THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES.....JUNE 2015

GOD'S WARNING TO AMERICA

As America is about to celebrate it's 239th Birthday, it is a time to reflect on where and who we are as a nation.

Here is a recent speech given by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn to Members of Congress.  PLEASE take a moment and listen to this.  Our "National Compass" needs to be re-calibrated!!  Here is the speech - GOD'S WARNING TO AMERICA!

I find myself PRAYING for a true Revival to sweep America.  So many do not know God and have not experienced His great love to us.  For...."God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
Son...."

Never before have I experienced such hatred toward God and hatred toward those who serve Him and it's just beginning.  What has happened to our Nation??  Folks, I can only say that "God is good" and serving Him has been the best decision of my life.

As ISIS is raging against the "Cross" and now our U.S. Supreme Court and many of our politicians have raised their fists against God, again, all we can do is PRAY for our nation to come to it's senses and surrender to God!

I am reminded again of the Words of Jesus....."The thief has come to steal, kill and destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly".  There, that is the simple and clear truth!

So, as we take a bit of time off to just pull back and yes, retreat from the battles, our hearts are being refreshed and strengthened.

We were blessed to have our good friends, Ken and Ruth drive up from North Georgia to just visit and have some sweet fellowship.  Ken has been an "Air Mobile Water Mule" for many years.

He's also a very skilled craftsman.  I've seen Ken repair so many things.  He's not afraid to tackle any job.

Well, the cabin has a pool that also doubles as a 10,000 gallon water reservoir. It was damaged during our last big ice storm up here.
Ken did his magic and pulled out all of the wrinkles and bends.  The old pool is almost like new.  Thanks Ken!

Well, it's a beautiful day here in the Smokies.  We're refilling our pool / emergency water supply here at the cabin.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

SITTING ON THE PORCH....REFLECTING

It seems the air is a bit cleaner and the sounds of the valley are strangely soothing.  The clouds gracefully dance along the ridges and I'm definitely in the "Smokies".  It's a nice place to come and unwind and just think.

Oh, there are plenty of chores to do at the TN Cabin, but still, there's enough of a disengagement to allow some wonderful and also disturbing thoughts go through my head.

The "News" is absolutely depressing.  The course that our country is taking is very disturbing.  Where will these "Decisions" take us??  Are we becoming more "Enlightened" or are we becoming darker?

As I read and reflect on the the Word of God and specifically on the Words of Jesus, He speaks of such a day when right is wrong and wrong is right.  It appears as if we are heading straight into those days.

It also means that His return is just closer and since He has promised to never leave us or forsake us, then, there is no finer hour to serve Him.  As for me and my house, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!

Today, we have some dear friends, Ken and Ruth, driving up from North Georgia.  Looking forward to some good, old-fashioned fellowship and grilled burgers and Cindy's home-made Apple Pie.

May the peace of God rule and reign in our hearts and may our batteries become fully recharged.

So, as I sit here on the porch and sip my second cup of coffee, I'm simply overwhelmed by His love.  Look forward to the days ahead, both to serve Him and to simply rest in Him.

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!  May the Peace of God, that passes all understanding, keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus!

A LOST (& FOUND) CAT AND A MISSED TURN

So, we "hit the road" bright and early and all was well.  Along with Cindy, Ariana and I, we had our newest little edition, Andy ( a very cute little dog).

We also had Beau, our wonderful and faithful 16 year old Siamese cat.  Now, Beau has quite a survival story and we really love this old cat.

We did what folks do at rest areas....took our "critters" for a walk.  Beau was a little nervous with all the noise from the passing trucks and cars and quickly headed for huge clump of bushes.

Then, it happened.  Beau slipped out of his harness and went deeper and deeper into this solid wall of shrubs.

Cindy dove in after him and was literally crawling on her belly.  Soon, a lot folks were calling for Beau.  One guy even had his "hound dog" sniff Beau's collar and was just ready to release him for the "hunt" when Cindy yelled..."Got him".

She emerged from the clump of shrubs triumphantly holding Beau.  We found our "lost cat".

That was the most exciting thing that happened.  Except....we were so elated about finding our lost Beau, that we drove right on past our intersecting highway (Interstate 26).

We were just chatting and carrying on when...things looked strangely "unfamiliar".  We drove about 40 miles up I-95 when we realized our mistake.  Fortunately, our recovery route was not too bad.

I often wonder what happens when we "miss a turn" on our journey.  Was it just a simple mistake or were we spared some accident or other such calamity?  At any rate, we saw some new scenery along our "recovery route" and we had a couple of extra hours to just visit and talk "on the road".

After our 14 hour trek from Florida, we arrived at our beloved TN Retreat Cabin, in the mountains of East Tennessee, long after the sun set.

This morning, we're just taking it easy and looking around at the cabin and figuring out what we need to repair or improve.  Oh, it's so good to get up here and just unwind and relax and reflect and pray.  Looking forward to the days ahead.

Folks, I'm not even going to comment on the rulings by the United States Supreme Court or the issue with either the Confederate or the American flag.  It's just gives me a head-ache to even think about it.  For now, we'll just let that water pass under the bridge.  It's time for a little serious "R&R".  As always, THANK YOU for your awesome and precious prayer, love and support!!

"ON THE ROAD AGAIN" & TURNING WEEDING INTO AIRFARE

We're up early, about to hit the road for Tennessee and a much needed rest at the cabin.  We're even looking forward to the "ride".  Our journey will take us over the flat-lands of Florida and gradually bring us up to the Blue Ridge and then finally, the Tennessee Smoky Mountains.

Looking back over these last few months, it's like a blur with a thousand images going through my head.  It's definitely time to "re-charge" our batteries.

Yesterday, we had a number of the "Mexico Mission Team" at our home helping to "raise" the funds for their airfare, by doing a lot of yard work (weeding) at our and other homes.  They left our home and did the same with other members of our church.

We're glad Peter will be joining that team, as we recently sent 2 Air Mobile Rescuers to Armonia, Mexico.  Peter will able to do a "service call" to be sure those Rescuers are in good working order and pumping clean water.

If all goes well, we'll be at the long-awaited, much needed little Tennessee cabin by sundown.  Please pray that we have safe and pleasant journey.  As always, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

WATER & FOOD

It was a joy to have our good friends, Bob and Mairi over for dinner and a deep discussion on how we can get some desperately needed food to India and beyond.  My Cindy prepared a wonderful dinner for us.

I first met Bob in Haiti immediately following the terrible Haiti Earthquake of 2010.  Bob has since formed an amazing organization, "Deliver the Difference", that provides literally millions of meals to the hungry both at home and abroad.  To learn more, here's the link - DELIVER THE DIFFERENCE

We've worked together on "Food & Water" projects in Haiti and now, we're looking to expand this vital outreach to India and also set up strategic "Food Distribution Centers" here in America.

Our meeting last night was rich and precious.  We know that we're on the right course when we're able to share to Love of God by meeting peoples needs.

We also shared stories of how Jesus has "shown Himself" to us in wonderful ways.  When we reach out to the hungry and thirsty, we're truly reaching out to Jesus....."When you've done it unto the least of these, my Brethren, you've done it unto Me".....Jesus

We were joined by Patti and Olivia who recently came with us on our latest India Mission.  Patti, a school teacher and her daughter Olivia proved to be extraordinary Team Members in India.

Olivia is considering returning to India after graduation and assisting us in setting up a comprehensive feeding program in the villages that were devastated by recent flooding.  Our Lord is truly putting a program together.

Earlier yesterday, I had lunch with Dr. Aaron in Orlando.  Aaron is such a good example of one who, literally, drops everything to reach out and help others.

Aaron was an invaluable team member in both the Philippines and Nepal.  We're so THANKFUL for folks like Aaron who come along beside us and help us to help others!

Again, where would we be without so many folks helping us to help others?!!  We're so THANKFUL to the Lord for sending folks our way!!

Today, we have some young people coming over who are raising money for a mission trip to Mexico.  They'll be doing some gardening / yard work and we'll be contributing to their mission trip.  It's a "win-win" deal.

So, on this Saturday morning, it's good to be alive and serving the Lord.  We're, as always, extremely THANKFUL to have you with us on this winding journey.  God bless you and THANK YOU again for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A GOOD REPORT & GRACE IN THE COURTROOM

Did you receive an e-mail from Cindy and I early this morning?  We sent out a Report on our latest India / Nepal Mission. If you did not receive it, here's the link - "COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU"!

Also, if you're not on our e-mail list and would like to be, simply jot me a note requesting to be put on it and we'll be sure to put you there.

BTW, we WON'T spam you or send you a bunch of stuff.  We usually send out a report every month or two.  Here's my e-mail:  airmobilejoe@gmail.com

The India / Nepal report is full of great pictures and some wonderful videos, "capturing" this latest Air Mobile "Mission".  Hope you enjoy it.

Yesterday, Peter (our 18 year old) and I showed up at the courthouse early, for his "hearing" on a traffic ticket.  Years ago, I signed up for "Pre-Paid" Legal and this gave us an attorney at no charge.  We exercised the benefit and our Attorney showed up right on time.  BTW, the Attorney did a superb job.

Since this was Peter's first ticket and the "infraction" (a slow-roll through a stop sign) caused no injury or damage, we asked for "Grace" and we received "Grace".

The Judge dropped (adjudicated) the "3 points" and the ticketing officer reduced the charge of...."running a stop sign" to an "equipment violation", thus, reducing the cost of the ticket.  The judge even gave Peter 120 days to pay the ticket.  We walked out of the courtroom pleased.  Thank God for "Grace"!

I am reminded of the wonderful Scripture....."Ask and you shall receive...." found in Matthew 7:7.  Peter knew he was guilty of the charge, but after we prayed about it, he decided to simply ASK the judge (and the ticketing officer) for Grace.

Another well known Scripture says...."You have not because you ask not".  We all find ourselves in "Violation" of something from time to time.  Whether it is a "Traffic Ticket" or sharp word to a loved one, etc. etc..

The truth is, we're ALL flawed and find ourselves "guilty" occasionally.  We can simply accept the "judgement" (or deny guilt... this really doesn't turn out well) or we can admit our guilt and ask for "Grace".

Now, in Peter's case, I know that he'll be much more aware of his circumstances when he approaches the next "Stop Sign".

This was a great experience for Peter and it's also a good reminder for me to "Call upon the Lord" in my life.  Oh yes, it helped a lot having a good "Attorney", who gave us excellent counsel.

Mmmm, this is just what our Lord Jesus does for us.  He knows that we're flawed and we need His help and He's there to defend us when we get into trouble.  He paid the price for each and every one of our sins.  Yes, this was a very good lesson, indeed.

This evening, Cindy and I will be having Bob & Mairi over for dinner.  Bob is the Founder of "Deliver the Difference", a ministry that provides food to the hungry.  We'll be discussing ways to work together to get food and water to the thirsty and hungry.  What a blessing to be able to be used by our Lord.

Again, we couldn't do what we do without your precious prayer, love and support!  We're so THANKFUL to have you on-board with us.  God bless!!

WHAT''S HAPPENING TO AMERICA??

Is it my imagination, or does America seem to be "crumbling" right before our eyes??    After being away for just a few weeks and coming home to this great country, it seems that there are battles going on that are just "staggering"!

One "Leader" (??) is calling for the taking down of the "AMERICAN FLAG" now.  When is this insanity going to stop.  We are who we are.

America has "History" and it's not all pretty.  WE ALL HAVE HISTORY and yes, according to the Bible...."ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD!"  The truth is, we learn from our past and from our mistakes!!

OK, I had to get that out of the way.  Last night, I awakened in the middle of the night (very common when "processing" jet-lag).  I just lay in my comfortable bed and thought about those, half way around the world, that are dealing with life and death issues.  Like, where is the next morsel of food coming from, or....if I drink that water, I'll likely die.  Those images are so real and current in my mind and heart.

The issue of our "Flag" falls in significance.  Oh Lord, help us and help America to see clearly!! This does bring me to a conclusion.  We need to PRAY FOR AMERICA, that it will come to its senses and be a force of good in this world and help those in need.  America has always shined when it does just that.

So, this morning, my son, Peter and I are going to court.  Peter "rolled" through a stop sign and he's seeking a little "Grace" from the judge.  He's a good driver and has an excellent driving record.

We'll see if the judge has any grace for Peter.  You know, WE ALL NEED GRACE, because we are flawed creatures.  I'm THANKFUL for God's AMAZING GRACE!

Thank you for bearing with me through my "rant" this morning about this battle over the flag.  I pray we don't take down the American Flag.  As always, THANK YOU for standing with us with your prayer, love and support!!

RELIVING A MISSION IN A MISSION IN A MISSION IN A MISSION....

These last 7 weeks have been an absolute "Whirlwind"!  Have literally circled the globe 2+ times with "Missions" to Haiti, then Nepal, then the wedding of our daughter, Juliet and the graduation of our son, Peter, then another Mission to Haiti, then a Mission to India and then, finally back to Nepal.  Whoa!  That's a lot of "Missions" in a very short period of time!

As you know, I write a "Blog" every single day (have to be a little "crazy" to do that!).  Well, this morning, over a couple of cups of coffee, I went on my Facebook page and just scrolled backwards to when this last "flurry" of "Missions began and I matched up the "blog" with the "Facebook" accounts and....tears are in my eyes.

As I watched those video clips of "hanging on the edge" of the Himalayan mountains to bring folks clean water and the smiles on the faces of the children and the awesome appreciation from the adults, my heart just went back there.

These clips weren't just every now and then, much of our journey to the most affected areas was on roads just like this.  Landslides were everywhere and happening all the time.  Our lives were truly in the Lord's hands!

Then, I watched the video that Sam made of our India mission and again, I cried...for joy at being able to be a "Co-Laborer" with Christ.  And you know, the really cool thing is that you have joined us with your prayer, love and support!  That's no small thing and I want you to know just how much we appreciate your being with us as we "GO"!

So, here we are back in the U.S..  Back to good roads and clean water and well stocked stores and so many blessings.  We're back to "normal".  Been knocking down the "To Do List" and getting ready to head to the "Mountains of East Tennessee" for a little rest and relaxation, and this is a good thing!  There's a time to "re-charge" one's batteries.

Was on the phone with Barbara in Haiti yesterday.  We've begun gathering supplies for our next Haiti mission.  She needs baby food and formula and more.  That will likely be our next mission, but our Lord is the "Mission Director".  We'll GO where He directs.

I hear our chickens calling me for some food.  Time to go collect the eggs and get on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made.

As always, THANK YOU again for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

A "CHURCH FOR RENT" SIGN & A PHONE CALL

Our Air Mobile Headquarters building, was, at one time, a church.  We have been only using half of the building and one day, our "Water Mule", Doug, suggested we put a "Church For Rent" sign out.  We did.

A number of calls came in, but then, Lenny called. I could hear something in his voice that sounded very encouraging.

One thing led to another, and now, he and his wife, Brandi, and their children have moved down to "plant a church", right here in our building, in an area of town that could really use a church.  Love it!!

Then, Austin, the tall young man in the middle called and asked if we had any projects that he could assist with.

For you see, Austin is very close to achieving his "Eagle Scout" and needs a good project.  Hmmmm, how about helping us to get this old building ready for a church?  Besides, the Air Mobile portion could really use some "sprucing up".  A plan came together!!

BTW, Austin's Dad, Darrell, flies for Delta Airlines and he recently donated 7 "Buddy Passes" to get our team to both India and Nepal.  Praise God!!

Yesterday, we all met to see just where Austin and his team of volunteers can best be used to get this old building ready to be a "Lighthouse of Hope" in this neck of the woods.  OK, you know it's coming....."Surely, God knows how to deploy His troops".  Glad for Austin's heart to serve!

After our good meeting with Austin and Lenny, Cindy and I just ran errands and worked on knocking down our "To Do List"....it's quite long.  At the end of the day, we decided to go see "Jurassic World."  Whoa...what a movie.  We really enjoyed it.

The "Old Jet Lag" is not as powerful as it once was.  I'm almost....back to normal.  Just get real tired in the afternoon, but my internal clock is slowly getting back into "synch" with my location.

Today, will be having lunch with my good friend, Steve, a NASA Scientist.  Steve has been invaluable in helping us to keep the Air Mobile Rescuer in the "Test" mode with NASA.  We believe that one day, the Rescuer is going into outer-space to bring our astronauts good, clean drinking water!

So, as always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A HUGE THANK YOU, FOR YOUR PRECIOUS PRAYERS!! & TRIUMPH IN CHARLESTON!

Many of you followed our latest "Mission" step by step.  Others checked in from time to time. But one thing I know...we were supported by your prayers!  Our whole team is home.  Yesterday, Dr. Aaron crossed the threshold of his home here in Florida and so did Kurt in Japan.

Our Lord safely delivered our whole team to India / Nepal to accomplish His mission of bringing clean water and His love to thirsty and desperate people.  And.... after our mission was accomplished, He brought our team all the way home, safe & sound ....by Father's Day!  Perfect timing.

Yesterday was simply beautiful.  Our family arose early and went to church and then to the Hospital in Orlando.  We were able to train new Team members, Lenny and his wife Brandi.  They are the newest addition to our Air Mobile Team.

Sermons, all across America, resounded with love and forgiveness despite the terrible tragedy and evil act, carried out by one young man in Charleston, SC.

Family after family, though grieving and deeply wounded, offered God's forgiveness to the young man that carried out these senseless murders.  Thank you, Lord, for being in the midst of this tragedy!

The Charleston Church re-opened in Triumph yesterday.  That, which the Devil intended for bad, our Lord has turned for good.  PRAISE GOD!  Here's more - CHARLESTON CHURCH RE-OPENS IN TRIUMPH OVER 'DEVIL' MASSACRE

Must tell you something that happened to Garrett and I when we were in Atlanta on Saturday morning, while searching for a couple of "seats" home.

We were standing in a line when a young man came running into our area and jumped right to the front of the line. He had 2 green duffel  bags on his shoulders.  He was obviously in the U.S. Military.  I started to say something to him like...."Hey, we've been standing here for about 20 minutes", but the Lord urged me to be quiet.

I could see deep pain in his face.  He looked straight at me and told me that his wife was among the dead in Charleston.  He was desperate to get home and his flight was leaving in just minutes.

The Delta Gate attendant asked him to wait, just a moment....I leaned over, put my hand on his hand, and asked if I could pray for him.  He quietly nodded.  Everyone in the line instantly knew what was happening.  We all quietly prayed for the young man and his family.

The next instant, the Delta Agent told him to RUN to the flight.  We just all stood there, quietly praying as he dashed 'home'.  I don't know who the young man was, but my heart goes out to him and his family and we pray for God's Grace to overwhelm them in the midst of this terrible tragedy.

Let us continue to PRAY for those in Charleston and all across America for God's love to rule and reign in our hearts.  It is time for America to rise up in love and faith and forgiveness and lay aside hatred and bitterness.  May this incident in Charleston be the "turning point" in our great nation to bring us back to God!

Yesterday after our service in the Hospital to the young folks and the adults, we returned home.  I was completely exhausted.

But...after a slight "re-charge" of my batteries, I had to see our newest Grand-daughter, little Cecelia.  Oh, folks, she is just precious.  She's our 9th Grandchild.  My heart melted as I saw this precious little one.

Well, back in America and home, I sit at my little desk and have a pile of stuff to do.  We'll be quite busy for this week.  Our family hopes to slip up to the Tennessee Cabin by this weekend.  Please pray we get all done what we must get done before our little "Retreat"!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

NOT ONLY DID WE FIND SEATS, BUT.....

One of them was 1st Class!!  Our Lord is so good to us!  As you know, from yesterday's very brief and "choppy" blog, Garrett and I had flown half way around the world from Dubai (15 hours 45 minutes on one leg alone) and found ourselves in Atlanta.... stuck.

Every flight was booked solid.  We had already been "bumped" 3 times and it looked like the 4th flight was just as full when suddenly ....Delta changed the aircraft to a 767-300 and there were plenty of seats including one extra First Class seat.  I took it!

Sat next to gentleman from Massachusetts who was going to a funeral.  Glad to have met him and will be praying for his family for their loss.

Oh, it was so good to get home.  Both my Cindy and Cindy, Garrett's Mom, along with Peter and Ariana were there to get us.  We went and had a celebration dinner.

Then, it hit me!  I began to stagger and could barely stand up.  After multiple back to back to back missions and a 10+ hour time change and total of 56 hours from the time we departed Kathmandu, Nepal until I crossed the threshold of my home....I simply collapsed in bed and went straight to sleep.

Of course, was up at 3:26am this morning texting folks half way around the world...but that just goes with the territory of turning one's internal clock completely "upside down".  It'll take a few days for me to return to being "somewhat normal".

Well, just got word from Kurt that he landed safely in Japan and Dr. Aaron got "bumped up" to First Class on the Dubai - Atlanta leg.  He should be home by this afternoon...if he can get out of Atlanta.  So, all of our team is nearly home after this "Grand and Glorious Adventure" of bringing clean water and the love of God to the thirsty.

Must back up a little bit and tell you about our "layover" in Dubai.  First of all, this is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen.  The architecture simply takes one breath away and....so does the 110 degree heat.  But air-conditioning makes that go away.

Our "Guide" was Johnny, from the Philippines, who is now living in Dubai.  Johnny came to us from Dr. Aaron who knew Johnny from the Philippines.

As a matter of fact, Johnny arranged tremendous logistics for Aaron and I when we went to the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan.  Again....."Surely God knows how to deploy His troops"!!  Johnny was great and we're thankful for his help taking us around Dubai.

And while we were "touring" Dubai, Kurt was deploying an Air Mobile Rescuer in an orphanage in Kathmandu.  Kurt did a great job and also was a blessing to our Nepal Tech Team training them on important aspects of electrical testing and operation.

We're so THANKFUL that Kurt joined us on this mission. And now, Kurt is a "Certified Air Mobile Water Mule"!  That will come in handy in the days ahead!!

We have so many incredible memories and there were many "breath-taking" events (like hanging on the side of a mountain with landslides everywhere) and beautiful buildings (Dubai) and joy and sadness and courage and the list goes on and on.  All I can say is THANK YOU, LORD for this grand privilege to serve You!

And finally, I'd like to share a wonderful Video that was put together by our precious brother in India, Sam.  He simply "Captured" the India outreach with this little video.  Please take a moment and watch it and you'll understand a bit more about why we do what we do.  AIR MOBILE SAVING LIVES IN INDIA 2016

So, it's Sunday morning in America and we're getting ready to go to Church and then to the Hospital to minister with the young and adults there.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!  So glad you're on-board with us!!!

AIR MOBILE TEAM BACK IN THE U.S.!!  NOW, TRYING TO GET A SEAT FROM ATLANTA TO ORLANDO

PRAISE GOD!!  Garrett and I found seats on Delta from Dubai to Atlanta.  It was a very long flight - 15 hours - 45 minutes.  The sky was relatively smooth.  Upon landing in Atlanta, however, we're having a tough time finding 2 seats to get back to Orlando.  We've already been bumped off one flight and the next one looks full-full.  So...we stand-by.

Oh, there's so much that I want to write about this awesome Mission to India and Nepal.  But, time is limited and we're right at the gate trying to find those 2 seats.  Please PRAY that we get home after this long journey.

God bless and THANK YOU for standing with us and meandering down this grand adventure with us.  Your pray, love and support is so vital to the success of this mission!!!

ANOTHER "SWITCH-BACK"

Yesterday was our last day in Kathmandu.  Our team had breakfast and it was time to "split up" for the long journey home (kind of sounds like something out of "The Lord of the Rings" (sic).

Dr. Aaron and Garrett were first to depart.  They were going home by way of a little India detour, that would include a visit to the Taj Mahal.

Kurt, our latest "Water Mule", would be staying for a couple of extra days and deploying another Rescuer in an orphanage before returning home to Japan.  I would be heading home via Dubai later in the afternoon.

Kurt and I were having a cup of coffee when Garrett showed up!  Uh oh....something went wrong!  He was denied passage on the Air India jet because, though he still had time on his India Visa, it was only a "Single Entry" and he had already entered India once.

The road threw us another "Switch-back"!  We went into emergency mode.  All plans for a casual morning changed.

We grabbed a taxi and dashed straight to the Air India office in downtown Kathmandu.  We had been there several times before straightening flights out.  The agent knew us.  She did her 'magic' and it was done.  Garrett would be coming home with me.

Since we were already downtown, we did a little shopping. Then, back to the hotel to gather up our bags including 2 blue tubs full of souvenirs, tools and...3 in 1 coffee (an Asian specialty).

Made it to the airport with plenty of time and boarded our Air India Jet for Delhi and then Dubai.  BTW, Garrett was allowed on-board this time, because we would only be in "Transit" through Delhi.

As Garrett and I were flying out of Nepal, Garrett snapped this last shot of one of the majestic mountains in the Himalayas.  We'll forever be changed by Nepal.  Our Lord has taught us so much on this Nepal Mission!!

Meanwhile, Dr. Aaron did visit the Taj Mahal and is having a grand time on his little "excursion" of India.  We so appreciate Aaron's willingness to join us on these life-saving missions.

Once Garrett and I landed in Dubai, my "battery" was almost dead.  We went to the same Hotel that Cindy and the India team stayed at last week and absolutely "collapsed" in exhaustion.

Slept in this morning because....our flight doesn't depart until later this evening.  BTW, we'll be taking our last leg of this long journey on Delta Airlines, thanks to our great friend and fellow pilot, Captain Darrell Gordon.

We'll be taking in a few of the sights of this spectacular city, Dubai.  So, as we continue this long journey "half way around the world" home, we just rejoice in all our Lord has done.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - This evening (Dubai Time), Garrett and I will be boarding a Delta flite (assuming there are 2 seats available) for the U.S.  I may not have time to write a blog before we board, so....I may not write again until after we land in Atlanta.  The flight will be 14 hours and we land very early on Saturday morning (U.S. time).

So, if you don't see a morning blog, just check back in and I'll do my best to give you a, hopefully, good flight report.  It'll be good to be back in the U.S., but, I already miss India and Nepal!!  Oh, these back to back missions have drained me emotionally.  All I can say is...God is good!

BEGINNING THE LONG JOURNEY HOME

At some point, in every mission, there is a time to point your nose toward home.  That time has come on this Nepal Mission.

Our team will split up and go each our own way toward the front door of our home and "eventually", but God's help and grace, we'll cross that threshold.  From the time we board the jet (not an old DC-3) here in Kathmandu, until we land in Orlando it will be about 50 hours.  Kind of like a bunch of "Switchbacks".

Speaking of "Switchbacks" take a look at this quick little video, again shot by our intrepid, extraordinary "Water Mule",  Dr. Aaron,  Our journey has been filled with excitement and danger and victory and joy and sadness.  Oh my, my heart is full as I plunk out this little blog this morning.

Looking back on the Nepal Mission and then the India Mission, I stand in awe at all of the things that our Lord has done with us, through us and in us.

Why....I could write a book.  Actually, I have already written one (Run To The Roar) and it's getting time to write that second book, but that's another story.

Yesterday was an absolutely "awesome" day of training!  We had the perfect oppportunity to train our "Nepal Techs" on deeper aspects of trouble shooting and successful operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.

Since we shipped a total of 26 Air Mobile Rescuers into Nepal "half way around the world", there is always the possibility of a unit getting damaged in "transit".

We thought it wise to take all of the "un-deployed" units and open them up and actually test each one to be sure that the unit made the journey without  damage.  We actually found several that had "little glitches" as a result of the 10,000 mile journey and quickly repaired and indeed, "troubleshot" the problems.

Oh, it was a great training day and...our Nepal Team is confident that each unit that will be deployed is in perfect operational condition.

Unit by unit came up and tested beautifully.  Each time, our team became more and more confident in the themselves and the Rescuer.

Kurt, from Japan, has tremendous electrical knowledge and was able to train the Techs on the usage of the Volt-Ohm meter (that he donated to the team.  This was invaluable training.

Once all were tested, we re-assembled the units for final packing before deployment.  Here, Jaya worked with me, as Garrett looked on.

BTW, many of the shots in this rambling blog covering this Nepal mission were taken by Garrett.  Good job, Garrett!

Jaya was also our driver and safely delivered us to and from some extremely dangerous and hard-to-reach areas.

When the last unit was tested and verified, we lined them up and took this great shot.  Now, the Nepal Tech Team is ready to head out the door and deploy the rest of these "near-miracle" water purifiers.

So, ended this long but wonderful day of training with a magnificent meal at "Vespers" in downtown Kathmandu.  BTW, if you ever come to Kathmandu, I strongly recommend this place.  One of the finest meals I've ever had!

This morning, our team is doing the final pack up.  Garrett and Aaron will be flying out this morning and will spend an extra day in Delhi and will actually see the Taj Mahal.  I will just fly to Dubai and then home.  Kurt will spend an extra day and deploy another Rescuer in an orphanage.

It's with mixed joy that we end this mission.  Oh, it's time to get home.  Have missed my Cindy and kids and.....our precious daughter Cherie gave birth to our 9th grandchild!  Can hardly wait to see her.  But, this mission has been filled with so many miracles...we don't want them to end.  And...they don't have to.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

BACK TO OUR BASE CAMP....KATHMANDU

After 4 Rescuer Deployments in schools in areas that have been devastated by the last 2 major eathquakes, we "hit the road" for our "Base Camp" back in Kathmandu.

Yesterday, our day began at the "Chili-me Guest House" (I put the hyphen in). It is located about 7000 feet in the Himilayas.

It was great place to sleep and "recharge" our batteries after a very, tough and "thrilling" trek by truck.

Here's the clip that Aaron took on our journey in on Monday.  It pretty much "captures" the drama of the journey.

As our team gathered to pray, before deploying some more Rescuers, Rob let out an "ouch" as he hit a nerve in his ankle.

We first prayed for his healing and then....Dr. Aaron put his skills to use again, by adjusting that ankle.  Good to have an excellent Chiropractor with us!!

Our team then split up and headed out to bring clean water to schools that have been so affected by these terrible quakes.

My team climbed to nearly 8000 feet (my watch showing 7720). The air was a bit thin, but we'd been gradually getting use to it.

There were numerous times where, the very, very narrow 1 lane mountain road had to accomodate 2 vehicles at the same time.  One has to find a tiny cleft as the other passes literally within less than 1" between.  Pretty scary stuff!

Behind us was the majestic mountain by Langtang (23,734').  That was the village that a massive avalanche completely wiped out.  The death toll was into the hundreds.

We arrived at our school and trained 5 teachers on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.  This school, has just over 300 students.  It is extremely isolated and now, they have very clean water!  Praise God!!

As our team was deploying, Aaron and Garrett were doing the same thing to the east of us.  They make a great team and now, another school with about 400 students will have access to very clean water.

Then, Aaron and Garrett reached another school and did the same thing again.  By early afternoon, our 2 teams had deployed 3 Rescuers, bringing a lot of clean water and the love of God to hundreds and hundreds.

Our 2 teams then met up and had a pleasant lunch together at the "Hotel Sky" in Rasuwa.  It was there that Beni, the Director of Compassionate Hands for Nepal complained of some neck pain.  Dr. Aaron to the rescue again.

Altogether, our 2 teams deployed a total of 4 Rescuers in just over 24 hours.  We traversed many miles of very treacherous roads, often precariously close to the edge.  Rain threatened us the whole time, but our Lord graciously held it back all along our route.

We did encounter one truck that was struck by multiple large rocks and pushed right to the edge of the cliff.  Again, we're just THANKFUL to the Lord for His protection upon our team.

We arrived back into Kathmandu late yesterday evening.  Our team was exhausted and we collapsed into those nice comfortable beds at the Hotel Indreni Himalaya.

Today, we'll be doing some more training for our Nepal Team who will be keeping that clean water flowing.

All I can say is....THANK YOU JESUS for your awesome grace and protection on this mission thus far.  What a joy to serve you!!  As always, and I so mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and vital prayer, love and support!!

WHAT A JOURNEY!!!!

I'm sitting in the Himalayan mountains in a small village where we just deployed an Air Mobile Rescuer.  My signal is extremely limited, but here's my best shot at a quick blog this morning.

Our Team was up early yesterday to hit the road for our first destination, a school very close to the Tibet border.

What we thought would be 6 hour drive ended up taking close to 8 hours.  There was evidence everywhere of MANY rock slides.  There was a lot of mud from recent rains.

Dr. Aaron "captured" a 59 second clip showing just what this road was like.  I'm going to put the link to his Facebook page and I hope that you can view this "hair-raising" ride.  Here's his link:  DR. AARON'S FACEBOOK TO "ON THE EDGE"

We encountered heavy equipment clearing out most recent rock slides.  We even encountered one truck that took a direct hit from some huge boulders. He was hanging precariously on the edge of the narrow road that would have resulted in a 200 foot drop off.  We prayed a lot along the way!!

We arrived at the School at Thambuchet, Nepal as the sun was setting.  The Principal who was also the Pastor of the Church, was an excellent student.

Dr. Aaron did the initial training.  It was such a joy to donate the gift of clean water to this ministry.  Praise God for his faithfulness.

After the presentation, the Pastor had arranged for 8 beds for our 8 man team.  Served us a delicious Nepalese dinner and now, I'm hanging on the "thread" of a signal and am praying that I can post this blog.

The sky is very overcast this morning.  There had been some rain last night. This is making the roads even more treacherous.  Please pray that we get to our next destinations with CLEAN WATER and the LOVE OF GOD!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

FRESH TROOPS - PREPARING TO GO....INTO THE HEART OF DESTRUCTION

Dr. Aaron arrived in Kathmandu yesterday and with him, he had 4 more Air Mobile Rescuers, bringing our total on this mission to 19.  Last month, Air Mobile brought in 7 Rescuers, bringing our total in-country to 26!  Praise God!

You may recall, Aaron has joined Air Mobile in the Philippines several times and is very experienced with the Air Mobile Rescuer.

Having him here will allow our team to split up and do multiple deployments simultaneously.

Yesterday, we planned, prepped and packed for our next "launch" into the some of the hardest hit areas in all of Nepal.

Rob, an 18 year veteran missionary to Nepal and I went over the areas that could most use the Rescuers at this time.

We now have 2 complete "Solar" systems in country that allows us to go into areas where there is absolutely no electricity.  We trained our Nepal technicians on the set up of the new system.

In between the preparation for deployment, I found a few extra minutes so....got my haircut by an expert Nepalese barber.

He did a great job and....next mission to Nepal, will be sure to get another one!  BTW, it cost $1.00!

Aaron joined me at the local barber shop and got shaved by an apprentice 13 year old.  The young man did a super job...not a single nick.

We're keeping a very close eye on the weather.  There is an 80% - 60% chance of thunderstorms for the next few days.

Landslides are a huge danger and several days ago, 58+ died in a massive landslide in Eastern Nepal.

Our mission today takes us into the Northeast region very close to the Tibet border.  We will have 6+ hours of driving to get to our "staging area".  We hope to deploy between 6-8 Rescuers over the next few days.

PLEASE remember us in your prayer, as the conditions are potentially treacherous.  We're certainly seeking the Lord for wisdom and guidance.  And yes, as always, THANK YOU for your faithful and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

TECH DAY - TRAINING VIDEO / MONITORING MONSOON RAINS....LANDSLIDES / AWAKENED BY A QUAKE

Air Mobile is blessed to have good "Tech Support"... just when it's needed.  Kurt, a long-time missionary and electrical/computer guru, who serves in Japan has come to assist our team.

Over breakfast yesterday, I mentioned a dilemma I was having with back-ups and memory.  Kurt smiled and said, perhaps he could help.

Since Saturday in Nepal is like Sunday, our morning was free until the afternoon.  We spent the whole morning backing up critical information and exploring new ways to ease my memory problem....(in my computer).

BTW, Cindy and I met Kurt in Japan following the devastating 2011 earthquake.  We share some interesting memories together, like driving through the edge of the "radiation" zone surrounding the crippled Fukushima Nuclear plant.

Kurt has been very interested in the Air Mobile Rescuer for some time and has spent hours on the phone with our NASA Engineering contacts discussing the various capabilities of the Rescuer.  He's now with us in Nepal deploying Rescuers.  Thanks for coming, Kurt.

In the afternoon, we set up our Air Mobile Rescuer Repair facility in the Headquarters for "Compassionate Hands for Nepal" and....we made several "Training Videos" on the set up / maintenance and trouble shooting for the Rescuer.

First, we had to move all of the Rescuers and supplies to our new "Home".

These training videos will be invaluable to keep the Rescuers pumping clean water to the thirsty and needy!

Rob, behind the camera, is a long-time missionary to Nepal, and has wonderful "movie-making" capabilities.  He and Beni have made a number of Christian films.

Again, I never cease to marvel at how our Lord puts things together. We've needed a good training video for some time.....I just had to come to Nepal to get it!

Was also able to demonstrate the strong capability of the Rescuer on the video by filling our "supply bucket" with filthy sandals...just to "sweeten the pot" and clearly demonstrate that this little machine can take very dirty water and make it very clean!

Of course, after making the bucket water dirty, I took a good drink.  Yes, the Rescuer really works!!

We actually made 2 separate Videos.  One for set-up and maintenance and one for actual trouble-shooting and repair.  These videos will be invaluable in helping the Rescuer operation in Nepal (and beyond) to be "Sustainable".  Praise God!

We'll be deploying more Rescuers today.  Several days ago, heavy, monsoon rains, caused a massive landslide in eastern Nepal.  The death toll is 58 and climbing.  We're keeping a very close eye on the weather.

In the early hours, we were awakened by an earthquake.  It was Garrett's first-ever earthquake.  He'll not forget it!

Also, this morning, I'm very pleased that Dr. Aaron will be arriving here in Nepal.  Aaron has proven to be an extraordinary "Water Mule", having served with us in the Philippines.  It's also good to have Dr. Aaron here to give us some much needed "Adjustments"...Aaron's a great Chiropractor.  Again...."Surely, our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"!!

So, it's Sunday morning here in Nepal.  The sun has just risen.  The sky looks overcast and we're hoping it won't rain.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer and greatly APPRECIATED prayer, love and support!!

6-13-15 Saturday 5:57AM (Nepal Time) - Kathmandu, Nepal - Air Mobile Team in Nepal - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

INTO THE HEART OF DESTRUCTION

Began yesterday by "re-tracing" some of the steps that we made on our first mission to Nepal (about a month ago).  Visited Mr. Sitoula, the Chief of Terminal Management.

He had graciously given us Badges and a Driver, allowing us to make vital contact with the U.S. Marines on our first visit. This provided us with critical information for successful Rescuer deployments.

Our purpose of this visit:  Simply to say THANK YOU, and give a good report on our first mission and let him know that we were back with more life-saving clean water machines.  It was a VERY good visit (one filled with God's Favor)!

Then, we "hit the road" toward an area that was just ravaged by both recent earthquakes.  As we passed one small village and rounded the turn, Beni pointed out a mountainside that had been burned.

He explained that this is where the 2nd relief helicopter had crashed recently, killing all 5 on-board. My heart just broke as I stood gazing at the power-lines, (almost invisible to the eye) which were the cause of this tragic crash.

Also, these brave souls had given their lives in the effort to help others.  There was a somber sadness in our vehicle as we moved on toward our destination.
The evidence of destruction from both earthquakes was everywhere.  The need for fresh, clean drinking water is profound.  Our "Mission" is clear!

Often, the road was only one lane, extremely narrow with very steep drop offs and no guard rails.  We have a very good driver.  Thank God!

We arrived to the community that was just across a river to our final destination.  We were about to bring fresh, clean drinking water to a school of 600 students.

I noticed another dear senior lady amid the rubble.  Garrett and I continued to view the destruction and await Beni who was sending for the Principal of the School.

Then, the lady in red and yellow was standing before me.  Her eyes and face told me of her suffering.  Again, my heart broke for these dear ones who have lost so much.  We pray for them.

We then crossed the river to the small town of Lamosanghu where the school was located. Thank God for this foot bridge.  It did not seem to be damaged in the earthquakes.

Garrett entertained the kids while the town leaders gathered for the training and presentation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.

The little girls were particularly fascinated by this young, handsome, American who had come to bring them clean water.

We met under a big tree at the heart of this small town and began to set up this "wonder machine".

The training went well and we got that clean water flowing.

Then....I took that first drink!  The folks were convinced that this machine really worked!  Of course, you can't see it in this shot, but there was a little girl with dirty sandals standing in the water bucket.

Then the kids lined up for that delicious drink of clean water.  Yes, I love (and live) for these moments!!

Both young and old came to drink this clean water.  What a magnificent way to show the love of God...I recall the Words of Jesus so well...."I was thirsty and you gave Me to drink...when you've done it unto the least of these...you've done it unto Me"!!

Then came the presentation to the School Principal and Town leaders.  They'll use this machine very well.  They were extremely appreciative for this gift of clean water!

We then crossed the river and began the climb up to a church on the top of the hill.  There was a very sad story yet to come.

We carefully stepped through the rubble and climbed the hill.  We saw numerous houses that had slid down this hill.  We were going up to the top of the hill to pray.

The Pastor told us an incredibly sad and tragic story.  As we stood there, with the new church under construction, we listened carefully as the Pastor told us what happened on the day of the earthquake.

Directly behind where I'm sitting, the original church had stood.  There was a prayer meeting going on when the massive earthquake struck.

The Pastor was standing right next to the door and lunged out of the building.  Sadly, 17 did not make it out and they all perished.

In spite of this terrible tragedy, this Church is being rebuilt and people are putting their lives back together.

I am glad that we can do a little something to help these precious people who have lost so much and yet, they are so faithful.  PLEASE remember to pray for these and so many who are dealing with such devastation and sadness.

Well, up early again this morning.  It is Saturday morning in Kathmandu, Nepal.  We'll be focused on training some local technicians on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer today.

Oh, forgot to mention that when we arrived back at our hotel yesterday evening, Kurt, from Japan, had arrived.  He'll strengthen our team.

Also, Dr. Aaron just sent me a text that he was on-board a Delta Jet headed to Dubai.  He'll arrive here on Sunday morning.  BTW, he too was flying on a "Buddy Pass" and had gotten the very last seat on that flight!  Praise God...."Surely our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!!

6-12-15 Friday 5:58AM (Nepal Time) - Kathmandu, Nepal - Air Mobile Team in Nepal - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe  We began yesterday

CLEAN WATER FOR THE YOUNG & THE ELDERLY

We began yesterday with a stop at the MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) Office in Kathmandu.  Have had the privilege to work with MAF all over the world.

Good to meet the crew.  They're doing a great job of coordinating very reasonable Helicopter services for relief organizations.  We may be needing their services to reach some of the "hard to reach places".

Also, please pray that the Nepal Government extends their invitation to work in Nepal.  The original time frame is coming to a close.  Let's agree together that these Guys can stay longer.  We need them!

From the MAF Office, Beni and Rob of Compassionate Hands for Nepal brought us to large school (1200+ Students) about an hour  out of town.  Almost every structure in this school had been condemned due to the massive shock of the earthquake.

The "infamous" red 'Condemned' sign appeared on almost every building, even though some structures "appeared" to be undamaged, the building are unsafe and students are not allowed in them.

Over 1,000,000 Nepalese students lost their classrooms due the massive earthquakes.  School has resumed, but for many, it is meeting under tarps and tents.

Of course, the shock of the earthquake has disrupted and contaminated previously safe water supplies.  The threat of disease is ever present.

The bottom line is, the existing water cistern and source is unsafe. That is why we came....to change that!

We set up right in front of that old cistern and began the demonstration / training for the Air Mobile Rescuer.  One of the things I like to do is make a dramatic statement about just how powerful the Rescuer is.

So, I had our designated Chief Operator put his feet in the bucket of water that came out of that old cistern.

Then, just to make the point stronger, we had him put both sandaled feet into that red bucket.  Now, that was some pretty nasty water.

Then, the moment I love.  After turning the Rescuer on and letting it run for about a minute, I take that first, long drink from that very nasty bucket of water.

Then, we had our Chief Operator (in training) drink from the same bucket that he was standing in.  This absolutely convinces our "audience" that the Rescuer really does work.

Soon, the kids were lining up for a drink.  We're very excited that we can bring these students clean water.

We'll review how well the staff does with 1 Rescuer and if they handle it well, we may donate a 2nd unit to them in several weeks. 1200 students is a lot of students!!

We made the presentation of the gift of the Air Mobile Rescuer.  The staff was extremely thankful and we're confident that they'll do a very good job with the Rescuer and will likely get the second unit.  Praise God!!

From the school, we drove a bit further to a home for the elderly.  Beni has known the Pastor, who has a heart for the abandoned ones on the street, for many years.  His work with the elderly is extraordinary.

As we pulled in, I soon met some of the "Sweethearts" of the Community.  Oh, I can't begin to tell you how much I love "Senior Citizens".

We began the set up and training.  The Pastor's son would be our principal Operator.  So....we had him put his dirty feet in the bucket of already contaminated water and swish it around.

Then, the telling moment, will the American drink that dirty water?  Of course he will.  I love this part of the presentation.  If there are any doubters or skeptics in the audience, after that first drink, they're all convinced that the little "miracle" machine works!

Then, of course, we had the trainee drink some that water that he was standing in.  Oh, we added a few more dirty sandals into the bucket to really "sweeten the pot".  The trainee didn't hesitate to drink the water.

As we were preparing to make the formal presentation of the Rescuer, the elderly residents prayed for us.

Then, with joy they too thanked us for bringing them clean water.  It was a very, very sweet moment.

Then, we formally presented the Air Mobile Rescuer to the Pastor of this precious community.  He will also be distributing clean water in this whole community.

After we finished, I had a moment with another precious senior saint in blue.  What a sweet spirit this dear one had.She melted my heart.

As we were driving out we saw this dear senior saint taking care of the rabbits.  Another precious moment.  Oh yes, I love my job!!

So, the sun has risen, here in Kathmandu.  Garrett and I will be going down for breakfast and awaiting Beni and Rob to come get us.  Where will we be today?  Not sure, but we know it will be good.

BTW, Garrett did an amazing job of capturing the day with all of these super shots.  He's becoming quite the "Water Mule".

As always, THANK YOU for joining our adventure and traveling this glorious road with us.  We truly appreciate your precious love, prayer and support!!

NEPAL "PLAN" - PREPARING FOR DEPLOYMENT / TRAINING OPERATORS - CINDY'S & INDIA TEAM HOME! & A "GIFT" FROM SAM

A plan is coming together for our Nepal deployment of Rescuers.  I THANK GOD for putting us together with CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) and Compassionate Hands for Nepal.

We had extensive meetings yesterday discussing and planning how and where to bring clean water into extremely needy areas of Nepal.

Some areas are still cut-off by road and relief has been very slow into certain other areas.  We also have laid out a plan to go back into Gorkha (the epicenter of the first monster quake) and check on our previous deployments and also bring in more help into this area.

The destruction we witnessed on our previous mission was staggering.  Glad to be going back!

Areas in extreme Western Nepal are in dire need of clean water, and we'll try to get into those areas on this mission also.

We also established a facility to set up our Nepal Repair Depot!  That is very important, as this facility will keep the "Clean water flowing"!

This operation will be located in the Compassionate Hands for Nepal Headquarters and we've already identified the room that has running water and sink (very important for testing purposes).  I love it when a "Plan" comes together!!

Meanwhile, Garrett was back at the Bible School preparing Rescuers for Deployment.  He was opening each unit and inspecting it for damage (during shipping) as well as beginning to train our Nepal Team of Technicians on the operation of the Rescuer.

We now have 15 Air Mobile Rescuers "Ready to Go" and bring clean water to thirsty and needy people.  This does bring a smile to the face of Jesus!

BTW, we have 4 more Rescuers that will be brought in with Dr. Aaron in a few days.  Aaron has joined us on numerous other deployments into the Philippines.  We're thrilled to have Aaron with us again!

We also have another missionary / electrical engineer, Kurt, from Japan who will also be joining us in several days. We met Kurt in Japan following the devastating earthquake of 2011. He too will be assisting us in this noble mission of bringing clean water to thirsty people.

Yesterday, I received this YouTube from Sam in India.  We are SO BLESSED to have met and worked with Sam and his Dad, Daniel.  This family has, for 3 generations, served the Lord. Their work to the poor and needy just blew us away!

Sam put together this video capturing the "First Day" of deploying an Air Mobile Rescuer into a village that had been completely wiped out by a flash flood.  As these precious ones struggled to put their lives back together, we had the privilege to bring them clean water, something that they desperately needed.

BTW, this shot of our Olivia was the "Photo of the Trip"!

Sam's family and ministry reached out to this devastated village.  That is where my Cindy found Sam on Facebook and the rest is history.  Take a few minutes and enjoy this wonderful video "capturing" the moment - DAY 1 OF AIR MOBILE OUTREACH IN INDIA

I was so pleased and relieved to learn that my Cindy and the India Team all arrived safely home.  Praise God and THANK YOU, Captain Darrell Gordon (who provided the Buddy Passes for our team) and Delta Airlines.

On that note, it is with extreme sadness that I bring you the news that our dear brother Darrell lost his precious wife, Melissa, to cancer several days ago.  May I ask you to please lift up Darrell and his family as they deal with this huge loss.

Have been up since before the sun rose here in Kathmandu (crazy "Jet-Lag).  Have already had 2 cups of coffee and awaiting Brother Beni and Rob, of Compassionate Hands for Nepal, to come pick us up.

Just sitting at my "Nepal Desk" writing this meandering "Blog" and about to have my 3rd cup because the cups are small.

Today, we'll be deploying our 1st Rescuer in a school for the visually impaired.  They have a desperate need for clean water.  We'll also be training our new Nepalese Operator / Technicians on the operation of the Air Mobile Rescuer.

As always, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your precious and vital prayer, love and support!!  Also, please remember to pray for Captain Darrell Gordon and his family following the loss of their beloved Melissa.

JET SWAP - FINAL LEG - CUSTOMS SEIZE RESCUERS....CUSTOMS RELEASE RESCUERS!  PRAISE GOD!!  THE EPIC TREK OF THE "BLUE TUBS"

Yesterday morning, Garrett and I were in  Delhi (one of the largest airports in the world).  Our original Air India Jet had some maintenance "issues" (glad they discovered them).

We then began moving about this huge aviation "organism".  First it was Gate 20, then Gate 26, then finally Gate 12.  We must have walked 5 miles...easily.  A nice early morning "work-out" on very little sleep in the last 48 hours.

After the replacement jet was established, we boarded and it was a nice flight. We finally landed in Kathmandu, Nepal, our destination and the launch of the 2nd "Air Mobile Nepal Mission".

Garrett and I had 15 Air Mobile Rescuers in 10 big blue tubs.  Now, that's big load for 2 passengers and yes, it DID get the attention of Customs.

You'll notice the "TIA CUSTOMS RED CHANNEL" BARRIER.  We were stuck.  I was in no mood for this and began to get pretty emotional.  That's what happens after 2 days of little or no sleep.  The battle was not going very well.

I knew that if those "Rescuers" were taken away to Customs, it could be days if not weeks before they would be released.  We had come way to far to just watch those "Blue Tubs" be taken away!

I withdrew for long enough to text Cindy, who was in Dubai, to PRAY!  Here simple reply:  "PRAYING"!  Then, I sent an urgent text to Brian of CBN, who was coming to pick us up.  My cry was "HELP"!

Then came Beni, CBN's Nepal Representative, to the RESCUE!  Beni's calm spirit immediately "calmed" the raging sea.

Yes...."Surely our Lord knows how to deploy His troops"!!!

Together, we went into the aspects of the Nepal Customs Law and made multiple appeals to the "heart of humanity" all sprinkled with a lot of silent prayers.

Finally, an agreement and an excellent solution was reached.  The RESCUERS WOULD BE RELEASED!

Not only were they released, but we, with God's great wisdom and awesome help, laid the groundwork for future shipments of Rescuers into Nepal!

Beni and I congratulated the Nepal Customs Officials for helping us to establish the "Bridge of Clean Water".  They, the Customs Officials, had become part of the "Solution" of getting clean water to desperate and thirsty people of Nepal.  One Customs official asked if he could become my "Friend" on Facebook!

We rolled those 10 "Blue Tubs", containing 15 Rescuers, out of the airport and let out a "Shout of Victory" on the sidewalk!  GLORY BE TO GOD!!

Brian and Beni brought Garrett and I to the Hotel where we literally collapsed...for about 30 minutes.

Then, we were picked up and brought to the Bible College for a Dinner and planning meeting.

Still, deliriously exhausted, a master-plan was laid out.  We would begin the "Launch of the Nepal Mission" in the morning...after a good night's sleep.

The 15 Rescuers were safe in the storage room of the Bible College.  What a good feeling to see those 10 "Blue Tubs"!  They were now "FREE TO MOVE ABOUT THE COUNTRY" and bring life to so many.

Also, what a great lesson for Garrett, who saw the Hand of God move so powerfully in our behalf!

Early this morning, Brian, of CBN, boarded a flight for Turkey where he'll continue to help other missions and ministries in "Hard to Reach Places".

THANK YOU, Brian, for all you are doing for so many!  Be sure to lift Brian up in PRAYER as he brings the love and help of Jesus to a suffering world!

In the middle of the night, got a text from Patti who is with Cindy.  Delta Airlines found 4 seats for them and they are flying home as I type this meandering and victory-filled blog!

After an extremely good night of sleep and 2 cups of coffee, we're ready to tackle this day and begin to bring those "FREED AIR MOBILE RESCUERS" to thirsty people!!

Oh, again, can't begin to tell you how good it feels to sleep on a comfortable bed and not be cramped up into a tiny aircraft seat.  Time for us to go get breakfast and then meet Beni and team.

We'll be going over a "Master Map" and establishing where we'll be placing these much needed Rescuers to save lives and demonstrate the Love of Jesus!

So, as I always say, and mean so sincerely from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

6-9-15 Tuesday 8:16AM (Delhi India Time) - Delhi International Airport - Air Mobile Team Enroute to Nepal - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

DELAYED IN DELHI

Here's a quick "travel update" on the Nepal Air Mobile Team comprised of Garrett and myself and 15 Air Mobile Rescuers.

We're on our way to Nepal and currently "stuck" due a mechanical problem on the Air India Jet.  May they take their time and fix the problem!!

We have been traveling, almost non-stop since 5:30 yesterday morning.  We began yesterday in Ongole, Southern India.

Sam and his dad Daniel drove us from Ongole to Hyderabad to catch a flight back to Dubai where our team would SPLIT UP.  Oh, we love Sam and Daniel and their whole family so much.  They are doing an AWESOME work with desperate children.

We determined that 2 Air Mobile Rescuers were not sufficient for their work, so, at the airport, we presented them with another Rescuer!  Praise God!!

Cindy, Peter, Patti and Olivia will head back to the U.S., but first they must catch a Delta "Buddy Pass" flight.  As you know, that is a "Stand-by" situation.  Let's pray that they find 4 seats to back home.

Meanwhile, Garrett and I "wrestled" the 15 Rescuers out of storage in Dubai and put them on an Air India flight to Nepal.

But first, we had to pass through Delhi, where we're currently "stuck".  BTW, the flight from Dubai to Delhi was on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.  Talk about a nice airplane!  It looks like Air India is going to swap out airplanes.  Glad they found the problem...before we took off!

Time to dash through the terminal back to our gate and board so that we can begin the "Nepal Mission".

As always, thank you for your precious and powerful and effective and greatly appreciate prayer, love and support!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - Garrett and I are running on "fumes".  Haven't slept in over 24 hours.  I'm sure when I read back over this blog, it'll sound pretty raggedy like someone very tired wrote it...because someone did.  Pray that we get safely to Nepal and have an opportunity to catch up on a bit of sleep.  God bless!  Joe

6-8-15 Monday 4:45AM (Ongole India Time) - Ongole, India - Air Mobile Team On-Site - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe
TEAM SPLIT....BY DESIGN

Tomorrow, our Team will split up...but I'll share more about that later in this blog.

Yesterday began by going to Church and what a service it was!  The Indian people know how to worship God!

We walked up the stairs to the Well of Life Church, also Pastored by Daniel, and were met with a shower of yellow pedals and sweet music.

Cindy and I were asked to share and it was an easy message.  We simply shared our Testimony of how we got here.

The story is full of miracles with many obstacles and God Powered Victories over each and every one.

Pastor Daniel and his wife shared how many struggles they had in order for us to come.  We just rejoiced that we persisted and here we are, praising God together!

Olivia, Garrett and Peter blessed us all with sweet worship.  These guys are good.  Mmmm, the Air Mobile Worship Band or the Air Mobile Trio.  It has potential!

After Church, we had a grand celebration party (not at the beach).  Close to 300 children showed up and we spent the rest of the day and evening with them.

Along the way, we spotted some of the kids enroute in the famous little Auto Rickshaw.  Here's the view from the back.

Now, here's the view from the front of this cute little transport wonder.  Imagine, it only has 1 Cylinder and is about 200cc's. But, it's the backbone of people transport in India.  BTW, must have been 20 kids in there and not a single seat belt!

First, we donated the 2nd Air Mobile Rescuer for their clean water.  Again, the water leading into this community tells the story.

We set up the unit and I asked my interpreter to grace the bucket of already very dirty water with is sandaled foot.  He glady complied.

Then, after a moment of suspense, I drank water from that bucket after it passed through the Rescuer.  Again, the crowd was in shock and became a believer that this little machine really does work!

As all of this was going on, our very own Air Mobile Worship Band was warming / tuning- up "behind the stage".

Then, they led the 300+ kids in sweet worship.  Oh, I love this Team!!

Then, it was to those "blue tubs" that you've tracked half way around the world.  Well, Cindy and team stuffed every last micron of space with supplies, and clothes and hygeine stuff and so much more.

For the next couple of hours, the team distributed these great gifts.  The crowd was completely orderly and courteous.  It was just a pleasure watching this happen.

All the while, Garrett and Peter kept the clean water flowing into thirsty little mouths.  Oh, it just doesn't get any better than this!  What a day!!!

Now, what's this about a....TEAM SPLIT....BY DESIGN

Well, in just a little while, we'll be loading up and driving from Ongole to Hyderabad, about a 6 hour drive.

We'll board an Indigo Jet for Dubai where we left those 9 blue tubs full of Air Mobile Rescuers for Nepal.  That is where our team will SPLIT and Cindy will lead Patti, Olivia and Peter back to the U.S. and Garrett and I will be headed back to Nepal to begin another adventure!

There are a lot of people without clean water in Nepal following those 2 devastating earthquakes.  We've been working diligently and with your faithful prayer, love and support, we'll be bringing in 20 Air Mobile Rescuers for Nepal.  Praise God!!  Time for us to get up and hit the road. God bless and THANKS AGAIN!!

6-7-15 Sunday 6:59AM (Ongole India Time) - Ongole, India - Air Mobile Team On-Site - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

2 RESCUERS GOING TO "WIN OUR NATION" - JOY IN A FEEDING CENTER

Yesterday, in India, began with a "Training / Presentation" for the Air Mobile Rescuer.  This brings me great JOY!

Our good friends and fellow missionaries, Malcolm and Phyllis Blowes have been working in India for many years.  We have longed to help them bring clean water to their mission.  Yesterday, we did just that!

Jeevan, their Country Director rode a train from Eluru, India early in the morning.  We met at our hotel and "Training" began.  Sam, of India Child Care (our host) also attended the session.

Peter and Garrett assisted in the "Training" and this also worked toward preparing them to GO and teach others.

One of the things that we like to demonstrate is just how POWERFUL the Rescuer is.  We got a bucket out of the hotel bathroom (pretty nasty) and then "sweetened the pot" with Jeevan's sandaled foot (that had just traveled by train from afar) to make the bucket very dirty.

Then....the moment of truth.  After that filthy water went through the Air Mobile Rescuer,  I drank the water.  I love doing this.  That one action tells so much and the rest of the training is very easy from there.  The Rescuer works!!

After the training, we presented Jeevan with 2 Air Mobile Rescuers, one for his local mission and one for the tribal villages where Win Our Nation has faithfully worked for all these years.  Again, what a JOY!!

Then came our surprise!  Jeevan presented Cindy and I with a beautiful plague of Appreciation.

I'd like to give you a close-up of this beautiful token of appreciation.  These folks really know how to show their thanks!

After this great "Training and Presentation", Cindy and the Team headed out to visit several of the Feeding Centers that are operated by Sam and his Family.

Again, Olivia, Peter and Garrett sang and worshiped together with these precious children.  The kids loved the music and sweet spirit.

I remained back at the Hotel (at my "India Desk") and spent the afternoon arranging vital details for our upcoming Nepal Mission.  Needed to arrange several flights, hotel, transportation etc.

The team went shopping after the sorting and visiting the Children Centers.  Cindy encountered a rather unusual "silvery" man along the way.

One never knows what one will find in the markets of India.  Of course, cows roam freely everywhere in India.  They just meander freely along down the streets.

So, today, we'll attend the Church that Sam's Dad pastors and then take about 100 children to the beach for a party.  Going to be a fun day.

Oh, there's so much going on and our Lord is doing such wonderful things in our hearts.  I can hardly capture them in this little, rambling blog, but THANK YOU for meandering down this road with us.

We so appreciate your precious and wonderful prayer, love and support!!

6-6-15 Saturday 5:29AM (Ongole India Time) - Ongole, India - Air Mobile Team On-Site - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

"THE LEAST OF THESE...."

The day began with a celebration at Pastor Daniel's Church. Our team was showered with yellow flower pedals from a group of children from a local village that had been wiped out by a flood.

I worked hard to hold back the tears (not very successfully) as the pedals flew and their sweet voices sang songs of welcome, to us. These precious ones thanked us for coming to bring them clean water.  But....the day was just beginning!

Olivia, Peter and Garrett returned their love with worship music.  It was simply awesome seeing these 2 very different cultures blended together by the love of God.

Now, it was our turn to see where these little ones lived.  The kids were loaded up into a truck and brought back to their village and awaited our coming to see them.

We loaded up the Church Van and headed for their village.

Recently, a flash flood had completely wiped out their village and they lost literally everything.

Pastor Daniel and Sam began by building a simple bridge with sand bags so that access could be made into this devastated village.  That simple act of kindness and love opened up this little, easily forgotten, village to the love of so many, who have helped us to get here.  But...I'm getting ahead of my story.

Sam posted, on Facebook, photos from there.  That was when our Lord directed Cindy to this "Village" and we began the long journey to bring them clean water and help, that they so desperately needed.

As we entered their village, the signs of deep poverty, malnutrition and the results of awful water were everywhere.  We went straight to where they are currently getting their water.  It was not pretty.

What came out of that "cess pool", that is their water source, just broke our hearts.  We were there, through God's Amazing Grace...TO CHANGE THAT STORY!!

That BEAUTIFUL Banner that Pastor Daniel and Sam had made for us, "adorned" one of the huts.

That was where we shared our "story" about how, driven by the love God, our little team traveled half way around the world to bring them clean water!

We all took a few moments and shared how we were moved by Jesus to come to this very village and bring them clean water and hope and above all, just to love them!

In addition to clean water, Cindy had organized a drive at home for little dresses and shorts for the little boys and school supplies and hygiene stuff and  a whole lot more.  Sharing those gifts with these children was just awesome!

But...the real gift that we brought (apart from the Good News of Jesus) was CLEAN WATER!  As the sun was setting, we demonstrated the easy set up and the wonder of the Air Mobile Rescuer.

We chose one of the nastiest buckets of water from one of their extremely contaminated water sources.  I even had Garrett put his sandaled foot right into the bucket.  Then, after running that putrid water through the Rescuer, I drank the water myself.  The crowd burst into applause.

The rest of the evening was spent filling water bottles and buckets and again, just loving these precious ones that had lost everything, but tonight, they were receiving the gift of clean water and being touched by the love of God!!

Forgot to mention, thanks to the generous donors of Air Mobile, we also provided several hot meals to all of the residents of this village.  Cindy, Patti and Olivia served as Peter and Garrett gave out clean water.

When it came time to pack up and head back to the hotel, Peter and Garrett just didn't want to leave, they kept asking me to let them finish the bucket of water.  I gladly agreed.  This was an evening where we were all changed and came closer to feeling the heart of Jesus.

On the way home, our team shared their impressions.  Oh, I could write a book about the way each of us have been touched by our Lord.  The simple and pure Gospel of bringing food and water and the love of God to the needy.  This Village will never be the same, thanks to the Grace and Love of God!!

So, been up since...very early (one of the subtle effects of massive "Jet-Lag").  The sun is just rising here in Ongole, India and we have many more adventures ahead of us. What will our Lord do?  Let's see, we're here for the glorious ride.

THANK YOU again for your precious and powerful and greatly appreciated prayer, love and support.  Stay tuned as this grand Adventure continues!!

HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD! & ANOTHER OBSTACLE & ANOTHER VICTORY!

Oh, it's been a LONG Journey*, but we made it...by God's Grace and protection!!  Yesterday morning, we were in Dubai.

As we were about to board the IndiGo Jet for Hyderabad, the Head of Security showed up and informed us that we could not carry the Air Mobile Rescuers on-board the flight (notice, no photos were taken...that would have been a very bad idea).

Now, we have nearly 1000 units in 45 countries and we have NEVER been told that we could not carry the Rescuers on-board the aircraft.  I politely explained that to the Head of Security.

He was NOT impressed.  Yet, we all remained calm and just let the system play out.  However, the clock was ticking and now, we were getting into "Boarding" time.

Finally, we were allowed to leave the Security area, under Security Escort, to the Gate.  There, after many more discussions and opening the unit and so forth, with less than 5 minutes from departure time, we were cleared. We rushed on-board the jet, again, the last to board.

The compromise was that we had to "Gate-Check" the Rescuers and pick them up upon arrival in Hyderabad.

OK, at least we were on-board and winging our way to the "India Mission".  After a smooth 4 hour flight, we landed in Hyderabad and met Sam and his dad, Daniel.  Oh, it was good to see these two!!

We've been planning this trip for a long time.  *BTW, from the time we left Orlando until the time we arrived into Ongole was 50+ hours!

We had about 5 hours before our bus departed so we asked Sam a good place to get genuine Indian Food.

We ended up at the legendary "Paradise", established in 1953.  We were not disappointed!

After all those hours and food served on little trays in moderate turbulence and just sleepless nights, this meal was absolutely FANTASTIC!!

Again, as we waited for the "Sleeper Bus" to arrive, a terrible storm struck.  Peals of lightning, powerful winds and a full blown black-out.  But finally, we hit the road and this cool bus had sleeper bunks.  Made the 7 hour bus journey through the storm a bit more tolerable.  We were really running on empty.

Early this morning, we rolled into Ongole.  We were taken straight to a local hotel.  While we were just freshening up, Sam and his Dad did this for us....it blew us away.  Check out the banner!

Well, it's Friday morning.  A "mission" that began on Tuesday morning has begun in earnest.  In just a few minutes, we'll be heading to the church and meeting about 100 kids from the area.  We can hardly wait.  Of course, we'll be bringing them extremely clean water and the love of God!!  We love our job!!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious, faithful and effective prayer, love and support. Stay tuned as the "Adventure Continues"!!

SAFE ARRIVAL IN DUBAI - THE "BLUE TUBS" MADE IT - ONWARD TO INDIA

As we eagerly awaited our name to be posted on the "Approved List", we prayed.  Then, it looked like there were only 6 seats left and "Hurston" appeared on the board....We were ON!  THANKS to our good friend, Captain Darrell Gordon, who donated the "Buddy Passes", we were on our way to India and beyond!!

There were terrible storms all around and the flight boarding was delayed due to lightening. Then, the 6 of us, each wearing an Air Mobile Rescuer, boarded the Delta 777, headed to Dubai.

There was a LOT of turbulence, but our flight crew did a good job of finding "smoother" spots.  We all managed to get some much needed sleep on-board.  I had only gotten about an hour sleep in the previous 24 hours.

After 14 hours, we landed in Dubai  and soon, all 14 of our "Blue Tubs" rolled into the Baggage Claim area.

We quickly sorted and arranged the loads for our 2 Missions.  The first to India and the second, in about a week to Nepal.

Dubai, thanks to the good Delta Airlines "Buddy Passes", will be our "staging" point.  This morning, we'll board an Indigo Airlines flight for Hyderabad, India.  Then, we'll catch a train or bus ride (9-11 hours) to Ongole, the area deeply affected by the extreme heat (death toll in the thousands).

Last night, we put our "Nepal Blue Tubs" into storage at the Dubai airport. Then in about a week, we'll return to Dubai and collect our 9 remaining "Blue Tubs" for Nepal.

This morning, our Team will be headed to the airport to catch our flight to India.  The "Mission" continues.

As always, THANK YOU for your faithful and effective prayer, love and support!  Together, we navigated nearly half way around the world to bring clean water and the love of God to thirsty people.  THANK YOU!!

Air Mobile Joe & Team

PS - The Time Difference between Dubai / India is 10 hours ahead.  So, though the Dubai time of this post is 4:27AM, June 4th, the Eastern U.S. Time is 8:27PM, June 3rd.  So....another way to look at it is, as we flew toward Dubai, we kind of lost a day, but, we'll get it back when we fly home. All these "time differences" makes my head spin.  Joe

LIFT OFF....ALMOST - UPDATE:  AIR MOBILE TEAM IN ATLANTA - AWAITING FLIGHT TO DUBAI - PLEASE PRAY WE FIND 6 SEATS!

Our India / Nepal Team is beginning to stir.  Everyone slept at our home last night.  We were up until 3:00am doing the final pack and load of 24 Air Mobile Rescuers!  Those blue tubs are about to circle the globe to bring clean water to the thirsty and needy!

This is going to be a very short blog this morning. We're flying on "Stand-by Buddy Passes" and must arrive early to try to find 6 seats on that first flight to Atlanta.

Our flight to Dubai departs Atlanta at 9:30pm this evening so....stay tuned for an addition to this rambling blog.  There is so much that I want to share on what we hope to accomplish on this mission to India / Nepal.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

Air Mobile Joe

UPDATE (at 8:14pm Eastern U.S. Time) : PRAISE GOD!  We found 6 seats from Orlando to Atlanta.  Wearing the Rescuers really helped us to explain exactly what we are doing!

Once in Atlanta, we settled down to the 12 hour wait.  We're currently getting updates on the load on that 777 that will be flying to Dubai.  At this point, it's rather "iffy" if we'll find a seat but.....we have the Lord "arranging our schedule!!"

Also, should we find those 6 seats, this is the last communication you'll get from me for the next 16-18 hours.  The leg from Atlanta to Dubai is 14+ hours in the air.

So, until we connect again, God bless you and THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!

PS - IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS RAMBLING BLOG AND FEEL LIKE YOU'VE JUMPED RIGHT INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY....YOU HAVE - JUST CLICK ON 'OLDER POSTS' BELOW TO SEE HOW WE'VE GOTTEN TO THIS "JUNCTURE OF THE JOURNEY!"  JOE
