REST....it's a good thing

Actually slept-in this morning.  Oh, did it feel good!  I'm usually up just before sunrise.

Cindy made the flight to Massachusetts to be with her Mom on her Birthday.  We had to be at the airport yesterday for 3:00 am for a 5:00 am departure.  Thus the extra sleep this morning.

I must say, Blogs are easier to write when "Air Mobile is on the Move".

Right now, in this rather "slow" time between Christmas and New Years....there's not a lot going on.  It's truly a good time to reflect on 2018 and look ahead to 2019.

While the Little Donkey has been awaiting a replacement engine, have certainly been able to keep flying by doing a lot of flight training and getting checked out in the RAM (Remote Area Medical) Cessna Caravan.

And...GOOD NEWS!  We're very close to having all of the funds to acquire that aircraft that will allow us to get the Little Donkey back in the air.  Oh, I've missed flying that sweet bird!!

BTW, if you'd like to make a donation toward the Little Donkey and receive a Tax Deductible credit for 2018, use the DONATE  button in the upper left hand of this rambling blog.

Today, I'll continue studying the (many) FAA Regulations and Fundamentals of Flight in preparation for my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) Check Ride.

So, today, on this sunny, warm day in Florida, Ariana and I may take a ride through the nature trail on the little yellow scooter.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

OLD WARBIRDS....

Peter and I stopped in at the Warbird Museum, at Space Coast Regional Airport, to see what Bob has been working on.

Bob's been wrestling with a stubborn bolt in the tail assembly of an F-111.  Bob will not quit until he's successfully removed that bolt!

While visiting with Bob, Joe Russo walked up with a cup of "Joe" in his hand.

What a joy & privilege to meet Joe, a WWII Veteran and true American Hero!!,

Joe was a Navigator on a B-24 Liberator.  He was shot down over Germany and spent over a year as a POW.

After his release he returned to the air on B-29's and B-52's.  Joe is 96 years old and sharp as a tack!!

Can't begin to tell you how happy I was to introduce Peter to these incredible Veterans!!

Peter and I cherished every moment that we could spend with these of the "Greatest Generation"!!!

Spent the rest of the day studying aviation history and FAA regulations in preparation for the Practical Exam for my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) rating.

Was up early this morning getting Cindy to Orlando International to catch a 5:00 am flight to Massachusetts.

She'll be joining her Mom for her 80th Birthday.  Bon Voyage, Honey!!

Will spend the rest of today studying, resting and enjoying good coffee.

I pray that you have a blessed day and THANK YOU, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

LITTLE DONKEY GETTING CLOSER TO FLYING!!

Because of another extremely generous gift from a Korean War Veteran, we're getting closer to fully funding the aircraft that will get the venerable Little Donkey back in the air.

THANK YOU, BOB!!

I'll tell you, Bob, who worked on F-80's in the Korean War and went on to work on SR-71's and even Air Force One, knows how to get the job done.

He has attached a very significant stipulation on each gift.  IT MUST BE MATCHED!

This is a very powerful motivating incentive to seek donors.  Well, another dear friend from Knoxville has come through and matched Bob's gift.

BTW, Bob is still "turning wrenches" on jet fighters.  He works regularly at the Warbird Museum here in Titusville.

GO BOB!!

Soon, and very soon, we'll have all of the funds in-hand to go pick up that beautiful and well equipped Turbo Cessna 337  in Phoenix.

This aircraft has a low-time rear engine that we'll put on the Little Donkey.

Then, we'll have many excellent options with the other aircraft.  GOD IS GOOD!!

So, here we are "betwixt" Christmas and New Years and our Lord is certainly working!!

And, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!!

BETWIXT...

The week between Christmas and New Years is often a "somewhat" slow time.

Christmas has come and gone and we're in the preparation of a New Year.  What will it bring?

This is a good time to reflect and pray.  Oh, there is always plenty to do with our jobs, family, gift returns, shopping for super bargains, etc.

But, taking the time to actually consider 2018 and all that has happened and looking ahead to 2019 could yield some promising results.

Just what do I want to accomplish in the New Year?  Or better yet, what does our Lord want to do in my life in 2019?

It seems that my "Theology" is getting simpler and simpler....."THY WILL BE DONE"....in my life.

As you go through this week between Christmas and New Year, may you spend time with HIM and seek HIS direction in your life.

And, here I say to you, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I love the fact that though, many give different dates of the actual birth of our Lord Jesus, on this day, December 25th, we acknowledge that our Savior was born.  PRAISE GOD!!

May you blessed on this glorious day!!

CHRISTMAS EVE....FINALLY HERE

The Christmas decorations usually go up just after Thanksgiving.

Then the non-stop ads and coupons flood us with "unbelievable" bargains and yes...I get caught up in it too.

But somewhere, in the midst of all of the turmoil is the awesome and majestic story of Jesus.

After all these years, I'm still amazed at the story of our Savior, born as an infant in a stable.

Yesterday, I had an extraordinary opportunity to preach 3 times back to back to back at the Hospital.

My Cindy was working a shift at another hospital and our great friends and Co-Chaplains, Alfred and Lisa Menendez, were in Colorado with their children.

That left 3 units needing a Chaplain and only 1 Chaplain to fill the bill....me.  When one is in a hospital near Christmas, there is usually a great sadness.  Such was the case yesterday.

Yet, simply telling the story and the true meaning of Christmas brought joy in the midst of sorrow and loneliness.

May you and yours be blessed this Christmas and may we ever remember the amazing story of God's never-ending love!

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your faithful prayer, love and support!!!  THANK YOU!!!!

LIKE A BIRD....

I distinctly recall the first time I saw an airplane.  I was 4 years old.  My family had just moved right next to a small airport.

I heard it first, and then looked up and saw a lovely yellow Piper Cub.  My heart leaped and I was instantly in love with flying.  I had to get a closer look.

At the tender age of 4, I crossed a busy road, crawled under a fence and found what I was looking for...an AIRPLANE (this is not an actual shot of me...it just captures the moment).

My mother was horrified that I faced such danger to just get close to an airplane.  I was hopelessly in love with flying.  Today, my love for flying has only gotten more intense!

It was a great relief when our Lord revealed to me that it was OK to fly for Him!!

He actually put it into my heart to fly.  He led me to Psalm 37:4...

DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD & HE WILL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART!

Well, all of this reminiscing brings me to my flight training yesterday.  Have been sharing how much I'm enjoying this training.

This little clip expresses a bit of my joy of flying...

The very cool thing is to be able to do the thing that you love and serve our Lord at the same time and reach out to those who are suffering.  It just doesn't get any better than that.  THANK YOU JESUS!!

So, it's Sunday morning here in sunny, but chilly (39 degrees..brrr) Florida.  It's time to head to church and then to the Hospital to bring the Good News of Jesus!

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

BACK TO FLIGHT TRAINING....

Today, I'll be back in the cockpit as a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) student.  As I've said before, I'm truly enjoying this flight training.

Gosh, haven't done this much flight training in 30 years.  I have all of my "Ratings" through Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and have logged nearly 9000 hours in 37 different airplanes....I suppose our Lord has some plans for this in the future.

Had to take a couple of weeks off from the CFI Training to get checked out in the RAM (Remote Area Medical) Cessna Grand Caravan.

Then, John Kater and I  and made the flight to Haiti carrying in vital medical supplies.

I still can't get over how big that single-engine freight hauling Caravan is!  We look like two "Hobbits" standing by it.

Now, during this Christmas Season, have a bit of free time, so it's back in the cockpit with my Instructor, Glen Gray.

Glen is an ATP flying for an airline and is a GREAT Instructor.  He doesn't cut me any slack!

Well, it's quite chilly here in Florida (brrrr 45 degrees), but the skies are clear.

Time to head to the airport to wrestle that little Cessna 172 back into the air.

We're getting ready for Christmas and are ever reminded of just what an awesome thing our Lord Jesus did for us!!!

What a story....came to earth as a baby, born in a stable.  What LOVE & GRACE!!!

And to you, who ramble down this road of life with me through this blog,  THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

MEETING A LONG-TIME FRIEND & SAYING GOOD BYE TO ANOTHER

I first met Joe Polozola in 10th grade Geometry Class at Baton Rouge High.  We instantly became competitors and best friends.

Several years later, Joe accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was absolutely determined to see me saved!

His persistence and pure grit paid off and I finally surrendered my life to Jesus.

"Friends don't let friends go to hell!"

Our friendship has surely stood the test of time (51 years!).

We get together from time to time to simply pray together and catch up.

If you've been praying for someone to come to Jesus, may I encourage you to KEEP ON!

I'm eternally grateful to Joe for not giving up on me until I came to Jesus!

On another note, my dear friend Larry Rittenhouse lost his beloved Joan after 65 years of marriage.

Larry and Joan demonstrated the love of God in their marriage in so many extraordinary ways.

Please PRAY for Larry as he deals with the loss of his best friend and mate.

Also, please pray for all of the children, grand children and great grandchildren who will so miss this precious lady of God.  Joan touched so many with her sweetness and love.

BTW, Larry used his God-given genius to build critical electronic boards for the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.

Only our Lord knows how many lives Larry's efforts have saved around the world.  THANK YOU AGAIN, LARRY!!

Well, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

AN UGLY DAY IN "SUNNY" FLORIDA...

Thunderstorms and possible tornadoes are in the forecast today.  Not a "Sunny" day. Certainly not a good day for flying!

Instead, we're "battening down the hatches" and riding the storms out.

Had a wonderful time yesterday presenting the Air Mobile Rescuer and sharing out of the Word of God (Matthew 25:35).

I'm so THANKFUL to our Lord for putting this remarkable machine into our hands.

We can take the most contaminated water and make it pure.  PRAISE GOD!!

Having the ability to bring clean water to thirsty folks is a grand privilege!

I love the fact that our Lord Jesus tells us to do just that in Matthew 25:35....

I was thirsty and you gave Me to drink....when you've done it unto the least of these, you've done it unto Me.

I also wanted to give you a good report on the acquisition of the aircraft that will provide the Little Donkey with the much needed rear engine.

We're getting closer and closer to securing the funding to complete the transaction. A dear Brother called me yesterday and offered to put another $7,000 up, but it will need to be matched.  THANK YOU Bob!!

We're believing our Lord for that to happen.  PLEASE join us in prayer for the funding, so that we can finalize the purchase and get that Little Donkey flying again.

So, on this stormy day, with tornadoes popping up all over the place, we ride it out.  THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

RESCUER DEMO...

This morning, I'll be meeting with a group of businessmen and pastors to show them the remarkable Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.  I love doing this!!

The "Rescuer" takes contaminated water and turns it into life-saving, CLEAN DRINKING WATER following disasters.

Can't begin to tell you how grateful I am to have this amazing tool.

Am reminded of the Words of Jesus when He tells exactly what He's going to say upon His return to earth in Matthew 25:35....

I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.

With the help of so many, we've been able to place over 1300 Air Mobile Rescuers in 47 countries providing CLEAN WATER to literally thousands (only our Lord knows how many).  What a wonderful way to demonstrate the LOVE OF GOD!

Please pray that we gain support to place more of these life-saving units where needed.

If you'd like to learn more about the Rescuer, here is an excellent video that shows the set-up, operation and maintenance of the unit.

BTW, CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) produced this training video for Air Mobile at NO CHARGE!  THANK YOU, CBN!!

OUR LORD KNOWS HOW TO FIX RADAR!

John Kater of RAM (Remote Area Medical) and I were flying the Cessna Grand Caravan to Haiti a few days ago.

Along the route, we encountered a number of storms.  We engaged our on-board weather radar to help us navigate around them.

The radar malfunctioned.  John "recycled" the system several times to no avail.

Suddenly, I recalled the simple, but extremely powerful acronym...A.S.A.P. (Always - Say - A Prayer).  John and I prayed and suddenly....THE RADAR WORKED!

John, with a little grin said..."mmm didn't know our Lord knew how to work on radar".  We just smiled knowing that our Lord knows how to fix anything.  PRAYER WORKS!!

BTW, the Radar did a superb job of helping us navigate around those storms!

So, again, may I encourage you to remember to ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER, no matter what the situation.

I use sticky notes and strategic reminders to help me remember to PRAY!

As we navigate through life, with all of it's challenges and victories, may we remember that our Lord is ever-present and just a prayer away.

THANK YOU, as always for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

A FRIENDLY REMINDER....

I don't quite remember when I "stumbled" on the wonderful acronym A.S.A.P. (Always - Say - A - Prayer), but I have used it literally hundreds, if not thousands of times.  Talk about a powerful tool!

Often, in this life, we'll become anxious or distraught over a situation.  We'll ponder it and let worry take over.

Then, a simple reminder (A.S.A.P.)  brings us back to our Lord and a prayer is breathed.  Worry flees and answers unfold.  It's just that simple.

I've posted this wonderful tool strategically (like when I'm walking out of my office) so that the simple truth that PRAYER CHANGES THINGS, is close at hand.

Remember, our Lord tells us to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING (I THES. 5:17).

So, again, here I go preaching to myself.  I do pray that you are blessed today and as always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

LIGHTS

Every Christmas Season, our dear friends, Trey & Chrissy Gordon of Hope for North Brevard put on a light extravaganza honoring our Lord Jesus.  It's good to keep "Christ in Christmas"!

Ari and I manned the Prayer Table.  What a blessing to be able to be available to those who want and need prayer.

Cindy was working a night shift at the hospital.  Her job, as a Psychiatric Nurse, allows her to minister and care for folks who are in deep distress.  Cindy has a wonderful gift of bringing the love of God to those who are suffering.  We're grateful for this opportunity.

Today, we'll be having our Annual Christmas Party at the Hospital in Orlando.  By God's Amazing Grace, we're celebrating our 21st year of bringing the Good News of Jesus into this Hospital.

We're grateful to the Hospital Administration, and above all, to our Lord Jesus for this wonderful Open Door.

It's time to get ready for church.  THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

The Haiti Medical delivery flight was a great success and yes, I have enjoyed flying that wonderful Cessna Grand Caravan immensely.

The truth is....I love flying!!

The Lord is so good to allow us to do the things that we love.

I'm reminded of Psalm 37:4....Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

I especially enjoy those Caribbean sunrises!

But now, I'm so glad to be home...for a while!

Today, Cindy and I will be wrapping presents for nearly 50 patients at the Hospital where we've been Chaplains for 21 years.  We love this ministry!  What a privilege!!

We pray that you are blessed today!!  And, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

BRINGING A "CARAVAN" (CESSNA) HOME...

It was time to wrap up this "Mission" and bring the RAM (Remote Area Medical) Cessna Grand Caravan back to it's home base in Knoxville, TN.

John Kater, RAM Director of Aviation, is an amazing pilot and was a pure delight to fly this mission with.

Again, note just how large this aircraft is. It dwarfs me and John.  What an awesome tool for our Lord!

With our Lord's AMAZING GRACE , we were able to deliver nearly a ton of vital medical equipment and supplies in advance of a RAM Medical Team who will be serving in Haiti.

Only our Lord knows how many lives will be touched by this outreach.  I'm so THANKFUL to be just a part of it.

John and I flew the final leg from Titusville, FL (KTIX) to Downtown Island Airport in Knoxville (KDKX).  We flew at 10,000' in the crisp morning air.  Here,we're just passing by Atlanta.

The RAM Caravan flew this entire mission like a dream.  WHAT A TOOL!!

Our next goal is to secure the aircraft that will provide a replacement engine for the Little Donkey.  It's time to get that sweet bird back in the air!

After delivering the RAM Caravan back to Knoxville, I jumped on an Allegiant flight back to Orlando.

Oh, it's good to be home!!

Ari and I went Christmas shopping (for Cindy) last night.  Love the "Season" celebrating the Birth of our Savior!!

Time to get to work.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciate prayer, love and support.

A GIFT OF CLEAN WATER & A BIG CARAVAN

Some time ago, OFNAC (the FAA of Haiti) expressed an interest in obtaining an Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.

In the event of an emergency at the Port-au-Prince airport (i.e. earthquake, hurricane, riot etc.), having clean water is essential to keep the operation going!

Yesterday, I had the privilege to present a Rescuer to Director General Olivier Jean.

Now, the airport is better prepared to handle emergencies.  Praise God!!

Now that the critical medical supplies and the Rescuer have been delivered, it was time to turn the nose of that big Cessna Caravan toward Florida.

Our next leg was smooth as silk.  We flew non-stop from Haiti to Fort Pierce FL to clear Customs.

We then flew to Titusville, FL where we met Cindy and Ari.

Just take a look at how BIG that Cessna Grand Caravan is.  Talk about a load-hauler!

Up early this morning to bring the RAM Caravan back to Knoxville where it is based.

We're so THANKFUL for having such a tool to bring precious loads of medical cargo where needed!

I did shoot a quick video showing us unloading the Caravan. We're amazed at what this aircraft can haul!!

Well, it's time to wrap this mission up.  We'll be flying back to Knoxville in a few minutes.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

DELIVERED!

Note:  Due to a weak internet signal, several attached videos did not download.  Will attempt to download them once signal gets stronger.

We flew the Cessna Caravan to Haiti yesterday and...DELIVERED the critical medical supplies.  PRAISE GOD!

Enroute, captured another incredible sunrise.  I never get tired of the spectacular show our Lord gives us each morning.

Upon arriving in Haiti, we were met by our ground crew, some of which have been unloading our aircraft for over 30 years.

Once the Caravan was unloaded, I just took a moment to THANK GOD for another successful mission.

Will be in meetings this morning with OFNAC (the FAA of Haiti) checking to see how the communication equipment is functioning and what we may do to help.

Haiti has, for the moment, calmed down following several weeks of political turmoil.  For that, we're THANKFUL!  Time to head to those meetings.

ESCAPING THE COLD....

There was finally a break in the snow in Tennessee.  John Kater and I quickly fueled the Grand Caravan and took off, heading south to warmer air.

We're THANKFUL that the Caravan does have anti-icing "Boots".

We did pick up just a tiny bit of ice as we flew between layers, and those "boots" functioned perfectly.

Today, we'll continue flying southward until we reach our destination to deliver the vital medical supplies and equipment.

We PRAY for favor as process through Customs and Immigration.  Please join us!

Well, it's time to fill the old coffee thermos and head to the airport.  As always, THANK YOU for joining us on this adventure and above all, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

"SNOW" DAY TO FLY....DELAYED

It was an easy decision....delay departure until the snow / ice passes.

As we saw the Caravan being covered in snow, we found a "heated" hangar and put that pretty bird inside.

John and I took the time to methodically go over all of the checklist procedures and continue my training in the Caravan.

Time well spent!  And...that line of snow just may be moving out of our way.

We're giving it plenty of time to move, as it's not a good idea to fly a single-engine plane (or even a twin) into known ice.

We'll be keeping a close eye on the weather and will "launch" our Relief Mission when the conditions are right.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

FROM SUNSHINE TO SNOW, ICE & FREEZING - NOW....WAITING FOR WX

Departed Florida yesterday evening with clear skies and 80 degrees and flew to Knoxville ...brrrr.  Cold rainy and snow.

Now, there's a solid line of wicked storms along our route back to Florida.

In this case, "Time is our friend".  We'll just wait a while and let that wicked line of storms pass.

Last night, slept at RAM (Remote Area Medical) Headquarters.

In the background is one of the RAM trucks which will soon be carrying free medical care to hundreds here in the U.S.

I'm THANKFUL for the vision and heart of Stan Brock, the Founder of RAM.

My Co-Pilot, John Kater and I will be heading to the airport to prepare the RAM Cessna Caravan for our next mission.

We're PRAYING that line of nasty storms blows through quickly.  In the meantime, we'll enjoy Dunkin Donuts and good coffee.  As always, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

Later today, I'll be flying (via Allegiant Airlines) to Knoxville, TN.

In coordination with Remote Area Medical (RAM), will be flying a full load of critical medical supplies and equipment in the RAM Cessna Caravan.

As a result of my recent Caravan flight training, I'll be Pilot in Command (PIC) on this mission.

We'll be delivering this equipment in advance of a RAM Medical Team that will be operating in a remote country.  We're blessed to be able to assist in this mission.

Will also be delivering an Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier....where it is truly needed.  PRAISE GOD!

Note:  We are not disclosing the destination for Security reasons.  Please pray for our safety.

It's time to pack my bags and go catch that Allegiant flight to Knoxville.

77 YEARS AGO....REMEMBER

In the midst of all the Christmas shopping and endless commercials, may we not forget Pearl Harbor.

My father, Roger M. Hurston, served in both Europe and the Pacific as a Combat Engineer in WWII.

December 7, 1941 impacted the world and literally millions died because of it.....WE REMEMBER.

Meanwhile, our quest to bring CLEAN WATER to a thirsty world and....BEYOND goes on.

Had another wonderful meeting with folks who can help us to improve on the already incredible Air Mobile Rescuer water purification system.

I'm very THANKFUL to our Lord for bringing such capable folks to help us to bring CLEAN WATER where it is so desperately needed!

And, I got a text this morning telling me that the training aircraft (a trusty Cessna 172) is ready to fly. A number of Avionics upgrades have been added.

I'm ready to continue my flight training toward obtaining my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) rating.

Well, it's back to the books studying and getting ready to go fly the 172 later today.

A gracious offer from NASA is to help us to make the Rescuer better by testing it in space, on-board the International Space Station (ISS).

Of course the need for CLEAN WATER is vital on earth as well as in space.  Needless to say, we're very excited about this opportunity!!

We'll be continuing the pursuit in our meeting today.  PRAISE GOD for such an offer!!

On another front, we're preparing for the "Next Mission".  Early next week, I'll be flying a load of vital medical supplies for Remote Area Medical (RAM)  in their Cessna Caravan in advance of a Medical Team's arrival.

I'm very thankful for the recent flight training allowing me to do that.  The Cessna Caravan is an amazing aircraft!

Once the "Mission" is complete,  we'll be heading to Phoenix, AZ to check out the aircraft with the low-time engine (that we'll putting on the Little Donkey).

We're very excited about this transaction.  It will give Air Mobile tremendous redundancy and will keep the Little Donkey flying for years to come!  PRAISE GOD!!

And to all of these plans, our prayer is.....THY WILL BE DONE!!!

I can't thank you enough for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

THY WILL BE DONE...

46 years ago, I asked Jesus into my life as Lord and Savior.  Everything changed at that moment.  It's the best thing that has ever happened to me.

You know, after all these years of walking with Jesus, my biggest prayer is...THY WILL BE DONE in my life.

As you know, life can be complicated and often is.

Many times, for navigation through the twists and turns of life, I cry out...THY WILL BE DONE

That simple prayer often re-calibrates my compass and brings me back on course.  It also brings great peace into my heart.

I'm also reminded of one my all time favorite acronyms....A.S.A.P.

Yes, I know that you may think...AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...

But there is a much HIGHER meaning....ALWAYS - SAY -  A - PRAYER.

Many times in life things come at us quickly.  It's easy, in the midst of a problem to forget to PRAY.  I have "sticky" notes strategically located to remind me to PRAY!

Today, I was scheduled to do flight training toward my CFI and the plane is down for maintenance.

While sitting here in my office in our home, thought I'd share these two wonderful  thoughts with you.....THY WILL BE DONE  &  A.S.A.P.!  May you be blessed today!!

And....THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

HOME...

Thanks to an excellent flight on Frontier last night, I'm home again.  PRAISE GOD!

Yesterday, had excellent meetings with the Remote Area Medical (RAM) staff.

We're planning a relief flight in the near future. I'll have the privilege to fly the RAM Cessna Caravan as Pilot in Command (PIC).

Again, I'm very THANKFUL to RAM for providing this excellent training (on the Caravan) and affording me this wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord.

I would like to say this, as a pilot.  It is very good to get periodic flight training to keep our skills sharp.

Also, in the aviation world, things are constantly changing.  There are often new regulations / procedures and on-board equipment to learn.

During this time when the Little Donkey is awaiting a replacement engine,  our Lord has arranged for wonderful training.  Again, I'm THANKFUL!!

And...I've taken this time to work toward getting my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) Rating.  I must be honest here....  "I'm loving the training!!"

I'm reminded of one of my all-time favorite Scriptures...Romans 8:28....ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD...

I know that I say this every single day, but I mean it with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

WRAPPING UP....

Today, will be in meetings at RAM HQ laying out the plans for the "next mission".

Later this week, will be flying the Cessna Caravan delivering critical medical supplies in advance of a medical team's arrival.

Will also spend several hours in the cockpit of the Caravan simply going over the systems.  Again, this is an AMAZING aircraft!

I'm extremely grateful to RAM (Remote Area Medical) for providing this valuable training on the Cessna Caravan!

I love it when organizations work together for a common goal!!!   I'm reminded of Psalm 133:1

Then, later this evening, will board a Frontier Airlines flight home.

BTW, still can't get over how CHEAP the tickets are between Knoxville and Orlando.  $37.00....that crazy cheap!

And tomorrow, have my next flight training lesson scheduled toward obtaining the CFI (Certified Flight Training) rating.

Again, I'm grateful for all of this flight training.  Mmmm, our Lord must be sharpening me up for some intense flying in the future.

"Let's do it!!"

Well, it's time to leave the "Retreat Cabin" and head to Knoxville.  THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

IMMERSED IN A CARAVAN...

It was a rainy, overcast day as I departed the Retreat Cabin for Knoxville.

Hoping and praying that the day would clear enough for some actual flight training in the RAM (Remote Area Medical) Cessna Caravan.

Then, I saw this incredible rainbow...

I met Darrel Moore of FedEx for our ground school / flight training.  We were joined by Jackson, a Volunteer Pilot for RAM.

Darrel has flown for FedEx for 12 years and KNOWS the Cessna Caravan extremely well!

We spent hours going over the Systems and especially the Emergency Procedures.

Darrel then took us through thorough pre-flights with a lot of learned experience.  This training is great!!

Then, in answer to prayer, the sky cleared just enough for us work in the pattern at Downtown Island Airport.

The Caravan is an incredible aircraft and it was a pure joy to fly the bird.

Darrel did a remarkable job of training me and Jackson.

At the end of the day, when our training was complete, I spent a little extra time hanging around the Caravan and just thinking of Stan Brock, the Founder of Remote Area Medical.

I'm so THANKFUL that our Lord Jesus put Stan and I together.  It has been a pure joy working with Stan!

It will be my privilege to assist RAM from time to time by making strategic flights that WILL result in lives saved.  PRAISE GOD!!

I'll be meeting with the RAM Staff tomorrow and discussing the upcoming mission.

BTW, a quick update on the aircraft that Air Mobile will be purchasing to replace the engine on the Little Donkey is moving ahead.

We're still raising the funds for this amazing deal and if you'd like to help, just go to the DONATE button in the upper left hand side of this "rambling blog" and give as our Lord leads.  THANK YOU!!

And....THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

FAREWELL PRESIDENT BUSH...MAJOR QUAKE(S) SHAKES ALASKA & REPORTING FOR TRAINING

After a quick, cheap ($34.00!) flight from Orlando to Knoxville, made a dash to the Retreat Cabin in the mountains of East TN.

Awoke to the sad news that former President George H.W. Bush passed away in the night.  What an amazing man.

Shot down in WWII at age 19 and went on to become the 41st President of the United States.

Here's more - FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE H.W. BUSH DEAD AT AGE 94

Also, yesterday, Alaska has been hit by 2 major earthquakes.  There is major damage.  No news yet of fatalities.

We're following this story very closely. Here's more on this catastrophe - 7.0 EARTHQUAKE; AFTER SHOCKS STRIKE SOUTH CENTRAL ALASKA; DAMAGE REPORTED ACROSS THE REGION

Meanwhile, I've reported for training duty in a Cessna Caravan.

It's rainy and overcast, so the "flying" portion of my flight training may be delayed a bit.

BTW, studied the "Starting Procedure" on the entire flight from Orlando to Knoxville.

Time for 2nd cup of coffee and need to hit the road for Knoxville.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU, for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

I just saw the above comment on casting spells. I do not IN ANY WAY endorse such practices. My faith and trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ. Joe Hurston - Air Mobile Ministries
