THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES....MARCH 2017

4-1-17 Saturday 8:11 AM (Peru Time) - Piura, Peru - Air Mobile Relief Mission - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

10 MORE RESCUERS ARRIVE....1 "RESCUER" (ME) DOWN

Can't begin to tell you how proud I am of David Walen!  He was able to drop everything (Dave is a Lawyer and a great pilot) and fly 10 Air Mobile Rescuers to Peru commercially!

Yesterday morning, Brian and I went to the airport in Piura and picked up Dave and the 10 Rescuers along with some fresh CBN troops for the mission of bringing CLEAN WATER to the THIRSTY!!

I could tell that something was going on inside of my body.  After retrieving our troops and Rescuers, we headed back to the hotel.

About an hour later, it hit me like a tidal wave.  Violent vomit / diahrrea.  Whoa, haven't been sick  like that in 25 years.

You know, 2 nights ago, we ate at another hotel restaurant and I had the sense not to eat the lettuce.  I should have listened to that still small voice.

The team will be going out to another Relief Camp and getting all 10 Rescuers up and pumping.  I'll stay back and rest and let this "nasty thing" pass from my body.

Before the team left this morning, all of the Rescuers were brought up to my room where I inspected them to be sure that there was no damage in shipping.

Again, I'm so happy that David could come and deliver the Rescuers and....fly home with Brian and I when we're ready to depart.  God is GOOD!

And... YES, He does know how to deploy His troops (and Pilots!)!!!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

PS - PLEASE PRAY FOR MY RAPID AND COMPLETE HEALING!!!

"THE BEST LAID PLANS......"

Often, after clearing Customs and Immigration, as we did several days ago here in Piura, Peru, it's a pretty routine thing to fly to another city (Lima) in the same country.  Or....so I thought.

The airport at Piura is shared by the Military and Commercial Aviation.  The Base Commander, General Barak, along with Colonel Munoz could not have been any more helpful and courteous upon our arrival on Sunday.

BTW, the Peruvian Military even DONATED 129 gallons of fuel to Air Mobile for our mission!

So, yesterday, Brian and I arrived bright and early to the airport at Piura.  We filed a standard Flight Plan to fly to Lima.

Everything "seemed" to be approved.  Did a final pre-flight check.  Got in the Little Donkey and fired up the engines and requested permission to taxi for take-off.  So far, so good.

Then, the tower told us to hold our position.  OK, we had plenty of fuel.  Multiple relief aircraft and helicopters were coming and going.  So, we held our position and....waited and waited and waited.

We were then told to return to our original position and shut down the engines.  That's a pretty serious command.

We were told to call back in 10 minutes.  So, with the engines shut down and master switch on (to power the avionics) we sat.  After 10 minutes, we were told to wait again.  After about 30 minutes, it dawned on me that I'd better start the engines or....

You guessed it.  The battery was drained and could not start the Little Donkey.  There was enough "juice" left for me to inform the tower of our situation.

Again, the Military jumped right into action and within minutes a power tug came and the Little Donkey fired right up.

Now, we called the tower and told them that the engines were running and we were ready to go....whenever they were ready to let us go.

It is very hot in Peru.  With the engines running, at least we got a bit of breeze from the front prop.  Again, we waited and waited.  Again, we were told to shut down the engines.

This time, Colonel Munoz came over to us and asked what was going on.  We explained.  He got on the phone and called Lima.  After a trip to his office and numerous phone calls...we were CLEARED to go.

We were told where we would park at Lima and...we fired up the engines, called the tower and were told to HOLD OUR POSITION.

Now, another factor began to play.  A looming, massive thunder storm was coming our way.  I have "Foreflight" (gives weather in cockpit) and I could see that the  weather along the entire route to Lima was deteriorating.

Brian and I PRAYED and asked our Lord what we should do.  I determined that if permission was not granted in the next 10 minutes, I'd CANCEL the flight, even if permission were granted.

That's exactly what happened.  I called the Tower and told them CANCEL everything.  We weren't flying to Lima today.  Then....I went a bit further.  Yes, I was pretty steamed.

I said, over the air that we were a Humanitarian Relief Flight.  We had water purification systems for the people of Peru.  We simply wanted to fly to Lima to continue our mission of helping.  WHY weren't we granted permission.

I guess I could have left all of that out, but sometimes....things just need to be said.  Here's a little clip of my comments after we aborted the mission - AIR MOBILE JOE'S "COMMENTARY" AFTER MISSION ABORT

Moments later, a young Peruvian Air Force Officer came over to offer us assistance and then...the massive Thunder storm arrived at the field.

All flights stopped.  And yes, I was GLAD that we had not taken off and would have had to deal with that monster storm in the air.

ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD.... ROMANS 8:28

Furthermore, that storm didn't just bring us rain, it brought a LOT of rain!  It just poured.  Brian and I realized that Piura was indeed the GROUND ZERO of this cataclysmic flooding.  The BATTLE was far from over!!

Here's another little clip during the rain storm - IT'S NOT JUST RAINING....IT'S POURING!!!

Meanwhile, our Premier "Water Mule", Dave Walen was in the air flying to Lima with 10 more Air Mobile Rescuers.  Brian immediately got on the phone notified the CBN Team that plans were changing.  We weren't flying to Lima at all!

Those 10 water purifiers needed to be brought to Piura and put into service where the storms were raging and the rivers were rising and some folks have been without clean drinking water for weeks.  Yes, our Mission Plans changed and now, we're re-positioning here in Piura.

Dave landed late last night and with the help of the CBN staff and a lot of prayer, all 10 Air Mobile Rescuers have been cleared and are ready for action.  Flights are being arranged for the Lima CBN Crew to come to Piura.

This morning, Brian and I have a little break.  The crew won't arrive until later and...for the first time in weeks, we can have a "lazy morning".  I'm ready for that.

OK, I'll admit it, yesterday was a big challenge.  What I thought would be a routine flight to Lima turned out to be so much more.  Now, we're moving the entire operation and I believe that our Lord has HIS ways of directing our paths.

The rain has fallen continually since yesterday afternoon.  That's the last thing these folks need.  Rivers are rising and folks are suffering.  Soon, we'll have 20 Rescuers in place bringing clean water but....the need is so great here.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR PERU!  Time for that third cup of coffee!!  As always, THANK YOU for joining me on this Adventure.  THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

10 TIMES THE WATER!! & 10 MORE RESCUERS ON THE WAY!!!

Our CBN Team  crossed the river again (the water level is down, well in the banks...for the moment).  The folks are just waiting for the next storm to come.

Our goal was to go to a Church outside of Piura and set up 10 Air Mobile Rescuers at one time.  We've never done that before.  We had our CBN team of "Water Mules" ready for action.

The set-up went smoothly and with 2 small 800 watt generators and 2 batteries, we got them all working and pumping nearly 250 gallons of  CLEAN water per hour.

Our Team of Volunteers did a GREAT JOB!

After 4 hours,  2000 people got clean water.  All brought their own empty vessels, and left with clean water.  It was a beautiful thing to watch!

PRAISE GOD for this great little machine that makes such a difference in so many lives!!

Today, our plan is to fly the Little Donkey from Piura (SPUR) to Lima (SPJC).  It's about 500 statute miles.

There are looming storms on the east side of the Andes.  We'll be keeping a close on them!

And....PRAISE GOD, we have 10 more Air Mobile Rescuers coming!!
Our great friend and pilot and "Water Mule", Dave Walen is boarding a flight today and coming to Lima with 10 more Rescuers!!

We're so THANKFUL to CBN for funding these units.  We so THANKFUL to be able to bring clean water in the Name of Jesus!!!

Please remember to pray for us as we fly the Little Donkey down to Lima.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

DEEPER INTO THE MUD & SUFFERING...BRINGING CLEAN WATER

Began the day at the hardware store buying the last 2 generators and batteries.  Our plan is to set up multiple Rescuers at a single location.

We'd cross the river in Piura, as the bridge was now open.  Massive flooding had cut the city in two.

The river had, for the moment, gone down, but more storms are in the forecast.

We had been cut off from the Little Donkey and from 9 Air Mobile Rescuers.  We got in the long line and slowly inched across the river.  Praise God, we made it.

Immediately upon reaching the other side, we could see the terrible effects of flooding.  We worked our way to the office where we had deposited the 9 Rescuers.  That office had been inundated with mud, but he Rescuers were retrieved safely.

Now, it was time head to a large evacuation center that needed clean water.  Our plan was to set up 6 Rescuers and give a lot of clean water quickly.  This also gave us an excellent opportunity to train more "Water Mules"!

Once the clean water began to flow, the kids came along with the empty water bottles.  This is what we've come for!!  Can't begin to tell you how good it feels to give a cup of clean water in His Name!!

Once the "Clean Water Operation" was flowing, I slipped away and went to the Peruvian Air Force Base and checked on the Little Donkey.  The flood waters had gotten close, but did not get into the base.

Then, we inspected the fuel source and did a hydro check and it was good.

I then fueled the Little Donkey and....the Peruvian Air Force DONATED the fuel.  Praise God and THANK YOU, PERU!!

The river, for now, has continued to go down, but...the rains are still falling in the mountains.  More flooding is expected.

We're rejoicing that we now have Rescuers in place and ready.  We have "Water Mules" trained and today, we plan to reach out to more desperate communities.

The needs are so great here.  At times, it's just plain overwhelming but...we do what we can do and pray for our Lord to bless our efforts!!

Time to head out again and bring clean water in His Name!

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CALLING WATER MULES!! INTO THE THICK (MUD) OF THE BATTLE!!

The first thing we did yesterday was go and find a generator and a battery to power the Rescuers.  By the way, the battery cost more than the generator!

The RAIN JUST KEEPS ON FALLING!  This is an ON-GOING DISASTER & the floods just keeps coming!

On this satellite image, we're located at the bottom by SPUR.

Our CBN Staff rounded up some excellent "Water Mule" Candidates.  This is essential to get and keep the clean water flowing.

Once we had the power (Generator & Battery) situated, we settled into a morning of training Water Mules!

In the middle of our training, the power went off and we just switched right to our new battery and just went right on training in the "Light of the Rescuer!"

Of course, we have our challenges along the way.  One of our "connectors" to the battery failed and we had to improvise and make new leads with heavier wire.  That fixed the problem.

Now, it was time to head out into the "thick" (mud) of the battle and bring some clean water to thirsty folks!  We managed to find some boots and I got the white pair.

One of our prime contacts is Pastor Mario.  He took us right to a small community that has not had clean running water for weeks.

We set up right on the side of the road and began producing clean water.  The part that I really love is taking that "First Drink".  That convinces the others that the water really is good and clean!

Then, one of the kids volunteered for his first drink.  Soon, they were all drinking their fill of fresh, clean water!  PRAISE GOD!!

I can't begin to tell you how much I love my job.  I'm so THANKFUL to Brian and CBN for helping us to get out into the world and bring the thirsty clean, fresh, delicious water!!

We then left that community and headed to the river.  The banks had already overflowed (again) it appears that the river is rising.....again!

Here's a little clip showing the trek into the "thick of the muddy water".

We found that most of these folks had not had access to clean drinking water for weeks!  They're drinking water...but it's not clean!

Today, our challenge is to get across the river to the Little Donkey and the other Air Mobile Rescuers.  We've been cut off from them since we arrived due to the flooding and cresting river.  PLEASE PRAY that we make it to the other side today!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

AIR MOBILE IN PERU....GROUND ZERO (THERE ARE MANY!!!)

Brian and I were up early and to the airport in Panama City, Panama.  After topping off the fuel, we were off for our 863+ nautical mile (1000 statue mile) flight from Panama City to Piura (SPUR) Peru.

It is extremely important that I "squeeze" every ounce of fuel in the Little Donkey as possible.

This would be a long flight, over the ocean and right next to the "Towering" Andes Mountains (20,000+'!).

Along the route, between our little airplane and the mountains were a solid string of thunderstorms....dumping water on the already flooded and devastated folks below.  Notice all of the "lightening bolts" over the region!

We initially climbed to 15,500' but found headwinds there.  By simply coming down to 13,500', we actually gained a slight tailwind.  Love those!!

After 5 hours and 20 minutes, we descended for landing into Piura, Peru.  We could see the massive flooding everywhere.  We knew that many daunting challenges lie ahead.

After verifying our contacts and authorization with Air Traffic Control (multiple times), we were cleared to land at the Military Base in Piura, Peru.

We were met by a high ranking delegation of officers (General and Colonels).

The Officers THANKED us profusely for coming.  Help is DESPERATELY needed in so many areas.  Peru is flooded from the extreme north (where we landed) all the away down to Lima!  This is a major catastrophe for Peru!!

The CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) team, already in place in Piura, met us and we unloaded our precious cargo of Air Mobile Rescuers.

Fueling the Little Donkey would be a challenge.  The military base does have AvGas, but it is in a large bladder and surrounded by flood waters.  We hope and pray that the fuel is not contaminated with water!!  We will test it thoroughly!!

As we left the airbase, we crossed a swollen river. Folks anxiously looked on and watched the water rising. Would it spill it's banks?

After we crossed the swelling river, we found out that the bridge would close at 4:00pm.  That meant that the Little Donkey was on one side of the river and we were on the other.  I didn't like that!

The CBN Crew arranged for Brian and I to stay at comfortable hotel in town.  Over dinner, we discussed the best strategy for deploying the 10 Air Mobile Rescuers to help the most needy.

Then, we set up the Rescuer and took some very, very dirty water and made it extremely clean!  That what we've come to do!!

It was a very long day and a comfortable bed was a blessing!

Up early and our team will be going out into some of the very hard hit areas.  Looking at the Satellite Image this morning, the STORMS are still raging, rivers are rising and the suffering is intense.

We are located at SPUR on the map.  Looks like more intense storms heading our way.  This is very bad news for those who are already flooded!!

Dear Lord, help us to help those around us!  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

3-26-17 Sunday 4:21 AM (Panama Time) - Panama City, Panama - Report submitted by:  Air Mobile Joe

ON OUR WAY....LONG DAY / DODGING STORMS & FIGHTING HEADWINDS!

Brian and I were up at 1:00AM for an early departure.  Knew it was going to be a LONG day!

After a final load and securing our precious cargo of Air Mobile Rescuers, we prayed and were on our way.

We departed Titusville and climbed to 17,000' and found strong headwinds.  Came down a bit, and THANKFUL for properly pumping fuel.  We'd need all the fuel today!

We landed in Haiti somewhat "on schedule".  Had a fairly quick turn around.  Fueled and were on our way to Panama.

Those strong headwinds fought us all the way.  At times they were 35+ knots reducing our ground speed to 145 knots.

We were crossing a lot of ocean and again, so THANKFUL for those extra, well pumping fuel tanks!!

For Brian, it gave plenty of time in the Word of God, a nice way to spend a long day of flying over 1500 miles of ocean in the Little Donkey!

As we finally saw the little strip of Central America and approached the coast of Panama, we both breathed a sigh of relief.

Landing at Panama City can be challenging.  We were "in-line" with 8 other aircraft and slowly and methodically after many vectors, we landed.

We flew 11 hours today and were just thankful to be 2/3 of the way to our destination.

As we look at the final leg of 862 nautical miles, we can see that we'll have multiple challenges with thunderstorms all along our route.

Our destination in northern Peru is surrounded by thunderstorms and that's the last thing these folks need.  You can see the "lightening bolts" all along the way.

Massive flooding is till happening and CLEAN WATER is desperately needed.  PLEASE PRAY for us as we endeavor to get there with the Rescuers!

Time to head to the airport and make that final leg.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!!

FIRST STEP....LONG JOURNEY

All inspections are complete.  All fuel tanks are pumping correctly and....it's time to launch this mission to Peru!

The Little Donkey (Ti Burik) is all ready to fly over 3300 statute miles.

This is going to be longest journey for both this little airplane, as well as this pilot!

Brian and I loaded 10 Air Mobile Rescuers in the Ti Burik.

We've been in close touch with the CBN Personnel on the ground in Peru and we have our clearances all along the way.

It is an amazing thing, that this little airplane can transport devices (Rescuers) that can provide clean drinking water for 10,000 people per day....for years!

Tens of Thousands need clean drinking water in Peru and we're on our way to help.  Praise God and THANK YOU for being with us!!!

PLEASE remember to PRAY for us today.  It's going to be a lot of flying over water and next to towering mountains.

We're THANKFUL, that this morning, the weather looks good along the way.  That can change....and we're praying for smooth sailing and clear skies!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

AN AMAZING STORY OF SURVIVAL...IN PERU

Came across this story of Evangelina Chamorro.  Surely God saved this precious lady.  Here's her story - PERU MUDSLIDE SURVIVOR: "I PRAYED TO GOD FOR STRENGTH"!

My heart is breaking for the people of Peru.  This is the worst flooding in many years and....IT'S STILL RAINING!

Notice from this "Route" shot, the big red "glob" by SEGU (Guauaquil, Ecuador).  A lot of rain is falling in the region of Peru that is already inundated.  These folks need help and our PRAYER!

As we're getting the Little Donkey ready for the long flight to Peru, we found a transfer pump that was functioning intermittently.  That's not good.  We'll need every ounce of fuel for these "long legs".

A replacement pump is being "Fed Ex-ed" to us this morning.  We're even getting an extra one to carry with us.

We changed the oil and all other systems are working great on the Little Donkey.  As soon as those pumps arrive, we hope to be in the air soon for PERU!!

During this extra time (of waiting), been able to catch up on a lot of business.  Also, have been able to study the charts and approaches for our long journey.

We'll fly over 2500 miles of ocean, along with a lot of hostile jungle and right next to the Andes Mountains with peaks reaching 20,000+ feet!

Yes, this is going to be quite a journey.  So glad to have you along with us....with your precious prayer, love and support!!

THE "ROAD" TO PERU

The rain is still is still falling in Peru!  This is turning out to the be one of the worst floods in modern history for Peru.  The need for CLEAN WATER is paramount.

We're planning our route now.  It's going to be a very, very long flight (2800 nautical miles!) for the Little Donkey.  So glad for the "long legs" (14 fuel tanks)!

Before departing on such a journey, we had to "Down Load" South America into our navigation system.  BTW, 2800 Nautical miles = 3220 statute miles!!

I'm so THANKFUL for Orlando Aircraft Services (OAS).  John and his son Troy, have been handling our Avionics for 35 years.  We have History!

I flew the Little Donkey to Orlando yesterday morning to spend the day "Down Loading" updates and charts.

But, before taking off, I was met at the airport by Greg Pallone of Channel 13 News.  He did an interview explaining our "Mission to Peru".

After the interview, flew to Orlando and Troy and I began the long day of "Downloads".  Again, I'm so appreciative for good friends like Orlando Aircraft Services!!

Last night, I picked up Brian Scott of CBN (Chrisitan Broadcasting Network).  He will be joining me on this mission.  Brian and I have traveled the world together bringing CLEAN WATER & THE GOOD NEWS of JESUS!

This morning, Paul, our great mechanic, and I will be doing a final visual inspection on the Little Donkey and doing an oil change.  By the time we return, we'll likely to have flown almost 50 hours.

So, it's time to head out into this day that our Lord has made.  We're so THANKFUL to have you on this mission with us.  THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

FLIGHT HOME....ONLY TO LEAVE AGAIN / GOING TO PERU

We're going to Peru!  While in Haiti, the decision was made for Air Mobile to go and bring clean water where it is desperately needed!  It's still raining and the flood devastation is still in full force.

First I had to get the Little Donkey (Ti Burik) back to Florida to get Air Mobile Rescuers and put our team together.

The flight from Haiti to Florida was beautiful.   On the way back, my mind just kept going to terrible suffering and thirsty people in Peru.  Oh, Lord, please help us to help them!

Ti Burik is flying beautifully.  However, we need to update our South America Data Base before launching.

I'm very pleased to say that Brian Scott with CBN will be joining me on this Rescue mission.  Brian and I have traveled the world together. We're so THANKFUL for the support and help of CBN.

There are a lot of details to put together in a very short period of time.

PLEASE PRAY for our Lord to give us extreme wisdom and direction.  Here is our "Projected Route".  You can see that there is still a lot rain and storms hammering the coast of Peru.

Time to head to the airport and get the "ball rolling".  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

MORE CLEAN WATER / TROOPS ARRIVE / PERU DESPERATION!

I first met Dr. Demorsey at OFNAC (FAA of Haiti).  When I explained what Air Mobile did with our water purification system, I saw his face light up and he quickly said, "Oh, we need one of those".

Yesterday I had the privilege to present an Air Mobile Rescuer to Dr. Demorsey.

Now, the hospital will have very clean water in the lab and an Emergency source of clean water at all times.  PRAISE GOD!

From the Hospital I headed straight to the Port-au-Prince airport and picked up a team, led by my son Christian and safely brought them to the Village.

They'll be with Barbara for the next week.  PRAISE GOD for fresh troops!!

In the middle of all the activity in Haiti, we've been "tracking" the devastating situation in Peru.

The flooding is continuing and tens of thousands have lost everything. There is a desperate need for clean drinking water.  ROOFTOP REFUGEES PLEAD FOR CLEAN WATER IN FLOODED PERU CITY

I've been on the phone with Brian Scott of CBN and....we may be going to Peru!

Have already begun to work out the routing for this long journey.  PLEASE PRAY that our Lord will lead us!

It's time to fuel the Little Donkey and see what we can do to help.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

A SUNDAY RIDE & UPDATE ON PERU FLOODING

I have a little blue motorcycle in Haiti.  It's great for getting places quickly.  Often, there is extreme "gridlock" and the motorcycle just cuts right through the mess.  It's a blessing.

Yesterday, Randy and I had a few errands to run and I took the little blue bike out.

Along the way, the front brakes were not working and I needed a little help from a friend.

I aimed toward Global Outreach to see my good friend, Nicky.  Was hoping that he was there.  Nicky's a great mechanic.

While driving down the road to see him....here he came with his family!  Perfect timing!

If I would have turned down his road 2 minutes later, would have missed him.

Within minutes, had the brakes bled and the tires aired.  I love the way our Lord "positions His troops"!!

Randy and I stopped by the new Women's Prison in Ti Tayin.  Cindy and I are hoping to establish a ministry to the women.  Was able to speak to one of the Prison Officers about coming back and setting up this outreach.

We then went to the Memorial set up for the 250,000+ Haitians that perished in the January 12, 2010 Earthquake.  The Memorial reads...."We will never, ever forget".

This is the very spot where the mass graves are.  It is a solemn and sad place.  We spent some time in prayer there.

From time to time, we get to witness the joy of an adoptive parent coming to get their child.  John and Erin began the long process of adopting Brian 3 years ago.

Finally.....the process has been completed and John held his adopted son and will be taking him to his new home in America tomorrow.  Can't begin to tell you what a joy it is to witness this amazing event.

Today, will be delivering an Air Mobile Rescuer to a Hospital that needs very clean water for their lab as well has having an "emergency purifier".  The Doctor who requested the Rescuer is the Chief Coroner for Haiti.

Time to get on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made.  As always, THANK YOU for precious prayer, love and support!!

AN ORIGINAL "WATER MULE"

We delivered our first Air Mobile Rescuer to Haiti in 2004 following a deadly flood that took the lives of 3000 Haitians.

Barbara had a young assistant named "Johnny".  Ultimately, Johnny traveled all over Haiti and helped us to deploy hundreds of Rescuers.  Johnny was one our original "Water Mules"!

Today, Johnny has his own orphanage and school and yesterday, we had the privilege to present an Air Mobile Rescuer to Johnny.  He certainly knows how to use this great tool!!

As I've shared in past blogs, we have a system to keep the Air Mobile Rescuers running.

It is simply this.  If any Rescuer operator in Haiti has a problem with the unit, all they have to do is come to our "Village" in Bon Repos with their ailing unit.

On the spot, we will replace that unit with a refurbished one.  It's just that simple.  We've done this for 14 years and never charged a single penny for the service.  The system WORKS!

Each time I come to Haiti, I sit in "Joe's Depot" and refurbish Rescuers.  We like to maintain an inventory of between 8-10 units.  In all the years of doing this, we haven't run out of replacement units a single time!

Yesterday, Randy and I brought our Rescuer Inventory up to 11 Rescuers.  That's a good number.

I'm still amazed at how well this machines is designed.  Every component is "replaceable".  That means that Rescuers that were brought into Haiti 14 years ago are still in operation!

All along the way, we've trained many "Water Mules".  By God's Grace, we have folks from all walks of life who can travel anywhere in the world and deploy and maintain Air Mobile Rescuers....and keep CLEAN WATER FLOWING!

I'm pleased to say that we've added another "Water Mule" to our Team, Randy!  Randy is a quick learner and will be able keep Rescuers running world wide.  Welcome aboard, Randy!!

The sun has risen and the second cup of coffee has been poured.  It's time to get on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made.

JUST DROPPED IN....

Do you know the way...sometimes you just feel like dropping in on a friend?

The other day, while enroute to St. Marc (to work on clearing the Containers), I just stopped at Global Outreach to see how Nicky and his family were doing.

We just chatted for a bit and then Nicky asked..."Do you have a Broker yet?".  My answer was, "Not yet".  Then he suggested I consider Joel.  Global and a lot of other Missions use him and he's "very good".

A day went by and I called Joel.  We arranged to meet yesterday afternoon.  He just happened to be very close to the "Village" and he came by.  Soon, I realized WHY the other missions were using Joel.  He's GOOD and will help us to FREE those containers!!

We still have a ways to go in the long and winding process of clearing Containers, but Joel really knows the steps and will be invaluable in guiding us through the process.

Yes, surely our Lord knows how to deploy His troops and regulate our "dropping in on friends"!!

Spent yesterday in Joe's Depot bringing Air Mobile Rescuers back to life.  It's a great opportunity to train Randy on the operation and method of refurbishing the Rescuer.

We have units that have been in operation in Haiti for 14 years.  What a great machine!

We currently have 347 Rescuers throughout Haiti and over 1000 Rescuers in 48 countries.  PRAISE GOD & THANK YOU to our many friends who help us!

Often, while working in the "Depot", we're visited by little friends.  Every person in the "Village" has been drinking "Rescuer" water and there's NO DIARRHEA (or any other water-borne disease) in the Village.  CLEAN WATER is an amazing gift from God!

Today, we'll be back in the Depot doing more training and bringing Rescuers back to life to help keep the CLEAN WATER FLOWING!

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

FOOD, WATER & MEDICINE!

What a day.  On our way to St. Marc, we stopped by my very good friend, Johnny's (Jean Thelus) orphanage.  Have known Johnny for over 20 years.

He worked for Barb for many years and now is building an incredible orphanage.  Johnny will readily tell you that..."Barb trained me well!"  What a joy to see him.

We discussed the need for CLEAN WATER for the orphans and Johnny proudly showed me the well recently dug.  We agreed, on the spot, for Air Mobile to donate a Rescuer to keep those kids in CLEAN WATER!!

BTW, Johnny helped Barb and I to deploy over 200 Rescuers throughout Haiti.  He knows the Rescuer and will keep it running very well!

It was another blessing to see Kindra.  Kindra worked for Barb also for many years and was with a team helping Johnny to build his orphanage.

There is a "stream" of water that flows through the area and it is pretty dirty.  Another Air Mobile Rescuer will be provided to give clean water to the whole community.

From Johnny's Orphanage, Randy and I drove on up to St. Marc to continue the process of "FREEING" those 2 Containers.....that are chocked full of food and medicine!

We were met in front to the Clearing Agency by a number of Brokers who wanted to "help" us.  After talking to about 5 "agents", we found ourselves before the Head Guy, Sony.

We presented what documents we had and explained where we were in getting the completed Franchise (A Franchise will theoretically clear our shipment "Duty Free").

Sony was very courteous and professional.  Our next step was to get his "Cover Documents" that allows the process to move to the next step.  It was DONE in about 30 minutes.  PRAISE GOD!

Now, this is just 1 step forward.  We have numerous  more to successfully FREE the containers.  The journey continues.

Randy and I are so THANKFUL to have returned safely.  The drive to St. Marc can be filled with danger and we NEVER take the journey for granted.

Today, we'll be deploying another Air Mobile Rescuer in a Hospital that needs very clean water for the Lab.  I love my job!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CONTAINERS...CONTAINERS!!

Cindy and I are working on "FREEING" a total of 4 Containers.  2 in India and 2 in Haiti.  This is often a long and complicated process.  We're so THANKFUL to be partnering with Bob Bostic and "Deliver the Difference" on this life-saving project!

Here's the Report that Cindy sent out yesterday - FREE THE CONTAINERS!!!!

The Feeding Program has already begun in Ongole, Inday.  While Cindy and Crew were in India, enough food was purchased to "Launch the Feeding Program" but...those 2 Containers will allow us to feed 1500 kids every single day for a year!

Oh, PLEASE PRAY about helping us to help FREE those containers!!

Meanwhile, Randy and I are here in Haiti working diligently to free the 2 Containers that are loaded with vital medical supplies and food.  Again, it's a long and complicated progress but....we're making progress.

So, today we'll be out and about moving the project forward.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

MYSTERIOUS INTERFERENCE.....

When we approached the north boundary of Haiti, we were told by Miami to change to Port-au-Prince on 134.15.

Now, that immediately let me know that there was a communication problem.  Port-au-Prince has used 124.5 for many years.

First of all, I could not reach Approach Control, and secondly, there were a bunch of other aircraft having the same communication problem.  Pilots are good at working through communication problems, as we relay for one another.  We landed safely.

I'm THANKFUL to have been coming in at this time.  Perhaps we can help solve this problem.

We have dealt with this before.  Whether it is intentional or not, the local radio stations are "jamming the airwaves" with their "over-modulated music and this is a BIG PROBLEM.

At any rate, I spent all day yesterday going from office to office discussing the matter with the engineers and also recruiting every local pilot I know in Haiti to join us in this battle for CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS.

When a pilot encounters radio interference, they can file a PIREP (Pilot Report) and submit it to OFNAC (the FAA of Haiti).  We can then "triangulate" on where the interference is coming from and fix the problem.  Please PRAY that we identify the source(s) of interference and correct it.

In between these challenges, we're making good progress getting all of the paper work in order to receive the 2 Containers full of vital medical supplies.  It's a long process and we're well on the road.  Again, please continue to pray for us to get all into good order.

Last night, when I lay down, my head was spinning like a top.  I needed a "stabilizer".  Turned on "YouVersion" and let the Word of God soothe my spinning head. PRAISE GOD for the WORD OF GOD!!

Time to get on with this day...that our Lord has made.  Already rejoicing in it.  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

LITTLE DONKEY TROTS TO HAITI

It was time to return to Haiti.  The containers have arrived.  Randy and I were up early and we saw a clear shot to Haiti, but the weather was rapidly closing in.  We prayed and launched.

We climbed to 17,000' and had a bit of a tailwind.  Oh, a Caribbean sunrise is a thing of majestic beauty.  I never get tired of seeing one gloriously unfold before me.

We made great time and only had to make one tiny route adjustment to get around a build up near Cuba.  The rest of the flight was smooth as silk.  Love those kind!!

We had an amazing load of supplies and some treats for Barb and crew.  The Little Donkey delivered the mail.

Now, we're on the journey to get those containers, that are filled with life-saving medical supplies, FREED!

Please pray for our Lord to lead us each step of the way.  Yes, the roads in Haiti are extremely dangerous as demonstrated by yesterday's blog and that tragic bus crash.  The death toll is still rising.

Time for my second cup of coffee, and we'll be out and about today.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!

ROADS IN HAITI ARE "EXTREMELY" DANGEROUS

Saw this story last night. It reminds me of just how dangerous roads are in Haiti.  Over the years, I've had many, many close calls.

This tragic story demonstrates just that....AT LEAST 38 KILLED AFTER BUS PLOWS INTO PARADE IN HAITI

When I drive in Haiti, I particularly PRAY for those on the side of the road, in addition to praying for a safe journey.

The reason for this is...I've been told that IF one strikes a pedestrian DO NOT STOP, as angry crowds will attack and often kill the driver.

You're advised to drive to the next Police Station and report what happened.

That is the reason that it is so important to pray for the pedestrians.  After nearly 39 years, and by God's GRACE & MIRACULOUS POWER, I have never hit a pedestrian and I pray I never do!!

PLEASE PRAY for the injured and those fighting for their lives.  Just another sad story from Haiti.

Speaking of Haiti.  Our containers are arriving soon and it'll be necessary to go and help clear the precious cargo.  Again, PLEASE PRAY for God's grace and favor with the Haitian Authorities.

So, it's time to get on with this beautiful day that our Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it.  As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

ALOFT...

The TICO Airshow is a great event.  It's always a blessing to be there.

The Air Mobile "booth" was set up next to another great ministry, Servant Air Ministries International (SAMI).  We've cooperated on many missions and there are more to come.

We love meeting new friends along the way.  An Airshow brings out folks who LOVE aviation.  Over the years, we've met so many who share our love for flying.

When we can have that love (for flying) and at the same time bring help and hope to others, that's a GOOD THING!  Truly, our Lord gives us the desires of our hearts.

I want to give a special THANKS to Yahn, our faithful "Water Mule" and jack of many trades.  He did a super job of putting the Air Mobile display together while we were "Cruising".  Thanks, Yahn.

Today, we'll be bringing the Good News of Jesus to those who are in the hospital and then....getting ready for our "next mission"....wherever that might be.

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

WHILE WE WERE "CRUISING....."

Cindy and I are so THANKFUL for faithful volunteers and friends.  While we were on our little "Get Away" cruise of rest and recovery, our "Crew" was busy back home preparing for the Annual TICO Airshow.

Yesterday was Day 1 of this awesome Airshow that features many past "Warbirds" as well as spectacular aerial displays.

The Founders of the Airshow, Valiant Air Command (VAC) have always given us a space of prominence and we have the "Little Donkey" (AKA 'Ti Burik') on display along with the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier.

This is such a nice way to demonstrate what we do.  THANK YOU "Valiant Air Command" for this open door.  And again, where would we be without so many who stand with us in this mission?

And....while we were "Cruising" we just received this very encouraging update from Bob Bostic of Deliver The Difference (DTD) regarding those Containers of food "stuck in India".  There is hope that we can work together and spring these 500,000+ meals free and to hungry children.  Here's Bob's update:

Hey guys, it has been a fast and furious day here at DTD. Back at the beginning of February we were given 2 shipping containers with 570,000 meals in them. Another organization had shipped them to Nepal but they got stuck in India. The condition was that we had to pay what was owed on them.
When we were in India two weeks ago we spent many hours trying to get the containers released, but could not complete the mission. Today we got an extremely exciting email and have been back and forth with many people all day. We have reached a conclusion and will give you all the details on Tuesday. We are going to need your help!
Stay tuned...
With that good news, it's time to get to work.  Will be at the Airshow and all over today.  We're getting ready for our "next mission".

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

"CRUISED....."

What an amazing experience!  The Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is simply magnificent.  The ship "Jade" was indeed,  just what the "Doctor" ordered.

My Cindy, having returned from an epic mission to India and the Philippines came home tired (jet-lagged) and sore (from sprained ankle).

Folks, NCL knows how to pamper their guests, we can certainly attest to that.  The food, service and easy pace gave us all a super treat and rapid healing!

We'll be disembarking in a few hours and heading home.  All we can say is WOW!  Praise God for His goodness!!

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious love, prayer and support!!

"RUINED".....

The Mayans were amazing and very hard working folks.  We had the opportunity to visit and do a little exploring on a relatively newly discovered series of temples (Chaccohoben).

BTW, there are still quite a few Mayans left...they are not all extinct.

Our guide, "Gerry" gave some very interesting and often humorous glimpses into this fascinating history.

Jerry doesn't believe that "Aliens" were involved in the Mayans rise or demise.

Overall, this cruise has been absolutely delightful.  It's with mixed feelings that it's so soon coming to a close.  We're heading back to Tampa and should dock early tomorrow morning.

At this time, in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, we only have a Satellite connection to the internet and it's difficult to post photos.  However, when the connection gets strong, I'll throw a few shots up to show you where we've been.

Time to go to breakfast now.  THANKS, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support.

HEADING TO "RUINS"....MAYAN

Was walking through a series of gift stores on-board when....we saw our picture on a wall.  No, we weren't wanted.

We found the shot taken of us when we boarded this beautiful ship, the "Jade".  We bought the picture!

Oh, this cruise has been exactly what....the doctor ordered.  The food is absolutely DELICIOUS & the pace on-board is just what we need, slow and easy.

Cindy is recovering from her "Jet Lag" and her ankle is getting stronger and less painful.

We traversed the Gulf of Mexico yesterday and this morning, we're docking (as I type) in Costa Maya, Mexico.  I can feel the tug gently pushing us up to the dock right now.

We'll be exploring the "Ruins" of Chacchoben today.  The Mayans were brilliant, particularly when it comes to astronomy and construction.  We're looking forward to the day of discovery.

It's time for breakfast and then...to the "Ruins".  As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable and truly appreciated prayer, love and support!!

We're on-board the beautiful Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) "Jade".  This is going to be a short cruise, just 4 days.

The "Satellite" connection is a bit sketchy, so the blog this morning will be short.  The ship is rolling in 8-10' seas.  There are relatively strong 30+ knot winds and I'm slowing getting my "sea legs".

Cindy is resting and getting over "jet lag" after having returned from India / Philippines.  We're just enjoying good food and a lot of REST.  God is good!!

As I learn the Sat Codes and figure out how to stay on-line for more than a few seconds, I'll try to write more.

THANK YOU for joining on this "Rambling Journey" and above all, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

A QUIET "RETREAT"

For the next 5 days, we'll be on-board a ship in the Gulf of Mexico.  We planned this "retreat" in memorial of Cindy's little brother, Tommy.

Lance Corporal Thomas S. Perron, gave his life, as a Marine, and a very brave American, to protect our freedom.

Now, my Cindy needs a time to rest and recover following her long and very successful mission to India and the Philippines.

You may recall that prior to her departure, she sprained her ankle.  She bravely completed her mission, but just needs some good rest time to allow the healing to be complete.

So, the "Rambling" blog will come to you from on-board the Norwegian Jade.  Oh, we're ready for this!!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

SAFE...AT HOME BASE!!

What a joy to see Cindy and Katie emerge onto the curb at Orlando!

After flying from half way around the world, and being awake for over 36 hours with only little snatches of sleep, I took them home and they went promptly to sleep.

Later, we had dinner and heard story after story of God's Amazing Grace.  It was like hearing a chapter from the Book of Acts.

OH, It's good to have my Cindy Home!!!

Sometimes, as I sit before this laptop and ponder what to write, I just get overwhelmed with joy as I reflect on the goodness of God!

This little "rambling blog", has been a means of documenting the times that our Lord has done great things in our lives.

TRULY, He never leaves us nor forsakes us!!

You have joined us on so many missions around the world.  We're THANKFUL to have you on-board with us with  your precious prayer, love and support!!

CINDY & KATIE LANDING TODAY!!

After a VERY long flight from Dubai, Cindy and Katie will once again step onto American soil.  PRAISE GOD!!

If all goes as scheduled, they will touch down in Orlando this morning at 10:10AM.  Ari and I will be on the curb, eagerly awaiting their return.

What an amazing, epic journey these ladies have been on.  From Orlando to India to the Philippines and now home.

They have literally "circled" the globe for Jesus!

They have delivered clean water, food and the Good News of Jesus where it is so desperately needed!

"When you've done it unto the least of these...you've done it unto Me!"......Jesus

We're so appreciative to have you on-board with us with your prayer, love and support!!

THE LONG JOURNEY HOME....

Last night, Cindy and Katie bid farewell to Aldrich, James and their family.  Yes, parting is such sweet sorrow!

Now, is the long journey home!  They will traverse from half way around the world.  We pray that they have a pleasant and restful journey.

As you may know, Cindy sprained her ankle just before departing on this epic journey.

She is in quite a bit of pain and I ask you to pray particularly that our Lord will touch her for this long journey home.

Ariana and I are certainly ready to have her home.  We've managed in her absence, but....we've really missed her and so glad she's winging this way!

Looking back on their Mission to India and the Philippines, they have accomplished a lot!

Setting up a feeding program for 1000 hungry children every day and helping lead folks to the saving, liberating love of God!  Wow, we're so proud of Cindy and Katie!!

We're planning to take a little time for some good rest and relaxation when Cindy comes home.  Can hardly wait!!

CINDY & KATIE FROM THE PHILIPPINES....MISSION BEING ACCOMPLISHED!!

Cindy writes:   "After a long day of ministry, preaching, feasting, buko halo halo, reuniting with dear friends (Cherish Gay Bucong) and enjoying great fellowship, the tribe made us honorary princesses!"

We're EXTREMELY THANKFUL for our Lord's protection, guidance and anointing!  Cindy and Katie have been busy sharing the Love of God.

The Filipino community has embraced them and shown such love.

They made Cindy and Katie "Honorary Princessess" to their tribe.  PRAISE GOD, WE ARE ONE FAMILY IN CHRIST JESUS!

Soon, my precious darling will be aiming back toward home and we can hardly wait.  Please continue to pray for protection and guidance for Cindy and Katie!

Meanwhile, back here in Florida, I had one last assignment regarding the Haiti Delegation.

Yves Cesar is a top Engineer from Haiti and my job was to help him get closer (but not too close) to some of our Florida alligators.  We accomplished that mission!

We went to the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp and boarded a Florida Airboat and went in search of some of these extraordinary creatures.

We came across one that "eased into the water" and shot toward us like a torpedo.  So glad to have been in that airboat!!!

Today, "Mr. Mom" (me) will be tending to chores, shopping and keeping Ariana (and Andy) on coarse and happy.  The Lord is good!!

PLEASE remember to PRAY for Cindy as she and Katie complete the "Mission" to the Philippines.  We're so THANKFUL for all that they've been able to accomplish in Christ Jesus!

As always, THANK YOU for your precious and invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

CINDY & KATIE PREACHING THE GOOD NEWS!!!  PRAY FOR THEIR SAFETY!!!!

We've been PRAYING for Cindy and Katie as they've traveled half way around the world to bring the EXTREMELY GOOD NEWS OF JESUS!!  GO CINDY & KATIE!!

It was a JOYOUS occasion for them to finally meet up with Aldrich and James, the great Filipino musicians for Jesus!!

The Church received them with such gladness and sweetness.

Cindy and Katie will be there for several days helping to establish "Celebrate Recovery", an awesome drug (all addictions) treatment program.

I can't even begin to tell you how much Cindy and I love the Filipino people!  I long to be there with them, but I know that  Cindy & Katie are doing a great job  of delivering the GOOD NEWS!

Now, I ask you to PRAY for their safety.  They are located in an area of the Philippines that has a lot of Radical Islamic activity.

Recently, a German man was beheaded by the Terrorists.  Here is the story - GERMAN CITIZEN BEHEADED IN SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES

Meanwhile, back here in Florida, we wrapped our final day of hosting the Haiti Delegation who are in "search" for a great Search &
Rescue (SAR) system.

We hope and pray that we'll be able to help them "find" just that.

It's time for me to get Ariana to school.  This is "Teacher Apprciateion Week" and my job was to make a big pot of "Black Bean Soup".  It's fun being "Mr. Mom"....until my Cindy returns safe and sound!

As always, THANK YOU for you precious love, prayer and support!!
