A QUIET SUNDAY....

Can't begin to tell you how good it is to be home.  On this quiet Sunday, will just rest and reflect on the wonder and love of our Lord.

Cindy is working at the hospital today and Ari is not feeling well.  Will just stay home and take care of her (she's feeling better).

Our good friends, Alfred and Lisa Menendez will cover our Chaplain ministry at the Orlando Hospital.

I know that I tell you this every day, but it is so true....THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

RUNNING ON FUMES...

After the 12 hour drive from Tennessee to Florida, on about 3 hours of sleep, dodged a wicked line of storms while heading to Kennedy Space Center.

Had to submit Security Documents for my long term Badge for NASA.  From NASA, rolled right into meetings with Overland Mission.

We're discussing an opportunity presented to Overland to take over a magnificent facility (missionary compound) in Zambia.

We went over the need for clean water and setting up an aviation operation.  We'll be reaching out to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) for advice.

After those meetings, headed home and simply collapsed.

Just felt like I ran out of fuel...running on fumes.

But OH, it's good to be home.  After a good nights sleep, I feel much better and refreshed.  God is good!!

This week, will be resuming the flight training in preparation for the CFI check-ride.

THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

12 HOURS LATER....

It's easy to take our good highways for granted. Driving from the Mountains of East Tennessee  to Florida is over 700 miles and I did it in about 12 hours.

Hardly ever got below 60 mph.  No real traffic jams and the road was smooth as silk.

I'm reminded of the (literally) millions of people moving or escaping or evacuating around the world.

My heart breaks....

This morning, I'll be meeting with Overland Missions located in Cocoa, FL.  This is a great organization.

They're wanting more information on the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier and some guidance on Mission Aviation for project in Zambia.

May our Lord direct us as He wills!!

It's a joy to work together with other missions. I believe it brings a smile to the face of our Lord Jesus when we work together!

Here's more on Overland Missions - OVERLAND MISSIONS

Before meeting with Overland, I'll be delivering paper work to NASA for my Security Clearance.

It's good to be home!!  THANK YOU, as always. for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN....

Can't help but think of Willy Nelson at times like this.

Wrapping up the cabin and heading back to Florida.  Mission(s) Accomplished.

It's a 12 hour journey back to Florida...with no delays.

Time to start rolling.  Sure have missed my Cindy and Ari (and Andy and Pippin & Maple - our Sugar Gliders).

Thank God for "hands-free" cell phones.  Will be discussing the terrible flooding in Nebraska (and beyond) as well as the situation in Venezuela, Mozambique / Zimbabwe and even Zambia along the way.

I'm so THANKFUL for these devices that allow us to work most anywhere....even "On the Road".

Time to close up the cabin and start driving. Sure do appreciate your prayer, love and support!!!

OPENING A 'TREASURE'....

Up early, having a cup of coffee, opened my Bible to Proverbs 3*.  Oh my, one of my all time favorite Proverbs.

So often, as I scan the world news and see the many directions that we could go to bring the Love of God and CLEAN WATER to a hurting & thirsty world....I get overwhelmed.

What path shall we take, where should we go, what should we do?  When I read Proverbs 3, our Lord brings peace to my turbulent soul.

If I trust in the Lord with all my heart & lean not to my own understanding, He shall direct my path.

PRAISE GOD!!  And there is so much more in this amazing Proverb. If you have a few minutes, may I encourage you to click on this link to read Proverbs 3 yourself.

Perhaps you're facing some tough decisions or simply need some direction from our Lord.  Then, this Proverb is for you!!

PROVERBS 3 NKJV

BTW, from the time I began writing this blog this morning, until now, an amazing door just may be opening for us to get some desperately needed CLEAN WATER into Venezuela.

Can't give any details at this time.  PLEASE PRAY for us to have His direction!!

Here's a quote from a recent story on the water situation....

"But people try to find water wherever they can: from springs, leaky pipes, gutters, government-provided tankers and the little that flows through the Guiare River in Caracas.

"We fill up from a well near here but we don't know if its drinkable. But we're using it," said Erimar Vale, who lives in the capital.

Here's the rest of that story - TOP VENEZUELA COURT TIGHTENS NOOSE ON OPPOSITION LEADER

Again, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!  I do hope you were able to take a few minutes and read Proverbs 3.  It'll bless you!!

Air Mobile Joe

* I often read the Proverb that corresponds with the day of the month.  Since there are 31 Proverbs, one for each day.  It's a good way to "tap" into God's wisdom, something I so desperately need!

LITTLE DONKEY PROGRESS....

I spoke with Don George* yesterday on the status of the rebuild of the rear engine for the Little Donkey (AKA: Ti Burik).

So far, so good.  The crankshaft looks good and Don is sending out components for inspection.

Oh, I've surely missed the Little Donkey but....soon, this wonderful tool will be back in the air.

PRAISE GOD!!

As I hear reports from around the world on the need for CLEAN WATER, my heart breaks.

I want to GO, but for now,  we must focus our resources on getting that engine rebuilt and installed.

We're extremely THANKFUL for organizations who have "loaned" us aircraft during this time, i.e. Remote Area Medical (RAM).  But it's time we get our bird back in the air!

The Little Donkey has remarkable capabilities.  It can fly at high altitude for long distances, carry a good load and land on very short, unimproved airstrips.  It is an excellent "Scout" plane for rapid-deployment following disasters.

Thought I'd give you a good update on the progress of the Little Donkey.

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

*Don George Aircraft Engines is a legendary aircraft engine shop.  I've known Don George, the owner and founder, for years.  He always does a great job of rebuilding engines.

IMMERSED....

One of the things that I truly enjoy is "Listening" to God's Word.

Thanks to a wonderful App (YouVersion), I can simply listen to the Word all throughout the day...and night.  It's wonderful!

FAITH COMES BY HEARING & HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD!!

My time here at the cabin has been extended a bit.  Cindy and I are working on a project here that requires a bit more research.

So, it's just me and the cows and the Word of God.

Speaking of cows, some folks are working on a "Cow Toilet" to cut down on eeee-mooo-sions.  That should clean things up a bit.  Here's more -

COW "TOILETS" IN THE NETHERLANDS....

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

A BRIDGE OVER "SWEET WATERS"

Recently, this part of Tennessee had the worst rains in 137 years.  Our bridge, leading to the retreat cabin, was damaged.

Thank God for good neighbors who can repair bridges!  You have to have a safe bridge!!

Again, I'm Thankful for the good internet connection here at the cabin.

Have been able to continue to update my NASA Security badge.

Took a couple more tests yesterday.  I'm grateful for the access that we have at NASA.

This has enabled us to do more testing and advanced research on the Air Mobile Rescuer water purification system.

Our dream is to put our technology on-board the International Space Station (ISS) and even possibly provide clean water to the Astronauts on the Mars Mission and the Moon Base!

The Air Mobile Rescuer is an AMAZING MACHINE!!

So, the "Mission" goes on to provide clean water on earth & space & beyond!!  THANK GOD for this incredible tool and open door at NASA.

And THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

CONNECTED...

Even though there is no "Cell" coverage here at the cabin, there is internet.  With that...we're connected.

It came time to renew my NASA Security.  Was able to study and take an I.T. Security test and..passed.

One more step in keeping that "NASA Badge" current.

So THANKFUL for the internet here at the cabin.

Was speaking with Cindy this morning and she sent this to me.

I'm so proud of Cindy!!!

After only being employed at Rockeledge Regional Medical Center for 6 months, she was named the "Nurse of the Month"!!

Cindy is an extremely gifted and compassionate Nurse!!

Well, it's getting time to wrap up my time here at the cabin.

We've been working on a number of projects up here and making good progress.

We're very THANKFUL to have you on-board with your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

QUIET....

One thing I love about time here at the "Retreat Cabin" is the "Quiet".

Occasionally, I hear the cattle "lowing" or a lonely tractor passing by.

As spring is approaching, the birds are returning.  They're beginning to add to the melodious chorus of sounds.

There is no cell signal here in the "holler" (a TN valley).  Only have a landline that rarely rings.

I particularly like the long periods between interruptions, i.e. phone calls etc.

In the midst of the "quiet", I like to listen for our Lord to speak to me in His still quiet voice.

The remarkable and wonderful thing is that our Lord wants to speak to us because He loves us more than we can even imagine.

I'm reminded that to hear, it helps to be listening.

Ahhh, the joy of the "Retreat Cabin" in the mountains of East Tennessee.

May you find "quiet" places with which to hear our Lord speaking to your heart.

For the next couple of days, will be working on a few projects at the cabin before heading south to Florida.

I realize that I tell you this every day, but....I truly do appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!!

MASTER CARPENTER...

We've needed some carpentry work done around the cabin.  I prayed and asked our Lord to send a "Master Carpenter" our way.  HE did!

Recently, I was introduced to Richard Roberts (no, not Oral Roberts son).  Instantly, I knew Rich was an answer to prayer.  Rich loves the Lord and has an amazing gift of working with wood.

Today, we'll be working on a number of projects around the cabin that I'd like to wrap up before heading back to Florida.

I'm reminded of the words from a very wise Pastor, Roy Stockstill, many years ago.  "Son, don't forget, God knows how to deploy His troops".

Often (and I'm guilty), I forget to simply ASK our Lord to send His troops my way.  James 4:2 tells us to...."Ask God".

Just thought I'd pass on this bit of good news today.  Our Lord wants us to ASK Him!!

Time to get to work.  THANK YOU, as always, for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

REMEMBERING STAN & THANK YOU RAM!!

Arrived bright & early at RAM (Remote Area Medical) HQ for a day of ground- training and flying in the Cessna Caravan.

I'm so THANKFUL that our Lord allowed my path to cross with Stan Brock in Haiti nearly 10 years ago.

It was no accident that our Lord had our paths cross.  RAM & Air Mobile have worked around the world together bringing help and hope to many.

I sure do miss my dear friend!  I do believe that Stan would be very pleased with the way Remote Area is operating.

After our ground-training on the systems of the Caravan, we headed to Downtown Knoxville Airport (KDKX) where RAM keeps their aircraft.  We'd be doing air-work in the Caravan.

Our Instructor is Darrell, a check-pilot for FedEx and a great friend of RAM.

Darrell knows the Cessna Caravan extremely well & is a great instructor.

We'd be working on Short-field take-off and landings, as well as steep turns and stalls in the Caravan.

We fired up the 600 HP PT-6 engine on the Caravan and began our training maneuvers.  What a wonderful aircraft!!

Again, I'm so THANKFUL to RAM for allowing me to train with other Volunteer RAM pilots.  At the end of the day, headed back to the "Retreat Cabin".

Will be working on a number of projects before heading back to Florida.

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

A DAY DELAY....

Our Caravan Instructor Pilot works for FedEx and was delayed in arrival.  Our Flight Training was delayed a day.

BTW, FedEx operates the largest fleet of Cessna Caravans in the world. They KNOW this bird well!!

The day delay was no problem.  Had plenty of work to do around the cabin.  Also gave a bit more time to study the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) on the Caravan.

This morning, will be heading over to Knoxville to begin Day 1 of on-going Flight Training on the Cessna Grand Caravan.

I am so THANKFUL to RAM (Remote Area Medical) for inviting me to join in this training. This is a BIG GIFT!!

I'm reminded of a Scripture....Study to show yourself approved unto God...

This time at the Retreat Cabin affords sweet time to Study the Word of God....and Study Aviation.  God is good!!!

Time to pack up and head to Knoxville.

THANK YOU, as always, for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

BACK IN THE CLASSROOM & THE COCKPIT

Flight training is a BLESSING!  Things in the aviation world are constantly changing. Good flight training helps one to stay on top of the latest.

Plus, going over Emergency Procedures and Flight Systems helps to keep one sharp.  I LOVE IT!!

No matter how well-built and maintained an aircraft may be...."Stuff Happens" and it's good to be ready for it, when it does.

My training this week will be on the King Air 200 and the Cessna Grand Caravan.  These are 2 remarkable aircraft.

I've been "pouring-over" the Flight Manuals over the weekend getting ready.

SPECIAL THANKS to Remote Area Medical (RAM) for allowing me to participate in this training.

Over the last 9 years, Air Mobile & RAM have cooperated on relief missions around the world.

So, on this chilly morning in the mountains of East Tennessee, I'll be heading over to Knoxville to begin the training.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

Your PRAYERS are vital to the success of our mission!!

CHURCH / CHORES / A TURKEY TROT & A LITTLE BIT OF MARCH MADNESS

On this chilly (32 degrees)  March morning in the mountains of East TN, getting ready for Church.

The folks here in TN sure do love the Lord.

As you drive these mountain roads, there's hardly a mile that goes by that you don't see a church.

Have been getting ready for some more flight training with RAM (Remote Area Medical).

In between Chapters on the King Air 200 and Cessna Grand Caravan, been knocking out chores around the cabin.

When I walked out on the deck of the cabin, saw a "flock" of wild turkeys just meandering up the hill.  One thing is for sure, you won't go hungry up here with the deer, rabbits and turkeys.

And...thanks to a good internet connection was able to pick up the LSU - Maryland Basketball game.

WOW!  LSU's going to the Sweet 16, first time since 2006.  GEAUX TIGERS!

Well, enough of this rambling on, time to head to church.

THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

COURSE IS SET....

After careful study, an engine is on the way to be overhauled for the Little Donkey!

We considered purchasing another Cessna 337 and removing the engine and installing it on the the Little Donkey but...there were complications.

Now, we have a clear course to get a fresh engine on the aircraft and get it back in the air.  YEA!!!

Once the decision was made, the engine was loaded up and delivered (within hours!) to the Don George Engine shop in Orlando, FL.  I've known Don for years and he'll do a great job!!

Also, because of your prayer and generosity, we have the funds to cover the overhaul!  PRAISE GOD!!!

We're so THANKFUL for our friends at RAM (Remote Area Medical) who have "loaned" us aircraft to fly strategic, life saving missions during this time.

I have thoroughly enjoyed flying the Cessna Grand Caravan!!

Also, during this time that the Little Donkey has been down, have been able to do a lot of great flight training both in the Cessna Caravan and toward getting my Certified Flight Instructor Rating.

I'm reminded of one of my all time favorite Scriptures....Romans 8:28.

Life gives us delays and "course changes", but all the time, our Lord is working toward accomplishing His will in our lives!

Meanwhile, we're following the unbelievable flooding in Nebraska.  We're on stand-by, awaiting clearance and funding to go and help.

Here's more on this unfolding tragedy...NEBRASKA FLOODING HAS CAUSED THE WORST AND MOST WIDESPREAD DESTRUCTION IN STATE'S HISTORY

This week, I'll be in Knoxville in flight training with RAM.  Should we be cleared to go to Nebraska, we'll stage out of Knoxville.  We're PRAYING for guidance and provision!

HOME....SAFE!! &....THE "FLIGHT" OF THE SUGAR GLIDERS

Cindy, Ari, Andy & Pepe made the 12 hour journey safe & sound.  Praise God for traveling mercies.

Well, there was one "Incident" in the journey.  Ari has 2 Sugar Gliders (very cute!) named Pippin and Maple.

Early into the road trip, they escaped their cage and were running free...& crazy in our red Ford Escape.

Cindy managed to pull off the mountain road and "capture" the run-away sugar gliders.

Apart from rapid heart-beat and a few minor scratches, they were put away in their pouch and made the rest of the journey without incident.

Now, I'll be flight training with RAM (Remote Area Medical) next week.

And...the next mission may be coming soon.  I've received a "Formal Request" from the Santee Sioux Nation in Nebraska.

The flooding there is terrible and the need for CLEAN WATER is becoming critical.

Again, we're praying for our Lord's direction and for the funding to bring them clean water.  Stay tuned!!

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

CINDY, ARI & PEPE (CINDY'S DAD) ON THE ROAD

It's time for Cindy & Ari (& of course, little Andy) to get back to Florida.....

Spring Break is coming to an end.  We've truly enjoyed having Cindy's Dad, Ron, with us.

They'll be on the road for 12 hours today.  Please pray they have a safe journey.  Sure going to miss them!!

I'll be in more Flight Training with Remote Area Medical (in Knoxville, TN).

We're monitoring the situation in Venezuela and awaiting the "Clearance" to go.  The situation is extremely fluid.

Last night, I lay awake pondering Psalm 91.  Our Lord has been so good to us by allowing us to go into danger zones and accomplish the mission of sharing His love and bringing clean water to the thirsty.

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!

A TIME TO REST....PLAN

Yes, we're just enjoying our time up here at the Retreat Cabin.  Cindy and I spend extra time in the morning just watching the fire in the wood stove and savoring our coffee.

A perfect time to plan and pray....& re-charge our batteries!

I recall wise words from my first Pastor (Roy Stockstill)...

"Come apart...

 lest you come-apart".

THANK YOU, Brother Roy.

So, after our reflecting time watching "Episode III" of the dancing fire in the wood stove, will be out blazing trails and maybe chopping some fire wood.  Sure do love it here at the Retreat Cabin!

CHILLY TODAY....

Here at the cabin, we're just "chilling" out and enjoying the peaceful time.  Winter is still here and temp is in the low 20's.

Thank God for the little wood stove to keep things warm.  And yes, we can and do cook on this stove.  Back to nature.

We're watching "Episode II" on the old wood stove (LOL).

OK, I'll admit it, there's not a lot going on with us, except just resting and enjoying the beauty and coziness of the little cabin during this "Spring Break".

God is good....all the time!!

But, we are tracking the terrible situation in Venezuela and the Cyclone that hit Mozambique.  We're asking our Lord for direction and what should do and how we can help.  For now, we'll just rest and enjoy the peace.

THANK YOU, as always for your wonderful and faithful prayer, love and support!!

We love the old wood stove at the cabin.  Often, just watching it burn is like a movie.  Ahhh, quiet, peaceful time.

We're blessed to have Cindy's Dad, Ron with us.  It was Ron who first introduced me to Cindy.

And we know the rest of that story.  THANKS RON!

We've all worked in Haiti for over 40 years.

In the meantime, it's Spring Break and Ari is off school and Cindy has a week off from the hospital so...we're making a dash to the mountains of East TN where the "Retreat Cabin" awaits us.

We're continuing to monitor the tragic situation in Venezuela and seeking ways that we can help.  Pieces are coming together.

I'm THANKFUL for cell phones and the internet.  We can plan and strategize and mobilize from most anywhere.

RECRUITING....PRAYER WARRIORS

Recently, I received an invitation to come and speak to prayer group in Cocoa Beach.  I gladly accepted.

This morning, I'll be there "recruiting" PRAYER WARRIORS.

The single greatest need for Air Mobile is divine guidance and prayer.  We often go into "Disaster Areas" and bring clean water to the thirsty.  Clean water is a "non-negotiable".

Following any disaster (natural or man-made), the need for CLEAN WATER is #1.  The logistical challenges can be staggering, particularly when going into a zone of destruction.  That is why PRAYER is so important!!

Our Lord has blessed Air Mobile with an amazing machine that can take the most contaminated water and make it pure on less electricity than a single light bulb.

A single machine can give 1000 people per day clean drinking water for years.  Yes, this machine is close to a "miracle".

We're so THANKFUL, that with your prayer, love and support, we've been able to place 1300+ water purifiers in 47 countries and....we've just begun!!

God bless you and THANK YOU AGAIN for your faithful prayer, love and support!!

I'm so THANKFUL for those who PRAY for our ministry!  This group of ladies, led by my dear Sister in Christ, Ann Junker, certainly know how to PRAY!!

They've been meeting in a tiny, historic home right next to First Baptist Merritt Island for over 20 years.  They're a PRAYER POWER HOUSE!

It is always a joy coming to come speak to them and share how our Lord is pouring out His grace!

Can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate Larry and Ann Junker.  Where would we be without so many standing with us in prayer!!

So, today will continue to move ahead girded by prayer!!

And THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

Larry has an extraordinary gift of wisdom and has been an incredible source of guidance for all these years.

Ann and a group of ladies have been praying for Air Mobile for years!  It's always a joy to speak to this group.

As a matter of fact, when we first decided to build the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier 15 years ago, we spoke to this same group of ladies (literally within days of the decision!).

Since then, we've had the privilege to place over 1300 units in 47 countries.  So many lives have been saved and so many doors have been opened to share the love of God!!

PRAYER WORKS!!

So, it's time to go and give a good report and share all that our Lord is doing in Air Mobile.

THANK GOD FOR PRAYER WARRIORS!!!

And, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

DAILY....

This has certainly been a long journey (over 9 years!).  I've always "sort of" journal-ed, but never, every single day.

This particular string of blogs began just hours after the terrible earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010.  Have written a short Blog every day since.

Truth is...it's a labor of love.  I really don't mind doing it and does help keep me... "somewhat" on track.  It's also helpful to look back when I need to verify a flight or deployment.

A number of you, who read this "Rambling Blog" let me know that you're praying for me.

That means A LOT!!

THANK YOU!

Don't know how long I'll keep doing it...but today, have written another blog.... about writing the daily blog.

Oh, it's Monday morning and it arrived an hour short (thanks to Daylight Saving Time).

Have the usual "To Do List" before me.  We're ever working on getting more CLEAN WATER to thirsty people.  Above all, I'm simply seeking His will for me today.

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your faithful prayer, love and support!!!

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES....

One of the many benefits to on-going flight training is...preparing for Emergencies.   I've been flying for over 50 years and...yes EMERGENCIES DO HAPPEN!

Flight training for the CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) Rating goes over so many aspects of flight.  It's truly a wonderful experience and I'm enjoying it greatly!

Yesterday, Glen (my Flight Instructor) and I took the C-172 up to practice "Engine Out Spiral to land".

So, in the event of an engine failure at altitude, once the landing sight is selected, we set up a spiral over the spot to land safely.

You PRAY that you don't need to exercise EMERGENCY PROCEDURES but...It's good to know them well, should one occur!

And, as a CFI, not only knowing what to do, but being able to explain and teach a student what to do.  Oh, I love this training!!

While the Little Donkey is down for the engine change, this is a good opportunity for this additional Flight Training.

BTW, we're making steady progress toward getting the replacement engine for the Little Donkey.

On this beautiful Sunday morning (except for the loss of an hour of sleep), Cindy and I are getting ready for Church and then to the Hospital for our Chaplain ministry.

THANK YOU, as always, for your precious prayer, love and support!!

SPRING FORWARD....A NICE DAY FOR FLYING...IN FLORIDA / MORE TORNADOES IN THE SOUTH - KEEP AN EYE OUT!

So, don't forget to set that time ahead.  The bottom line is...we lose an hour of sleep.

Here's a bit of history and some interesting facts about the exercise we call..."Daylight Saving Time".

8 THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT "DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME"

So, today, in sunny Florida, I'll be doing some more flying today.  The weather is looking good.....here in Florida.

However, more wicked weather will be roaring through the Southeast today.

Here's more on these possible DANGEROUS tornado threats.

DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS / TORNADOES THREATEN SOUTHEAST U.S.

Remember, the folks in Beauregard, AL only had a 9 minute warning!!

KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEATHER!!

PLEASE remember to PRAY for the folks of Beauregard.  I was pleased to see that Samaritan's Purse (SP), as well as hundreds of others, were RAPIDLY on the ground helping those in such need.

So, it's time to open those books (Federal Aviation Regulations) and do some more study.

Later this afternoon, will be cranking up the engine on that sweet little Cessna 172 and polishing my maneuvers.  Getting closer and closer to that CFI check-ride.

As I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

HOME....STUDY

It's just good to be home.  Will be studying the FAR's (Federal Aviation Regulations) and the Word of God.

Tomorrow, will be back in the air flight training.  Getting ready for the check ride which will take, not only the ability to fly and teach, but to KNOW the regulations.

BTW, that's a bowl of Cream of Wheat next to the Bible and the FAR.

Today, I'm studying Proverbs 8 (as today is the 8th).  "Does not Wisdom call out?"  Oh, Lord give me more wisdom!!

I love the Book of Proverbs!!  From time to time, I open up Proverbs to the day of the month (31 Proverbs - 31 Days in the month).  I find treasures and guidance every time!!

Here is Proverbs 8.  May you take a few moments and read it.  It'll BLESS you!!

PROVERBS 8 NKJV - ENJOY!

So today, will be studying and getting ready for that Check Ride!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!

SPIN...SPUN

Part of the training for the CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) rating includes the "Spin Certification".

Yesterday, Instructor Dave Wellborn and I took a Cessna 172 up to 4500' and did multiple spins.  It was a bit exhilarating.

Because Dave & I were quite busy in this maneuver, we did not video it.

But...here's a good clip of a couple of spins in a Cessna 172.

SPINS IN A CESSNA 172

After landing, Dave signed off the endorsement and now, I can proceed in my training toward getting the CFI Rating.

Will be back in the air flight training on Saturday.  Oh yes, I'm having a blast!!

As always, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

RIGHT PLACE / RIGHT TIME

While sipping a cup of coffee here at the cabin yesterday morning, had the impression to call our neighbors and see how they were.

I could hear in Kathy's voice a lot of pain.   Recently, she had surgery and was not progressing.

As a matter of fact, there were multiple indications of a possible blood clot!

I called Cindy and she agreed (Cindy knows quite a bit about blood clots).

I dashed over and soon, was driving Kathy to  the ER in Knoxville (80 miles away).  Within minutes after arrival, the ER Doctor ordered an ultra-sound.

PRAISE GOD, it came back clear!

I suppose the lesson here is:  "If you err on any side, err on the caution side...especially when dealing with blood clots!"

Kathy was given a therapy routine a bit less strenuous and she should recover soon.

BTW, all of Kathy's family was sick with the flu at the time and I'm just THANKFUL to have been in the right place at the right time.

Oh yes, our good friend Richard had surgery yesterday and it was successful and he's doing well.  THANK YOU for your prayers for Richard!

Well, it's time to wrap up the "mission" here at the cabin and head back to Florida....where it's warm (it's 21 degrees here...brrrr)!

About to hit the road for the 12 hour drive home.  Please prayer for "traveling mercies".

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable and precious prayer, love and support!!!

DEADLY....PLEASE PRAY!!

DEADLYline of tornadoes tore through the Southeast yesterday.  23+ are dead and the number is growing.

PLEASE PRAY for those who have lost family and loved ones! The death toll is expected to rise, as Rescuers are searching the rubble.  Over 50 have been injured and the list is growing.

Thousands are without electricity and the temperature is falling below freezing adding the suffering.

Here's more on this unfolding catastrophe - SEARCH TO RESUME AFTER TORNADO KILLS 23

How quickly our lives can change!  Could have been right in the middle of it, as the route home goes directly through that line of deadly tornadoes.

BTW, my original schedule was to head home on Sunday.  Surely, our lives are in His Hands.

Again, my heart breaks for those who have lost loved ones and for the injured.

Please remember to PRAYfor the Search & Rescue (SAR) teams that are on the ground searching as I type.

Here in the Mountains of East TN, the temperature is rapidly dropping and there is a dusting of snow.

So, as I say every single day and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your invaluable prayer, love and support!!!

PS - Please remember to pray for my dear friend and brother in the Lord, Richard, as he undergoes surgery today.

ENCORE....

Another easy-going day in the Mountains of East TN.  It's cold and rainy, but the cabin is warm and comfortable.

Spent a bit of time with a dear friend who is going in for surgery tomorrow.  Richard is a self-taught Theologian.  I love discussing the Word with him.  He always brings forward deep, but simple and pure insights into the Word.

As a matter of fact, it was Richard and Teresa who encouraged us to come up to this part of the Smokies and search for a cabin.  Oh, we're so glad they did.  The Retreat Cabin is simply amazing!!!

Please remember Richard in prayer as he undergoes surgery.

Today, I'm doing some exploring for another project up here. Too early to give details.

I'm ever reminded of one of my all time favorite Scriptures given to us by Jesus....Matthew 7:7

Over the years, I've prayed that Scripture so many times.

Let me ask you a question.  Have you ever lost or misplaced something?  Of course, we all have.

A good example is my little blue tooth.  Oh yes, I've prayed Matthew 7:7 many times  looking for that elusive little listening device...."Seek and you shall find".

I just had another dear friend ask me to PRAY for him to find a home for his family.  We prayed...."Knock & the door will be opened".

When John and I were flying the RAM Caravan back from Haiti and needed wisdom to know how to maneuver around some weather we ASKED for our Lord to guide us..."Ask and you shall receive".

I LOVE THE WORD OF GOD!!

So, today, if you're looking for something that is lost, or needing a door opened, or just want to ask our Lord for something, remember MATTHEW 7:7!

And...THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!!

'MOVIN'.... SLOW

I slept in this morning.  Have nothing to do for a bit.  Nice to take a breather.

I noticed that EVERYTHING, is moving slowly this morning, from the brewing coffee pot to the computer to my fingers on the key board.

I suppose it's a good time to just take it easy and try to make "the morning last"(another great song from the past).

In case you don't remember...or you're too young, here's Simon and Garfunkel - 'FEELIN' GROOVY  (1967)

Be sure to skip the ad and watch the video to the end...Simon & Garfunkel are joined by....(?)

Ok, enough of all that, one of our GREAT WATER MULES, Joe Prussel (along with his daughter Sage) and I are working on a new Power Point for the Air Mobile Rescuer.  I guess I'll have to get back to work.

Joe and I have worked all over the earth bringing clean water to thirsty people!!

I PRAISE GOD for sending folks like the Prussel's who have been INCREDIBLE volunteers over the years!!

The wonder and blessing of having a "remote" office...virtually anywhere on the planet.

But....it was nice sleeping-in a bit and simply enjoying that cup of coffee while listening to Simon and Garfunel.

Have several meetings with some dear friends up here in the Mountains of East Tennessee later today and tomorrow.

So, on this "easy going" morning, God bless you and THANKS for your faithful prayer. love and support!!

CARAVAN....DELIVERED!

The Avionics repair was done and it was time to get this wonderful tool, the RAM Caravan, back to it's home base in Knoxville, TN.

Before John Kater and I crawled in the spacious cockpit I had the honor to present John with his very own Air Mobile Rescuer hat!

John has certainly proven himself as an extremely capable Air Mobile Water Mule!

CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!!

Our biggest concern on this flight was ICE!  Again, our Lord made a way at the right altitude, with a temperature just above freezing.

BTW, John wears that hat well!!  John is an incredible pilot and has a heart to serve and help others in need!

Our route to Knoxville took us right over the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains.

We landed Knoxville Downtown Airport right on time and just before....the field went "hard IFR" approaching minimums.  Again, our Lord made a way!!

Here are a few thoughts after landing in Knoxville -

I can't THANK Remote Area Medical (RAM) enough for loaning us the incredible Cessna Grand Caravan and John Kater for this critical mission of delivering vital supplies to Haiti during very dark times.

After securing the Caravan, I drove to the Air Mobile TN "Retreat Cabin".  I love the cabin.

Will be working on a few projects up here.  Have had a deluge of rain and making sure there was no damage.

THANK YOU, as always, for your invaluable and vital prayer, love and support!!!
