A VIEW FROM THE "DECK"....

Just thought I'd share the view from the "Deck" of this wonderful retreat cabin.  GOD IS GOOD!!

While out and about yesterday, stopped in at the Rogersville Airport (RVN) and had the privilege to meet Jim.  I call him "Jim Ercoupe".

The incredible little Ercoupe is one of 5 airplanes that Jim owns....and it's his favorite.

Behind the Ercoupe is his Piper J-4, another remarkable airplane.

Jim is 82 years old and going strong.  He still flies and is an "ace" mechanic.

As I shared my idea of "recruiting" missionary pilots, he loved the idea and strongly encouraged me to pursue this noble quest.

BTW, Jim served in the Air Force and helped keep B-52's going.  God bless you, Jim and THANK YOU for your service.

Jim has so much to give and share with prospective pilots and mechanics.

Hmmmm, I may be "recruiting" Jim Ercoupe to give some additional training to my students.

I'm reminded of what a dear Pastor (Roy Stockstill) once told me.  "Son, never forget, God knows how to deploy His troops"!! 

Wise words, Brother Roy!  

Well, the quest goes on and today, I'll be battening down the hatches in advance of the storms coming our way.

ON THE BRINK....

I, like many in America and around the world held my breath regarding the Iranian shoot-down of the U.S. drone.  This situation is extremely volatile.

First of all, there is still a deep pain in our hearts due to the senseless Beruit Bombing (Iran was responsible).  

Cindy lost her little brother, 19 year old Marine PFC Thomas Perron, in, what many call the beginning of the war on terror.

Next, while at Kennedy Space Center, I worked on a number of security projects.  The truth is, we, the public, don't know a great deal of what is going on behind closed doors.  

President Trump ordered the strike and then pulled back.  Why?  We don't know.  

Again, the situation is EXTREMELY VOLATILE and it is good for us PRAY for our Leaders to have EXTRAORDINARY WISDOM from God!!

As for me, I'll be listening to more of God's Word as I go through this day that our Lord has made.  

It's amazing how just listening to His Word, brings me closer to Jesus.  PRAISE GOD!!

A RAINY, BUT BEAUTIFUL DAY IN TENNESSEE

The rain falling on the tin roof of the little "Retreat Cabin" is a beautiful thing.  A good cup of coffee and the Word of God makes it glorious.

Glad that I cut the field yesterday before the rains came.  Always have chores to be done at the cabin.

With the blue tooth in my ear and the Book of Mark playing, it's as if our Lord Jesus is with me on the little tractor.

Of course, I know, according to the Word of God, that Jesus will never leave me or forsake me, but....there are times that His presences becomes very real.  This is one of those times!!

Cindy and I see some extraordinary ministry opportunities up here in the mountains of East TN and I'm scouting out the land.

So, on this rainy day, with the Word of God flowing, may faith grow in my heart.  May He direct our path and use us for His Glory!!  That is our prayer!!

WHILE AT THE CABIN....

Coming from the wedding of our son, Ben, it was just a few more hours to the "Retreat Cabin".

One of the things that I especially love and appreciate about this wonderful refuge is my time alone with Jesus.

As I've shared in the past, I love the "YouVersion" App that allows me to "hear" the Word of God.  Oh, over the years, have listened to so many wonderful Chapters.

Last night, I turned on the Book of Mark.  Now, this incredible Gospel is written like a "news reporter".


For example, in Chapter 1, Mark covers the following:


1)   Introduces John the Baptist
2)   John Baptizes Jesus
3)   Jesus in the Wilderness, tempted by Satan
4)   Jesus begins Galilean Ministry
5)   Begins "calling" His Disciples
6)   Cast out an unclean spirit
7)   Heals Peter's Mother-in-Law
8)   Many healed...on the Sabbath
9)   Preaching in Galilee
10) Jesus heals leper

And...all of that in CHAPTER 1!!  Mark literally hits the ground running and just keeps the amazing story of our Savior going to the end of his book.  I LOVE THE BOOK OF MARK!!

I often wonder what it would be like to have Jesus with me here at the cabin.  Of course, I know He is ever with me, as He has promised to NEVER leave me nor forsake me.  But, just hearing the Book of Mark brings our Lord Jesus ever closer.

So, in between meetings and chores, I'm "listening" to the Book of Mark and just growing closer to my Lord Jesus.

Praise God for these precious moments at the "Retreat Cabin"!!

RECRUITING....

While up in the mountains of East TN, will be visiting a number of airports to evaluate the need for flight instruction.  

As I've shared before, there is a serious shortage of aircraft pilots around the world.

This is another reason that I'm pursuing the CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) ratings.  This shortage also impacts the need for Missionary Pilots.

A LOVELY WEDDING...

My son Ben waited for the right one, as did Jessica!  

What an awesome blessing to conduct the Wedding Ceremony for Ben and Jessica.

The setting could not have been any more beautiful on St. George's Island in the Panhandle of Florida.

It was just a glorious weekend of joy and celebration.

CONGRATULATIONS BEN & JESSICA!!

After the Ceremony, I hit the road for the "Retreat Cabin" in the Mountains of East TN.

Stopped along the way to visit my dear friends, Ken and Ruth Baker just north of Atlanta.

They are wonderful supporters and prayer warriors for Air Mobile.  Ken has joined me around the world on missions.  Love these Guys!!

Arrived at the Retreat Cabin after 1:00AM.  Will be in meetings this week and working on a number of projects.  LOVE THE CABIN!!

A PLEASANT STOP IN THE PANHANDLE...

Yesterday, I had the wonderful privilege to perform the wedding for my son, Ben and his new bride Jessica.

This morning, I'm on the road bright & early for the Tennessee cabin. Have some work to do up there.

So Ben & Jessica, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

TENSIONS RISE....

The burning oil tankers are proof of great danger and tension in the Straights of Hormuz.  WE PRAY!!

This volatile situation can certainly accelerate into "Full Blown" conflict.  

Pretty compelling evidence does indeed point to Iran as the culprit.

Again, let us PRAY for our leaders to be directed by our Lord!

Meanwhile, along I-10 yesterday, Ari and I passed a jack-knifed trailer.  Didn't appear to have serious injuries.  Thank the Lord.

Ari is already writing her 3rd book!!  So proud of this gifted author!!!

So, our journey continues.
