THE "ADVENTURE" CONTINUES.....JULY 2016

KNOCKED DOWN.....

Friday evening, I began to get congested and a bit feverish.  Didn't sleep well at all and awoke Saturday morning feeling pretty miserable.

So, after writing the blog yesterday, I went right back to bed and stayed down for the day.  It seems to be a simple cold, but for the next day or two, I'll stay close to home and just rest.

However, a GOOD thing that has come out of this, is that I've been able to let the Word of God play on "YouVersion" throughout the day, and right as I went to sleep, and again this morning.

Of course, I don't need to be feeling "miserable" to listen to the Word of God.  But, it does make the endurance to feeling better and chasing this nasty thing out of me, go much sweeter.

And, I ask you to join together with me that this sickness will pass quickly.  The Word says that the "Believing ones shall lay hands on the sick & they shall recover" .

The wonderful thing about this "rambling blog" is that we can pray one for another, even though we may be thousands of miles apart.  Prayer knows NO BOUNDARIES!

I'm also very glad that my Cindy and Ari will be coming home from Glacier National Park soon.  Cindy is a great nurse and will help me to recover.

So, today, I'll miss church and just stay down and rest and let the Word of God keep playing and allow His healing to flow into my body.  I truly appreciate and value your precious prayer, love and support!!

CHARITY TRANSFER

Our Lord has provided us with a network of folks who care and pray for orphans and abandoned babies.  They show their love by gathering baby food and formula for these, that are the "least among us".

Yesterday morning, I met Margaret and her husband, John, in the Sam's Parking lot in Cocoa, FL to transfer the gifts of nourishment and life for these little ones in Haiti.  God bless you, Margaret & John!

This gift is particularly valuable, because baby food and formula is extremely expensive in Haiti (it's pretty expensive here in the U.S.!)  That is why we need the Little Donkey to transfer this life-saving nourishment to Haiti.

One may ask, do the mothers breastfeed in Haiti? The answer is, yes.  However, for these abandoned and orphaned babies, by the time they reach "The Village", they are extremely malnourished and often, quite ill.

And...when they are breastfed, many times, the mothers are sick and starving themselves.  That is why we need these gifts to keep coming and why we're so GRATEFUL for our many friends and volunteers like Margaret & John!

While we were doing the "transfer" another deranged killer opened fire, (mainly on children!) in Munich, Germany.  When will this insanity stop??

What??? Did the murderer think he was making God happy when he slaughtered those folks and their children???  He will stand before His maker and give account for his actions!! Here's more on these horrendous murders - KILLER "LURED KIDS TO THEIR DEATH"!!

Again, I am reminded of the Words of Jesus...."In this world, you will have tribulation (trouble), but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world"!

Simply put, our world needs Jesus as never before.  Please, come soon, Lord Jesus!!

I'm glad to report that Cindy and Ari are having a blast at Glacier National Park.

After a great hike, they returned to the Ranger Station where Ariana was sworn in as an official "Junior Ranger"!  So proud of our Ari!!

I'll have them back soon.  Sure have missed them, but am so glad that they've had this awesome opportunity to take in the grandeur and beauty of our Lord's creation!!

We're moving closer and closer to getting our Little Donkey ready for those "engine break-in" flights.

Time to get on with this day.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

AN ANGRY NATION...."SOUND THE TRUMP"

In all my years, I've NEVER seen a U.S. Presidential election like this one.  When Donald Trump announced his candidacy 11 months ago, to be honest, I didn't think he had a chance.

Last night, he accepted the Republican Nomination and gave one "whale" of a speech.  This man knows how to "Overcome Obstacles" and WIN!

Folks, at this juncture, I PRAY for our Lord to have HIS way with America!  Trump clearly identified the PROBLEMS that America (and the world) is facing.

Again, I agree together with Trump that these problems be effectively dealt with and solved!!  Here's more on what happened last night in Cleveland - TRUMP CLAIMS THE PRIZE

In the meantime, we're "streamlining" (de-cluttering) and getting lighter and even more mobile for the days ahead.  As I study the Word of God, I see that there are days coming that will be very challenging to all of us.

That is why I PRAY so fervently for this Presidential election!  Our great nation needs STRONG & WISE LEADERSHIP.  Again, my prayer.....THY WILL BE DONE!!

Received a message from Margaret, a precious lady who looks for formula and baby food for the orphans in Haiti.
She has another load for Barb and the babies.  Praise God for faithful ones who care for.... "the least of these"!

Have had that 2nd cup of coffee.  Time to head out into this day that our Lord has made.  As always, and I mean this with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A GOOD DAY AT THE AIRPORT!

Approaching the Little Donkey, I could see that Paul had already installed all 6 Factory New Cylinders.  My heart beat a little faster!

Now, I realize that a new Cylinder may not be particularly pretty to a "non-pilot", however....to a pilot, this is a beautiful thing!

We fly the Little Donkey far (often over long distances of ocean), high (17,000+') and at full gross weight.  One wants strong engines to carry that load far & high!

Again, I'm so THANKFUL to an excellent mechanic and also to Continental Motors for "donating" 3 of the 6 Cylinders to us.  THANK YOU, PAUL & CONTINENTAL!

While at the airport, I caught Peter and Brian "pre-flighting" the C-172 for another training lesson.  Peter is rapidly approaching his first solo.  I'm so pleased that he has Brian as his instructor!!

In the middle of all of this, received a call from Barb (AKA - "Rambo in the Blue Dress").  She was flying through Orlando on her way to New York to see her grand kids.

She also needed some more of her books ("Make That Baby Happy").  I rushed to the airport and met her there. Had enough time between her next flight to take her to a good seafood restaurant.  It's always good to see this "Intrepid Lady of God"!

BTW, her book is GREAT!  You can get a copy by writing Barb at:  reachouttohaiti@yahoo.com

So, today, it's that same thing.  Putting the Little Donkey back together and gathering supplies and doing whatever else comes across my plate.  I pray for wisdom from our Lord to lead and guide me this day.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

AN AMAZING STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED ON THE MOON ON JULY 20, 1969!

I just read this awesome story and have to share it with you!  It's a rather long story but well worth the read.  Here it is:  LITTLE KNOWN EVENT OCCURRED AT FIRST MOON LANDING

It's hard to believe that this occurred 47 years ago.  Yes, I remember exactly where I was when it happened.

Was in Summer School at Baton Rouge High (picking up some extra credits) when the news hit that "The Eagle has landed"!  To all of you "Old Timers" reading this rambling blog, where were you??

OK, I'll give you a little clue as to what happened on the moon before Neil made that first famous step.

But, I encourage you to read the article as it will bless you on this 47th Anniversary of the amazing accomplishment of putting men on the moon!

BTW, I'm very THANKFUL that the Republican National Convention has proceeded rather peacefully!

We never take that for granted.  Let us continue to PRAY that it continues on without violence!

Yesterday, I ran "errands" for Paul who is diligently performing a "Top-end Overhaul" on the front engine of the Little Donkey.  Had to go pick up "wrist pins" and other parts to keep the ball rolling on getting that sweet little aircraft back into the air.

At the end of the day, Christian and I met to transport Peter's Baby Grand Piano to his home.  Christian will be "Piano-sitting" for a while for Peter.

Christian & his whole family (they're all insanely "musically talented")  will surely enjoy this beautiful instrument in the meantime!

I've been getting updates from Cindy and Ari from Glacier National Park.  They're having a glorious time.....wish I was there!  But "work" calls and one has to do what one has to do.

So, it's another beautiful day in sunny (and rather hot) Florida.  Time to head to the hangar and see what I can do to help Paul with that front engine.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and precious prayer, love and support!!

BEING ABOUT "THE BUSINESS"

Yes, there are many forces of darkness in America and around the world.  Our best stand is to PRAY faithfully and cast our care upon the Lord, because He cares for us.

Then....continue to be in the Lord's Service (Business) to bring help and love and mercy and clean water and food to the needy.  This is what brings a "Smile" to the face of Jesus!

This is the best way I know to....stay out of trouble!  It is easy to let anger and frustration overcome you when one sees the mounting darkness and cruelty and insanity in this  world.  Yes, we need Jesus!

Yesterday, I went out to gather some vital supplies for Haiti.  It's always a joy to go to APC (Alternative Pregnancy Center).

Vickie, the Director, had a wonderful load of baby food / formula, clothes etc. for the orphans in Haiti.  THANK YOU APC!

I next swung by the Air Mobile Headquarters and found Yahn (a great "Water Mule") hard at work preparing Rescuers for service.

We are diligently gathering as many parts and pieces for the remarkable Rescuer (can take very dirty water and make it very clean) as we can.  We know it's just a "matter of time" before we'll be heading out the door to the next disaster.

Paul is making good progress on the "Top-End Overhaul" on the front engine of the Little Donkey.  Hope to be doing some test flying and break-in flights later this week.

Yes, it's good to be busy about our Father's Business.  Throughout the day, I simply "Cast my cares" upon our Lord.  He can "handle" them so much better than I.

It's time to head out the door and see what "Adventure" or "Business" our Lord has in store for me today.  THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

CLARITY & A PRECIOUS HEART PUNCTUATE THE BATON ROUGE TRAGEDY

Montrell Jackson, one of the fallen Baton Rouge Officers brutally murdered on Sunday, posted this on FB following the Dallas shooting last week.

This was a precious young man who loved the Lord.WEEK OLD FB POST FROM ONE OF THE FALLEN BATON ROUGE OFFICERS

Our PRAYERS go out to the Jackson family and the others who were gunned down and killed or wounded in this insane, cruel, evil attack on law enforcement in America.

WITHOUT the POLICE, we are headed toward ANARCHY!  Folks, I urge you to stop and PRAY for this MADNESS TO STOP!!!

This savage and tragic attack in Baton Rouge is personal.  I was born and raised in that City, and I love it also, and my heart is broken over what has happened there.

I work all over the world and know 'FIRST-HAND' what ANARCHY DOES.  WE DON'T WANT ANARCHY!!

Please forgive me for "RANTING" a bit, but frankly I am angry over what is happening in America. AMERICA is on a very DANGEROUS course.

I find myself needing to "CAST MY CARE UPON THE LORD"....and trust HIM to lead and guide me and help me deal with this anger.

We wake up to a new VIOLENT ATTACK almost daily.  We NEED THE LORD!

So, what am I going to do today?  I'll likely go pick up some baby food and formula from Alternative Pregnancy Center (APC)....for Barbara's kids (orphans) in Haiti.

Will go to the airport and see what Paul, our trusty mechanic, needs to get the Little Donkey back in the air.  I'll call upon the Lord throughout the day to help me with my anger.  That's what I'll likely do today.

BTW, my Cindy and Ari arrived safely late last night in Montana, to begin their glorious trek to Glacier National Park.

Am THANKFUL for the traveling mercies they received....though she did report that the flight from Minneapolis to Kalispell was quite bumpy.  They're safe and sound.

Time to head out into this day that our Lord has made and I'll ask Him to help me to rejoice and be glad in it!  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

CINDY & ARI....ON A "GRAND" MISSION

I'm about to put Cindy and Ari on a plane to Glacier National Park.  Their Mission:  To capture the beauty and grandeur of our Lord's Creation.

Our dear friends, Alfred, Jr. and Lisa Menendez are there already and want to share this adventure with them.

While they're on this noble mission, I'll be here in Florida working hard on getting the Little Donkey back in the air.  Have to go to the airport to drop my girls to catch that flight.

UDPATE: Now, I'm back from dropping my sweet Girls at the Airport.  I'm very glad that they're going to experience this venture into God's Grand Creation, but somewhat sad not to be with them.  Yet, I've got to do what I've got to do.

So, with "bitter-sweet" joy, I watched them roll away.  BTW, special THANKS to Delta Darrell for providing us with a couple of "Buddy Passes" for this grand adventure.

This morning, will be going to our home Church, Redeemer and then off to the Hospital to minister with those who are hurting.

It's such a joy to do this.  As always, THANK YOU for your greatly appreciated prayer, love and support.  PLEASE remember to pray for Cindy and Ari as they fly out West today.  God bless!!

ISIS CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR NICE ATTACK / TURKEY IN TURMOIL

The "Islamic State" proudly claimed responsibility for the "Carnage" in Nice.  What a dreadful thing to be proud of.  Here's the latest - ISLAMIC STATE SAYS IT'S 'SOLDIER' BEHIND NICE TRUCK ATTACK

Meanwhile, last night a Military Coup attempt was made in Turkey.

The latest report today is that the "Coup" has failed.  This story is still unraveling as I type.  This is a major development in the region.  Here's the latest - COUP IN TURKEY FAILS....

This old world is SHAKING!  As I sit and type this blog, my heart breaks for those who have been brutally and mindlessly attacked and murdered.  These attacks are increasing in intensity and regularity.  Where will the next attack take place?

South Florida has been put on alert due to "Credible Threat".  Here's that story - FBI ISSUES "CREDIBLE THREAT" WARNING TO SOUTH FLORIDA LAW ENFORCEMENT

We PRAY that law enforcement is vigilant and that folks keep their eyes open.

I am reminded of Psalm 91 and pray that prayer regularly.

We continue to move forward toward our "Next Mission".  The 6 Factory New Cylinders finally arrived late yesterday evening.  I'll be bringing them to the Hangar this morning.

Time to get the Little Donkey back in the air!  We have our "marching orders" from the Lord....bring food and clean water to the hungry and thirsty.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

WE ARRIVED SAFE IN FLORIDA BUT....HUNDREDS DID NOT IN FRANCE!

Yesterday evening, as we were on I-95 southbound, somewhere in South Carolina, the news flash came over my phone of the "Terror Attack" in Nice, France.  Current Death Toll:  84 and hundreds injured!

What can possibly get into the mind and heart of a young man to kill innocent men, women and children so ruthlessly and thinking that....THIS MAKES GOD HAPPY???  I don't get it at all!!

Some have compared Christianity to Radical Islamic Terrorism!  THERE IS NO COMPARISON!  Jesus tells us to love our neighbor, feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, ETC.....Jesus has come to SEEK & TO SAVE!  NO COMPARISON!!

Folks, I will admit, right now, I am very angry at this cruel and deranged madness.  What can I do?

I go back to the Words of my Lord Jesus and today, will seek to serve Him and help others in need.

Jesus told us that these things would happen in this world....so, hold tightly onto His hand!!

Today, will be in a meeting with a dear brother in the Lord who has asked me to "Mentor" him.  I'm humbled to endeavor to impart some of the grace that our Lord has shown me.

Will also be with Paul, our excellent mechanic, as he will be hanging the 6 Factory New Cylinders on the Little Donkey.  Time to get that sweet little bird back in the air.

So, as I say every day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

FLORIDA BOUND....SO LONG CABIN

We're just THANKFUL for the little cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.

What a magnificent place to "recharge" one's batteries!  We'll surely be back!!

But for now, it's time to get back to work in Florida.  Have a Little Donkey that will soon be flying.  The 6, Factory-New Cylinders, should be arriving today.

BTW, this "Top-End Overhaul" will give that front engine a fresh start.  Nearly all of our flights are at full gross weight, long-range, over-the-water, missions.  We have a lot more flying to do and this is a good thing!!

And I want to say THANK YOU again to Teledyne-Continental for giving us 3 Cylinders at NO CHARGE!

Over this last week, Cindy and I have had a lot time to reflect & pray about what is happening in America. In the midst of the "Racial Meltdown" in our country, there is HOPE!

We PRAY for our Lord to pour out His SPIRIT on AMERICA!  We desperately need His GRACE & FORGIVENESS!

Time to give our final farewell to the Cabin and load our Ford Escape and head back to Florida.

Have a long road trip today and ask for your prayers for Traveling Mercy!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

SMOKEY MOUNTAIN MAMA

Cindy and I absolutely love the front porch to the Retreat Cabin.  Early this morning, as the Smokey Mountains were being the "Smokey Mountains", I captured this beautiful shot of my honey!

Then yesterday, between our chores, we had a mid afternoon cup of coffee and just sat on that lovely porch taking it all in.  I really believe that the coffee tastes better on the porch!

We had Pastor Dan and his lovely family over for dinner last night.  Cindy and Ari worked all day on preparing an "Italian Feast" for them.

Ari loves the front Porch of the cabin as much as we do.  She's growing up into a beautiful young lady.

When Dan and family arrived, we had that "Feast" and then the kids swam until it was dark.

We love our Tennessee Church Family!  Pastor Dan and I are like two old friends of many years.

Surely, our Lord put us right here!  We have much to do together.  Yes, "Surely our Lord knows how to deploy His troops!!

Today is "bitter-sweet".  It's time to pack up and head back to Florida.  All I can say is...."We'll be back"!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

RAMBLING ALONG.....

Spent the day mowing and trimming.  Cindy and I had our respective little tractors and just had a blast working on the Cabin in the mountains.

Between chores and repairs, we spend hours on the front porch discussing the condition of our country and how far we've fallen in such a short period of time.  Our hearts break for America.

But, the bottom line is....what can we do?  That's why we "pull back" when we're able and spend some quiet, quality time with each other and with our Lord.

He gives us clear direction in His Word.  Sometimes the shrill, yelling, clutter of the news makes it hard to hear His Word.

So, in the meantime, we'll spend a little more time up here (and enjoy every minute of it!)  before we have to return to the "Front Lines" of battle.  Here's a short clip of Cindy trimming around our old barn.  CINDY MOWS AT THE CABIN

May we urge you to guard your heart and go the Word of God for His direction, peace and joy.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

THE KEY IS....FORGIVENESS!!

Getting out of the "fray" of the battle for a retreat (strategic pull-back) is a good thing.  It often helps one to sort things out a bit.

That's why we love coming up to the "Retreat Cabin" in the mountains of East Tennessee, from time to time.

With all of the hatred and anger going on in America at this time, it's good to just PRAY & SEEK His direction.

The message that keeps coming to Cindy and I, for the answer to the problems of the world lies in, FORGIVENESS!

The "Core" message of the Gospel of Jesus is FORGIVENESS.  This is the most powerful message on the earth.  Forgiveness of our sins has made the way to heaven and "peace on earth".

We've been listening to the Gospel of John on YouVersion and even though we've known the message for many years, still revelation and insight comes to our hearts.

Oh, the Word of God is so precious.  We must have a continual flow of the Word to cleanse our hearts and open our eyes.

So, between doing little fix ups and chores and studying the Word of God, we'll have a good day of rest and peace.

We must admit, having a view of our front lawn helps to soothe the soul.  Thank God for this little retreat cabin!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

QUIET TIME AT THE CABIN

Spent the day working on things at the cabin.  Began with the faithful little 'White' Lawn tractor.  It's an "oldie, but a goodie".  Reset the valves and cleaned it up.

Took it out for a test and it's running like a champ....again.  Ended up mowing about 5 acres.  Love it!

Both Cindy and I took long naps and had an easy day.

In the evening, had a visit from our dear friends, Teresa and Richard.  Teresa helped us find this cabin for which we're extremely thankful.

We spent all evening going over the Word of God and comparing what's happening with the Second Coming of Jesus.  Folks, we're THERE!

With all of the turmoil and danger in this world, the best thing to do is hold tightly onto the Hand of Jesus and let His Word direct us.

The bottom line is...."Love the Lord thy God with all of your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself!"

Cindy and I went to sleep last night listening to the Word of God on YouVersion.  What a wonderful tool. As never before, we need the Word of God in our lives!!

Time for Church.  As always, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

AT THE CABIN....AT LAST!!

Oh, can't begin to tell you how good it feels to be at the "Retreat Cabin" with my Cindy and Ariana!

Early yesterday morning, boarded a flight in Florida for Tennessee.  Landed right on time.

Was met by Cindy and Ari and it was straight to the cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee.  Ahhh...looking forward to the next few days!!

There will be chores to be done....like our lawn tractor engine is having problems and there are a few other things to repair, but....this place is like a "disengagement from the world".  The peace and quiet is glorious!!

Above all, just being back with Cindy and Ari brings me great joy.  These last few months have been extraordinarily busy with intense missions to Ecuador and Haiti.

Was up early this morning, listening to the book of 1 John on "YouVersion" (a great way to get the Word of God).

This Scripture, "Beloved, let us love one another...." stands out amidst all of the hatred that is going on in America today.

Cindy and I pray for the Spirit of God to overwhelm America with His love!  Folks, let us PRAY for that to happen!!

Time to get to work on those chores.  Hope I can find the problem with the engine on our old lawn tractor.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

WHAT'S NEXT....FOR AMERICA!!

Last night, while watching the news....shots rang out, people ran in fear and 5 Police Officers lie dead & 6 wounded!  Where is America going????

Here's the latest...this tragic story is being updated every few minutes.  11 OFFICERS SHOT....5 FATALLY BY SNIPERS AMID PROTEST; STANDOFF ENDS

As for me, I'm headed to Tennessee this morning to join Cindy and Ari in the mountains.  We had scheduled this trip earlier, but I can't get there too soon.  May I urge you to PRAY FOR AMERICA during this dark time!!

Folks, let me say this clearly, AMERICA NEEDS GOD whether it realizes it or not!  Simply put, JESUS IS THE ANSWER for AMERICA!!

Meanwhile, during our Annual Inspection on the Little Donkey, Paul found several cylinders on the front engine that were performing below spec.

I phoned Continental Engines and they GRACIOUSLY will replace 3 cylinders at NO CHARGE!  This will allow us to replace all 6 cylinders with FACTORY NEW cylinders making the front engine on the Little Donkey "almost like new"!  Praise God!!

It's time to hit the road to catch the flight to Tennessee to see my Cindy and Ari.  Sure have missed them!!

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

"STREAMLINING"

The temperature in Cocoa reached 100 degrees yesterday as Peter and I were "streamlining" by cleaning out the garage (a job I truly dislike).  BTW, Peter's getting taller and I'm getting shorter.

These are some of the chores that have to be done before I can dash up to Tennessee to see my Cindy and Ari.

Cindy and I are working hard to simplify and "down-size" our lives.

Recently, I was asked to be a "Mentor" to David.  David works at Melbourne International Airport and has pursued a career in Finance (I wonder who should be "Mentoring" who?).

Yesterday evening, we met to discuss the "Journey" that we'll be taking over the next 18 month.  It'll be an honor to share some of my life lessons with this young man.  I suspect that we'll learn a lot from each other!

Today, it'll be more packing and tossing (getting rid of excess baggage).  Mmmmm, that sounds like a psychological exercise.  At any rate, I hope it's not quite a hot as yesterday.

As always, THANK YOU for your truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

FRIEND:  "A PERSON YOU LIKE & ENJOY BEING WITH / A PERSON WHO HELPS OR SUPPORTS A CAUSE OR CHARITY"

I've known Dan since High School.  When he married Charlene, she just became part of our "family of friends".  These two have been FAITHFUL friends through thick and thin and I THANK GOD for our friendship!

In all of my running around yesterday, trying to get things done so I can get up to the Mountains of East Tennessee with my Cindy, it worked out to meet Dan & Charlene for a wonderful Mexican Dinner.

They're in Florida for a few days before returning to their home in Baton Rouge.

During dinner, Dan pulled out his laptop and began showing me photos from 30 years ago of our missions together and my kids when they were very young.  Reminiscing over those photos, I realized just what a precious friendship I have with Dan and Charlene!

FRIENDS ARE A GIFT FROM GOD!!

I checked on the Little Donkey yesterday.  Paul has indeed found a few cylinders that are not performing up to standard.  We'll be pulling them today and sending them out.  That's what ANNUAL INSPECTIONS are for.  I THANK GOD for our great mechanic Paul, who keeps us safe!

So, today, I'll be out and about again knocking down my rather large "To Do List".  My heart wants to be in cool mountains of East Tennessee.  I hope to get the list under control so I can head up there.  It's time for a little rest!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

A DAY AT THE "JETTY"

Florida is a great place to live.  In our "neck of the woods", East Central Florida, we have beautiful place called "Jetty Park".  It's a wonderful place to have a picnic and just spend time with family.

Cherie and Christian organized this Independence Day celebration with 7 of my Grand Kids.

I stand amazed at the goodness and grace of our Lord in our lives!!

When I was young, I played the trumpet.  Rhythm, Christian's son recently picked up the horn and began playing.  He's "scary" good.  The boy definitely has a gift!

For much of the afternoon, I just sat back and watched my kids-kids play and laugh and just enjoy the daylights out of life.  It was a good day!

And....at the end of the day, I realized how blessed we are to live in America.

So, today, Peter and I are working on packing and getting ready for the "next mission".  Cindy and Ari are having a blast with friends up at the Tennessee cabin.  I hope to get up there later this week.

Paul is making good progress on the Little Donkey and soon....it'll be off on another adventure....somewhere.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

ON THIS AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY....I'D LIKE TO SHARE A GREAT AMERICAN STORY!!

America is a GREAT COUNTRY!  Yes, I love it and am extremely THANKFUL for it!  This morning, over a delicious cup of coffee, came across this story and wanted to share it with you.

It tells of one man's desire to do some good and take a broken, inefficient system and make it work....EXTREMELY WELL!

This is a good example of "American Ingenuity".  Yes, we still have hope and yes, I do believe that America can become GREATER!

Please take a few minutes and read this remarkable story.  It is worth the time.  Ben Franklin faced some of the exact problems that we face today and....he went straight at them with a good plan and realized a great success.

For example, delivery time for a letter from Philadelphia to New York went from 6 weeks to ONE DAY!

I PRAY that our next President has the same clear thinking and problem solving ability that Franklin had.  Here's the story - HOW BEN FRANKLIN'S POST OFFICE SAVED AMERICA!!

To all Americans, enjoy this Independence Day and remember to PRAY FOR AMERICA!!

Yesterday, had the wonderful blessing to have dinner with very dear friends, Joe and Diane Polozola and Dan and Charlene Andrews.  Joe introduced me to Jesus many years ago and have known Dan since High School.

Cindy and Ariana are on a "Mission in Tennessee" and I have some business to attend to in Florida.  Looking forward to seeing them soon!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

PS - Received a report on the American Medical Student that was shot in Haiti.  She is stable and slowly recovering, however....there is serious neurological damage as a result of the bullet striking her spinal column.  PLEASE PRAY for a miracle for Bhumi!!!  Thank you!!

FROM HAITI....TO THE "COKE ZERO 400"!!

Our "Mission" to Haiti was done...for now.  It was time for Ken and I to depart Haiti.  We "dashed" down to the Port-au-Prince Airport early Saturday morning.

What a joy working with Ken through some very challenging circumstances in Haiti.  We will work together again, and I look forward to it.

My next "leg" was to fly Spirit Airlines to Fort Lauderdale, rent a car and drive to Daytona Beach for a special evening.

Along the way, met with Lorne, a dear brother in the Lord who is with TST Water.  They make water filtration components and we're working toward joining together to put a lot of clean water around the world where it's needed most!

Also picked up Yahn, an Air Mobile "Water Mule" to join in the discussion of how we can bring more clean water to a thirsty world.

We then proceeded to Daytona Beach to meet with Marty of Miller-Leaman, another company that makes high level water filtration systems.

After a Plant Tour by Marty, we then headed to the Daytona Speedway where....Marty had tickets to the Coke Zero 400, a special treat after a tough "mission" to Haiti.

It was my first ever NASCAR Race and what an incredible experience!  Here's the opening!  LET THE RACE BEGIN! COKE ZERO 400!!

Special THANKS to Marty for sharing his Company Box with us and giving us a wonderful evening.

Running a little late this morning on the blog, actually running on "fumes".  Need some good rest.  As always, THANK YOU for your  invaluable prayer, love and support!!

LATE "BREAK-THOUGH" & ANOTHER "OPEN DOOR"!

The day began with installing the "missing-link switch".  After testing the install, to our disappointment, the system still did not work but....it was giving some "promising" signs.

Ken and I headed back to the Main Haiti Penitentiary in downtown Port-au-Prince and worked on the transmitting end endeavoring to get the system to "talk back" to Headquarters.

While in the Main Penitentiary, I met the Inspector of Police / Chief Operations Officer and his Associate "Pastor Jean-Claude".  These 2 gentleman "Hold the Keys" to conducting Chaplain Services within this prison.  Praise God!

They both heartily welcomed our ministry to bring the Good News of Jesus behind prison walls!!  Our Lord uses delays and complications for His Glory!!!

Now, because of the Communication Systems throughout the Haiti Prison Network, I'll have regular access to check on the equipment and....continue to lay the ground-work for a Prison Ministry in Haiti!!

But still, our "Communications System Network" was still not "talking to one another".  It was back to Headquarters and after hours and hours of different connection combinations....IT WORKED!!

It was a great joy to present the Operating Manuals to the 2 Principal Operators of the Communication System within Headquarters!

Praise God, this phase of the "Mission" has been accomplished.  There's still more to do later.

Ken and I will do some "wrap-up" work today and may just take a little time off and relax....maybe.

Again, can't THANK YOU enough for your precious and faithful prayer, love and support!!

COMMUNICATING WITH THE COMMUNICATORS!

Ken (our Harris Tech from Australia) and I have been all over Haiti in the last few days.  Whew, done more driving (in Haiti) in a week, than I've done in a couple of years!  A bit "road weary".

Traffic is often extremely congested, roads can be very rough and near-misses are a grim reality.  Yes, it's exhausting driving in Haiti!

Then to add to this challenging burden, once on location and all connected and ready to go, our system has been "missing a vital link".  Can't seem to get our equipment to communicate with one another.  That's the main purpose of our network!

Yesterday morning, we checked back at the Prison in Les Cayes and tried repeatedly to "Connect" to headquarters.  No success.

Spent hours on the phone with our Internet Provider (IP)  with no break-throughs.  Then, Ken had the idea, "let's talk to their techs face to face".

It was back to Port-au-Prince (another 4 hour drive) and met at a "white board" where Ken laid out exactly what we needed the system to do.

Looks like we may have found the missing link.  This morning, we'll connect another "switch" and hopefully....we'll get this system all tied together and bringing a new level of communications where it's desperately needed!

I must say, it's a true pleasure working with Ken.  He really knows his "stuff"!!

BTW, met with the Prison Warden in Les Cayes (where the "Commando" attack took place) and requested permission to conduct Chaplain Services to the Prisoners there (in the future).

He readily agreed.  Praise God for open doors to share the Good News of Jesus behind prison walls!!

So today, we hope to tie everything together and COMMUNICATE!  Please pray with us that it all works.  So THANKFUL for the safe journey yesterday and for the possible "comm" break-through.

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support as we travel on this road of life!! God bless!!
