a good day for writing.  Have been taking it easy, regarding writing, the last few days and spending some quality time in the Word of God.  I love getting up at 3:00am and just reading His love story to us.

Today, I've just written a "snip-it" of a blog.  May write more later.  Time to get to work on the "Book".

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

MAJOR FLOODING IN INDIA - THOUSANDS FLEEING - PLEASE, JOIN ME IN PRAYER FOR THOSE IN THE PATH

In scanning the news this morning, I find that there is major flooding, caused by days of torrential rains, in Southeast India. Dozens have died and hundreds of thousands  have been forced to flee or, are stranded in low-lying areas.  This region is known as the "Rice Hub" of India.

More rain is forecast through today.  This area has already been saturated from Cyclone Phailin that struck the region several weeks ago.  Folks, many are suffering.  May I urge you to pray for those in the path of this disaster.

Because of the internet...we can find out about these things and do something about them.  We first begin with PRAYER!  Remember that quotation (I often use it), "Prayer is striking the winning blow, service is just gathering up the results".  As we pray, our Lord can speak to our hearts and direct us as to how to help.

When I awakened this morning, I had no idea what was going on in India until I "scanned" the news.  I am thankful for this tool, that enables us to be a "Co-Laborer with God".  Remember, our Lord hears our prayers.  May we be sensitive to His voice as to how we can help those in such desperate need.  Here's more on the India flooding - THOUSANDS FLEE INDIA FLOODING

I am reminded of how Cindy and I and Barbara traveled to India following devastating flooding in 2005.  Mumbai (a city of 15 million+), had 34.8 inches of rain in one 24 hour period.  One can only imagine the damage and suffering that this caused!  We were able to bring clean water to those in need.  Even though our efforts seemed like a "drop in the bucket", at least we were able to help some.

That scripture comes to me, Jesus said, "I was thirsty and you gave Me to drink".  The Disciples asked, "Lord, when did we ever see You thirsty?".  Jesus said, "When you've done it unto the least of these...you've done it unto Me" (Matthew 25:35).  Our Lord is touched by our infirmities and troubles".

In preparing for Church this morning, I will be praying for those in such need.  Would you join me in prayer?  Our Lord tells us "where two or more are gathered in My Name, there am I in the midst of them".

Through the wonder of this little "blog" connection, we can indeed join our hearts together and PRAY.  I am thankful to have you standing with me with your prayer, love and support.  God bless!

7.3 EARTHQUAKE SHAKES JAPAN...NEAR FUKUSHIMA - POSSIBLE OBAMA CARE SOLUTION...BY JAY LENO - EFFECTIVE WAY TO OVERCOME 19 DEGREES

Japan had a 7.3 Earthquake off the coast of Fukushima. No major damage reported.  I recall, so well, when Cindy and I were in Japan following the very powerful 9.3 Earthquake.  Went through a number of very powerful after-shocks.  Their buildings are truly built to withstand major quakes (they just "rock & sway").

Thankfully, there has been no reported loss of life, no major damage and the Tsunami warning has been lifted from this latest powerful quake.

You know with all of these Obama-Care roll out complications and glitches, Jay Leno actually came up with a pretty good solution:  "Put NSA in Charge, they already have all of our information".  Funny, Jay - Here's his take on the matter - OBAMA CARE SOLUTION...PUT NSA IN CHARGE

Have a "sure-fire" way to overcome 19 degrees (the current temperature here in the mountains of East TN).  Whoa, is it cold this morning!  That icy jet-stream dip has continued to reach right here in the cabin.

The Solution:  It begins with having a nice stock of firewood (that's firewood, not stonework below the deck).  So thankful that our little Cabin has a good supply.  By the way, don't need electricity to overcome the frigid temperature.

Just load up the old Wood Stove and 'light the fire'.  Back in the day, before electricity, that's how folks managed to stay warm and cook their meals.  Sometimes, it's good to be able to "Go back to basics".

As many of you know, been up here in the cabin writing a book.  My mind has been "a-swirl" with memories.  Haven't been able to move to the next chapter.  Been "waiting" on God.

So, began looking around the cabin and found a place that needed a mirror.  Thought, next time I go into town, will see about picking one up.

Well, went into a small storage area and peeking behind a bunch of old boxes saw the corner of an old mirror.  It had tape on it and "sequins" glued to it.  It was dirty, old and somewhat ugly.  I pulled it out and began to clean it up.

When I turned it over, saw that it came from Chicago, IL.  Also noticed that there was no Zip Code, just a number (Chicago 7, Illinois).  Remember those days, "Old Timers"?

Of course, it cleaned up beautifully and I installed it exactly where it was needed.  Seems like every time we come up to the cabin, we find a "Treasure" buried somewhere.  This time, it was an old forgotten mirror that could have easily been thrown away.  Now, it's been redeemed and put back to work.

So, on this chilly morning, will sit at this computer and... continue to write a book about God's Amazing Grace and His awesome power and love.  Please PRAY with me that our Lord gives me the words to write.

Pray you are blessed today and THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

THE "WOLVES" ARE MORE COYOTE THAN WOLF - HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED "CABIN FEVER"?

What I thought was a wolf (from yesterday's blog), was only a "half-truth".  It appears that in this neck of the woods, there's a hybrid (also referred to as a Grey Wolf) - about 75% Coyote and 25% wolf.  Heard them "talking" again last night.

It's really cold again today and managed to keep that fire going all night.  Woke up at about 3:30 this morning to throw a log on the fire, and just spent some wonderful time reading the Word out loud.  Sure to do love my solitude up here in the cabin.

Yesterday, went out to start my little Ford Escape and the battery was dead.  I understand, that a sudden "cold snap" will bring out the "weaknesses" in a battery.  Such was my case.  A dead cell.

Called a neighbor and requested a boost.  During that time of waiting, I experienced a very mild dose of "Cabin Fever".  See, I couldn't leave and suddenly, the walls on the cabin began to close in on me.

Now, I knew, it would only last until my neighbor got here to jump me off but...not having "wheels" had me looking at the cabin with a "I gotta get outta here" syndrome (I'm being a bit comical here), because this was a very mild dose of Cabin Fever.

Got jumped off, went to the local Garage / Parts Store (through the valley and over the hill) and verified, "Yep, dead battery".  A quick change, did some unnecessary (to delay my return to the cabin just a bit) grocery shopping, then gradually, worked my way back to the cabin.  Ahhh, the fever lifted and I was glad to be back.

Spent a lot of time just re-reading and tweaking the first 8 chapters of "Storm Dancer".  Began writing Chapter 9, but didn't get very far.

Via the wonder of the internet, reached out to one of the "Reporters", Marci Gonzalez, that joined us on that first flight into Haiti immediately following the earthquake.  I had a few gaps and needed some additional facts.  She has moved on from a local, South Florida NBC Station to ABC (Global) in New York.

During our conversation, Marci, reminded me of some things that happened.  Again, it was things that I had mercifully, forgotten.   Back to doing some more editing, tweaking and crying.  It will be like that for a while.

Got the fire stoked and the coffee pot on, this morning,  and back to writing.  Pray you have a blessed day and THANK YOU for meandering down this winding path with me.  Truly appreciate your prayer, love and support!

25 DEGREES & WOLVES HOWLING & A SNEAK PREVIEW OF "BROKE LEG GULCH"

Awoke early and checked the temperature.  A chilly 25 degrees and falling.  Heard wolves howling in the valley (actually, it was the wolves that awakened me...pretty eerie).  Put the coffee on and lit a fire.  Nice way to start a day of writing in the snug little cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Speaking of the "wolves", next time they howl, I'm going to try to capture it with my phone camera / microphone and let you hear it.

Looks like a pretty strong "Cold Snap" is hitting the East and Tennessee is right in the grip of that "Frosty Dip".  Thankfully, have plenty of firewood to keep that fire going.

Had another good day of writing yesterday. Finished Chapter 8 titled "Broke Leg Gulch". Yes, I broke my leg in Haiti and a mysterious woman stopped, as I lay in the mud on the path, next to a big rut and a broken cinder block, and she prayed for me.  The pain left instantly.  Got the leg set & put into a cast and flew our little mission airplane home 4 days later.  It's going to be quite a book filled with deep challenges and extraordinary miracles!

In addition to "Writing", have had the most remarkable time just reading the Word of God.  It's good to check the "World's Headlines" and see how they "overlay" on the Prophesies.  Folks, I absolutely agree with Billy Graham and others, "we are living in the End Times"!

Now, I must admit, we've been living in the "End Times" for a long time, but....we are definitely getting closer (at least one day closer) to the return of Jesus.  Signs are everywhere, we just have to open our eyes, look and read "The Book".

Regarding Obama-Care, it looks like a "Delay" of the mandate will take place (both Parties are talking delay now).  Hopefully, this will give time to sort this thing out.

As I mentioned yesterday, this whole effort (giving the government staggering control over our health care) will indeed effect (and not necessarily for the better) every man, woman and child in this country.  We certainly need to continue to PRAY that Wisdom and Sanity prevail!!

So, it's cold (brrrr), bright and early...still awaiting the sun to rise.  Already having my second cup of coffee and will continue to write the book (working on Chapter 9) and keep the fire stoked.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

LISTEN, WHEN THE GOVERNMENT GETS INVOLVED, THINGS GET MUCH LESS EFFICIENT AND BREATH-TAKINGLY MORE EXPENSIVE...IT'S THAT SIMPLE! - ARE THOSE DEER BACK IN THE GARDEN??

Folks, I am not surprised in the least at the debacle of the Obama-Care "Roll-Out".  It's just that the stakes have been raised dramatically...our bodies hang in the balance.  Often, the mindset is, "just throw more money at it and that will fix it".

Remember, the Government has already spent $369,000,000++ and had years to create a simple, functional system.  Now, the whole thing may have to be re-written and...even then, it may not work.

Just look at what has happened, before our very eyes, with the "Affordable Healthcare".  Frankly, I don't think it is possible to accomplish this, affordable healthcare, with the Federal Government.  Please forgive me, I had to get that off my chest this morning.

OK, now that I've said that, may I encourage you to really PRAY that this "Train-Wreck" gets straightened out.  Don't forget, we can be part of the solution with our PRAYER!!  We need to PRAY that the Leaders of our Country and that the "Parties" in both Houses get together and truly fix this mess.

Had a very good day in regard to writing.  Was able to finish Chapter 6 and go right on with Chapter 7.  Told the story about "Ti Burik" and how we got the "Little Donkey".  It's a wonderful story.  It was chilly yesterday, so..."Edit by Fire".

Yesterday morning, while speaking with Cindy, caught those deer in our garden again.  Love it!  Look carefully and you'll see their "flicking white tails".  NOTE:  DON'T CLICK ON THE PHOTO ON THE RIGHT - CLICK HERE > DEER IN THE GARDEN

It's time for that wonderful second cup of coffee and back to writing.  I'm very serious about our need to PRAY that this ObamaCare fiasco getS straightened out.  Our Government needs wisdom!

In the Book of James, it says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him".

So, with those words of wisdom, from the Lord, we'll move into this day that our Lord has made.  THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support.  May you be extremely blessed today!!

THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE (Old-timers think of Simon & Garfunkle)

I've been reading Scripture out loud to myself.  Since I'm all alone in the cabin, it's nice to fill the air with the Word of God.  OK, I also find myself talking to myself.  One of the great advantages to being all alone is the silence.....and, no one looks at you funny when you talk to yourself.  I find myself laughing a bit more also.

I recall reading a story by the late Jamie Buckingham (very notable Christian Author).  He decided to get alone to write.  So, he went to Israel, found a lonely mountain, arranged to be all alone and he stated, "took a week to get the "roar" out of my head...).  Well, it hasn't taken me a week, but it's nice to not have a constant "roar".  It makes it easier to hear.

Have you ever cupped your hands over your ears?  I'm sure you have.  It's particularly cool to do it in the woods.  Man, you can hear all kind of things that you did not hear before, like, a lot of birds, babbling brooks and even some unidentified creatures, etc.  You can also do it in the city and the "volume" goes up dramatically when you simply cup your hands over your ears.

Of course, my hope and prayer is that I hear from God...more clearly.  He speaks to us through His word, but....it's good to get alone and simply seek Him.

Must admit, this has helped a great deal with this book.  So glad that Cindy and I planned this little "solitude" get-away to enable me to capture the words to write.

Yesterday, managed to finish Chapter 5, that dealt rather extensively with the first hours after arrival in Haiti following the terrible earthquake.  It was a hard chapter to write.

Actually went on to Chapter 6, titled "When Joe met Cindy".  Now, these chapters will likely be re-arranged in the final copy of the book, but at least, I'm laying out the basic "structure" on which to build.

So glad to have internet here.  Still able to conduct a bit of business, even though, I'm in the cabin in the mountains.  Throughout the day, am able to check e-mail and make responses and do research etc., but I try not to let it dominate the day.  Otherwise, will bring the noise and the "roar" into the cabin...don't want to do that. It just takes a bit of discipline to stay focused on the writing.

Were you able to "Google" in "The Four Blood Moons" yesterday?  The amazing thing that I have found is the overall acceptance of the NASA data and the direct correlation of those, rather rare events,  that will (if the NASA projections are correct) fall on the Jewish Feast Days.  That's pretty astounding.

As you may have noticed, I've been pretty quiet about the Obama-care debacle (the disastrous roll-out).  For the last few months, been sharing my thoughts on the matter and it boils down to...."Do you want the government to "control" your liver, lungs, heart, brain, etc.??

IF they cannot get the rather, straight-forward, sign-up right, imagine how they will handle critical "Operating Room" procedures.  Remember, the Government had 3 years and hundreds of millions of dollars to arrange the "on-line" sign up!!  Folks, this is a very scary thought.  Again, I ask you to join together with me (for all of our sakes') and PRAY that this matter, gets handled correctly!! (Remember, this matter effects every man, woman and child in America).

So, today, the quest goes on.  Will begin on Chapter 7.  Am very thankful for the modest progress that I've had on this venture of writing "Storm Dancer" (title subject to change).  Am so glad that you've been able to "meander" along the winding path of this journey with me.  And...as always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support.  May you be blessed today!!

HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE "4 BLOOD MOONS"? THERE ARE A NUMBER OF FOLKS SAYING..."WE'RE DEFINITELY IN THE 'END TIMES'"

I've heard "bit & pieces" about the 4 Blood Moons for the last few weeks.  Being away in the cabin, writing this book, has afforded me the opportunity to study it a bit and WOW!

Are the "Heavens" speaking?  Here's an 8 minute YouTube that explains a bit more and you decide - Here it is:  4 BLOOD MOONS

Now, I know that "Theologians" have taught that we are living in the "End Times" for many, many years and quite often, current events are presented as "Signs of the Times".  I know this, because, I often do it.  Well, this last one, Four Blood Moons, is pretty impressive and indeed, point to: "something big is about to happen".  Just another reason look to Jesus as Lord and Savior!

As you may know, Billy Graham, one of the greatest Evangelist of all time, has stuck to "Salvation" as his primary message over these last 6 Decades.  Yesterday, he came out with another interview.  Here's what he said - BILLY GRAHAM SOUNDS ALARM FOR SECOND COMING

So, what does all of this mean to us?  Well, first of all, Jesus said "I am coming back".  That's a fact.  He further said that before His return, there would certain, clear signs and that He would speak to us through the Heavens, specifically, the sun and the moon.

Here's just one of the many scriptures that speak about this.  It is found in Joel 2:31-32 - "The sun shall be turned to darkness (eclipse) and the moon into "blood", Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord..And it shall come to pass that whosoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved...."

Again, WOW, the prophet, Joel was describing a blood moon with perfect accuracy thousands of years ago.  These things (Blood Moons) happen rarely and for 4 to fall on 4 Jewish Feast days (according to NASA's predictions) is pretty impressive.  Now, this is just one of many such prophesies.

As I sit in this little Cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee, with the purpose of writing a book to, hopefully, encourage others to come God and look to Jesus, my heart is to seek the Lord and ask Him to give me the words to write.

Of course, I write this daily "Rambling" Blog with my thoughts and ideas and prayer requests, and share them with you every single day.  That is the reason I just had to share the "Four Blood Moons"  with you today.

I suspect that many of you are "crazy busy" just trying to survive in the this "crazy" world and you likely, have precious little free time, to go and study something.  I believe that this is a pretty significant piece of information and that you should consider studying the subject a bit more.  I know that I certainly am.

Also, note, the first of these 4 Blood Moons, will occur in April 2014, that's only about 6 months away.  Could our Lord be showing us these things to have us to prepare for something "big"?  Perhaps...

Well, today, it's on with "Storm Dancer".  Will be working Chapter 5 today.  As always, THANK YOU for meandering down this road with me.  So appreciate your prayer, love and support.  Be sure to just "Google" in 4 Blood moons and see what pops up.  God bless!!

29 DEGREES AND FOG "THICK AS PEA SOUP"

That Canadian "Cold Blast" has reached its' frigid fingers down to Tennessee.  It's a chilly 29 degrees here at the cabin and fog as thick as "Pea Soup".

Managed to "Crack Open" chapter 5 of the book, and wrote just a little bit and then decided to just take it easy and take a ride.  I needed a break from all this writing.

Headed to Morristown, a neighboring town.  It's a gorgeous ride through these Tennessee Mountains.  Love the leaves changing and could feel the beginning of that chilly blast.

Just received this shot from Cindy.  She and Peter and Ariana met with a team of young folks from Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an Honor Society yesterday morning.  This group of young people have taken on Air Mobile as a project.

Their goal is to raise funds for Air Mobile Rescuers.  Cindy and I are very grateful that these young people have a strong burden to help others less fortunate!

In the course of this project, they offered to help with some "clean-up".  They converged on the Air Mobile office in Merritt Island and spent yesterday morning sprucing up the place.  THANKS PTK!! & THANK YOU, CINDY for leading this effort!!

OK, for any of you that might follow College Football, there were a lot of "Upsets" yesterday including....my beloved LSU Tigers.  Ole Miss just came to play and won the game in the last second!  I understand why they call it an "Upset".  I'm still upset but....it's just a game!

So, will be heading to Church this morning and slowly picking my way through the fog on this chilly morning.  As always, THANK YOU for standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!

PRESSING ON - ANOTHER CHAPTER COMPLETE.... VIA A "PAKISTAN FLASH- BACK"

Memories are funny things.  One can have a pleasant memory and re-live an event or...one can have an unpleasant memory and we often shrink away from those.  Often, healing is required to "go there" and process the event.

Yesterday, I "kicked the can down the road" and just moved on.  I know I'll have to return to certain memories (the Haiti earthquake) and...with the help of Jesus, process them and then share them in my next book, "Storm Dancer".  So, yesterday, I side-stepped the issue and went back in my memory to Pakistan.

I recalled (and found a photo) of Dr. Sheikh, the former Surgeon General of Pakistan and myself in the Marriott Hotel in downtown Islamabad on Christmas Day.

Dr. Sheikh, knowing that I was a Christian, wanted to surprise me with a "Christmas Tree".  This created a very pleasant memory and a lovely evening.  Dr. Sheikh and I often had many wonderful conversations comparing and discussing Christianity and Islam.

BTW, the Marriott, where this Giant Christmas tree was located, was blown up by a terrorist after this photo was taken.  At any rate, the next Chapter of Storm Dancer had to do with the Pakistan Earthquake.  Though there were many disturbing memories of that event, I seemed a bit more prepared to share them and write about them, rather than the Haiti Earthquake.

As I said, I'll indeed write more about the Haiti Earthquake, just not right now.   So glad to have gotten another Chapter written.  Looking forward to more writing today.

Then, this afternoon, I'm going to drive to Morristown, TN and find a nice place to watch another great SEC (Southeast Conference) football slug fest between my beloved LSU Tigers and the Old Miss Rebels.  Oh, anytime these 2 teams take to the field, there's good football!

The temperature outside the little Cabin is 39 degrees and it's expected to go down 35 degrees tonight.  Will likely light another fire.  According the the Weather Channel, a big cold wave is moving across the Eastern U.S.  Oh, the leaves are "exploding" into color.  What a lovely time to be up here.

Spoke with Cindy multiple times yesterday.  She's such a good "Counselor" for me.  Remember, she's a Psych-Nurse.  She suggested I just keep moving ahead.  Today, she and Peter and Ariana will be joined by a team of young people who are volunteering on a big  "clean-up / tend to the garden" day at our Air Mobile Headquarters.  So thankful for willing hearts to help.

Time to get on with this day and see what the Lord has in store.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

A WALK DOWN "MEMORY LANE" HAD ME RUNNING TO JESUS...& I DIDN'T HAVE TO RUN FAR - ARE THOSE DEER RUNNING THROUGH OUR GARDEN??

When Cindy and I made the plan for me to come to the "Cabin" in the mountains of East Tennessee to write a book, we knew that it would be important to "get away" from the routine and spend some quality time alone and above all, time with Jesus.

After "roaring" through chapters 1-3, things began to slow down.  When I opened the door to my memories of the Haiti Earthquake, and saw those scenes and heard the cries and the smells and faces and grief,   I just bogged down in Chapter 4.  Kept trying to write and finally had to put it down and run to Jesus....He wasn't far away.

Temperature has been dropping, so, I lit a fire, fixed a cup of hot cocoa, sat on the sofa and invited Jesus in.

He promised to never leave us or forsake us...even to the very end.  Now, those are comforting words.  And remember, no matter where you are...Jesus is just a prayer away!

I spoke with Cindy and explained my plight and she suggested I have a "flash-back" to another mission & tell how I was "prepared" for the Haiti earthquake mission.  Not a bad idea.  Will be working on that today.

Also, writing this "Blog" is a true blessing in that I'm able to, on a daily basis, express my ideas and challenges and victories and...gain prayer support at the same time.  Always hoping that in some way, this little "Blog" can be a blessing to you.  Sure appreciate your love, prayer and support!!

I'll tell you, having the internet is a blessing and a burden.  Before "penning" this blog daily, I scan the news and what is happening in America is, very disturbing!  Right now, it appears as if those who want a return to the Lord and values and responsibility are in the minority.  I recall a certain prophet in the Old Testament who felt that way and the Lord showed him that there were thousands who loved the Lord.  I pray that is the case in America!

So, it's 39 degrees and the temperature is dropping here in the cabin.  Time for that delicious second cup of coffee and will be continuing through Chapter 4 of "Storm Dancer".  Again, really appreciate you!  Pray that you're blessed by our Lord today!!

PS - When I went on the deck to check the temperature, saw some movement in the garden, it was at least 7 deer.  Captured a quick video and you can see their "white tails" flicking in the shot

(NOTE:  you have to look very carefully to see the little white "flicking tails").  Joe

SOME VERY CLEAR THINKING ON WHAT'S GOING IN WASHINGTON, DC

Came across this interview with Billy Graham.  Billy has a way of taking very complex and perplexing situations and bringing extraordinary clarity to it.

We've seen him do this with millions of people as he so clearly and eloquently identifies the "mess" that man is in and the awesome love of God.  Here's the interview - BILLY GRAHAM: GREED AND LUST AT HEART OF POLITICAL CHAOS

Well, this interviews depicts, quite clearly what is happening, and what just happened in Washington, DC.  Meanwhile, 87% of the American people feel that our Government is going in the wrong direction.  Now, simple math says that only 13%! feel that America is going in the right direction.  That's pretty staggering!  Folks, when we take God out of the formula, this is what happens!  Here's the latest poll numbers - 13% OF AMERICANS SAY AMERICA GOING IN RIGHT DIRECTION!

Wrote another Chapter yesterday (completed Chapter 3) and cried like a baby.  I went down memory lane leading up to, and immediately after the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.  Talk about painful memories and breath-taking miracles. In spite of the turmoil and overwhelming tragedy, we were able to share the love God in so many ways.

Our Lord tells us in the Bible that these things will happen (read Matthew 24) and at the same time promises in Matthew 28:20, "I will always be with you, even to the end of the age. Amen".

Again, Cindy and I are so thankful to be alive in this day and to have the ability to bring clean water to those that are thirsty.  Believe me, in the direction that our country and the world are going in, they will need CLEAN WATER and....THE LIVING WATER that only, Jesus can give!

So, as, our Government has just "Kicked the can down the road" again, there will come an "accounting" and we must realize that we cannot keep spending money that we don't have.  Again, I find myself in the position of simply PRAYING for sanity and fiscal responsibility to prevail.  Please join me!

Am up early this morning, there is a cool, fine mist covering the mountains.  The coffee is hot and the computer awaits Chapter 4.  Praise God for His goodness and mercy.  In spite of bad decisions, our Lord can still redeem this country.  We simply PRAY!

As always, I'm so thankful for your precious prayer, love and support!  Be blessed!!

ANOTHER DAY OF "WRITING" & THE LEAVES ARE TURNING

Wow, what a blessing it is to be in this beautiful place and have the "Commission" to write a book.  Can't begin to tell you how thankful I am to have this opportunity.  Just hope and pray that Book 2 will be a blessing to many.

By the way, making good writing progress, and thanks for  your prayers.  Finished Chapter 2 yesterday.

When Cindy and I planned for me to come up here and take the time to "Pen" this book, neither of us realized that the leaves would be turning.  I mean, they are really turning, almost right before my eyes.  I look out over our valley and it's like an explosion of color.  Just one of those unexpected blessings.  Oh, the wonder of it all.

As you know, I begin the day with my "Rambling Blog" and usually take a look at the News of the Day.  Whoa, things are not good in DC.  As we approach the Debt Ceiling Deadline, a lot of bad things can happen to the U.S. Economy and the Economy of the world.  This is a matter that we really need to PRAY about.  Here's more - DEADLINE LOOMS...HOUSE GOP AND SENATE DEMOCRATS SPAR

It's still amazing that one can sit in a cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee and be in touch with the world.  The Internet is truly a marvelous thing.  Can also have Air Mobile Rescuers put together and dispatched to an area of need in a matter of hours.  It is a wonderful day in which we live.  I'm simply thankful.

Oh, had another "Blogger" glitch this morning. Wrote an entire blog (earlier) and things "froze up" and I had no choice but to "go back" (would not let me save the work) losing the blog.  So, this is number 2.  The challenges of "writing".  Just getting me primed and ready for Chapter 3.

Well, it's that time.  As always, I want you to know, just how much I appreciate your prayer, love and support.  I pray that you be extremely blessed by our Lord today!!

A DELICIOUS CUP OF COFFEE IN THE TENNESSEE MIST - CHAPTER 1...DONE - "A SONG AND AN AMBUSH"

There are moments in life where things are just good...real good.  Awoke this morning to birds singing, a gentle mist in the valley, 50 degrees, a delicious cup of coffee & a strong internet connection.  Ahhh, life doesn't get much better than that.

Had a "struggle" with Blogger yesterday morning and yes, I experienced a bit of panic, when Blogger would not let me in.  You see, "Journaling" is something I've done most all of my life.  Not sure when it began, but I was pretty young, like in my teens.

Then, when I began to share my daily (via Blogger), rambling journey with you (some of you have been with me for a while on this crazy ride), it just became more important to me.  So....when the glitch occurred yesterday, my heart began to beat faster (began to feel panic) and yes, I prayed like crazy.

I had to take a deep breath and just lay it at the feet of Jesus.  And then...a tiny window opened and I was able to "grab" the last blog and attach to it and "Posted" successfully.  But, I had to realize that I could lose this "connection".  Then, what would I do?  That is when our Lord gave me His comfort and said..."you'll be OK, I'm there with you".

So, that's how I began Day 1 of this "Writing Retreat" in the Cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.  Once the blog got "Posted" (actually wrote & posted 2 blogs yesterday), I could just relax.  Took a walk (Cindy wants me to exercise daily), visited with a neighbor and returned to the cabin.

Opened a can of Chicken and Dumplings (comfort food) and began typing.  It was almost like a cartoon.  My fingers were literally "flying" over the keys.  Whoa!! So glad to have this amazing spot and time in my life to just "let it rip"!

Here's a sneak preview of Chapter 1.  Now, it may change, because our Lord has given me some super Editors, but here you go.  Chapter 1 may be titled "A song and an Ambush".  Folks, as my fingers flew over the keys...like a blur...my heart raced as I re-lived a "near fatal" ambush.  Oh, there was clear Divine Intervention, and actually some pretty humorous moments.

I sent the rough draft Chapter to Cindy and she wrote back...."this is going to be a 'page-turner'....love it!".  So, there you have Day 1.  Am very thankful that our Lord gave me the words to begin this second book.

After my morning walk (it's a chilly 50 degrees) and that great second cup of coffee, I'll sit down and, hopefully, write Chapter 2. I simply pray that our Lord will give me the words today.  We'll see what "Adventure" our Lord has for us today.

You never know, where we'll go, when you get in this old "Rambler" with me on this journey.  Do you remember the "Rambler"?...what a crazy name for a car.  I actually had one as a teenager.  I often refer to the "Rambling Blog", thus this photo.

Am truly thankful to have you with me on this Journey for Jesus.  As always, THANK YOU, for your faithful prayer, love and support.  Be blessed today!!

I KIND OF KNOW HOW THOSE "EBT" RECIPIENTS FELT (a bit of panic!)....WHEN I COULD NOT ACCESS BLOGGER THIS MORNING!

As many of you know, I get up every morning and write a blog.  My precious Cindy says "it's my therapy".  Probably, some truth to that.  Well, after driving pretty much all day and all night, finally arrived at our beloved "Retreat Cabin" after midnight last night, here in the beautiful Smokey Mountains.

Got up, after sleeping like a log, put on the coffee and stepped out on the porch to admire the beauty and the wonder all around me.  The temperature was a crisp 53 degrees and the ever present, early morning mist greeted me.

Sat down at the computer to write & "Post" the daily, rambling blog and strange messages began appearing.  Something about password change and other bizarre things.  Oh, I gulped the coffee and tried to access BLOGGER every way I knew how.  I prayed and asked the Lord to just help me.  Yes, I've grown pretty dependent on posting this little rambling "journey" journal.

Then, it happened, I had a small "window" and was able to post the quick little blog that you see just below.  As soon as I got it written (had written 3 other blogs and lost them all due to the weird glitch), I quickly hit "Update" and it posted.  Ahhhh!  I know how those folks must have felt when the EBT System went down the other day.  Yes, there was a sense of panic.  That's when I just sat and prayed and the little window opened up.

Now, that I finally have a "Post" up this morning, though, quite late, I was able to go into my computer and shut it all down.  Brought it back up, refreshed.  Moved and shifted some things around and, for now, it seems all is back to normal.

It's a bit scary about how dependent we've become on this technology.  How would we handle things if we lost them?  That's one of the reasons Cindy and I have set up this "Retreat Cabin".  Should we lose the internet, a lot of things would go down, and we would have to depend upon ourselves (and of course, the Lord) to survive.  Something to think about.

Now, for the next couple of weeks, I'll be up here just writing and praying.  I still have access (sometimes limited) to the internet (thank God!), and we have a Tennessee Landline along with my regular cell phone (which is quite spotty).  Cindy and I speak daily and basically, I can still conduct business as necessary.

Oh, have you heard about India?  Well, due to Mass Evacuations, the death toll following Cyclone Phailin is miraculously low.  Of course, we are saddened for any loss of life, but it could have been so much worse.

One local resident said..""If we had stayed here, everyone in the village would be dead," said Amma, a 55-year-old fisherwoman. "I consider myself lucky to be alive."  Back in 1999, a similar Cyclone struck this same region and killed 10,000+ folks! Here's more on Cyclone Phailin - MASS EVACUATION SAVES LIVES

Well, it's time to shift from the Daily, Rambling Blog to the Book.  As always, THANK YOU for standing with us with your precious prayer, love and support!  May you be blessed today!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - Are you having a hard time accessing Google this morning?  There still seems to be something weird going on.  We'll continue to pray!  Joe

LATE BLOG...DUE TO WEIRD COMPUTER GLITCH...FINALLY GOT A QUICK ONE OUT

Wow, been up for a while trying again and again to post my daily "rambling" blog and have had some very weird stuff going on.  Finally...got access and am going to just write a quick blog while I've got a signal.

Drove all day and arrived at our East Tennessee Mountain cabin after midnight.  Slept like a log and just so glad to be here.  The plan:  Write a book!  Now, that's a pretty ambitious plan, but just feel like it's time.

Just love it up here.  The early morning mist is appropriate to the name (The Smokey Mountains).  Am going to post this now, before I lose it.  God bless!!

AIR MOBILE JOE "ON THE ROAD...AGAIN" - CYCLONE PHAILIN MADE LANDFALL - HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS EVACUATED - INITIAL DEATH TOLL LOW..PRAISE GOD!  BUT..MAJOR FLOODING COMING

I delayed my departure for the Tennessee Cabin for Peter...actually, it was for both of us, because we really, really wanted to watch the LSU - Florida game at "Dogs" (our favorite hangout).  Was originally scheduled to leave on Friday but by request (from Peter), decided to leave AFTER the game last night.

We watched a great game (if you're an LSU Fan), between two powerful SEC (Southeast Conference) Teams and....LSU prevailed 17-6.  No "shoot-out", but a very strong Defensive Battle.  After the game, dropped Peter, kissed Cindy goodbye and "hit the road" in the Air Mobile "Escape" Vehicle (our Ford Escape).

Drove until the Georgia Border and pulled into a Rest Area and slept.  Actually, got some pretty good sleep in that little Ford Escape.  Then up early, and drove to a Denny's in Valdosta, GA to blog and eat a good breakfast.

After breakfast, it'll be on the road again and heading to see my good friend, and brother, Ken Baker, a true "Water Mule".  Have a special delivery for him.

In checking the news and particularly, the latest on Cyclone Phailin, that slammed into India yesterday, was very blessed to hear that the initial death toll is very low due to massive evacuations.  Of course, we are sorry for any deaths, but it could have been so much worse!  Over half a million residents fled the low lying coastal region of Northeast India.

The Cyclone is slowly "slogging" through the region dumping massive amounts of rain and this will cause potentially catastrophic flooding.

Also heard from some local missionaries, Malcolm and Phyllis Blowes, who are located just north of where Cyclone Phailin made landfall and they confirmed the initial low death-toll.  We're continuing to monitor the situation.  Here's more on Cyclone Phailin - CYCLONE PHAILIN PLOWS INTO NORTHEAST INDIA

So, here we are together on another "Rambling Journey".  Can hardly wait to get to the little Tennessee Cabin and begin the next book, "Storm Dancer" (we may title it something else, like "Water Mule") but the jury is still out on the title of Book 2.

I've got this book "inside" of me and it's ready to come out.  I just hope and pray that the "Creative Juices" flow over the next week or so up in that little cabin.  Glad you're along for the ride.

PLEASE join together with me and PRAY for those millions in India that are suffering at the hands of Cyclone Phailin.  Air Mobile will deploy there as our Lord directs.  Before hitting the road yesterday, called our "Premier Water Mule" (& Chief Rescuer Builder), Rob, and requested he be ready to build Rescuers for India.  He's standing by.  We're also awaiting a shipment of critical components to build more Rescuers.  We pray that they arrive soon!

Now it's time to order a Belgian Waffle and a couple of eggs.  Then, it'll be on the road for Ken and Ruthie's home north of Atlanta.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful love, prayer and support!!

SUPER CYLCONE "PHAILIN" MAKING LANDFALL IN ONE OF THE MOST DENSELY POPULATED ON EARTH - PLEASE PRAY FOR THOSE IN THE PATH OF THIS MONSTER

Been tracking a monster in the Bay of Bengal and, as I type, Cyclone Phailin is making landfall on the Northeast Coast of India.  The death and destruction could be horrific.  At this point, the best thing we can do is PRAY!

It is reported that over 12,000,000 people live in this region and 47% are under the extreme poverty level.  Massive evacuations are taking place and again, at this point, the best thing we can do is PRAY for those in the path.

A 25+ foot Storm Surge is expected with winds currently at 160+ MPH, with some slight weakening taking place.  This is a deadly storm.  Here is more on Cyclone Phailin - 12,000,000 IN CYCLONE PHAILIN'S PATH  - We'll continue to monitor this deadly situation.

Today, we'll be inventorying and checking to see how many Air Mobile Rescuers could be prepared for deployment into India.  The next few days will reveal much about just what Super Cyclone Phailin will have done and the depth of the death and destruction. Again, we ask our Lord to protect and guide and lead the millions in the path of this terrible storm.

We know some missionaries who are currently in India and we'll be reaching out to them to seek current information "from the ground".  We know how critical clean water is following such disasters.

Later today, I will be heading to the Cabin in the mountains of Tennessee.  Cindy and I have decided that it would be good for me to get away for bit and take a shot at writing "Book 2" to follow "Run to the Roar" (Book 1).  It has been on my mind and heart for sometime to just write this book.  We're kicking around the title, "Storm Dancer".

This will also be a good time to just "come-apart" to pray and plan.  Looking forward to the next few days in the "Cabin in the mountains".  A wise man of God once said, "Prayer is striking the winning blow...service is just gathering up the results."  Oh, I do look forward to spending some quality time with my Lord!

So, it's time for me to cook a "Country Breakfast" (grits, eggs and sausage) for Peter and Ariana.  Cindy has already headed to a Ladies Prayer Meeting.  We're thankful for fresh eggs from our chickens.  Please remember to pray for those in the path of Super Cyclone Phailin today.  As always, THANK YOU for standing so faithfully with us with your prayer, love and support!

STICKER SHOCK...A LOT OF AMERICANS THINK THAT OBAMA-CARE MEANS "FREE INSURANCE"....NOT SO - SUPER CYCLONE TAKING AIM ON INDIA...PLEASE PRAY!!

So, now that it's the "Law", what does that mean for every American?  Many thought that Obama-Care would mean FREE or certainly very "cheap" insurance.  Well, not only is it not free, it's VERY EXPENSIVE.

Just wait and see what happens when all the technical "glitches" get worked out and you finally "get in" and see just what this is going to actually cost.  Just take a look at this story to see what you can expect - STICKER SHOCK...AMERICANS FLOORED BY OBAMA-CARE COST

For example, one "poor" student who was paying $75.00 per month for full coverage, will now pay hundreds per month ($319.00) with limited coverage and a $6000 Deductible!  No deal!  And the list goes on as story after story emerges at the staggering cost of this "Affordable Health Care".  Remember, anytime the Government gets involved, costs SKYROCKET!  Here's the story of the 26 year old student  OBAMA-CARE RAPED MY FUTURE - Oh, Lord, help us!

Now, with that tid-bit of good news (not really good news at all) let us go to Jesus, the Author and Finisher (Perfecter) of our faith.  We certainly need Him more than ever to navigate through these turbulent and difficult waters.

Back to Washington, DC, looks like the "Talks" that began last night have reached another stale-mate but....there is always HOPE!  Again, we continue to pray that both sides will find reason and truth and come to some agreements on what is best for America.

And to further emphasize the "Gridlock", here come the Truckers, the Bikers and the Veterans.  DC will be an interesting place this weekend!

Had a very pleasant and enjoyable lunch yesterday with an old friend, Bobby Burnette of Love A Child Ministry in Haiti.  It's always good to sit down with an old friend and just have some great fellowship.  Love Bobby and Sherry and so appreciate all they do for so many!!

Just checking the weather and have been tracking Super Cyclone Phailin.  Wow, this is a very dangerous storm and literally, millions are in the path of this monster.  PLEASE PRAY for mercy for those who are facing this terrible storm.  Here's more - SUPER CYCLONE TAKES AIM ON INDIA

Now, it's time for me to head out.  Hear the chickens calling (need to go feed them) and have more supplies to gather for "the next mission".  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

HOW QUICKLY THINGS CAN CHANGE!...SOME THOUGHTS ON HOPE & CHANGE

While sipping my coffee this morning and pondering the state of our Nation and what a mess we seem to be in, I distinctly recall my own life 42 years ago.  Wow, everything was falling apart.  Believe me, it was bad, real bad....and then....

I considered, for the first time in my life, Jesus, and WOW, did things change quickly.  I mean everything changed, and indeed, things changed for the better.  Our Lord came into my life and guided me out of mess after mess.

So...what does that have to do with our country, or any country for that matter? Historically, when nations have come to Repentance, or better known as Revival, things CHANGE.  Oh, some things take a while to sort out, but the overall state of things begin changing for the better almost instantly.

I go back to my life 42 years ago.  When I realized that God truly loved me and that He would never leave me nor forsake me, and that He forgave me, I could face today and tomorrow, just knowing that He was by my side.  The terrible condition of my life, at the time of my salvation, became more manageable and there was HOPE.

All of this leads me, this morning, to PRAY anew for our Nation to turn to the Lord.  That is when true HOPE & CHANGE takes place.  The fact is, God loves us!  Jesus did not come into the world to CONDEMN the world but to SAVE the world.  I pray that this message goes far and wide.  There is HOPE in Jesus!  I know that if Jesus can do this for me, he can do this for America!

Sometimes, when things look hopeless and the mess is just overwhelming...like a "train-wreck", it's good to just go to the Lord and PRAY.  Remember, with God, ALL things are possible.  You see, I'm having to remind myself of these things, otherwise, things can become pretty depressing.

In just a little while, an old friend, Bobby Burnett will be coming by to have a cup of coffee with me.  Bobby and his wife, Sherry, are the founders and directors of "Love A Child" ministries in Haiti.  We go way back (35 years!).  They have done so much for Haiti and are a tremendous blessing to many!

Again, I've rambled on today and THANK YOU for bearing with me.  Sometimes, the burden for America becomes so heavy, I just have to take it to the Lord and lay it at His feet.  As always, thank you for your precious love, prayer and support!!

DEAR LORD...."RESCUE" US FROM OUR GOVERNMENT!

Any pilot cringes when the FAA shows up and says..."we're here to help".  The fact is, we fly the airplanes and are more concerned about safety and how to make the aircraft fly properly than any bureaucrat ever could (don't forget, it's OUR behind strapped down in that seat).

Yet, we are a land of law and order, so for the the most part, we abide by the laws and try to live our lives as peacefully and quietly as possible.

But....things are truly getting out of hand.  When Park Rangers "forbid" World War II Veterans from visiting...possibly for the last time in their lives, a beautiful memorial in honor to their bravery, gallantry and sacrifice, things have gone too far.

And, Folks, this is the tip of the iceberg (I won't even mention the IRS!).  The Government is now in the business of "Inflicting Pain" in order to "protect itself".  I believe that people are finally waking up to the fact that our Government is "Out of Control"!

The "Battle" going on in Washington, DC is staggering.  There is so much pride and grasping for more power going on.  My simple hope and prayer is that the "Real" Situation will be revealed and that the American People will indeed stand up, and say ENOUGH!

I understand that a bunch of "Truckers" are heading to DC this weekend to let those in "Power" know that a lot of folks are very unhappy with the way things are going.  I am THANKFUL, that we, in America, can still stand up and speak our mind.  Mmmmm....wish I had a truck!

There is talk of a bunch of "Bikers" joining the "Truckers" in DC. this weekend. Just sold my Goldwing...otherwise, I'd consider taking a "spin up to DC" to lend my voice and my heart to those that are making a stand.

And finally, to add to all of this, it was just announced that another Rally, "THE MILLION VET MARCH ON THE MEMORIALS" will take place on October 13th at 9:00am.  Here's more - SUPER RALLY AGAINST THE PRESIDENT IN THE 'WORKS'

And...I'd be willing to bet that the "Main Stream Media" will not show.  Again, my hope and prayer is that those in "Power" will be looking and listening to the people of America.

Wow, just had to get some of the "steam" off of my mind.  America is truly "changing", but as we know, not all "change" is for the good.  I believe that the direction of this great Country is far off course.  It is time to both pray and voice our concerns, and ask our Lord to "Rescue" us from the Government.  Please PRAY that all the Rallies going on in DC will be peaceful but...EFFECTIVE!

OK, now that I've shared with you how I feel about the "Battle in DC", I'd like to share a shot of our newest grandchild with her Paw Paw.  Little Amelie is just beautiful...I'm not prejudice or anything...

Late yesterday afternoon, we celebrated our daughter, Angelica's 25th Birthday.  We're so proud of "Gel".  She is soon to graduate (with Honors) from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in Forensic Psychology.  We love you, Gel!!

After a feast of delicious Chinese food, we went to see the ducks and geese at a local park.  Gel, often comes here and says it's better than a "Movie".

Well, I did it again..."Rambled" on the daily blog.  Often, it's my "pressure relief valve".  Can't even begin to THANK YOU enough for "rambling" down the road with me.  Above all, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

WILL THIS BE BILLY GRAHAM'S LAST CRUSADE?  - WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE TROPICS? - WHO MAKES THE BEST CUPCAKE??

Came across this article the other day and thought I'd share it with you today.  Billy Graham, one of the most admired men in American History, will soon turn 95.  He says that he has at least one more Crusade in him.
As you read this article, note the "clear thinking" of this man of God.  Surely, America is "drenched in a sea of immorality" and the Second Coming of Jesus is drawing near.  Here's the article - "PERHAPS MY LAST MESSAGE": BILLY GRAHAM

Had a list "a mile long" as is usually the case upon my return from Haiti or some other field. Had documents to mail, Rescuer parts to position, baby food / formula to transport, our Little Donkey's scheduled inspection, a dryer that needs repair and on and on.

Meanwhile, we're keeping an eye on the Tropics and watching a few systems that are 'stewing' in the Atlantic.  Again, so thankful for the "quiet" season thus far. Here's more on what's going on - EYE ON THE TROPICS

Last night was the "Walk of Faith" Dinner for our school, Park Avenue Christian Academy. Angelica, Juliet, Peter graduated there and now our Ariana is there.   We love this school!

Well, included in the wonderful evening was "CUPCAKE WARS".  My Cindy was determined to win the "War".  She began days in advance planning her strategy to win.  The Competition was fierce.

We watched as the Judges sampled each.  Then came the Finalists and Cindy's name was called.  The elimination began and....the "Best Cupcake in the Land" went to....my Cindy!

Her award winning entry: a Chocolate cupcake with Home-made Salted Caramel Cream Cheese Icing.  It was a hit and oh, 'insanely' good!  Way to go Cindy!!

Is there another "Book" coming to follow "Run to the Roar"?  Maybe....as of late, this 'writing' thing has been stirring in my heart.  I think it's time to sit down and just write another book.  What will the Title be?  How about....'Storm Dancer'.  We're toying with the idea.  Please pray with us about this.

So, it's time to go out and check on our precious chickens and continue on with this day and the long list of things yet to be done.  As always, we are just THANKFUL for your precious prayer, love and support.  Be blessed today!!

BIG ROCKS TO HOLD A LITTLE DONKEY DOWN & SOMEBODY.... (A SCOUNDREL) HIT THE CARD

Due to a sudden and fierce storm, the other night, my good friend, Pastor Enock and I "jumped" the fence at the airport to gain access to Ti Burik (The Little Donkey).  Was concerned about it "blowing away" in the storm.  The wind was howling!  The airport Security Guard, whom I know well, simply smiled and told me to do what I had to do.

After a careful scan, there was not a single "Tie-Down" space left.  So, had to "improvise".   In the driving rain, and with the help of a couple of Haitian workers, we found two huge rocks (Haiti has NO shortage of big rocks) and pushed them across the ramp to secure Ti Burik.

So....yesterday morning, I approached our trusty little mission aircraft and with a little help, removed the rock that was pushed up to the tire on the left gear.

Then, slowly and carefully removed the big rock in front of the right main tire.

When 'in the field', one must use what one has to get the job done and those big rocks did the job of keeping Ti Burik secure in the  storm.

Now, Ti Burik was free to fly!  After a careful Pre-Flight Inspection and a quick departure clearance, I lined up on Runway 10 and pushed the throttles forward and headed home.

Had an absolutely delightful flight.  There were a number of large build-ups along the route, but they were easily "Circum- navicable" .

In other words, was able to "Dance around them".....mmmm, that would be a good name for a book - "Storm Dancer".  Something to think about.

Flew back at 14,500 and the ride was smooth as silk.  Made pretty good time.  Landed Fort Pierce after 4 hours 15 minutes.

Cindy, Peter and Ariana were already doing the Chaplain Service in Orlando, so I went to the local Airport Cafe' and got a cup of coffee and a Reuben.

Oh, forgot to tell you, forgot my thermos of Coffee in Haiti and on the way back, really missed a shot of Java to keep me sharp in the cockpit.  Ahhh, that Cafe' Coffee tasted good.

When I went to check out, my Card was declined.  Mmmm, something was wrong.  I quickly called my bank (TD) and found that there was still money in the account, but less then when I checked it last.  The Bank put a hold on the card because....they suspected something wasn't right.

Apparently, the thieves (I suppose I have to forgive them), went on a buying spree in Canada and Colorado.  They ran up $800 before the Bank shut off the card.  Thank God that's all they got.

These "buggers", whoever they are, and our Lord knows exactly who they are, bought some pretty fancy stuff with Air Mobile funds.  They will eventually (or maybe sooner) give an exact accounting for their theft.

Oh well, the bank says that I can dispute the charges and after a couple of weeks, hopefully, get the money back.

I then, quickly boarded Ti Burik in Fort Pierce and flew up to Titusville.  Secured the little bird and dashed to the bank (they're open on Sunday).  Within minutes, had a new card.  We'll keep a very close eye on the account.  Sure don't like the fact that someone can gain access.  Just another reason to pray and yes, forgive....though, I do hope and pray that the "Authorities" find them and stop them from stealing!

So, it's Monday morning.  Good to be home and have a second cup of coffee with my Sweetheart.  As you can imagine, have a pile of stuff to do.  And....as always, THANK YOU for standing with us with your love, prayer and support!

RESCUERS...REFRESHED & RE-LOADED & A SAD FLASH-BACK

Spent the whole day in Air Mobile Joe's Depot tweaking and adjusting the most amazing water purifier "on the earth" (in my humble opinion).  Love the machine!

You know, we've been doing this awhile.  We began placing "Rescuers" in Haiti in 2004 right after an "un-named" storm wreaked terrible havoc.  Over 3000 Haitians died from major flash flooding.  Whole villages were washed away.  I'll never forget those images.

I recall, we flew in a reporter, John Torres, along with Judge Robert Decatur, a Tuskeegee Airman.  John ended up traveling to many disaster sites with me and "The Judge" went to work on finding funding for over 230 Rescuers for Haiti.  Our Lord used that tragic flood to bring a lot of help and life to many.

Back to Joe's Depot, at the end of the day, we had 10 fully refreshed Rescuers "ready for action".  Their mission:  Fighting diarrhea, and a host of other water-borne diseases.  These little machines also demonstrate the love of God by bringing help in time of need.

Kevin is on the road to becoming a "Water Mule".  Since he began helping me, I've seen a positive attitude change.  He seems to not get into as much "trouble"...as 8 year old boys are prone to find themselves.  Our Lord has serious plans for this young man.

Looks like Tropical Storm Karen is "falling apart" in the Gulf.  Thank the Lord.  Just saw that there was an outbreak of Tornadoes in the Midwest with wide-spread damage.  We'll certainly be praying for those folks.

Last night, I found myself with 2 computers and my cell phone desperately trying to stream the LSU - Mississippi State "slug-fest'.  Sometimes, it's tricky to get a signal and hold it...if you know what I mean.  Between all those screens, I managed to, in a very jerky fashion, watch LSU prevail over a very determined opponent.  In the end:  LSU 59 - Mississippi State 26.  Oh, the challenges of being on the mission field.

So, it's early, the sun is just about to rise.  Have a little quiet time to just reflect on the goodness of our Lord.  Am so glad He allows me to do what I do.  His Grace is Amazing!  As always, I so appreciate your love, prayer, support and kindness.  Thank you and be blessed today.

"JUNIOR WATER MULE" IN TRAINING - SUCCESS WITH THE ATC RADIOS - ONE BAD STORM

The training of Kevin, our newest "Water Mule" volunteer (Kevin is always asking if he can help) continued on in earnest yesterday.

He's a good and diligent student and was really a lot of help yesterday.  Kevin is awaiting adoption to the U.S.  This can take years.  I've known Kevin since he was an infant.  It's cool to watch him grow and now...he's becoming a Genuine Water Mule.

When I arrived into Haiti on Monday, I knew our "stock"of refurbished Rescuers was down.  Actually, our "cupboard" was bare.  Again, "perfect timing" to keep clean water flowing!

During the coarse of the day, Kevin's little entourage hung out at the "Depot" door watching their 'big brother' working away.  After a while, I let them in and Kevin, with a serious tone explained all he had been doing to help.

One by one, we got unit after unit up and running.  I'd love to watch the expression on Kevin's face, when I cranked up the Rescuer and it functioned just like new.

By early afternoon, our number of Refreshed Rescuers had risen to 8 with the 9th awaiting final testing.  Now, that was a good day in the "Depot".

However, my day was just beginning.  After cleaning up and gathering my tools, headed to the airport to see about getting a couple of "Last Resort Radios" back on-line.  A recent line of thunderstorms and some lightening (the likely culprit) had "scrambled" some settings.

With a couple of excellent Harris Technicians on the line, my computer set up in the Port-Au-Prince Approach Control Center, we went to work.  After a bit, VOILA!  Radio reset and functioning perfectly!

We then headed over to the Control Tower, the temporary trailer positioned in the middle of the field, right next to the Runway and conducted the same adjustments on that radio.  The Haitian Engineer / Technician was with me and he actually did the adjustment.

Can't even begin to express to you how good it is to help these folks with their Air Traffic Control communications.  Have known many of the operators for 30+ years and it's a real joy working together with them.  I love it when our Lord puts a plan (or Contract) together.  Surely, 'God knows how to deploy His troops'!!

Speaking of "old friends", had dinner last night with Pastor Enock (I spoke about Enock on Wednesday) along with his wife Darbonne.  Toward the end of dinner, Darbonne pointed outside.  Whoa, the palm trees where nearly laying down in the fierce wind.  Enock and I made a dash to the airport in the driving rain and wind.

Some workers helped us to move a couple of huge stones (about 2-3 feet in diamter) to added additional ballast to keep our beloved "Little Donkey" from blowing away. Got home late and soaked.  It was a long and good day.

Speaking of Storms, Tropical Storm Karen is heading to the Gulf Coast.  We're praying for those in the path.  Here's more on Karen - TROPICAL STORM KAREN

So, the sun has risen, the roosters are all worn out and likely sleeping...anyone who has been to Haiti knows that the roosters begin crowing at about 2:00am.  Will work on a couple more Rescuers this morning and may head out to a couple of other "Old Friends" later.

I am so THANKFUL to have you on-board with your faithful prayer, love and support!  God bless!!

TRAINING KEVIN - TROUBLE-SHOOTING IN THE FIELD - TROPICAL STORM KAREN ON THE MOVE

Kevin has been in the "Village" for years.  He recently turned 8.  He's one of those kids that's always hanging around and wanting to "help".  He's followed by a couple of younger boys and when they "blow" into Joe's Depot, it's like a whirlwing, they're all hands.  They've got to touch every piece of equipment and grab every tool.  I usually have to "shoosh" them out to get any work done.

Well, the Lord dealt with me yesterday and I guess it's time to train Kevin on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.  Have seen kids younger than Kevin operate the unit throughout Haiti.  So, yesterday, it began...The Training of Kevin.  He's a bright kid and I know he'll do well.

Spent the morning in the Depot bringing Rescuers back to life and then headed into town.  With the recent storms, had a couple of "Last Resort Radios" operating at the Port-Au-Prince airport that needed some attention.

After swapping out radios and antennas, began to move in on the problem.  Was on the phone with technicians with Harris and looks like we're heading for a solution.

Today, will implement some of the procedures to see if we can get those radios working at 100%.  The fact is, equipment just need attention, even new stuff.

Going back to the Air Mobile Rescuer, I'm still amazed at what a durable machine our Lord gave us.  We have Rescuers that have been in operation in Haiti for nearly 10 years.  Like that old Timex commercial, "they take a licking and keeps on tickeng"!

As I was working on the units yesterday, just had to call my good friend, Rolf, the inventor of the Vortex Module and tell him again what a brilliant job he did.  Rolf gives God all the glory!!

Well, well, the storm that we'd been tracking south of Haiti has moved on westward and now in the Gulf and bumping on "Hurricane Status".  Looks like Tropical Storm Karen will hit somewhere between Louisiana and Florida.

This has been a slow season but...."The season ain't over with yet".  I'm thankful that it's been slow, but now things seem to be heating up a bit.  We'll keep an eye on Karen.  Here's more - TROPICAL STORM KAREN ON THE MOVE

The sun has risen, the good coffee has been consumed and it's time to head into "Joe's Depot" to bring some more Rescuer's to life.  As always, so appreciate your prayer, love and support!!  We're in this thing together!  God bless!!

33 YEARS AGO...PERFECT TIMING FOR CLEAN WATER & UH OH, HERE COMES "KAREN"

Yesterday, I was at the Haiti Civil Aviation Office and was visiting with my old friend of many years, Pastor Enock.  We first met over 33 years ago.  I was a "Rookie" Missionary Pilot and he was a young, aspiring Pastor and a new Air Traffic Controller.

Oh, we have so many stories of God's Amazing and Miraculous Grace (incredible sea-rescues, terrible storms, lives saved...souls saved & the miracles are still happening!)  Every time we get together, we just have a blast.  Well, now, Enock is the Chief Instructor for ATC at Port-Au-Prince.

I had some technical questions about Instrument Approach Procedures, so my good friend and Brother in the Lord gave me a quick lesson.

Enock is also thrilled that Port-Au-Prince is getting all new ATC equipment.  We can all breathe a little easier knowing that help is on the way.

Upon returning to our Village yesterday, was met by Pastor Etienne.  His Rescuer was in need of some much needed routine maintenance.

Had a "Refreshed" unit on hand and he was in and out in 10 minutes and now, the clean water can continue to flow.

Pastor Etienne told me about an orphanage in an isolated area and the water was very bad.  He asked if we could get them a Rescuer.  My answer was that we would pray about it.  Would you  like to help??

So, today, the "Mission" marches on.  Will be in my favorite shop, "Joe's Depot" where I bring Rescuers, many of which have been in service for nearly 10 years..."back to life".  Just love my job!  I know that when we "Refresh" a Rescuer, folks are going to get clean water.  Something so basic, but so essential to life!

Whoa!  Here comes Karen!  We've been tracking this system for the past week.  It hung out just south of Haiti for a couple of days and now, here she comes, Tropical Storm Karen.  It could head for Florida or Louisiana.  We'll certainly keep an eye on her!  Here's more on TS Karen - TROPICAL STORM KAREN HEADING FOR THE GULF!

Now, here you are, on this Journey together with me, with your prayer, love and support!  Just can't thank you enough!  Time for me to head into my shop to work on keeping that clean water flowing....one drop at a time.  God bless!!

KEEPING THE CLEAN WATER FLOWING - IMPROVING "COMMUNICATIONS"

One of the great joys that I have experienced in ministry is bringing Clean Water to different parts of the world.  Of course, Haiti is right in our "backyard", thus, we fly here quite regularly.

I am ever reminded of the simple and clear words of our Lord Jesus, "I was thirsty and you gave me to drink", then the Disciples asked, "Lord, when did we ever see You thirsty" and Jesus said...."When you've done it unto the least of these, my Brothers, you've done it unto Me" (Matthew 25:35-40).

Yesterday, while eating  breakfast, little "Tasha" was walking through the room with a 5 gallon water jug (empty) and I snapped this shot.  Little Tasha came to our village, very sick and weak.  One of Barbara's faithful helpers, Lewanna, lovingly cared for this little one and brought her to life.  Now, Tasha, just can't stop "helping" others.  She is a very sweet little girl.  This is what drives us to come back to Haiti again and again and again.

After breakfast, I headed into town to a very important meeting with the Director General (DG) Roumer of OFNAC (Haiti Civil Aviation).  The first phase of the new Air Traffic Control (ATC) Contract has been accepted and I was presented with the signed copy of the document.  PRAISE GOD!
We began this effort nearly 3 years ago and our Lord has given us favor and soon, Port-Au-Prince will have excellent Air Traffic Control equipment!

I have mentioned this project to you numerous times through this wandering blog and requested your PRAYERS!  Again, it is with great joy that I can share, our Lord certainly heard our prayers!!

So, the sun has risen, and it's time to head out into this new day...and the adventure continues.  I truly Praise God for this wonderful instrument, the "Rambling Blog" because it enables me to communicate with you and share all that our Lord is doing and also can share the challenges and the needs as we walk along this journey.

As always, THANK YOU for standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!  Be blessed today!!

CARIBBEAN SUNRISE AT 15,000 FEET - FEELING "TINY" EARTHQUAKES - A STORM BREWING AT THE "BACK DOOR"

There's just something about a Caribbean Sunrise, that is hard to put into words.  So, thought I'd endeavor to "capture" the beauty, but it still comes up short.  This was shot just before the "burst" of orange.

Then, moments later, it happened, the sun peeked over the horizon among the "Cloud Spectators".  It just takes my breath away (glad I'm on Oxygen) at 15,000.  What a CREATION!

Oh, the Little Donkey was easing right through the "Bermuda Triangle" filled with baby food, formula, diapers, medicine, Rescuer Parts, and hundreds of other "little" items essential to running a mission.  Even had a little tailwind (holding 195 mph) for some of this magnificent flight.

My sole Passenger was Mallori, by Special Request from Barbara (AKA - "Rambo in the Blue Dress").  Barb needed Mallori to help run the mission while she is stateside getting some medical attention.  Mal's family has adopted 8 Haitian Children and she knows the "routine" of "The Village".

So, as you can see, we flew to Haiti yesterday because it was just time to get back and do some work.  Have some "Rescuers" that need attention, some supplies that are needed and some positive meetings set to get Port-Au-Prince all new Air Traffic Control equipment.

Had a perfect flight (always thankful for those kind) and could see "Invest 97L" brewing just South of Haiti.  That could be next Tropical Storm in the Caribbean and possibly working it's way into the Gulf of Mexico.  Landed with about a 30 knot headwind, but the mountains of Haiti  (and prayer) seem to be keeping that storm at Haiti's Back Door.  "I hear you knocking but you can't come in" (as quoted from a very old song).  Here's more on that "brewing storm" - WATCHING THE CARIBBEAN

After unloading we headed to "The Village" and I settled in.  While checking the news on the computer, could feel an ominous little shaking (had several very, very small quakes yesterday).  They didn't even show up on the USGS Report.

Well, the sun has just risen and it's time to head out into this beautiful day that our Lord has made.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!
